Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Lisa, tell them about our new show. We have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi Youanu. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
Starting point is 00:00:14 And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business. Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Hamza.
Starting point is 00:00:36 And I'm Martin. And we're the host of Out of Character. The best podcast in the world. It's really funny and a good time. Really? Yeah, yeah. I think statistics just came back and we're one of the funniest two guys with mics. And that's pretty hard to beat right now.
Starting point is 00:00:49 But it's true, actually. Why should people listen to us? Tell them. Well, we're trendy. We're funny. We're topical. You get all your news here. Not, you know, the facts, but maybe our takes on it and everything in between.
Starting point is 00:00:59 So listen to Out of Character on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. In February of 2024, celebrated illustrator and children's book author Patra Mathers and her husband Michael mailed letters to dozens of friends and family members to let them know they had died by suicide. Dear honies, this is goodbye. By the time you get this letter, both Petra and I will be dead. Next stop, Wonderland. Why did they do it? And what did it do to the people they left behind? behind. Listen to Death of an Artist on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
Starting point is 00:01:35 podcasts. Black Lit. October is Black Fiction Month, and the Black Lit podcast explores the minds of Sebo Campbell. How speculative fiction works as you enter into a story with a question. Nisi Shaw. What kind of world would it be if these people had not perished? And Octavia Butler. In science fiction and fantasy, I can do absolutely anything. As they pose a the question. What if? Listen to Black Lit on the Black Effect Podcast Network on Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. You broke me. You do not deserve happiness. I'm Andrea Gunning. On this season of betrayal, Carl thought he was living a normal drama-free life until the messages started. Someone's not going to make it out of this alive.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Every piece of evidence pointed to the wrong guy. He was not going to stop unless we stopped him. Listen to Betrayal Season 6 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Trend Razor. That one courtesy of Vanadium Silver, a play on Hellraiser, Miles. Hellraiser. And that is... That's a scary film. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Spooky. Guys got, I think his name's Needleface. He's got all these needles all over his damn face. Oh, dad. It's not... Hey, pine cone. Hey, pine cone head. What's your problem there?
Starting point is 00:03:08 Does your dad have to come with us on every time? Every time we're going to see pinhead. Pine cone face? Yeah, but you pine cone face. Oh, you know, this movie's bad. It's got H.E. double hockey sticks in the title. In the dang title right there. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Well, not anymore. We've changed the name to Trendraiser. Good. because we don't, we don't mess with that sort of stuff. Like Edward, we care about your soul. Still watching Twilight. This guy's fucking crazy, bro. He's crazy for this one.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Robert Watson. He's actually, the more I watch it now, I'm like, oh, this really is, I think it was easy for me to dismiss. He's playing some weird vampire.
Starting point is 00:03:49 By this third movie, he's doing a little affects that I'm like, oh, you're giving Edward some real, like I could feel, he's always on that verge of tears when he's like talking to his Edward. And I'm like, that underrated.
Starting point is 00:04:01 I feel like that's, I'm starting to really appreciate Robert Pattinson's performance as ever. Because at the time, people were like, by the third movie, everyone was like, he's so out on this performance that he's actively, like, tanking it. And like, he thinks he's too good for the role. But I do, I think, I don't know. Like, he was probably doing something interesting with it. I don't think, like, I don't think it's, like, objectively, like,
Starting point is 00:04:28 this is one of the greatest performance ever, but I'm like, I fuck with Robert Pattinson, because I only know he's bringing more to it than Taylor. Now that I'm seeing it, oh, poor Taylor. Slightly more. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:04:39 I mean, Taylor didn't know he was going like, up to toe to toe against one of the great actors of his generation, you know? Taylor had the, two of the great actors. Taylor had the better physique. You know what I mean? So they,
Starting point is 00:04:50 and that's all I noticed at the time. That's all I noticed. I was looking this guy up and down as to, as taken in his ass. Yeah, these claws like a werewolf. Clause is weird. Clause is like that, that's not, that doesn't, anyways, we'll get to that.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Get to that real thing. We'll get to that right now, actually. Let's talk about it. Yeah, Donald Trump had a rally in Ohio to help incumbent Senator John Hustead. He just figured out that John Houston was already a famous person's name halfway through his last name. And so he just went John Houston. Yeah. Is it Husted?
