Starting point is 00:02:12 Do it. Oh, hello there and good evening and welcome to this edition of the approved list of third-party trenders or vendors. Okay, whatever you have. Trenders and vendors. If you ever deal with third-party vendorsers. Or vendors. Okay, whatever you have. Trenders and vendors. If you ever deal with third-party vendors, man, you know how it is. Sometimes you're like, are they in the list of approved vendors now? I've got to get them in the system.
Starting point is 00:02:33 I don't know, man. Let's go with something else. Anyway, thanks to Johnny Davis, the trendo, a.k.a. title deity, that throws lightning bolts from on high through Twitter to my screen or Jack's, depending on the day. That's, who's that? Who are you? Who is that?
Starting point is 00:02:52 Oh, I'm not, I'm not Jack. I'm not Jack. I knew that. I didn't know who you were. I knew you. Okay, that's right. But who are you? Because the most I could tell was you're not Jack.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I am Jamie. Oh, Jamie. It's me. What the fuck, fool? How you been? I'm good. I'm wearing my sleep headphones in the day. Yo, that's a flex because it looks like a cool headband and you're about to go like shopping in Aspen or something.
Starting point is 00:03:18 I look like a rich lady, but I'm actually just wearing my scary headphones. Yeah, you got Aspen, like Aspen%er vibes, and I'm here for it. Let's dive on into the trendiverse. Let's do it. Let's see. For people who are trend-averse, please listen up because we'll make it easier. Now, the first item that is trending is Liz Cheney. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:42 You might remember her as being the spawn of Darth Vader or Dick Cheney. She is also, I think, the third most powerful congressperson in terms of the GOP in the House. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:53 And she's getting a lot of heat because she made the idiotic mistake of talking nice about Dr. Fauci in public against the wishes of Der president oh no oh no dr good uh dr nice this is yeah this it sucks ass man oh yeah okay so what what is yeah so so wait i want to make sure that
Starting point is 00:04:32 i'm this this story is is new to me um so what were the what was the exact sequence of events here well i think you've seen the sequence of events is there was this thing around February called COVID-19 that began to enter the consciousness of America. Oh, sure, sure, sure. And basically, it's this whole thing of how Fauci has basically always just been saying, like, listen to the science, not this fucking Lysol hydroxychloroquine warrior. Listen to the science. I'm telling you as a fucking scientist, I'm here to fuck with people. I'm here to tell you, like, as an expert in this field, what's going on.
Starting point is 00:05:08 And every day, like, every week, they've gotten more and more aggressive with Fauci, whether that's, like, Trump saying stuff or Peter Navarro putting an op-ed in USA Today, like, tearing him down, saying, like, everything he told me about coronavirus was wrong. And then when that blew up in their face, like, the administration
Starting point is 00:05:25 was like okay stop talking bad about fauci like that we got to figure out another thing but either way she just i guess during a meeting she had let people know uh you know they were just saying look i'm i think the other thing was she was backing someone's primary opponent it's just getting you know she's i think at the end of the day look liz cheney is part of like that real conservative machine like the one that like you know right started an entire war in the region of earth um that like that kind of gop that's where she's at and i know those people play the long game because they actually are they think about power whereas this group this yeah they're like the gop i mean this is the. We're talking about dynasty-style power.
Starting point is 00:06:07 It's a different kind of power that they're trying to preserve. God, conservative infighting is so uncomfortable because you're like, I don't want to be thinking that Liz Cheney is more correct than a, like, oh, this story sucks ass. I repeat. I'm rooting for, I mean, is she Liz Skywalker
Starting point is 00:06:25 if her dad's Darth Vader? I don't know. Does she bring balance to the force? Every voice that you have heard has been Dick Cheney. Oh, shit. Dynastic politics are so sinister. Yeah, but to your point, though, too, when you're part of that, it's like we don't end up here.
