For years, the Un-House has been presented as a monolith in mainstream media. Weedian House is a podcast that's changing the narrative. I'm Theo Henderson, and I created the show why I was Un-Housed on the streets of Los Angeles. We've grown into a two-time Webby Award-winning podcast, the only podcast that shares Un-House stories and news from the Un-House perspective. Listen to Weythian House on the I-House.
Starting point is 00:01:01 hard radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. We've all been there. We've had seasons that have shaken everything. The question is, what remains when the shaking stops? Hi, I'm Gary Valenzheno. And on my podcast, Unshaken with Gary V, I sit down with amazing personalities and we talk about the seasons that nearly broke them, the lows that carried them to their highs.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Listen to Unshaken with Gary V on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Can superstars even exist the way they used to? 2016 was sort of that last era of monoculture, where we still consume things in community. Everybody wanted to be Beyonce at that point. I don't think we'll ever see another beyond. What does it mean to be black and eat in America? You will never make me feel bad for being a black girl, for being a black girl. for being a black American girl ever.
Starting point is 00:02:02 From music to food to the conversations shaping black culture right now, therapy for black girls is bringing it all to the mic. Listen to therapy for black girls on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of the weekly zeitgeist. These are some of our favorite segments from this week, all edited together into one non-stop infotainment. laugh stravaganza.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Uh, yeah. So without further ado, here is the weekly zeitgeist. What is something from your search history that is revealing about who you are? So I don't know if anyone else has ever had this happen, but you can get rate limited on Google. If you use it too much, they start giving you like captures. You have to click, it's like, click on the bikes. And that's because I use Google like a, uh, database. a base search for my own newsletter because I've got about
Starting point is 00:03:03 one and a half million words on there now. And so you just do like site colon, where's your ed, dot, and then a word. And it works really well, but I use it so much, it breaks Google sometimes. Yeah. And it just, they slow it down to a crawl. Then they're like, okay,
Starting point is 00:03:18 motherfucker, you want to keep using this fine. We're just going to capture you every single search. So yeah, I have this unhealthy relationship with Google. They're like, you sounds like you need an enterprise account. They're like, what the fuck? No, they don't even offer anything special like that. It's just purely because you are
Starting point is 00:03:34 using their free service too much. They're like, all right, this guy's really making work. This guy's going to get this guy off of Google. Honestly, I would probably pay for it. Is it easier than to actually just search on like your CMS or something for like a word? Well, the thing is you can't really search a CMS
Starting point is 00:03:52 like that. You can't because I mean, there's 500 odd articles now. Sure, sure. And especially when it comes to a very specific phrase that I use, which I have a pretty good memory for everything I've said, but not exactly where I've said it. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:10 And so, yeah, I just have this unhealthy relationship with Google. Right. It's great. I mean, someone at Google just heard you say that and is like, we got to figure out a way to charge him for that. We're going to get this bad boy on. I'm not some tokens, my guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:28 If only that would work. It's like the one thing that we're. be useful for LLMs and you can't really do that. Right. Is it the best thing that the internet has created for us? Your thoughts, and go? I would say so.
Starting point is 00:04:41 I think Google is like the Library of Alexandria. I think in its purest form, it was something genuinely magical. I think it's kind of a maligned version now, especially with AI overview. Yeah, it's worse. They've been trying to break it for over a decade. They've been trying to break it since 2019.
Starting point is 00:04:58 I did a whole story about the man who killed Google Search. that was fun, hateful, hateful man, Breabagabat. But nevertheless, there is, I think that, and honestly, Reddit, Reddit, I've kind of turned around because you have, TDZ is a pretty good, like, active red air. And I have my, I have what I like to call Zitron Truth Social.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Because I met R slash Better Offline when it started was three guys who just shit on the show. Like, that's a stupid, I hate this. And as I got better at the show I just read that was so excited. No, no, I was just like, I got in there and argued with them as the show got better. I'm like, you need to listen to me.
Starting point is 00:05:40 I went on an ar slash behind the bastards and did the same thing when people dunked on the show. You don't know what you're talking about. What do you mean? And I then like maybe a week into its life, the guy who made the suburb, it was like, do you want this? I don't want to read this.
Starting point is 00:05:55 He was like very nice, but he was like, I'm like, no, absolutely. And now we get like, like 180,000 people a week. Yeah, that's amazing. It's absolutely, it rules. But Reddit is magical. Like, Reddit actually is the closest I've found to the best of forums.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Yeah, sure. But you have to, like, aggressively moderate it. Yeah, you got to know how to get through it. And I like moderating because I'm a freak. God bless you. No, it's a good place and just, it's it's itron truth social. It's where I drop myself. It's interesting to see how, like, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:30 Because a lot of the times, too, I'll be like, you know, there's like subreddits for like, buy it for life where it's like really well made things where it's like, I only want to buy one fucking fan, like a box fan or like a knife or something. And it's interesting to see how brands have to like are completely changing like tactics to sort of like karma farm on Reddit. So then they can post in these subredits to like get like their brand to sort of seem like an organic post because they're starting to realize a lot of people, especially when you look at like how Google will auto complete. Like, you'll ask a question, I'll be like, Reddit? You want to throw Reddit on the end of that? I do a lot of site colon, Reddit.com searches. Well, one of my draconian rules of my subreddit is no karma farming. If I see someone posting the same thing in my subreddit and anywhere else, banned, deleted.
Starting point is 00:07:20 There you go. Phantom zone. Oh, I have the don't be an asshole rule, which is just, and it's literally just like, however I feel about a person. Sounds tracodian. It is. Don't be an asshole to me. It really is that simple.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And people are like, you can't ban me. You can't do that. I'm like, buddy, I'm doing it right now. Welcome to my fucking feastom. Just did it. Just did it, friend. Lacey, what is something you think is overrated? I think it's overrated to hate on Love Island.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Okay. Like, it's a fun anthropological study. It's giving a Stanford prison experiment. It's giving us like, you know, what if we got just like the hottest, youngest little babies? We put them on an island. We sleep deprive them. They suck each other's feet. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:08 We only give them gas-inducing food. So like avocados eggs. I just started watching from being a hater. Or not a hater, being ambivalent. You just converted. He was on Hague Island. And I love island. No, but I mean, I remember just being like, there's too many episodes.
Starting point is 00:08:26 But my friends who I was saying with it, like, just start watching. Like, you know enough trash TV that you're going to get it. Yeah. And by the end of it, I'm like, fuck is up with Corbyn, bro. He's kind of boring as fuck, man. And every now and then he, like, it feels like he gets a new download, like a update. You know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:42 He's robotic. He's robotic. He's a lot of me. He got the jokes update. You know what I mean? Like, he's learning kung fu. Yes. But I feel like when people try to be too, like, highfalutin about it, I'm like, there is something really
Starting point is 00:08:52 interesting about seeing how these people behave, like, seeing how you. you act under a microscope. And I try to be very forgiving because they treat them like they're like my little Sims. Sure. Like, yeah, they're human beings. They're real people,
Starting point is 00:09:03 which is why I say like my little Sims because they're in this environment where they're being overly produced. They're being kind of hinted and pushed and nudge to do things. And they're editing in a certain way to make them a character of themselves. So we haven't met or seen any of these people truly.
Starting point is 00:09:20 I'll be real. I say it when I was watching 90 day a lot. People are like, why do you watch that show? And I'm like, it's really interesting. Like in terms of like human. behavior. In my brain, I'm going, what the fuck are they doing?
Starting point is 00:09:30 What the fuck? This person dumb as fuck. Yeah. Clips that you're coming in and sharing with us are not the ones where it's interesting from a sociological perspective. It's a guy who's like, I have gonorrhea. And I'm like, dude, he got gonorrhea. And he said it in a accent.
Starting point is 00:09:46 He keeps saying it. But the thing is, it's like, we have to say that as people with, if you have any kind of platform, I don't want to hate to reach you when you leave the villa. But yeah, it's like with high closed doors and we talk. Then I'm like, are you serious? I'm like, how did you get through nursing school? I never want to see his person in the ER.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Reality TV has been very bad for the reputation of nursing school. Because there are a lot of nurses that are acting. On different shows and not even just this season of Love Island or like The Bachelor or all these places where I keep seeing people say that they graduated from nursing school. And I'm like, I know you still got to take the Inplex and everything, but I'm like, how did y'all get through these people's nurses school? Yeah. I'm like, let me see you read this EKG real quick.
