Starting point is 00:00:05 So I'm watching The Odyssey. I feel terrible for the Cyclops. I don't know why. I think it's because he, I was like, this guy's just making cheese. Yeah. Mining his business. He's just monging. Dude.
Starting point is 00:00:18 He says a cheese monger doing his thing, dressed like a fucking, like, for some reason I was like, that's what Joe Biden looks like naked. We should have seen his dick and it should have had one testicle or two urethrus. Just a reithras. Answer the question. Or is it a two-headed hydra? Yeah, you should have made two shafts completely. Like the double dick guy from Reddit. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Remember double dick? Do you remember that era from Reddit? I don't know how on it. How do we mark a Reddit era? You remember, right? Everybody. Everyone's nodding by me. The double dick era.
Starting point is 00:00:52 The first double dick era. We were living up, we were living the dream back then. It was like two dick Rick or something. Whatever that guy was called. How do you? A face. Yeah. A fleet.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Two dick Rick. Two dick Rick. Three balls. It's lit. I absolutely love the Odyssey. I was obsessed with it, but the part that started making me laugh and felt a little cheesy
Starting point is 00:01:12 is how frequently they were just like, all right, back to the boats. Like it was like so much, like shit guys, back to the boats. It's like, why are we even getting off? Why do we get off? Every time some fucking worst shit happens. I almost got my fucking shit ripped in half
Starting point is 00:01:29 by a six foot eight four year old. This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey, Portlandia fans. Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen here. The Dream of the 90s is alive in podcast form. We're launching Podlandia, AEO rewatch, our brand new podcast where we revisit every episode of Portlandia together, breaking down sketches, going deep on our iconic characters, and pulling
Starting point is 00:01:57 back the curtain on how it all got made. And we'll also be joined by the people who helped bring it all to life. Guest stars, collaborators, and friends, including director Jonathan Chrysler, the mayor, himself Kyle McLaughlin, legendary musician Amy Mann, and many more. Kyle is going for it here. You fully improvised, not just words, but a song about it. Well, I thought you were all going to write a song. I remember you thinking that. Listen to Podlandia. A.A.O. Rewatch on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. What's up, fam? I'm sports journalist Ari Chambers. Hey, what's up, y'all?
Starting point is 00:02:31 It's your girl, Sam Jay. And we're the host of everyone watches women's sports, a new podcast from together in I Heart Women's Sports. We're breaking down the biggest headlines. Naomi Osaka, showing out. Shoutouts to you, Naomi. The viral moments. I've been obsessed with Kashan Rock's boxing journey.
Starting point is 00:02:46 She looks good. Her combos are swift. And the stories everyone's talking about across women's sports. Because everyone watches women's sports. Listen to everyone watches women's sports on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:58 I'm Nick Titoro. You probably know me from NYPD Blue, the longest yard, or Spike Lease Black Klansman. And on my new podcast, delivering happiness with Nick Totoro, I deliver pizza to a new guest. I've shared a slice with everyone from Seth Rollins. What are you doing my belt?
Starting point is 00:03:13 To Bill Burr. I don't think I've ever met somebody so exactly out of their mind as I am. And now we even have more great guests coming up, including the great John Tuturo. It's called Happiness, Delivering Happiness. And many, many more. Open your free High Heart Radio app.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Search Delivering Happiness with Nick Tutro. And listen now. This is Chelsea Handler from Dear Chelsea. Every week, the news gets worse. The world gets crazier, and Yamanika is here to tell whoever's responsible, you're the problem. Do you know I just found out who Sidney Sweeney was? If he got a bunch of women, then I should have a bunch of men. Do better or do less, so I don't have to do so much.
Starting point is 00:03:52 I'm Yamanika, and I'm out. Listen to You're the Problem with Yamanika on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, the internet, and welcome to season 449 episode four of To Daily Zykes! That's a production of IHAR Radio. It's a podcast where you take a deep dive into America's share consciousness through the day's news. We also have a new non-news history version of the Daily Zichykeyes drop in each Monday morning called the iconograph. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:22 We do a deep dive into the zeitgeist through the lens of a different icon. We've done Arnold Schwarzenegger with today's guest. Oh, yeah. I showed my kids the, because they always say, I'll be back as a reference. but they've never seen the original Terminator scene until this morning at 7 in the morning. Oh my gosh. When I was like, guys, get around my phone. Gather around.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Gather around my phone. My dad was like, good call, Jack. The oral tradition of showing your kid's Terminator clips at 7 o' morning from YouTube. That's right. I love that. That's awesome. I love also, too, like you're not just letting your kids see it still be like, all right, you guys All right, you got to see the clip.
Starting point is 00:05:04 You got to get the accent, right? You're kind of annoying me with how I'll be back. That was my motivation is you guys are kind of fucking. You're fucking up the quote. I don't feel like you're saying it with the correct gravity. I know you're not ready to see this movie, but like, fuck. Get it right. It's Albi Bach, dude.
Starting point is 00:05:25 Anyways, this week we did The Dude got into Big Lobowski fan theories, not the one where Donnie really isn't there. which I have concluded does not add anything to the movie and is not supported by the fact of the movie. But there is one involving the dude and Maude being siblings for all the incest freaks on the internet. It's like some weird porn hub video that people are like, dude, that's what I was saying. That is definitely the motivation for that. Mod is stuck in the dryer. My stepsister's head is in the bowling machine.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Exactly. Really violence. You're like, oh, God. Oh, God. It's what happened to his hand in. King Pender Dome. Those are the episodes on Monday with Icon in the title, but right now it is
Starting point is 00:06:15 Thursday, July 30th, 2026. Yeah. Happy birthday to your mother. My mom. My dear mother. Shut out your mom. Wonderful cookies. It's an amazing.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Happy birthday, mom. It's international day of friendship, national Cheesecake Day. Shout out the fucking cheese. It's National Chili Dog Day. I fucking need a chili dog. World Snorkeling Day. Paperback book day. And National Support Public Education Day.
