Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Pardon Me, Boys.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Is that the Chattanooga choog-choog? Um, it's courtesy of producer Brian Jeffries, who woke up with that song in his head on his way to vaudeville i guess yeah that's uh i had never heard it but i went back and looked at some old videos uh and hey they knew how to have a good time he wasn't lying it's a real song play some horns um about sing a song about trains yep and especially one is like oh like it's like is that the chattanooga choo-choo like i love how quaint conversations were yeah hey i'm jack you're miles and here is what's trending uh we have a special ep tomorrow so uh this is your chance to hear us weigh in on the day's events because a lot happened yeah joe rogan got covid first and
Starting point is 00:03:12 foremost uh top story most important uh we don't know if he got the vaccine or not he was very vaccine skept uh early on he strikes me as a dude who did and won't say nothing right but also strikes me as a dude who might not have done it and yeah it's like just being like yeah dude my ripped immune system yeah because that was his thing right he's like young people don't need to get the vaccine because they're healthy yeah yeah you're a 50 year old who's wider than you are tall yeah how are you healthy but anyways he you know said sunday was scary man and but then he's apparently you know been taking all the things that our dear president got when he was in trouble from covet he got the uh what are what are they called like immunouno. Oh, he got Regeneron?
Starting point is 00:04:06 Yeah. Oh, he got it all. He also got, he claims to have gotten the horse dewormer. Okay, full, no. Yeah. I saw that thing where he was like, dude, hit it with all kinds of supplements, man. Fucking kitchen sink approach. I took real medicine, supplements, and horse shit improver, and I'm okay, I guess.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I don't know. It just does my head in, mate. Just listening to him ramble on, trying to point to these other things as being his secrets to living. Yeah. When you shouldn't, just don't fucking weigh in on it. This clip of, when his positive test thing on it like this clip of when uh his like positive test thing came out this clip of uh bill burr on his show kind of went viral again
Starting point is 00:04:50 because like bill burr he's like dude like because at a point he's like oh you know i'm wearing a mask above on joe rogan's like you wear a mask bro and he's like i'm not doing this with you joe just you're not a fucking medical expert i'm not a medical expert and we're not gonna just fucking start talking about shit we don't know about and it was just and again you just saw like sort of this back and forth between them but yeah it's joe but it's funny because joe rogan has this like very cynical laughter at it when bill burke calls him on a bunch of shit um where you're like yeah shithead like on some level you know what you're doing but that's what people tune in for to hear me speculate about shit that i don't understand and even though i'm looking at you going like i know
Starting point is 00:05:28 dude i'm kind of full of shit but come on bro you know like you're like oh that's truly wild that he claims to have taken the horse dewormer because you got to man or are you are you even maga full yeah mr rogan also said he had received a vitamin drip as well as Invermectin, a drug primarily used as a veterinary deworming agent. This is a quote from the New York Times. That's where we're at. He is a story that's covered in the New York Times. I mean, it got to the point where a woman sued a hospital to make them treat her husband
Starting point is 00:06:04 with Ivermectin yeah and you're like and they're like i guess you win but then like doctors like what are you fucking talking about right you might as well just say we beat him with a fucking reed stick or something that's a treatment yeah no i think that works actually i heard the beating with the reed stick works yeah it does so uh on this morning's episode we were talking about the fact that the supreme court failed to intervene and you know acknowledge out loud that the texas abortion ban was unconstitutional they hadn't said anything yet at that point so we were like will they ultimately like realize what a bad idea this was?
