Starting point is 00:02:00 25th on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. there uh probably okay i'm jack that's miles i don't know where i am at any given moment yeah i was gonna say we should explore that a little bit when you say probably uh so uh a few years back i went on a camper trip with my family around oregon uh and i don't remember much of it okay no i i just don't remember where we went got Got it. But I think we went to Trend, Oregon for sure. Oh, yeah. A lot of beer down there. Hell yeah, dude. That's right.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Or up air, rather. Up air. Up air now. Oregon's an interesting place. Very different from town to town. Say that again. But first, we're going to talk about what's trending. I don't know why again uh but first we're gonna talk about what's trending i don't know why i said but first i think i'm still in uh regular show mode oh that's embarrassing
Starting point is 00:03:14 i feel like an idiot uh miles yes ps5 is trending yeah because the are those just random numbers yeah i think public school five school five in new york city they are they are there something's going on no playstation five they've began to uh they've rolled out some of the specifics uh the specifications and hardware details of all right next console that hit me with some baby there is a holiday season it would be this holiday season uh is when it's going to come out but they're saying okay jack hold on to your butts now get ready for this i'm ready okay we're talking it's featuring a custom eight core amd zen 2 cpu clocked at 3.5 gigahertz variable frequency and a custom gpu based on amd's rdna2 architecture hardware that promises 10.28 teraflops and 36
Starting point is 00:04:15 compute units clocked at 2.23 gigahertz also variable frequency okay and it also does have 16 gigabytes of gddr6 ram and a custom 825 gigabyte solid state hard drive that sony has previously promised and will finally give us the super fast loading time did you say solid state that was the only thing i could remember for that i mean yeah look i couldn't even remember a single thing of the all the shit you were talking there i mean look if you're talking if you compare it to ps4 it's like blowing a lot of stuff out of the water like ps4 one gigabyte would load in 20 seconds now with ps5 2.5 or 2 gigabytes will load in 0.27 seconds okay so we're turning the heat up, babe. That's what I've been looking for.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Exactly. I've been waiting patiently for this. Thank you, PlayStation. Yeah. But I think they're also... Yeah, I don't know what any of that shit means. Well, there'll be, I think, potentially support for 8K gaming, which, wow, RIP my eyeballs and my wallet if the global recession doesn't destroy
Starting point is 00:05:28 that first um and 4k gaming at 120 hertz that's important also 3d audio for like very immersive sound but is so does 8k audio change no that's video that's video or 8k does 8k uh video change things that might like are the graphics so good that you need 8k as opposed to 4k i mean that's that's a that's a great debate people are having based on how how much you can get out of your screen what your eyes can do their time i mean i look at i look at full-blown 4k content like on display and i'm like yeah this is fine like i'm not like nothing will ever compare to when 1080 hd first started being broadcast on tv and i was like what the fuck is this this yeah when we get into like 4k i'm like damn that's crisp but never i mean i don't know if i want to see a movie like that
Starting point is 00:06:25 there's a certain levels of detail that you don't need so that's right yeah i mean it all depends you know i don't i but i'm sure you know 8k gang will come for me but at the at the moment i don't have 8k i need for yeah i'll never forget watching the movie i think it was secretariat uh on like it was too high def and you could like it just looked like you were watching people up close in like a high school production of a play because like right the makeup was not done to that level that it just looked so weird you could like see the the wigs you could it almost felt like have you ever like gotten too high and watched a movie and you're like this is all fake everything's so fake i mean i was with you up until that part i have gotten too high when i watched a movie but my next thought wasn't
Starting point is 00:07:18 this is all fake dude it's also fake man uh that's man this ain't real that ain't the real secretariat that's just a actor horse yeah that's just an actor in a bunch of horse makeup uh amanda amanda binds uh is pangrant uh pregnant pregnant pregnant which is news pangrant yeah yeah wait she is or isn't I thought they deleted a pregnancy announcement from social media oh wow somebody's gonna have to talk to Jamie Loftus she just sent it to our group thread
Starting point is 00:07:56 she said she's pregnant but then it was deleted it says baby in the making but then her fiance Paul Michael deleted their posts uh-huh i don't know okay i don't i don't care about you know you're up you're down you're up you're down right now nothing that's right we're never on solid ground right now uh kung flu is trending because that is a racist thing that people are calling coronavirus yeah even in the
