All the snubs that are making me very angry. That's not true. I don't, I haven't even looked at them.

But Becca, you're up on it. That's Super Producer Becca Ramos joining me. Hello, hello. We'll talk about it. I didn't feel maybe I'm not a TV person but I felt pretty good about the list. Yeah. I never feel

like there's so much TV. There's so much TV. So it's like, I don't know. I don't know there's so much TV. There's so much TV. So it's like, I don't know. I don't know what's out there anymore. I like what I like. Yeah. Unless they like reward a bad thing that I saw, which I try not to watch bad things. So I'm just, I have a hard time getting too worked up about it.

If anything, I'm just like that famous Issa Rae soundbite. I don't remember what year it was but i think it was the emmys where she's like i'm rooting for everyone black that's how i feel like if you're a color you're black that's who i'm rooting for that's that's what i want to see well we'll talk about it because some people are pissed for jessica chastain she's a great way to spend your time and calories, burn calories, being pissed on behalf of an Oscar-winning actress. A very wealthy, Oscar-winning, beautiful actress who is doing great. Anyways, but before we get to any of that, I do want to talk about your favorite thing, space stuff.

No. All right. So the Webb Telescope, DJ Daniel, super producer DJ Daniel, has been telling us that this Webb Telescope was going to hit with the pictures. And we talked about it. We talked about it before they dropped. Now they have dropped. And so my first reaction, and this is aggressively stupid.

I am wrong. I will just say that up top. My first reaction to the first picture that I guess, I don't know. I never saw the Joe Biden press conference, but I guess they did like give it to Biden to reveal. I was like, that is a skip that picture is like if I found that on my phone I would not stop at it I will or I might even delete it because I'd assume I had dropped my phone at night and it like did something weird it's just it it looks kind of

blurry which I guess it's not um I guess that's just what see I would argue it actually does look really crisp but I if you did not give me any of the context that you are currently giving me I'd be like cool background it's like one of those things that you know when screensaver mode goes on I imagine this is like an image i would pop up on like those uh built-in ones to your computer but i when you told me the context of what we're looking at i was like whoa that's so that crazy that helped me so it does look like a lot of stars that are like blurry or like round sort of starry things and that is because they are not stars they are galaxies we are looking at thousands of galaxies there are billions in existence this is a small portion of the sky which is showing us

thousands of them all of what look like stars are galaxies galaxies are really big so our solar system is the thing that i'm most familiar with i I don't know if you've heard about this, but our solar system consists of the sun, its orbiting planets, including Earth. I love a Miss Frizzle ref. Thank you for that. Along with our moons, asteroids, comet material,

everything. So our sun is one star among hundreds of billions of stars in our Milky Way galaxy. That's one galaxy. We are looking at, in that picture, thousands of galaxies. And then I found this on a website by Googling, like, galaxy, solar system, universe.

What's the difference? And it was very helpful. They put it this way. If we shrink the sun down to smaller than a grain of sand, we can imagine our solar system to be small enough to fit into the palm of your hand. Pluto would orbit about an inch from the middle of your palm. On that scale, with our solar system in your hand,

the Milky Way galaxy, with its 200 to 400 billion stars, would span North America. Like, so that's, we are very, we, we are very tiny. Galaxies come in many sizes.

The Milky Way is big, but some galaxies like our Andromeda galaxy neighbor are much larger. So we are a tiny, tiny, our Andromeda galaxy neighbor, are much larger. So we are a tiny, tiny, tiny speck of dust. We're so small, your brain can't even really comprehend it, which is kind of the main reaction. And I'm not saying your brain. My brain can't comprehend it. Oh, no brain my brain can't comprehend it oh no i absolutely can't

comprehend it i have a problem with existential dread which is i think why i don't like space stuff because if i think about it too hard i get too stressed i'm like oh i don't matter what is my little body in this giant universe of galaxies of and I do believe it's why I don't like sci-fi so you know it's a compounding issue I'm learning with my therapist yeah it's that that is one that's one of those things that I've discovered that like bringing existential things to therapists they're just like yeah man fuck but yeah it feels like this is doing for other people what getting too high when i was a teenager did for me and that it's introducing that like that would be you know i would definitely have the thoughts about like nobody likes me when i would get too high uh

and everybody is looking at me and judging what i'm doing with my hands. But the other thought that I would have is realizing our existence is just a brief pit stop, like a minor chemical gurgle between eternities spent as space dust. Not only are we small and insignificant from a spatial perspective, but we are small and insignificant from a we're a blink in time.