Starting point is 00:10:28 Like, what you're talking about gratitude, but you're a cardiac? A cardiothoracic nurse? Bro. I was like, why y'all got my calf circles? I thought I was going in front of my past. They're like, why are you right? Who is Lucy Monroe? Why'd you write this on my arm?
Starting point is 00:10:46 Oh, is that not you? That's not your name? Oh, okay, wipe that off. Wipe that off. We got the wrong patient. Like, why you got emojis all here? Like, you can't do like shorthand text on my arm. And you spit to rub it off?
Starting point is 00:10:58 Yeah, that's all right. I got that. Talking about L-O-L. No, it's because we was laughing earlier when we were going to do the trachea-me. Yeah, we're about to change your whole voice box out. What is the differentiating? Because, like, I'm kind of all reality TV is like a blur to me
Starting point is 00:11:16 because I don't spend time. Wow. So you better. my mind with that. See, better to know. See, here it goes. Wow. What is Love Island?
Starting point is 00:11:24 Like, what's different about Love Island from other reality shows? Well, it's the frequency. Yeah. A. Okay. Damn near. Is it every day? How many days of weeks?
Starting point is 00:11:32 So it's, um, every day except for they get one day off. Okay. And, um, it's also like, like they air. Well, I think they might, they get one or two days off. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And there's like one day where it's not airing, but they have an after sun show. which shows you clips and people who just got kicked off the island. So it's almost in real time. Like, it's only a couple days delayed. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:11:56 but the thing that gets people, right, is that the whole point is that you have to pair off to survive. Like you need a person to pick you to be their partner because it's like musical chairs. There's always be like an odd person out. And if that's you, then you're gone.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Oh. So it becomes this thing of like love bombing, pretending you like someone tactically to stay on the show. Pretending you like multiple people. Yeah. That's not who I like, but that's the person who's most likely to choose me. So I'm going to go with them and be a sociopath and make them choose me.
Starting point is 00:12:25 To I can. Yeah. Which is a metaphor for life. Right. But there's a certain way that you can do it where it looks like, okay, this person is playing the game. Maybe these people don't really like each other, but they're going to stay coupled up because they want to win. And then sometimes you have people come into the social experiment and they're like, like after this, we should just take them to prison. Like I want to leave the building.
Starting point is 00:12:47 He even cubs. We actually do not need you in society. Like I'm talking habitual, pathological liars who literally will lie to everyone. People they don't even have to lie to. There's one guy on this season, sincere. He literally lies to everyone,
Starting point is 00:13:02 including America. Like, I feel some type of way. Like, he lies to the women, he lies to the men, and then he goes into the booth and he looks directly in the camera
Starting point is 00:13:09 and lies to me. And I'm like, why you lie to me? Right. That's all he knows. It's all he knows. You got to stay sharp. Yeah, but so it's different
Starting point is 00:13:16 because you get so. much more of it. And so you kind of get to spend a little part of your summer watching your little Sims. It also feels like it feels like high school drama where you're like, oh, he's with him and then I just saw him with this other girl. And she doesn't know about it. Wait until she finds out and you're like
Starting point is 00:13:31 ooh, it's. Yeah. Yeah. It's one of the few reality shows where if you're lucky on your season, or if we're lucky on your season, we'll get to watch movie night where they start replaying all the stuff you've been doing that nobody else's the scene. And so now everyone's sitting next to each other. And receipt day. And you,
Starting point is 00:13:47 receipt date and you got to watch like basically CVS receipts of your lies come out and you're sitting there next to all the people you lied to like that's crazy the editing is wild yeah i'm getting a bad at it i'm getting the bad they're wilding huh is fifa in charge of this shit right fucking corrupt all right i'm in i think are you going to watch are you going to try it yeah does your wife no do she deal in such frivolous activities She hasn't in a while. Maybe I could bring her back in. Yeah. Yeah. She's going to think something's wrong with you if you're like, babe, what if you watch love? I'm just like, what the fuck is wrong with you?
Starting point is 00:14:26 We need to see a counselor? Do you just say that? Yeah. But then I'm going to pitch it. You guys taught me how to pitch it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:34 The anthropological study. You got to go. Yeah. Yeah. And they come in unpaired. They come in unpaired and immediately have to pair. Oh, and they make them kiss a lot. That might gross you out.
Starting point is 00:14:45 There's a lot of, there's a lot of. There's a lot of kissing. No, no, you don't understand. It's a kind of kissing. It's like, too much kissing. It's like, now, kiss. Yeah, it ain't Tyson. And the microphones are so close to, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:00 So there's a lot of. Those like NBA mics that are in the way they kiss. I was watching and I was like looking at her match and I'm like, bro, who kisses like that? Right. It's so much tongue. Yeah. And it's like tongue forward in a way of like, how we just. A very tongue forward.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Can we start with some lip? Yeah. I feel like you're supposed to start with a little lip. Is that a generational thing? Like, we're used to smooching first. Well, you know, these were the COVID kids. Yeah, yeah, exactly. So they, you know, they weren't getting much smooch practice in person.
Starting point is 00:15:27 They, you know. And they just don't know what to do. So much. Yeah, there's a lot of foot looking this season. So much. Yeah. There's so many challenges like, make out as hot as you can.
Starting point is 00:15:38 And they're like foot 69ing suddenly. And I'm like, what the fuck is this? We didn't ask for that. I've not heard of yuck anybody's yum. But we have told them to lay off. We were like, get this. foot out of that man's mouth. He don't need that. Okay. Like, he's done enough. Or like, sometimes there are women
Starting point is 00:15:50 licking dudes for you? No. I'm like, do you like that? Are you doing it for the fucking, mm-mm. I'm looking a man's most things are, you know, you need to be like, get in the shower first. The foot? Absolutely not. No, but yeah, but they kiss like they're about to take the first bite of like a giant hamburger.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Oh. You're so fucking hungry. Yeah, I'm not going to make the sounds because I know people have misophonia, but it's just, sometimes it's a lot of snorps. Yeah. It sounds like surgical. Yeah. What is something you think is overrated, Andrew T? I think at this point, we got to say, I'm sure you guys talked about this already, but like, I, and this is a tweet that somewhere along the line I saw yesterday or today before, but like, how the fuck does TMZ DC, how the fuck are they not cracked whether Mitch McConnell is alive?
Starting point is 00:16:37 Yeah. Anyone, any journalist. Yeah. Like, what is, where are they keeping him that you can't get in there, that you can't talk to the people? He has a secret service detail, like, stationed, right? I mean, I can understand it, but he still has, like, nurses. Yeah, there's still people who don't, who are the workers that you can be like, hey, bro, what's going on in there, bro?
Starting point is 00:16:58 How much you want? Three grand, five grand? Four bucks? Yeah. Yeah. I guess it's true. I guess, I guess, as producer Catherine started pointing out, he could easily be in a place where he actually doesn't need much attending to.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Except from a mortician. Right. Right. We may have focused his needs down to a single. A single need. But on a little makeup, makeup. Yeah, I'm just like, though, I mean, come on. Let's go, guys.
Starting point is 00:17:28 I cannot believe the discipline in this, in all honesty. Right. I'm genuinely a little surprised. It's tough. Yeah, it's hard to say. We used to be a country. Yeah. We used to be able to find out about the president.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Dude, getting a blow job from an intern. People knew. Can't even find out those motherfuckers dead. People who died found out they died before they died from TMZ. That's right. And somehow this is like the most. This says I'm dead. Opaic black box in American history that we can't fucking get any idea about.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Yeah. Just fucking odd. I mean, I guess the one thing is it's like compared to Trump, like McConnell actually did seem to know what he was doing. His machine seems to be actually competent. So maybe that's what's happening is they actually are unlocked. They've been ready for this. They've had, you know, a whole medical staff swore to secrecy ready to go. But.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. I'm just surprised. I'm just surprised that we don't know one way or the other for real. Right. Because, like, also, it's not just Democrats who would need, would like to know if he was incapacitated.
