I know it's from Spider-Man, but I know the version where Homer is singing Spider-Pig. Right. And I just know he's just doing whatever a spider pig does.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Ah. This seems to have ruined my brain. Shout out to the people in Portland who are like, I too, Simpsons is my love language. And I was like, yeah, that happened to a generation of people born in the 80s. All of us. All right, Miles miles what's trending let's tell the people let's bring it to uh rush limbaugh is trending because he has announced that he has advanced lung cancer yeah which uh that's never good uh yeah and that has been then
Starting point is 00:02:58 there's also apparently it's like a secondary search hit of like uh lung cancer treatments i saw like under real-time search search trends happening on Google I don't know if they're related but they're very very very similar yeah yeah I'm sure people are hoping you know he's got a lot of lifelong fans out there like go way back to the 80s with him so one of the first books i ever bought was al franken's rush limbaugh's big fat idiot yeah did not know how in over my head i was as a child because i only knew al franken from snl and i figured oh this has to be a joke book right and then i'm like i don't know any what's what's he's money it's hegemony oh I did
Starting point is 00:03:48 I remember getting one of his books for Christmas and reading the whole thing Rush Limbaugh's no
Starting point is 00:03:55 oh Al Franken's no one Al Franken's but I think it was Lying Liars and the Lying Lies
Starting point is 00:04:00 and the Liars you're telling yeah yeah anyways Madonna lawsuit also trending yeah she's being sued by a couple of fans because her concert started late and that caused all hell to break loose look this happens you go to a show it says you know doors at 7 30 show at 8 30 they get
Starting point is 00:04:22 there uh show starts at 11 30 damn Damn. Which is like some Wu Tang level shit. If you've ever seen Wu Tang live, add about 17 hours to whatever the stage time is. And that's when the show will begin. I mean, but these guys, these two fans are, they basically said the fact that the show ended so late and, and like they were out in the streets around 1 a.m completely up at like they had trains they were taking they had rides that were scheduled now i don't know how much this is just a finesse or just trying to get your your tickets refunded right um but they're saying like it basically upended things because they had work and school to go to the next day and but the kicker is, since they take your phones at the Madonna show,
Starting point is 00:05:05 they couldn't even try and sort something out during the show because they're like, you get your phone when you leave, is what they're saying. Right. So, you know. I mean, they could have left early, right? Is that the thing? I'm sure, probably.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Will that be the defense? They'll probably be like, yeah, there's, I mean, I can't imagine a Madonna show is like, you leave, and it's like, Madge has not gone on yet you will sit down yeah but i need to sit i just want to get home to my i need to study for my mcat i mean that but that's a real thing like in in new york if you have like a train out to Jersey or something, you can be stranded. I understand. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:48 When you actually take like mass transit, they're like, it's funny, like in Japan, there's like in the train scheduling app, there's like one you can just filter like last possible train home. Right. So you can immediately be like,
Starting point is 00:05:58 okay, where are we hanging out? Let me figure out what time I have to get the fuck out of here before I'm stranded. And I'm, you know, taking a nap on the street until like five, four, three. Right. So did, did, did the story continue to continue on to say like what their solution was or they were just like, I was all fucked up at work. Cause yeah, I got no sleep.
Starting point is 00:06:18 They, no, they're just like, all right, fine. We were probably have the, we know some people that will file a lawsuit on our behalf and we can have fun i because apparently like live nation told them even at the time they're like we're not going to issue refunds for that right but this also there's a similar class action lawsuit that madonna is facing i think in florida or or did face last year so look she's late you know yeah you know just got to know that you know go to wu-t show, it's going to happen nine hours later. Go to a Madonna show, it's going to happen three hours later. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:47 I mean, I once bought tickets that made it impossible to see the screen at the Jay-Z Beyonce show. Totally my fault, but I still felt similarly angry about the whole thing. Oh, the angle? Damn it! They shouldn't sell those seats!
