despite Republicans best efforts, they got rinsed. Yep. Anywhere that it was a Trump candidate. Yeah. Who, uh, was in a,

you know, up for grabs. Sitch. Yeah. Didn't go, did not go well. No, it did not. Thankfully, candidate who was in a up for grabs sitch. Didn't go. Did not go well. No, it did not. Thankfully. We are all thankful for that and we can now move on and pray for a better tomorrow. Mills Lane, speaking of

moving on. We are moving on from the Mills Lane era. RIP to a real one. If you don't know, Judge Mills lane was the boxing judge for many of the great fights when boxing was a thing like late 80s early 90s um into the mid 90s uh and then i think came on came to national prominence when he was the boxing judge when Mike Tyson bit Evander Holyfield the top of his ear off. Yeah.

Wow. And then he parlayed that into like one of those daytime judge shows I believe. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Judge Mills and also as the judge on the ever popular claymation show celebrity death match

right as a super producer justin brought up yeah this would have been one that i think would have been deemed huh for our producers save for the fact that he did celebrity death Exactly. Otherwise. R.I.P. R.I.P. to the ledge. One of the great voices and heads and I don't want to say too much because I don't know anything about his politics. Fair. Fair. Fair.

The top ten lists are starting to come out. The popular culture. Some shorten it to pop culture. Not in this household. No. So, the top 10 year-end list, top 10 movies, top 10 TV shows,

even hell, top 10 albums of the year. And then video games, which I don't know anything about. You can go and let me know what you think of the top 10 list there. Because Metacritic,

what Metacritic does, Metacritic compiles them all and gives them a little ranking system so that you can see what the critical consensus is. I enjoy this. I enjoy when this happens. So let's just go through You Stop Me me where you have something

so on the on the movie side the number one movie is called after sun which i've heard a lot about never had it seemed like it broke through that much but um number two is tar which i have heard of and do plan to see but um and number three nope which i agree with nope is a movie that i really enjoyed when i saw it and has only grown in my memory like it's just there's so many cool images it just really hangs together has interesting things to say um and i love that it seems like that's true of a lot of critics um number four everything everywhere all at once which i think which hasn't like hung as much in my uh mind but i thoroughly enjoyed the hell out of it when i saw it one of the better theater going experiences that i had um and i think we're going to be hearing a lot about it come award season i

think they're going to try and make it the like crossover oscar winner that uh you know they like to have that you know movie people actually saw that yes that picture a real quick shout out to you in terms of the cultural impact of movies after you know a few years later i think you're you say like we should be doing the oscars for movies five years after they come out to see like what their actual cultural impact is i predict everything everywhere all at once has a repeat watch factor of like a comfort movie that people like to watch whether it's for it's it's like visual effects it's just like very touching family story for just you know for the humor of it if it's something that people just want to watch over and over because of

how, because of how rich it is and so many different qualities. So that's my prediction about everything everywhere. It is jam packed. Truly jam packed. Yes. Uh, I,

I'm surprised to see. So, uh, number five is Top Gun, which, uh, yeah, great.

A lot, a lot of fun. Uh, if you enjoy American propaganda, you really loved it. You know, you If you enjoy American propaganda, you really loved it. If you don't enjoy American propaganda, American military propaganda, you still probably enjoyed it. That was my experience. The one that's really thrown me for a loop is Elvis is on this list.

Elvis. Oh, it is. At number tied for 14th? Tied for 14th. did not see that one coming yeah that's a little weird it's a is it it's a real mess like that's a real mess tied with the northman which i feel like is much more uh critically acclaimed yeah i don't know i don't know about that i don't know about that someone put it as their first place movie and that's a that is a reach but anyway uh music you got your number one is beyonce i won't go all the way down rosalia's album motomami really great and is in there and then tv show better call saw severance is one that i saw that's at number two and the bear

which severance really enjoyed number three man i'm i'm my hot take is that i didn't enjoy the bear that much really that's fine it's just to me it's too caricature you're giving it a no chef i'm giving it a no chef it's just too caricature for me like i get you know there are plenty of people who say like it gave me you know ptsd about working in restaurants and like, totally, I get that. But just like, you know, the way that it constantly enforces the, by the way, if you didn't know this show set in Chicago was just like,