Starting point is 00:05:29 Husted. Yeah, yeah. Husted. Look, it's whatever you want to be. That name sucks. You don't have to respect these fucking people's names, to be honest. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, he is currently, he's running against Sherrod Brown, who used to be a senator, but was defeated by Bernie Moreno.
Starting point is 00:05:45 He's trying to get back in office part of that blue wave may be coming. Who knows, though? But during the rally, first of all, before that happened, a woman was wearing, like, a release the Epstein file shirt and started, like, shouting down the president during the speech and protesting. the dude fucking like in the row in front of her like was like hit her and pulled her hair and it was kind of like one of these things are like the bystanders around her like
Starting point is 00:06:08 yeah I mean uh you know like protest and like but yo what the fuck is this and the cops came let the dude just they're like yeah with the rally man even though you totally put hands on this person and probably remove the woman I would have to say yeah yeah yeah yeah and get her and Trump was like get her out of there
Starting point is 00:06:24 um so then Trump had the honor of getting to, again, talk about the man of the hour, John has a former college football player. My God, it was Trump very interested in his physique. And he wants you to let you know, he doesn't do this all the time talking about how, like, ripped a dude is, but...
Starting point is 00:06:47 Only, like, twice in the past week, I feel like. Yeah, but I don't do this very often, as he likes to just give us that little caveat at the top. And I don't do this with men very often. I started examining his body. So that, like, that seems like the sort of thing in a past, you know, past presidents of, like, George H.W. Bush said that, like, that would be the pool quote. And that would be it.
Starting point is 00:07:09 But then, uh, he goes on. Because I didn't know he was a great athlete. And I looked and I watched up and down. I looked at his ass and I looked at the whole way. And then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He's got these, like, claws. And I got it.
Starting point is 00:07:27 You are a great athlete. I didn't know that because he doesn't talk about that. Congratulations. Now they finally know. That was very good. Congratulations on a great ass, man. They finally know. Congratulations on your ass.
Starting point is 00:07:41 They finally know. Yeah. So he's got a great ass. He got a great ass. And I got my head all the way up it. But then he also wants to let you know. He wasn't done being like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:57 I got to just say real quick on the claws thing. Uh-huh. Go ahead. That doesn't seem like big and athletic. That seems like shriveled and like not, you know, like claws would, I'm picturing like a witch's hand or, you know what I mean? Like I'm not, I'm not picturing like mammoth meat paws. You know, I mean, I guess if he had said like bear mitts or something, you know what I mean? Like that, that would be the thing that.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Maybe he just saw swingers and that whole. He's like, you've got these fucking claws, man. Oh, interesting. Okay, yeah. So that has been used before to be like, but. I could be, you know, I'm a little weird. Trying to die with a weird man content from yesterday. Sure, sure.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Claws is like a cool thing as you tear apart a rabbit. Yeah, that's like all gentle lovers. So then, but he does go on. He's like, this guy doesn't have a, it's not only just a great fucking ass. Yeah, he can't stop himself. Look at this fucker's face real quick. Look at that jawline. I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I never saw that. He's getting all up on the mic. I say, look at that jaw. Look at the jawline. He's tough as hell. He's tough as hell. What else?
Starting point is 00:09:13 What else? Yes. Also, I looked at this man. Yeah. I know. I was expecting. Right. Something.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Chad City, USA. No. I was expecting to be in Jordan. Chad City, USA. You know what I'm saying? I mean, he looks like the guy who's the actor who played Peter McAllister, the dad from home alone,
Starting point is 00:09:40 John Hurd. Yeah, that's what he looks like. He looks like a standard issue. 50-something, 60-something year old white man. That guy is also a John H. Just so you know. John Hurd, the actor, they all have this. He looks like John Hurd, if you like, just lightly blur your eyes, because he has like, it looks like he has like a, his face is so smooth. He has no facial, not even like in a filtered way.
