Listen to Señora Sex Ed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Transylvania. I've probably done that one you get your podcasts. Dig in to the Discord for me. So we're just going to go with that. I'm Jack, and I am thrilled to be joined next to me, across from me, through the Zoom filament is the brilliant, the hilarious, the talented, super producer, Anna Hosnier! Hey! Hi. Sorry if you can hear drilling in the background my dog barking in the background
Starting point is 00:02:46 um your dog is operating a hand drill yeah there's a lot going on in the background apologies um i'm being forced against my will to do this show i'm joking uh but yeah i'm sorry there's just like a lot of weird stuff going on in my apartment right now all right uh well here are some of the things that are trending uh there's a big controversy about a video that people think is a deep fake or like a cgi uh manipulation that is so i i went into this uh assuming that something interesting or controversial was going to happen in the video. It is a video on the White House lawn. Joseph Robinette Biden walks up to the camera, answers two questions in very Biden fashion. I don't even remember what the questions are,
Starting point is 00:03:41 what his answers are, because they're very boring and uh and then he walks to the helicopter um but some q anon theorists thought they saw something going on with uh one of the microphones in the foreground they thought it there was a little bit of uh i don't know image manipulation evidence uh going on between a fuzzy gray microphone and joe biden when he was speaking into it uh and so they are using that video and you know various they're treating it like the moon landing video where they're like where's the how come there's wind on the moon uh and you know breaking it down frame by frame to prove that Joe Biden is dead or not the president
Starting point is 00:04:28 or a robot or a fictional digital invention. I don't know. It is, but it's kind of, I think, maybe just a combination of a slow news day for the right since they had to, we already know it's a slow news day for them because they're going off on Captain America
Starting point is 00:04:56 having a gay character in it. What? It's something that was happening in the early 80s and they're acting like this is outrageous, which obviously it's not, but just that's how desperate they are for something to be outraged about. So I think the emptiness of their lives today
Starting point is 00:05:21 has led to this story going viral. And lots of people, lots of eyewitnesses who were there are like, I'm the guy holding the gray microphone. He walked up to us. It's people who are experts on video CGI are like, you couldn't do this anyways, even if you wanted to, which why would you? So anyways, that is just so that people don't have to actually watch the video to try to
Starting point is 00:05:48 figure out what the fuck people are talking about. Uh, that is what that is. Uh, any thoughts on, uh, well, no thoughts because I watched the video and it's the most uninteresting video I've ever seen. So like, why? Yeah, that's a, it's a most uninteresting video I've ever seen. So like, why? Yeah, that's a, it's a new angle of the deep fake thing where not only is it that we're going
Starting point is 00:06:12 to be tricked by some very sophisticated deep fakes, but now, uh, people will be able to point to any boring ass video and be like, that's a deep fake, man. See, you can tell because of this right here,
Starting point is 00:06:25 uh, and pretend they're experts on deep fakes, um, and whatnot. What's not, um, can't trust anything anymore. Even boring videos that have no purpose.
Starting point is 00:06:38 They probably are spending millions of dollars to make those happen. Um, millions of dollars to make those happen um speaking of spending millions of dollars to make something boring happen uh the snyder cut is out baby i actually don't know if it's boring um but it is a thing uh and i know you were excited about this and you were mad that i was making you join this because uh you were planning to devote the whole day to the snyder cut no i don't know what the snyder cut is i don't know who snyder is i don't know what any of this means i don't know why everyone keeps talking about this snyder cut um i think let me give you a little background all uh pay attention to more important things in the world. Well,
Starting point is 00:07:27 let me give you a little background. Cue my mentions being ruined for saying that last line, but go ahead. This is actually important because it involves Superman and Batman and the Flash. Kissing? Yeah. Big time. Okay, that could be interesting. Alright, so Snyder is
Starting point is 00:07:44 Zack Snyder, director director auteur uh behind 300 um the very bad watchmen adaptation uh and others uh he and he also made uh superman versus batman uh man of steel and then he was in the process of making the Justice League movie had a family tragedy so he left the making of that they hired Joss Whedon to take it over for him and Joss Whedon
Starting point is 00:08:17 finished the movie and Zack Snyder not happy with how he did that he was like this is bad. My version is four hours, and everybody's going to want to see that. So that's what this is. It's been a thing that he's been saying.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Four hours? It's four hours. Oh. The original version was two hours. So you know this new one must be better, because it's four hours. So I just looked through. I haven't seen the original.