Starting point is 00:06:42 All right. This guy blows past best friend and public education, but needs a chili cheese dog. I mean, I fuck with them teachers man. Thanks a lot. The way a chili dog. I almost ordered Tommy's so fucking ripped over the weekend. Because I grew up next to Tommy's and
Starting point is 00:07:00 Like, it's like, you know how like you grow up eating poison? And sometimes you're like, I need to know what it feels like again. Bring me back to the poison. But I somehow my 41 year old soul was like, what the fuck are you doing? That shit is poison. Poison. Poison. Poison.
Starting point is 00:07:17 That's the second time that we've done that in two weeks. And both times it's been appropriate. My name is Jack O'Brien, AK Ocean Water, keep on flow. out of my head now straining all over my feet. That one courtesy of Snarfula, reference to the bucket of ocean water that I was apparently storing in my head all day after going into the ocean. And I leaned over and it was crazy, man. The shit that came out of my nose.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Anyways, also, probably a good reason why people, is there anyone who sings an affiliate accent? No, I don't think so. You got a lot of southern accents. There's, you know, some punk rockers are singing New York. Yeah. Smilk on the water. Smake on the water. Foyering.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Thore to be joined as always by my co-host, Mr. Miles Gray. Yes, it's Miles Gray, the Lord of Lakersim, the showgun with no gun, North Hollywood's finest. Thank you for having me. We're thrilled to be joined in our third seat by one of our favorite guests. An actor, comedian, you know, from his podcasts. Super Structure. Staying alive with John Gabris and Adam Pally. The Action Boys, which is one of my favorite podcasts doing it.
Starting point is 00:08:41 It's one of the best out there. Jack, thank you so. Oh, tighten that, tighten that. Titan. There you go. You've seen him in movies like bombshell and on shows like 101 places to party before you die. Yeah. A.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Welcome back to the show. It's John Gabriel! Gaboris! A.K.A. from unc to crunk. Yeah. What's that look like? By the way, that's a series of DVDs that you could purchase for me. It helps you go from unc to crunk.
Starting point is 00:09:09 What is that transition? What's the before and after photo? I'm not sure, but you definitely need an old white guy to teach you that. It would just be funny. It's a white guy. And then the crunk version is just you have like a pimp cup. That's it. I'm just on that lean.
Starting point is 00:09:21 You're like, yeah, actually now I just sit lean. Or it's unc to crump. And I'm doing like crazy. Throwing your back out. He's not quite hitting the moves, but he's got a swag. He's into that clown shit. Yeah. Like everybody in that way.
Starting point is 00:09:34 That professor who's stacking when he like does. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. When they're like, oh, what's the, woo, woo, and he's like, woo, woo, who's doing all the guys. I'm like, what the fuck? You guys are what? I need a full documentary about that guy. I think it was like an old guy who's just going to community college.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Jack, you might have just pitched like a very fun superpower. If you had the ability to just be like meet someone or see someone. something and be like, I need a full two-hour documentary on that. And you could just edit your documentary. Yeah, and it just gets like uploaded into your fucking. Did you ever think like that as a kid? I remember looking at people and like, it'd be so cool if I could just pull up all their stats right now. Well, yeah, HUDs, heads up displays, you reference Terminator.
Starting point is 00:10:11 Yeah, that should have set me up for life in that like, yeah. I hate metal glasses. I hate the idea, right. But the idea that if I can look at my, it's like, Miles Gray, Virgo. D-O-B, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, shit. I would never forget a birthday. I honestly just love the superpower, but,
Starting point is 00:10:26 old white man who's good wherever he goes. Like no matter the country, no matter the culture. It's like, yo, community college and like the fucking suburbs of Boston, great. The favelas of Brazil suddenly, they're like, oh, boom. Yeah, that's like, being able to do that would be my, like,
Starting point is 00:10:42 would be into thing that I would download from the matrix, like, through the back of my neck, if I could, you know, just being good in any hood protocol. I mean, that is the dream. Like, just walk into any, speak the language everyone is down with you. It's like, There's like a hundred movies where that's the guy's superpower.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Yeah, right? It's Reacher is like, he's an absolute physical beast. He's also a genius. He's also a rebel. He's also a cop. He's also a soldier. He also braids hair. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:09 He's like, how? He's like, bro. He's like, let me get your locks down. He's like, man, you're going to say, hey, Adderall, the movie. Yeah. All right, John, we're thrilled to have you here. I'm pumped to be here. Get to know you a little bit better in a moment. First, we're going to tell.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Our listeners, a couple of the stories we would have talked about if we hadn't had technical difficulties and started recording at a normal time. Okay, Joe Coy. Wow. Welcome to under the bus, Iheart. Under the bus. Highheart edition. No, we'll still talk. We'll probably talk about the Trump administration being confused by its own propaganda.
Starting point is 00:11:49 We'll talk about Elon Musk's difficulty coming to terms with how people feel about him. Yeah. McCauley Calkins apparently got a new Home Alone. I don't like it. Coming to Disney. I don't like it. And shark content. A lot of shark content.
Starting point is 00:12:05 Yeah. All of that. It's upon us. Mm-hmm. It is. But before any of that shit, John, we do like, I don't know why I keep calling you John. Gabris, we like to ask our guests, what is something. Hey, Johnny.
Starting point is 00:12:18 What's something from your search history that's revealing about who you are? My most recent search, if I'm just being, I should have done something that was a little more punched up, but I'm just going to be pure and honest. It was Galapagos Beach vacation question mark. Oh, yeah. And search, I'll hold this for my overrated, but I want to go away to the Galapagos. I'm kind of obsessed with like marine life and stuff like that. Yeah, and so I kind of want to go there, but I also maybe.