Starting point is 00:10:04 He just has like a very nondescript face. Yeah, like his face has been painted onto him or something like that. Yeah, yeah, exactly. By a beautiful artist. By beautiful artists. Beautiful Jal. I can really appreciate the male form. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:10:18 It is just weird. Like this has just been an open thing for a long time where people are like, yeah, Trump has the vibes of like a kind of queenie old man. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You know, and we're fine with that. And his homophobic supporters seem to be fine with it as well. There's something, because I think, you know, deep down, people are like, yeah, that's, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:41 I don't know. I don't know. I think because it's like anything Trump says, it doesn't matter, you know, what their previously were. Right. So even if they are, they'd be like, hell yeah, he's got a great ass. Yeah, man. He'd be like, we've got to protect girls in sports or some other weird shit.
Starting point is 00:10:56 So there's no consistency. Look, and if you got a great ass, sometimes things are objectively like a great ass. Yeah. So it's fair. It is one of the coolest things he's ever said. It's just so funny that his crowd is so behind him on it while also being genuinely, generally knee-jerk homophobic people. Of course, that's I'm saying there could be something magical about John Huston's ass, though, that even like someone with these deeply entrenched problematic views goes, I got it. I got to give an award out when I see it.
Starting point is 00:11:28 I think that's the investigative reporting that we have to do is we got to find some footage of this guy's ass. Because I was not impressed by the jawline. I got to tell you, Miles. I'm on it. I'm on it. Also, the next day today, after that rally, Trump was like, yeah, now he's up in the race. Just looking at the polling. I said that thing.
Starting point is 00:11:48 And now he's up. Sherrod Brown is in fact up three points. right now. So, oh, he's still trailing, but I mean, Trump's internal polling. And by that, we, of course, mean the polling inside his head. All right. We were talking yesterday about, like, how maybe it's time for Ben Shapiro to hang it up, because this whole thing is, like, I'm a public-facing public figure who,
Starting point is 00:12:13 when I comment on a baseball team and that team loses, everybody assumes it's like a curse by me, like just people, people don't like him. the movie that he was making Danny Trejo's son had to come out and be like, I don't, he doesn't know who that is just to try and sick face.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Getting a check from him. Yeah, exactly. So it seems like he should start to figure out who he is. This, so it was just announced a real egg on my face. Or I guess I should say
Starting point is 00:12:44 egg on like all of these fuckers' faces because it was just announced that he wrote a movie that is starring Rob Lowe's, Nick Nolte James Franco Emil Hirsch
Starting point is 00:12:57 So James Franco and Emil Hirsch I think to be expected Like I feel like they've both been Was Emil Hirsch? Very various levels of penciled Right so like They're probably
Starting point is 00:13:08 In a room with a team Who's like these libs You know These libs are fucking with your career man Fucking with your paper So that maybe is to be expected Jennifer Jason Lee girl what are we doing
Starting point is 00:13:25 hey man hey the kid from power of the dog who is so good doing the the hula hoop kid from power of the dog that shit was an indelible performance dean morris the fuck
Starting point is 00:13:38 yeah from breaking bed I'm I don't it's like all these things I feel like every time we've a few times when these like right wing kind of movies come out people go like oh I was in another thing that got licensed by this company
Starting point is 00:13:51 but Ben Shapiro wrote this script. Ben Shapiro wrote this script. It is being like aired. So congratulations. You guys are in a movie that premieres in a hundred theaters the same day it goes live on the daily wire. Yeah. So that's the distribution strategy for this one. I'd imagine just from them doing it,
Starting point is 00:14:12 I go they all are probably just conservative. That's right. They have to be. Or at least on some like where it matters they are. Right. Yeah, yeah, truly. I mean, like, I'm sure if you dig deep into their hearts are like, yeah, I don't give a shit about anything. I mean, is this like, are these, is this the lagging tale of the decisions that people were making a year and a half ago when it seemed like there's going to be this Trump takeover of all culture?
Starting point is 00:14:39 And they're just like, yeah, okay, here we go. This is our new future. You know, we star in movies written by Ben Shapiro. He's going to be the only person who's allowed to write movies soon. so we might as well get started. You know what I mean? And then, you know, Elon did the Nazi salute and Trump fucking tanked the entire country
Starting point is 00:15:02 and now it's become less popular. But I just wonder if these are people just being like trying to read the direction things are going and being like, well, yeah, I don't have any ideological beliefs one way or another, you know? They don't. They just strike me as it.
