Starting point is 00:01:21 Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio apps, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports. Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry, Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese. Every great player needs a foil. I know I'll go down in history. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game. Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports. Listen to the making of a rivalry, Caitlin Clark versus Angel Reese,
Starting point is 00:01:52 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of iHeart Women's Sports. We'll trend it live. We'll trend it live. Zite it. We'll trend it live. We'll trend it live. Zite it. We'll trend it live. I can. I'll write it
Starting point is 00:02:09 and we'll trend it live. Zitin. Zitin thing sucks. That is courtesy of Paul Garaventa. A little. We'll fuck it. We'll do it live.
Starting point is 00:02:21 A little Trill O'Reilly for you. A little Trill O'Reilly. One of the greats to ever do it live. A little Trill O'Reilly for you. A little Trill O'Reilly. One of the greats to ever do it. Scumbag. Yeah, scumbag. Yeah, scumbag. I didn't realize that was the name for a condom.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Yeah, fucking scumbag. Yeah, that's what it is. It's very gross. Very gross. It's one of those gross sounding phrases that when you find out what it means, it's even grosser. Like a scumbag, you're like, yeah, you scumbag. And you're like, no, no, no. Look at this scumbag.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Talking about a popped-off Connie. That's what we're talking about. Gross. I'm Jack. I don't use street lingo. I didn't get too technical with the description. Is it a popped-off Connie? Yeah, yeah. uh i'm jack street lingo i didn't say you know i didn't get too technical with the description yeah yeah no just the whole conversation not great you're miles right yes that is hey nice to meet you jack great to meet you good to be here all right well uh it is 420 let's get right into it yep it's 420 cool it's 420 very cool very cool my favorite tweets today have been the people
Starting point is 00:03:27 slamming 420 and weed culture those have actually been the most interesting uh i think contributions on twitter today uh so i thank y'all um sarah squirm was like i can't think of anything worse than like literally weed worse thanorse than weed? Yeah. I mean, she's being Sarah Squirm, but there's this. Literally weed is the worst. It's the worst thing you could ever do. But yeah, 420, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:55 it will. I think we sort of slightly touch on it on tomorrow's episode about, you know, what will the federal government do about legalization? Will they wait till it's,
Starting point is 00:04:04 you know, super, super? So it's a great opportunity to prop up some poll numbers. But really, will I think with any talk of weed legalization, like many people point towards the activists like, OK, well, what do you do about every single person who's in prison for weed? But yeah. And I think also, look, if you're out there on 420, try and find a dispensary that is owned and operated by a person of color. They may not be bountiful where you're at, but honestly, that's the least you can do is to try and find a shop. So you're actually, you know, your money is going to a community that is being devastated by terrible drug policy. But anyway, enjoy your Wednesday. to see but anyway enjoy your Wednesday it's hard it's hard to have a like a part a day that celebrates any kind of consumption on the middle of the week so you know kick back relax and maybe
Starting point is 00:04:52 watch a movie like I will watch the Batman yes you haven't seen it yet right no I think I'm gonna try it feels like a bad one to watch while high although I guess for me i'll be the judge of that for me i'm like it needs to be exactly the right weed movie if i were if i were going to try that oh man yeah yeah i'm at that point jack where everything is a weed movie yeah i guess that's fair i did have a run there where i was like yeah I don't really want to watch a movie if I'm not high. Right, right, right. Yeah, that happens. That happens. But no, you know.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Also, you know, on the subject of me being bad at smoking weed and like just like getting in my own head, like as opposed to having fun like other people. I'm told other people do. I learned on a recent recording of Boosties that Allen Iverson smoked a blunt with Biggie once, and it fucked him up so bad that he thought he saw Janet Jackson in a poster of an alien um or vice versa he saw a poster of janet jackson and thought it was an alien but among us anyways i just like to picture the two of them hanging out now in iverson uh being like oh fuck that's biggie um Yeah, it's like, I can't say no to this blunt. You're like, yeah, I'm good, man.
Starting point is 00:06:28 There's so many times when a blunt was passed to me and I was already like, well, I'm entirely too high to even be holding this right now. You do that thing where you're holding it the whole time and suddenly you're like, hey, man, you want to give me that? You're like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, here.
