Starting point is 00:02:10 world hello the internet and welcome to this episode of zeit and you will trend sieve um perfect perfect uh thank you to the discord for that brilliantly thought out short show title we appreciate y'all let's tell the people what's trending i'm jack by the way uh you are i'm uh i'm i'm just i'm just gonna go by miles okay okay the mystery man mystery man himself yeah you know now that we're you know just watching just with bated breath what uh how this country is going to what they will do at this fork in the road oh my oh my it's almost like is there vegas action like i'll take vegas action to fund my escape yes that would be if we could only gamble on like how little of the shit that's being threatened is actually going to happen to trump and his supporters what's the
Starting point is 00:03:11 over under on uh just giving fascism a pass to the Vegas let us know well uh we're gonna talk about some some things that are being done here up top. Uh, Hallmark is trending because, uh, they had donated $3,000 to Holly, uh, and 5,000 to Roger Marshall.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Uh, and those are two of the people who encouraged, uh, rooted on the insurrection. Uh, and Hallmark is asking for their money back boom so you said you're gonna overthrow the government what the fuck was that we want our money back i mean i mean free market capitalism doesn't work we're outraged give us our money
Starting point is 00:03:58 back uh yeah sure i mean it's just so funny how every company now is like oh we're gonna pause our donations for a minute now we didn't realize we didn't realize that's what they were there for it's like so stupid it's like yeah you fund these people because they're gonna be votes
Starting point is 00:04:19 that you need to protect your business interests and now you're like well they did it in a way that was too underhanded but you didn't care when they were like sort of you know to protect your business interests. And now you're like, well, they did it in a way that was too underhanded. It's like, but you didn't care when they were like sort of, you know, solidifying your stranglehold on a given industry. Ah, whatever. Right. Do what you got to do.
Starting point is 00:04:33 And when they were openly advocating for those ideas and for fascism in the country, didn't have a problem with that until it became unpopular. have a problem with that until uh it became unpopular one kind of pushback against fascism that seems to have some teeth is twitter banning donald trump uh at the end of last week he yeah it really seems like i don't know there there was a change to the overall tenor of i don't know people seemed less on edge it just seemed like there's a change to how people felt like they were less just on edge waiting for him to tweet some wild shit at least on twitter which is where i live now uh by the way i didn't know if i told you i moved to twitter to yeah i know when i was doing scroll i was like hey i wanted to send some stuff for the family and you're like oh yeah mail it to at jack underscore o'brien and i'm like what
Starting point is 00:05:30 um huh but so the trump supporters wanted to you know make it real for twitter in real meat space by going to the twitter hq twitter hq was trending all morning uh and they were gonna go and show their displeasure with twitter for banning uh their god leader man uh and nobody showed up the the plan one person showed up one person showed up with an anti-trump mat uh yeah sign yeah they said impeach now and a trump's lies matter uh like emblazoned hoodie or something nice it's just uh i mean as much as maybe nobody showed up today i don't know what that means for the future i don't know it means for a lot of people are talking about, you know, going after Amazon server facilities and things like that. It's a lot of anger right now.
Starting point is 00:06:29 So it's just like whether or not people show up now, it's just so much is happening in real time that it's hard to be able to predict anything at the moment. Because we're still very much in like we're just looking into this gaping wound. We're like, oh, boy. I don't have a diagnosis yet. I'm just more like, oh. still very much in like like the we're just looking into this gaping wound or like oh boy i don't have a diagnosis yet i'm just more like oh you don't want to hear that from any doctor oh god what's the diagnosis i don't know i need a second man what the fuck i'm looking at oh god okay just give me one what the fuck is this what is this i mean it looks clear but calling all the other doctors over yeah exactly they're like oh fuck what uh so we'll see but yeah and then another uh form of pushing back against fascism uh that is trending right now
Starting point is 00:07:20 is the no fly list um and there's just some very funny videos of uh you know people who are at the white supremacist insurrection who are finding out that that they're on the no-fly list they have been marked as at least temporarily somebody who is of interest and a risk to the security of the country and they're not happy. Yeah. That dude was crying. Yeah, he was crying loudly. You're trying to ruin my life! Ruin my life!