Starting point is 00:18:38 Like, also the mega wing is trying to get somebody in there to replace. him with somebody who's like far, far, right? So there's multiple interests who want to find this shit out. And this motherfucker is just... He's just on it. On it. People are on it. And almost a shell of protection.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Maybe he'll be the first senator to upload his consciousness to an AI and continue to be an office. Phil's kind of in line. He comes out as just one of those iPads on a segue. Exactly. Moving forward. But still like blanking out when being asked. questions and falling over. It's like, it's the same consciousness.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Yeah, I can see that. I mean, I think that's maybe what it is. It's like he's uploaded, but it's still like current gen AI. So like it's maybe like a wee bit more liberal. We need like five more months to dial this thing in, man. Yeah. He's still like into the idea of like parity and equity. Yeah, we need training data.
Starting point is 00:19:33 It's more of a training data issue than a, he's not enough of a Nazi somehow. Yeah. And we tried. We had all the information. We fed it all kinds of wacky shit, man. But the entire internet. Regular Twitter. And he's still not as much of a Nazi as he actually is.
Starting point is 00:19:52 I don't know. I'm just saying, I'm, you know, whether to put it in under or over. I'm surprised. It is reflective of TMZ not, like being off there. Like that is who is holding the L on this one. I feel like a really good con man could find out. Yeah. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:20:13 It doesn't feel like you're breaking into NORAD or some shit or area 51. It's like, dude, put on a fucking smock. Get a fake badge. You're doing your rounds. Sorry, I'm just doing the rounds. Yeah, I'm actually, I'm the new intern. Just like, oh, who's in this room? Oh, sorry, I didn't know you're in there.
Starting point is 00:20:29 And then be like, he did. This is so doable. This is more doable than almost anything. And the reason I'm signaling out TMZ is like, they just have no compunction. Like, there's no ethical line for them. No, no, no, no. So, like, as they prove. They'll be like, hey, you want to see their death, like, the room they died in?
Starting point is 00:20:49 Here's a photos, dude. There's a whole full 3D video. Death mask. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway. I'm just going in there. I'm in a blue smock.
Starting point is 00:20:57 I've got one of those metal cans that they spray for pests with. Yeah. And I'm just going all around his body. Sorry. Just, uh, just here to spray for pests. Spraying for ants. You just got to fucking, you got to, you got to, You got those meta glasses on.
Starting point is 00:21:11 They're just blinking. Yeah. What's their glasses, buddy? They protect my eyes from the fumigation stuff. Yeah, that's right. Let's take a quick break. We'll come back. We'll talk about a new, a new type of asshole.

Starting point is 00:24:32 Yeah, here we are. Each week, you'll get my hot takes on the news and insider knowledge and insights from my smart friends and colleagues. Starting point is 00:25:13 Blake, so, first of all, congratulations. Since we saw you last, you welcomed. two beautiful children into the world. You had twins. Two babies. Wow. Big ups. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:26 Thank you. Then I just began, like after, obviously you and I checking in like, oh, how's it been? Has it been? Then I just saw your shit popping up on Reddit. I saw your face popping up on TikTok. I saw your face popping up on blogs.
Starting point is 00:25:41 One post was just called Dear Baby Girl Twin A was the name of a blog post I saw. And I look and it's your face. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Blake, can you just break down just kind of briefly? What, what, why did you become a sort of news item, um, recently as it related to the birth of your twin children? Yeah. It's, uh, thank you for asking.
Starting point is 00:26:03 It's so I'm still not even quite sure what happened, but I, uh, posted video because we have, uh, we're so fortunate to have United healthcare. And I think, and by we, I mean humanity. I think the whole world is very fortunate that it, that it exists. Yeah. And, uh, we had. twins and they're they're all good perfectly healthy but often twins wind up in the niqueu because you know they they come early blah blah blah so we ended up getting a letter sorry by we this is it's we didn't that's the whole fucking weird thing is that so health care companies
Starting point is 00:26:36 deny claims all that it's their favorite thing to do they deny them all the time it's it's their main so they just more than their only coverage yeah yeah correct yeah they they're a health care deniers we're in the declining coverage business actually. We're not in the healthcare business. Yeah. It's all they do. So we got a letter.
Starting point is 00:26:54 So that wasn't, if it was just a letter saying that like we're denying health care coverage to your baby, I'd be like, well, that's not a surprise. That's what they do. But they didn't send it to me the grown up. They sent it to the baby and didn't use the baby's name called the baby, baby girl to win A and told her that they were not going to cover her stay in the hospital. And so I posted, like, that was the fun, like the tragically funny thing. And I'm like, this is so fuck that they can't even, they're sending it to a child. And that was her first experience in the world. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:28 Yeah. Just baby girl twin. And then I'm like, oh, that's, like, oh, that's. Yeah, baby girl twin. Right, right, right. And even that, I'm like, because we don't want to like post photos of them. We don't want their names out there. I've never been a parent before.
Starting point is 00:27:41 So like, I'm like, I want their privacy. So even this, I'm like, fuck, should I even post anything about them at all? you know and then um i'm like this will get like 300 000 views and i will be that that would be so like crazy if it gets that and then i think it got up to like 25 million i'm getting like texts from uh like CNN and NBC nightly news i don't know how they have my number and that's another thing it was just a big fucked thing oh it was for me okay cool yeah i keep i kept reaching out to them i'm like i know that i know blake wexon he comes on this podcast all the time time is called Daily Zag Guys, you guys, you can check it out.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Anyway, you need a number or something? I can have a 10 bucks for give you his number. Yeah, what's up, dude? You got Crystal Light? It's where's that you substituted all the ads on episodes for a week with my kid's social security numbers. That was really strange that you did that. Yeah, that was really weird.
Starting point is 00:28:32 There was another fucked up thing where Newsweek had reached out to United Health Care and posted in an article information that we did not approve about like the children, which was crazy. And so United Health Care. after all this told Newsweek that they were paying for the health care, but never told us. So I don't know what's happening. So it seems like it. Yeah, because when I texted you, you said you learned from that article that United was like, oh, no, no, they're not on the hook for that.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Right. But you, as it stands, you've not heard from United personally. Have they followed up with your twin baby girl eight? Yeah, yeah. Check her. They keep waking her up in her nap. They actually, yeah, they're trying to resell her diapers to make money off of them. Yeah, so I don't know where, I mean, like, there's, I don't know like what I can talk with what I can.
Starting point is 00:29:30 I mean, who fucking cares. But yeah, I mean, obviously don't, don't put any. No, no, no, no. Litigation at risk by you're talking about it on a podcast. It's also so hard to use their app where I'm like, is this is this, is this. What is. I don't know what anything means. It's so crazy.
Starting point is 00:29:47 Yeah. Anyway. It's all by design. So how are baby Maria and Luija doing right now? Yeah. They're great. That's been the bet. They're amazing.
Starting point is 00:29:57 That's so sweet of your ass. Thanks, Elizabeth. Yeah, they're great. Yeah. And you do, you, never mind. I was going to say. Who were you going to say? Yeah, nothing.
Starting point is 00:30:06 We can cut it. No, I was going to say you have a mobile of Luigi Mangione hanging up above the that. That is the craziest thing is like every single comment on those videos. Dude, I saw the comments were wild on your video. It was all exactly what you would think it would be. And one funny note is like, I've been complaining to my therapist for years that I need a viral video to get followers because that's all standup. Matt, like all for stand up.
Starting point is 00:30:30 That's how you get booked. You need fucking followers. That's what your therapy is about to do. Yeah. I need a goddamn crowdwork clip to go viral. Fuck. The fucking entertainment industry. It's not a merit based thing anymore.
Starting point is 00:30:41 Of course, I think I have merit, which is also fucking bullshit. But I was like, I'm sorry. And I finally... I don't think these sessions are actually doing anything. You know, I hate to bring this up. What's the point of these sessions? I don't have a single viral fucking post yet.
