Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of the weekly zeitgeist. These are some of our favorite segments from this week, all edited together into one non-stop, infotainment, laugh stravaganza. Uh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:20 So, without further ado, here is the weekly zeitgeist. We are thrilled to be joined in our third seat by one of the funniest stand-up comics doing it. You know her from TV podcasts, wonderful follow on Instagram. You can see her headlining at a theater near you. This weekend, she's going to be in Cincinnati at the Comet. Next weekend, a little place called Seattle. Seattle. At laughs.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Shout out to laughs for locking down. Clever name. They got it. The most central. name. There are other laughs, but they have two Fs. Oh, L.A. F-F-F-S? Yeah, but the Seattle one got the real word. Oh, got the actual word. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But there are other clubs called laughs with two Fs. L.A. Maybe a pH somewhere. I don't fucking know.
Starting point is 00:05:13 They're digging deep these days. I know. Like, it really feels like they're, you know, funny bone and then it's like helium. but some of them are wild. Some of them are out there. Anyways, you can find her dates at Amy Miller, comedy.com. Please welcome.
Starting point is 00:05:29 One of your favorites, one of our favorites. It's Amy Miller! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yay. Shout out to Cincinnati. Cincinnati. Ohio. Are you going to get chilly while you're there?
Starting point is 00:05:41 Do you like, have you had since then? Yeah, I pretty much always do. I think it's really good. I do a three-way. Okay. Yeah. And then I also...
Starting point is 00:05:50 What is the three-way? Y'all at me. Spaghetti. It's, yeah, it's spaghetti with the chili and cheese. Mm-hmm. And then I put the hot sauce on it. Because the four-way is like also with meat or no, with onions. Or beans or beans.
Starting point is 00:06:04 There's some other. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:09 It's such a horny way to just be like there are three ingredients in this. It's a three-way. Yeah. You want a bit of a gang bang in this hamburger? I mean, just lettuce and tomato. Yeah, that's what we call it. When you let us a tomato on the hamburger, we call it a gang bang. Give me the gang bang.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Oh, sure. A tuna sandwich? People get mad at me for this, but I love the Greek salad at Skyline. At Skyline, wow. However, yeah, it's a good Greek salad. They have really good dressing. But now we know that Skyline's like bad and we're supposed to go to Gold Star because Skyline was like the white chain that like stole from these like Yemeni immigrants.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Like the recipe. and that's Gold Star. And I know a lot of this because the Gold Star founder's daughter was on Summerhouse for one season. Wow. She was like, I'm from a Chile Empire. And everybody was like, what? I feel vindicated. And everyone in Summer House was like on spaghetti and they were like, oh.
Starting point is 00:07:07 And then she's like, yeah, well, white people stole the recipe and made more money from it. So it's really good. That's great. Because I remember every time they're guests from Cincinnati or the region and I talk about I like Gold Star over Skyline. And they're like, what are you a fucking idiot? Yeah. And I'm like. It's really, it is better.
Starting point is 00:07:25 But I mean, it's the hydrox. It's like the cookies. Hydrox is oreas. Yeah. Hydrox is like, why would you eat hydrox? Because it's the original. Okay? Got ripped off.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Yeah. It is. Respect to classics. Anyways, all right. Gold Star. Shout out Gold Star. Go to Skyline. Steal the Greek salad from there.
Starting point is 00:07:45 And then, uh, eat the church. It's not something I'll eat before. show. Yeah, sure. Yeah. I don't fill up on chili spaghetti and then do two hours of comedy.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Right. But yeah, probably the next day. Gotta fill up the tank. Carbo load. Well, oddly too. It's like on fucking Sunday, like it's actually hard to get on Sunday. Like they're all like clothes.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Like for God or whatever. Like you have to like go into Kentucky to find the open. That's the wrong God. For God or whatever. It's a wrong God. No God. God wants me to have a five way. on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Take that to me what you needed to. It's in the Bible. Exactly. Thou shall have five ways on Sundays. People, you know, different meanings.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Five ways to Sunday. What is something from your search history that is revealing about who you are? Well, my last search history was what are warts. Did you guys know
Starting point is 00:08:44 what warts are? No. And now that you mention it, I should. Yeah. I have a war. on my face. I think it's pregnancy related,
Starting point is 00:08:53 but it's actually you get a cut on your skin and then HPV enters. What? Can you believe? It can't be right. Right? I mean, you tell me. I don't trust Google now
Starting point is 00:09:07 because you get those AI searches. Well, that's why you don't look at that. You always have to turn that off because that's the dummy zone of the internet. That will make you progressively stupider if you rely on whatever. Damn. Ignore the dummy zone.
Starting point is 00:09:20 of the Google research results. And that's what I'm reading to you. Yeah. But there must be some truth. I don't know if it's what I have in my face. Look, you guys, do you see it? Uh-huh. Oh, yeah, that's HPV.
Starting point is 00:09:32 That's HPV on my face. No, wow. Most commonly the human bacillomavirus causing small, rough surface. You get a cut and then the papaloma enters. It's amazing the things you don't know about your body. So what does that mean? There's this HPV, like ambient. Because like if they say like if you get it on your foot, like a planter,
Starting point is 00:09:50 award. Yeah. Right. Like, but it comes from your, your hand and you've been touching an HPV. Wow. I've been touching an HPV. I'm a feeling this is wildly scientific. That's what I think too. But it does say that that is, it's, this is from the St. Louis Children's Hospital. Why would they lie? Right. Right. It's our common about 10% again of children and are caused by a virus, most commonly, human papilloma virus. I think there's different kinds of human papilloma. Right. Oh, yeah, yeah. I don't. I don't know, but it's crazy the things of our bodies that we don't know. It's like, where's my liver?
Starting point is 00:10:25 Like the other day, I was like, what is a contraction? How does birth happen, you know? Yeah. I can't quite explain it to you, but basically a contraction means your, not your pussy, but you're dilating. Your pussy's opening. Oh, okay. So it pulls up, it goes, and meanwhile, your hole is expanding that.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Yeah. And then when the baby's going to come out, it doesn't. the opposite. It goes right, right. And then again, this is how your doctor explained it to you, right?
Starting point is 00:10:59 Is your doctor? This is also me looking online, Googling how and the, outburst. I just look at the top of Google. That's what it said.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Damn. So words go away, though, right? Because I remember I had a word on my hand when I was a kid. Lots of kids get warts on their hands. I don't have to tell you
Starting point is 00:11:17 how I got it, I guess. I don't want to know. Is that when you're Working on a farm? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Were you touching the cows?
Starting point is 00:11:27 You know what I'm so? I'll get them all burned all because pregnancy can bring on skin tags and stuff. Dude, pregnancy brings out all kinds of things. It's amazing. I'm like a Christmas tree with ornaments hanging off of it. Temporary. Are you having heartburn too? Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Okay. So that baby's going to have a thick head of hair. He does. That does feel like the thing that is consistent. A doctor said that's not an old wife's tale. That's actually real. Good, good, good. She has hair.