just really beating it over the head to the point where I was like, you need to calm down. Maybe you need to calm down. Maybe cousin. Maybe you need to calm down, bro. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, calm down maybe it's a cousin i don't know maybe you need to calm down bro yeah yeah uh my top movie or top tv show of the year is on here but you'll have to tune in to our year-end list to find out

what that is not one of the ones that i've named so far um but anyways did did you see the top 10 games uh no hold on let me let me let me scroll to it real quick oh they don't have it yet they don't have it yet interesting maybe does game do game reviewers not really do like year-end top 10 list i mean sometimes let me see sometimes but it's not like a a thing i mean i mean like i'll just i'll just say this the top the number one game of the year was undoubtedly Elden Ring. Elden Ring completely grasped the world and is, I mean, I think it would be, yeah. I can't see anybody choosing anything other than Elden Ring as the number one game of the year. I mean, there's a lot of good, God of War Ragnarok came out and that was really good. And Marvel Snap, maybe one of the most addicting mobile games I've ever played.

And with a not too predatory microtransaction system. I think Marvel Snap is an amazing game. Lots of good stuff came out this year, but Elden Ring is undoubtedly your number one. I am HO. And I hate that game. You don't like it. Interesting. Not my style, but it is the best game of the year.

Marvel Snap, how do you play that one? Sure, it's like a card game. So you have cards. Each card is a different character from the Marvel Universe. They have different little abilities. It's very similar to Hearthstone or to Gwent, if anybody's familiar with that. It was a minigame in the Witcher series.

But it's super easy. It's free. You play it on your phone. I think my favorite thing about Marvel Snap is that games take exactly one bathroom trip's length. So you're not sitting there for 20 minutes playing a game. It's literally three to four minutes and you're out. Super producer Brian is saying,

shout out Roller Drum, shout out Neon White, and shout out Midnight Fight Express. Wow. Neon White is such a slick call out from super producer Brian. see a trapper keeper and then it you know made all the money avatar too i was like well how is he gonna make us not believe in him before he proves us wrong on this one first of all it's like way more expensive than any movie ever made to the point that it needs to make billions to even break profit um it's also this is how this is how he got me on the really james side of things uh this motherfucker is 192 minutes long yeah that's really really long yes three hours 12 for all the people for all the for all the math heads out there yeah but like yeah three hours 12 for all the people for all the for all the math heads out there yeah but like yeah three hours 12 like i don't know that's that's three cassettes i feel like you know like that's that's a big one um yeah anyways uh the reason it's trending is because some

critics are seeing it and being like i'm not gonna break my uh you know the media blackout or whatever they have that um says you can't say anything but they all seem to be like it's good and it's like critics that i trust like david sims from blank check love him yeah it says it's really good um and like eyeball meltingly beautiful. And, um, the, the things that got me back,

first of all, the man has never missed, like he just doesn't miss the biggest miss of his career was the abyss and the abyss fucking owns. Um, and he says of the first avatar, like it didn't really look the way I wanted it to. Um, he shot like a bunch of the scenes from Avatar 2 underwater.

I don't know. I think it's going to be like his riff on like an underwater documentary, but like with his imagination instead of like actual animals. And that's something that I've been looking forward to seeing for a long time. So this will be cool i think time magazine times person of the year 2022 they came out gave us very predictable but like they didn't they didn't blow it or anything uh it's vladimir valence zolinski. I call him Volinsky just to shorten it because we're buddies. Yellow tight.

Pretty obvious. Yeah. But that's better than they do sometimes. So at least they didn't do like, you, the frontline workers. And like, shit, that's just like feel good pablum bullshit. You remember who it was last year was it joe biden elon last year it was elon musk 2021 person of the year elon musk wow i mean nailed aged like milk as it were

they got the zielinski one out on shelves after pulling back the kanye person of the year 2022 yeah i don't know um nothing really to say about this one it'll be the the time magazine persons of the year write-ups are i i like to read them and just like bask in the like skim milk just bullshit takes that they have just like the perfect threading middle ground idness of of this like it yeah it's like watching good morning america or something like that you just have this like really overpowering yankee candle scent of time magazine yeah you know yeah very specific flavor saccharine and kurt cameron trending because of a bad faith argument that fox news is making he's he's releasing what looks like a very shitty children's book.