Starting point is 00:06:45 Even so, that would be horrifying because it would just prove that they're like doing this as a weather balloon for when they do decide to overturn Roe. Anyways, they went all in. They, in a 5-4 ruling, decided to let it ride, let a abortion ban ride in Texasas and the way they're getting around it is by making it so that people can sue each other for uh tens of thousands of dollars uh for either getting an abortion or being a part party aiding and abetting one as they would say yeah i mean a lot of people pointed out it's like oh yeah this there was an i remember another time when this was happening it's when people could report slaves that had freed themselves right yeah um in a similar fashion of reporting on people for a bounty so
Starting point is 00:07:36 yeah i mean and the other thing we're saying yesterday was just about how you know these laws once they are allowed to rock like this, other states copy very quickly. And I believe Florida had already announced that they're looking into applying this, you know, version of the Texas law in Florida. Yeah. And meanwhile, we were just hearing very little inspiring, you know, words from the leadership of this country as it relates to people's access to health care. Right. I know Biden was like, we have to, you know, do something. But it's like, well, you're the president. Like, what what are we going to do? What are you going to do? He just said, I'm instructing agencies to
Starting point is 00:08:15 quote, see what steps in the federal see what steps the federal government can take to ensure that women in Texas have access to safe and legal abortions you can make roe v wade an actual law with congress how about that how about that about that part but again you look at the these fucking ghouls and goblins like in the in both parties who just have no idea like what is at stake or they do know they just don't care because they've you know they've sided with much larger powers like the coke brothers network or something like that to just get in the way of the simplest things like voting rights or you know abortion access and this again ultimately like puts the ultimate lie to the idea that the supreme court is an impartial like purely legal entity this is by anyone's standards uh completely unconstitutional based on like all
Starting point is 00:09:07 the things that the supreme court is supposed to consult the minority opinion was like what huh how the fuck are y'all doing that and but it doesn't matter because they're an ideological political body uh that anybody you know that we we talked before about how the democratically appointed elder statesman of the supreme court um was talking about how like well i think that always uh other justices like have a fairness in mind when talking about why he wasn't going to retire well you know biden could ensure he was replaced by a liberal justice anyways uh completely fucked nancy pelosi seems to say that uh when they return from their break they uh will bring up uh judy chu she had a bill called the women's health protection act to say we'll take
Starting point is 00:10:01 that up to make this a law but grow a law yeah exactly to make to really codify that and we'll see what happens you know in in the senate women's bodily autonomy a law huh yeah decided by a bunch of old geriatrics all right well and less important news adult swim is trending uh because it is 20 years old no i gotta say uh put me on a lot of obscure comedic comedic comedic stuff uh like aqua teen was one of my was my favorite shows um and you know more than that gave people like flying lotus you know a start too because like those interstitial ads were like always the kind of things like kind of gave me an imagination for like cool music that i was not interacting with
Starting point is 00:10:50 on the radio and i was like nah man like adult swim like i remember i'd youtube like adult swim music right um because they were just so forward thinking with the kinds of music they had playing yeah all right let's take a quick break and we'll be right back i've been thinking about you i want you back in my life it's too late for that i have a proposal for you come up here and document my project all you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session. 24 hours. BPM 110. 120.
Starting point is 00:11:31 She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this?
Starting point is 00:11:47 We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When you think of Mexican culture, you think of avocado, mariachi, delicious cuisine, and of course, lucha libre. It doesn't get more
Starting point is 00:12:19 Mexican than this. Lucha libre is known globally because it is much more than just a sport and much more than just entertainment. Lucha Libre is a type of storytelling. It's a dance. It's tradition. It's culture. This is Lucha Libre Behind the Mask, a 12-episode podcast in both English and Spanish about the history and cultural richness of Lucha Libre. And I'm your host, Santos Escobar, the emperor of Lucha Libre and a WWE superstar.
Starting point is 00:12:46 Santos! Santos! host Santos Escobar, the emperor of Lucha Libre and a WWE superstar. Listen to Lucha Libre Behind the Mask as part of My Cultura Podcast Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you stream podcasts. It was December 2019 when the story blew up. In Green Bay, Wisconsin, former Packers star Kabir Bajabiamila
Starting point is 00:13:17 caught up in a bizarre situation. KGB explaining what he believes led to the arrest of his friends at a children's Christmas play. A family man, former NFL player, devout Christian, now cut off from his family and connected to a strange arrest. I am going to share my journey of how I went from Christianity to now a Hebrew Israelite. I got swept up in Kabir's journey, but this was only the beginning. a Hebrew Israelite. I got swept up in Kabir's journey,
Starting point is 00:13:44 but this was only the beginning. In a story about faith and football, the search for meaning away from the gridiron and the consequences for everyone involved. You mix homesteading with guns and church and a little bit of the spice of conspiracy theories that we liked. Voila! You got straight away.