Starting point is 00:11:52 That seems like the most made up one, though. Like, I had heard that too. Yeah. That's going to be a lot of thick head of hair on that one. Right. The growing of hair causes heartburn. Yeah. What?
Starting point is 00:12:01 No. What are you talking about? Oh, are you a doctor? No, but I just don't like what you say. Like, fuck that. Blake, what's something you think is underrated? Underrated aluminum trash cans, like for the outside where we. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Oscar Grouch's house. Oscar the Grouch style and they're very durable and rats can't get in them and one thing so we had issues with plastic trash cans where rats were chewing through them
Starting point is 00:12:34 and even better is at night when the sanitation people come to pick up the trash they're so fucking loud it's so fun and they because they toss them in the air so it's like we know when they get to our house because you're like gong jr gong jr It's so loud.
Starting point is 00:12:51 And it makes me laugh like every single time. Yeah, it's all, yeah, they're so loud that it almost seems like, no matter what, that person has to be doing that intentionally to try and wake everybody up. Right. There's no way, even if they were being like, like gentle, like there's no not making a loud noise with those. So you're right. And they're not being gentle with them also. So you're right.
Starting point is 00:13:15 It does. It is deafening. No. trash person has ever been gentle with a trash can at all. No. Why should you? Because it's fun. They treat trash cans the way rock stars treat hotel rooms.
Starting point is 00:13:27 And I appreciate it. You know, they're just like, and fuck you. Once it's emptied, once they've done their job, they trash that shit. Not my problem. Style points, you know. I miss it. Good luck finding it. I miss a garbage, man.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Because like in L.A., we just got the fucking trucks. I'm not a garbage, man. I'm a garbage, man. Now let me handle my garbage. Damn. It is. Yeah, I don't think there are that many places
Starting point is 00:13:56 that still rock with the aluminum trash cans. That is impressive. New York, you know? Also, what are these fucking rats on? They're biting through the fucking Liz like that? It's crazy. These rats, I don't have,
Starting point is 00:14:11 like usually I would try to come up with something funny here. I know I don't have the words to describe how impressive these rats are. You're terrified. I'm worried they'll hear they're gone for now. I don't want to, yeah, I don't want to instigate.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I don't want to circle back. Don't say, don't want to go back into that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like you're being watched by rats just off camera right now. That was that. You're like, I'm actually not allowed to talk about them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:34 You're not going to like what's on top of Blake's head then. Every TDZ episode is just his rat has been Blake being ratatooied. Talk about your thighs. Yeah. No, they will inherit the, like, when you read people describing, describing rat, talk about your thighs, got me. Describing rats, it's like, oh, they are so much more set for survival than we are.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Like, they're doing great. They can chew through anything. They can fit through a hole the size of a dime. They're unbelievable. Yeah. And they're not all uptight about living and, holes filled with dirt and shit
Starting point is 00:15:21 you know what's what's the rat saying is jack's positive words on them gonna save you in the end or no it's all done he's saying shut potatoes up shut them up this isn't gonna help you this isn't gonna help you
Starting point is 00:15:36 let him talk what's some few things underrated you know what I think is underrated and I always do you guys know I always do the same underrated overrated one one thing I think, well, I think it's overrated that all comedians of every level are shooting comedy specials. And I think it's underrated to shoot, to record albums. Like, people are not recording albums and they should.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Is that done? People aren't doing that anymore? People are, but not as often as they think they should be recording specials. And what's wild about specials is usually a specialist of visual entertainment. Right. And a lot of comics, they're not worth watching. They are worth listening to. Sure.
Starting point is 00:16:18 But like, if you don't have an act out or, like, there's no rush to record. Are they going to see me hump in the stool? Right, right, right. They can imagine it. Right. You know, like, I always think about how, like, some of the best stand-ups that did record comedy specials that were, didn't do much on stage with someone like Stephen Wright, but he was so interesting to watch.
Starting point is 00:16:36 And, like, every little thing he did was just an eyebrow move. It was like, that was worth watching. That makes sense because his delivery is so monotone. Like, every little physicality will enhance it. Contributes, but a lot of comics, they don't do anything physical, and it's really frustrating because it's like, you guys don't have to record comedy specials. Like the art of recording an album. And also, if people love, you know, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, all those legends that they claim to love, those guys record like 15, 18 albums. And I wish more people would record albums.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Why is the emphasis on the special over the, it's just marketing? It's like, well, everything's on social media. So you need it, you want a visual version you can clip out or? I think that's been part of it. That's what's kind of ruining. the vibe of what makes special specials. Right. But I also just, I don't think comics understand
Starting point is 00:17:22 that not everything needs to be in a special, but they think everything they do needs to be in a special. And I'm like, guys, you can record albums much faster, cheaper. Right. They last. In my opinion, they last longer because if you make a deal with someone and then those visuals get lost and you don't have the rights to them, it's fucked.
Starting point is 00:17:40 You're right. And you can record an independent album so much cheaper. and I feel like so many people are just, they all come out, they're all self-producing these specials, right? I feel like so many people are like, I put so much time and effort and money. Like whenever you see someone like launching their special
Starting point is 00:17:55 and I'm like, damn, brought that, that was something you got somebody else to pay for. Exactly. And that's the other side of it is like, why would you waste so much money on something that no, but there was no passion behind. No one is behind it except you.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's an album, bro. Put out an album. Right, right. And a lot of them aren't converting their specials into albums, which is another thing people used to do often was, you know, do the album, I mean, do their special.
Starting point is 00:18:17 And then, okay, and now we have the live version on vinyl or whatever. Right, right, right. I heard that, like, podcasts, which is a medium specifically for audio, even some of them are doing video versions. Yeah, yeah. People are. It's fucking the game up, man. Crazy.
Starting point is 00:18:31 I don't know why the fuck that's happening. Yeah, why would anybody be looking directly into the camera? Who would do that? Social media isn't completely upended at fucking everything. Yeah. Great point, Marcella. Yeah. Like always, bitch.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Mm-hmm. How good? That was Jack. The Boner knocks Come in Knocks thrice. The Boner knocks thrice. It's a gothic album about Marcella coming on this show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:57 The Bonner knocks. Dude. Sick. I love it. She is good at comedy. She's fucking sick, dude. So fucking funny. She's so quick.
Starting point is 00:19:10 She was so quick to get the coming on double and dundra. Oh, shit. The worst part about growing up with brothers is like, I'm always like waiting to see how quick the men around me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What you said? Oh, I thought you said. It's always that thing where I'm like, they can do it. There it is.
Starting point is 00:19:27 There it is. All right. I guess it's go on this ride together. It's going on this ride together. It's ride we call life. Let's take a quick break and then we'll go on a little ride we call life with the Logan brothers. We'll be right back. Behind every night spent making the kids lunches.
