Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Tim Altrent.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Our boy, the tool man, in many, many ways. We'll talk about Tim Al in a little while up first obviously the main story who are you oh shit I'm Jack okay wait who are you again I thought I was Jack so this is kind of fucking me up alright hold on I know one of us is Jack one of us is Miles
Starting point is 00:02:00 I'm pretty sure I'm Jack I'm looking at my underwear I'm champion I'm champion I'm Jack sure I'm Jack I'm looking at my underwear I'm champion I'm champion I'm Jack that is champion and these are some things that are trending and then pivot into the heaviest shit yeah really heavy shit awful
Starting point is 00:02:16 three more mass shootings over the weekend yeah Monterey Park and then well Alhambra cause that man shot up a like Lunar New Year gathering at a dance studio. Apparently, this was stemming off of some kind of domestic violence thing. And in Louisiana, there were two mass shootings. It's wild, too.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Monterey Park, Alhambra, that's in LA. That's where the huge Asian community is. it's wild too like i you know monterey park alhambra that's that's in la that's like where that's where the huge asian community is and it's just so scary like when you read that news and just when the violence feels like it's just closer and closer or whatever then you just feel powerless it's just a very kind of uniquely american feeling uh that you get when you're like especially as i think about becoming a parent and i'm like shit that's something i would want to go to i'm asian that shit is like relevant i would go to that just like those kinds of things that you're it adds to this
Starting point is 00:03:15 like really fucked up sense of powerlessness when you're like what more does it take like how many more people just have to die for fucking for nothing? Yeah. Uh, to like really tighten up these laws. Yeah. Because the incentive structure is such that they're never gonna, they're never gonna fucking change it. It's the same thing with climate change. It's yeah. It's a really strange world to be a parent in for sure.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Have to like have overall faith in the ability to change things and like produce some positivity by yourself knowing what's right and like being able to communicate that 100 and i mean i think part of that too is unfortunately like from a young age i was already taught that like i'm operating in a losing game just racially and yeah so like when you compound those kinds of feelings with just even like stuff of like i can't even like how do you protect your family and shit ah it's very very gut-wrenching feeling and uh yeah just my thoughts are with all of these people who have been you know terribly affected by these mass shootings yeah all right uh thanks pfizer is trending uh a serious trend yeah yeah is it is it a serious trend no i mean i first when i saw it i was like oh are they
Starting point is 00:04:34 like making some kind of medication actually affordable right uh but it's everybody basically making fun of like an anti-vaxxer meme which is like a bullshit video where someone was like apparently they said they just got the the vaccine and they were like shaking like they were having leg tremors or something and everyone's like that's not a known side effect of it so now people are just hopping in on the trend with any old you know a bit of physical comedy somebody's legs doing something wild or twitchy or um yeah it like there are when you look up the trend there are the real anti-vaxxer tweets with like grim video of somebody in a hospital room or like somebody being like i can't stand up because thanks a lot pfizer but then there's so many good ones of that wild sex scene and showgirls, just like video glitches.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Yeah, white dudes break dancing really bad. Thanks, Pfizer. It's just getting really stupid. And I don't know what, because the video everyone's quote tweeting came from May of last year. So I'm sure for whatever, oh, that Taylor Swift video where she's quote unquote dancing. The one where somebody has a stack of cash in front of them and says, thanks, Pfizer. But they're actually using their shaking hand to spread through like a big pile of cash. Yeah, just a flux.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Other people are doing highlights from the Man United Arsenal game over the weekend. Love to see that. I love a bit of humor that makes David De Gea look like an utter trash goalkeeper. Anyway, so the internet's having a good time. The internet's having a good time. Reporting from the internet
Starting point is 00:06:15 appears that the internet is having a good time, Bob. Chris McGonigal. Yeah, dude. Charles. Old Chuck McGonigal. He's a. Charles. Old Chuck McGonigal. He's a former special agent in charge of the FBI's counterintelligence division in New York. He has just been indicted on charges that he helped the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska in violation of U.S. sanctions. And he was in that office until 2018.
Starting point is 00:06:46 So a lot of people were like, wow. Wait, why have I heard Oleg Deripaska's name before? Because he's a big, like he's always been this figurehead and like people saying he's like the nexus of like a lot of the Russian fuckery in the U.S. Got it. Wow. Yeah. So that's like, oh, you've been you've been taking payments from this person right uh what a place what a place turns out the cops are also dirty
Starting point is 00:07:16 huh wait the cops really yeah jack that's turns out turns out yeah so I mean who knows where the right goes with this or the left but I'm sure we'll have some interesting takes by the day's end alright we'll take a quick break we'll be right back
Starting point is 00:07:33 I'm Jess Casavetto executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series Dancing for the Devil the 7M TikTok cult and I'm Clea Gray former, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church.
Starting point is 00:07:52 And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and LA-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades. Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high control groups and interview dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine. Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling firsthand accounts, the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives. Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration. It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Gianna Pradente. And I'm Jemay Jackson-Gadsden. We're the hosts of Let's Talk Offline, a new podcast from LinkedIn News and iHeart Podcasts. When you're just starting out in your career, you have a lot of questions like, how do I speak up when I'm feeling overwhelmed? Or can I negotiate a higher salary if this is my first real job? Girl, yes. Each week, we answer your unfiltered work questions.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in experts who do, like resume specialist Morgan Saner. The only difference between the person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets the job is usually who applies. Yeah, I think a lot about that quote. What is it, like you miss 100% of the shots you never take? Yeah, rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting yourself.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Together, we'll share what it really takes to thrive in the early years of your career without sacrificing your sanity or sleep. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This summer, the nation watched as the Republican nominee for president was the target of two assassination attempts separated by two months. These events were mirrored nearly 50 years ago when President Gerald Ford faced two attempts on his life in less than three weeks.