Starting point is 00:06:43 You don't end up with my name being Cheney and me also being here trying to destabilize the earth unless you kind of play the long game whereas right now the gop is playing like the reactionary like what do we do no let's try to remind you we're playing the generational nepotism long game okay uh you guys are gonna fuck up this whole system of oligarchy and capitalism so allow us to give a few scraps out to quell to quell the proletariat and then move from there the next thing trending is robin williams because today uh is his birthday and this is just as sad uh i think happy birthday king do you have a favorite robin williams anything like a thing about that makes you laugh um i just i mean i love all of his where i revisited world's greatest dad uh recently
Starting point is 00:07:30 wild because i had this whole thing in um it was it was prior to his passing um but i had like this wild conspiracy theory i'm like you can see robin williams penis in world's greatest dad for like two frames and i was really i was like yes you can and everyone's like no you can't there's one point where he jumps in a pool and they think they edited it out they didn't that has nothing to do with why i watched the movie i just um either way please go on actually with the penis anecdote. I think when he jumps in the pool, you can see it,
Starting point is 00:08:09 and maybe it wasn't intentional, but if you're just, you know, someone that is really going to watch the movie very slow at certain points... Frame by frame, sounds like. If you're willing to do pause, pause, pause, pause, pause, pause... Pause, pause, oh, yep.
Starting point is 00:08:22 There are a few rogue frames, and that's what i spent my time doing when i was 20 but uh but i think that i was that movie's just been on my mind because i think it's an underrated robin williams movie did you i this only makes me think of it because i was thinking of uh mrs doubtfire even though i'm like in second ed when looking at it as an adult i'm like i don't know about that as a premise but uh did you see that documentary showbiz kids on hbo yes i watched it yesterday mark yeah oh my god there her section and i'm only bringing this up because of robin williams it is harrowing i could not believe there were some moments that i was like inside like dying like seeing what i was seeing on the
Starting point is 00:09:04 screen when she talked about how her mother passed away during post for matilda and then i was like inside like dying like seeing what i was seeing on the screen when she talked about how her mother passed away during post for matilda and then she was like wasn't sure if she wanted to act and there's that one shot of her on like the red carpet where she has like that tree branch like eyeliner and she's taking the wild risk where the hair and she looks so like i'm being forced to participate in this like celebrity thing oh uh definitely worth a watch um it's a really really interesting perspective into child acting um next up is jamie you gotta just bless our ears with this wisdom what's going on with the tiktok witchcraft okay this this whole story makes me feel 100 years old.
Starting point is 00:09:49 I am going to represent the story as best I can, but I also find it very confusing. So my understanding is, so yesterday there was, in various places on Twitter, it was trending that witches were hexing the moon. It's more complicated than that. There's a pretty thorough BuzzFeed news article. This has made it into so many well-renowned news sources.
Starting point is 00:10:13 But there was a piece published yesterday by Lauren Strapagil. I said that wrong. Here's the deal with people talking about hexing the moon. So basically what happened is that there is i was aware that there are a lot of um teen witches on tiktok this is a thriving tiktok community i knew about this what i didn't know is that they are they have been hexing the moon. They've banded together and they've hexed the moon. They're called baby witches because they're relatively new to witch culture. So this is witch talk.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Baby witches hexed the fae. I don't know what the fae means. I think it might just also mean the moon. Everyone's head is exploding who's listening yeah you're not supposed to hex the moon it's something that is not done it is in poor taste to simply just hex the moon and so people who have been into the witch community for a long time are like why are baby witches hexing the moon? That's so irresponsible. Oh, so one, two, skip a few, 99, hex the moon. Hex the moon. Yeah, hex the moon is like once you've put in your Gladwell hours,
Starting point is 00:11:35 then maybe consider hexing a plant, but not the entire moon. And so now other people in the witching community are really upset and find that to be unethical and irresponsible of the baby witches on witch talks to hex the moon and now the baby witches on witch talk are responding by perhaps wanting to hex the sun which other people in the witching community say could be catastrophic so well then hold the fuck up if that's the case then why the fuck aren't the witches pulling up to solve real fucking problems if you can hex the motherfucking son come like come come correct with some like you know restorative justice witches please witch talk what has also been involved in social justice. I hope that there is more written on it.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Wasn't Brett Kavanaugh getting hexed? He was getting hexed, yes. Brett Kavanaugh has been hexed many times. The president was getting hexed, yeah. There's a lot of people, yeah, a lot of people have been rightfully hexed. But the moon is blameless, and so what prompted them to hex the moon is unclear. I feel like it might
Starting point is 00:12:46 have been just a flagrant showing of power. Are these baby witches now popular? Are they popping? Because people are like, oh shit, it's them baby witches that hex the fae. Stay out they way. Stay out the way. We're hexing the fae.