Starting point is 00:19:49 there's a lot of suspense. Will they finally eat the veggies? Will the pastos survive the first bite? Will the lunchbox come home empty, half full, or come home at all? And will you finish episode 8 before you're done slicing the cucumbers? Get Bell Pure Fiber Internet with craved Netflix and Disney Plus from $94 a month. Price guaranteed for two years on internet with a two-year term and auto pay credit. Visit bell.ca for details and to check availability. Bell, connection is everything. Lisa? We should tell them about our new show. Oh my god, Lexi. We have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi Youanu. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions. And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. I'm not going to get anywhere fighting. That is wild. I learned that about you today. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business.
Starting point is 00:20:50 And I've always got something to say. If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree. Because you told us how accommodating you are. Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Liar. Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I don't really care. Hi, this is Kylie Breakman. Angel Geratana.
Starting point is 00:21:29 Jeremy Colhane. Patrick McDonald. And we're the hosts of the Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists Podcast. The Improvised Character Comedy Podcast where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft. Join us for a panel of wellness influence. What I try to do is faux journal. I don't know. Have you guys heard of faux journaling? Yeah. It's reading. It's called reading. So you're so we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay. A panel of New Yorker cartoonists. Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class?
Starting point is 00:21:57 No! I've been dying too! I'm so sorry. I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the thousand paper cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th. That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30. No way. You have to come to the last bookstore, though. Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday. A panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes. Does the Pope dress up?
Starting point is 00:22:26 He winks on Halloween. It's right up next to the microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other. You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to artists on artists on artists on the I-Hard Radio. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:23:54 It can be putting your phone on, do not disturb. But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff. And understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. I'm Gemma Spag, the host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast. And each week, we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that you should, shape your 20s, from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are.

When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you. So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself, get to know yourself as well. By the time you get this letter, both Petra and I will be dead. Next stop, Wonderland. Patra and Michael were by all accounts healthy, happy, and in love. Why did they do it? And what did it do to the people they left behind?
Starting point is 00:26:16 I would have given a million reasons to not leave this world had I known. I keep coming back to I truly hope that Petra was a thousand percent on board with the plan. Do you think of him as having killed her? Yes, I do. I hold Michael responsible for my mother's staff. I'm Leon Nafeck. And I'm Alice Gregory. Starting point is 00:27:26 And if you Googled her two weeks ago, you probably would have found write-ups and bios talking about how she's a veteran high school teacher working predominantly with black youth in Philadelphia public schools. You would have read that she was organizing students to protest the genocide and also scholasticide, like the destruction of schools, as well as passionately defending colleagues that risk their careers to speak up. And you would have read that pro-Israeli groups parked a mobile billboard outside of the school she taught at that said Philadelphia is leading anti-Semite. Okay. So you're like, oh, shit, okay. So she's, she's about that. And you would have also read
Starting point is 00:28:03 that she is Palestinian and black. Her grandfather was born in Palestine but came to the United States. Well, it turns out that while her teaching accolades and activism were real, her identity was completely made up. Hanagan was not black, is not black, and she was not, is not Palestinian either. That grandfather she was talking about
Starting point is 00:28:26 was some guy who was born in Baltimore. Okay. I see where she was coming from. Baltimore's pretty active, to be fair. You're like, what the fuck? No, Hanagan is white, Jewish,
Starting point is 00:28:40 and actually comes from a wealthy family of Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Wow. Ah, the universe really gives. Yeah. Truly. Everyone collected,
Starting point is 00:28:50 it was like, huh? This all came out after like groups that she had worked with had heard about this and like basically grilled her for like
Starting point is 00:28:58 an hour asking about her background and I'll just read like what the, what happened during this like meeting. Well, members met with Hannah and questioned her
Starting point is 00:29:07 about her background on Thursday. After an hour of discussion, Hannah finally admitted she lied, the Radical Justice Organizing Committee and Philly Educators for Palestine said in a statement, Gann had been
Starting point is 00:29:16 visible member of both groups, quote, we asked her to publicly acknowledge that she is a white woman of Jewish heritage and an Israeli settler family. And so she's come out. She's made a statement in an Instagram post. She admitted the years long fabrication that said she was a, quote, white woman of significant privilege and wealth. Quote, I hid the truth or outright lied about my background to everyone in my life. There was not, there's not a single person on this planet, no friend, no fellow organizer, no one in my family, no professional connection, no secret op or handler who knew what I was doing. I hid my family's background from everyone in Philly and also hid from the people in my own family what I was doing. She said she, quote, allowed half truths and obfuscations to grow into
Starting point is 00:30:00 outright lies like when people think I'm from Philadelphia. Quote, genuinely wanted to commit to the work I was doing in spite of those lies. Now, what does this woman look like? She, okay, let me show you. Like, I can't picture anything. I picture Rachel Dolazol. Yeah. You're not that far off. Okay, here.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Oh, wait, hold on. The Philadelphia Inquirer just said, hey, well, let me just. Like, hey, you seem like you're really sick with this Philly shit, man. You want to subscribe? Oh, wow. Whoa. That's what she was. What?
Starting point is 00:30:37 So they were saying that she was using, like, she was using makeup. Yeah, you can tell. Yeah, she's orange. She's orange. She's orange. Yeah. If I was, I would have been like, oh, really? Where's your family from?
Starting point is 00:30:50 That's interesting. Interesting shade of orange that you are. Yeah. So this is obviously, like the betrayal has just shocked everybody that was working with her because they're like, I mean, she's so passionate about what she was doing. Right. And she was like, like, what is all this? You know, but again, I think we have this woman pretending to be black and Palestinian creating
Starting point is 00:31:10 like fake common ground. over oppression with her students, only to be unmasked as a LARPERS, is fucking diabolical. Yeah. Wow. I think, you know, even though she genuinely seems to have her heart in the right place,
Starting point is 00:31:23 like white supremacy has completely altered how she looks at oppression even. Right. Like, she felt that using these identities like interchangeably bolstered her case as an activist. Yeah. And she wanted to maintain. Also, she gets to maintain her whiteness by fighting white supremacy as a black Palestinian.
Starting point is 00:31:40 She's not a white person fighting white supremacist. She's not a traitor to her class or race. Which could have been more helpful in many ways. Yeah, it would have been more poignant. Instead, she uses a very disposable identity because now she gets to go back to her privileged life. Right. You know what I mean? It's like, I mean, I don't know if her parents, like her parents are like, Hannah.
