You can listen to Sniffy's Cruising Confessions, sponsored by Gilead, now on the iHeartRad radio app or wherever you get your podcasts new episodes every thursday hello the internet and welcome to this episode of the trial of the chicago trending i'm jack that's miles yeah that is courtesy of rory the scriv shout out to you let's get some bartleby the scrivener show short show titles rory um the real scrivener the real scrivener yeah that movie's probably gonna win the best picture i just feel it in my bones really just yeah because it's gonna be like nomadland is the favorite that'll be the second favorite and then that'll come in and win because it's got the right politics for the academy right okay okay oh go ahead but that's not what's trending is it miles i'll tell you what is little guy by the name of lil nas x yeah yeah i think is actually very tall
Starting point is 00:03:00 not a little guy yeah exactly uh yeah i mean he uh little nas x was trending because takashi 69 took a real like a real homophobic shot at little nas x like on a post that was saying like it was like a news clip that said china makes covid 19 anal swabs mandatory for foreigners and uh takashi's snitch 9 was in the comments saying like he's like oh is this uh like uh little nas x has entered the chat or some shit like that and then little nas x joke pulled up uh some interesting dms of like where like six nine was like yo like hey i'm in your city like are we gonna like what are you doing lol now i don't know if that was like them actually having a conversation or if that's him flirting or whatever but yeah
Starting point is 00:03:52 little nas x clap back like in this video just this showing that comment screen grab of his dms and be like is this you shit talker huh so you know a bit of but i mean that joke was right there he had to use it i mean it was so good exactly i mean no swabs and the butt you gotta be toxic you gotta you have to be a toxic homophobe to be funny is what i've learned in this city that's yes that's just go for the lowest hanging fruit possible and you will look like a comedic genius and not like a total piece of shit that's like that is funny for a eight-year-old in the year 1984 i was gonna say okay wow we were involved yes come on we were the 90s big come on yeah the 90s was terrible it's just basically like the 80s were like the smiley faced version of like really toxic shit that we're like this is actually horrific and then the 90s like yeah
Starting point is 00:04:44 we get that it's kind of horrific but also it's sexy so come on y'all like let's keep it going it's horrific to the extreme 2000 into homophobia toxicity 2k uh march 4th revolution uh We have an update. It's a photograph of four boomers looking at their phone in Trump hats in Washington, D.C. And that's really all we got. Oh, there was an actual photo of that? Yeah, it's pretty great. They're just kind of waiting there like, what the hey? The heck is going on here? so yeah you love to see that you love but i mean that's what that's what q was telling them it's not it's not march 4th
Starting point is 00:05:34 it's march um 2011th march uh yeah like i said march 45th right that's right March for the 45th president on tax day because we're taxing that ass at the capitol baby thank you um yeah so nothing happened uh people I can't imagine anybody was actually disappointed other than like a handful of devoted cures yeah um anyway shout out to them uh elon musk is trending what's going on with elon musk i mean when they're trending might be that you died but right that's why he was trending because people were saying he died he in fact was not dead um so you know people just love throwing some elon rumors around people love talking about elon musk man we talked about it yeah cool i want to be a guy whose parents literally ran a fucking emerald mine with slave labor and then you like people who are my background to be like i'm a
Starting point is 00:06:39 genius you like people who recommend ted talks to other people uh are the type of people who will throw an elon musk like the elon musk actually said something really interesting uh in day sure conversation okay and that's fine um and i will and i will not really take that on board as much but go please go on we all have our folk heroes i just don't like billionaire dudes like that um we have a story on our doc that we'll get to eventually about the the like uh grad student college bro who like fucked up the philadelphia vaccine rollout uh and in his in his he quoted elon musk in his like powerpoint presentation uh despite the fact that elon musk was like i'm not gonna get the vaccine you kidding me come on that's limited thinking
Starting point is 00:07:33 galaxy brain yeah um anyways shout out to yeah unfortunately you have to be you have to have the material uh accumulated wealth of a billionaire to to live galaxy brained like that right that's the thing you can't really galaxy brain it on your nine to five doesn't work like that federico klein is trending this is a trump appointee uh this is like an off-brand fashion designer federico klein yeah yeah like some shit you're like yo that's that's some what the fuck is that is that gucci no it's federico klein well uh let's get to know that name because he is a trump appointee who was arrested by the fbi for his role in the uh january 6th right he so he had a job in the administration yeah and he pulled up to the insurrection during the term yes uh so this is
Starting point is 00:08:38 the first member of the trump administration to be arrested in connection with the insurrection um it's not like he was on the other end like advising them where to go this guy showed up with the with the throngs and like was can be seen on various like videos pushing cops pushing uh shouting we need more fresh people at the front of the line, like directing people around. And yeah, he, I guess, when did he resign? He resigned like days later, January 19th. He stepped down from the State Department. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:23 So he was like, I guess. Wait, the day before the inauguration oh yeah of course you fucking coward right i mean wow i'd like to say i'm surprised but i'm not i mean there's so many elected officials that were even there so this is what the party is there people who are full-blown be like i will fight to overturn an election and get violent in the name of de facto white supremacy i think uh if people bother looking into it i think things will we will just keep learning more and more how bad the inside the Trump administration.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Oh yeah. Yeah. It's just going to be, I mean right now, like the, the one headline was how the feds are looking now. They're like, now we're looking at communications between insurrectionists and federal
Starting point is 00:10:15 officials. Right. And you're like, Hmm. Okay. So we're in that phase. So, so there's something to look at there.
