Hello, the internet, and welcome to the Geist 2K Bug. Courtesy of Johnny Davis. He knows. He knows what's up. It's coming, baby. It's coming.
Starting point is 00:02:18 On Wednesday night, live show. If you don't have your tickets yet, you're slipping. You need to go get them. Yeah, falling. Can't get up. But but please come you've seen the tone of our instagram post please visit us please visit us in the home been too long yeah um yeah no i'm excited i started fucking with the outline a little bit over the weekend uh yeah i started doing good to get back into it yeah yeah mostly when i said fucking with the outline it was just like the outline of my outline of my physique no but yeah go to momenthouse.com slash the daily
Starting point is 00:02:51 zeitgeist get your tickets be interactive it'll be fun chris croft is going to be there anna's going to be there we got a chat going off so everybody can talk and say how cool or funny or bad whatever we get in the chat interact with us please come and say we're cool and funny that would be really great please go please uh all right uh i am jack you are miles and here are some things that are trending drake is trending because kanye doxed him yeah doxed his ass like on purpose or yeah just doesn't know how to use technology they're beefing again drake has a track out with trippy red and he's you know i think he said he's like washed out you know
Starting point is 00:03:30 says some shit like it kind of is over type shit and the song he says that yeah like there's like a line where he's like acknowledging he's like yeah i might be getting a little spicy with kanye and this whole thing is like he posted this google map screenshot with drake's address on it on instagram and then he deleted it kanye then posted like a new thing where it said before it's like pusha t has been added to the group chat and then pusha t's first post in that group chat was a picture of the joker the uh joaquin phoenix joker and like all this other shit about like i'm a fucking little nerdy motherfucker. Like you will not recover from this.
Starting point is 00:04:07 And if you remember a couple of summers ago, the whole thing was like, you are hiding a child. Yes. And the tale of Addy Dawn and all that back and forth that was going on between Kanye and him. I mean, push a T fucking just rapidly dismantled Drake because they're not,
Starting point is 00:04:24 they're not, that's not, that's not Drake's forte he makes hits Pusha T will come for your neck so what kicked that off in the first place was it a Pusha T did like a vague reference to a Drake like this
Starting point is 00:04:38 and then Drake came back at him yeah I can't Jack so much has happened and there's something to do with but also something where like he was supposed to fuck up Drake's Adidas him yeah i can't jack so much has happened and yeah there's something to do with it so much but also something where like he was supposed to fuck up drake's adidas deal or some other shit right i don't know it's all that shit seems so meaningless like after 18 months i'm like uh i kind of remember and then he also took shots on another thing where he said checks over stripes i can't look it's it's it's long-winded anyways uh shout out to anybody who's following this uh and also waiting on kanye's album which
Starting point is 00:05:12 is supposedly gonna drop on friday um you know r.i.p to your expectations emotions but we're we're thinking of you the people who are still waiting on that Kanye album. Henry or Omri, the way it's spelled with an I, is a hurricane that hit the East Coast and there was massive flooding in Tennessee over the weekend. So just these are your sort of requisite climate disasters of the past seven days. Tennessee flooding was pretty unprecedented and just horrifying,
Starting point is 00:05:51 and people died, and yeah. Wow. Yeah, just more and more to pile on as we grip with the reality of what pollution is doing to the planet and we say pollution because climate change feels too passive it's pollution yeah pollution from very specific places uh and such as i need to address that massive corporation such as you not using a wooden straw yes that's my main beef are there oh have you tried the bamboo straws those work better yeah those are great they're they can split but they're definitely five to six times
Starting point is 00:06:32 better than the paper straws yeah yeah yeah in a way like that kind of has more like has appeal to like the child in me where it's like oh shit wooden straw drinking out of the way yeah yeah it's natural put that straight into an orange. Yeah. Like the commercials. Did you ever try that as a kid? Tropicana, yeah. And then you suck on it, and it's just like...
Starting point is 00:06:52 Yeah, you just inhale a bunch of fucking rind. Because you suck it so hard. So somebody was asking, are there green flag movies? This is something that was trending. He said, hey, Film Twitter, I got a question. We all know green flag movies this is something that was trending he said hey film twitter i got a question we all know red flag movies fight club the joker etc that we all can spot on site but is there any green flag movies movies that you hear someone say it makes you instantly trust or like a person um so this is too this is too subjective yeah i mean probably too much stock in people's film
Starting point is 00:07:30 taste i i think you can like this is a conversation you can have as in like oh i always kind of have these sorts of feelings for people who like this i don't think you can objectively say anybody who likes fight club is fucked up. Although the director of Fight Club was saying that his daughter had a friend who's named Max, whose favorite movie was Fight Club. And he told her, stay away from Max. Stop talking to Max.