Starting point is 00:15:20 It doesn't matter. You know what I mean? It doesn't. Yeah, yeah. It just doesn't matter. It's a job, fine, great. And I think it's, I think that's, I think that's also part too is I think like, Rob Lowe, you're in parks and wreck, you too.
Starting point is 00:15:35 It's just like at the end of the day, these people are used to living a certain way. And if there's money being offered for the job that they do, then they're going to take it. Floating along obliviously. I've kind of the vibes that I'm getting from Roblo. Yeah, yeah. I just, God, I mean, I just. I was really counting on Nick Nolte to be star. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:57 It's just you hate to see good things happen. And like, so the content of the movie, it's called, I think, the interrogation or confession. It's called confession. And it's about somebody being interrogated by James Franco in Stalin's Russia.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Like, I think it's, I think Rob Lowe is playing a professor, great casting guys. the deep intellectual rigor of Roblo as playing a professor and he's having to be interrogated by all these different people and I'm sure you know Stalin Russia I'm sure that they will presumably draw a bunch
Starting point is 00:16:34 of parallels between authoritarianism and you know people thinking that we should have health care yeah yeah exactly that'll be one of the things he's being interrogated about what's this I heard you say that people deserve health oh oh we actually do have health care. Yeah. Soviet Russia. So it ends on a line, have you ever seen a child starved to death by Nick Nolte? Which is something that Ben Shapiro would gladly have happened to prevent socialism. So anyways, interesting.
Starting point is 00:17:05 I'm glad that there's a place for the actors that have been forgotten to go. Yeah. It's the daily wire and San Jennifer Jason Lee hasn't been forgotten. What is she doing? What are you doing? I mean, maybe she has. I haven't been better. It doesn't matter. No matter.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Yeah. You know? We're past that, I think. With these people. All right. Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. The music you love.

Starting point is 00:18:20 references, occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived at all. I'm not going to get anyone fighting. That is wild. I learned that about you today. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business, and I've always got something to say. Starting point is 00:19:23 listen to us. We are the best podcast in the entire world. I swear. I know, bold. But why don't we list some of the things we might talk about on a regular episode? So sometimes we'll talk about, I don't know, the Uber driver we just had. And how nice they were, or if we tipped them or not, come and find out. Sometimes we'll talk about that weird news story from last week. It's the one you're thinking about, trust me. Or maybe we'll talk about music and what's happening in the underground or or drama and music or TV shows or the Met Gala and what the actors wore. What we're saying is we're not afraid to talk about everything under the sun. And if you want to see what that's like, come join us.

Listen to out of character from Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network on the iHeart radio app, Apple Pods, or wherever you get your podcasts. If anyone wanted to commit a murder, up here would be the greatest place in the world to hide the body, but someone will find it. He acted friendly. He talked friendly. He sounded friendly.
Starting point is 00:20:29 They all knew that I did the scary boogie stuff, and I said, maybe she'll find out where this girl is. I saw him violent. Backhanded a bow! And that's exactly what made us all think he had something to do with it. The clock is ticking down, and the woods are calling. There are a lot of demons in Putnam County, but I've met the devil, and he's real. I'm Paul Solitarev, and this is Season 2 of The Devil's Quarry. Starting point is 00:21:40 sex, divorce, and all the nitty-gritty stuff we all think about, but just don't say out loud. I hate that job. You're probably just going to meet with some rich guy, and he's going to whisk you away, and I'll never see you again. And, oh, this is awkward. Would you say a D-less actor? D?
Starting point is 00:21:56 I don't even know there's this thing as D. No, no, no. I mean, like... Can't even get on the C-list? Like, I'm not even an average. I'm not even passing. I'm failing. Listen to no safe words with October and Tony Gonzalez,
Starting point is 00:22:05 part of My Culture Podcast Network. Available on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast. And we're back. Back. Let's see. The Republicans are quitting on a couple more races. House races in this case? They've quit on now three House races
Starting point is 00:22:31 where they're just like officially like they're like okay no more money for these races okay, we can't get another fucking cent because you know I think their internal data suggests there's no point in wasting more money trying to fight off democratic challenges
Starting point is 00:22:46 and I think it's just you know again the triaging is continuing but as they are trying to figure out the most efficient way to hold on to their seats without pissing more money away they do have Elon Musk stepping in because my God, he must, I think,
Starting point is 00:23:03 I have a feeling he's really going to do everything he can to hope that there's never a Democrat president or, you know, full on Congress because he's spending like his fucking life depends on it. He's already put in $366 million in this cycle.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Okay? That's a lot of money. 66 million dollars. How is that legal? That's because it's just like a pack. Yeah. Yeah. Just give it to a pack, man.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Give it to the back. Give it to the back, dude. No matter. It's how I get things done. I mean, the latest amount that he put in was $158 million to the Senate leadership fund. Ah, what a good system. Everyone is like, oh, what are we going to fucking do?