Starting point is 00:32:01 What do you do as a parent? I mean, the thing is, as a parent, like, you've sown that seat. Like, there's no way the family's normal. Oh, they're settlers. They're really settlers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Also, that's like narcissism. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:15 That's like the kind of family like where like I've, you know, you know people in like high pressure families like where they can't tell their parents anything. Right. Yeah, yeah. Because they're like, dude, I guess I'd rather just say I'm black and Palestinian at this point than like to even talk to my family. But yeah, I think it's just a very, again, looks at even to her like being a black
Starting point is 00:32:35 Palestinian is like a disposable identity. Even just to be like, oh, well, it's like a tool I can use for the. this very specific purpose. But even then, it's so misguided. Because, like, to your point, you should be doing that as like an outspoken Israeli. Sure. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Being like, this is what my family is. And I can tell that it's wrong. Yeah. And I don't, yeah. Like, you don't have to then start using shitty, you know, CVS Tanner and shit and makeup and trying to be like, anyway, girl, because they said after she came back from teaching, she's doing like peace core work, I think, in Rwanda. Like, there was a, like, kind of a reset where people did.
Starting point is 00:33:10 didn't know her. Yeah. And then she kind of was like in these spaces, kind of using AAVE a little bit more talking like a, you know, black woman and then the Palestinian. And she just kind of like let that snowball into this thing now. I had a fake accent for like six months. Really? Well, I'm just.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Can we hear it? I'm only, I'm only trying to tell you because it's like people love to reimagine themselves. Yeah, yeah. But like, they're not comparing. wearing my fake accent. Wait, hold on. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:33:42 Yours isn't because you're doing activism. I'm trying to relate of like how does the like how mentally ill are you? I would guess I was pretty mentally ill when I was faking this accent for six months. I think because it's probably harder. It's because it is harder to betray your people in the face of an injustice. It's easier to be like, well, I'm black and Palestinian. Of course this is some bullshit going on. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:07 Fuck all this. And it gets to feel heroic in the moment. Yeah. opposed to like being, you know, uncomfortable and being like, this is who I am. This is who my family is. She doesn't want to be a gentrifier going to your neighbor going, oh, my God, sorry. Sorry. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:18 100%. So it's even like, man, get these motherfuckers out of here. Right. And it's like, well, isn't that you? So is Rachel Dolazol now like a more accepted? Do you think in society? Like, do you feel like people have come around to her now that she's like done only fans? Like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:36 I don't know if the only fans helped. I mean, it might be helping her financially, but I feel like she's, I mean, I just tried to Google what she was doing, but now everybody's calling this lady Rachel Dolishol. So she just pops up. I think a lot of time has passed. And this is more harmful because there's like. Rachel Dolazzo somewhere just feeling like, oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Damn, got that bump, but it ain't me anymore. But also, damn, now I'm a word. Yeah, you are. I mean, yeah, you always work. Yeah, you are. Yeah, it's just a very, again, it's like, yeah. And it's just, I feel bad these students. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:35:11 Yeah, that's rough. I don't think people, like, if you really think about what it takes for a student to open up to a teacher and be like, yeah, like, I'm going to be receptive to what you're saying. I'll be vulnerable with you so we can create some kind of connection. To use race in like such a, like, diabolically, uh, cynical, two-faced way is so fucking terrible. Like, I really feel for these students because like, now you're like, who the fuck were you? It's like a really fucked version of that children's book. Miss Nelson is missing where like, do you remember that one?
Starting point is 00:35:42 No. It's like this blonde teacher has like a bad class and then she disappears. Oh, and like this like scary witch comes in is like the new substitute teacher, but it's actually the blonde lady in like basically witch face. Oh shit. I didn't know that. Real mind. I know when I looked up the picture, I'm like, yes.
Starting point is 00:36:03 I know this. I know this book very well. I know this book very well. She's just trying on a new little persona. She's trying something on and just larping in the face of like a very, very, as Ed Shearne would call it the most complex political issue on her. Oh my God. But yeah. So it's, we'll see, we'll see where she goes or this.
Starting point is 00:36:22 Apparently she's trying to just be like, yeah, I fucked up. I fucked up. I fucked up. I fucked up bad. But, I mean, that's that. We'll see what happens. We will see. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:31 We will see. Maybe she'll have a show on like Fox or something. Probably. Yeah. Or even MS now. You know, who knows? We believe in the ability to rehabilitate. She'll star in the next Daily Wire movie as like one of the people for the
Starting point is 00:36:43 Fidel's to kill. You never know. All right. We do have to talk about this Nathan Field or Elizabeth Holmes documentary. You can see everything just dropped a new trailer where we got to see more parts and got to see a little bit more of everything. Yeah. And it's, it didn't make me feel less weird.
Starting point is 00:37:02 No, I'm unwell. Yeah. No, the first one, like the first teaser we got was just a very tense interaction, right? Yeah, sure. Between the two. This time, like, you're getting more, it's like a full trailer, so you're getting a real breath of what this project might look like. And I don't know if, like, Nathan Fielder's in trouble. If Elizabeth Holmes is it?
Starting point is 00:37:21 I don't know what's going on, but every single thing they just sort of revealed was. Yeah. Shocking. It was giving me goosebumps. The husband being a part, I didn't know anything, obviously. but I didn't even know anything about her husband. Yes. But like now I'm dying to see it.
Starting point is 00:37:40 The husband thing is so Nathan Fielder's like, so you fell in love with her. He's like, fell in love with her right away. He was like, was that before or after you knew who she was? That was Beno was before. It was before. Which is like, how? Yeah. Where were you during the, when she was like on the cover of every magazine for like
Starting point is 00:38:00 being a scammer? But anyways. And then he's like, And you weren't, when you found out, you weren't worried that she was like coming after you for a reason. And he's like, what would she be using me for? And he's like, isn't your family rich? And he's like, and he goes, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:16 But like, there's like levels to it. Like we're, yeah, we're rich. We're not like oligarchs. We're like petite oligarchs. Yeah, great insight into like the mind of somebody with generational wealth. Yeah, yeah. Who goes like? Yeah, but we're not like the DuPont.
Starting point is 00:38:33 months. It's like, we have like hundreds of millions of dollars. Yeah, like 900 million, 50,000, 50 million probably. All told. Right. I'm sorry, that's what it's in my trust. In my trust is 950 million. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:45 That's the most of that access to. We don't want that billionaire tax. But yeah, seeing that was just to see like also that like, it's not just her lying to herself. There's this partner now who like now you're fascinated by like how much do you realize. And you can tell like Nathan's trying to kind of be like, you don't think she's ever lied to you right like just kind of taking him aside it's and like I feel like she's also even though he's probably the worst person like she's conning him but I also
Starting point is 00:39:14 feel like she's conning Nathan yeah like there's no world where he's conned by her but like it but that's what it made me feel right like I feel crazy all of the like the quotes that came up during the trailer also were bone chilling for me bone chilling I've never seen quotes come up like from critics on a trailer. Usually it's like five stars. This is a good movie. But this one is always like I'm having an existential crisis.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Roger Ebert like no other film I've ever experienced. Interesting. They're all like, I'm kind of feel fucked. Yeah. Yeah. There was one that was like I will be thinking for this, about this movie for the rest of my life. What was it? Variety. It said a this is This was the variety quote, a weirder and weirder journey than anyone might expect.
