You might recognize us from our first show, Locatora Radio. Listen to Señora Sex Ed on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Oh, hello, Internet. your podcasts oh hello internet and if you're hearing my voice that means it's time for the trending episode aka this episode or this edition of uh trendro chronologist um i'm miles i'm joined by super producer anna hosnia hello anna how are you hi there she is she's she's full up on her mickey juice and we're here to tell you what is trending today on god's green earth or whatever you call this thing this flat
Starting point is 00:02:33 disc spinning through the sky first up we got wu-tang album is trending because i don't know if you remember uh martin shkreli that hedge fund fucking goon who like upped the price on pharmaceuticals to like just make himself a very wealthy person overnight he bought like a one of one copy of a wu-tang album that was not released and it was like over two million dollars and people were like what the fuck is going on with this he had to sell it today or not he had to sell the government stray seized it from him as part of the um uh part you know just the the lawsuit that he lost um against you know for all of his financial nonsense and then they auctioned it and it got over two million dollars and it went to a mystery buyer so and how are you did you do you know do you know who bought it was it you wait wait so who
Starting point is 00:03:22 where does that money go to pay for his like yeah like the damages basically that oh damages yeah so they're like okay well can he was sort of like i don't have any money though and they're like well you have a two million dollar wu-tang album so we'll take that and we'll you know liquidate that um but yeah i think he some like 7.4 million or something that he owes i imagine it's some like white geriatric millennial who made money in like the tech game and loves hip-hop and loves the sneaker game and sometimes says problematic shit to his people of color friends that's why i imagine about it but then points to the fact that he can he knows every wu-tang lyric to be like well dude i'm not racist bro like if i was racist i wouldn't knows every Wu-Tang lyric to be like, well, dude, I'm not racist, bro.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Like if I was racist, I wouldn't like Wu-Tang. I'm pretty sure that's how racism works. Yeah. I don't know. And we know, we all know a guy like that. It's just really holding on to how rich and cool he is because his interests are so hip. And you're like, man, go fuck yourself.
Starting point is 00:04:23 What, is Jeff Bezos? Or Bill Gates? Well, if I ever saw Jeff Bezosos wearing jordans i'd be like that checks out if i saw him where i'm wondering if jeff bezos's brand is so like what it would do if he just started rocking jordans if he could slowly devalue jordans by wearing them all the time where people go oh definitely jeff bezos wears those bros definitely that would be interesting interesting experiment for those out there or who could be i mean because mark walberg is already an interesting jordan follower he has his own like they've made custom jordans for him to add the jordan brand but i also just look at the way he wears his pants with it i'm like damn they almost don't even look like cool shoes like that. It is what it is.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Bob Odenkirk is also trending. Because what happened? He collapsed or something? Yeah, he collapsed on the set of Better Call Saul. And they had to rush him to the hospital. But we don't have any more information other than that. I mean, I'm sure he'll get through it. I don't know exactly what happened
Starting point is 00:05:25 yeah hoping for the best for old bob i hope uh he's doing okay because the last time i saw him he was making me laugh in that tim robinson show um he's got you know what he's got he's got all those cars yes i think it's ashley ray or somebody was tweeting it's like don't worry about bob odin kirk dude he's got a beautiful wife he doesn't live in a hotel he's got doubles of the nova like he'll be okay but i hope that he he actually is uh fine i remember from that bit was his tinted glass and then he was just had all those cars that's all i remember yeah he has all those cars doubles of the barracuda okay actually i got triples actually yeah yeah i got triples now and i don't live in a hotel and he doesn't live in a hotel um next up yeah no no for sure you you don't um moron mccarthy is trending
Starting point is 00:06:20 because nancy pelosi you know there's a new mask mandate in Congress. You know, they're saying we have the Delta variant coming through here. We need to be really careful. We've had a number of members test positive and we have to bring masks in because we're dealing with groups of people who are not vaccinated in this building plus variants. So we need to wear masks to protect everyone i mean honestly if there's a pandemic still happening you should still be wearing a mask anyway um so because of that obviously the gop members threw a fucking fit and was doing stuff like not wearing their masks to be cheeky and make their point that they believe that they know more about science because because
Starting point is 00:07:06 immune system and even system well you know that's that's the battle cry and kevin mccarthy the minority leader he was like oh this is so dumb like we should you know i just had all this criticism of it despite again people losing their lives because we were still in a pandemic and nancy pelosi again this is there's some pushback some people don't know if she actually said this but apparently when she was getting in her suv to be whisked away to some ice cream party or wherever she goes after work they were like oh what do you think of kevin mccarthy all this spice he's talking and she said he's such a moron and then hopped in the whip and scared it out of there.