Starting point is 00:07:03 Such an acute angle yeah wow yeah you couldn't like couldn't even remotely see the wait this last tour yeah the last tour wow wow wow really blew that oh we went on different nights though didn't we yeah we did you went to the second night uh nick lachey yeah on he was was on Today Show with his wife, Vanessa Manillo. Lachey. Okay. Gotta have a three-name name. If you're nasty.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Yeah. And Hoda brought up the new Jessica Simpson book where she says that John Mayer was mind-fucking her. That John Mayer anecdote was sort of like, she was like, he's so smart, and if I said anything wrong, he'd immediately challenge me. She's basically saying like the dynamic was such that she was petrified of making mistakes around him. And also when she would text him, have people like check for grammar and shit,
Starting point is 00:07:56 because she just didn't want that like John Mayer gaslight smoke something. There's all kinds of interesting stuff. There's another part where they talk but she talks about nicola shane it's very much like you know we met when we were young our our new marriage played out on tv and then at a certain point i realized like we just we weren't actually good when the cameras weren't on like we turned it on for the show and then we realized something was happening but she didn't really take shots at him or anything right she kept it very respectful.
Starting point is 00:08:25 She's like, you know, because I don't want to say anything bad because I obviously married him for a reason. And we stayed together for a reason. It just didn't end up working out. And then millions of married couples on Instagram soon learned what that was like. Yeah. So then like when Hoda asked him, this is what he said.
Starting point is 00:08:42 He goes, I'll be honest. I obviously haven't read the book. Okay. So I don't know what she said or what she revealed there, but I'm certainly happy for her and her life. I know she's happy for us. You know, there's definitely a mutual respect there. So that's, you know, obviously it was a long time ago. We've all moved on.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Classy answer. Classy. For a classy man. Classy man. Although like it was something like she says says there's a line in that book where she's like, I went straight from my father's arms into Nick's arms.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Because she was like, I think she was 18 or something at the time they met or got married. Was he older than her? Yeah. Okay. I don't know about how much though. Do they have kids together?
Starting point is 00:09:21 No, no, they don't have kids together. No, no, they do not have kids together. So they're able to keep not have kids together. Okay. So they're able to keep it pretty amicable. Right. Mm-hmm. I have Nick Lachey's lullaby album. Oh, you do?
Starting point is 00:09:33 That's on repeat at the house. Not on repeat, but my son likes some of the songs on there. Oh, wow. Is it just all lullabies? Yeah, it's all songs he's singing to a baby. Oh, my God. Wait, hold on. If she's 39 and he's 46, he was 25 when she was eight.
Starting point is 00:09:55 Anyway, shout out to anyone with that weird armband tattoo that 98 Degrees made. Oh, did he have that? Dude, I'm pretty sure everybody in 98 Degrees had that same tribal print, whatever, armband tattoo it was. Dope tattoo. Sick tats. I'm glad I got mine. I can say that for sure.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Yep. When they see in the gym, they're like, sick tats, sick lats. That's right. When he comes in. Dumbledore is also trending. Why is that? Because Jason Crowe, who is part of the House impeachment team, one of the managers, or Democrat impeachment team, part of his closing arguments, you know, everyone sort of had
Starting point is 00:10:39 a theme, like where some people were like, hey, the framers of the Constitution wrote it in this way so that you guys would have to do something down the road. Every person who takes the oath is entrusted with keeping it sacred and doing what they can to act impartially and to do what's for the best of the country. A lot of stuff like that. And then part of his comments are saying, you know, my wife and I, this is a direct quote, my wife and I have tried to teach our kids what we can always control, that we can always control, our choices. It's in that spirit that hanging in my son's room is a quote from Harry Potter, he added. The quote is from Professor Dumbledore, who said,
Starting point is 00:11:22 it's our choices that show who we truly are far more than our abilities immediately mitch mcconnell went to his knees asking for forgiveness uh rand paul i think just right van he turned to a poof a cloud if there's one thing that we know is meaningful to conservatives it is obviously harry potter and using who they think is doing the devil's work yeah um it's when you say they all had a theme like it sounds like it's like a child's birthday party where the other stick closing statements like spider-man based no they use like the pacing like where one person was first giving context about the constitution then another one's being like what you saw over these last two weeks
Starting point is 00:12:05 was that Donald Trump has done all these things, and they're bad, and none of them have been disputed. Then moving on, each speaker had a piece that fit together. But hey, he shifted and got up there and he was like, and this will be cowboy-themed, partner.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Justice in the Old West was... Run this buckaroo bandit out of town what do you say fellers um shit well that is those are four things that are trending this afternoon we will be back tomorrow with another podcast in the morning and we will talk to you guys then.