Starting point is 00:30:53 I don't have a single viral video. And then I finally get what I immediately call her up. I'm like, I'm having a fucking panic attack. I finally get what I want, like, quote unquote, want. And I can't handle it emotionally. Not that like I have some big standing or anything. But yeah, heavy lies the crown, man.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Heavy lies. Most importantly, yeah, the babies are good and so. Yeah. Well, thank you for asking. Luckily, luckily this is happening in an environment where no one has any sympathy
Starting point is 00:31:20 for a fucking healthcare company. Yeah, it's just 100% heads on fire, anger towards that. I like how people were like, everyone can relate to it. They're like, well,
Starting point is 00:31:30 look, like legally, their names aren't baby girl twin A, so probably doesn't apply to them. I was like, I like that very superficial logic, but that's not how that works in this country. That's like some sovereign citizens.
Starting point is 00:31:41 Yeah, yeah, right. It doesn't apply. So, I actually don't. don't answer to that name. And no takebacks.
Starting point is 00:31:47 So there you go. No takebacks is so funny. My children were merely transiting through the hospital. So they were not staying in the legal definition. Well, good to know that so far, all is well. That ends well. I guess we should also, in the healthcare world, we should talk about the biohacker, Brian Johnson, who we all look up to who, you know, he's, I think 48 now.
Starting point is 00:32:13 And like I said, every time we look at it. Downwards. Yeah, yeah. He's 48. Honestly, he doesn't look a day over 49 when you look at him, which is great, which is great. I think for people, I feel like most of us know who he is. If you listen to this show, we talk about him a lot because this guy has, would spend like millions of dollars annually to like explore all kinds of anti-aging technologies, including like having his son's blood and like measuring his boners to make sure he's like, all right. Good.
Starting point is 00:32:43 I'm dying. Normal family stuff. Yeah, yeah. Did you do yours too, son? Okay. Let's do them together, boy. All right. Yep.
Starting point is 00:32:52 It's like the Mike Johnson School of Health. Yeah, yeah, exactly. With covenant eyes. My son's in a rebellious phase. He won't let me measure his dick. You got, he's on like parent support forms. He's like, you guys going through this too? I don't know, man.
Starting point is 00:33:07 You know, what can I say? He's just, he's just in that like, rebellious, like, 23-year-old phase. What can you do? How do I deal with this? When you've dealt with this, you've all had this experience. All right. You're using your son's bone or blood to fight off mortality.
Starting point is 00:33:22 Is it causing tensions that your dinner table too? I don't know. Let me know. He was saying stuff like, quote, we are the first generation that won't die. Like, actually won't die. I don't plan on dying. I do.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Don't, don't threaten me like that. Like, I love, like, actually won't die. It's just a reiterate. We are the first generation that won't die. Like, actually won't die. Okay. Cool. Glad to know that's your stated goal as you drink your son's bone or blood.
Starting point is 00:33:54 But it turns out he just recently announced that he has a, quote, incurable autoimmune disease and says that like that is actually his stomach is quote eating itself. Not supposed to do that. Definitely not supposed to do that. You don't want to. You can't park there. Stupid stomach. Dumb tummy. I got dummy tummy.
Starting point is 00:34:14 I don't know why. I got dummy tummy and it won't go away. But yeah, this is like a lot of people are like, oh, wow, he's got some kind of incurable autoimmune disease. And he does. That is true. Some, you know, GI doctors are like, it is manageable. You know, like a lot of the symptoms are like nause. There's like all kinds of things vomiting.
Starting point is 00:34:32 And Johnson has been like, well, even though I have this incurable disease, I'm going to fucking solve it. This is where I'm like, hmm. Now, is this pride before the bathroom or just, I don't know what exactly he has in, like, in his mind for all of this? But he has said, he's like, we're going to do everything we can to basically beat this thing. And I'm working with, you know, he's got all kinds of technology that he believes he's going to do this with. Yeah, he's got more hubris than 10 men half his age. Yeah, right. He said, he's like, we will quote, try and solve the condition, which he says only about 2% and 5% of people have.
Starting point is 00:35:08 I think it is also good to remember. he has this guy like has been called by the right as the quote healthiest man in the world yeah yeah and again nothing funny about autoimmune diseases but like this fucking guy right in addition to like borrowing his son's blood and injecting poison into his dick and shit like that he has used bogus immortality claims to sell a bunch of pseudoscientific bullshit to the gullible and desperate and this feels like one of those things where it's an autoimmune thing where like that's manageable, like not fatal. Right.
Starting point is 00:35:40 He's just kind of like, watch, I'm going to beat this shit. And it's going to be fucking, I'm playing this shit on God mode. He's trying to blame the condition on a childhood diet of soda and fast food. He said, quote, as a kid, I ate sugar cereal, drank sugary soda and gobbled down fast food. I had a few healthy years in my early 20s, but then became a young father of three and began building a business. Now, one gastroenterologist was like, it's just as likely that his disease was caused by his experimental health interventions. Yeah, you think?
Starting point is 00:36:15 But potentially not acknowledging that because he's, quote, worried that it would affect his brand by being like, I may have given myself an autoimmune disease with like sipping boner blood and stuff like that. But I'm going to go ahead and say it's the cereal. I read that he was diagnosed in his 20s with hypothyroidism, and as an autoimmune, that's Hashimoto's. And like, shout out to my fellow Hashimoto's crew. So, hash heads. Once you have one autoimmune, it, like, can trigger others. And especially if he's doing all this junk to himself.
Starting point is 00:36:49 Oh, yeah. You know, he's, what I love so, so much is that the other Brian Johnson will likely outlive him. And that's the lead singer of ACDC. Oh, wow. How other, how old are white meat? How old is recreational drugs? 78.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Yeah. Yeah, he's going to do it. He's never going to die. Come on now. He better not. He's still performing. Yeah, but this cat, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:13 I once read through his regimen, like his daily regimen is so insane. And I think he really has to deal with this sort of compulsive behavior. Oh, 100%. One might want to check that. And I guess this, the time. Hum-Tum thing is because he doesn't absorb iron correctly.
Starting point is 00:37:34 But I think it's because he's eating lab grown. It's because of this crystal light. He's crystal light deficient. Can you imagine? Like a Pepsi's like, hey man, we got a brand idea for you, man. For some SponCon. Why don't you say Crystal Light fucking cured your
Starting point is 00:37:53 autoimmune disease? What do you say? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm down. I wonder if his bone blood provider when they heard this news we're like all right everybody's working overtime fire up the fucking machines this guy's going to be more bone than ever we're going to have our sons sons are going to be rich we're going to be this fucking idiot bump it in them now we got it turn it out turn it out yeah oh brian i mean it's just like one of those things like you know death is inevitable and part of the beauty of it is like using that to help you live a like fulfilled life and one where you get you
Starting point is 00:38:29 give back rather than like, fuck him a piece of shit. And the ride can't ed now. So it's got to go on forever because I'm not willing to fucking deal with anything. Help, help. My wax wings are melting. Yeah, right. Exactly. Like in a hundred years, his decrepit, like, let's say he somehow cracks the code and lives
Starting point is 00:38:47 that long. Like, everyone he knows is dead. Yeah. Kids are dead. Oh, yeah. You know, it's like, and he probably would look maybe a little bit worse than he already does, which he looks like. Like someone forgot a wax statue somewhere.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Yes. And they're like, oh, wait a second. That was supposed to be put out last week. Yeah. Right. It's just kind of moldering. Oh, did you leave it out? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:10 He's like sort of translucent. Sort of. Right. Yeah. Got to. Yeah. It's no, it's no great feat, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Yeah. And he takes something like a hundred pills a day or something. I'm sure it's liver loves that. Yeah. And meanwhile, he could be the other Brian Johnson, entertaining folks all around the world by basically playing the same four songs over and over. That's crazy. So you're taking 100 pills a day and your stomach's eating itself?
Starting point is 00:39:35 Yeah, wow. How did this happen? Let me do the math on this. Oh, it's weird. That's crazy. Isn't it fighting death how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader? I mean, isn't this like a very basic cautionary tale that we've worked out a million different ways, a million different times? Yeah. And was like, let's just ignore it one more time. Brian Johnson, go for it, brother. Go ahead, man. This ends well every time. The track record is, flawless. People are batting a thousand when trying to fight death.