Starting point is 00:06:55 Yeah, yep. Anyways, you're holding it the whole time and something like hey man you want to you want to give me that you're like oh yeah yeah yeah here yep anyways uh jerry west is mad so is kareem kareem you know very different takes jerry west basically said yeah i'm the fucking guy from winning time that's me in the flesh they pegged me they got it perfectly right it's exactly who i am the kareem take was more like it felt like i get it you're saying that because it's you know sensationalized like sort of uh dramatic dramatized you know non-fiction type of stuff that there's not the full depth of characters etc but i don But I don't know. I'm just, I just, I think the Jerry West thing really makes me laugh the hardest. Cause I'm like, it's the most Jerry West thing you could have done. Wait.
Starting point is 00:07:32 So he said it was inaccurate. Right. But then in his, I'm going to, and I'm going to sue you to have it taken down. You're saying he reveals himself to actually be the character from the show. I'm just saying like his energy like for him saying like it's a cruel portrayal of him as he says it's like it seems
Starting point is 00:07:51 accurate based on how you're even responding to someone being like i don't know this is what jerry rust is kind of like like i don't i'm not a bully and if you don't take that thing, calling me a bully down, I'm going to sue you in court. Like, Oh, okay. Look, this is dramatized. No one's watching this and saying,
Starting point is 00:08:12 Oh, that's not Jason Clark from zero dark 30. That's Jerry West. Look, I think it's one of those things too, where athletes are not used to being. Yeah. I think that's this kind of position where anything that has to do
Starting point is 00:08:27 with what they did on the field or the court of competition like having that discussed or dramatized is fucking like they'll they'll lose it because they're just they're used to being admired for just the very narrowly the things that they do on the court and yeah someone found this story interesting enough wrote about it and this is what we have i don't know i have a feeling that's a lot of what like a lot of the pushback is is that they're just fine like you know it's like ty cobb was around when cobb came out you know what i mean so yeah it's like it's that kind of thing where you know you're alive and i get it you're like this is this isn't who i. And I imagine this is kind of what comes with the territory when you're iconic to a sport. People write books and then other people take that intellectual property and say, we can make a profit by producing this.
Starting point is 00:09:15 And so it goes. ASAP Rocky has been arrested as a suspect in a 2021 uh los angeles shooting the lapd reported rocky was identified as a suspect who allegedly fired a handgun at a victim during previously unreported argument on november 6 2021 uh the victim sustained a minor injury yeah i don't know yeah hate to see it i really do i really like asap rocky uh yeah what is i had no idea about any of that when he got arrested i was like what happened from barbados i'm like was he just with the with rihanna there uh but i don't know why whenever i search it i'm just i'm continually just get more memes um on twitter about it right well you can't like pick a worse uh person to try and get accurate information about than the father of rihanna's
Starting point is 00:10:13 baby um that's people people people have a lot tied up in that but um yeah i don't know hopefully he's not out here still uh you know shooting guns at people uh seems like he should be is that what he's yeah i didn't think uh he always called himself the pretty motherfucker i didn't think you know i thought he was leaving the gunplay at home if that's even the case but yeah we'll see what happens again. Well, you'll always be honored for your contribution of okie dokie Donald Trump to get out of jail in Sweden. And he did beat the shit out of that person in that video in Sweden. Oh, yeah. He definitely put his hand on that person. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:56 The whole crew. The fucking hands. Yikes. Man, I really like like how do you feel about his music like some of his i'm not like a person who's like you know he's he has a classic album or anything but like when he's like some of his songs are really yeah i feel i i was i was much very much a fan of the early stuff the mixtape yeah yeah um long live asap you know like every album has its tracks i i was i just i remember when the whole asap like mob was coming up on like youtube and stuff like
Starting point is 00:11:32 that i was fucking i love that shit i was like oh this is fucking dope um and you know ferg is great too and there's a lot of good people like in that crew um but yeah i'm not like particularly i feel like the the concentration of asap rock like rocky tracks that like i could like spit off memory are from the very early days um all right let's take a quick break we'll come back we'll talk about why is this a particularly good movie season i actually don't know the answer to that but it just more of an observation it seems like there's more movies in theaters that I want to see than there has been for like five years. So join us every week as we break down episodes of the challenge 40 battle of the eras listen to mtv's official challenge podcast on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts and we're back um and that was the story you just heard before the break. That's basically it. I mean, the Northmen? Yeah. I mean, that looks dope.