Starting point is 00:09:59 President Gerald R. Ford came stunningly close to being the victim of an assassin today. And these are the only two times we know of that a woman has tried to assassinate a U.S. president. One was the protege of infamous cult leader Charles Manson. I always felt like Lynette was kind of his right-hand woman. The other, a middle-aged housewife working undercover for the FBI in a violent revolutionary underground. Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore. The story of one strange and violent summer. This is Rip Current.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Available now with new episodes every Thursday. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back and uh we have a av club article uh the top 50 disney movies of all times of all times and designed to piss people off you know just give me that 10 i haven't seen this list fire them off from 10 down. Alright. You want to go top 10? Yeah. Is that what you're thinking? Yeah. Alright. Number 10, Sleeping Beauty.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Okay. I don't think I've seen this. I don't have any opinion. As if I'm going to have an opinion on anything until I see what the 10 is. 9, The Incredibles. 8, Aladdin. 7, WALL-E. I would put that higher. I'd put that at number 1. Seven, WALL-E. I would put that higher. I'd put that at number one.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Six, The Lion King. Five, Mary Poppins. Four up. Three, The Little Mermaid. Two, Beauty and the Beast. One, Toy Story. Toy Story won. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:11:42 You know, it's funny. As I hear this, I i i actually just don't give a fuck about disney movies at all yeah i have an opinion on this but at first i was like where what they coming with and i'm like man i don't even see the incredibles i seen like why yeah i fuck with wally i think that one felt like the most like i don't know that one felt like some hard-hitting shit to me yeah yeah the yeah i don't i don't think i gave a fuck about disney movies and then like for a while it's like all you can watch with your kids and so it becomes not me we're watching david
Starting point is 00:12:16 cronenberg's naked lunch that's right as soon as my baby has proper eyesight just checking out all the body horror of dav Cronenberg. Yeah, they don't really fuck with the old one. Like Little Mermaid, I tried to put on for them when they were younger, and they were just like, yeah, this is so boring. I think I only fucked with Little Mermaid because Sebastian was like the first black character in a Disney movie I had encountered. Yeah, we didn't even make it that far. And he was a crab, but we knew he was from the islands. Yeah. Oh, he's a lobster. My bad. Brian corrected me.
Starting point is 00:12:48 Thank you for pulling my card. He's a lobster? I thought he was a crab. I don't know. Survey says he's a crab. Wow. So you're going to have to hold that L, Brian. Sorry. To the back with you. Tell you my other favorite Disney movie.
Starting point is 00:13:04 Didn't even make the list, Toy Story 4. They put all the first three Toy Stories on here. Is that the one with Sporky? The Spork one? I haven't even seen that one. Is that worth seeing? I mean, I like it, but I also like it in the context of it coming out when I have kids and them really enjoying
Starting point is 00:13:20 it. So, who the fuck knows? Dude, then Bryan just sent me a Little Mermaid fandom wiki that's like it says he's a lobster oh wow but disney says he's a crab i don't know i don't know whatever one says crab one says lobster look zeit gang settle this argument for us yeah um oath keepers is trending more and more of these oath keepers have been convicted of seditious conspiracy wow apparently they just like all got the idea at the same time yeah yeah nobody told them like the conspiracy right had to be an idea that someone probably seeded in their
Starting point is 00:13:57 head to do these seditious acts well now what if this person who was the person that encouraged i think they used inception or something because they haven't been able to find somebody who gave them this idea to do the seditious conspiracy jesus this is like we talk about this tomorrow with like the like brett kavanaugh documentary that came out we're like yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah we know that now go to the person who stood to benefit from this seditious conspiracy right do that part yeah uh but whatever then now they're all caught up in joe byron's sticky little document hands now and that's completely like cnn was like they ran something like oh number two democrat says joe
Starting point is 00:14:38 biden's lost the high ground on the documents like his document thing was worse than trump like at this point like i mean i'm sure that's what the right is saying but yeah i like that cnn's willing to repeat that yeah man they're like i said they love they love a good controversy now whatever they're trying to get some more fox viewers fair and balanced or um fair and balancered uh and then finally tim allen tim altrend yeah pamela anderson has a new biography claiming uh that he exposed himself to her on the set of home improvement yep now this is shocking to me because he's a conservative uh and a famous comedian and two famous coke addict two three groups of people that are known for never pulling
Starting point is 00:15:25 shenanigans like this yeah he said he's like oh i'd never i would have never done anything like that was apparently his response yeah i think might have actually been uh but it's like also that that's like one of those things where tim allen doesn't strike me as the most wholesome human being on the planet so file file that under, not shocked. Yeah. Yeah, we'll see. But I've seen multiple headlines about Pamela Anderson's new biography. That's like, now we finally get to hear the whole story.
Starting point is 00:15:54 So I'll be looking forward to reading summaries of that. Yeah. Anyways, did you ever watch the Santa Claus Chronicles? The Claus Chronicles? No, no, no. Once we started doing a dive into it and it became like a weird Trumpian allegory, I was like, come on now.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Get me out of here. Anyways, if anybody saw that, hit us up. Let us know what we missed. Those are some of the things that are trending on this Monday, January 23rd. We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then on this Monday, January 23rd. We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccine. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to you all tomorrow.