Starting point is 00:14:00 I felt like I was living in North Korea, but worse, if that's possible. Listen to Spiraled on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In a galaxy far, far away. No, babe, that's taken. We're in our own world, remember? Right. In our own world, we're two space cadets. And totally normal humans. Sure, totally normal humans.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Embark on a journey across the stars, discovering the wonders of the universe one episode at a time. We'll talk about life, love, laughter, and why you should never argue with your co-pilot. Especially when she's always right. Right, and if we hit turbulence, just blame it on Mercury retrograde. Or Emily's questionable space piloting skills. Hey, join us on In Our Own World for cosmic conversations, stellar laughs, and super corny dad jokes.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Listen to In Our Own World as a part of the My Cultura podcast network available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And don't worry, we promise to avoid any black holes most of the time and we're back uh let's check in with uh the fuckery going on in congress currently uh joe mansion just like we were talking is hmm a piece of trash allegedly you know especially as it relates to this law in texas that's banning abortion everyone's like i thought democrats had the senate the fucking house the fucking white house but it looks like the conservatives are just running shit and you know another indication of that is when you're trying to pass a fucking infrastructure bill um during you know as you can tell both coasts of this country are going through
Starting point is 00:15:51 hell whether it's fire or flooding um and you know just again underscoring our climate crisis um you know there's still no infrastructure is like a fucking hot topic issue and joe mansion said he won't support the 3.5 trillion dollar bill right he said just basically said i can't support it or anywhere near that level of additional additional spending without greater clarity about why congress chooses to ignore the serious effects inflation and debt have on existing government programs get the fuck out of the fucking Senate. You turd. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:16:29 We're like, you're, we have the most severe shit going on, but this person, because they're so insulated by their wealth and status, it's like a, it's a fucking, it's an abstraction to them.
Starting point is 00:16:39 It's like a thing that they can just scroll past on a fucking newsfeed or someone in an app rather than human beings lives being adversely affected and not only that we have terrible issues with people about to lose unemployment benefits uh eviction moratoriums are only really around in a handful of states yet we're talking about if you're if you're worried about debt how about you actually put your head in the game here but it's all just fucking nonsense yeah somebody got to him clearly like this it's the coke brothers it has to be or the chamber of commerce i don't know but him in cinema you know like if you're if you're a real shysty political maneuver like and you know how to maneuver you
Starting point is 00:17:23 look at the math and you go who can i put the squeeze on to really stop shit up and you know how to maneuver you look at the math and you go who can i put the squeeze on to really stop shit up and you're like because if i can get two people just to disagree on this one bill then i got something yeah and it's probably a very efficient use of their influence to do that but i mean this has to be i i don't know you'd hope that the media could then zoom out a bit and rather just being like oh my gosh i mean cinema and mansion said that they were him but now they're not doing it why don't you go a little bit deeper and try and actually discuss what would what what it would take for a senator to be such an uh obstacle to this kind of thing and the influence of outside money but it's just easier to be like they're just they're just real stubborn huh and avoiding the a deeper conversation about like he said it was about debt and inflation
Starting point is 00:18:14 like can he point to a specific like that's such such a fucking just vague like uh okay i'll say this your biggest concern should be that americans have what they need to survive these are concepts for you as a legislator for sure to think about but when you're talking about what this is uh in service of to say i'm going to obstruct this because i think inflation and debt are a bigger deal who do you answer to and whose day-to-day realities and struggles are you actually taking into account to make this determination whether or not you're going to support a bill like this? And I think that's when you really see, you're like, dude, this, like, he couldn't even articulate
Starting point is 00:18:53 probably that, unless he's going to be so paternalistic and be like, well, you guys, I know you're saying you don't have jobs and an infrastructure bill could create a lot of jobs and things like that, but you got to think about inflation and debt on existing government programs, Sonny. And I think that complicated economic phenomenon like that kind of turns people's brains off. So it's just like a hypnotism trick where you're like, when I say inflation and debt, you will, your brain will shut off and you'll choose to stop paying attention. Right. When like really working people need to stop paying attention right when like really
Starting point is 00:19:25 working people need to know that it's people like this who do the bidding of the wealthy that are the fucking real threat to any upward mobility or sense of autonomy or agency you know that that we have an overall just like a very social fabric of air country yeah let's talk about candace ellen's a bit of good news this is chock full of headlines yeah i mean you know she wanted to go get a covet test and she was denied a covet test uh they basically she i think she's somewhere in colorado and someone wrote this, just said, I've just learned of this testing request. And as the owner of this business, I'm going to refuse this booking and deny service.
