Starting point is 00:02:10 hello the internet and welcome to this episode of the daily zeitgeist courtesy of official dickhead um i think i think that's who gave that to me could be wrong in reference to our what's that dude's name? Blippi? oh yeah yeah Blippi
Starting point is 00:02:39 Blippi Blippi I think it's Blippi it's a bloppy actually based on we all know the famous quote from BuzzFeed now the immortal quote and I won't say it but you guys know if you're a zeitgang you know I don't have to say and I won't say it here because we'll talk about it a ton probably forever what's let's talk about what's trending oh i'm jack by the way i'm miles oh nice uh that's the first time i think i've ever said i'm miles yeah i'm not just intro you didn't feel right but um that's miles this thank you is what's trending uh kellyann conway is trending i'm assuming for good reasons i actually haven't been
Starting point is 00:03:26 following this dude no um it's because they she posted apparently a photo of her daughter topless who's 16 claudia on her like fleets those you know uh ephemeral tweets that's a just a weird snapchat ripoff yeah so the police came to her house because they're like um that's apparently like pornography yeah yeah yeah it's just she was posting they say it's accidental or maybe who knows whatever it's it was very odd um but like that whole house has just been in absolute tumult yeah like i don't i can't believe like also too like this poor girl whatever this thing is with her mom like we're watching like one of the most fucked up relationships with your parent like playing out over like viral tiktok and it's really weird
Starting point is 00:04:19 yeah um and just fucking sad depressing so yeah that's why she's trending but george comway that guy uh that guy gets it he gets it he was uh one of the good ones am i right you know the gop anti-trumpers didn't he drop off some like snitch book to the feds or something like some like blueprint to like how to just take down the fucking administration oh really i don't i don't know i know this is the headline george conway hands biden's doj a roadmap to make sure trump ends up in jail hell yeah dude i i do i do respect that i think that is i don't know know yeah I don't have a problem with that it's apparent I don't know how many
Starting point is 00:05:08 other times we more examples we need that the lawlessness of Donald Trump but sure yeah give me a coloring book too on that subject 12 angry men is not trending but the idea
Starting point is 00:05:24 is trending because according to the procedural vote uh that was cast in the senate uh earlier today it seems like there are 45 who voted not to uh which would require the democrats to peel off 12 uh a la 12 angry men could sway 12 jurors over to their side to get to the number necessary to convict. Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, Murkowski, Ben Sasse, and one other were the ones who decided to vote to go through with the impeachment but does seem like as of right now and mitch mcconnell voted to not go through with it uh in keeping with you know everything that he has ever done uh just you know whatever is best for his shot at power doesn't matter he'll sell the country out um yeah this i don't i don't that's it's this it'll be a real turning point uh this vote like you this will really determine i don't know it'll
Starting point is 00:06:34 it'll be very telling of uh what how the picture is going to come into focus in the next few years if they're just still unable to like you know detach themselves from this i don't know this identity of being loyal to maga nation and all this shit yeah i think we're you know better like i think it's important that they come around i think we're better off not having an openly fascist party uh in america but i think that if they choose to you know ignore not convict on this i think that's where we're at the gop has officially you know planted its flag with fascism and authoritarianism so yeah um california mitch mcconnell uh is that the new moscow mitch yep right exactly he's a he's fucking rose twitter mitch mcconnell now yeah he uh no just because there's a california a
Starting point is 00:07:33 california man uh was i believe arrested for stealing some documents off mitch from mitch mcconnell in the capital raid so that goes to show you it's not just a bunch of granola chewing, hemp clothed, wearing nose ring, having, you know, hippies out here. There's there's patriots because it's a gigantic state. But yeah, that was just trending because, yeah, there's the slow trickle of people going to jail from the raid continues. And one thing to point out, you know, a lot of people are like, why are they letting people out, you know, and comparing it to other things? I mean, yes, there's definitely disparity on how lenient some judges are being. But there are other instances where they are very much intentionally letting people out to let them further incriminate themselves and show and reveal who their network of co-conspirators are that's the other tactic of letting some of these people out including laptop lady daria
Starting point is 00:08:32 who stole the laptop apparently the second she got out she started deleting things and talking to other people and they're like yeah that's why we let like we we get a bigger picture when we let them out sometimes and just monitor them so i don't know that this will continue uh and probably get even more and more intense but anyway yep callie callie mitch mcconnell is out here um i wonder if that will change how he feels about uh whether that was treasonous or whether Trump deserves to be impeached. The fact that somebody was gone after his files. Probably not.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Lonzo is trending. Lonzo Ball, I'm assuming. Lonzo Ball. He's trending. You know, because apparently he is on, the Pelicans are like, we're down to trade him and JJ Redick. Damn. So this is funny.