Starting point is 00:16:30 I just saw Lighthouse about a few months back. That shit was just wild. That does not feel like it lends me to be like, and I want to see this person make a sprawling epic, uh, war movie, but like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:51 I'm definitely intrigued. Everything everywhere. All at once. I'm like the last person who hasn't seen it, but that shit looks really dope. Yeah. Uh, we're all going to the world's fair.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Yep. Um, that like what got a lot of attention at Cannes, I think, or maybe Sundance. And I just saw the trailer maybe a year and a half ago or whenever it came out. And I was like, that looks spooky and interesting. And then there's the Nicolas Cage movie,
Starting point is 00:17:22 probably the one out of those four that I want to see the least but it does yeah but it's fun it looks fucking i i just like self-aware shit you know um with something like this and just there's like a clip that's going viral right now where like him and pedro pascal are like arguing over paddington 2 being a great film oh really like from the movie, they're like, this movie's gonna be ridiculous. And Nicolas Cage is like, I gotta ask you, you've never answered what your second favorite film
Starting point is 00:17:54 of all time is. And Pedro Pascal's kind of like, Paddington 2. It's like, what? And they go off back and forth, but it just seems like a very aware film. it's just like a just such a stupid idea that like it's fun and even though it's very like self-referential to like other films this is a fun idea is that a thing that could like work if it was done more
Starting point is 00:18:21 like that so we've got being john malkovich, we've got this, um, we've got Neil Patrick Harris showing up in, uh, a movie as Neil Patrick Harris. Right. Um, that was Harold and Kumar. Was that the first Harold and Kumar?
Starting point is 00:18:38 And like, he's like the real Neil Patrick Harris is a real, uh, you know, misogynistic ladies, man's like uh-huh right um but i i feel like it's like fun as a stunt but i also feel like you could do more with that like you could there's yeah yeah like celebrity is such a weird thing it's such a weird like mind bending thing that like i don't
Starting point is 00:19:06 i don't know why you would like i think the danger is though like if this movie does well it's gonna kick off the trend of actors being themselves and isn't this weird right movies and then we're getting into like i feel like i'm just another subgenre of like rinse and repeat like ip where now it's like okay now the idea is that the plots of films we've done overdone now why don't we just be like and this is fucking Kevin Costner
Starting point is 00:19:33 as himself being an Uber driver and people are gonna be like oh okay this sounds like a YouTube series yeah but you know what that's and so did this film but it looks good but it looks good um piers morgan uh we always love it when piers is trending um what what's he got what's he got going on right now so piers morgan the absolute worst
Starting point is 00:20:02 representation of an arsenal supporter i just have to say that up top. He was sharing a clip of this interview that he has coming up with former President Donald Trump. But the clip he shows is like very tense and at that like to the point where Donald Trump storms out of the interview. So here's a, I guess, sneak peek of this thing that Piers Morgan posted. Okay, Piers, I'm ready. A former president in denial. I'll be completely straight with you. I think I'm a very honest man.
Starting point is 00:20:35 Much more honest than you, actually. Really? Yeah. It was a free and fair match. You lost. Only a fool would think that. You think I'm a fool? I do now, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:42 With respect. Excuse me. With respect. The legislature. Excuse me. The most explosive interview. The legislature. Excuse me. The most explosive interview of the year. Excuse me. I realize I'm not like.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Very dishonest. Let's finish up the interview. Morgan versus Trump. Turn the camera off. Very dishonest. Only on Talk TV. Okay. Oh, hell yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Finally. I've been waiting for Piers to just take this dude down with his. That's the one we needed. The hero we never fucking asked for. And it's so funny because this guy, I mean, Piers Morgan, he's always trying to get his, you know, be like, oh, I got him. Like, I'm going to fucking troll this guy. And that's going to help my credit. It's like, you don't give a fuck, bro.