Starting point is 00:40:07 And like the one you were talking about, wait, where is it? Someone outright masterpiece. Oh, yeah. This was from awards radar. I may think about this movie for the rest of my life.
Starting point is 00:40:17 That's the best blurb you could ever get. That really is. And like it's also not necessarily complimentary. No, no, no, no. I mean, not that it's bad for the film,
Starting point is 00:40:26 but like just like the content was so jarring probably. It feels like probably the way people reacted at that first season of the rehearsal. Oh my God. Oh, Nathan's like some kind of genius here. And like I can't. Like a sicko too. Yeah, just odd.
Starting point is 00:40:40 But the way he's arriving at these things is so odd and roundabout. But like I can only imagine with this and Lance Oppenheim who's just a great director too. Yeah. I rode in an elevator with Nathan Fielder once and he was facing the back. He was facing like the wall. The people. Oh, like he got in the elevator. The doors closed and he's like.
Starting point is 00:41:01 And he faced me. The door was like this. It closed. Yeah. And he didn't look at the door. Yeah. He just faced the people that were away. It was amazing.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Were you at like an agency office? It was like, yeah. It was like, yeah, yeah. I was going to say like I feel like that's the only place I've seen Nathan Filder who was like I was at a meeting. Was he making eye contact with you? Um, I was too anxious to make eye contact back. But yeah, he was just kind of staring back at people. That's interesting.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Not a lot of people do that. No. No, nobody does that. I think, no fucking crazy. Nobody does that. You're right. Guys, we should do it and see what happens. I believe you get your ass kicked.
Starting point is 00:41:37 Yeah, no, totally. I guess what if you come in? Is there a way you could walk in with your back to the door and kind of play it cool? You got to say something. You can't just do it and I say you got to be like, hey, you know? Or like, how's everybody doing? Does the door close and like you lean on it? Like James Dean's style?
Starting point is 00:41:53 That's the scariest. It's walking your way. Yeah, I'm sorry. Yeah, I didn't think about that. No one's getting out. Hey, lady, you think this is cool. I'm blocking the elevator doors to you and me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:07 My God. Yeah, I saw him live once. And all he did was get up on stage, perform a Lana Del Rey song while making unblinking eye contact with the crowd in very slow, like the most uncomfortable five minutes. Like a cappella? Yeah. Well, the backing track, but just sitting there, like, dancing slowly, sang the Lana Del Rey song, like, looking at everybody.
Starting point is 00:42:28 And then spent the whole thing being like, so I'm kind of good at, like, finding. interesting people and like just was like looking into the crowd like shielding his eyes from the light looking into the crowd and then just pulling people up and like two out of the three were like probably the weirdest people in the crowd and like he he can just like find them he like interviewed them and the third that wasn't the most interesting person like halfway through like you know five minutes into the conversation he was like oh you're drunk sorry sometimes it's i get confused i think they're interesting and they're actually drunk Whoa.
Starting point is 00:43:02 He's like a psychic. He's like, he has this weird. I think maybe that's what's so wild about this trailer is because like everyone's already in awe of Nathan Fielder in that way. And everyone's in awe on another weird way of with Elizabeth Holmes. And to see them interact where Nathan Fielder is somehow in the back foot. Yeah. It's like, you're like, what?
Starting point is 00:43:23 No, no. Usually like you're dancing circles around weird people on camera. And you're in this one. You're genuinely like, fuck. I think I may have met my match. Yeah. He seems highly skeptical. And she's in jail now, yeah?
Starting point is 00:43:38 Yeah. So this was filmed right as she was about to go to jail. Over three years. Yeah. Or they've been working on the last three years. But like Nick has not leaked one like, damn. No. Not like in that sense.
Starting point is 00:43:49 There was a time where people saw Nathan outside of the jail. Uh-huh. And people were like, why is Nathan feel like outside the jail? Holding a boombox that was playing your eyes. I was raining. I think you might be. be compromised. But yeah, like that was the closest, like, that was the only thing I could connect
Starting point is 00:44:06 where I was like, oh, that's right. He was at that jail. And you're like, oh, this must have been for that. There is, for fans, long-time fans of his work, you get a little treat because it has him laying in bed with the couple, like doing the sort of side saddle thing, which he loves. He loves to sit, yeah, he loves to do like a weird, like laying in bed with people. It just looks so weird. And I can only imagine how, again, I'm so curious to see it.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Because I feel like you're going to see moments where like he's probably suggesting a way to do an interview and there's like pushback or whatever. Just seeing all these little micro interactions, I think is fascinating. Because I mean, we're all just looking at Elizabeth Holmes's face. I feel we all have the same reaction for that last shot when she was like, oh, my God, what does she say? I have trouble. I've never. It took me a really long time to be okay with letting someone see me cry. And then like, wills the tears.
Starting point is 00:45:00 Like, yeah, every. And then, that, one. It was, we were cheering in like a, like a way like we saw like a sharky to seal. Yeah. We're like, oh. And the, you know, audio, the soundtrack when the tear comes is like the omen. It's like, don't. That's the tear rolls on her face.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Like, she modeled a lot of her shit off of Steve Jobs. And we did a Steve Jobs icon episode. And a thing that people who worked with him talked about was a thing called the reality distortion field where he you would like be in a room with him and you'd know he was lying to you like he'd be taking credit for an idea you pitched him yesterday and he was like that idea fucking sucks get out of here you come in the next day and he's pitching an idea to you the same idea to you and a room full of people and people are like but you like believe him like he he has this like weird form of sociopathy where like you believe it like to the point that
Starting point is 00:46:00 everybody who worked with him had a phrase for it called the reality distortion field where you just like when you're around him you're like in this different thing and it takes you like a week of not being around him to be like wait that was fucking crazy yeah yeah yeah and so i feel like she is like that's kind of what i'm reminded of you're not even like a wannabe of you know what i mean like she's got the gift well we felt that after watching us seven second trailer yeah right right Like, yeah. It's insane. I think like, oh, no, I could, that I would never.
Starting point is 00:46:31 Yeah, right. And you do. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's like, you know, like any kind of people like, people like negotiate, like you call about framing and stuff. Like how like you just already sort of, you're actually dictating what the parameters are of an interaction.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Yeah. And she's just mastered that in a way where just like, just like when he's clear like, are you lying to me? And she's like, no. How would I lie to you? Wow. I have nothing to lie to you about. There's part of me that's,
Starting point is 00:46:56 a psychopath that wishes I could be like that. I never could. It's cool. I mean, look, you look up to that. I mean, let's think about the documentary. I mean, like, no. Like, I would never be like that.
