I'm Jack. That is DJ Daniel. you get your podcasts. I need to make one now. Sadly, I don't, but that's a really good idea. How are you? I'm good. It's, you know, it's the beginning of the week.
Starting point is 00:02:55 I am alive and well and, you know, I'm good. How are you doing? Oh, man. You know, living. All right. A little inspo for our East coast brethren. Uh, the, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:09 the East coast of the country is buried in snow. Uh, heavily this, there is a video of a Panda, uh, just loving playing in snow. Get bundled up, go out there.
Starting point is 00:03:24 We'll get bundled up. out there we'll get bundled up watch the video yes uh don't watch the video then get bundled up because you might lose momentum get bundled up watch the video go out there and slide down a hill head first on your back that is uh panda style so much fun wow um they're just having a blast yeah the the panda is having fun that is uh it's undeniable animal behaviorists who are like somebody wrote in the comments let me let me give them credit somebody wrote in the comments that animal behaviorists are like what you say is fun is actually just the animal uh mimicking our version of fun. And it's like,
Starting point is 00:04:06 nah, man, that, that Panda's having a fucking blast. Just JC Duncan animals don't have fun animals. Just display behavior that we project onto them as being fun. Internet experts. And then we Pandas.
Starting point is 00:04:23 I was going to say, man, shut up. Yeah, exactly. But yeah. So, I mean,
Starting point is 00:04:31 it's, it is, it's not just a sign that animals can have fun. It is fun. Crystallized baked into a, a crystalline form and then smoked. Hell yeah. Marilyn Manson is a predator and an abuser you
Starting point is 00:04:49 know yeah sometimes it is the last people you expect and sometimes it's marilyn manson um yeah i right you know i always like when you find out that under the sort of carefully designed horror movie goth aesthetic that he like all his vibes and all his behavior suggested like a very straightforward frat guy. Like he would just like hang at the Playboy house and like love to talk about. I don't know. You know, the stuff that frat guys like about okay yeah but uh so the actor evan rachel wood uh has testified before congress about her experience with domestic and sexual violence and with somebody she was in a relationship with and somebody she wasn't and uh she has now come out and said you know that marilyn manson was abused her horribly over the course of years groomed her when she was a teenager uh she's now 33 he's 52 um so it started when she was a teenager he was in his late 30s yeah
Starting point is 00:06:06 fucking terrible creepy town that we live in yeah I mean it's I guess it's everywhere but it is absolutely everywhere and I think it's especially bad when Marilyn Manson was
Starting point is 00:06:23 I think somebody who was like a counterculture icon in a way that was like, we hope that people can look at this as just another form of normal in terms of, and I don't mean their behavior. I mean, like the world of Marilyn Manson's music, like the music of that time. It was like, let's blame the music for like the Columbine shooting. I remember that being like an interview. And it was like he had such a such a positive take on that yeah that's right he was in bowling for columbine yeah but then but then you know what fuck all that yeah man it's uh doesn't matter yeah just being a terrible abusive person it's just like you wash away any of your i don't know it's just horrible um four other women have come forward and posted their own experiences of abuse with from uh marilyn manson uh aka
Starting point is 00:07:14 brian something uh i forget what his real name is but uh brian warner yes um wakanda disney plus Brian Warner. Yes. Wakanda Disney Plus. Some version, some grouping of those words is trending because writer-director Ryan Coogler is making a new Marvel TV show. Let's go. It will be set in the kingdom of Wakanda. Burr, burr, burr, burr, burr. Yeah. I think everybody's excited for Black Panther 2.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Yeah. Which releases in 2022. Also by Googler. Also by Googler. Written and directed by him. You know, you can say, of course, and I'm very glad that he is making it. But there also was a direction where this could have gone. Totally. Like Creed. You could have gone like Creed.
