What happens when a professional football player's career ends and the applause fades and the screaming fans move on i am going
Starting point is 00:01:46 to share my journey of how i went from christianity to now a hebrew israelite for some former nfl players a new faith provides answers you mix homesteading with guns in church voila you got straight away they try to save everybody listen to spiraled on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts hello the internet and welcome to this episode of the trend of democracy oh uh that's where we're at i am jack that is miles that short show title is courtesy of johnny davis the short show title goat j of Johnny Davis, the short show title GOAT. JD. And here is what's trending.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Lonzo Ball was trending because he had a big game last night. He is apparently one of the league's best three-point shooters in the past month, which if you have followed his career, he used to shoot it from the wrong side of his head. It was ugly as hell. And he started off this season shooting badly. It's not the best form still, but it's wet. Yeah. It's wet.
Starting point is 00:02:55 The numbers don't lie. Yeah. He's shooting 45% in the month of February. He has already put himself, like like when you combine percentage and volume, he's one of the best three point shooters, top 10 for the season, even though he started out really poorly. Um,
Starting point is 00:03:13 and then his brother, uh, Lamello is so fun to watch, man. Yeah. Like I can watch the Hornets nonstop. They're so fun. Yeah. It's hard for me that's non-stop they're so fun yeah it's hard for me to accept the ball brothers rise because i hate their father yeah the bar ball is but the worst but it's
Starting point is 00:03:36 the sins of the father and all that you know like the at the end of the day they're their own athletes and they're doing it so fuck like i like I'm not going to, I'm like, yep. All right. Respect where it's due, but it's nice to see them, you know, some SoCal natives do their thing. Yeah. Yeah. Lamello might be rookie of the year.
Starting point is 00:03:52 I think he's probably. He's in with a good shot. Don favorite. Um, yeah, but he, he's just, he's such a good passer.
Starting point is 00:04:01 It's so fun to watch. Um, yeah, there is like a fluency to his game. That's very, I don't know. Yeah. It's so fun to watch. Um, yeah, there is like a fluency to his game. That's very, I don't know. Yeah. It's,
Starting point is 00:04:08 it's, it's nice to watch. It's like, he's, it's, he's really understands what he's going to do next. And it's like, he's feeling the game in a different way that allows him to like express
Starting point is 00:04:17 himself even further, which is what I really like. Yeah. And like the whole team now makes the extra pass and like, you can tell that they, yeah, he just brings a new level to it. It also raises the question of whether college basketball is going to continue to be a thing because LeVar Ball sent him over to Australia
Starting point is 00:04:41 to play pro for a season. over to australia to play pro for a season and like the i've seen analysis of like his game and other rookies games and they're like he does things like get is able to get to the line at a rate that is uncommon for a rookie and the only other person who's a rookie who can do that is also somebody who like played pro ball overseas and is like a rookie in name only right um these rhinos yeah damn rhinos in the nba i know that's what uh donovan mitchell was calling ben simmons when he won rookie of the the Year. Alright, let's talk about the Cuomos. Cuomos.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Cuomo time. Andrew Cuomo in News That Broke last week is a creep to people in person and even when the cameras aren't on. He is also a creep when cameras are on
Starting point is 00:05:46 uh and to people just through his politics uh but yeah he's he's being accused of all sorts of uh bullying sexual uh sexual harassment uh just generally um predatory and aggressive and yeah shitty behavior from a man in power who'd have thought it's shocking i know i know yeah but anyways chris cuomo is now saying he feels like he can't cover that uh story for cnn uh even though he was like the number one dude to cover when andrew cuomo was like getting a bunch of really positive yeah when he was pandemic boss yeah exactly uh okay okay fredo and you heard it out my mouth chris cuomo um yeah you i i that's an interesting way to say like i must recuse myself which honest objectively is the right thing to do right but it just rings hollow and you're like y'all were just doing brother on brother the city of brotherly love interviews uh giving him a platform on cnn
Starting point is 00:06:59 and it's also just showing another interesting part of the democratic party too because these allegations i guess some some will be considered truthful and worth investigating. And others, like when Tara Reid was accusing Joe Biden, will just be somewhat pivoted off of ignored. What have you? But this is, you know, this is a I guess for Andrew Cuomo, we'll see what kind of investigation he faces. But, yeah, come on, Chris. Miss me with the oh man like i can't do all this like that this is a conflict of interest it's like you've been
Starting point is 00:07:30 conflicted your whole time fredo yeah yeah uh madison cawthorne speaking of men in power uh who are pieces of shit uh so this dude is kind of known as the rising star in the Republican party. Uh, he is like a, you know, guns rights, uh, handsome 22 year old dude. He's in a wheelchair. He's like, you know, just charismatic, cutie fascist guy. Yeah. Like a backstory. That's like, well, don't, you know, he's had an interesting life, but his backstory is riddled with fucking deceptions and half-truths and shit.