Starting point is 00:47:09 I'm like a kind person, but like, I'm like, I want to experience manipulation. Yeah, yeah. On that's, but on that scale. No, not on that scale. I wish. I mean, I wish I could do something like on that scale. It takes way too much energy.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Well, I think like in relation to Warnos, I do feel like, were this a guy should probably just be a billionaire right now who's like at the forefront of AI or some shit. You know, like I do think that the reason we're fascinated in that is because it is just like a superpower in America.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Yeah. Like having the ability to... It is very American. You're right. Oh, it's just be full of shit and collect money. Yeah. In a way that you can like convince everybody and yourself of whatever is beneficial
Starting point is 00:47:55 for you to believe in this moment? Well, I'm thinking now like Hitler. Mm-hmm. I mean, like, it's not like quintessential American. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Amazing dictators. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Amazing dictators. Go. Go. All fantasy, everything. She's your favorite. Yeah. I want to go up with Pol Pot first. Unexpected.
Starting point is 00:48:19 I know, dude. Wait, who is that? I don't know who that is. I don't either. I got to go, I'm going to Google it. Let's see. But yeah, I mean, I think it is like, It is this thing that in America, we just love a fucking liar.
Starting point is 00:48:30 You know what I mean? In this weird way. Like think of like, you know, catch me if you can. Yeah. Pretty much. Everything. Yeah, everything like all the characters, Leonardo DiCaprio is played. Like when you played Jordan, what's his face and both a wall street?
Starting point is 00:48:43 We kind of are like. The best. Fuck yeah, dude. Yeah, yeah. Although with Pheranos, it's more people are like, what the, because I think it was such a blatant, like, being like, there's no fucking machine. There's no technology. But in the same way, I mean, I don't know, we're all experiencing some level of that.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Just, you know, it's like a magic trick. Yeah. Yeah, it is. It's like they're magicians. Yeah. Her voice is not as low as it used to be, though. But it is. It's still low, but I find it fascinating.
Starting point is 00:49:12 If it had been like, so, I would have been like, oh. It's just trying to go lower. It's so weird. Right, right. It's like right at this level where I'm like, isn't that her voice? Like, I feel like she's mastered it. Totally. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:24 And it almost feels like because of. like the sort of like PR marketing version of the Theranos Elizabeth Holmes we've seen. Yeah. It almost feels like, oh, are you being real now? Yeah. In a weird way. Like it's like you, she seems a little more like soothing. Yes.
Starting point is 00:49:38 But underneath it, it's like feels like you're still like in a tank with a great white. It's saying she's a mother. Yeah. Oh yeah. That poor, poor baby. Yeah. Well, I don't think the baby will be poor because the husband's right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:52 I wouldn't worry about that. We're going to be all right. Yeah. Let's take a quick break. We'll come back and talk about more cinema. Behind every night spent making the kids' lunches, there's a lot of suspense. Will they finally eat the veggies?

Starting point is 00:54:17 And understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. Starting point is 00:55:16 It's real. Those are the very people who I always say vote against their own economic interest and they complain about the very thing to receive. It's raw. I knew that the issue of transgender athletes was not going well with a lot of black men. Roland Martin unfiltered. I went off, I said, this is exactly what I'm talking about. In February of 2024, celebrated illustrator and children's book author Patramathers
Starting point is 00:56:11 and her husband Michael nailed letters to dozens of friends and family members to let them know that they had died by suicide. By the time you get this letter, both Petra and I will be dead. next stop, Wonderland. Patra and Michael were by all accounts healthy, happy, and in love. Why did they do it? And what did it do to the people they left behind?
Starting point is 00:56:32 I would have given a million reasons to not leave this world had I known. I keep coming back to, I truly hope, that Petra was a thousand percent on board with the plan. Do you think of him as having killed her? Yes, I do. I hold Michael responsible from him. other stuff. I'm Leon
Starting point is 00:56:53 Nafeck. And I'm Alice Gregory. Together we set out to interview everyone who got one of Patriot and Michael's letters as one married couple, trying to understand another. Listen to death of an artist on the Iheart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back.
Starting point is 00:57:17 Oh man. I just flew in from boob heaven. Yeah. And boy, are my legs tired. For some reason. Boy, are my arms spiders. Who says that? Who says that? Someone has that. I'm joking, boy, are my arms spiders.
Starting point is 00:57:34 Sorry, yep. Oh, Jesus Christ. We're having fun, are we folks? Oh, yeah. All right. Let's talk about, we talked yesterday about how the polling is not looking great for the Republicans in terms of the midterms. Yeah. But what the fuck the polls know.
Starting point is 00:57:51 Yeah, they're saying enthusiasm to vote for a Republican party and, you know, Trump nominees is down. But what do they know? you know? Mm-hmm. Like you go out, you see these crowds that this guy's able to get. You see J.D. Vance up there killing with his fart left, far-left joke. Yep. God, that was good.
Starting point is 00:58:12 That was so good. That was so fucking good. Is that like one of those things where you're a stand-up, and you're just like, oh, on the one hand, you're happy for him? And like, you're laughing so hard. On the other hand, you're sick with jealousy. So when we were in the room writing that, it was, I would say, It was a long day.
Starting point is 00:58:29 We were probably in the 11th hour. And Greg Gutfeld had pitched something similar to that earlier in the day. And we had been workshopping and perfecting it. There were 50 of us in the room. And we finally. Comedy assassins, 50 comedy, Joe Rogan's comedy assassins in there. I love it.
Starting point is 00:58:48 I think a few, exactly. I think a few years from now we'll appreciate it more once we have some separation from it. Because like right now you just think about the work, obviously. Right, right. But yeah, rather than the fruits of your labor. But we're, I mean, obviously it was a great joke. It was a great joke. It was a great joke.
Starting point is 00:59:02 What I said? Well, can I just, so this was my guess at how it came. Yeah, go ahead. Yeah. Right. So far left, far left is like the first idea. Really funny. Everybody starts laughing.
Starting point is 00:59:12 They're like, write that down, pissing shit in themselves. Like can't, you know, have to clean up. Forget about it. Like, why would we bring that up again? It's just going to make a mess. And then. To tempt him to build. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:23 Gutfeld. And I heard Gutfeld's voice in this. So I'm glad you confirmed that it was stuff up, comes back and says, what if after the laughter dies down or after just like a long pause for laughter that doesn't happen? What if he comes back and draws attention to it? And says, I don't know if you heard that. But I said, you thought I said far left. And I don't miss it. What I said is far left. And the media is going to say that I did that on purpose. but I didn't.
Starting point is 00:59:55 And like that's, that's what really packs the comedy in. Because those are different words. And then like just over explain it a little bit. Yeah. You are correct. So that was that is, so that was what most of the day was,
Starting point is 01:00:08 is discussing how we do that. And also was pitched where you do a similar thing, far left, more like fart left. And then laughter, obviously 10 minutes of laughter straight. And then you come back and you just go, and then like that was something that J.D.