Starting point is 00:12:46 You want to go to the ghosts. He wants to go from Unc to Crunk. Yeah, I want to go from Alk to Crunk. With a tortoise. I want to get a torta and hit the tortoise. Yeah. Yeah, dude. But I want to also tag it like with an Ecuadorian beach trip too.
Starting point is 00:12:58 So I can like end it with like some ecology shit and then like five days of laying around. And then you'll be Charles Narwin. Yeah, nah it. NAR it up, dude. That's the fucking. I don't even know that. It's here Ecuador? I believe so.
Starting point is 00:13:11 I might be actually wrong. Literally have no idea. I'm like Galapagos, Darwin, turtles. I think they're off the coast of Ecuador. Oh, that's dope. Yeah. Galapagos Protocol. Galapah ghost to the polls.
Starting point is 00:13:25 There you go. What is something you think is underrated? Oh, shit, underrated. Okay, phone calls in 2026. I'll say it, phone calls. I've been calling some homies lately. And it's been a real treat. Lost my number, huh?
Starting point is 00:13:44 Yeah, I've been calling homies, not collies. Wow. Wow. You know, exactly. Other people who get high professionally. Yeah, no, I've been, I've got to, you know, I've moved to across the country like 14 years ago. And I've rekindled some New York friendships just with like a weekly or twice a month phone call. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:07 It's been really fun. It's kind of easy when you have to like, all right, shit, I got to drive to the east side to go get drinks with a friend. Easy. Yeah. And I'm going to, drive home, call my friends in Hawaii. I miss you, bro. You just got to plan that timing, right? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:19 There's a window. with it. Yeah. Yeah. And that's been, that's been a lot of fun for me. It's something that seemed annoying for a long time. And now I almost prefer it. And also, I think a part of it might be, I don't know what's going on if it's either my fat thumbs, my broken brain or the fucking new iOS or my new iPhone. Typing is harder than it's ever been before on the fucking phone. I don't know what is going on. More than ever. Yeah, I don't know. Maybe I have like weird, like thumb oils or some shit. Yeah. I'm just swiping. Oh, you're doing like that. Yeah, because I, if I, I know the shapes and usually I get accurate. When I,
Starting point is 00:14:50 my fingertip, they are just too big. I fuck it up so much. And it's like, I get frustrated and I'm just like, ugh, I'm done talking. It's like, you ghosted me, Gabris. Like, no, I just can't fucking type. I spiked my phone on the fucking ground because it couldn't get P or O to spell right. Because I kept saying pool. Right.
Starting point is 00:15:07 The other thing I think with phone calls though too is it like, dudes just don't open up over text. No. So you go, hey, what's new? Oh, not much, dude. Same shit. I call that same friend. Bro, what's up? Dude.
Starting point is 00:15:19 So all this shit's been going down. I'm like, exactly. Sometimes there's like bits and conversation. It's like it's easy to respond with just a bit over text. And then like on conversation you do a bit and then you could be like no, but for real. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Was murdered, man. Talk to me about this.
Starting point is 00:15:35 All right. All right. I guess I dress the elephant in the room here. The bits about his wife's murder are also. They're banging though. Yeah. He was so funny. How many arms did the guy have?
Starting point is 00:15:46 Yeah. Yeah. He kind of goes hard on the bits about his murdered wife. I didn't kill my wife. I don't care. We all agree different, man. We all agree different. No, it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:16:03 His wife just died. Somebody at the bar with you. No, it's cool. It's cool. Yeah, his wife was just murdered, man. But we're dealing with it, dude. He's a good guy, dude. You're good, right?
Starting point is 00:16:13 Yeah. What is something you think is overrated? This was tough. I've been thinking all morning about it. And I think I'm in such a weird positive headspace. I was hard time finding something that's overrated. But I will say every streaming services UI is overrated. Every one of them sucks.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Look, Netflix is dog shit, but they got it. They're the best of the worst. They are the easiest to use, whether I like what they got out there. But it is the easiest to use. Some of this other shit is so fucking. And then, of course, if you're doing it through your Samsung smart TV or your Apple, blah, blah, blah, or your I heart. You know, I'm just trying to throw some company shit. Your eye heart system.
Starting point is 00:16:56 Yeah. Yeah. The I heart system. The Roku. A full takeover. Whatever you're using, it's like always different and always complicated. And back in the day, that's the old man podcast here. I'm about to.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Yeah. Fox, ABC and NBC, we're the same to use. Like it's just like, oh, my TV. Now when I'm like, I want to switch to Hulu, I'm like, fuck, okay, like I'm going to relearn how this works. Go to the back of your TV. Yeah. Relearn how to rewind and like everyone's got a different rewind.
Starting point is 00:17:25 And it's like, I can't fucking like, yeah. It used to be universal for a reason. Right. Yeah. For ease of use. Like even like no matter who your cable provider was, everyone had the same two fucking boxes. Right. And that same remote that was like fucking three feet long.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Like, yeah, dude. Eyes closed. I know how to do this. Yeah. Now I'm like holding my. phone to my TV remote so I could see it at dark and like figure out I'm like oh there's the fucking home button
Starting point is 00:17:49 right right yeah yeah I get it overrated yeah big proof there UX yes yeah it's not just that too yeah no it is that it's definitely partially that it is that no it actually it's all that actually yeah the part I hate is when like some apps don't fucking remember
Starting point is 00:18:05 what you were watching and like sometimes I don't even remember and I'm like what the f is this the episode I was even watch I don't even know where I'm at And sometimes I'll jump, I'll jump back, this is so specific. I'll jump back to episode three because I fell asleep at some point. Now I'm watching episode three. And when it jumps, it jumps to five because four is also played.