Starting point is 00:08:12 And now we're finding out about what he was like in college. So there are renewed accounts of his sexual misconduct, but they got 150 of his classmates to sign a letter saying it was a known fact that this dude was a predator. He would ask women to go on joyrides, what he called joyrides, in his white Dodge Challenger. And then he would take young women to secluded areas, lock the doors and proceed to make unwanted sexual advances. He also, you know, was known to say racist, sexually inappropriate things. And just this is a little piece of context. His small posse of homies in college were known on campus as the douche crew. His small posse of homies in college were known on campus as the Douche Crew. So shout out to the Douche Crew. Fitting. Can you imagine those text threads when they're like, yo, Madison Cawthorn is running for office. They're like, from the Douche Crew?
Starting point is 00:09:16 They're like, yes. They're like, no, send me the link now. And they're like, fuck out of here. No. This piece of shit. He's running as report okay okay or demogra I mean it doesn't really matter but like still like like wow um I wonder what I wonder what kind of reckoning uh he'll face like as his has there been any comment from his office or anything
Starting point is 00:09:37 since or yeah so his his response was uh I I want to one day have a daughter who would not be. So he's, again, the toxic masculine anything of only being able to process something as a father to a daughter, except he doesn't even have a daughter yet. He's just talking about, like, theoretically, if I had a daughter, I wouldn't want her to be you know preyed upon but then he also says and if I had a son I wouldn't want him to face allegations of sexual assault for trying to kiss someone so yeah oh also the the car accident that left him disabled, there's all sorts of questions surrounding that. abandoned him in the car accident in a burning vehicle and he was found dead and then like God
Starting point is 00:10:50 brought him back from the dead and his friend was like no I pulled him out the second I was able to and he was just found to be discombobulated but not right who's never pronounced dead uh so just you know i mean the self-mythologizing politicians do on both sides you're like like seriously i don't give a fuck if you're diet jesus like just fucking deliver me minimum wage and health care yes but uh i'm sure there are plenty of republican Republican money people who saw the fact that he lied that blatantly. Easily. That easily. And about his friend and claimed his friend left him for dead when his friend actually saved his life.
Starting point is 00:11:40 And were like, this kid's got it. This kid's going places. He's got it he's got it baby bunny whaler is trending r.i.p the last of the whalers yeah passed away 73 years old 73 i mean he was the last one because it was i mean peter tosh bob marley and him yeah uh and you know peter tosh died in the 80s or was murdered in the 80s so yeah, yeah, Bunny Whaler. And he was like one of those people who like would always another person would be on bills at music festivals. I went to and I'm like, oh, fuck it.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Bunny Whaler's here. Fuck yeah. Go watch Bunny Whaler real quick. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, like, you know, childhood friends with Bob Marley and like they were they they did it all together as, you know, the Whalers. Yeah. So, yeah, it all together as, you know, the Wailers. Yeah. So yeah, it's a lot of music legends.