Starting point is 01:00:23 wanted to do and obviously it's a collaborative process but I think there was a time restriction sure the speech is maybe what the issue was so you know leave them wanting more which I think is leave them laughing could they even handle more yeah do right would you actually kill people with if he did that you know would physically die they would yeah yeah okay anyways so yeah great vote people vote with their money with their butts right I made that sound like they're like but You know what I? Like people, butts in seats, spending money on these tickets or just like going to see these people. So they had a great opportunity to prove that all this bad polling is bullshit, fake news, fake liberal.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Fake reality. Yeah. So Freedom Fest. We've all, we've all got our calendars marked for September 26th, Saturday, September 26th, 2020s. This Saturday. Kid Rock is the headliner. Yeah. His feature, like the openers are a bunch of politicians. Yeah. For some reason. And also dog the bounty hunter.
Starting point is 01:01:35 Yep. So. Can we talk about how that's formatted? Well, yeah. This is clearly an AI generated flyer for the fucking thing. So it makes no sense. So it'll be like James Comer, lower third U.S. Congressman.
Starting point is 01:01:49 then you get down to then there's also someone from Fox News like just underneath you got a real easy Joe Concha Fox News Jackie Count, first lady of boxing Dog the Bounty Hunter
Starting point is 01:02:05 Right His name is dog the His name is dog the His profession His bounty hunter It's me dog the That is actually so funny Dogg
Starting point is 01:02:15 Dogg the proper Again Dog the bounty The Bounty Hunter or Dog the Bounty Hunter celebrity TV personality. You know what I mean? But whatever the AI got really fucked up there, they're like, fuck, man, it's right there. He's a bounty hunter and his name's Dog the. I'm actually stuck in a logic loop over here.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Like, I don't know what to do with that. Dog the bounty hunter, bounty hunter. Fuck. I think that's it. Yeah. Dog the bounty hunter. Mm-hmm. I think that's it.
Starting point is 01:02:45 I think that's it. I just like that you can change with anything like dog the racist. or whatever. So I'm not mad at this naming convention. It's malleable. His first name is Dogva. It's Dwayne. That'd be funny, though.
Starting point is 01:02:58 For those of us to watch the show. When it came out. Anyways. Dwayne Chapman is his name. I'm assuming our numbers are going to be down for this episode as our listeners are having to spend all day changing travel plans because it was just announced that this shit got canceled. It's fucking terrible. Host Republican gubernatorial candidate Eric Dieterz canceled the event after only six $1,000 VIP tickets were sold. And I just want to read his statement.
Starting point is 01:03:36 Dude, the whole thing is crazy. Yeah. I am never, ever, ever, ever, ever doing this event again. When I put together Patriot State Freedom Fest, I put it together with the game plan and the idea that I could pay for it with the VIP sales of $1,000 from these hundred people that I interact with on a regular basis that have money. On a regular basis that have money. It's so funny. Dude, the whole thing he goes, quote, it's Monday morning.
Starting point is 01:04:15 I got my guy who's setting up the ticket sales. I said, how many have bought a ticket? And he said, you can't make this up. Are you ready for the drum roll? Only six people had bought a VIP ticket. Out of all these people that have money that I interact with, who I do favors for all day long, they ask me for something.
Starting point is 01:04:34 I never say no. I never said no to these people. None of these people will ever, ever, ever, ever, ever get a favor from me again, ever. Not only will they never get a favor from me again, They do not have bulldog immunity. What? That lasso caught me off guard. So is he maybe the bulldog and they're not immune to him?
Starting point is 01:04:58 Yeah. Maybe. I mean, y'all fucked up. Yeah. His, like, I'll just play a random part of this Facebook statement he was making. The title of it was like,
Starting point is 01:05:08 this may be the longest, my longest Facebook live ever, but he's just, he's just hooting and hollering about, I don't even know what. I'll just go to a random part, but he looks animated. Always support this event, always turn out. Folks, where is there an event that has five on the low side,
Starting point is 01:05:26 15,000 on the high side people? It doesn't happen very often unless President Trump's there. So he just keeps going on about he's like, I've done stuff before on, because this was taking place at his farm. He's like, I've done stuff at my farm before and people come. But again, I think to your point, Jack, there's no enthusiasm. And also B, all of these people don't realize no one has money. need to spend on your dumb fuck freedom festival.
Starting point is 01:05:50 And even if they did, the gas, like, it's, this is just, I don't know who has the disposable income to do this. Even, even with the offering of free camping, like you said, on the flyer. Free camping. You guys can sleep outside on my farm. You guys got no excuse. I will let you sleep outside on my farm. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:09 In September. Yeah. Full on driveway access. That's right. Free camping is a. wild thing to claim as an amenity. How many of the 100 people that that I talk to interact with on a regular basis that have money are just like AI bots that are trying to scam him?
Starting point is 01:06:31 Like I think we're learning 94 of them. Yeah. I think he's also a victim of like the right wing media sphere that has people thinking like there's way like there's way more people and enthusiasm than. it actually is. So he's out here being like, oh man, like, yeah, this is, this is going to be crazy because you're all hopped up on fucking newsmax and shit.
Starting point is 01:06:54 And not realizing if you engage, like, with real people, even the ones that who like Donald Trump, they'd also be telling you about how they are really having trouble making ends meet. But I just love like, it's, this is the same thing as that Charlie Kirk statue all over again. We're like that, you know, the art, like some asshole just gets too big for their britches and thought that because they know people,
Starting point is 01:07:16 with money, they will just piss it away on like a shitty statue or like a joke of a festival. But I guess that's also like their ethos. It's like, never own your own failures. Never own your failures. Always piss and moan about someone else. It reminds me of like the Tim Robinson
Starting point is 01:07:34 sketch where John Early is like, I don't want to do it. I'm not going to do it. And then he's like, fuck, I should have lied. He's just explaining like his skeez. Like, I was going to milk these people I know who have money for the whole thing. Just a hundred of them. It would have been a hundred grand right there. Right in my pocket.
Starting point is 01:07:55 Sweet, sweet cash. I was doing this to make money off these rich people that I do favors for. Oh, fuck. Am I not supposed to be saying this out loud? Wait, weren't you a candidate for governor? Nah. Dash. I didn't promise nothing.
Starting point is 01:08:10 Okay. Sure. Sure. Okay, Eric. Well, I mean, he's he said luxury goods for people who are into mega is not is not the great. No, because there's not even a market for general luxury goods. You know what I mean? Like, so then you're going to shrink it down by even like a larger portion.