Shocker. That is faith-based, but of course it's not faith-based in that it doesn't apply to all the faith equally, I'm sure, or at least not in his mind. And a bunch of public libraries have declined to allow him to appear and read it

and teach it to children. And Fox News was like, they, they, they're the ones who are discriminating because of the, you know, they're just so desperate to portray a world in which Christianity is persecuted.

Like, God, they really want that. They really, they really do. And it's, I mean, you know, it's and it's i mean you know it's it's trying to like get ammo for anti you know anti drag time story hour kind of like right

yeah like you know happenings and whatnot it's it's you know creating another narrative of like well we are really the oppressed class because of x y and z and you know if they can do it why can't we do it and because i you know honestly it appear if this is the tactic they're going for it almost feels like an admittance that they can't stop people from going to and enjoying and you know experiencing drag time story hour it's like all right fine well can't beat them join them yeah or not join them because you know fuck you yeah yeah and it's uh yeah if you hear this talking point like or if you hear the a quote that you see all over the place on the internet like if you really want to see who the ruler in any civilization is see who you can't criticize uh voltaire um as we talked about

that is actually a quote that is being misattributed to voltaire and is actually a quote by a neo-nazi so um just when you're you know racist uncle or whatever like pulls that out on you you can always you can always let them know that they're actually quoting a neo-nazi fun yeah because it turns out some people do need to be protected from hateful people who are part of a mainstream majority at a time of rising fascism. Please. Yeah.

Hey, speaking of a time of rising fascism, San Francisco has decided to pause their killer police robots. Yeah, pause them. Had to pause them killer police robots. Yeah. Pause. Had to pause them just for the, for the moment, literally for the moment while they work a few things out. But, um,

yeah, we talked about how this was in the works of, you know, the use of police robots to harm people to, and it was getting kind of sped through and approved in City Hall and unpopular for some reason. Against all odds.

Did you see that the Oakland police actually wanted the first thing they wanted was to have robots armed with shotguns? Shotguns? Shotguns. I mean, that's fine. You know, what's a little buckshot? What's a little buckshot?

My question with the whole robots thing, robots with explosives thing, is that like, I mean, obviously this is a big no. This is a big like, this is no. We can't even start walking down this path. But to me, my question is like, what were you, what's the intent? Because one of the quotes from the San Francisco police say they want the

ability to put explosives on robots and use them to contact incapacitate or disorient dangerous or armed suspects. So my question is like, maybe that's just clever, you know, police language when they say they want to kill people with robots. But if they're saying disorient incapacitate like does that mean they want a robot that like drops a flashbang is it like dropping a

smoke grenade am i just like litter bomb like what are we talking about here am i just like video game pilled and that i think that they would do anything other than just like throw a robot in there with a grenade on it and blow it up so that there's more shrapnel or something like that because i'm just like what what is what is the extent of explosive on robot here that's what i need to know before i can be precision explosives is not always like that that was the thing that america wanted to believe in during some of their you know invasions of other countries that like well this precision bomb can like land through a uh uh building window okay that's how precise it is and then it turns out the entire building yeah and they were also not that not as precise as they were but yeah i mean a robot that comes in and releases a a gas that knocks people actually that's also a terrible idea yeah no there's no good use of

robots yeah it's you're gonna fuck it up yeah anything it's all bad police basically any idea that the police come up with like is i'm going to be pretty skeptical. Yeah. Robots disarming bombs is one thing, but then putting the bomb on the robot. Right. What are we doing here? We already have them disarm the bombs. Why not have them arm the bombs and go up and give people hugs?

Yikes. Big yikes. The important part of this whole conversation, or not important part, but one of the main things about this conversation is one of the last sentences of the article. After the Tuesday vote, the Board of Supervisors, San Francisco Board of Supervisors, quote, sent the issue back to a committee for further discussion and could vote in the future to let police use robots in a lethal manner in limited cases. So really, this is just a public pushback situation to quiet everybody down

and be like, okay, okay, we're not going to do it now, but keep your ear to the ground because they will try and bring this back up again, whether it's in San Francisco or in different parts of the country, this fight is far from over.

So keep your ears open because we do not want robots doing the policing. In fact, I mean, we don't want, well, different discussion, but we don't want robots doing all this nonsense. Yeah, this is a
