Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. What's up, everyone? I'm Ago Vodam. My next guest, it's Will Ferrell. Woo, woo, woo, woo, woo. My dad gave me the best advice ever. He goes, just give it a shot.
Starting point is 00:00:15 But if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the, Cat, just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be... Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. When a group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist, they take matters into their own hands. I vowed I will be his last target. He is not going to get away with this. He's going to get what he deserves. We always say that trust your girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe, on the IHartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Lori Siegel, and this is mostly human, a tech podcast through a human lens. This week, an interview with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. I think society is going to decide that creators of AI products bear a tremendous amount of responsibility to the products we put out in the world. An in-depth conversation with a man who's shaping our future. My highest order bit is to not destroy the world with AI. Listen to mostly human on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to your favorite shows.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Hey, it's Nora Jones, and my podcast playing along is back with more of my favorite musicians. Check out my newest episode with Josh Grobin. You related to the Phantom at that point. Yeah, I was definitely the Phantom in that. That's so funny. Share each day with me each night, each night. Morning. Listen to Nora Jones is playing along on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of The Trend Lot. That one courtesy of anadium silver on the Discord. Why have the San Lot been coming up so much lately? I don't remember the context. Well, we were talking about Wendy Pfeffercorn, the Lifeguard. Wendy FefferCorn and the Lifeguard, yeah. Oh, right, right. Hot life cards.
Starting point is 00:02:37 So what's they could do his name? They do with the glasses? Smalls? Smalls. Was he smalls? No. I don't know. Kid with glasses, sandlot.
Starting point is 00:02:47 I know everyone's screaming at their squints. That's squintz. And that's when squints got us into the biggest pickle we've ever been in. Do you remember there was a rumor back in the fucking late 90s that Steevo was squintz as a kid? No. It was like the Marilyn Manson Paul from the Wonder Years. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was like that just sort of like, no. More of that genre of urban legend, you know, just being like, this person is actually this person with glasses.
Starting point is 00:03:15 That's now just what AI does. Right. You mean, you're like, whoa, tell me about Steveau's career. It's like he was in the sandlot as a boy. Yeah. Just mash it together. Put it together. Clavicular is actually the kid from.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Oh. Well, young Sheldon. Yeah. Yeah. Did you know that? No, I didn't. That makes so much sense. Unfortunately, the kid from Young Sheldon didn't have glasses,
Starting point is 00:03:40 so we can't quite pull that off. They need to have glasses to really throw you for a loop. Lovicular was one of the twins that Uncle Jesse had on full house. There you go. Yeah. That's good. That's good. That's the timing.
Starting point is 00:03:54 This kid's only fucking 20. I know. It was something from 2006. Jesus Christ. 2006. Fuck, I was going to say the kid from Jerry McGuire's son. He's the son of the kid. Jonathan lit Mickey's son.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I don't know. I don't know. All right. My name's Jack O'Brien. That over there is Miles Gray. This is the episode where we tell you what is trending here on Wednesday, April 15th. Clavicular, who we were just talking about because he was having trouble in some interviews, kind of dealing. Speaking to adults.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Speaking to adults. Speaking to people who weren't just being like, oh, you're so awesome. Like, how do I do girls? How do I do girls? I don't even, dude, I don't even know, man. But hey, get on these fucking, get on these fucking testosterone, treat cycles, do you do some andro, bro. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Get there. Anyways, we had a feeling. I don't know if I said it out loud, but I was like, the, his strategy of being like, yeah, you just do meth. I think you look good. That's one of many. I don't want to say it's all, but it's not all meth. He never said, spoke ill of meth's positive.
Starting point is 00:05:05 It's just funny for somebody who's like 20 to be. It's like, yeah, you're going to look awesome when you're 20, no matter what you do, you're 20. Like people who did massive amounts of drugs looked great when they were 20. That's it just doesn't, it doesn't last like show up then. Yeah, it does. And then it starts showing up later unless, of course, you do way too many drugs when you're 20 and then you have health problems. Like he seemed to last night.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Like he overdosed live on fucking stream last night. It was carried out of a empty club by his security. Like he was the Archduke Franz Ferdinand or some shit after he got shot. It feels like one of those classic images or like someone's like, yeah, yeah, dragging me out. Anyway, he released a statement and said, you know, he was in stable condition and got out. So it wasn't too bad. It sounds like probably a bit of the took too much. category.