Starting point is 00:09:28 There was a tweet that I was just pointing out to like, remember a second ago, like everybody in the ball family was in the league. And now like that whole thing is just kind of falling apart. Now it's not just Lonzo's. He's up for trades. Uh, what?
Starting point is 00:09:41 Who's the youngest one? Leangelo. He's like in the G league. Oh, is he the youngest the one who just got drafted yeah really yeah he waited he had a oh oh the middle one you mean the middle one oh yeah yeah and then lamello yeah and then lamello is he's on the bench you know i mean he he's the youngest to ever have a triple double like he's he's got he shows flashes yeah yeah absolutely so did lonzo you know i'm i was he went to ucla and i was there i was like maybe to ever have a triple-double. He shows flashes. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:10:05 So did Lonzo. He went to UCLA, and I was there. I was like, maybe this kid can do it. And he didn't. But much luck to you. I mean, they're playing in minutes, interestingly. He played 30 minutes in their last game. But that doesn't mean that they don't want to trade
Starting point is 00:10:26 him right but who's gonna yeah i think it's just there's an openness who knows if you got something maybe maybe you know it's not a sure thing but yeah i don't know i don't know who could i wonder if there's a team out there that could help help him realize his full self his full potential yeah um a lot of people kobe is trending obviously it is the one year anniversary of his death um so i mean yeah it's i i think a lot of people are just surprised that it's been a year um because it's been a long year but also one in which nothing really happened because we've all been locked up um but yeah i don't know yeah amazing i know there's like a lot of um there aren't going to be any like tributes on uh like for nba teams apparently because the family was asking like we don't we're really asking to not
Starting point is 00:11:20 to do that yeah it seems like uh vanessa bryant is asking people to you know not especially don't like dwell on the details of the death and just you know yeah which i can i can fully appreciate and understand very traumatic and then mike lindell is trending in happier news. Mike Lindell. So he's not with our girl, Jane Krakowski. So that was the Jane Krakowski, Mike Lindell, hot, hot goss was apparently false. They both were like, what? No. I'm somewhat skeptical that he was as outraged as he pretended to be.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Yeah, by suing her. I still highly suspect that he was the one who started that rumor. Or no, not suing her. Sorry. Suing the Daily Mail, rightfully. Right. He's suing the Daily Mail. right he's doing the daily mail but i also feel like of of the people of all the people who could have started such a rumor uh i feel like he would be the one that is totally i yeah i would totally buy he planted this rumor to completely distract from the fact that he was in free fall uh and then
Starting point is 00:12:43 he got banned on twitter like he needed he needed something to kind of be like what the heck them oh wait that guy sells pillows but he's also you know who would be cool me and jane krakowski why don't you say put that always sure he had a crush on her um he is also a notable trump sycophant and trump has been known to spread rumors about himself and then deny the rumors about himself so that uh he has a chance to you know make up lies about himself that people will believe yeah and and repeat them twice i like how he just wants 75 000 keep them twice i like how you just want 75 000 that's what he's suing for of at least 75 yeah like you know maybe low hanging fruit it's like no no no the whole key to this is you plant stories about yourself then you sue for libel but you do like under 100 grand because that's like nothing
Starting point is 00:13:38 to them and you get people get you talking it It's a scam, baby. I do this shit all the time. Anyway, shout out to him. One of the worst people we got in America. At a time when we got a lot of bad ones. So, you know, that's a highly coveted position. And then Twitter dunked on you. We have no Twitter anyway. So, goodbye.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Goodbye. All right. Those are the things that are trending this Tuesday afternoon. We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Wear a mask. Wash your hands.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Stay inside. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we'll talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. Kay hasn't heard from her sister in seven years. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project.
