Starting point is 00:00:12 you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in people who do, like negotiation expert Maury Tahiripour. If you start thinking about negotiations as just a conversation, then I think it sort of eases us a little bit. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:00:30 I'm Jess Costavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and Shekinah Church. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:00:56 or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports. Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry. Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese. Every great player needs a foil. I know I'll go down in history. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports. Listen to the making of a rivalry. Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of iHeart Women's Sports. I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports. Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry. Caitlin Clark versus Angel Reese.
Starting point is 00:01:40 People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game. Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's basketball. And on this new season, we'll cover all things sports and culture. Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio apps, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Trenzo Gracie. Oh, oh. Jits mob. Yeah, yeah. by Diet Coke. with combat as combat sport athletes from brazil they're usually big bolsonaro bolsonaros yeah but yeah anyway bolsonar hose i'm a bolsonar hoe uh over here um anyways well we'll see how that one goes down that's coming up beginning of october i believe um and the army is mobilizing
Starting point is 00:02:43 which is always fun but people people don't always fun but people don't think he has they don't think he has the to get it done which is fortunate anyways you were saying Enzo Gracie just Henzo because in Brazil the R's
Starting point is 00:03:01 are H's so it's spelled like Renzo but it's Henzo so it's Henzo. So it's Henzo Gracie. Or Hoice. It's not Royce. It's Hoice. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Just so you know, you don't want to look like a garacho. Although that is a Spanish word. He put someone to sleep on the subway, you were saying? Yeah, he's kind of a real tough guy on the fucking New York subway, it turns out. Was it over the guy saying he walked out york subway it turns out was it was it over
Starting point is 00:03:25 the guy saying he walked out early of anger management it was because he said he he stopped the first episode of house of the dragon he said he had seen enough the guy's like oh you're a tough guy okay tough guy apparently they said it could have been a racist attack like some dude was being wild racist and then he just like shut this guy down i don't know just yeah you don't just you know just stop saying shit it's problematic on the subway for your own safety hey speaking of problematic uh sarver is trending this is the owner of the phoenix sun and uh also the i believe, the Phoenix WNBA team. Mercury? Yeah, the Phoenix Mercury, I believe.
Starting point is 00:04:10 And the NBA issued a ruling. They're suspending him for one year, fining him for, I don't know the amount. Is it $10 million or something? Yeah, $10 million. This just feels like this would have been a good opportunity for the NBA to... So this dude has been on wax, using racial slurs. He has people who used to work for him have come out and said that it is a very hostile work environment
Starting point is 00:04:46 for people of color. Women. Talking about their bodies and shit. Yeah, just a true slimeball. It feels like this would have been a good opportunity for the NBA to be like, we can make you disappear. We can make you sell the team,
Starting point is 00:05:02 asshole, like we did with the Clippers. I like that policy of just like, we don't want you around anymore. So we're going to make you sell this shit to a better owner. Do we know if he was also dating V Stiviano? There's no record on that. Okay. No dimes were dropped in this instance.
Starting point is 00:05:26 Like what happened to Mr. Sterling with that other team, that lesser team in Los Angeles. I do know that he partook in something that it seems like a lot of these rich, old, white, conservative guys like to do, which is he would show people pictures of his wife in bikinis and shit. Wasn't Alex Jones
Starting point is 00:05:48 all about that? Yes, that was one of the texts. Why are you sending him these pics? Yeah. Anyways. An extension of being a kid who brought a nudie magazine to the schoolyard. Look at this, dude!
Starting point is 00:06:04 Whoa! Poor Chris Paul, man. What's going on with chris paul he'll always i mean he's he's got bad luck i mean not that but like that's two franchises he's been and they're like yo this dude is that's like a rush basura yeah anyways uh well we'll see how the phoenix suns manage like that's another thing like i feel like it's unfair to the phoenix suns to be playing as that cloud yeah with that cloud over them and no promise of it lifting all it does is just delay you know like oh you you have he's coming back and i don't know where as opposed to if he was no longer the owner or was that that shit was put into process like that that feels like it would be a bit of a weight lifted off of the franchise and the players um
Starting point is 00:06:58 not working for a racist and do wonders he was he's involved with a bank right robert sarver i don't like every time i try and find out how these guys like yeah western alliance bank fall asleep because i think he was like he was ousted oh okay he was he like i think because he was also investigated by a western alliance bank that he was like working with and he was retired as executive chairman but i think that was on the heels of them also investigating him be like yo you gotta go come on the nba we can we can do better than uh yeah a bank the always progressive banking industry yeah um speaking of that uh cpi is trending because so for a long time it seemed like wall street was just going to insulate themselves from anything that was happening to
Starting point is 00:07:53 human beings you know they were just like well we're corporations over here and we're gonna be good um but uh possibly because of the ongoing inflation and some new numbers that suggest that inflation is not going down like people were hoping it would. The Wall Street had its worst day today of the year. So unclear as of yet. Hey man, the sun still came out for me. Yeah, I know. I did not notice this, but it's all over the mainstream media. Oh, what's that? We just got laid off?