Starting point is 00:06:06 But he said, just got home. That was brutal. All of the substances are just a cope, trying to feel neurotypical while being in public. But obviously, this isn't a real solution. The worst part of tonight was my face descending from the life support mask.
Starting point is 00:06:19 What does that mean? I'm not sure of that part. The reactions to that post. Is that meaning like the compression around his face from the life support mask is like fucking with his look? Is that what he posted the, on his Twitter post, he has like a,
Starting point is 00:06:32 like his face is like scratched up. Yeah. And I don't know. But again, I've not heard of a life support mask. I think they put oxygen on you. Yeah, that's what I mean like,
Starting point is 00:06:43 you're not intamated. No, you know what I mean? Like, that's what I was like, oh shit, you were intubated? But if you're like,
Starting point is 00:06:49 do they just have you on some O2? I think they just had them on some O2. That's like some 20 year old dramatic shit. Be like, and I had to get off the life support mask. Yeah. The reactions to the poster mix, there were like his followers who were like,
Starting point is 00:07:02 this isn't the way man, young men and boys. are looking up to you for guidance. We need you here as long as possible. Others sort of took issue with the, like, I OD on drugs at a club on a live stream because I'm neurodivergent explanation. And a lot of people are like, there's many,
Starting point is 00:07:18 like, some people, like, we're sympathetic. We're like, if it's true, then like, you know, there's a lot of other ways. Maybe this isn't the path to you. Is this the first time he's talking about being neurodivergent? Or has he been, like, kind of open about that? I don't know enough about his backstory to know. But, um,
Starting point is 00:07:33 Not many people really seem to like acknowledge that in his like Twitter replies. But I will say this, dude, he definitely needs fucking better friends. The clip of this guy overdosing, it's like, before he gets to this club, he's like out in the streets just off his face. And he goes, oh, my. He's just doing that. He was like, holy shit, dude. Yeah. Holy shit.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Fuck. Then he gets in the club, sits down. And as his like eyes are rolling away like a roll. blade, his boy next to him, asking him if he wants an addie, like an Adderall. Yeah, yeah. So presumably, that's what you do. Wake you up from your. Hey, hey, wake up.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Hey, do you need some uppers right now? No, you don't. I know that's like the dumb kid logic about drugs. It's like up, up, down, right left, right left. Yeah. Oh, dude, I'm way too up off this fucking blow, man. Give me some benzos. Give me some open.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Let me fucking bring my shit down. You're the, no, the worst fucking shit you can do. but like just like just listening to this just the people he's are he's around are so ill-equipped for anything um it it is a little fuck i've like i'm kind of like i'm kind of scared for this guy i'm like oh shit you're you're you're this is not going to end well um this is him right before he's like fully he's like already been like oh fuck i'm i'm passed out and his friends are like laughing at first and then they're kind of like wait what's going on oh you be dude
Starting point is 00:09:03 so he's like his head's fully back this guy's just looking at him like it's so cool and then awkward like looking around yeah
Starting point is 00:09:12 how do you feel how do you feel he's fucked up dude yeah and then he fully gets he fully starts passing out here
Starting point is 00:09:19 and this he goes you want Addy right you want an Addy you want an Adi? That's fucking awful you want an Addy like what
Starting point is 00:09:27 this is like it's bad like this was him right before him trying to to some like woman in the street. He's like, what's,
Starting point is 00:09:34 I'm trying my best to lock in, but a lot of shredding. Oh, damn. He always just fell forward. Brazil. I'm from Brazil. I'm speaking English. Also,
Starting point is 00:09:46 but what's our guy. He can't even like talk to us. He's teetering. Holy shit, dude. I'm trying my best, but. Oh, shit. He's like wob. Anyway, he is egg shell white.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Yeah. Uh, looking. Yeah. I mean, this is very sad. like it does see I don't know man I guess it's progress
Starting point is 00:10:05 that he's like all the substances are bad or just coping for yeah that's probably true like that yeah I mean like you may have struck on something that's fucked up like yeah I don't know exactly how he is neurotypical
Starting point is 00:10:20 Brian the editor is like is sociopathy considered neuro atypical but I yeah I don't know man go go get you some new friends get you some help. Yeah, I mean, he's this bad scene.