Starting point is 00:08:50 I have not seen the Snyder Cut. So I'm an expert. But I did go through an article that just kind of listed the differences. It sounds pretty different. The score is different and apparently better. The opening is different. Like basically there is not a single, he refused to use a single shot
Starting point is 00:09:18 that Joss Whedon like filmed like during reshoots, which was- An ally. Yes, yeah, exactly uh exactly he was uh he was fuck joss whedon probably for much pettier reasons than he should have been uh but it sounds like it was like really re-edited with a with a vengeance um And then there's just more Cyborg, more The Flash, more Aquaman. It has a different main villain, and Cyborg has a much more rich origin story.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Superman sounds like he's all around cooler. He wears a black suit after coming back from the dead. So that's, I don't know. I would probably be more likely to watch this than the original if uh the original weren't half the half the length of this one um okay so you in did i sell it no i'm not watching that i don't watch anything more than 20 minutes anymore yeah um and no i really you know i feel like i did actually see the original because my boyfriend always just like puts things on in front of me and i was like cool yeah movie and um i that's your catchphrase that's your catchphrase by the way cool yeah movie
Starting point is 00:10:43 engineer oh anna so bored i'm sorry if i was i was pretty bored when you were talking about that That's your catchphrase. That's your catchphrase, by the way. Cool. Yeah. Movie. like you gave me bad features i have a vengeance against you i'm gonna edit my face there you go so anyway that's where i'm at after what you said so sounds fun i'm glad it came out and i hope everyone who was waiting for this is fulfilled in what they were looking for in life i do too that's what i'm hoping for uh i don't i'm not here to yuck anyone's yum, which is a phrase that I am now retiring from my vocabulary. Yeah, don't yuck people's Snyder yum. I hope you guys enjoy it. Please refrain from speaking to me about it. Olivia Munn is trending.
Starting point is 00:11:37 She issued a statement following the mass shooting of six Asian women. uh mass shooting uh of six asian women uh and there's just you know she's been sounding the alarm of uh racist violence against asian people all year uh and so now she's just issuing the statement being like motherfucker we told you um in other news can i just really quickly say um it's fascinating to me like now people we've all as a community as a society sorry to say the word society we've always had racism towards asian americans and now you know it's heightened more than ever uh but like this has been a problem for a long time as well and it's interesting because so many like kind of public figures like old tweets from like 2011 or whatever are coming out including uh the teen vogue editor who had to resign right uh what alexi McCammon, because all these tweets came out
Starting point is 00:12:45 of her being incredibly racist against Asian Americans, and she had some homophobic comments, but within the Bachelor Nation universe, we had a former contestant, Taylor, whose last name is hard to say. She was also called out for having a bunch of
Starting point is 00:13:01 really racist tweets against Asian people as well and it's like what it i mean it's i'm glad it's coming out because we need to be talking about it but this has been going on for so long and it's just like it's really upsetting that like now you know i mean it's always the problem it's like now we're being like hey that wasn't cool and it's like it's never been cool we've we're a racist society we always kind of have to like pick on someone we have to jump on someone and be like here are your stereotypes and we are going to rub them in and it's it's dark we need a reckoning and we're i mean we're
Starting point is 00:13:37 kind of getting it um speaking of a reckoning on this subject, a 70-year-old woman beat the shit out of a 39-year-old racist who attacked her in San Francisco. Not to put too much of a cute face on this horrible story, but that did, I think, make non-racist's hearts swell a little bit. You got a stick? Yeah. They're attacking you? attacking you beat the shit out of them um effie angelova uh aka house of effie on instagram who is one of army hammer's accusers uh she had a press conference today uh Gloria Allred who's her attorney now in which she you know accused
Starting point is 00:14:30 Armie Hammer of rape in detail they've turned evidence over to the police and the LAPD who say the investigation is ongoing there's just a yeah it's i that is always my my faith in the lapd to
Starting point is 00:14:52 uh do anything is constantly diminishing but uh you know hopefully this is a step towards holding him accountable. There's also just, it is a day full of men behaving like monsters. David Dobrik, who I didn't know who that was, part of something called Vlog Squad. Oh, he's the Vine star turned YouTube star turned probably TikTok star. Yeah. What does he do?