Starting point is 00:23:45 Yeah. The only, even though these numbers are fucking terrifying, just as numbers generally, let alone the numbers being spent on fucking political ads, the ad spend hasn't been as effective. Yeah. Because none of these fucking candidates are actually doing anything or appearing in any way to want to actually offer something different to voters in terms of like, you know, cost of living being the biggest thing right now. Yeah. So, yeah, $158 million. We'll see where that goes. Like I said yesterday, they're already people were spending money in the wrong Portland trying to the Senate race. Right. It's just too much money for them to know what to do. It's too many fucking dummies doing it. So, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:27 It's a scatter shot. I feel like just an all-purpose, you know, how the Republicans have the all-purpose, God, don't we love Trump ad? I feel like an all-purpose Democrat ad where it's just like Elon Musk doing the Nazi salute, Elon Musk's comments on, like, you know, white supremacy and, you know, saving the white race. And then just that is who is spending furiously trying to prevent us from taking power. I think, would be smart.
Starting point is 00:24:57 I think sadly, him being a Nazi isn't terrifying enough to people. Sure. It's probably going to have to be something about like why your Disney Plus
Starting point is 00:25:06 subscription went up on Musk's fault. Yeah, billionaires generally spending, yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess the Nazi salute
Starting point is 00:25:15 is like icing on the cake. It's a little flavoring. It's more of those things if you know, you know. Yeah, yeah. Then you're like,
Starting point is 00:25:21 oh, yeah, that's disqualified. That's bad. There's a terrible story out of Six Flags that I don't know how much we want to get into it other than just to say that I'm now as a roller coaster lover like I have heard from multiple people being like you shouldn't ride rollercoot you're in your 40s man what are you doing um and now I'm saying why why like
Starting point is 00:25:43 for your health or something like for your health and like that they are dangerous like that it's something that and that a man fell out of one um that's in Georgia right yeah yeah And they had to like, they closed nine roller coasters across six amusement parks that used the same type of restraint because they were like, well. So this restraint doesn't work. Oh, it was a Goliath there. Yeah, there's a Goliath here at Magic Mountain. That is the sort of thing that I would have loved to go on prior to the story. So anyway, stay safe out there, people.
Starting point is 00:26:17 It's just like one of those things, too. It's the, for the longest time, we're like, these are the safest fucking things you could be on. Right. That's what I thought. Yeah. There's a lot of things. Private equity. A lot of private equity going through, coursing through the veins of all manners. Although I wonder, too, if you looked up stats, like, in the 80s and 70, there were a fuck ton of roller coaster. I feel like there's also,
Starting point is 00:26:41 there could just as easily be as many. It's just that maybe they don't, like, arise to the level of being total national. Yeah. That back then, it was that everyone was, right? It's like the same thing with, like, texting and driving. Like, now, far fewer people are driving drunk, but they are all texting. It's like now, you know, fewer people are operating these rides drunk and stoned,
Starting point is 00:27:03 but they are also having every cost cut by, you know, they're on their fifth 24-hour shift doing, operating this ride. All right. Big news in the world of Amelia Earhart, former icon. That was actually a really fun episode. we like um digging in i i kind of only knew her as a pilot who disappeared and digging in she was
Starting point is 00:27:31 like the johnny knoxville of her time she's just like crazy you're crazy for this one amelia um that or i'm just good at what i do baby it's what yeah yeah uh but yeah so it it sounds like and this is like a common thing this now feels like we just heard about they're like we found noah's arc and everyone's like no he fucking did it yeah there's a lot of a lot of a lot of scans from above. Scans from on high. So researchers are now, they're saying that they believe they have found the final resting place of her Electra airplane, her Lockheed 10EEEEtra airplane. They said a 17-person expedition was inspired by satellite image taken over several years, showing a submerged object in the uninhabited island Sandy Lagoon.