Starting point is 00:07:46 So that's trending. I would believe she said it because she seems like the type to just try and get a little quick one in and then be like, ooh, no one knows if I really said it. That seems up her alley to be like, I never said that. But then now it's just turned into like a lot of people just being like yeah and he's also like a bad guy he's also a moron and this is like one of those tired ass trends you see um but yes that's that's them now and that's where they are okay let's take a quick break and we'll be right with some more trains. You said well. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life.
Starting point is 00:08:34 It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session. 24 hours. BPM 110. One session, 24 hours. BPM 110, 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up?
Starting point is 00:08:51 Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people.
Starting point is 00:09:12 There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Amber and Lacey, Lacey and Amber Show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network. You thought you had fun last season? Well, you were right. And you should tune in today for new fun segments like Sister Court and listening to Lacey's steamy DMs. We've got new and exciting guests like Michael Beach.
Starting point is 00:09:55 That's my husband. Daphne Spring. Daniel Thrasher. Peppermint. Morgan J. And more. You got to watch us. No, you mean you have to listen to us.
Starting point is 00:10:06 I mean, you can still watch us, but you gotta listen. Like, if you're watching us, you have to tell us. Like, if you're out the window, you have to say, hey, I'm watching you outside of the window. Just, you know what? Listen to the Amber and Lacey, Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:10:21 or wherever you get your podcasts. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This podcast is an intergenerational conversation between Latinas from Gen X to Gen Z. We're covering everything from body image to representation in film and television. We even interview iconic Latinas like Puerto Rican actress Ana Ortiz. I felt in control of my own physical body and my own self. I was on birth control. I had sort of had my first sexual experience. If you're in your Senora era or know someone who is, then this is the show for you. We're your host, Diosa and Mala, and you might recognize us from our flagship podcast, Locatora Radio.
Starting point is 00:11:17 We're so excited for you to hear our brand new podcast, Senora Sex Ed. Listen to Senora Sex Ed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Do you ever wonder where your favorite foods come from? Like what's the history behind bacon-wrapped hot dogs? Hi, I'm Eva Longoria. Hi, I'm Maite Gomez-Rejon. Our podcast,
Starting point is 00:11:38 Hungry for History, is back. Season two. Season two. Are we recording? Are we good? Oh, we push record, right? Okay. And this season, we're taking an even bigger bite out of the most delicious food and its history. Saying that the most popular cocktail is the margarita,
Starting point is 00:11:55 followed by the mojito from Cuba, and the piña colada from Puerto Rico. So all of these... We have, we think, Latin culture. There's a mention of blood sausage in Homer's Odyssey that dates back to the ninth century B.C. B.C.? I didn't realize how old the hot dog was. Listen to Hungry for History as part of the My Cultura podcast network.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. Arthur is trending. Why? Because after, what, 25 years on the set, he is now being canceled for some shit he said no I mean not yeah I said on the set
Starting point is 00:12:46 he's being cancelled and not the cool kind though the original kind of cancellation where a network says no more money for you goodbye and yeah PBS is done I have a theory yes this is all now
Starting point is 00:13:03 this is this is Anna's q anon corner and i believe i believe that because we canceled chrissy tegan john legend has decided to take arthur away from us because you guys remember down there go down this hole with us why everyone was constantly trolling john legend with the arthur fist and saying he looked like Arthur. And every time he'd get mad about being called, you know, Arthur, they would always post the fist to be like, look how mad he is. Just like Arthur. So once we canceled Chrissy, he decided that he was going to take away our beloved author. So I believe he is behind this.
Starting point is 00:13:42 I mean, this makes sense. I'm looking at an article from Elle.com um e-l-l-e so you know it's legit uh from uh 2018 the year of our lord 2018 where it says the headline chrissy tegan pushed john legend over his limit with these trolling arthur memes now there's you know when you look at it again chrissy tegan she loves to fuck with people on the internet sometimes in terrible ways and sometimes in ways where you just you know your husband is hates being compared to arthur and you say fuck it i'm going in on these memes uh yeah she kept going commenting on stuff uh comparing him to arthur and then at a certain point um like john mayer was hopping in talking
Starting point is 00:14:26 shit about john legend and then at a certain point he comes in the the comments of this post and says enough is enough okay all right i'm sorry i we didn't know and the original post is her daughter christy tegan's daughter holding a arthur doll and I believe Chrissy Teigen wrote Luna and Daddy or something like that. Yeah it was yeah that's funny she said then later on she said in that post she said this is my childhood Arthur doll my mom has kept it all this time maybe I've been attracted to Arthur my whole life and now I found my real life human one then like vet nicole brown is like tagging john legend with like the crying emoji and then he just posted after that comment he just posted wow and then she kept going and i say hey hey what a wonderful kind of day where we can learn to laugh and play and get along with each
Starting point is 00:15:21 other you've got to listen to your heart listen to the beat listen to the rhythm the rhythm of the street and again it's having to do with john legend so again you know maybe i i think there is some some uh truth maybe to john legend at least we'll see if he does something with pbs i would look at the deal and figure out what's going on there he said enough is enough unless you can get that money flowing yeah do you did you watch arthur growing up oh yeah you should watch before school every morning before i went to school yeah i was it uh what was arthur i i was too i'm too old for arthur i mean i know about it but i don't know like what what the fuck his disposition was what his vibe was he's just a nice guy. He was a guy.