Starting point is 00:40:03 They're never compounding. There's something's a little new. I don't know if we need to make that a part of it, but yeah, there is a path, though. I'll give you that. I haven't seen the kids boner blood thing before. That's fantastic. That might. Maybe that's a force multiplier. I don't know. We'll have to see.
Starting point is 00:40:19 All right. Also, I just want to check in. We were talking Blake yesterday on the trending episode about how like all the AI CEOs are like, we may have overblown like the no one's going to have a job anymore because of AI. If anything, we probably should have said, no one's going to have a job because AI is going to completely tank the economy.
Starting point is 00:40:38 There's probably a better thing to say. Whole industries will go under. There's no money anymore. And it's not because of universal basic income. It's just we fucking used all the money. Yeah. It's like money, the water. It's kind of a barter from now.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Dude, you had to burn literal notes to make the shit go. Like physical money's even gone. We really fucked this up. It's all gone. Anyway, so this kind of like sort of feeds into the Tilly Norwood thing because last year she was the first, I guess, AI actress to be almost kind of maybe theoretically signed to a real talent agency when people were like, she's going to be the first AI signed to a talent agency. And then when people are like, read the whole fucking quote, the claim was made by the AI company that created this book. Yeah. That's, that's, it's just bullshit.
Starting point is 00:41:30 And now Variety, breathlessly, is reporting that Tilly Norwood to lead new movie called Misaligned, marking feature debut for AI actor. Again, just fucking read a little bit more than just some asshole claiming it. And you will see that this garbage fucking movie is being put together by the same fucking company, Particle 6. That was the one being like, she's about to get. assigned to like, you take something. Please don't print the press release. Yeah. This is like fucking a guy dressed like Colonel Sanders. It's like,
Starting point is 00:42:05 yeah, I'm actually going to be in this like fried chicken commercial for KFC. But anyway, yeah, it's real big move for me. Yeah, real huge. The news says that. People are saying, a lot of people are saying. And actually, and that's my marketing department.
Starting point is 00:42:21 I actually saying that out loud, sending out press releases. But again, the fucking, these shame on all these fucking trades for just again, not even pointing that out. Just putting the stupid fucking headline out than being like, rather than be like, holy shit, Tilly Norwood's coming for our asses being like, man, these fucking idiots keep, I don't know, asshole says thing is going to happen. Yes.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Just ignore it. Everything is hype now. It's like a whole world's run by Carney. So we're like, oh, yeah, I love this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Isn't that great? It's like, are you just like retweeting that you're doing like the journalistic version of retweeting without even looking?
Starting point is 00:42:56 Yeah. Pretty much. Well, there aren't the journalists in any of these newsrooms. It's just, you know, I mean, the first job I had out of college was a reporter at a daily paper. And people were working like crazy hard. You know, we had all these stories we had to generate. And it's like the newcomer, I was given press releases. But I wasn't supposed to just flip them around and turn him into a story.
Starting point is 00:43:22 I was supposed to like wreck them. Like, pick all this thing apart. And if it's really cool, right about it. If it's not right about that. And it was just like, that doesn't exist anymore. Right. Yeah. I think it's like one person doing pagination and being like, all, that'll fit.
Starting point is 00:43:38 This press release fits there. Right. Because they're also like, well, we're variety and we're owned by the Penske family. Yeah. Zoom out. And what's what other fucking things does the Penske family, like the Penske media corporation, have their hand in? And you're like, it's all just like, so yeah, it's all just, hey, can you?
Starting point is 00:43:56 you say stuff about me, um, that's cool for me. For me. Thank you so much. By me, for me, about me. Thanks. And we're not asking. Yeah. We're not asking. Sorry, sorry. I didn't say I said, motherfucker do this shit. Okay. Um, I just do want to just read just give people an idea of like what this thing is even supposed to be misaligned, which is again, by particle six, the same fuckers that created Tilly Norwood, uh, is described as a comedy drama. telling a quote, coming of age story infused with existential AI chaos, set inside the so-called Tillyverse. Fuck.
Starting point is 00:44:36 Oh, no. A surreal digital world located somewhere up in the cloud, the film will follow Tilly and AI being with no real body, no childhood and no lived experience of our own. Oh, I love a character with absolutely fucking nothing behind it. No body, no childhood, no experience, no life. life, no fucking history. No, what the, okay. So relatable. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:45:00 Yeah. Right. I love it. Only access to everyone else's, oh, plot twist. Things spiral when a seductive rogue bot from the dark web convinces her to abandon her guardrails and begin developing desires, impulses, and ambitions making her more human. So the story of Satan going to the Garden of Eden, tempting Eve with the apple, and then having death into the world because of the choice.
Starting point is 00:45:24 That's the plot. Yes. Yes. Okay. Yeah. That's it. Yeah. We, for legal reasons, couldn't say that because we didn't go sued by the Bible, but that's what they're really what's just.
Starting point is 00:45:35 That's what the AI told us was a good. We just said, what's like the most age-old cautionary tale? Spin that into the Tillyverse. What's the best selling book ever? Take chapter one. Chapter one. What's the, yeah. And from that, can you make that in the Tillyverse?
Starting point is 00:45:48 Yeah. When a rogue, the AI prompt. When a rogue snake bot was, yeah. This is worse than holograming. Tupac because at least people liked how they like Tupac. I was there. It's like, okay, that's doable, I guess. I was there.
Starting point is 00:46:03 Coachella 2012, I was fucking there because I was like, bro, hold my blunt. They're bringing Tupac back, bro. It was so under fucking welcoming. Like, because also I didn't, I was like probably 200 yards from the stage. So like, I just saw like a flicker of light.
Starting point is 00:46:25 And then you're like, It's motherfucking Tupac! And it was like, ah! And then just like, and it was like some AI version of his voice or like a really good Tupac voice in person. Like, what's the fuck is up? Coachella? And we're like, eh!
Starting point is 00:46:39 And then played one song. And then by the end of it, like, it was, that was it. It was really. It wasn't, it wasn't worth it at all. But that was a, that was such a pure time. Yes. Because we weren't so cynical about it. We're like, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:46:54 What do you mean? Tupac's coming back. you know, it was a magic trick. Yeah. In light form. He's like shot out of R2D2. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:06 Projected onto you. It was a big clot point. All right. Let's. Oh, you're good. I had a boss who, when I used to work at the laser tag place,
Starting point is 00:47:19 all he did was R2D2 was. He was like an adult nerd. And you always be like, and you're like, oh, shit. And I was like, how you do that? How you do that, Mark? Let me fucking learn that.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Let me put a little bit of that in my quiver next time. What I want to do. Smug bastard. He's like just looking around like, I know how good I am. He's like, here's another one you might like. Oh. Oh, okay, Mark. Oh, shit, Mark.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Okay. I see you. Mark. He's like, yeah, actually, I have a photo with Kenny Baker, who is the guy who's actually inside the R2D2 suit. Really great guy. Really great guy. All right.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Let's touch quickly on midterm elections because those are on the horizon. The polls that come out continuously are not good for the GOP or Trump. The line continue to go down. And it doesn't seem like Trump gives a fuck. Like there was an affordable housing bill that he like refused to sign because he's like, there needs to be voter suppression in this bill or else I won't even sign the most like, Wilcoast housing affordability legislation to like give people a win to even run on like in the era of everything's too expensive. He denied the Republicans the ability to be like, well, we just did sign this affordable house.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Right. Nope. Okay. No, no, he does not. He doesn't care about legislative wins at all. He's hostile towards anyone that mentions affordability around him and continues to double down on foreign policies that hurt everyone, including his own base, double triple. add to the fact that he is also sitting on a fuck ton of cash that would normally help campaigns. Quote, President Donald Trump is sitting on more than a $350 million war chest, but Republicans are starting to feel shortchanged.