Starting point is 00:10:34 I mean, that's when like when I look at the whole picture, like he's 20, right? Like he doesn't know shit. And he is so fucking lost. And the internet has decided to reward his like worst impulses. And he like, I think probably to himself, he's like, yeah, dude, I'm fucking, I'm living a life. He's just sort of like, he's in an algorithmic induced fantasy world where he is the main character. Yeah, yeah. He has attracted some awful people to get some secondary shine off of him.
Starting point is 00:11:01 this is what a 20 like not not uh exactly but like there would have been video if i was a non non-stop streaming my life in my early 20s like uh yeah there would have been i was not covering myself in glory i once tripped over uh fire hydra in new york city and fell my face with it like i didn't get my hands down because i was so fucked up i'm like was just looking like joe peshy and good fellows with like blood like pulling around me. And my friend went back into the bar.
Starting point is 00:11:36 I was like, all right, man. Yeah, yeah. I mean, that's a thing, too,
Starting point is 00:11:39 like, at that age, you have no concept for like, when someone's actually in danger. The shit's like kind of, shit is cute when you're in early 20s. Yeah, yeah,
Starting point is 00:11:48 it's like, oh, look how fucked up you got. Yeah, yeah, and you typically live to fight another day. But yeah, yeah, it's just such a, this era of like,
Starting point is 00:11:58 monetizing my life, showing every dimension of it, and who knows what he's going to have this ends up for him. Anyways. Well, let's talk about my number one influencer, my male role model.
Starting point is 00:12:12 It's not clavicular. It's the pope. Because I was raised, I was raised Catholic, so he is the Holy See. He's the person who I take all my guidance from him. J.D. Vance does not understand
Starting point is 00:12:26 Catholicism, I think is what we're learning. He's a convert. He came through and was, you know, it's like I'm a love Catholicism, love Jesus. First of all, if you're talking too much about loving Jesus, I'm looking at you askance as a Catholic. That's some Protestant Baptist shit right there to be like,
Starting point is 00:12:52 I have a personal really, you don't get to talk to him. You talk to the Pope who talks to him. Yeah. Get in line, asshole. Anyways, as we mentioned yesterday, Trump deleted that AI image of himself as Jesus Curing Epstein, claiming that he thought it portrayed him as a doctor and instead posted a new image of Jesus getting to second base with the president.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Dude, that image is, it's, it's like looks like mid-coitus. It's like, his face. Yeah, Donald Trump's face looks like he's like, oh. Like that's a noise coming out of his mouth in this drawn. It's more like his lips are a little purse. I'd be more like, uh, but it's where Jesus's hand is.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Maybe he's tweaking his nipples a little bit. He's just like rubbing his chest. It's so fucking weird. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Then the text on it, it's like, what the fuck he was talking about?
Starting point is 00:13:47 Um, I do want to just say. So the- Did you read the text, sorry of what it said? No, what did it say? On like on that image that he reposted of like,
Starting point is 00:13:56 like Jesus rubbing his chest down. Because he was like retweeting like something that like another person I posted. And it said, I was never a very religious man, but doesn't it seem with all these satanic demonic child sacrificing monsters being exposed that God might be playing his Trump card?
Starting point is 00:14:16 Hmm. Okay. What is that? Interesting take on that. The radical left lunatics might not like this, but I think it is quite nice. He's again, just like, tweeting like a parent. I will say the Pope quote on him said that Jesus does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war whose hands are full of blood.