Starting point is 00:18:22 But I'm like, nah, I was asleep last night. Just play this in fucking order, man. Go back. We already watched like three minutes of that. So we figured your three episodes ahead now. You can't go back. There is no going back. It's actually impossible.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Onward and up. And some other things are just getting worse because, uh, just because of in shit Right. Yeah. Like, I have a streaming app that just keeps fucking up, like prime video.
Starting point is 00:18:49 I tried to watch dog shit. I tried to watch Operation Hail Mary or whatever that one's called. Yeah. Like, it just kept quitting on me and like going back. And I was like,
Starting point is 00:19:00 well, clearly I don't have this updated. And then I went to the app store. It was fully updated. It just kept, like, dying on me, taking me,
Starting point is 00:19:08 and then I'd go back and it would be like 20 minutes before. Right. Like, yeah. That's, and that's crazy. They put it on you, too. You're like, I guess I should try to update this. Yeah, yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:19:18 And it's like, oh, no. I've done something bad. It must be my troubleshooting. Have you thought you're a fucking idiot? I'm like, why is that number one on here? It's fucking stupid. What did you think of Project Hail Mary? I thought it was very lonely, like, in a way that like, I felt like it had like, I liked it.
Starting point is 00:19:37 I thought that it indicated that like something about us has changed. the fact that it was like as big a hit as it was. And he was this like single person who like didn't really want to go back to be a rat. Like they didn't even give him like a friend or a family member or
Starting point is 00:19:55 a like a love interest back on earth to go back to. Dude Rocky was the love interest. Rocky was the love interest. Yeah but it is you're right. It is sort of like I it's a movie about a guy who's going to just do his job that to the end
Starting point is 00:20:11 of his life. That's like what the world is expecting of all of us. Yeah. I think so. And like, I don't think that's necessarily a crit. Like, I think they made a movie that was good,
Starting point is 00:20:21 like clearly resonated with the people who are watching movies, like the modern world. It's just interesting that that's where we're at where, like you can kind of do away with a, you know, plot cliche that we've always needed where it's like, well, they have to be going back to a loved one.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Yeah. And it's like, a lot of people have no one in their lives. You're like, oh, that's brutal. Part of me it felt like how I felt like post lockdown where like it gave me as an introvert like free reign to be like, yeah, bro, sometimes you just got to kick it by yourself. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:51 And like with him being like, you want to go back to the old ways? Like, nah, you know, I might just hang on this really cool beach orb. Yeah, I'm a talk with rock kids, man. That's actually kind of cool to me, you know? I'm a sucker for science will save us movies. I just always love it. I always talk about this, but my favorite scene in like a movie ever is in Apollo 13 when they pull. lore out the con they're like this is what the astronauts have up there and we need to fix it.
Starting point is 00:21:14 It's just like nerds getting to work. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That shit fucking works on me every time. Yeah. And I feel like it's a movie that got everyone pumped and it's like, oh, yeah, it's about science and working together across lines. And then instead, mostly people are like, I wish I could be alone in a ship for 180 days. You're like, oh, that's the wrong mess.
Starting point is 00:21:33 I need that. I wish I had a rock friend. Okay. Ooh, that's about working collectively together. I don't know, man. all my friends are work friends and then I got this one bitch ex-wife who didn't get me didn't get why I was so into my job yeah but anyways I liked it though yeah I saw that shit on mushrooms at the chain at man's chinese I was fucking crying for like half of it what got you um
Starting point is 00:22:01 the uh part where uh uh rocky says like oh spoiler like rocky's like wait I can go home a little later. Rocky watched his crew die. Rocky won't watch Grace die. And then undercut, very funnily, undercutter. I was like, I thought you came to terms with. He's like, yeah, well, I was maybe lying. I was like, that's a funny. Yeah, that was funny.
Starting point is 00:22:23 He's like, no, man, that's just a thing you say. Nobody wants to die. Ah, shit, Ryan Gassling. A true treasure. Yeah, it's one of our best. Yeah. Yeah. I can't wait to see the new ghost writer. Yeah. That's, and I'm excited that one of our best is working, like, exclusively with Sean Levy going
Starting point is 00:22:42 forward. And also one of our best, he's Canadian. Right. Right. We still, and I, and. Very 51st state of us as Americans. My favorite, my favorite guys right now are all like the dudes who don't do TV and commercials and shit like that.
Starting point is 00:22:57 And Pattinson, of course, is British. Yeah. And then, uh, Salomey, who I love is like a New York kid, but then he fucking goes and does like a Cali commercial. Yeah. And the whole general. Jenner stuff is driving me. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:23:10 I wish you were just, and then who comes back into my life who maybe walked away from the path of like the pure hardest for a while, but Matt and Ben are fucking bad. Dude, yeah, I love those fucking guys. They're a fucking heater right now. I fucking love those guys.
Starting point is 00:23:25 The fact that Ben is in the press so much right now because Matt is in the Odyssey is such a funny take on that. Like, no one knows who Damon's wife is. Everyone knows that Ben Affleck's like, if Ben Affleck visited, set and you never hear about anyone's partner.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nope. They're my fucking idols. There are Dan and Dave from the 92 Olympics. Say less. Which one's on steroids? Ben. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:23:52 With that Phoenix tattoo? On the back? That's a fucking juice tattoo. I never seen like, bro, yeah, I get it. Your blood type is Dunkin' Donuts. Let's go. Tapestry, full tapestry on his back. Let's take a quick break.