Starting point is 00:49:10 This is from Politico. MAGA, Inc., a pro-Trump pack, hasn't spent directly on a race since March. Since then, MAGA Inc. has only given $560,000 to MAGA, Kentucky, which used it to Ed Galarine's challenge against Kentucky Representative Thomas Massey. So they're like, uh, you know, we're getting to the business end of like midterm season here. And we kind of need, you know, you need money to like buy like propaganda slots for air and all print and all that kind of shit. And, you know, we could kind of use some of that because people aren't as enthusiastic on the GOP. And right now, generically Democrats have like a five point edge, which I'm sure is causing Chuck Schumer and Hakeemperies to be like,
Starting point is 00:49:51 okay, fuck, man, let's just like sail in without doing too much, man. Let's just fucking count on this five-point cushion to not fucking do anything too appealing to broaden a coalition of voters that would probably augment the support we have. We could use this task for donations. We could chip away out a little bit too. I mean, why not? Yeah, a little bit. I mean, honestly, the tent is too big if we're allowing progressives and socialists in there that are getting a ton of enthusiasm at a grassroots level. no, we need to half the tent.
Starting point is 00:50:24 Probably. And like right now there's like, so what's the plan? Obviously the Save Act is something Trump has been screaming about. He wants voter suppression. He wants proof of citizenship at the ballot box, which everyone's like, that's kind of self-defeating Mr. President. I don't know if you know how many people are going to be able to just whip that shit out casually, unless like what, is the passport good enough?
Starting point is 00:50:48 And if it is, then I'd hate to show you the numbers on who. the passport holders are in this country. It's not your guys. It's not going to work out the same. It's not. It might not work out. Sampling culture. No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:51:03 They are willing to just like see a Twitter video. I'm like, exactly. That's why I ain't never going there to that shit hole. Nope. So there is a plan that has been uttered. Steve Bannon has been talking about this, which is like, you know, good to know because he's usually like, usually the genesis of like some of the terrible ideas.
Starting point is 00:51:22 Oh, yeah. Get into Donald Trump's mind. The, like, most destructive ones that just tear it all down stuff. Yeah. Yeah, because he's over here, like, in his, like, green hunting jacket, like, just sweating, spitting. Like, we're got to fucking fight America. We've got to save this fucking place. Dude, his pee smells terrible.
Starting point is 00:51:38 Oh, yeah. And he doesn't drink coffee or asparagus. No. It's just like maple syrup. Yeah. Oh, boy. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:45 And it's like, I just, I just picture, like, a towel, too. It's not even like, just like a maple syrup tap. Yeah. Yeah. Just got to. Sorry, I got to just create some space in the tank. So this is kind of, according to media matters,
Starting point is 00:52:00 based on what we've heard MAGA people say is kind of what the steps would be. First, quote, the White House would declassify and release documents purporting to show foreign interference in U.S. elections, especially by the Chinese Communist Party. And Venezuela, right? Yeah. And that too, even though you're like, what? You're like, you can just do that because you can.
Starting point is 00:52:21 pretend whatever's happening in Venezuela is real because you've, you're trying to coerce them to do whatever the fuck you want. Next, Trump would use that supposed proof of a stolen election to declare a national emergency. Thereby, according to those pushing the idea, giving him extraordinary powers over the upcoming midterms. That move would serve as a way to advance the anti-voting or anti-voting rights measures in the SAVE Act, like forcing voters to prove their citizenship without having to actually pass the law. which right now Congress is not able to do. Like, they're able to do it in the House, but everyone in the Senate's like, no. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:58 This isn't good. No, this is not good. And this is also such a waste of time. Why aren't we trying to, like, even Republicans, like, can we fucking try something about affordability? Just anything. Like, I get that you think you're going to cheat, but like, shit, I can't, I have to go home to my district.
Starting point is 00:53:13 Yeah. And I can't just keep being like, oh, we're going to do something. Right. They aren't buying it. So, yeah, because of that, this seems like an elegant sort of solution. And yeah, this is things we're hearing from also like the officer of the director of national
Starting point is 00:53:27 intelligence. The people in the White House are saying this. Like I also said, Bannon is sort of at the center of this. So, you know, let's just keep your eyes open because again, from Trump's perspective,
Starting point is 00:53:39 it damn sure looks like he doesn't feel like anything has to be done outside of whatever he thinks he can do behind the scenes. Oh, yeah. So keep your eye on. I buy it. I mean, I think having the allegations of foreign interference be the impetus for it makes it's the cleanest thing because I've been thinking like how are they going to get a national
Starting point is 00:54:00 emergency before the elections. Yeah. And that's like, that's the. Yeah, not to get too black barbershop about it, but that is the best way to do it other than the other plans. Darren stay woke. Yeah. 100% I'm in it.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they need that it's like a, like a foreign policy false flag event. basically with this is to be like, because I mean, honestly, like if you want, you know, fucking evidence of election interference,
Starting point is 00:54:26 you can just go to 2016, babe. Yeah, you got plenty. You got some there to look at. Elon and his Starlink stuff. Anything. Look. This little kid telling me. Welcome to the black barbershop, Elizabeth.
Starting point is 00:54:37 Yeah. Listen, I am ho tap. Welcome in. There you go. Oh, wow. Yeah, you're like, you're like, you're like, where's the doc? Y'all got that new Dr. Umar tape.
Starting point is 00:54:46 There is not a conspiracy theory. I've met that I haven't. At least half been injured. Yeah. Yeah. I love them. Go on, Dr. Umar.
Starting point is 00:54:54 What were you saying? Drop that truth, huh? Tell me about these, these biracial black athletes. And what's wrong with them, Dr. Umar? The mother's a white. You know, that's the problem. You know what that is?
Starting point is 00:55:06 You know, that's the white mama. All right. Well, keep your eyes open. Uh, because obviously this whole party is, it can't win without doing absolute absurd rat fuckery. Oh, yeah, exactly. Count on it. Count on it.
Starting point is 00:55:20 Yep. All right, let's take a break. Make Nixon look lazy. Yeah, right? Make Nixon look like a Boy Scout. He was out here at least like even apologizing. Starting point is 00:58:36 I help you make sense of the often nonsensical news. I do this on cable news too, but on my podcast, I can really let loose and be my honest, unfiltered self. Sometimes I still can't believe we keep electing men to run the country. Yeah, here we are. Each week, you'll get my hot takes on the news and insider knowledge and insights
Starting point is 00:58:55 from my smart friends and colleagues. I think our politics has shifted away from left versus right. the new paradigm that drives our politics is front versus back. People who feel like they're stuck at the back of the line versus everyone they see in front of them, keeping them at the back of the line. Come, find some sanity in the weekly news. Listen to Off the Cup on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:59:19 or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. And Nido is the toy everyone's going crazy for. What is it? I don't know. It's a squishy. You ever see anything? This is like, I know you have younger kids in your family.
Starting point is 00:59:41 You didn't see any kids walking around these weird, just like, so it looks like a little goopy-goops. Yeah, look like a rubber ice cube. Okay, I haven't seen this. And I'll try to keep up with the unemployed people, but I haven't seen this one yet. Children? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:53 You know the unemployed. You know, y'all got him as roommates. Yeah. I believe the unemployed are the future. My dead beat roommates. Teach them there and they will get a job. Listen, amen. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:05 Okay, so we got Nito. So they're squishy. They're squishy. People are treating them like they're being described as colorful rubbery balls and cubes of varying texture that are useful, valuable sensory play for kids and used by adults for stress relief. So there's like some aspect of this that is like kind of good for people, you know, like just in terms of like how people, like people need something to fiddle with. I've heard them described as like fidget toys.
Starting point is 01:00:33 Yeah, like a stress ball or fidgetting. I was like, I had that over and I was like, oh, all right. Yeah, I get it. Are they wet? No, no, no, no. They feel like they should be. Yeah, they're not, but they feel wet. Okay.
Starting point is 01:00:44 You know, that's kind of the trick. They feel like kind of a non-Newtonian, like between solid liquid. You squeeze them. They pop back, but like they feel like they shouldn't pop back quite as well. My eight-year-old is into these. Yeah, I was about to say, you have a real guy. You wait until he goes to sleep. You're like, my turn now.