Starting point is 00:14:35 And I got to say, I keep forgetting that this is the American Pope because that statement, like a lot of his statements sound like weird translations. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like a degree of Latin off. Yeah. Like I agree with the sentiment, but having your hands full of. blood means maybe poetic though too it gets you to think a little bit you know i'm just thinking about how their my hands are full of blood we're all about every part of my body's full of blood my hands are full of blood gregg yeah me exactly anyways uh none of this stopped jd vance from escalating uh his beef with the pope uh he said in the same way that it's important for the vice president of the united states to be careful when i talk about matters of public policy
Starting point is 00:15:25 I think it's very, very important for the Pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology. Jesus Christ. Like, I thought, I thought he was, like, it would make maybe sense if he reversed it. Yeah. But instead, he's just like, the Pope better shut the fuck up when he's talking about theology. Hey, hey, hey, shut the fuck up about your area of expertise. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Leave that to the fucking amateurs. Yeah. There's this tweet over the weekend from the guy. goddamn penguin that said, sick of these Catholic converts showing up and saying, well, I have a different interpretation of the scripture. No, you don't.
Starting point is 00:16:06 That's Protestantism and a heresy. Don't like it. There's the incredibly beautiful and heavily ornamented with precious metals door. So yeah. There was another tweet from at a gray bee that they said, every lifelong Catholic I've ever met is like, I think we're supposed to give this food to poor people.
Starting point is 00:16:27 And every adult convert is like, the arcan of Constantinople's epistle on the Pentecostine rights of the Eucharist clearly states women shouldn't have driver's licenses. Yeah. That's right. It's funny to see all the lifelong Catholics being like, all right, this is enough, man.
Starting point is 00:16:45 I had so much anxiety over being a Catholic. You just, you're dabbling in it. You disagree with the Pope? You're not a Catholic. That's a category. or my guy. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:56 You can't disagree with the Pope. Go back to speaking in tugs and handling snakes with David Koresh. We mindlessly follow authority around here. It's a fucking,
Starting point is 00:17:07 it's a nightmare, but that's the nightmare you signed up for, man. Can't be Catholic, doubting the Pope. Also, being named JD, I don't, that doesn't feel like a cat,
Starting point is 00:17:18 that feels like a Baptist. Go back to be in a Baptist, J.D. Yes. I mean, that's not even his real name, remember? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:17:24 it's Jan, James Donald Bowman. Janstance dance fans. But yeah. Also, his like his new book about Catholicism has a Methodist church on the cover.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's because it shows you this was this was only done for career. This is like a career move. There's nothing he's sincere about his conversion to Catholicism. He's like, I don't even know, man. I guess that's, it's a church, dude.
Starting point is 00:17:54 sure it's Catholicism, but I'm going to say I'm Catholic and then follow all the rules of a different religion. Right. Get all the fun. You guys are having all the fun. He made these statements at a Turning Point USA event. And the footage from that event. Oh, crickets. Yo, it is empty in there. There's a lot of, there's a lot of room to stretch out. 8,000-ish, they're saying like maybe between 1 and 2,000 were there, which is wild because it's not like it cost anything. But he was also during that time, he was being heckled. The tickets were free, right? It was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, free event.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Either show up or like register, I don't know, just or just come, man. We got plenty. But he was getting heckled in the crowd. Like people were talking about. It's like an open mic bringer. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah. You know, he was being heckled about genocide and like the killing of children and God's.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Turning Point USA? Yeah, there's some, well, yeah, but I think that was someone who's just, you're at a protest. Yeah. But then he was like, all right, guys. They're just like letting, letting everybody in. They're like, I don't know, man, we need bodies. Some libs are going to get in here, dude. I'm sorry about this.
Starting point is 00:19:04 He, he, like, naturally pivoted to blaming Joe Biden and claiming that Trump solved the problem. But not only was this event sparsely attended, Erica Kirk was supposed to appear alongside J.D. Vance, but she canceled her appearance. This is what she said. I was so looking forward to tonight's event at the University of Georgia with our vice president. But after what all of our family has been through, I take my security team's recommendations extremely seriously. Thank you to our amazing Georgia chapter for your support.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Basically saying that, like, she was facing threats. So her security team was like, nah, I better not do that. But there were threats, but it was okay for the vice president. The vice president security team, not as intense as Eric. Eric Kirk Security. Secret Service incredibly lax. I mean, we saw, we've seen it all. But like, come on, there's so many better lies you can tell. Like, say you had diarrhea.