That's something that's always been interesting to me when considering why we haven't run into more aliens. So many civilizations could have come and gone in the time it took the light from any of these stars to like reach us. Like we're, it's, and it gives me the high thought of like, are we aliens to like other universes and galaxies?

And like, it just scares me to even think about that's where it's just like, it's one of those sad things where I have such fear of the unknown like that, that I'm like, ah, it's like, I'm not going to be violent about it, but I'm i'm gonna be like i don't know if i need to know you know but it can also be freeing because it's like well all the shit that we like worry about

on a day-to-day basis like you know as long as you're like kind to people like you're you're good just don't don't worry about it so anyways uh that that was the first one that joe biden got stuck revealing and everyone's like all right man whatever uh they started dropping the like really hot hot heat today with like some of the pictures where like they're like clouds of yeah the second image looks like a painting straight up it's beautiful it is yeah and so it's like stuff we've seen before but it's just high high high depth there's an image of four galaxies that interact and stretch each other with their gravitational pulls it's just i don't know man very cool glad they put the billions of dollars into creating

this telescope and that's also i think um somewhat like as we look at the fact that the u.s government can't get their shit together enough to ban guns and protect reproductive rights it's sometimes cool to be like well people like just to get cool pictures of space to give us like better a better view of like how insignificant we are like put together billions of dollars of projects like they're you know there there might be hope for some countries definitely not the u.s but some countries eventually all right that well that's been the first half of this uh let's take a quick break and we'll come back and we'll talk costco hot dogs and other uh more important stuff i'm jess casavetto executive producer of the hit netflix documentary series dancing for the devil

And he responded, no, this is the same outlet where the founder of Costco,

Jim Senegal, told, I think it was this same CEO, if you raise the effing hot dog, I will kill you. Figure it out. Never gets old. Yeah. It's a good quote and it makes me happy. This microcosm of capitalism makes me always curious because I'm like, see, does inflation have to be what it is? Because Costco CEO found out a way to keep hot dogs the same price. Why is everything expensive? I don't understand. It's all made up. It's all bullshit. It makes me angry in one end, but it makes me happy that we can still go to Costco and get a very reasonably priced hot dog because they should not be expensive.

And as someone who used to be a broke broke broke 22 year old in portland oregon i used to go to ikea because i did not have a costco membership and go and get a meal at ikea so sad i would go and they have similarly very cheap two hot dogs a chip and a drink for like 275 and then the last time i went to ikea during the pandemic they upped that shit and also you can't just go anymore to the little kiosk to get the hot dogs you have to go to the food court and i was just right i was disappointed in ikea and i stand by here we are at casco really doing a number for the people and keeping the price of hot dogs low fuck ikea yeah that that's interesting it's like the free drinks in vegas it's like they

know you are there to spend money yeah they know that most people are there to spend money uh some people are there to get a good deal on hot dogs so So shout out to you. Very ingenious. Hey, speaking of hot dogs, Heinz is no longer going to be the name on the Pittsburgh football field for the NFL football games. Another casualty. I don't know. I made this up.

It could be a casualty, but Heinz has decided not to extend the naming rights for the Pittsburgh Steelers field. So I'm assuming it will now be ghostkitchenbitcoin.com field or some shit. It probably will. Just wait. Eminoms. All right. Let's hit them with the hot goss, the Eminom tea.

