Listen to Forgive Me for I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Gianna Pradenti. And I'm Jemay Jackson-Gadsden. We're the hosts of Let's Talk Offline from LinkedIn News and iHeart Podcasts. There's a lot to figure out when you're just
Starting point is 00:00:39 starting your career. That's where we come in. Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in people who do, like negotiation expert Maury Tahiripour. If you start thinking about negotiations as just a conversation, then I think it sort of eases us a little bit. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry. Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese. Every great player needs a foil. I know I'll go down in history. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game. Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports. Listen to the making of a rivalry. Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese on the iHeart on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you
Starting point is 00:01:25 get your podcast presented by capital one founding partner of iheart women's sports hello the internet and welcome to this episode of trendon booker aka strength curry aka k t d z anthony trend words joelle trend bead, Zay trees, Halliburton, uh, or Tyrese Hallibur trend. Um, he gets to,
Starting point is 00:01:51 uh, those are all courtesy of Johnny Davis. Um, also Eric Zite, Johnny Davis, AKA short show title spice, SST spice. Those are all of course,
Starting point is 00:02:03 USA, uh, five on five us men's Olympic basketball team, which kicks off, SST Spice. Those are all, of course, USA 5-on-5 U.S. men's Olympic basketball team, which kicks off in a matter of days. The Olympics, I guess they had their first event
Starting point is 00:02:15 happening earlier today, and there was a soccer match where they had to cancel it between Morocco and Argentina. Why? Because there was too much shit on the field? Yeah, there's too much shit on me. There's too much shit everywhere. There's too much shit on me.
Starting point is 00:02:31 It's unsafe to play on. I guess Morocco was up 2-1. There was a goal that was under review, and then all hell broke loose, and then they had to suspend it, and then the goal was ruled um not a real goal and then they won morocco won beat argentina which big surprise big upset kicking off the olympics um oh boy and i mean the uh the uh yeah argentinians already have been saying a lot about African people since they won the Copa America.
Starting point is 00:03:07 So, yeah. Not Argentinians. It caused a whole controversy. After the Argentina national team won the Copa America, some of the players were singing this fucking racist chant about how all the French national team players are actually from Angola or Cameroonian. And it's all casting aspersions on their Frenchness and what friends like, it's really fucked up. And what does that have to do with?
Starting point is 00:03:31 Wow. Oh, the world cup when it was the Copa America. But I, you know, this also happened when Columbia, huh? Didn't they beat Columbia in the Copa America?
Starting point is 00:03:42 Yeah, they did. Right. Um, but anyway, like it, cause they were like, yeah, we're going to be racist anyway. Yeah, you know, don't look...
Starting point is 00:03:48 Which is also funny because Argentina has a very, very clear history with their anti-blackness and anti-indigenous campaigns. Especially erasing... Yeah, because their whole thing is like, they like to say, we came over on boats. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:03 That's what the narrow Argentine identity is but anyway i was like oh no now it's kicking off again different players but hey um the olympics baby yeah the olympics baby when's the first open water swim thing i want to see open mouth swimming yeah open mouth swimming we don't know i don't know what i'm asking is if you haven't in cycle like jack tell me now yeah i actually don't know but um i i generally get sucked into the olympics as just it's like the ultimate background television like i just turn the when the olympics start i turn the tv on and it stays on and it's just happening in the background and marathon swimming starts the 26th okay friday there we go it's coming up that's mainly i just want to see those people eat
Starting point is 00:04:54 shit literally really that's what i'm just what if they just had a channel dedicated to only that just people swimming in foul oh be shitted just bodies of water yeah the gross swimming gym brown water open mouth swimming anyways uh water speaking of open water and you know a type of white supremacy we always hear about the white whale moby dick what about some other types of whales that aren't uh you know that are just as likely to capsize your little boat um so a breaching whale capsized a boat uh in a video that's gone viral whales are so viral right now they're hot right now yeah it just made a whole ass fishing boat look so teeny tiny i i encourage listeners to look for whale cap size boat new
Starting point is 00:05:47 hampshire that's what you'll search for and it'll show up but we'll just play you the audio so you can hear like just this big ass whale just like just body slamming this tiny little fishing boat oh yeah tipped it up two people are out the boat. This dude in the Dayton hoodie is like, Oh, I'm off this. Shout out to Dayton university of Dayton hoodie. Skivity Dayton dude. Skivity Dayton.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Yeah. That's a fully cap. The first person goes absolutely flying. Um, it does look like the whale had seen jaws because it seems like it's doing the thing. The shark does at the end of jawsaws when it eats Quint. Spoiler alert. It's like kind of doing
Starting point is 00:06:28 a belly flop onto the back of the boat. And then it's like, oh shit, I'm way too big for this. And yeah. So it knocks the boat over on its side. One person seems to be catapulted into the air. It is