Starting point is 00:20:01 That one works for me every time. It does. And it causes concern. Shut down the conversation. You've been doing it so much now. We're like, I think he has terrible GI issues. Yeah. And we need to really talk about that.
Starting point is 00:20:11 But I'm like, what. It also allows you to just run out of the room when you don't know what to say or know what to do with your hands. Stomach bug. Yeah, yeah. I gotta go. But like what it was too dangerous? Was the danger, like the sadness that you would experience when you realize that people give less and less of a fuck about you in this organization? Was that the danger of seeing the, just the waning influence?
Starting point is 00:20:36 It was fun to see though, Candace Owens coming at Eric Kirk for the bullshit excuses. She posted, stop, this is exhausting. You pulled out because of bad ticket sales. For the same reason, turning point faith had to do. quote, reschedule the pastor's summit and various other events quietly. People don't believe you and don't line up for you because you struggle to tell the truth and even the most basic facts. Where is the video of Charlie appointing you as CEO weeks before his death?
Starting point is 00:21:01 The Secret Service sits above your security team. Whether actually a viable threat, the vice president would not have continued the event. Your closest threat is the shit public relations team you hired that continues to operate under the delusion that they are smarter than the public. They aren't. That's a really good point about. like a public relations team that thinks they're smarter than the public is yeah that's kind of fucking bars bars now go back to your now go back to your now go back to your terrifying beliefs and
Starting point is 00:21:31 insane rant uh that is amazing you do hate to see turning point USA being and this is what corner apart like this when you see the infighting right now like with the wobbling of Trump you're like oh man when when that like that regime like like when like when and his power fully wanes, whether that's through his health or whatever, it's going to be just a broken bottle knife fight. Yeah. For power.
Starting point is 00:21:57 And that's, hopefully that doesn't make everyone unsafe. And it can just be a fun thing to point and laugh at. Hopefully it's not a race to the bottom between whatever that looks like in the Democratic Party. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know. Suddenly, yeah, Trump goes down and then like the Democrats are like, make America even greater.
Starting point is 00:22:18 And you're like, oh, God. Got some ideas here. Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. What's up, everyone? I'm Ego Wodom. My next guest, you know from Step Brothers Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, and the Big Money Players Network.
Starting point is 00:22:39 It's Will Ferrell. My dad gave me the best advice ever. I went and had lunch with them one day. And I was like, and dad, I think I want to really give this a shot. I don't know what that means, but I just know the groundlings. I'm working my way up through, and I know it's a place that come look for up and coming talent. He said, if it was based solely on talent, I wouldn't worry about you, which is really sweet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:03 He goes, but there's so much luck involved. And he's like, just give it a shot. He goes, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat. Just hang in there. Yeah, it would not be. Right, it wouldn't be that.
Starting point is 00:23:28 There's a lot of luck. Listen to Thanks Dad on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never. mess with her friends either. We always say that, trust your girlfriends.
Starting point is 00:23:57 I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target.
Starting point is 00:24:20 He's going to get what he did. serves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, I'm Nora Jones, and I love playing music with people so much
Starting point is 00:24:40 that my podcast called Playing Along is back. I sit down with musicians from all musical styles to play songs together in an intimate setting. Every episode's a little different, but it all involves music and conversation with some of my favorite musicians. Over the past two seasons, I've had special guests like Dave
Starting point is 00:24:56 Grohl, Leveh, Mavis Staples, Remy Wolf, Jeff Tweedy, really too many to name. And this season, I've sat down with Alessia Cara, Sarah McLaughlin, John Legend, and more. Check out my new episode with Josh Grobin. You related to the Phantom at that point. Yeah, I was definitely the Phantom in that. That's so funny. Share each day with me each night, each morning. Say you love me.
Starting point is 00:25:28 You know I... So come hang out with us in the studio and listen to Playing Along on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2023, former bachelor star Clayton Eckerd found himself at the center of a paternity scandal.