Starting point is 00:08:26 Oh, damn. Okay, darn. Find us on Patreon. But it's really... I don't know. Again, a lot of following Wall Street, having entire 24-hour news networks devoted to interpreting Wall Street
Starting point is 00:08:43 is like having a 24 hour news network that's all about you know being like the sun gods have smiled on us today friends and right we you know uh the stop the the slot machine report it's like this is all just you know you're you're finding patterns and randomness right which is which is wild because when shit hits the fan it's everybody else that has to deal with it yes which is wild because then it's like man what the fuck do i have to do with that it also makes sense that they are going to blame the eventual wall street crash on people us getting money from the government uh yes or during a time of you know tragic uh and and tragic need yeah they're gonna be like well so the whole damn thing started
Starting point is 00:09:36 because uh the government gave people too much money um which it makes sense that they would want that to be the narrative. Right. The whole thing. First domino was when you revealed that the whole thing was made, made up in 2008, that you were just cutting yourselves wild check. Yeah. It's going to be, I mean, look,
Starting point is 00:09:57 they're like, well, look, we crossed the million death threshold and I thought we just, we called it a day after that. Right. Yeah. A million people died?
Starting point is 00:10:06 And counting? Golden Eye is trending. Good news. Jack, you know. I mean, I know. Tell them. This is huge news for me as the foremost Switch head
Starting point is 00:10:21 in the United States. Coming to Nintendo Switch and Xbox. Golden Eye in the United States. Coming to Nintendo Switch and Xbox. Golden Eye, the video game that dominated dorm rooms and high school experiences.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Is coming back in 4K. I don't know. I've not played a lot of games that are ported from N64 over to a new thing. I don't know i i've not played a lot of games that are like ported from like n64 over to a new thing and like yeah i don't really know what sure this wasn't a port it's a recreation i guess i would say right a recreation but they're not gonna change the graphics i'm assuming no no no no it's gonna look like how it looked but just better frame rate and shit like that yeah yeah so uh which is man i would because it's like one of those fucking games where it's like mario kart where there was a period in time where like every person i knew was just literate in it yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:11:16 and you didn't even need to be a gamer you're like fine let's just go proximity mines in the monoculture yeah Exactly. I will probably watch an esports tournament with competitive GoldenEye. That would be fun to watch. Yeah. What it looks like at a professional level. I've only seen me in my backyard
Starting point is 00:11:41 throwing the basketball at the rim level. You played your whole life. The only thing you knew about basketball was like what you could do in your backyard and then you like turn around and watch the nba you're like whoa what the fuck that is that is very different hold on how did that guy get his hands on the rim okay and that's how loud i mean i guess i probably can't golly gosh something else something else is going on but yeah brian producer brian asked a good question about the controls i don't know because that like three thing three pronged three pronged trident that we tried to use as a controller yeah I don't know
Starting point is 00:12:26 I'm sure they can simplify it but anyway that's for the switch gods to figure out speaking of gods Tom Brady, Giselle Bunchen this is so Brady retired then unretired in the off season
Starting point is 00:12:41 and it's always interesting when the player retires to be with their family and then unretires. And it's kind of an unspoken thing to not be with your family. Yeah. Spent a couple weeks with the family
Starting point is 00:13:00 and was like, oh, no. Yeah. I've made a terrible mistake. But you rarely hear about the reality but because they're both like uber uber paparazzi level famous um we do get to see that that was not she did not take too kindly to that decision uh she fled to costa rica after Costa Rica after an epic fight with him after he decided to return to the NFL in his old age. And since that report, nobody has done anything to be like, no, we're good. Like, here's a family picture we just took.