Starting point is 00:16:06 He's an anteater. He was friendly. He had friends. He had a little sister. He'd just be going to school, doing his thing. I don't remember it too clearly. That's all I really remember. He was just a pleasant anteater.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Oh, he's an aardvark. Excuse me. Whoops. Okay. Yeah, you don't want anteater Twitter coming for us because they don't fuck around. Next up trending is luciana alvarado who is a costa rican gymnast and she essentially okay so you know like in the olympics there was this whole thing about they're like yo no fucking protesting don't do any fucking podium
Starting point is 00:16:40 like blm you know raising your fist taking a knee type stuff we just won't stand for that at all well um this gymnast uh from costa rica she essentially found a loophole by saying like look i don't have to do it on like the podium um because they said there's this there's an olympic charter rule 50 that says the ioc prohibits any athlete protest or political demonstration on the field of play or metal ceremony. But she, uh, found a way by sort of making the taking a knee and raising a fist part of her routine. Um, so she sort of incorporated it as part of like her gymnastics routine. And so she got to do there and have this like wonderful picture of her, you know, taking a knee and having her fist raised and things like that.
Starting point is 00:17:26 So I think a lot of people were like, oh, look at that. She found a way to have her message still, despite the IOC being like, don't bring attention to anything that's going on in the world, especially the low ratings on the opening ceremony that they say were the worst in decades. I don't even know when it happened when uh it it happened a while ago i think i think it may have been a couple days ago so or maybe yesterday so yeah it's hard to know with the time delay like is we're in japan time and it's it it's it's i haven't saw i haven't seen one thing live i've only caught youtube things but i it's it's making me mad though like that they still did the olympics
Starting point is 00:18:12 because part of it is like you want it to be fun and just with no fans there it just feels so weird i just don't i'm not i'm not vibing with it but but I like to see people achieve things. Okay, so I'm not going to take it out on the athletes. Have you been watching anything? You just been watching basketball with just shading, balding Iranian basketball players? No, look, I love the Iran team, and I just think it's great that they were there. You know, yeah, I only watched one thing, which was the Iran versus U.S. basketball game, because I was just curious. And Iran didn't do well, obviously.
Starting point is 00:18:49 But you know what? I think they were all just happy to be there because it's like a cool event. And, you know, like when you live in Iran, it's very hard to like you're not going to come face to face with Kevin Durant in Iran. In Tehran? No. No. So I think it was just cool that they got to go and be there and just compete against some of the greatest basketball players. You know, they lost by like half. What's half?
Starting point is 00:19:13 Like, oh, they only scored half the points the US did. Yeah, yeah. But you know what? It happens. Look, you know, they hit some threes. I was impressed by. Yeah. You know, they were doing them and that was pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:19:24 That's the only thing i watched i have watched some skateboarding on instagram because the cool young girl skateboarders have been really blowing my mind from like japan and brazil i've really loved watching them uh yeah i mean badass i mean there's a lot of um yeah a lot of good stuff happening do you when you watch do you ever check out like you got to keep an eye out for iran and stuff in the olympics just you know out of just kind of you know the cultural heritage um because i grew up always watching the olympics like and being in japan i was never in the states when the olympics were happening because i was just mostly in japan those times and so a lot of my memories of the olympics are like being with my family like waking
Starting point is 00:20:05 up early just to like cheer on you know just like bygone judo athletes and things like that so part of me like that started activating with me even though i was like i'm not really watching it i didn't see the opening ceremony but like youtube clips started being like watch you know uh nishiya momiji like the 13 year old like win olympic gold and i was like well fuck i'm gonna watch that shit see that and then i'd start crying and stuff no i mean i i i watch like basketball because i enjoy watching basketball but like i'm not really like i don't know i don't like love the olympics yeah yeah they're not it's hard for me to like everyone i'm just not like i'm not trying to watch people swim like i don't know it doesn't hit the same you've reduced that you've reduced olympics for me to go i'm not trying to watch people swim yeah these people are on a jog
Starting point is 00:20:57 dude it's a it's a marathon i don't know it looks like people running through the streets like you could just see that out your window well yeah i'm just like it just makes me like damn I wish I was in a pool well you know how I feel about pools so I want to swim and I don't like the idea of watching other people swim because then I'm just jealous but I don't know it's basketball is fun because you know it's basketball I've been watching that my whole life so I like to watch you know other teams play it's interesting like watching just like how they play like that's cool because every country is kind of different i mean obviously there's the same skills of like dribbling shooting you know obviously but everyone has their own thing going on and i just i enjoy
Starting point is 00:21:37 watching that um what about women's rugby you played women's rugby oh i have like i don't want to get i honestly don't like watching people get like fucked up and like hit. Because you just think of injuries and broken fingers and shoulders. Oh yeah. It takes me back a little too much that I don't, you know, I put all that behind me when I chose to smoke weed instead of being physical. So I'm not trying to go back to that headspace. Performance enhancing drug. Because it actually does, it does take me back.