Starting point is 00:25:45 The family court hearings that followed revealed glaring inconsistencies in her story. This began a years-long court battle to prove the truth. You doctor this. particular test twice in so much. I doctored the test ones. It took an army of internet detectives to crack the case. I wanted people to be able to see what their tax dollars were being used for. Sunlight's the greatest disinfected. They would uncover a disturbing pattern. Two more men who'd
Starting point is 00:26:12 been through the same thing. Greg Alespian and Michael Marantini. My mind was blown. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trap. Laura, Scottsdale Police. As the season continues, Laura Owens finally faces consequences. Ladies and gentlemen, breaking news at Maricopa County as Laura Owens has been indicted on fraud charges. This isn't over until justice is served in Arizona.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Listen to Love Trapped podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. And speaking of the Democrats, they might be talking about that 25th Amendment. Yep. They just filed,
Starting point is 00:26:58 officially filed a 25th Amendment bill launching an investigation into Trump's mental fitness. So the thing about the 25th Amendment is typically, you know, it's like the vice president or the cabinet, but also the text of the 25th Amendment says, quote, or such other body as Congress may by law provide. So meaning if the cabinet and the vice president aren't going to do it, then Congress can initiate this. This is what Jamie Raskin said, congressman from Maryland, quote, public trust in Donald
Starting point is 00:27:29 Trump's ability to meet the duties of his office has dropped to unprecedented lows as he threatens to destroy entire civilizations, unleashes chaos in the Middle East while violating congressional war powers, aggressively insults the Pope of the Catholic Church, and sends out artistic renderings online likening himself to Jesus Christ. We are at a dangerous precipice, and it is now a matter of national security for Congress to fulfill its responsibilities under the 25th Amendment to protect the American people from an increasingly volatile and unstable situation. And you're like, oh, okay. It's pretty much impossible. for anything to happen here.
Starting point is 00:28:01 But I guess the bar is so low for the Democrats. At least it's not shrugging. Right. And then maybe they are able to expose something with some kind of investigation. But again, we don't need an investigation to know how mentally unfit Donald Trump is for office. Right. So the hope is maybe, like, it's not going to convince the Republicans, but maybe it just uncovers some shit that's like, oh. At best, yeah, best maybe they unearthed something. thing. But again, it's like, what could we
Starting point is 00:28:31 possibly learn at this point? You know, it's like every other thing. It's more about just showing how craven all the Republicans are to be like, yeah, yeah, we hear you that he's unfit and he's a danger to the entire planet and human civilization. But like,
Starting point is 00:28:48 I have no spine and kind of like the culture of like conservative male cultures, like follow the leader. So here I am. Yeah. Yeah, as Brian said, the headline could be the Democrats, maybe thinking about considering the possibility of doing something. And they might. And they might do it.
Starting point is 00:29:08 And they just might. And they just might do it. They're also looking at impeaching pegseth for war crimes. Yeah. So that's, that feels, I don't know. I'm at the very least, right?
Starting point is 00:29:20 You do these things because you also are hoping that they're indicating that when the roles are reversed, terms and conditions apply. Right. that there will be accountability. And it's not just going to be freewheeling extrajudicial murders on people in boats and the seas and things like that. There's a ton of bad shit that enlisted people are having to do under, you know, the direction of the Pentagon that I think they're also like, remember, you do not have to follow illegal orders because illegal, that, that shit could come back to haunt somebody. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:55 But again, in terms of the possibility of consequences out there. They do need to, the Democrats need to prosecute these motherfuckers, like if they ever, if they ever get power. Yes. Yeah, yeah. And that's the thing. It's like, I, and I think that's the, we've, we've seen how hard they went when they did have the power. So it's a little bit, hmm. It's just restarting the clock, maybe. They're going to be like, we don't want another January 6th thing. That was egg on our face. Yeah. You know? All right. Let's talk about ICE real quick. Yeah. The Trump administration. according to a report in The Intercept is the Trump administration's aggressively targeting anyone who's slightly mean to them online. Yes, good, good. Yes. Reddit has been ordered to appear before a secret of grand jury and reveal the personal information of an anonymous user who made fun of ICE, essentially.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Oh, not making threats or anything like that? Just made fun. Yeah, that's wild. Like, I would have assumed they could have found people saying. some wild shit. But instead, like, the person they found is, like, he said, Renee Good's killer should go to jail, suggested the phrase urine speaks louder than words for an anti-ice protest sign. By the way, that's the name of a wingnut dishwashers union song. So it's not like he was, like, there's plausible deniability there.