Starting point is 00:10:21 That's what, that's what I thought. Okay. Let's see what we get. Yeah. The books, when the books come out, start coming out about like an inside look from like Fauci and like other medical officials who were like working on the pandemic response and like got an inside look at what the Trump administration was doing.
Starting point is 00:10:42 I think we're all going to be not surprised, but, uh, you know, entertained and outraged. And, uh, finally,
Starting point is 00:10:51 this is all-star weekend for the NBA. Uh, should have just been a, a weekend off for the players, which is what they said heading into the season. They were going to do, um, instead they are making the best players play in an all-star game
Starting point is 00:11:06 uh and uh in keeping with the recent tradition which i love they did a the draft where lebron uh one leading vote getter was lebron and the other leading vote getter was Kevin Durant. And so they each got to draft their team like a pickup game. Yeah. LeBron went Giannis, Steph Curry, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Damian Lillard, Ben Simmons, Ben Simmons, Chris Paul, Jalen Brown, Paul George, DeMonta Sabonis, Rudy Gobert. LeBron's got the team. Yeah, pretty stacked.
Starting point is 00:11:50 I mean, Durant's team is pretty good also. Pretty good. But I like the versatility. I mean, to have Damian Lillard not even starting, you know what I mean? Yeah. I just like that you have these other resources. But I hope they just play very easy.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Take it easy, guys. Just do a normal all-star game. Have a weird, ridiculous score where no one's defending. Let it be Lob City and Luka's the mayor and we'll be fine and we can get on to our tortured season.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Durant went Kyrie Irving first, his teammate, which is a little interesting. Is that like an emotional management pick? I think so. I think he was doing the thing that he knew was going to be good for his relationship. Right. If you were Kevin Durant and LeBron goes yannis who do you pick if you
Starting point is 00:12:46 were dying you'd have to manage kairi's feelings probably steph yeah yeah that's a i mean yeah come on or mb'd yeah stepher yeah mb'd yeah that would be good one well who was this who was the net those were the next two picks did you hear that he kind of did you see the greg odin joke that durant made during that no what do you say he was like he was saying something about like oh you always pick second or something he goes yeah it happened a while back but it was like this old dude picked like it was like a very off the cuff reference to greg odin and i was like because greg went number one that year yeah yeah um and durant went too so yeah i was just like oh something for the olds yeah odin did kind of have the uh the body language of an older older person yeah i mean he was i and then also his body didn't work so you hate it's uh i hate to see those moments um but yeah
Starting point is 00:13:41 so kairi joelle mb'd uh but interestingly so the jazz are the number one team in the league in terms of record in terms of point differential uh and their two all-stars rudy gobert and donovan mitchell were the last players chosen which is interesting yeah they're they're real worried about not getting enough um enough respect on their name from i mean did you hear what lebron said though too what he's like he was saying he's like look dude i'm gonna be real with you when we were kids nobody was picking the jazz when we're playing on video game i didn't do that shit right to be fucking hornacek and malone i mean like respect to them but that's just we didn't grow up picking the jazz ever as a right as a squad so that has
Starting point is 00:14:26 maybe poisoned our perception of them now going into you know in the year of our lord 2021 which is true but yeah i mean they're good yeah they're good that gets this is fucking hard to say but i've been as a laker fan i know very intimately the years when the jazz were the thing keeping us from going to the finals um so i'm not like you know not too shocked but i hate to see it because i hated those times they're always annoyingly good um yeah and this year is like the ultimate they're annoyingly good year right anyways i will be watching i'll be watching the dunk contest. I'll be watching the All-Star game to see what Zion does. If he does anything, I know he's got a hurt toe. By the way, hurt toe for Zion is the thing I am most worried about.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Right. If you saw Shaq's toes, what stopping when you weigh close to 300 pounds does to your toes it's like a car accident on the front of your feet every time yeah you grip so hard with your toes to make to cut and like you forget how much you use your toes really like when but
Starting point is 00:15:37 Zion's the heaviest player in the league and he like jumps and runs and cuts faster one of them if not yeah he's super duper like just built like a brick shithouse uh and yeah man i worry about that man's toes uh but hopefully he is all right and able to play an all-star game because i like watching him yeah he's good at basketball wait they said taco fall is 300 pounds oh is he well yeah he's seven two and yeah seven three i guess in my mind because he's so long and thin you're like that's what he's like 14 pounds that guy yeah yeah and you're
Starting point is 00:16:18 like right it's seven foot five uh what so who are the heaviest players in the nba i guess uh taco fall at one bobon 290 then zion at 284 then joker then brooke lopez hey yeah but like all those dudes are uh big you know they're they're kind of lumber. They're not doing the shit that Zion does. For his frame, you're like, yeah, Zion could be playing any number of contact sports as well. There's a reason his shoe ripped in half
Starting point is 00:16:55 in a way that we've never seen happen before. It was like a blown out tire. His shoe in college just ripped right in half at the midfoot. Yeah. Just cutting, you know? Yeah. Yep. Alright. That's gonna
Starting point is 00:17:11 do it for this week of the Daily Zeitgeist, guys. We are back Monday with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Wear a mask. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. We'll talk to you all on Monday.