Starting point is 00:06:44 one of my favorite videos but they no one was seriously no and that's why miles because i wouldn't like something if something if somebody got hurt but they uh everybody was okay the dayton guy like if you see the version of the video that is going viral um the person in the foreground who's on the boat taking the video turns around wearing a dayton hoodie so we know he's good peoples uh and then immediately appears to like start moving away from where where the whale just excites the boat i hate to say this but that kid is a descendant of the people that harassed your family in date his dad put the for sale signs in my front yard and that's all right be careful handing out those those plots date and compliments um
Starting point is 00:07:33 but yeah he turns around immediately starts steering the boat and the boat is moving away uh but that's probably it turns out he actually was circling back to help them and you just yeah you don't want to back into people who are in the water in a boat because that's where the choppy thing is yeah choppy thing first coming at you yeah um but anyways uh great video there's there's some there's an old video of like a diver getting out of the water and then the water like starts boiling yeah like it's like what the fuck is going on and you realize it's fish coming to the surface because a whale is just behind them scooping them up yeah and it just like fucking swallows a like quarter square mile
Starting point is 00:08:18 of ocean it's like one of those feelings i remember like seeing like a school of fish you know like when you first understand the concept of a school of fish i'm like i wonder if you could just fucking grab them all yeah that video is like yeah dude if your mouth is the size of a school bus yeah yeah it turns out you can yeah you can yeah and there there's another story from i don't know if it was new hampshire but at same part like new england where a fisherman claims he was swallowed by a breaching whale uh accidentally that like took him to the bottom of the ocean and then like coughed him up and he came to the surface but that we don't have any video graphic evidence of that and a lot of people after the fact i think it might have been in provincetown actually yeah
Starting point is 00:09:04 yeah yeah a lot of people after that were like that it might have been in provincetown actually yeah well yeah yeah yeah a lot of people after that were like that guy's full of shit i think we talked about that yeah yeah 2021 yeah yeah it was like a lobster guy like a lobster diver yeah i'm so at one with the lobster that i even got eaten like one um but uh, love some good whale content and it does, uh, as Brian, the editor pointed out, it does continue or no, I think you pointed out, it does continue the trend that the whales are turning on the boats. Yeah. But I think when we, what we arrived at is that they're like, they're just fucking around.
Starting point is 00:09:39 They're playing. Yeah. Yeah. Like they're bored. That was what we arrived at with the orcas. And this would continue to yeah indicate that it looks like they're just fucking around it's it i've never seen a boat look more like a pool toy it's very like lenny from of mice and men but the rather
Starting point is 00:09:57 than a rabbit it's a boat right you know it's like i just wanted to play with the boat george i just wanted to hug the boat crushed it whoops yeah all right uh we have some new evidence in uh as to how the gop is going to uh go about attacking kamala new confirmation of what our just the momentum of history has shown us which is racist woman hating talking points yeah it turns out we're here the misogynistic racist shit show has arrived um and especially now that it's pretty clear that call kamala is a presumptive nominee they're doing anything to damage her credibility so in the house republicans have our fucking filed articles of impeachment against her why because the border okay because she lied to us about how bad joe byron's condition was uh then there's this is among a half dozen other bills that have been introduced that are like either calling for impeachment like censure
Starting point is 00:10:59 or like to her for her to be quote condemned um or to be like she needs to invoke the 25th amendment to remove biden with a cabinet vote it's like y'all like this this doesn't solve your issue but okay try it because you don't have the votes either so this is all ceremonial fantasy nonsense um they also accused her about like you know potentially being in a plot like the bite the administration was behind a plot to to have trump shot um which is also you know they're trying um and on fox business they're even trying to like meld viral memes with racist vitriol um so let's let's check this terrible fucking comment out from this guy alec lace on fucking fox business wow yeah and then there's the dei press secretary telling you that the dei vice
Starting point is 00:11:46 president is the future of the party here and so the future looks kind of dim for the democrats here but this is no shocker either camilla harris she's the original hawk to a girl that's the way she got where she is and uh the party's going downhill if it's in her hands that was tough that was that was that was harsh that was that was tough that was harsh they're like smiling year to year as he says that like one guy looked at camry's like for real dude like of all the things you're saying that she was just do exchanging sexual favors yeah sure jesus again because she is a woman and this guy is wearing a vest on and an american tie flag american flag tie um so the vest is such a specific look i was trying to think like what what is it like an old-timey bartender or an
Starting point is 00:12:32 old-timey barber or something like what i know he's missing the garter on his arm yeah fully set that like like the fucking weird creepy skeleton home depot yeah he does look like the yeah hipster Home Depot skeleton. He looks like he could work at the little tavern from Deadwood, basically. Yeah, he would be behind the bar at The Shining. I saw you point it out.