Starting point is 00:12:28 I mean, even like U-Roy is another, you know, Jamaican music legend that passed away last week. So it's, you know, times. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. A little more obscure. Like you'd have to be kind of into reggae
Starting point is 00:12:37 to know about U-Roy. But yeah, it's, you know, people getting older. But he was only 73. Yeah. And finally, Greg Abb older. But he was only 73. Yeah. And finally, Greg Abbott is trending. Oh, my God. Because he's seen enough of this pandemic.
Starting point is 00:12:53 And it's time to open back up. Holy shit, folks. According to him. Holy shit, folks. We are fucked with people like this in office and running whole states like texas he said now this is because he said i'm done with uh coronavirus anythings like we're it's 20 it might as well be to the year 2000 the way we're getting down he says quote too many texans have been sidelined from employment opportunities too many small business owners have struggled to pay
Starting point is 00:13:22 their bills you know there's ways you can do that as a leader legislatively. But anyway, going on, he said, this must end. It is now time to open Texas 100% effective next Wednesday. All businesses, regardless of classifications, are allowed to open to 100% capacity. And I think he's also taking reversing the mask mandate. A friend of mine who is a business owner in the austin area is like well we're not going to change anything we do but the fuck and i get it numbers are going down mortality rates are going down but it's not like it's like you're saying you got only
Starting point is 00:14:00 part of a house fire out and then being like all right we're good and then the fire department packs up their hose like there's still flames that can reemerge if we don't suffocate them now so this is how not to deal with that whole story that we might be nearing herd immunity is like all right well let's speed that up and just kill everyone yeah who was gonna get it i think the thing was they heard that right and boom yep that's because i mean that's the things he's pointing to. We're learning more about vaccination, how it's spread. Like, the numbers are going down.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Get people vaccinated first, asshole. Like, focus on that. And that's a whole other thing. Like, how are they going to handle all that shit, too? You know? I know a lot of. We already have a problem with access already. Like, the first group, or maybe the second group, like people over 65 have been able to get it for,
Starting point is 00:14:47 uh, like quote, able to get it for, you know, uh, weeks now. And I know so many people over the, over the age of 65 who are like this system.
Starting point is 00:14:57 I mean, I, they're not in Texas, but the system is just very, uh, fucked. It's tough. I mean, you'd hope that you know there's like you could create a whole like an employment scheme with actually getting like a very robust campaign
Starting point is 00:15:14 to inform people about getting vaccinated that doesn't necessarily of people calling outreach like trying to make sure the people that are need to be vaccinated are vaccinated rather than like hey if y'all know how to use a fucking website and can hit that reload quick enough uh maybe you'll get vaccinated yeah so that like nobody's doing that nobody's designing a better system uh finding a way to distribute the thing that we have to all the people who need it but then you know all all the smartest people are uh working on at fucking hedge funds and uh we're working on like bitcoin and fucking uh sneaker retail sneaker insider trading yeah jesus christ they need what all we know about that story is we need an sec but for stock x yeah you know uh they are the sec just need to get involved we talk about that on is we need an sec, but for stock X. Yeah. You know what I mean? Uh,
Starting point is 00:16:06 or the sec just need to get involved. We talk about that on, on tomorrow's episode, but, uh, about the like kind of sneaker reseller game. But one of the quotes in the article that we talk about is, uh, stock X senior economist.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Like they have an economist who works for StockX. I mean, when that much money starts flying through there, like, yeah, it makes you got to be smart. I feel like this is not a weird place for sneaker heads to like, you know, get shit off their, you know, racks anymore. Yeah. Yeah. just the the article and the amount of thought and energy and intelligence and you know uh inspiration that goes into just uh finding a way to prey on people and get money from them is like disgust the other is that like stock x could be massive massive massive in the future like just as a stock exchange of of things i mean it already is pretty big but
Starting point is 00:17:05 anyways that is what's trending right now we are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show until then be kind to each other be kind to yourselves wear a mask stay inside don't do nothing about white supremacy and we will talk to you all tomorrow.