Starting point is 00:24:05 We'll come back. We'll talk about the news. Hey, I'm Ruby Carr, the host of the podcast, Encore. Check out our brand new episodes featuring music from the show that everyone is reheating as we speak. Heated rivalry. Join me as I go behind the songs that brought Shane and Elia together. I'll tell you the stories of Fice, My Moon, My Man, Wolf Parades, I'll Believe in Anything, and tattoos all the things she said, and how they all became a part of this global phenomenon. Stream Encore on IHeart Radio, Crave, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up fam? I'm sports journalist Ari Chambers. Hey, what's up y'all? It's your girl, Sam J. Starting point is 00:24:52 Because let's be real. Women's sports is giving us way too much to talk about these days. So Kelsey Finler, she became the first female solo roer to go from California to Hawaii. My first thought is like, what's up with the snacks? Like, what are we eating? I remember you thinking that. Listen to Podlandia. Ayo rewatch on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Chelsea Handler from Dear Chelsea.

Starting point is 00:27:56 And we're back. We're back. And there was an interesting interview with World Smartest Man, Elon Musk, with The Economist. The Economist. Shout out to day one listeners who remember our ad for The Economist that we recorded like it was a monster truck rally. They somehow approved it. Yeah. And they somehow approved it.
Starting point is 00:28:17 Like, geopolitics. For like refresh. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. Did that lead to more subscriptions? No. No, no, no. Interesting overlap. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:30 But anyways, Elon Musk sat down with the economist and, you know, it was an interesting back and forth where they were like, so everybody like fucking hates you. Yeah, I mean, so the editor-in-chiefs. What other question do you ask? Actually, people ate you. Yeah, yeah. People hate you. The media in general. It's you. You're bad. I think more people know who you are than I am than I do. And he's like, I think more people know who you are than I am. Right. He's like, I mean the media in general.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Yeah, right. Yeah. Okay, yes. People hate the media more than Elon Musk. It's like, yeah. And it's also like that's an unfair equivocation. Right. So this, this interview, right, got a few wacky quotes. The one that got, I think the most headlines was he's like, I think with Doge, you know, I got a little carried away. was you got carried away with your like literal like death like cuts that will lead to literal child bringing a chainsaw on stage when did you get carried away you dumpy it wasn't that it was the other stuff um i'd like you to be carried away by six ugandan guys i want to see a guinea paul bear video yeah i want to see those guys in the tuxedos warming up oh i'm so racist i got the wrong nomination. Yeah, it's okay. It's okay. And I'm on Reddit enough to be like, it's Ganean, Paul
Starting point is 00:29:43 Bearers. Excuse me. I'm so sorry. But anyway, then, you know, he was also asked, you know, like, the whole White House thing kind of fucked a lot of things up for you, put you like in all these crosshairs, people saw that you were a Nazi. Did he regret it? Not really. And again, people were like, this is where he's at. He's just going to say things like, oh, I got carried away rather than taking any kind of accountability. And that led to this one question, because he was also saying shit about, like, The UK is going to have civil war very soon with the numbers I'm seeing. And the editor and she was like, once the last time you've been to the UK?
Starting point is 00:30:16 A few years. And she was like, so, so, so, so, fam, I live there. Yeah. And that's not what it is. You're making up absolutely false stats to sort of prop this up. And shame on you because you have your little grubby hands on the levers of Twitter and you can push out whatever kind of shit you want, including they talked about that army hammer movie. where he dropped the fucking whole thing
Starting point is 00:30:40 and he's been promoting it he's like this is actually what the world needs is another uve ball dog shit when he was asked somebody goes I just I thought it was a good movie that people should see you're like
Starting point is 00:30:49 you're completely missing the point and then it got to this whole thing again where again she's like look dude you've got all these followers you move like a piece of shit it's like why people fucking love you like a piece of shit that's such a fucking thing's light of someone
Starting point is 00:31:04 so wait in that was actually in the economy you move like a piece of of shits, people loathe you. I'll just play the whole clip because a lot of people maybe have heard about this interaction, but this is where he has to hear, like, junior high bully stuff. You know, everyone hates
Starting point is 00:31:18 you, right? And he handles it really well. That this man who has always power, he's the world's richest man, he thinks he has a right to influence our politics. It makes people, it's why, you know, we started this conversation saying superlatives, it's why people loathe you. I mean, some people do loathe you. Yes, some people do.
Starting point is 00:31:35 But do understand why? Okay, what you're doing is helpful for Western democracy. Maybe some people do love me. And that's probably true. I don't care. I don't care. But the fact that, as you pointed out, a quarter billion people follow me is that I think a lot more people actually like me than don't. And I think a lot more people hate you and the media more than you realize.
Starting point is 00:32:03 More than you realize. His head is getting larger and his face is getting. He's starting to look like a fucking moon. That's the thing that HGH. It doesn't make your face growth. Tracy. Yes, yeah, it looks like small face. Yeah, was that one of the guys?
Starting point is 00:32:16 Yeah, it was prune face, small face, HGH belly, you know, organ growth guy. Weird, weird chest cavity man. Giant organs, his chest cavity. Yeah. I feel like you, if you sat down with him in person, you'd be able to like hear his chest cat, like his rib cage, like, creaking like the boards on the ship and like
Starting point is 00:32:35 an horse. Now, I beat this drum all the time, but what's up with rich motherfuckers just still needing to be in the limelight? Like, if I'm as rich, if the amount of money I need that you would literally never hear from me again is probably one, one thousandth of what this is. I'm three sponsored posts away from that. Yeah, if you, if I, if I, if I, if someone gave me $8 million, you'd never hear from me again. Oh, yeah. I'd be like, I'd just be living in some fucking, I'd be like, uh, what's his name from Shawshank? I'd be in Sewat Nejo just fishing and shit like that.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Andy Dufrean. I mean, I think that's the difference, right? Like, these people, they get to this billionaire level because nothing will ever satisfy them. Nothing, they'll never be good enough in their own mind. So, like, it has to be more and more where, like, I feel like anybody else, like, dude, I don't want to deal with anyone or anything ever. I don't want anyone to look at me. I'd rather just be laying down all day.