Starting point is 00:08:08 He directed Creed. Creed was great, and then he kind of produced Creed 2, but passed it off. So the fact that he's writing and directing Black Panther 2, it's not really specified how he's going to be involved with the show, but it does seem he'll be heavily involved uh so we'll we'll see but that's pretty dope to kind of imagine to more fully imagine the universe uh of wakanda yeah definitely that'll be fun um i'm excited about it i love black I love Black Panther. Yeah, I did too. Myanmar is trending. So the leader who was, you know, it's been a real rollercoaster ride with her, Miss Aung San Suu Kyi. I'm sure I'm fucking butchering that.
Starting point is 00:09:00 So apologies. But so she was initially like hailed as a yeah i think she she won one of the major prizes because she she was kind of like an obama figure who like came to power at a time when people were not uh you know she was very symbolic of hope and change and then she was in power when there was a genocide right Rohingya Muslims in her country and she was acutely stand by and watch it happen unhelpful and very much so yeah so that uh last year a couple years ago but now uh she has been detained in a pre-dawn raid by uh her uh by the military there's it's basically a military coup in myanmar um military leaders uh they've they've also seized the nation's telecommunication networks um
Starting point is 00:10:07 and or at least those the networks are suffering constant interruptions um and they're claiming interestingly that it is they're doing this because of election fraud so it's sort of what a more successful uh version of trump's plan to overthrow a democratically elected figure um i actually don't know if there was election fraud in this case but um it's just interesting that that is the explanation du jour among military uh insurrectionists i guess yeah it's um it's it's it's a situation that um i think paints a very scary picture of of what could have happened um thankfully as you know according to according to twitter this was a bloodless coup no one was no lives were taken it was simply a season of power since i see simply but like this was a bloodless coup. No lives were taken. It was simply a seizing of power.
Starting point is 00:11:07 I shouldn't say simply, but it was a seizure or a seizing of power. They've declared a state of emergency for a year. The EU is threatening sanctions against Myanmar. It's definitely setting the table for a Robert Evans style. It could happen here if things were a little bit more organized. Yeah, and we don't know. It's still early days.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Very early. And finally, these Nike GoFly E's are trending. These are hands-free shoes. So they start out as sort of Go fly ease are trending. These are hands-free shoes. They, so they start out as sort of like, they look like they are made for somebody who has like extremely high
Starting point is 00:11:55 arches. Like they're kind of folded in the middle, like folded up almost in a, in a high heel pattern. But the reason they uh rest that that is their resting position is so that you can slide your feet into the front part and then step down and the back part snaps into place and they're just dope looking nikes yeah um let me ask you something um how often do you i mean like when it comes to, when you get a new pair of shoes, do you lace your shoes every time you wear them and tie them up and do a, you know, do a knot? Oh, Daniel.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Never. There we go. shoes that would be the uh my air force ones that i have loosely laced and have not had to retie since i laced them for the first time and just slip them on keep them 84 years ago yeah exactly uh yeah keep them near the door so that i can pop them on and off when I have to go outside since we're a shoe free household. Amen. Same here. And I think I think more than anything, like while styles have certainly sort of leaned toward people making shoes or lacing their shoes in a way that's like laceless or untied or like removing some of the excess lace. I think this is just like a step going forward in that same direction. I love the fact that these are accessible,
Starting point is 00:13:28 that they're better for the differently abled, that like it is, it is, it's a shoe for everybody. But I think any sort of concentration on like the lack of laces, I think is, is missing the point when people have been trying to get rid of laces on their shoes at this point for like decades.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Yeah. This will be extremely popular in la i do wonder um you know in the east coast in new york they're like very low-cut um so you might get dirty ankles uh if you're rocking this but but, um, you know, the same way that vans and like slides and, uh, are, are more popular out here, or at least more, uh,
Starting point is 00:14:12 not necessarily more popular, but more reasonable. Yeah. More. Yeah. On a day to day basis. More realistic to where. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:14:19 exactly. I can see these being very popular. Must cop. Must cop. Uh, for the team behind the Daily Zeitgeist. Yep. Yep.
Starting point is 00:14:30 All right. That is going to do it for today. We are back tomorrow with a whole ass episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Wear a mask. Stay at home. Don't do nothing about white supremacy.
Starting point is 00:14:45 And we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. and did something no other woman had done before, tried to assassinate the president of the United States.