Starting point is 00:12:55 He's like a dad podcast? Yeah, this guy's brand... He's a dad blogger with 20,000 followers on Twitter. So, you know, would love to have him talk to my kids about what it means to, you know, be a kind human being. What a cool dad blogger. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Just drag women through the mud. And that's how you show love? I don't know. Like, why do you even have a dad blogger on fox business like what it would i guess they just like have somebody who's like all right this guy doesn't have much of a profile he kind of sucks so we can just like get him on there saying the wildest shit possible yeah i'm sure it's just like what other wild shit can you say please uh anyway so one wild shit please one oh another okay i'm gonna have to cut you off after this uh ben shapiro is saying that this is some
Starting point is 00:13:52 kind of popularity conspiracy only second to taylor swift this is my favorite right wing conspiracy exactly there's there's something going on here so let me allow us to like no way all these people like them i'm just gonna let Ben Shapiro say it in his own words. What exactly do her qualifications look like other than, again, the sort of intersectional magic of Kamala Harris and the fact that Democrats have to manufacture enthusiasm for... I've never seen this much manufactured enthusiasm for anyone outside of maybe Taylor Swift's last album.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Me neither. Jesse, tell them. Me neither. It's so obvious. Come up with an idea you cringe when you see it but yeah okay what is so obvious that what do they think is happening how does a woman get and come out yeah exactly how unless it's a fucking absolute nailed on 100 000 percent fucking conspiracy theory or some kind of other shit and ben no like ben shapiro put he did the experiment like he so he's always had this theory they're like no no way these people actually like this shit like there's
Starting point is 00:15:01 no way there's not enough people that would like pay for this uh look at my youtube numbers i'm the only one who's popular uh and i'm gonna you know i'm on one so i'm gonna actually put out my own movies and show you how much more popular those would be and he did that and they are some of the least successful movies ever like of all time yeah his movies out based on this theory that nobody could like all that shit that they are spending money on and claiming to like and then he was like oh yeah you think that is actually what people like well check this one out and fell on his fucking face yeah uh now watch me launch my own rocket into the air to show you the earth is flat okay okay but yeah i mean just to compare though taylor swift and kamala harris right when taylor
Starting point is 00:15:53 swift posted on national voter registration day about 35 000 new voters registered and the two days since harris was announced 38 500 new voters signed up so maybe there is something similar uh but i i just don't know it's impossible it can't be the fact that people are so deflated over the fact they're seeing an elderly man who is basically a fucking skell be up there be on the campaign trail and then the second he drops out and they go in for someone who's younger and has more energy to communicate a message that that somehow is going to create enthusiasm no i don't buy it i don't i don't buy it um it we i feel like i'm seeing something we've seen for years with trump where like non-mega people are unable to see the appeal of donald trump and so when he does the shit that makes that offends like liberals and you know everyone you know when he's racist when he's sexist um the
Starting point is 00:16:46 things that we think are disqualifying it is those are the very things that make them like him and so we'll see him do something we'll be like oh my god point at it like look he did the thing and then we'll see his popularity go up with the people who support him because the cruelty is the point with him and i feel like we're seeing the reverse of that like or it's basically the same dynamic but they can't make sense of people seeing kamala harris and not being like weirded out and so they're due to their racism and misogyny you keep hearing them say like the more i see her the more i feel like you know people are gonna hate this person right she's not serious she can't be taken seriously it's like no your brain doesn't allow you to
Starting point is 00:17:40 take her seriously right i feel like we'll continue to see that though like they that they think that all these things are disqualifying and a lot in a lot of cases those are the things that make people think the fact that she's cool and impressed the fact that she is biracial indian black and a woman should be completely disqualifying and so i don't understand what's going on trump's speech yesterday was like talking about how, uh, I don't, I don't think this is the same,
Starting point is 00:18:08 but it was just interesting. Like the kind of how they can't quite make sense of this. He's like, she's not going to be your first woman president. She's not Kamala Harris. No way. She's a socialist folks. She's a,
Starting point is 00:18:22 like, he like basically like walked backwards into a campaign ad for her. Like, if I could design one that would, like, make me be like, yeah, this person's unimpeachable. Like, that's what, he's like, first woman president and a socialist. I'm like, fuck, man. Wow. Sign me up. But, like, they can't see it.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Yeah, unfortunately. Yeah, she would But like they can't see it. Yeah. Unfortunately. She would never even claim to be a socialist. Yeah. It's hard times over there. It's very much hard times. But yeah, they're not going to stop. They aren't going to stop. And I think, I mean, according to
Starting point is 00:18:59 the campaign, there's like there, they say that it's measurable. Not aside from just like the 126 million that was raised since sunday up until like maybe end of tuesday um but they're also saying that like nearly 2 000 people had applied for jobs like once the announcement happened to work on the campaign and they've gotten a hundred thousand more people signed up to volunteer um that and if that's true that shows enthusiasm but i don't think it's manufactured i think he really take this discounts the fact about how dire or how destitute people felt about uh the biden
Starting point is 00:19:34 the biden option and again who knows if this translates to a win because i'm still sort of like will everyone vote for a black woman yeah is that possible uh and what are and what's the platform still many questions to be answered otherwise unless unless you're trying to be like it's basically the biden campaign but just switch her out and then kind of distance her from net and yahoo and maybe we can kind of squeak one by yeah um you know who else seems relieved and energized joe biden he seems like he's like oh folks i'm not gonna lie man i should have dropped out i should have dropped out that's on me that's on me that's on me um all right let's take a quick break we'll be right back i'm jess casaveto executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult.