Starting point is 00:33:29 And why politics? Why not just be out there gassing up your own products to get more money or your own pet cause? You know, like, the fucking, who's the Shackler, what's the Sackler family, they fucking killed millions of people. But they were like, we should make some museums or some shit, right? It's like, you used to have to do something to like, upset the evil. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It doesn't have to do anything. Well, I've got the Tesla diner.
Starting point is 00:33:53 Right. I live over by that. I love driving past it. There's a protest out. Every day. They're like, he's a fucking Nazi. I'm like, never let this motherfucker sleep. Are they still blasting movies on the side of the building, too?
Starting point is 00:34:04 I think so. Oh, my God. This guy deserves no peace for the rest of his life. Not at all. Not at all. So this is another interesting moment, too, where he gives a really cool prediction. He goes all, he talks about, UK civil wars, imminent, blah, blah, but then he kind of contradicts himself.
Starting point is 00:34:20 But no, no, that would really matter because of the AI robotics, the singularity that's approaching. So he wraps his interview up with this really, with this really weird prediction about AI singularity. Because, again, I think that's where he got back to his core business because he's always been like, Tesla's not a fucking car company. It's a robot fucker company. It's a taxi thing now. So he's got to pump up the AI singularity, as all these people are meant to do. So here's the way, like sort of the interview ends with him talking, really killer prediction about AI. The AI robotics revolution will happen soon.
Starting point is 00:35:03 It will happen sooner than Civil War in Britain. I agree. I would say Civil War in Britain is probably 20 years away. And the AI robot singularity is 10 years away. Well, hopefully these benign, all-powerful AIs will prevent such outcomes. They probably will. Previous prediction doesn't matter then. UK is going to have a civil war, unless, of course,
Starting point is 00:35:33 AI gets singularity and it will solve it. Okay. So what's happening in the civil one that you were talking about? Doesn't matter at all? Man, I fucking hate this guy. Someone in my family said, I told my mom I hated him and then someone in my family brought him up and my mom goes, be careful around chanting. He hates him. And this family member goes, well, why do you hate him? I'm like,
Starting point is 00:35:53 well, answer me this. Why do you like? Yeah. And this woman says, because he's fighting George Soros. Oh, yes. I was like, okay. Okay. Yeah, got it. Jared. And mate. I picked my book up and just went back to my book. And this family member was like, what are you?
Starting point is 00:36:11 And I'm like, I think if we continue this conversation, we're going to hate each other. Or I can record it and you're playing it back for you where you will sound like Urbush, Oburstumban, Furo. Yeah, and I don't want to get into what is George Soros doing to affect your life here on Long Island. But also, Mike. And what is George Soros? What is that code for? Let's just dig deep. Are you so ignorant?
Starting point is 00:36:31 You don't even know what? the mud you're playing in is. Oh, man. Brutal. I just Googled Elon Musk predictions because I wanted to find the long, incredibly long list of predictions he's gotten wrong. Like he's been predicted. He's like, well, Tesla will have self-driving cars by, you know, 2019.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Right. He's been making wrong, like it would be on Mars, but at 2026. And he's been making incorrect predictions, nonstop, forever. And financially benefiting from them like, Crazy. That's the real problem is that that just swings the market. And you Google Elon Musk predictions and it's all about this prediction that he just made. Elon Musk makes disturbing five-year AI prediction.
Starting point is 00:37:15 It's just like, God damn. Guys, what the fuck? He's wearing the same leather biker jacket, dude. Every time. He's wearing when he made the last one. It's crazy to make so much money being wrong. It's so fucking crazy. Like it's so unfair.
Starting point is 00:37:29 Yeah, that's what's so infuriating. You're like, this guy's an idiot. Right. And he's getting paid. on it. Right. Trump is like, Trump is like, yeah, we're going to open up the straight. We're going to close the straight. It's Friday, it's Friday before the closing bell. We're going to fix it.
Starting point is 00:37:41 It's going to be open. Yeah, it's like Monday. It's like, we're bombing them. I'm killing them all. No bridges. All war crimes. Ding, ding, ding, ding. Nass X's we're going to be. Okay. I'm so tired of this fucking ship. Yeah. Ding. Oh, wait, hold on.
Starting point is 00:37:55 What about that fucking trailer for the I am Rocky movie? Did you guys see that? Hey, it looks pretty good. Dude, you have a Jack. I saw yesterday during the pre, before the Odyssey, it's about the making of Rocky. And it's just wild to hear. And like, I always think of Rocky voice as like a joke character. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:15 So someone doing like a serious film doing it, I was kind of like, I don't know if this is hilarious. It does feel like a mad TV sketch a little bit. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I wrote it and I got to start it. Don't get the lines in it. I can't believe I've seen it.
Starting point is 00:38:33 is somebody who loves Rocky. The trailer's so... I don't know why. I got the biggest kick out of it. Is it a miniseries? Or is it? I think it's a movie. I was alerted to it
Starting point is 00:38:41 because someone said, why does the guy from the new Rocky movie sound like Gabris doing a Rocky impression? Right. Someone tagged me in it and I found it. And I was like, wow, this is... Oh, it's by Peter Farrelly?
Starting point is 00:38:51 One of the Farrelly brothers is direct? Yeah, but the Green Book one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The Green Book Farley, who lost his way. He's just serious. There would be a diary a gag in this video. One Farrelly went all.
Starting point is 00:39:03 lesbian stuff. The other fairly went all serious Oscar-80 stuff. Yeah, it's weird. Together, they're gross out cum-based comedies. But separately, they tackled two, like, interesting facets of society. One literally covered, like, a lesbian love story, and the other did, like, an exploration of, a poor
Starting point is 00:39:19 exploration of racism. Right, right, right. Oh, my God. I mean, they made some genius movies. Yeah. And more like, it's time people take us seriously. Right. It's like, no, dude, just it's not all dumb and dumber. Oh, wait, no, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:39:34 It's one of the Cohen brothers who's making lesbian movies. That's right. Yeah, I got a little confused. Sorry, yes, I apologize. Don't come for me. Argentina. Don't come for me. This is me when I'm looking up with an Argentinian woman.