Starting point is 00:13:37 She flew back to Florida to see her kid, but did not stay at their house. So it looks like things are rocky right yeah I mean that guy's I don't know I couldn't imagine how boring it must be to be married to Tom Brady
Starting point is 00:13:56 right you've just got retirement in the offing and that's when things are going to be cool. And then you're like, oh, man. Who knows if that's on him? She may have been like, bro, fuck this guy. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Every conversation is so dry. I can't handle this motherfucker. I'm going to Costa Rica. The retirement effect on marriage is something. There was a story a couple years back somewhere, maybe like the New York Times, about how women in Japan were leaving their husbands once they retired because they were like,
Starting point is 00:14:32 I can't deal with having this motherfucker around all the time. I don't think that's just Japan, man. I know a lot of people who... Dude, it was so wild. I remember my aunt in japan they would fight so much yeah she would just be like god shut up
Starting point is 00:14:52 talking about shit i was like this is hilarious but that was kind of their dynamic rest in peace of both of them but yeah like that is very real shit um But I can only imagine, again, what this guy is talking about. The thing that everybody knows about Tom Brady is that he is so focused on only football to the point that he doesn't eat anything. Every meal is focused on getting back to the Super Bowl, which is inhuman and probably, like you said, very boring to be around and you know super producer brian was like does he have any hobbies yeah his hobbies are going to the beach and throwing the throwing slinging the ball around with his pals like that you hear famous people tell the story like i've heard multiple famous people tell the story about
Starting point is 00:15:42 yeah man i was like down in flor, found out Tom Brady was there, hit him up. And he was like, yeah, come down to the beach. And he threw the football to me. So like, even when he's like hanging out with celebrities,
Starting point is 00:15:53 he's just like, all right, so I want you to run out and do a deep, deep post. Yeah. Oh, okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:00 And, uh, and they're like, and it hurts really badly because he throws it 40 miles per hour oh what the fuck tom fuck me up i just like there's it's funny on in us weekly they have they just published their most heartfelt quotes about their relationship because i'm like honestly aside from him he's probably like yeah she's so beautiful i love her you know it's like great mother my kids and then like uh god bless her you know she's out here just from brazil and shit learning english love it um i'm
Starting point is 00:16:35 trying to know what the fuck they talk about and let's see bunchen reflected on learning about what the fuck about bridget moynihan his ex two months into our relationship tom tom told me that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant the very next day the news was everywhere and i felt like my world had been turned upside down uh that's not like a good wait so what are you saying oh she noted it was like a bonus child and made my heart expand in ways i didn't know was possible yeah i mean she was working hard from the beginning to, you know, make room for this man. And that shit gets exhausting, I'm sure. Yeah. But anyway, let's take a quick break. We'll be right back.
Starting point is 00:17:18 I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and LA-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades. Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high control groups and interview dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine. Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling firsthand accounts,
Starting point is 00:17:58 the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives. Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration. It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Gianna Pradente.
Starting point is 00:18:21 And I'm Jemay Jackson-Gadsden. We're the hosts of Let's Talk Offline, a new podcast from LinkedIn News and iHeart Podcasts. When you're just starting out in your career, you have a lot of questions. Like, how do I speak up when I'm feeling overwhelmed? Or, can I negotiate a higher salary if this is my first real job?
Starting point is 00:18:39 Girl, yes. Each week, we answer your unfiltered work questions. Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in experts who do, like resume specialist Morgan Saner. The only difference between the person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets the job is usually who applies. Yeah, I think a lot about that quote.
Starting point is 00:19:00 What is it, like you miss 100% of the shots you never take? Yeah, rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting yourself. Together, we'll share what it really takes to thrive in the early years of your career without sacrificing your sanity or sleep. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that.
Starting point is 00:19:28 I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session, 24 hours. BPM 110, 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything?
Starting point is 00:19:57 You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. How do you feel about biscuits? Hi, I'm Akilah Hughes, and I'm so excited about my new podcast, Rebel Spirit,
Starting point is 00:20:29 where I head back to my hometown in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot, the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves, the biscuits. I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean? The Boone County Rebels will stay the Boone County Rebels with the image of the biscuits. It's right here in black and white in the prints. A lion. An individual that came to the school saying that God sent him to talk to me about the mascot switch. As a leader, you choose hills that you want to die on.
Starting point is 00:20:57 Why would we want to be the losing team? I'd just take all the other stuff out of it. On segregation academies, when civil rights said that we need to integrate public schools, these charter schools were exempt from that. Bigger than a flag or mascot. You have to be ready for serious backlash. Listen to Rebel Spirit on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. And the Redeem team, which people may remember the 2008?
Starting point is 00:21:35 Was it the 2008? Yeah, because it's 2004 where we took the massive L train. Massive L. 2008 was the team that had Kobe, had LeBron, it was the first Coach K led team. It's significant for a number of reasons.