Starting point is 00:28:16 And the island is around where her last radio broadcast came from. Right. Exactly. Um, people said they hope it'll be the wreckage site. Separate aerial footage of the area suggested the submerged object has a metallic glint. But I mean, air heart enthusiasts have pointed out like, well, yeah, we've definitely looked around here. I've looked there. Yeah. But it's hard, it's hard to say because, you know, like, it's a big, apparently it's a big island. So I was out on this because it seems like this happens every handful of years.
Starting point is 00:28:51 someone is like, I saw, like, we got this amazing scan from the bottom of the Pacific in the exact shape of an airplane. And then that person has to, like, come out and do a press conference being like, it was the cruelest rock formation. It was actually the shadow of the airplane we were in. And then I watched an NBC news, like a national news broadcast on the story. And it got my ass back in. I'm back in. I think it might be... Okay, so let me say why the things...
Starting point is 00:29:29 Well, probably had you out at first when you read, because people who have searched before have said, we've been there. We most likely think it's probably a fallen tree. Yeah. But we do, but they did say... But like, they looked in 2001, 2007, with metal detectors, couldn't find anything.
Starting point is 00:29:48 They said if there was something there, we would have found it. But they did... They do agree. it's like, but we do believe also that that is probably the area. If there is an area, we would also believe it too. So they've been looking in this general area since the month after she disappeared. So that, yeah, that was the thing.
Starting point is 00:30:06 And like, you know, the thing that, the only thing that's really changed is that people are still, like, equally eager to find the plane. And I feel like our media has gotten a little worse at fact checking shit like this. and our economy is now mostly scam-based flotsam. And the idea that, you know, the rules of entropy in Times Arrow would suggest, you know, the plane did not get less scattered and, like, more intact over time.
Starting point is 00:30:37 But I, that was more of a problem for me when I thought it was like submerged in the ocean, but this appears to be like on kind of a sandbar in like a bit of a lagoon. but I loved so one of the things that one of the treasure hunters
Starting point is 00:30:55 the people who are like going also don't seem like scammers some of them seem like academics and one of the guys goes it's a big island three by one mile so it's not Tom Hank and castaway I love Tom Hank
Starting point is 00:31:11 is so funny to me he did reverse dad yeah he did the opposite of my dad who adds S to like Brad Pitt All right, it ain't Tom Hank. It ain't Tom Hank. It ain't Steve Job. Um,
Starting point is 00:31:26 Tom Hank. Yeah. So I don't know. If it's a big enough island and you're just like, yeah, we were just kind of searching with those metal detectors on the beach like 60 year old men on the Jersey shore, then maybe this
Starting point is 00:31:42 scan, you know, maybe the advent of fucking satellites, is a thing that is going to be significant and we just found her. Ladies and gentlemen, we got him. Founder.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Yeah, I just like, I mean, I think the people who are invested in also finding Amelia Earhart, they don't have, it's not going to prove some weird fucked up
Starting point is 00:32:04 conspiracy theory. No. Find the thing. So that's, I'm like, I understand this pursuit and I feel people are doing it in good faith,
Starting point is 00:32:13 unless it's like the kind of thing you do to just like scam people that like to fund your like expedition. every time. Yeah. Or closer, man. I see like, like,
Starting point is 00:32:20 100K, dude, I'm serious. And I, you get a piece of it. I did picture them, like going to look on this Pacific Island drinking drinks out of,
Starting point is 00:32:30 like, hollowed out coconuts and pineapples. But the NBC news story did make it look like it was a tremendous bummer, like that you have to, like, get through very rough seas on a little boat. And everybody, um,
Starting point is 00:32:43 was like, oh my God, there's the island. Thank God. they get shipwrecked. Yeah, a luxury group. Miles,
Starting point is 00:32:53 nudity and video games. It's a thing that's been going on since, and I didn't realize this, but I do now, after our most recent, this coming Monday's icon episode, I didn't realize that
Starting point is 00:33:09 the ghosts from Pac-Man went nude in the original Pac-Man. Did you know that? Yeah. the little, uh, the, the,
Starting point is 00:33:20 the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
Starting point is 00:33:22 the, the little pink bits of organ meat underneath. They look gross. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:30 What is this? Um, what's wrong with them? Anyways, long history of nudity and video games, starting with Pac-Man and now, so Grant's to, like,
Starting point is 00:33:41 Grant, I know. Considering where, where we're about to go with it. Yeah, and now Grant Theft Auto a leak revealed that the game will feature full frontal nudity, not just in cutscenes.