Starting point is 00:39:47 You better not come. Yeah. I would know what to do if you did. Please. I will freak out. I've never seen it and I don't want to start now. No, I mean, I want to continue to believe it's a myth. Yep.
Starting point is 00:40:01 No way, Jose. Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. You've heard the chaos. Now you can see it. Hello. My gosh. Watch all your favorite podcasts from start to finish,

Starting point is 00:40:50 Because let's be real. Women's sports is giving us way too much to talk about these days. Starting point is 00:41:25 Because we're not just interested in what happened. We're interested in why everyone's talking about it. Because everyone watches women's sports. Listen to everyone watches women's sports. On the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, Portlandia fans. Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen here.

I thought you were all going to write a song. I remember you thinking that. Listen to Podlandia. Ayo rewatch on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:42:43 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Nick Totoro. You probably know me from NYPD Blue, The Longest Yard, or Spike Lee's Black Landsman. But I'm also from Queens, which means I know pizza. And on my new podcast, delivering happiness with Nick Tatoro, I deliver pizza from Prince Street Pizza to a new guest.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Are you delivering pizza now? Then we sit down for a real conversation. I've shared a slice with everyone from Seth, Rollins. What are you doing my belt? To Alex Rodriguez. Just to let you people know, we're talking to one of the goats here. To Bill Burr. I don't think I've ever met somebody so exactly
Starting point is 00:43:19 out of their mind as I am. And now, we even have more great guests coming up, including the great John Tuturo. It's called happiness. Delivering Happiness. Mariano Rivera. Oh my God. And many, many more. Open your free high, heart radio app. Search Delivering
Starting point is 00:43:35 Happiness with Nick Totoro. And listen now. And we're back. We're back. Let's talk Mac. We talked sly. Let's talk Mac. Macaulay. This is all based on reporting from the guy makes the town podcast about Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Oh, yeah. Bellany. So he said that McCauley Calkin just pitched a home alone reboot to Disney. And Disney is fucking salivating to make it. Of course. That is believable. Dusting off old, ancient, I, for money? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's kind of gross, but yeah. They're even willing to fund a
Starting point is 00:44:19 Culkin Passion Project if he stars in what would be the seventh Home Alone movie. What would a McCauley Culkin passion project? I thought this was it. Yeah. This is like a thing that he talked about like a couple years ago, right? Macaulay Culkin. So yeah, we talked about that like he at some junket said that I kind of had this idea for a McCullough, for a Home Alone reboot. I'm either a widower or a divorcee. I'm raising a kid and all that stuff. It seems like a very serious. I'm working really hard and I'm not really paying enough attention and the kid is
Starting point is 00:44:56 kind of getting miffed at me. And then I get locked out. Kevin's son won't, uh, my son won't let me in. And he's the one setting the traps for me. Wow. Disney was like, sorry, please stop her. I'm going to come. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:12 That's a little, a little, a little. lower stakes than getting your house robbed on Christmas. So it's a little bit. I think it's just there, right? Father and son getting like, but you up the ante to like it's like taken. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's like Eastern European,
Starting point is 00:45:29 Eastern European like sex trafficking criminals outside. People are going to murder him. If they successfully break him. That is the plan. They're going to fucking murder him. I can't. Yeah. I mean, it's sure.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Or yeah, like, or McCauley Cokin is, Kevin McAllister is now old, and he's like bedridden or in a wheelchair or something. And his house is being robbed or attacked and he's got to like, he's got to play like man in the van for his son who's doing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a good idea. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, or is he kind of like that was like Grand Torino kind of thing. Yeah, he's like, I used to be bad. Like, he's like, you don't want to know, but I'll do what this was last time.
Starting point is 00:46:11 It's like unforgiving. He quit drinking 20 years ago And then he falls off the way And he like turns his house into a kill house Yeah, I'm here for it. I'm fucking there. That version I like so much better Than the one that he picks and some rope.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Right. Yeah. For what, dad, you'll see. You'll never forget the sound. These motherfuckers will pay. You'll never forget the sound boy. Well, because also too, like the thing that The best version, right?
Starting point is 00:46:40 John Hurd is still alive the dad Kathy O'Hara is still alive Kathy O'Hara still alive like Kathy O'Hara still a lot like there's a lot of seminal characters I think like Buzz is like like a scumbag now or something
Starting point is 00:46:53 Buzz's girlfriend Woof so Yeah They re-reck on it So it's not problematic No that was her name That's why we said that It's a Polish
Starting point is 00:47:05 slash it was Woffinsky And they called her Wolf It's just a nickname So there was was a small role in, I haven't seen Home Sweet Home Alone. I have. Her Majesty, Miles' wife, is swears by it. So I'm planning to watch it with my kids.
Starting point is 00:47:21 She accosted Rob Delaney to tell him about it. Yeah. And he was shocked. Yeah. She's like, I got to tell you, Home Sweet Home Alone, one of my favorite movies. And he goes, really? I guess I got to watch it now. It's just, it's just like, what do you like about it?
Starting point is 00:47:37 And then she started explaining and she thought like his, you know, She's worked in late night, so she has, like, very quick interactions with, like, actors and stuff all the time. But she was like, it was really interesting. Because I said, I liked it, we had to sit down because he really had to understand why I liked it so much. And it ended up being more about him questioning her. Yeah, I mean, hold on. Can I video record you saying this out loud? I'm going to send this to my agent.