Starting point is 00:13:04 I don't know. I think that's a fair response this was done by four baby witches who said that they were quote trying to prove a point but they don't from what i can tell they did not specify what the point was and now they hex the moon and basically what i'm saying is we're fucked that's my takeaway from the other witch's response they're like well these four baby witches you know say what you will we are just anyone who associates with the moon is is so everyone is just fucked nah not me you know you know what i say hex the fay not today okay moving on to uh the last trending topic is dave chappelle uh he went to go visit kanye west uh as kanye says to check up on him uh dave chappelle went to go check in on kanye uh i think if anyone who is uh cares about kanye
Starting point is 00:14:02 west probably looks at what's happening him right now and probably sees that there are not many people around him that are acting in his best interests. He seems very distressed at the moment. And Dave Chappelle, you know, like very famously, I remember on In the Actor's Studio, talked about how the industry talks to people like Martin Lawrence or Mariah Carey and using these labels to like slander them.
Starting point is 00:14:21 But really he's like, or even himself going to africa and people like well how could you turn down all that money and he's like you have to ask yourself like what this environment is like and what's going on in this industry and like what that does to a person like it's it can be uh detrimental and i think on the other side of it the this video that came out of the all of them standing together i think the funniest thing was that kanye was like okay say something like light to bring up the mood. And Dave Chappelle is just so Dave Chappelle. He's like, motherfucker, I don't do jokes.
Starting point is 00:14:50 You can just ask me to do a joke. He's like, I don't do uplifting jokes. And it's so awkward, and it feels like I think any family video where any kid was seen as a jokester being put on the spot to tell a joke, and your response is like, ah, fuck that. Dave Chappelle seems like he's genuinely a really good friend to the people in his life i i think so i think so i
Starting point is 00:15:13 mean but i've been the two of them have been close i remember like very early on the chappelle show kanye was a guest uh but i think you know whether you think think he's feigning these sort of like moments that are getting all this press because he has an album coming out or not, you know, I think it's either way. I think it's clear that the trip from Dave Chappelle was probably warranted as someone who was checking in on a friend. So I hope that helps. I have one. I have one more thing about the witch thing. Sorry. Oh, please. Oh about the witch thing. Sorry. Oh, please.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Oh, no. Oh, God, please don't text me. Well, Marianne Williamson, of course, weighed in. So I did just want to share. Where's Marianne come down on this? She's obviously very, she knows about all this. She could explain all this to you in two seconds. But what she weighed in saying,
Starting point is 00:16:03 that's got to be some really drunk or stoned hashtag baby witches. If they think that in the midst of a hashtag secret police invasion of Portland, the best they can do is hex the moon. Oh, come on, Marianne. Bring it. So Marianne refocuses the discussion saying baby witches. She's saying basically what you're saying. There's so many like rightful hex targets at this time and yet we're out here hexing the moon irresponsible what is this what is what a
Starting point is 00:16:33 year huh which talk who next thing is like if there's like k-pop like k-pop armies versus baby witches i feel like is the next like if we're doing a 2020 bracket, I feel like, okay, so up next, if they get out of their bracket with Twitter witches and TikTok witches, they will face off against BTS Army. Trying to understand this really made me feel like a grandmother, and I feel really put in my place generationally. You never dabbled with the witchcraft ever? My mom was heavy into it when I was a kid,
Starting point is 00:17:04 and my uncle owned a shop but that's why you abstain now i have i have a yes well that's why i'm unhexable it's because i have a force of protection around me um so i'm just really fortunate in that way oh but you know so this moon hacks most likely may not affect me but to many, the moon hacks could really be disastrous. Oh, well, we shall wait and see. With bated breath and fingers crossed. Everything. Jamie, thank you for hanging out,
Starting point is 00:17:35 doing a little trendo. Let's hang out more later. All right. All right. For the rest of y'all, we'll see you tomorrow morning. And be feeling, you know what it is. Wash your hands.
Starting point is 00:17:46 Be careful out there. There is a pandemic. Try and help someone out if you can. Help yourself out. Be kind to yourself. Tell yourself something nice that will soothe you. And don't doom scroll. Stop doom scrolling.
Starting point is 00:17:57 If you're doom scrolling right now, listen. Stop doom scrolling. And for the love of God, don't hex the moon. If you do anything today, just don't hex the moon. If you do nothing, if you do anything today, just don't, don't hex the moon. And as this show has always said, hexing the fae is not the zeitgang way. Okay, and we will leave you with that. Peace and blessings. Good night.