Starting point is 01:08:34 Even like the wealthy Trump supporters are disgusted by general like most Trump supporters, you know, they're not, they're not here to be like, yeah. And then I'm going to go to the infield at the Kentucky Derby. Right. Yeah. They're taking a helicopter. You got to think, Eric, think about, ask yourself this question. Would Miriam Adelson show up to this? Right.
Starting point is 01:08:56 Because if the answer is no, then, bro, you aren't, it ain't good. You got, you're going to have to bring the level up to Miriam Adelson or, you know, the people who run U-Line, like all those, the shipping material companies, like those huge donors. If you can get them, that's the people you got to get activated. Not your friends who told you, yeah, I'll give you a thousand bucks, Eric, sure. Damn, Kid Rock's going to be so disappointed, as is Dog the. Dog the. It does suck to have a nickname that, like, can't be brought up. Like, Kid Rock, you can be like, that's kid, you know.
Starting point is 01:09:28 Well, dog. Dog. Yeah, if they're going to do it, it should have just been dog underneath the bounty hunter. But again, this is AI. And so if you dog the lower third bounty hunter. Yeah, I don't know why I didn't think of that. Dog the bounty? Well, there's the answer.
Starting point is 01:09:50 There it is. There's the goddamn answer. All right. Let's talk Waymos real quick. Yeah. You got them in New York? You got them in New York? First of all, they up in New York, New Jersey area, Waymos?
Starting point is 01:10:02 Probably not. Are they? I haven't seen any. No, we have those delivery bots. Yeah, yeah. You've never seen a ghost car driving around with them. When you were out here, they probably had some. some waymos, but since then, now, there's way...
Starting point is 01:10:16 They're fucking everywhere. Oh, you fuck. That's right. And I actually just, we don't have a story. Let's go. We don't have a story. I just did the whole thing just to say that. Damn it again.
Starting point is 01:10:27 You're disgusting. You're a disgusting guy. You're a really bad guy. I hope you're fucking happy, man. You know, your kids are going to hear this one day, right? I do worry about that all the time. They have been asking, like, what is the Daily's? Like, can I hear it?
Starting point is 01:10:43 And I'm like, no, you're going to see a side of your dad that will make you respect him less and yourselves. Yeah. Anyways. So they're all over the place. These waymores. The waymores. Yeah. The waymores.
Starting point is 01:11:01 The argument for them is like they're not going to crash into people. Like they always make the right decision because they are a computer. And we'll get to that. One thing that I've been noticing, and Miles, I'm curious. if you're seeing this, is that the way people interact with them because they know that, like, they get stuck sometimes
Starting point is 01:11:19 or they, like, do, they're very conservative about the way they drive. They create, like, chaotic driving around them. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. People are just like, well, this thing's fucking slow and an idiot. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:30 It, like, doesn't, like, make a left on right on a yellow. I saw a guy almost, like, ready a piss bag to throw it a Waymo because it was doing this thing where it was trying to pick up someone on the corner and it threw the car off. so bad it didn't know how close to get to the corner while not being in traffic to your point and just caused a bottleneck where people were just like driving around it and like the car was freaking out because it was just setting off way too many sensors but yeah people are I'm not a fan and I'm also still none of my friends we keep asking each other like are you gonna take one of these and we're all just like fuck no dude I'd rather a drunk human than a computer I would not rather a drug human but I would just Jack, we all have our own calculus, man. Yeah, Jack.
Starting point is 01:12:16 I think you seated the high ground when you made that way more fucking joke a few minutes ago. So why don't we Yeah, why am I on trial for having drunk drivers take me around? There's way, Mo, where that came from on to the side of with miles. They're fine, man. Put me in a
Starting point is 01:12:32 real fucking weird position. Hey, as long as you don't stink like it, then, hey, nobody's hurt. That's right. As long as the old lady doesn't start complaining about how much you smell. like whiskey. So in terms of how well they're doing as drivers, because that is the thing. It's like, well, one thing I can tell you for sure is you're going to get where you're going safely is a recent report. They were just introduced in Denver and a Waymo just drove through a farmer's market in Denver
Starting point is 01:13:02 on Sunday. Like leisurely, not like a elderly. At a leisurely pace. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was not like hitting the gas while trying to hit the break. But it seems bad that like not, not a good precedent, I would say. No. Cars and farmers markets usually are terrifying headlights. Yeah, that's usually not worse. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:22 Yeah. Yeah. In response, the cops are doing absolutely nothing because under current Colorado law, there is no way for police to cite the vehicle for it. Oh, hell yeah. This is like a straight up airbud situation. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This is a PG movie. Listen to this. This is, this is no,
Starting point is 01:13:44 rule says a dog can't play ball. This is, this is an actual quote from a police spokesperson said, if there's no driver, there currently isn't a mechanism within state law for issuing a citation. So, so am I going to do, give the car a ticket? Yeah. Anyways, we'll be over here. These don't have companies, right? This is just a. isolated car driving with no driver. What? Yeah, I don't understand like how, I mean, it's the perfect crime. Right.
Starting point is 01:14:17 Just with amazing oversight from the state. Well, it is in the sense that the only people with rights in this country are corporations, which aren't actually people, but legally they are. This is not an oversight. Oh. You know, because nobody anticipated self-car driving cars existing. People knew this was happening, and it can be traced back to the 2017 state law. which first allowed autonomous vehicles to operate in Colorado as long as they are capable of following state and federal traffic laws.
Starting point is 01:14:45 But it did not, quote, establish a way to cite the vehicle or the company operating it when a violation occurs because corporations are more important than someone who might get bounced off the hood of a moving vehicle, for instance. That's right. Well, good. I'm glad they made it real nice and easy to have an unaccountable. autonomous vehicle on their road by any means, yeah, great. And they've just granted it the legal right to have the Super Mario
Starting point is 01:15:17 Brother star where it will be flashing and it can just go through anything and people will just be bouncing off of it and it just doesn't matter. Yeah, you don't want to get near that thing. Waymo was literally doing the nice. Waymo was literally doing the thing where they're like,
Starting point is 01:15:32 it actually, we talked to the police and they said it doesn't matter. Like the police like don't care about. They said these people who we almost hit aren't corporations. So like they don't matter. They don't matter. We just like could keep going.
Starting point is 01:15:49 Are they in house? No. Not even like that. They're just like so low like nobody cares about them. So it's fine. Okay. My God. That's horrible.
Starting point is 01:16:00 Yeah. They have. So like again, this is a problem that Waymo will have to fix. because it's a bad look, but not for any legal liability reasons. I'll just have to be like, man, we kind of look stupid. We should probably make sure they don't drive through a farmer's market again. Yeah. We don't want to get made fun of.
Starting point is 01:16:21 Yeah, exactly. By the other autonomous vehicles. Yeah. Teasing them. All right. That's going to do it for this week's weekly zeitgeist. Please like and review the show if you like the show. means the world demiles. He needs your validation, folks. I hope you're having a great weekend,