Starting point is 00:47:59 It's just like, for me, I thought it was just, like, funny. It's like, I was surprised that I laughed out loud when I watched it. Yeah, that's the bar. That's enough of a victory at this point. Oh, yeah, 100%. A great cast. I was like, shit, I'm not going to lie. That was a good joke.
Starting point is 00:48:12 Right. And like, whenever something does that, I'm like, good to see something that was legitimately comedic and thought about and written on the screen rather than like, you got hit the balls again. But Buzz is in that one. Yeah, Buzz is a cop. Yeah. Oh, that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:48:27 That makes perfect sense. It's about the downward mobility of America, you know? They were like so rich and then Buzz is a cop. I know. Right. I mean, maybe he's just in it for the sadism, I guess. I could have swore something something happened with that guy.
Starting point is 00:48:44 Devin Rat Trey is his name. What a name. Oof. Devin Rat Trey? Oh, yeah. No, this key's bad. No. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:48:52 No. So being a cop is like one of the least bad things on this one of the 100%. Um, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Buzz? Yeah, Buzz is.
Starting point is 00:49:02 Full-on sex cream. Oh. No. Yeah, yeah. Oof. Yeah. Why am I so shocked? That guy would play.
Starting point is 00:49:10 shitty character. But anyway, so he's not going to be in the movie. No. Well, that's okay. We can recast
Starting point is 00:49:15 if they need an older fat white guy to play bombs. Come on. Oh, they went with Gat. Oh, fuck,
Starting point is 00:49:23 not again. Not again. This motherfucker. What was that? I saw a clip of you recently talking about how you fucking bombed an audition.
Starting point is 00:49:33 The beep audition. So bad. That's what it was. Yeah. Oh, so bad. I love the show so much. I love Julian Louis Dreyf is so bad.
Starting point is 00:49:40 And I just tried to make a joke in the room that went over. I talked about on Stavvy's pod. That's what it was. Yeah. I said like, she was like, hi, I'm Julia.
Starting point is 00:49:47 And I was like, yeah, you seem familiar to me. Like, as a joke and no one laughed. And it was just like, and then I was absolutely rattled immediately, like mouth sweats.
Starting point is 00:49:55 And then I got to, then I got to do the audition. It was fucking hard day. Hard day. Don't do that. I never booked it. I actually don't think I ever even got invited back to Allison Jones casting. No.
Starting point is 00:50:06 I'm pretty sure I got black. Allison Jones the goat. Yeah, the one who cast every car. Everything. Yeah, yeah. I remember, I can't remember. I think it's my 20 when I realized I'm like,
Starting point is 00:50:15 every show I watch is being casted by this Allison Jones person. She's got her head. She's got her finger on the pulse. John. Jonathan. James. Christopher Gabris. Jacqueline O'Brien.
Starting point is 00:50:32 Always a pleasure. You know my phone. Joccalon. Miles per hour, Gray. Thank you. Per hour. My Japanese. mother's maiden name.
Starting point is 00:50:42 That's how you know I'm biracial. That's how old. Yeah, yeah. It wasn't obvious enough. I feel bad for like that run of like white passing actors. I'm like, shit, bro. I got to embrace my like other last name now to get some work. I'm like, there you go.
Starting point is 00:51:02 Well, so many of them changed their last name is to be white. And they're like, okay, well, I got to go back to my other one for real. And then I remember like calling somebody. I'm like, wait, is that your real? And I was like, yeah, yeah. I'm like, oh, my bad. I didn't know if this was like cynical, like being like, is this the wave? Like, diversity?
Starting point is 00:51:18 I get it. I get it. Always a pleasure to come on TVZ with the boys, guys. Come on, yeah. And I also learned a lot about communications and linking up soundboards and stuff like that today. Although we did it. We didn't. I learned to start my recording.
Starting point is 00:51:37 We're all learning things around here. Where can people find you, follow, you see, you, hear you, all that good stuff? I'm at Gabris on social media, and I've got a few podcasts. Action Boys is a Patreon podcast. A superstructure podcast with Julian Field from QAA. We're doing like a political podcast. He explains stuff to me and I make jokes about it. And I learn.
Starting point is 00:51:57 I'm actually, it's a really self-serving podcast. I mean, they all kind of are. And then I have staying alive, a health and wellness podcast hosted by the physically unhealthy and the mentally unwell, me and Adam Pally. Adapali, whose widowed deceased mother is it's her birthday as well today.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Oh, yeah, another mom birthday. Yeah. Okay. Well, rest of power. Is there a work of media
Starting point is 00:52:19 that you've been enjoying? Oh, yeah. I mean, Reacher's coming back soon, so I'm pumped about that. But weirdly enough, I'm embarrassed to even cop to this.
Starting point is 00:52:30 But the live action Avatar, The Last Airbender on Netflix? I heard it's good. I am kind of, digging it. The cast is kind of fun. It's fun to see them sort of play it a little cartoony, but also a little serious. And I think the casting is like, like on point. Are the effects good too? The effects are okay.
Starting point is 00:52:49 You're doing a lot to try and do air benders stuff on camera. But I'm really a, you know, direct to video action movie guy and direct to video like a martial arts movie. So like, I see fake fire and fake blood like every day. None of it stresses me out. So like, Appa flying around as, you know, it doesn't look too bad, but I can't believe how into it. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:11 That's a great. The animated show is a good one too. It's one of my favorites of all time. Yeah, if you have it, like don't watch the live action, watch the fucking anime. Yeah, it's like one of the best shows of all time. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:54:25 The second you play is like when your mom calls and she's like, guess what? Your aunt was in another car accident. You're like, no. You need to go pick up her car. It's always that shit. She's in it still. It's always that shit.
Starting point is 00:54:37 Yeah. And talk to her. She can't fall asleep. She had a concussion, so you have to keep her awake. Oh, fuck. She's already watching. They think she's under the floorboard. Real squish.