Starting point is 00:07:56 And you know what? Damn, that sucks that you got, you were flying high on that bullshit and then like, you know, there's consequences now and you're truly like on some like it's i'm not race what did i do i just participated in an insurrection you're like it's a big deal i didn't i honestly thought that black kid had my cell phone there's no defense against this shit no matter how much you cry
Starting point is 00:08:26 about it it's up you fuck this is just fucked like this is you know a lot of people find themselves on that fly list or there are a couple um uh clips i saw of people being like greeted by law enforcement when they landed um and just like the outrage but yeah again shows purely this was these people felt that like this they were entitled to act the way they did yeah i do i do wonder if uh waiting till they got to their destination to arrest them would have been you know just for the sake of the people uh who live in washington dc like let get these people out of there before uh they're dealt with but i i also like to drink their uh privileged tears andrew yang is trending uh he is he running for mayor is that what his latest deal is mayor of new York city. Um, whatever. Is he?
Starting point is 00:09:25 Yeah, I think he is. And he faced some, uh, questions because he doesn't live in Manhattan. Um, and you know, he was just trying to explain, like,
Starting point is 00:09:36 obviously I don't live in Manhattan. We live in a two bedroom apartment in Manhattan. This is a quote. Can you imagine trying to have two kids on virtual school in a two-bedroom apartment and then trying to do work yourself and people who live in new york are like a two-bedroom is fucking spacious in new york wait you got another room wait you got two other rooms aside from the main room and kitchen huh i mean that's why new york is like as much as i like that place i'm i'm such an angeleno with the space i'm like what the fuck i'm like to have the kind of space
Starting point is 00:10:12 i would like need in new york i'm like i don't have that kind of money i live in new jersey yeah yeah hey what's up jersey um and finally kim cattrall is trending uh one of our favorite uh jazz vocalists uh talk to he dogs and anchor dogs she dogs by the doobie oh what's going on kim if people don't know what we're talking about please google kim cattrall scatting yeah uh and on youtube don't do it on some other weird website. Yeah. So she's not going to be in the reboot? Yeah, she's decided. So they're rebooting Sex and the City with the original cast, except Kim Cattrall is not going to be back. I think, you know, there was always the idea that she was not like super fond of the show and that she didn't get along with the rest of the cast out there,
Starting point is 00:11:08 uh, in the Kim Cattrall, uh, forums that I troll, uh, that I like to hang out in. Um, there's just always that sense.
Starting point is 00:11:17 And I don't know, uh, people, somebody was pointing out that Jane Krakowski, uh, from 30 rock, you could just like put her krakowski uh from 30 rock you could just like put her in as her character from 30 rock and nobody would really know the difference oh okay i mean it'd be interesting what do the writers do are they gonna be like shade her and be like
Starting point is 00:11:37 oh you know she went to prison because she was doing insider trading like you know right they just slam her or what but uh sure i don't know what's i like i i it'll be i it'll be interesting i'll definitely have to see it because i we were around man sex in the city mania oh yeah like my mom's favorite show i remember i used to watch that show with my mom like when it first came out like there were like screeners she got and very clear i was like this is a show i should not watch with my mom ever at all not now no yeah i mean i i'd sympathize with you but it has the word sex right there in the uh in the title yeah i don't know what we were thinking maybe it would be more family friendly but you know i think just more because like we're just not as uh like i've watched any kind of movie around my mom like it's not anything that gets awkward but like yeah when
Starting point is 00:12:29 you're like because i remember when it come out like 97 98 or something i think that's when it started yeah yeah like i was like 13 so that's a weird vibe to be with like a teenage boy and you're watching like like people fucking and like talking real crass about it with like, and then I was like, okay, mom, like, you know, I know what they're talking about, mom. One of my first jobs out of school at ABC News, Diane Swearer was preparing for an interview with every episode of sex in the city and uh and like write coverage of it essentially um that must have been it do you have a lot of no i don't i'm sure she's holding on to them yeah yeah i had a bunch of run-ins with sex in the city because my first first job uh out of college was to be a pool boy at the Soho House in New York City. And they did like a scene there where all the cast was there.
Starting point is 00:13:32 And then like there was a scene where a pool boy from the Soho House like did something in like one of the last episodes. And I always. Could have been me. Could have been me, man. Could have been me. Damn damn imagine if that's where you got your shot man you know things would be a lot different things would be a lot different man yeah you'd have a show on quibby exactly the pool boy from that one episode on quibby the pool boy that was just my entire pool man i'll have you know the pool man that sounds like an actual uh pool man i only know that song from dough boys it's mike mitchell goes by spoon man
Starting point is 00:14:22 oh okay there you go. All right, guys. That is what's trending on this Monday afternoon. We hope you guys are staying safe out there. We're back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Wear a mask. Wash your hands.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Don't do nothing about white supremacy, and we'll talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. Bye.