Starting point is 00:20:10 We cannot support anyone who has proactively worked to make this pandemic worse by spreading misinformation, politicizing and discouraging the wearing of masks and actively dissuading people from receiving life-saving vaccinations. The only other local testing option is the free kiosk by City Hall. They mail their tests to Texas and have inconsistent result times,
Starting point is 00:20:29 do not take appointments, so it's walk-in only, midday weekdays in their back alley. My team and myself have worked overtime to exhaustion, unpaid and underpaid this past year, spending our own capital to ensure that our community remains protected. It would be unfair to them and to the sacrifices we have all made this year to serve shout out to them that was well put yeah and it's funny because then candace owens suddenly is like there i was refused it because i'm uh i'm a
Starting point is 00:20:58 black woman and they're discriminating against me and i've seen takes like that they're like zoom out for a second this is about a woman who was denied health care access um you know she's able to get it other where other places but for someone like candace owens who herself says racism does not exist i don't understand how suddenly that this construct is something she's now agreeing to but again it's always selective outrage and there's no consistency to any of their philosophical beliefs so it's hard to have any kind of empathy for someone who says racism doesn't even exist um and it just lets it cook i mean it seems like they're intentionally trolling the world and everybody's sense of justice by complaining that a woman is being denied health care as as their overturning row. Like, that's...
Starting point is 00:21:45 It's like, really? Are you... Your energy's going to Cape for Candace Owens? Because there's an entire state of people who are being denied healthcare access. And, yeah. Anyway, okay. Nice try.
Starting point is 00:22:00 All right. Let's talk briefly about some of the images coming out of New York, New Jersey, South Jersey, Philly area where a lot of my people are. And it's pretty wild. There was like a massive tornado in the Philly area and in Jersey. The flooding that we're seeing in New Yorkork city is just wild like just water like pouring up out of the out of the ground uh you know like manhole covers like blowing up like blowing off because of like the pressure changes underneath uh but postmates is still out there
Starting point is 00:22:42 delivering food so that's good you. Wait, you saw that clip? Yeah. Of that guy fucking delivering a meal in fucking two and a half, three feet of water. Yeah, most high water. It was the most dystopian shit. Didn't Postmates send it or tweet it? Maybe I might have that wrong, but it seemed...
Starting point is 00:23:02 I mean, it seems like a tweet someone would do satirically, but you'd also believe it because this is hell. Hey, we're still out there making sure you get your food. right. Yeah. And underpaying people and trying to miscategorize them as a independent contractor.
Starting point is 00:23:18 So we don't have to give them any benefits, but they say about 27 people have perished, um, in the tri-state area. So it's, man, it's really harrowing. And again, this is such an emergency. And again, we are in the hands of leaders who, like Joe Biden, is saying like, yeah, uh, get up to get up to getting more drilling and stuff like that. Let's not really get too focused on changing the energy mix or what our investments are because this is all fucking not real.
Starting point is 00:23:55 Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. It's just, it's just like odd. And again, we're like, it's just an omni crisis constantly where we're still in a pandemic and we still have we're trying
Starting point is 00:24:07 to cut off benefits people are made to feel that it's over and don't have the ability to take care of themselves and continue to like experience this shit and still clock in and all this other stuff it's fucking you know it's tough like that's why i feel like every day there's a tweet on like there's a tweet that goes that gets hundreds of a ton of likes because it's mostly like being like everything's fucked up and we're just still meant to keep going yeah like that construct of tweet is like very common and i feel like resonates with a lot of people but it's i don't know it's just a tough situation too where even like the media discourse around it is through the lens of people who this these aren't really existential threats. Right. Yet more evidence that this is not normal.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Manhattan Central Park saw the most amount of rain ever to fall there in a single hour. And New York experienced the first flash flood emergency ever issued by the New York office. New York's been there for a while. It's been up and running for a while. I hear it. Yeah. Anyways, shout out to the people of New York and New Jersey and Philly. Stay safe out there.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Yeah, please do. It's awful. And I hope you can return to some sense of infrastructural stability soon all right that's gonna do it for uh this thursday afternoon we are back tomorrow with a whole last episode of the show until then be kind to each other be kind to yourselves get the vaccine don't do nothing about white supremacy. We'll talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. The Challenge is about to embark on its monumental 40th season, y'all, and we are coming along for the ride. Woohoo!