Starting point is 00:07:59 He doesn't realize what he's getting into. Yeah. He's like, that movie was satire. And based on my experience with the audience, a lot of people didn't realize that. What's a movie for you? I guess, look, if I'm going to do it, it'll just be like if I'm, you know, chilling and you meet somebody new and then they quote a movie or something, I go, oh, OK.
Starting point is 00:08:21 OK. OK. Right now, it's definitely I think you should leave. Like I am. Okay. Right now, it's definitely, I think you should leave. Right. That gives you shorthand with people really well. He's got too much crap on. The chin kills. You're like, yep, my people.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Yep. Yeah, that one for me. I've said this a few times, but on MySpace, if someone had their favorite movie as Belly, I was like, yep, there they are there's my people there's my people not a great movie but you were just so hip-hop brained that you're like this is this is it this is it is um yeah i mean jaws always is always good to just kind of i feel like it it holds a similar place in a lot of people's lives. Like I've heard a lot of people talk about like growing up and like watching
Starting point is 00:09:07 jaws just compulsively, like as like that, that was what they did to kill time when they were a kid. Um, right. So that's, it's always a fun shared experience, but it doesn't,
Starting point is 00:09:18 I'm sure there are plenty of shitty people who love jaws. Senator Tom Cotton from Arkansas, Mr. Send in the military favorite movie jaws no really no i don't know oh god that would have that would have fucked me up though i was talking to my friend who was on a flight with tom cotton the senator and they said he's he's a big diva on an airplane like and also he was he was like the seat the seat he was on like the light strip was like malfunctioning and he started like smashing it like in the plane because like the
Starting point is 00:09:52 light kept flickering and he said it got to the point though credit to him he pulled off like the panel and then fixed it and then like reassembled it he was just so pissed off and i was like oh boy one of the worst necks in the senate that guy yeah all right well let's take a quick break and we'll be right back in 1982 atari players had one thing on their minds sword quest This wasn't just a new game. Atari promised 150 grand in prizes to four finalists. But the prizes disappeared. And what started as a video game promotion became one of the most controversial moments
Starting point is 00:10:37 in 80s pop culture. I just don't believe they exist. My reaction, shock and awe. That sword was amazing. It was so beautiful. I'm Jamie Loftus. Join me this spring for The Legend of Sword Quest, a podcast about the fall of Atari and the disappearing Sword Quest prizes. We'll follow the quest for lost treasure across four decades.
Starting point is 00:10:58 It's almost like a metaphor for the industry and Atari itself in a way. Listen to The Legend of Sword Quest on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This summer, the nation watched as the Republican nominee for president was the target of two assassination attempts, separated by two months. These events were mirrored nearly 50 years ago when President Gerald Ford faced two attempts on his life in less than three weeks. President Gerald R. Ford came stunningly close to being the victim of an assassin today. And these are the only two times we know of that a
Starting point is 00:11:37 woman has tried to assassinate a U.S. president. One was the protege of infamous cult leader Charles Manson. I always felt like Lynette was kind of his right-hand woman. The other, a middle-aged housewife working undercover for the FBI in a violent revolutionary underground. Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore. The story of one strange and violent summer. This is Rip Current, available now with new episodes every Thursday. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I've been thinking about you.
Starting point is 00:12:13 I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session. 24 hours. BPM 110.