Starting point is 00:08:27 white house people in the fucking white house are saying yes white house aid said that shit and i mean i think i feel like people asian american people are already feeling like self-conscious and like you know people are already saying racist shit to them and with the endorsement of the president it's gonna get even worse so i don't know yeah call your friends uh ask them how they're doing uh who are dealing with this shit uh i i don't know what else to do it's a very helpless feeling yeah um utah earthquake is trending um because there was a five point something 5.7 5.7 magnitude earthquake uh that's a big one yeah that that's that's nothing to to laugh about so it's the largest 1992, knocked out a bunch of power. So adding this on top of a global pandemic is really bad. So all Utah's, I know there's a group of y'all out there. I hope you're
Starting point is 00:09:37 doing okay. I hope even with the power off and the chaos around you, that you find some safety, some peace throughout this too. Seriously. And Defense Production Act is trending. So this is something the White House is invoking to basically get medical equipment up in production as fast as possible, but it's not too specific about how they're going to accomplish that. Yeah, we just know right now we're operating in a situation where clearly everyone's saying we don't have enough hospital beds, we need more protective equipment, we need
Starting point is 00:10:18 more ventilators, we need more of this, you know, a lot of this stuff very quickly because the projections for when a lot of the cases are going to really hit are coming fairly soon. So through this, I mean, it's usually used during like, you know, wartime, like they've done it, they've done it a lot in the past, but like, I think the first time may have been the Korean war. I don't want to fully say that with authority, but I believe it was during the Korean war, but essentially it's made to facilitate, like just to ensure that businesses cooperate with the government to make the things that they need, because it's no longer about like what the business needs. It's about what the company, what the country needs and what our emergency needs are. So like one of the first
Starting point is 00:11:00 parts of it, companies basically have to, they're like required to accept and like prioritize any kind of contracts they get from the government and to prioritize any of those services, materials, whatever they have that will, you know, help whatever the national effort is. And then another provision is about providing financial measures like loans and loan guarantees to make sure that materials are produced so they can actually get everything moving quickly um so it's really just about doing as much as possible to accelerate the manufacturing of of these like very very needed very essential items because we are not prepared and the administration you know did as everything they could almost to make this as difficult as possible now based on all the cuts they made so yeah that's the new reality we're dealing with i mean you know
Starting point is 00:11:49 the one benefit i feel like americans are good at is doing their homework at the last minute so maybe we can pull it off just somehow by the skin of our teeth but we will see um but it's definitely something that everyone needs to kind of be aware of which is why you know all of the self-quarantining and social distancing stuff is so important because it's not it's not just about how sick you can get or the impact to your social life it's the impact to people who are immunocompromised who have underlying health conditions things like that and if they are sick and they have to face a reality where they go to a hospital that cannot see them that is what we call completely fucked up and horrific yeah uh people in the zeitgang reddit thread were talking about just you know people seeing people who are just terrible it's
Starting point is 00:12:38 so terrible about social distancing and standing too close to one another and just not really uh getting it you know people who for their job are working in grocery stores and you know people are just lining up like it's any any other ordinary day uh all right well stay safe out there guys uh you know yeah do your part to uh try and slow slow the spread down uh and you know take care of each other take care of yourselves uh let us know in the reddit thread if there are good ways you've come up with to help one another out to help your community out uh also let us know what was the other thing we asked for in the activities maybe also let us know any activities anything you're binging uh and oh yeah and also any good place to go for
Starting point is 00:13:34 news uh that's the other thing that just the news is fucking terrible at their job right now um all right uh or at least some of the news is terrible at their job. All right. That's going to do it for this afternoon. We will be back tomorrow with another episode of the podcast. We'll talk to you then. Bye. Bye.