I tend to like to watch my comfort shows and move on with my life. Like right now, my comfort show has been Catfish. Just been watching every, there's thousands of episodes and I love that for me. So definitely not a hot goss.

she's already such a badass but glad to see her get the lead actress nom she deserves it she is who i am rooting for but i don't like that they're making me pin quinta and isa ray against each other because insecure it was the last season you know that is like you gotta give it to isa this is the last season abbott elementary i feel like was so revolutionary and they gave all those supplies to those teachers i have such a soft spot for anything helping education so that show's not going anywhere right i don't know yeah better not but i will be you know coughing up a fit. If it is, um, only murders in the building got noms. I have a personal vendetta against this. It is very personal and has nothing to do with the show.

I'm sure it's great. I personally don't like it. You don't like the show. You don't like the show. I don't like Selena Gomez. You know, maybe it's because, uh,

I gave a brief summary and, you know, like I love Oscar Isaac. I'm rooting for Oscar Isaac. Anything he's doing. That's my crush. I'm on it. But I just felt like it was a hard watch and it was obviously meant for like award season like they made that with the intent that they're like this is it this is gonna be awards like this is the drama but I just felt like it was very painful to watch and it was long and it was beautiful but I felt like considering

kind of like we stated there's so much fucking shit out there. I just, like, I don't know if it was, like, missing. I don't know if it was, like, such an important narrative to tell that, like, oh my god, it needed to be nominated for an Emmy. There are so many stories being told on TV right now. And it was good, but I don't think it was, like, better than Severance or something like that. It worked really well as a, in the format of you telling a story about a marriage of like people you know like yeah but it did not i did not demand that i watch it be dramatized yeah it was i mean i think it's like the same feeling people are having about like

marriage story like it's it's similar vibe i would, but over like eight limited series episodes and more compelling actors because I love Oscar Isaac. And finally, pre-film is trending. So I'm just going to read this tweet from Sarah Schaefer. She tweeted, help me settle an argument. What do you call it when you and your friends are drinking at home before going out for a night of partying? I will collect answers and then reveal what my husband and his friends call it and i'm convinced they're the only ones but i could be wrong and

so i asked our group uh superducer becca superducer brian and superducer tricia and we all had the same answer pregame pregame um and sorry, Schaefer immediately responded, oh my God, okay, so anyone saying pre-funk, what? Where are you from? I was convinced he was lying to me. And people are saying, actually, pre-funk's the only thing I've ever heard it called. You smartly pointed out it could be short for pre-function,

but it is being spelled pre-funk like f-u-n-k i do wonder and this is a the people of color listening will get it are they white because i only ask this because i just it doesn't feel as a brown person something of our community and but it does make me question because function is a very, like, that is of a community term, you know, to, like, go to the function. Like, last night I had a function, you know, but pre-funk just feels weird.

And I'm very, it is very, I don't know. I don't know how I feel about it. It makes me feel like pre-funk is, Super Producer Brian agrees, you you know we are in solidarity here um yeah it just pre-funk gives me bad vibes of not even thinking about drinking it makes me think about like bad food or like you know i got pre-funk like i smoked too much before going somewhere or something like it just does not make me think of alcohol in the slightest bit if someone would be like yeah let's pre-funk i'd be like what are you doing i i would say no immediately

i would suspect and this is why one of my favorite types of uh things that we do on the training episode is just baselessly uh speculate on things that we haven't done the least amount of research on i would suspect that it is a southern thing based on only on the fact that when i lived in kentucky i'm from the south right okay and right not all south obviously but like when i lived in kentucky we had so many euphemisms for you were saying this yeah like it like uh get buttered was the thing we said i mean we were also like 13 so i don't know maybe this is not like a thing that people did but like that's we would use a lot of euphemisms for getting drunk drinking irresponsibly youth does like create euphem. I feel like I'm too afraid to actually just say what we're doing. Because I

would say when I was in college, I would say like, oh yeah, we're getting sloshed. We're getting hammered. We are getting twisted. But I would never say any of those things as an adult now. I'm like, oh yeah, we got drunk last night. I don't need

a euphemism to talk about my anticsics anymore so maybe it is a southern thing well i mean but also the south does love a euphemism like i or like a turn of phrase i i know i am a victim of saying many weird turn of phrases that i didn't realize were part of my vocabulary till i left and was like oh y'all don't just say weird things instead of just saying what you meant to say. Crazy. You got to the point quickly. Oh, bless his heart.