Starting point is 00:22:05 And I feel like exhilarated, but I also get like anxious. Right, right, right. Because you just feel the potential for injury constantly. Or just like the stress of a game coming on and knowing you have to be like fully in the right mindset and ready to go. Oh, so for you, you're like, you're flashback. You're like going there.
Starting point is 00:22:23 You're not, you can't even watch just being like, oh people are competing it's like it's activating all these sort of like processes internally that you would experience when you were playing yeah i mean i'm naturally very anxious person so back in the day when i would be playing sports like that and then like when i would play sports at like a higher level like i did in college that was like d1 playing rugby like i really it took me a while like I couldn't really talk to people before games. Like I wasn't super relaxed. I had to like, just like focus and be like,
Starting point is 00:22:49 I just need to stay calm and champion and not get my, no, not at all. But I, I'm just so anxious that I would get really nervous before a game. And then like, it's like, I don't want to go in like,
Starting point is 00:22:59 like tripping basically like fumbling around. It's like, no, I have to get my, my, I would basically quiet just to like calm myself and be like, it not that big a deal if you don't win it's not that big a deal if you get your ass fucking handed to you like just keep it moving just keep right okay well i did i would get my ass handed to me a lot dude yeah i can't imagine it's like anyone comes out
Starting point is 00:23:22 of a rugby face okay like i used to get my ass handed to me because I just, you know, sometimes you're weak and it's also just a hyper physical sport too. Like it's, there's barely any protection with the gear and you're there to just fucking fuck shit up. And then some of those girls, they bring the energy of like,
Starting point is 00:23:41 I will kill you. And it's like, that's not worth it. Yeah. You're like, okay. That's one of the reasons I stopped because some girl would be like, you bitch on the field. And I'd of like, I will kill you. And it's like, that's not worth it. Yeah. You're like, okay. That's one of the reasons I stopped because some girl would be like, you bitch on the field. And I'd be like, why?
Starting point is 00:23:50 Can we just compete? Like, you don't have to like. Why are you so aggro? Like, I get that we're tackling each other, but there's no real reason for you to be like calling me a bitch. You dug your nails into the side of my neck, like close to my jugular. Like, it was very, feels very excessive. Or whatever, motherfucker. You're like, okay. Itular like it was very feels very excessive or whatever
Starting point is 00:24:05 motherfucker you're like okay we don't have to be like shit talking to that extent like let's just play the game i like that i like that honorable honorable in competition and finally the hashtag love is blind after the altar is trending because i guess netflix has done a follow-up to their first show that came out in the beginning of 2020, Love is Blind, where all those people were just talking through a wall to each other and not seeing each other. And then meeting finally and then navigating what it was going to be like to get married. And so, yes, they have done a special checking in with some of those contestants. I was like, wait, isn't the new season coming out? I was a
Starting point is 00:24:45 little confused what was happening but i'm just glad to see that that one interracial couple that like who was clearly like the one like couple that seemed to actually be doing well they are still doing well so yeah that's all i'll take yeah what are their names i gotta look cameron and lauren and cameron lauren and cameron there you go yeah they're great yeah and so there's Yeah, what are their names? I gotta look. Cameron and Lauren and Cameron. Lauren and Cameron. There you go. Yeah, they're great. Yeah. And so there's like a bunch of,
Starting point is 00:25:09 I guess a bunch of people have other things to bring up, I guess. So I'll probably tune in. But it's been so long since I watched the original. Like I'm hoping I don't forget all this stuff. Because, you know, we watch so much damn reality half the time. But actually, you know what? I do a good job of never getting the things mixed up. So, all right, well, that's going to do it for today.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Uh, check us out tomorrow. We got a whole episode, you know, and you know what? Jack will be there too, you know? Um, but, uh, until then make sure you wear a mask. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. You know, it's fucking take, handle that shit, uh, head on. Don't let that shit abide around you. Also be, for each other man wear a mask get vaccinated it's just this is the only way we're going to survive as people if we can adopt a mentality of you know
Starting point is 00:25:54 just mutual collaboration and uh and love for one another but until then that is that is it for now thank you anna for being here. And I guess I'll see you tomorrow and the next day. Bye. Bye. Fantasy football fans, the NFL season is here, and now is the time to do your homework.