Starting point is 00:33:54 There are shots of the character Jason running around Vice City naked, so maybe don't steal any cars with leather seats while you're doing that. I mean, do we see butts? I think you're going to see butts. Are they going to see, are there's full-on sex organs too? Yeah, I think so. I think it's like full on he's hanging dork
Starting point is 00:34:18 oh man well um cool yeah and like the naked character can still reportedly pull out guns from somewhere on his body and uh
Starting point is 00:34:32 weirder still and this is what made me think maybe this is a glitch is that pedestrians seem unfazed by both the gun and his flopping penis look it's America in
Starting point is 00:34:46 2006, I'm sure. So I was like, this has to be a glitch. This isn't something people would put in a video game. And then the follow up is that Zelda Breath of the Wild also has nudity, but like theirs is programmed into the game so that Link is like running around in his underwear and other characters are like responding to it and being like, hey, man, why are you, why aren't you wearing clothes? Get some clothes on.
Starting point is 00:35:14 again, just such a weird choice. Why are we doing that? Real shame. You know, you gotta have a culture of shame to be able to do a nude in the street. We are just shameless. Yeah. I mean, yeah, there's so many like new things like, you can do coke, you're naked, you got a gun. That I'm like, man, that's like, there's a lot going.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Have you not been able to do drugs and past Grand Theft Auto? I feel like you were drinking. You may have smoked or something. The thing that, like, would actually have, like, you could drink. drink alcohol and your shit would get all fucking blurry and like you'd also Oh really? Yeah but then like your punching strength would be like astronomically
Starting point is 00:35:52 like overpowered so you just knock people out because you're just drunk and strong. It wasn't and then That seems like a bad message. Yeah yeah yeah you could you take a drink you'll have fighting superpowers. Yeah well this one's like hey be naked with your fucking blammer on you and everybody
Starting point is 00:36:08 be like hey good day to you sir and a good day to you good tomorrow. It's funny like whatever I hear hear it. I'm like, even when I said with the cocaine, I'm like, I start to feel more conservative. And I'm like, is that, is that what I, is that what I want my kid to play? I mean, my kid's three and he's not even close to playing video games. But he's like, you should learn from watching bad 90s movies about these things first before you go into a sandbox game where you're doing all this. Breath of the Wild is the first Zelda game that allows Link to wander the world in the nude,
Starting point is 00:36:39 not completely nude, but in his underwear. So players are taking a advantage of the opportunity and welcoming the breeze between their knees. This is from a mashable article. The non-player characters that inhabit the world aren't ignorant of Link's nakedness. So this is, they're just like, yeah, we got to, we got to make this possible. I got to get that game. Got to get that thing. And finally, we want to say RIP to the actor who played Walter White Jr. on Breaking Bad,
Starting point is 00:37:07 R.J. Middy, who tragically took his own life on Monday in Texas, 34 years old. it's uh man it the the seeing a lot of posts from like he was just did like a hot air balloon trip with one of the guys who played uh one like the salamanca hit men like he's still friends with just reading a lot of like tributes brian cranston posted i'm in deep despair as i write this tonight rj my sweet son on breaking bad has died i met him when he was only 14 years old when he was cast as walter white junior apart he played with such joy in enthusiasm born his cerebral palsy. He never ever allowed that challenge to be an excuse for anything.
Starting point is 00:37:46 He met the demanding shooting schedule head on with great determination. Always listening to the advice that his TV parents and a gun and myself gave him, but being a teenager, sometimes mischievously ignoring the council in order to learn the hard way. He was one of the stars of a hit TV show, but still a kid.
Starting point is 00:38:02 Yeah, I didn't really have 14. I didn't realize 14 is so young. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Very, very sad. All right. Those are some of the things that are trending on this October 13th. We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves.