Starting point is 00:21:58 One, it did after losing in 2004, the U.S. regained the gold. It had the best players in the, the U.S. regained the gold. It had the best players in the NBA, like, period. And it was also where LeBron, Wade, and Bosh started hanging out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:15 And decided that they were going to get together in a couple years and make the Heetles, you know? And it was also, a lot of people say, significant because people saw kobe bryant work like they it got all these guys who were the best in the league together and kobe bryant worked twice as hard as them right they were like oh and so lebron credits that experience with like him becoming you know I'm tired of watching y'all lose
Starting point is 00:22:48 it's like oh shit yeah bro it ain't casual Fridays in here there are no casual Fridays there's no casual nothing I like it's like the same people that did the last dance so it has I'm gonna be so nostalgic for it
Starting point is 00:23:04 gave me goosebumps there's a who threw that alley-oop to him i don't know but yeah there's an alley-oop in the trailer if you want to go watch the trailer like i that that is very very exciting and people have said the game the championship the gold medal game with spain is one of the best you know it was duane wade olympic games of all time. I remember Dwayne Wade came back the next season and he had looked like he was maybe fading a little bit and came back the next season
Starting point is 00:23:31 and was one of the three best players in the league. I think that's what a lot of people talk about with this documentary. Even with Krzyzewski being like, and then we recruited Kobe Bryant. You didn't recruit Kobe Bryant. You're like, we got to win. Let's put together a shameless all-star like yeah you should put the strongest like they had to sell people on on joining up because like the right whole olympic dream team
Starting point is 00:23:57 thing the the star had faded a little bit so um yeah i'm excited for this one uh yeah not not shockingly i mean i'm excited for this one minnesota's trending what happened what's going on oh man uh minnesota's trending we talked about i think i feel like we touched on this there was like this this bill in the minnesota senate um where basically like legalized thc like laden edibles you know like not just delta eight which is like a minor cannabinoid there's like thc delta nine which is the thing that does the heavy lifting for you for you to get that feeling of being lifted um and they basically okayed uh like products that were infused with this not like smokable cannabis but just hey you can infuse edibles capsules chocolates
Starting point is 00:24:45 drinks whatever uh and it passed and everyone's like what the fuck even one of the uh republicans who like signed off on the bill was like wait we didn't just legalize weed did we and it just it's another it's just a moment i just want to play this local news uh like broadcast where they talk about how they're like it just passed and it turns out none of these motherfuckers read the bill which is there's a good prelude to what i'm gonna talk about what actually happened and you might be surprised to learn not one lawmaker asked even one question about the thc level they were about to legalize then it goes into like an eight minute investigative piece so that has some puns in it oh yeah there was high interest in the new products uh but yeah i think because
Starting point is 00:25:34 of it now like there was a story in vice about how like the thc seltzer wars are like beginning or just like in minnesota because of the way the alcohol like regulation board is there if you're like if you're like a micro brewer like usually are selling six packs direct to consumer so you're kind of already like on a lean operation where that infrastructure is basically like oh yeah i can start making weed seltzers they legalize lean no no no i know come on you said a lean operation i know come on man come on man just good jokes that i'm doing over here i'm like wait lean jack you've been activists or what promethazine um but the the people have given quotes like it's the wild west right now in
Starting point is 00:26:18 minnesota with like these uh drinks and stuff but they in this vice piece they talk about how like it can contain certain levels but oversight quote oversight is entirely down to the board of pharmacy a 23 person government agency that usually focuses on pharmaceuticals and only deals with consumer complaints after the fact the board doesn't have its own labs to test for compliance and the only guidance they have given to the police for enforcement is a checklist for inspections so manufacturers have no real incentive to comply uh and because of it you know i'm sure there's like been a ton of stuff that's the police for enforcement is a checklist for inspections so manufacturers have no real incentive to comply uh and because of it you know i'm sure there's like been a ton of stuff that's like
Starting point is 00:26:50 mislabeled way more potent than it actually is etc but it's just funny how a moment where a lot of republicans were like looking the other way they're like oh oh and it's going up in minnesota we don't know fox news didn't tell us what to think about this one. I don't know what THC is. Is that like a CRT type thing? F2 racism? The Emmys happened last night. Did you watch?
Starting point is 00:27:17 Nope. I just got... Me neither. I just saw tweets. And I'm like, good. Brown people winning. All right. Back to my sleep cycle. But I saw jimmy kimmel was trending but i didn't even bother to look but yeah jimmy kimmel was trending because
Starting point is 00:27:31 he like did a bit with will arnett i think where they came out and will arnett implied jimmy kimmel was drunk and then he like passed out as they were announcing the winner, which ended up being Quinta Brunson. And so she literally had to step over Jimmy Kimmel to give her acceptance speech. With human detritus on the stage? Yeah. People were like, very appropriate visual metaphor for what it took for her to get to that position. Yep.
Starting point is 00:28:06 I don't know. Just weird to keep the bit going during someone's acceptance speech who is, you know, it is a significant achievement. And yeah, maybe not the best time to be like, to stick with the commitment to the bit, you know? Well, whatever. I choose to look at Jimmy Kim to the bit you know well whatever i choose to look at jimmy kimmel as you know ty lue and quinta's ai stepping over his stinking ass there you go even though look i don't like the uniforms involved with that but it is a powerful moment it is yeah um all right let's uh
Starting point is 00:28:41 that that those are some of the things let's go let's go those are some let's go those are some of the things that are trending on this tuesday afternoon we are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show until then be kind to each other be kind to yourselves get the vaccine don't do nothing about white supremacy and we'll talk to y'all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church.