Starting point is 00:21:21 You just wanted to have your moment where you're like, I got him to storm out. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. And finally, I think we're wanted to have your moment where you're like, I got in the storm out. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. And finally, I think we're going to start seeing Trump's popularity take a hit as this smarmy British dude takes him down a notch. Right. And also, I just, but here's the thing, right? Any other journalist you'd hope in the U.S. would actually, like, not allow him to lie constantly to their face. Right. would actually like not allow him to lie constantly to their face right you know like i think there's i guess they're maybe on the side of pierce morgan because he's not an american he's not necessarily
Starting point is 00:21:51 like uh deferential to the office of the president or the former president he's just like no fuck you the election was fair what are you gonna say about it like it's kind of the tone of this interview and he's like if you look at the evidence like okay show me right now right and trump is sweating in that clip too it's like all right peers let's do this let's do this meeting they knew what they were doing those close-ups man they're like make this guy look like he's doing his own makeup again and it looks like that does seem like he he does i mean i i would imagine donald trump is the type of person person who has come to the conclusion that only he can really do his hair and makeup and like he can't trust anybody else. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And that also he can only eat foods that are white without having to kill him.
Starting point is 00:22:40 That was a Mussolini thing. So I feel like we're headed that direction with trump well for him it just has to come from a mcdonald's right that's that is very similar he's like is it has to be from mcdonald's and i want to watch him make it um and finally uh snickers is trending uh they have announced you know people were pissed they're like what in the smooth hell is this picture of a smooth ass snickers yep this this uh twitter account at barefoot tasha underscore took a picture of an unwrapped snickers supposedly just smooth Like you thought like a common fucking smooth candy bar. And everyone was,
Starting point is 00:23:30 and the tweet was like, who took the dick vein? Who took the dick vein out of Snickers? And then like, yeah, Snickers came through with a tweet that says good news. Contrary to what's trending on Twitter, the veins remain.
Starting point is 00:23:44 The veins. This is a very odd conversation come on yeah the veins remain the veins remain i've never thought that that was a a veiny thing i always thought that was just a like a texture a texture of them like the melted chocolate just kind of being drizzled off yeah i guess now people are saying it's a dick vein and now that's all that what your dick veins look like man if that's what your dick veins look like please uh contact a urologist immediately yeah just have them check it out be like this good we we okay it's good oh my god it's smooth like a fucked up skit snickers oh my god let me get you to the or right now common smooth candy bar it's smooth um all right well i am glad how you know as gross as everyone's decision to uh or you use of descriptors here has been i'm glad they're keeping it that
Starting point is 00:24:47 way i don't i don't like a snickers with a smooth with a smooth lid um then it just looks it reminds me of those uh like chocolate covered granola bars that they used to have where yeah it's just it's not good or like one of those uh protein bars that's covered in chocolate and right just very nondescript yeah it tastes like shit yeah keep the keep the uh the whipped creamy drizzle at the top i okay i just want to let people in on a very personal moment that happened i'm talking to my mom because when i was a kid i took a picture with jonathan ki kwan who i was obsessed with as a kid because i was like look that's a young asian person i can look up to i just texted my mom and i said hey do you do you remember this picture and she's like oh yes he's in this new movie and again this speaks
Starting point is 00:25:39 exactly to some of the shit in the film where like asian moms and i think a lot of just parents misnamed shit she's like yes he's in oh everyone everywhere all at the same time yeah mom i love you and i love your confidence and just being like yes everyone everywhere all at the same time uh-huh i mean that this is a movie title that was designed to fuck up parents. Oh, yeah. I don't know how. I feel like, yeah, hit your parents up and ask them to name the film Challenge. Yeah. To see what they come back with. Everyone all the time simultaneously?
Starting point is 00:26:18 All right. Well, those are some of the things that are trending on this 420, man. I'm Jack. That's Miles. Do I even do this at the end of the show? I don't know this 420, man. I'm Jack. That's miles. Do I even do this at the end of the show? I don't know. My brain, man,
Starting point is 00:26:30 my brain with the form, man, it's coming out of my nose. Um, we are back tomorrow with the whole ass episode of the show until then be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves, get the vaccine.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to y'all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. Hey, I'm Gianna Pradenti. And I'm Jermaine Jackson-Gadson.