Starting point is 00:20:27 And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Starting point is 00:22:44 She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything?
Starting point is 00:22:59 You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing they're just dreams dream sequence is a new horror thriller from blumhouse television iheart radio and realm listen to dream sequence on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. We're back.
Starting point is 00:23:34 And Netanyahu was on Capitol Hill speaking to Congress, giving just a fucking terrible speech called the protesters outside Iran's useful idiots. A lot of Democrats boycotted. Kamala backed out due to a scheduling conflict, which she just backed out straight up. But a lot, like hundreds of interns, all in a, I think, collective action called in sick today right to protest yeah a lot
Starting point is 00:24:07 of people yeah don't obviously like the the trend is moving against this which is which is a good thing but yeah like i think even with kamala i know she she was meeting with uh like one of the black sororities which was like okay we're starting to see like some focus into who she's really trying to speak with and engage uh but also it that she's going to be meeting apparently with netanyahu at some point in a closed door meeting then who knows what's going to be discussed but it's not totally out of the woods but along with that story our unions are trending because um some very big unions that represent 6 million people. This is the Association of Flight Attendants, the American Postal Workers Union,
Starting point is 00:24:50 the International Union of Painters, the National Education Association, the SEIU, United Auto Workers, and United Electrical Workers signed a letter urging an end to the military aid military aid to to israel and for advocating a ceasefire it's uh the signatories wrote in this letter quote the time to act decisively to end this war is now stopping u.s military aid to israel is the quickest and most sure way to do so it is what u.s law demands and it will show your commitment to securing a lasting peace in the region recent reports only underscore the urgency of our demands large numbers of palestinian civilians many of So, yeah. And then there's also plenty of a lot of protests happening um with the visit of
Starting point is 00:25:46 netanyahu in dc so yeah i mean will will the candidate begin to see what everyone is asking for and maybe begin to shift policy that way um but again tbd tbd yeah there is even there is a uh doctor on cbs i believe this weekend on one of the like sunday morning shows who was talking about just the absolute brutality that israeli force they're showing to gaza children like it it feels like it's getting not not that it's been a secret, but like the, you know, talked about, yeah, I, I think it's just, or I think it's just sort of the fear of reprisals from groups like the ADL and things like that, that were felt like were really controlling, like the way these conversations were being had, especially on like mass media.
Starting point is 00:26:40 Yeah. Um, but again, I, it, it, I think most people, people I mean if you look at like how people are poll like how it's polling a little bit significant a majority people want in a ceasefire and yeah just just deliver on that would be would be a tremendous effort and something I think many Americans want yeah this just this doctor I just want to read a quote from him dr mark perlmutter an orthopedic surgeon from north carolina vice president of the international college of surgeons volunteered in gaza from the end of april through the first half of may
Starting point is 00:27:13 asked to describe what he witnessed in gaza he replied all the disasters i've seen combined 40 mission trips 30 years ground zero earthquakes of that combined doesn't equal the level of carnage that I saw against civilians in just my first week in Gaza. So, yeah. And he goes on to talk about toddlers being targeted. Again, I don't know how, like, I mean, I know a lot of people, not a lot of people, but there are people who are sort of indifferent to what's happening there, like, try and avoid at all costs, like, actually reading accounts of it. But the other day i saw a this fucking broke me man
Starting point is 00:27:49 this kid was holding the shoes of his father who had just been killed yeah and the pain on this child's face and knowing that all he was left with was the shoes of his father it i don't know again i mean clearly when you're at the heights of power clearly in a presidential administration some people are able to compartmentalize but i think it's also tremendously brave for a lot of people who have left the cabinet too or the administration like just sort of in protest and a lot of them now are you know hoping to see if maybe there's a shift now on policy here but yeah it's it's, it's, I don't think any person with, you know,
Starting point is 00:28:27 true skills of, of, of having, you know, the ability to empathize could look at that and not think like this has to fucking stop immediately. Like, what are we doing?
Starting point is 00:28:35 Yeah. Yeah. Um, all right. Those are some of the things that are trending on this Wednesday afternoon. We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccines. Get your flu shots. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Bye. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult.