Starting point is 00:12:30 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
Starting point is 00:12:45 This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot, the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves, the Biscuits. I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean? The Boone County Rebels will stay the Boone County Rebels with the image of the Biscuits. It's right here in black and white in print. A lion. An individual that came to the school saying that God sent him to talk to me about the
Starting point is 00:13:43 mascot switch. As a leader, you choose hills that you want to die on. Why would we want to be the losing team? I'd just take all the other stuff out of it. On segregation academies, when civil rights said that we need to integrate public schools, these charter schools were exempt from that. Bigger than a flag or mascot. You have to be ready for serious backlash.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Listen to Rebel Spirit on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you have to be ready for serious backlash listen to rebel spirit on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts and we're back and uh respect biden is also trending just wow just an earnest plea on behalf of it's it's the top trending topic as we record this and it's just so much like i don't know i think it's i don't know who's behind it clearly i mean if you look at the polls he's slipping in the polls uh and dipped below 50 i think last week so you just see a lot of blue check people who are down with the sickness or the establishment and they're just like yeah man i respect biden because he always does the right thing except right direct the treasury to stop investing in fossil fuels on the heels of that report i don't know okay sure but you know it's just one of those hashtags where people are it does seem
Starting point is 00:15:06 like the mainstream media has like this past couple weeks has been i think instructive like i i've definitely in the past couple years had the degree to which like the military industrial complex is a key source for the mainstream media like I've sort of had that wool pulled out from over my eyes a little bit. And like just the degree to which the narrative is Biden bungled Afghanistan, like without acknowledging that it was like an unwinnable, like kind of eventually it needed to happen. Like it, it seems like they've kind of gone pentagon on on the take
Starting point is 00:15:47 on that one uh the the mainstream media yeah well unless they we should have done it longer we should have expanded it out we should have you know yeah well then you'll just see now it's like well there's a lot of natural minerals there that uh they get all worth around a trillion dollars that i saw a headline is like the world desperately needs and you're like oh my god you're already putting the fucking crosshairs on this thing again jesus like sort out the fucking humanitarian mess first before you're like we gotta go for mineral extraction uh alex jones is trending because he said maybe trump is a dumbass as we talk about on tomorrow's episode. Trump is... Trump came out and said,
Starting point is 00:16:28 hey, I got the vaccine. You know, you could get the vaccine. You should get the vaccine. Although you should have your rights. You should... You gotta have your rights. You gotta have your rights. Give himself that out.
Starting point is 00:16:41 But, you know, this is gonna be hard on some people. BS bs trump that's a lie you're not stupid just two weeks ago they said it was 65 then 40 saw a number put up about pfizer shots 30 some percent because they just want to tell you it doesn't work so you're running up the new damn shot and then they'll tell you in six months that one doesn't work it's called rope a dope shame on you trump seriously hey if one doesn't work. It's called rope-a-dope. Shame on you, Trump. Seriously. Hey, if you don't have the good sense to save yourself and your political career, that's okay.
Starting point is 00:17:11 At least you're going to get some good Republicans elected. And, you know, we like you. But, my God, maybe you're not that bright. Maybe Trump's actually a dumbass. Hey. So. Yeah. Well, like we said, the paradox of this movement, man. man yeah you get everybody hopped up on misinformation like there's nowhere to land yeah it's not good for the economy for for all
Starting point is 00:17:35 these people to be doubting the vax yeah creating a ben shapiro also had a hot take on a vaccine because now that the FDA approved Pfizer, there's going to be a bunch of vaccine mandates. And Ben Shapiro was basically saying that refusing to get the vaccine is the equivalent of somebody with obesity not losing weight and saying that we're going to have to stop providing health care to people who are overweight. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Okay, Ben. Which is, yeah, very nuanced, thoughtful take. From Ben the handyman. Yeah. And finally, Basquiat is trending because of a Jay-Z, Beyonce, tiffany's ad just wrap your head around that there's a jay-z and beyonce ad for tiffany and co where they are posed next to a never before seen jean-michel basquiat painting a work of art that has never been seen by the public because it's been insulated by wealth to the point it's like and i bet you never seen this from a guy who died in 88
Starting point is 00:18:50 how about that right um it's i mean a lot of people are have a lot of different takes whether it's like just the wealth aspects of like what they're like what it even means to like just flex stunt on people with these like multi-million dollar art pieces or just like how much of a fucking smack in the face it would be to jean-michel basquiat if he knew like wait hold on you're tiffany like like jewelry do you know like about my art like and what i was saying with any of it about you know uh critiques of systems of oppression or class struggle okay okay close with. Okay. Clothes with a diamond ring. To sell diamonds. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Yeah. But fortunately, diamonds are a completely unproblematic industry. Yeah. Great. Right. Exactly. All right. Well, those are some of the things that are trending.
Starting point is 00:19:38 We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Go get your ticket to the live show. And until we talk to y'all tomorrow, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Wear a mask. Get the vaccine. Don't do nothing about white supremacy.
Starting point is 00:19:54 We'll talk to y'all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. Kay hasn't heard from her sister in seven years. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. What was that?