Starting point is 00:15:29 There are rape allegations against him. Wow, that guy? Yeah. Trust no one. And then Brad Pitt is being implicated in abusive behavior and divorce proceedings. Maddox, Jolie, Pitt testified in a way that People Magazine described as unflattering.
Starting point is 00:15:52 And Angelina Jolie says she has proof of his abusive behavior. So, yeah. Almost like white men are trash. Can I say one thing about the hammer accusations hammer army hammers lawyer came out and was like we have proof that effie sent graphic text to mr hammer of telling him what she wanted him to do to her so that means he couldn't have raped her or whatever their logic is um that's not how that works you can send as
Starting point is 00:16:26 many graphic texts to a person saying what you want to do to them uh if you are in a uh consensual cnc relationship which is consensual uh uh like non-consent play it is an agreement you make so you can say whatever you want that does not mean you get to actually rape the person. Okay. So you don't get to be like, well, you were into this, so I could rape you. No. Clearly, boundaries were crossed that they had, you know, she was trying to set. And that's why she is upset.
Starting point is 00:16:58 So, like, that's why she feels like she was abused, because he crossed the boundary of what she was comfortable with and once you do that you have broken the consent so you it can be but you can do both you can want to uh take part in cnc play but also not be actually raped and and literally have your safe word or whatever your boundaries disregarded right uh so don't ever think just because being like well she sent those texts that doesn't matter because once you're in the bedroom what the person says in the bedroom is what matters or whatever whatever location you're at because that's that's the moment that matters not whatever they said beforehand whatever text they sent because they were in a relationship that had to be agreed upon. So screw you, Armie Hammer's lawyer, Andrew B. Brettler. And it's incredibly, yeah, those distinctions are incredibly important for the safety of people involved in those relationships.
Starting point is 00:17:58 And it sounds like he was a serial, you know, disrespector. Abuser. Yeah, abuser of those. I asked you if there were Bachelor updates. You said nothing going on. Matt's brother is cool. We were listening to his music yesterday. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:17 I mean, I think the greatest harm done outside of this whole series not understanding race relations or how to have any sort of um sensitivity uh or any sensitive just anything they don't know what they're doing uh is the fact that matt james has not been promoting his brother's raps okay what is that about um there's also promoting john james if that's what he goes by something the zeitgeist needs to get up on is uh bachelor in paradise the australian version um yeah that is you you shared some clips with us of one of the uh one of the more interesting uh on-screen relationships i've ever seen depicted and it's it's not a depiction it's reality um what's his name jamie uh yeah so um jamie i don't even know how to describe it's so hard to describe that's why i i didn't necessarily
Starting point is 00:19:23 want to bring it up but just people need to go check out jane what is it jamie and what's his friend's name tim okay so bachelor in paradise australia it's a spin-off you know of the american version but you know they they have the bachelor bachelorette series in australia as well and they bring contestants from those shows on to bachelor in paradise from last season's bachelorette um we had a few characters come out including tim jamie jamie was known as the stage five clinger jamie is a man they're both men jamie's a 40 year old man tim is a like 27 year old man and jamie is under the impression that tim this 27 year, is his absolute best friend. His ride or die.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Tim is cool with Jamie, but that's not his best friend. So on this show, which I believe is one of the greatest shows on TV. It's amazing. When you bring people who lack self-awareness onto a TV because they're just like hot people who've never really needed to, um, live outside the like hot person bubble, uh, classic Jon Hamm and 30 rock,
Starting point is 00:20:30 uh, you know, shenanigans ensue and it truly becomes television. You have to see to believe. It's like, you're my best friend, man. I am.
Starting point is 00:20:41 I don't want to go on if you're not with me. Yeah. Basically Tim is trying to leave and jamie just starts just absolutely losing it like he can't handle he's like come on man i want to wake up and see you every morning and tim's like it's okay i'm not dying i'm just leaving a reality show we're on and uh this is not relevant to anyone so go check it out people need to check it out yeah it's so good yes i have a relationship that i think is relevant to people everyone's had uh yeah unbalanced friendships and unbalanced
Starting point is 00:21:13 relationships uh where you're where you're tilting one way or the other you know um anyways that is gonna do it for today uh an, thank you so much for joining. Where can people find you and follow you? I'm at Ana Hosni on Twitter. Okay, that's going to do it. We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we'll talk to you all then. Bye. yourselves.