Starting point is 01:01:05 He's so into them that he had. one that he really liked and it started smelling and then he like figured out the right dish detergent to use on it to make it stop smelling. Because it was like what? I don't know. It smelled like degrading rubber or something. Oh, got it got it. Wow, he's taking care of it. I know.
Starting point is 01:01:21 Yeah. There you go, not spoiling these kids. Hell no. Right. You got a wash. You better watch. You better watch. You got a we got Nito at home. You better get that wash rack. I'm like, damn, Jack got a wash glove. You got a strict program. It was a black housework.
Starting point is 01:01:37 I mean? He's like, that's for the needos. That's what? The knee, what? The needle. Your needle cloth. Yeah. Get your needle cloth out.
Starting point is 01:01:44 Recently, there have been a number of news stories about, so it feels like there are sometimes when something will become a craze and they will manufacture a new story about it. Yeah. Sure, sure. The boo-boos, it was mostly about sales, but also there was like, are they haunted? Will they? Are they both? Like, it doesn't have 19th.
Starting point is 01:02:07 Then it's a La Bebe. Yeah. La Bebe's kids. This one feels a little less manufactured because there are TikTok trends that are suggesting the kids microwave their fucking needos. Yeah. These things seem like they are just on the verge of like bursting. So like anything like that that you're doing to it is going to be bad.
Starting point is 01:02:30 Yeah. No, don't do it. Don't do it. It's one of those things that like I saw an article about this yesterday. I was like, oh shit. I'm like, I love hearing about dipshit kids, microwaving stuff and exploding. And then I'm like, oh, God, these, this is, this is like, these are, these kids are getting fucked up by this exploding magma that they are fucking microwaving, which are crazy.
Starting point is 01:02:53 I didn't even know, like, they're like, don't even freeze it. They're like, don't. I wouldn't. I'm like, it's not volatile. Yeah. You're like, don't slam it on the ground. Right. It explodes.
Starting point is 01:03:04 It says explode. Fucking take your foot off. We know. I didn't realize that they were blowing that. So is it, if it blows up in the microwave, is it just slime everywhere in the microwave? No, or is it like blowing up the microwave? Get it out.
Starting point is 01:03:15 It comes out. Yeah, it gets on your skin and it's like, you know, it will stick to your skin. Yeah, because it'll like burst, you know? The membrane becomes too. So you microwave it first. Now I'm trying to teach me, try to do it.
Starting point is 01:03:28 So listen up, kids. Yeah, yeah. Microwave at first. On 80% power. Don't go full power on it. That's how you hurt yourself. Put it on the popcorn setting. Like I said.
Starting point is 01:03:37 14 minutes. But yeah, I think they're so, like, you need them to not be too hot, too cold, or else all bets are off. It's kind of the sense that I get. Right, yeah, yeah. They could just prefer. The thing that was terrifying was like,
Starting point is 01:03:50 don't even cool it. And I was like, that's fucking weird. Pick one. They have added safety warnings to the box in tiny writing. Okay, good, good, good. It's a store at room temp, only room temp, nothing but room temp. A cool, dark place, free of motion.
Starting point is 01:04:07 No bad vibes. No music playing. You're like, what? No music playing. No infrared light. I love how toy companies just never remember that there's going to be a kid who's going to put it in the microwave. Like before we had microwave kid, we had magnifying glass kid. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:04:22 Who would be out there burning the hands. There's always somebody who needs to burn things with fire as a child. Oh, yeah. Did you ever, I've talked about this before. Did you ever shrink those like little snack Frito bags in the microwave? Oh, the foil bags. If you put them in the microwave and just like five. But I'm in the microwave.
Starting point is 01:04:37 Yes, but not in my house. Somebody else's. Only when I was visited. But it's crazy because you know how like rice crispy treats? They have like that sort of semi-metallic foily wrapper and then like a lot of chip bags are the same way. Like kind of like mylar or whatever. They would fucking go and shrink down if you did it at the right time. And it just kind of shrunk and you're like, look at this, bro.
Starting point is 01:04:57 I got a tiny bag of chips. One of rice crispy? And a fire. Full more fire. Honey, I shrunk the kids. Yeah. But there is always there. Homey, I shrunk the chip.
Starting point is 01:05:06 There's the call of the microwave that calls out to us. Yeah. That insatiable urge to put some shit in the microwave. So you're admitting that you're a microwaver? You were a microwave kid. I did start as a magnifying glass kit. Okay. And I would soak newspapers in like WD40 and then just fucking with the magnifying glass.
Starting point is 01:05:22 My eight-year-old is obsessed with just putting a ice cube on a frying pan. He's like, hey, can I put an ice cube on a frying pan? I'm like, bro. Yeah. Okay. Your kids are well behaved as hell. Right. He's like, I got to clean my needle. Right.
Starting point is 01:05:34 And I need to do my science. Can I do this laundry real quick? Yeah. He's like, you got a couple of socks over there. Yeah, I'm about to do a load of whites. Like, what are this is? He's like, do you have any bluing? Because a lot of people, there's a misconception that bleach is actually how you get white clothes wider.
Starting point is 01:05:50 You actually need to introduce blue to it to get them wider. Do you have blueing? Do we have bluing father? Catch me the point. No, but I feel like ice cube on the frying pan is the gateway drug to microwave. Wait, why is that? What do you? Because like on the stove, you mean?
Starting point is 01:06:04 Yeah, yeah. Like where you watch it sizzling. I thought your kid was coming with a loose frying pan and ice cream. He's like, father, may I put the ice tube on the frying pan? Just imagine. He was like, he was like, he's patient as fuck. No, not, no. He was like, mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Jack only gives his kids great depression air told him. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. Father may I play with the hoop. Yeah, hit it down the street with my stick. Wash your stick, boy. Wash your stick. Did you clean off that penny farting? Anyways, back to kids getting injured.
Starting point is 01:06:37 Oh, no, the kids, right? Yeah. So this has been happening for about a year. There are even reports of kids suffering chemical burns after being exposed to the gel-like substance inside the Nito from simply playing with the toy, not even heating it. Oh, wow. That's being denied by the CEO of the company.
Starting point is 01:06:54 Have you ever seen the very old SNL sketch where Dan Aykroyd is like, what, it's a bag of glass? Yeah. Yeah. It's fine. Like, that's what the CEO of the company is. Thanksgiving. It's like, it's not capable of burning skin. It's simply
Starting point is 01:07:07 maltose. Everybody knows maltose. The shit's fine. Yeah, everybody's got to be heat misuse. It's as they say. Yeah. It's not like our bodies you know, radiate heat of a certain temperature. Oh yeah, if it goes up one degree, it becomes terribly unstable. It becomes volatile.
Starting point is 01:07:23 As long as the kids are below 98 degrees. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Good. We're playing with it indoors? Oh, shit. We got a death wish? What I call my kid a fucker? man, what the hell? Oh, he's in a hospital right now.
Starting point is 01:07:35 Look, this little fucker. Look at this fucker. He's faking it. Watch this. High five, my guy. Look. Go to the hospital. They're like,
Starting point is 01:07:42 his eyes are bandaged, sir. Going to the hospital like doing your press conference. They're like, these kids are fine. Look at him. Look at him. He loves it. He loves it. He loves it.
Starting point is 01:07:50 It's too heavy. The kid would actually be into that, though. Yeah. Just came up. It is hard to put your full trust in a company that was once fined $200,000 for not recalling a toy they knew contained. They knew contained more than 40 times the legal limit of lead paint. Wow.
Starting point is 01:08:07 Okay. Okay. So they're all about. But where do we draw the line? 20 times? Yeah. Right, right, right. 10 times.
Starting point is 01:08:14 40 times the legal limit. That just seems like it was painted with lead. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Like not even paint. Like just dipped in like lead. Yeah. That's all we have left is lead.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Yeah, yeah. What we've got are these damn dental vests. Or like how they see it in a chiro or something. It's just like, they just put the top in there, just shaking some lead on it. There you go. But they were like, yeah, we don't know why they didn't recall this. It's so weird. I was just saying this before we recorded.