Starting point is 00:31:24 Right, right, he also, he did say, and this is going to be controversial, he did say that the TSA sucks. What the fuck? Okay, well. Yeah. Well, you dug your grave, pal. We can't back you there. You had me up until that, man. They suck? Oh.
Starting point is 00:31:40 I got a future to think about. It should be noted that Reddit and several other tech companies have already voluntarily complied with some of the requests made by ICE to unmask users who criticize ICE or pointed to the location of ICE agents. But this is just... We talked about this maybe a few months ago because they were calling in the social media companies and using real dubious legal logic. Right. To be like, tell me who this person is that said we suck and smell like farts now.
Starting point is 00:32:11 And I'm doing this under the Smoot-Hawley-Therifact. Yeah. So that's what they're using the Smoot-Hawley-Therrifact of 1930, which is a law that governs boat show sales. Boat show sales. Yeah. Yep. Miles. Don't get hung up on that, Jack.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Keep going. What else? I just can't go to another boat show sale and have it be lawless and have the taxation on some of the items be confusing. So it governs boat show sales. Yep, good. Is that a sale of boat shows? Maybe sales at a boat show. Sales at a boat show because there's not international vendors.
Starting point is 00:32:56 Got it. Builders of boats. Right. Wild animal imports. Forfeited wines and spirits. Forfeited. Forfeited. And cross-border trade in other goods.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Yes. Yep. Aimed to raise tariff rates on agricultural and imported goods during a period marked by the onset of the Great Depression, which doesn't seem like it applies to some dude on Reddit. Yeah. He specifically said, I use this account to post about events and issues local to my region of Oregon and beyond. Neither I nor my Reddit account are associated with importing or exporting any merchandise or any other thing subject to tax or duty into or out of the United States. Just so we're clear. And he's referring to that part of the law that allows them that says,
Starting point is 00:33:44 you know, they can compel disclosure of records, only connection with, quote, any investigation inquiry conducted for the purpose of ascertaining the correctness of any entry for determining the liability of any person for duty fees and taxes due or duties fees and taxes which may be due to the United States. Like it's so so tenuous like the argument that they're using here. But yeah, that's try. Yeah, it's just like a hack. It's just like a thing, like a loophole that they've seen works because nobody's like
Starting point is 00:34:18 taking it to the Supreme Court and been like, this is obviously illegal, right? Yeah. And so, yeah, it's, quote, goal is to provide agencies like ICE with a way to obtain business records from companies without having to go to a judge for a warrant. But it's, again, supposed to be about ensuring that those companies are paying proper duties, fees, and taxes for imports, which has, can't even see how it begins to apply here. But ICE has been misusing this to demand data from elementary school. schools, news organizations, and abortion clinics. At least twice, they've used the custom summons to pressure news organizations to reveal
Starting point is 00:35:01 information about their sources. And that was during the Biden administration. So. Yeah, yeah. Anyways, they're, they're coming for you. If you say, if you say inflammatory stuff like the TSA sucks. Yeah. It's, I mean, wow.
Starting point is 00:35:21 it's pretty frightening though too that they have the appetite for this kind of thing you know what i mean that it's sort of like it's not even it's not even the shit that they like legally someone could wrap their head around it's like uh well you can't say like this is how you make some kind of device to harm a person and blah blah blah blah blah blah it's so like they suck and then suddenly it's like hash patel's like get them fucking go um yeah it seems seems like a bad path for All of us, I do, I don't know how this is not being like challenged in court. Maybe it will be eventually challenged in court. But I feel like there's something about the names, the Smoot-Holly Act that makes people just like go to sleep.
Starting point is 00:36:07 And they're like, I don't know. I can't really think about that right now. Anyways, those are some of the things that are trending on this Wednesday, April 15th. We are back tomorrow with a whole ass episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. get your vaccines way you still can't get your flu shots.