Starting point is 01:08:40 The social media age is so fucked up because kids now have so many vectors for getting bad ideas. In the 90s, it would be like one kid whose parents are divorced and were never home. Right. At your school. There was a kid at my school named Ryan. He fucking, he looked. I had a Ryan too. He looked like he was microwaving needles and getting burnt at home.
Starting point is 01:09:01 Yeah. Like he looked like he was the outcome of his own, like, dumb kid experiments. And he would come to school and like, you know, you should do. It was like, and it was enough that you're like, every time you do your impression of this kid, like one of your eyes like kind of shrivels up and like looks like it's twitching. Because it like to me, I remember as a kid being like, bro, you look like you got all these scratches and shit. Because I see. Because he would do reckless shit at school too.
Starting point is 01:09:22 Like just fucking do a gainer like off a jumble gym and like almost break his neck and stuff. And I'm like, this kid has bad ideas. So when he would come through with a bad idea, you're like, No. Yeah. I don't want to be like you. But that was word of mouth. That was through the great vibe.
Starting point is 01:09:37 That's how our ancestors passed off the childhood recipes, like making that, the oral traditions. The little S, that's kind of an eight with the lines. Yes, we passed the Stozy to each other, you know, like the old lore. Yeah. But now it's like they can get on the internet and find any idiot across the globe. Mine wasn't Orion. Mine was an Adam.
Starting point is 01:10:00 Oh. Yeah. Crazy Adam. And you knew whatever he was on, not for me. Yeah, like, sometimes he'd be like, you know, you could staple your skin. Like, and we'd be like, Adam. But I was always very nice to Adam because I never knew if things were going to go right or left in. Right.
Starting point is 01:10:13 You want him. You want him to emerge from the shadows at your time of need, like a DeuSex Machina with like this like staple skin. He's like, I got you, Lacey. Or you want of one of those, like, he's walking past and like, you good. Because I'm like, you're hiding under your mask. I know, I didn't take it there. this. We're all in the way.
Starting point is 01:10:32 You don't want to piss Adam up. He's like, you're the man, Adam. You're the man, man. You're the man, man. Stapleskin, man. Still a fucking gold idea, bro. Fuck, fuck, fuck. I see you, man. Look at that aim.
Starting point is 01:10:47 What else can we talk about? We can talk about window seats, which no longer mean window seats. People, there's a class action lawsuit after customers have said that they bought window seat tickets, but their seat. had no window. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:02 I'll be there with my neck brace on. Yeah. Well, because see, this is a thing. This is, uh, there was, there are two last lawsuits going out against United and Delta. And I'm, but again, this is how I've been on other airlines aside from these where I thought I had a window seat and it was just plastic wall. It was just a huge. I was sitting there. You get a wall seat.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Can I get a win? Yeah. Like, it feels like back rooms and some shit. You're like, well, my hand go through. Because it's clear. that they've added some extra rows to the plane to squeeze us in. So then it's like... The alignment's off.
Starting point is 01:11:35 And it's like, I can't even take... No one can take ownership of the window or the window because it's like right in between the seats. So like who owns the window? Oh yeah. Because the window's like... It's like, this is the window. And now you're here, I'm here.
Starting point is 01:11:48 Who gets to work it? Who decides how much like? Exactly. Depends. Because they are very adamant. Or that's not there at all. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:55 So a federal judge Monday, quote, rejected United Airlines bid to dismiss a lawsuit by passengers who complained they paid extra money to sit in window seats, only to discover there were no windows there. U.S. District Judge James Donato rejected United's defense that, quote, window referred to the location of a seat relative to the cabin wall and aisle. And the carrier also contended and ever contractually promised that seats in the window position would have views outside.
Starting point is 01:12:21 Windows just like a vibe. Yeah, you know? Exactly. It's just like an idea. The window is an idea. Unfortunately for the United, the judge also said, United's ticketing terms, boarding passes and reservation screens state expressly that the airline would provide window seats to passengers who paid for them.
Starting point is 01:12:37 And the judge said, quote, no more is needed at this stage for the breach claims to go forward. They're like, there's nothing in there's nothing like where you're cleverly wording. You're like window. Right. Also, I was just when I went to DC a couple of months or a couple weeks ago, I was on Southwest and flying with the guy's child, the window seat is like to fucking influx. like babysitter for like a toddler. Oh yeah. I mean, they fucking play with the window.
Starting point is 01:13:03 They look out the fucking window. There's something on the wing. He does all that shit. He's doing old Shatner, bro. He's got he's got range. He's got range. But it's just really, it's like just crazy to me because when I got there and there was no window just wall, he looked
Starting point is 01:13:19 at me like I was fuck like I was punishing him. He's like, where's the window? I'm like, why did you make the window go away? And it's not easy. He's like, what did I do, Daddy? Exactly. And I was like, here's the thing, my child, window just refers to the location of the seat relative to the cabin wall and aisle. And we don't actually have a contractual guarantee that we would be sat by literal window.
Starting point is 01:13:43 He didn't get it. Did you give him his ball and cup? I find that my kids really respond well to ball and cup. He used that like that top that you wrap the string around the top and he goes, and then she was flying all up and down the aisles. We had to kind of stop playing with it because they said it was safety risk. But yeah, it's just not, it feels like the lowest hanging fruit in terms of how you price it. Like, give me a little discount. If I got a wall, wall seat.
Starting point is 01:14:05 Yeah, also there's something, we're past dystopian. I hate when people use that word like, babes, we're in dystopia. Yeah, yeah. And now, right, literally. And so there's just something so sad and even more dystopian about like, oh, I just bought wall. I got my flight. Yeah, yeah. I got my flight to New Mexico.
Starting point is 01:14:24 Yeah, we fly in wall. Yeah. Wall economy minus. Yeah. Wall steerage. Yeah. Up against the, the bathroom is behind you. Wall here.
Starting point is 01:14:37 Can't we're just in the toilet corner. Yeah. Yeah. The wall to the laboratory is like kind of soft. So it's like I lean my chair back and it went into the laborty. Yeah. But you do get $5 off if you fly a laboratory wall. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:49 Yeah. No, there are definitely like everything is trying to nudge people more to be like, we need to get, because you see this all the time. like internal discussions at airlines. Like they want to push more people to pay to pay as much money to not be in like the painful seat. So like we got to make a economy seat.
Starting point is 01:15:06 Painful is shit. We got to everybody wants to go to plus or whatever. Well, they've added so many things. It used to just be like economy and first. And then it became like, okay, we've got economy and then at the plane's bigger, we got business. And then we got premium plus. We got premium sleeping.
Starting point is 01:15:21 But now we got economy plus. And then we got economy regular. And then we got economy pop. economy. Economy broke ass. Economy with your broke ass. Are you diamond ruby? Right, right. Pearl status.
Starting point is 01:15:34 Oh, let me see your ticket. Oh, yeah. Your seat category is actually Irish immigrants in the bottom of the Titanic. Right. Dancing scene. Yeah. Oh.
Starting point is 01:15:44 So you platinum rubble? Yeah. You're like, you're pebble status? Okay, yeah. Pebble, y'all got away. This one just says suitcase. Yeah. Pebble is for like, when we start taking off,
Starting point is 01:15:55 if you're on the jet. can you get on the plane? Yeah, and I think, I mean, it's like everyone complains now, like every airline has been just worse and worse and worse and gives people less and less and less and charging more. Yeah, Delta's now not giving you snacks, like that little Biscop cookie or those little sun chips
Starting point is 01:16:10 that should be able to. They were on your credit, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, it's also extra for CBOs if you want those. Right. Right. You're just giving those out willing to know more. They're like, look, if you died, this ain't going to ride. Yeah, you know, be all right. You know, we're kind of very eligible at the point. But, like, if you're flying from SFO to L-X, like that flight,
Starting point is 01:16:26 is not deemed long enough to have a sun chip or a biscoff anymore. Yeah. So it's like they're cutting every corner possible. They were, I flew recently and I went to the back and asked for a little more water and they gave it to me. So I was pretty. They gave it to you? They gave me a little more water in my little plastic cup.
Starting point is 01:16:44 Is that because they made you cry and then they put the cup up to your eyes and they're like, here you go home? You got a little on my own tears? Yeah, good enough for you?
