Starting point is 00:01:32 And this is season four of naked sports. Up first. I explore the making of a rivalry, Caitlin Clark versus angel Reese. People are talking about women's basketball. It's just because of one single game. Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's basketball. And on this new season, we'll cover all things sports and culture.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio apps, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. Hello, the Internet, and welcome to this episode of zeit inch nails by trend resner that's a short show title courtesy of at vast underscore stampede uh anyways i am jack and i'm thrilled to be joined today by a very special guest co-host the brilliant and talented super producer becca ramos hello thank you hey hey jack how are you i'm good i'm good excited to get into these trends a lot of pop culture stuff my favorite today that's that's some professional podcast hosting right there just right to it all business well yeah you were saying you were excited to talk
Starting point is 00:02:45 about uh the supreme court because you are anti-vax and you were psyched to see that they uh shot down the vax mandate uh that's the the first trend we got to talk about yeah on thursday uh which is today blocked the uh biden administration's's vaccine or test requirements for large private companies. And, you know, it broke along party lines. But it's basically, you know, the conservatives just showing a staggering commitment to being wrong about everything. Yeah. So what does this mean, you know, for the rest of the year? Like, does this mean that, like, we're just never going to leave our house again? That, like, there are no rules?
Starting point is 00:03:29 Or are they breaking it down to, like, the state and local level? Because I know personally, in New York, there's still a lot of vaccine mandates. And, like, planes have vaccine mandates. So is this just, like, federally they can't make rules? Sam and Holly weird. I'll tell you what. I think it's federally they can't tell companies what to do so big companies that don't want to enforce the vaccine mandate will no longer be
Starting point is 00:03:52 doing it we just read a headline from i think it was the united ceo uh one of the airline ceos being like hey you know what's crazy like so uh ever since the vaccine mandate like we used to be having multiple employees die a week and now we don't have any for the past few weeks we don't you know it's like huh uh so we just had that quote but the the supreme court just had to step in and you know i i do wonder like are these highest of high court you know the philosopher kings as they like to view themselves like they they all watch fox news right like those like the people who are all voting on this the the the conservatives they all watch fox news for sure these dipshits yeah um yeah yeah yeah so we live in a nightmare uh this will continue uh this uh hurts our ability to
Starting point is 00:04:50 stop the coronavirus well and it's really scary i think from a public health standpoint in general that like our government is in taking care of us but also i think this scary narrative that's been going on that's like well omicron it is more widespread which means it's not as deadly and therefore everyone's gonna get it just accept it and move on but in reality i think we're not talking about the health implications for those of us who are immunocompromised or you know are disabled and things like that like that narrative is not true you know it's it's it like that, like that narrative is not true. You know, it's it's it's like gaslighting from the government. And this is like adding to that, that, oh, like, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:05:32 We're fine. This is the flu. We're just going to have to live and suffer through and we will all live. But in reality, this has way bigger implications for those who are immunocompromised and disabled and elderly that, you you know is really putting their health at risk and there's nothing they can do about it they won't just get it and get over it and be fine they will have serious health and potentially long covid uh side effects for the rest of their lives yeah it's almost like the country that lives on the rubric of you can only have healthcare.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Uh, if you have a full-time job, uh, it's almost as if that logic has completely, uh, fucked us. Or maybe that logic is just a symptom of a, uh,
Starting point is 00:06:17 deep core rottenness of, of the American ideal. Uh, we'll see. Not a great, not a great, uh, start here to 2022 uh viagra is trending did we we talked on the uh regular episode about how the right is like this is their new covid off-brand cure right yep yeah the tucker carlson thought it was funny and cute and he was
Starting point is 00:06:44 doing his like am i doing satire i like to tell myself I am because it helps me sleep at night. a NFL quarterback who has the twin designation of being the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills and not playing well in the cold, which is not a great fit. But anyway, somebody, a former NFL player on a podcast
Starting point is 00:07:20 was like, oh, he just needs to take Viagra. Like, that's what everybody in the NFL knows, that before a game in the cold, needs to take viagra like that's what everybody in the nfl knows that before a game in the cold you just take viagra and it like gets the blood pumping to the surface of your skin and you don't feel cold um and you know the part of me is like okay i saw this news story uh pop up so to speak on uh the drudge report like it does seem like you know that somebody else was pointing out the viagra story happening on fox news makes sense because uh the what's the company that makes viagra it's not purdue it's uh one of the other evil bastards um i have no idea i
Starting point is 00:08:00 honestly i thought viagra was pfizer it's pfizer of course uh anyways they they were pointing out that pfizer is a big advertiser on fox news so uh conspiratorially thinking uh they probably aren't too psyched with all the anti-vax bullshit that they put put on fox news but if fox were to i don't know glom on to a wild conspiracy theory that like one of their other medications cures by cures COVID, then maybe they'd be happy. Maybe that's a little. Hey, the real question is, does this work? Yeah, I don't know. The story you always hear about Viagra is that it was like the popular usage of it to treat erectile dysfunction was discovered
Starting point is 00:08:47 like as a side effect it was like a side effect of the drug that was i think treating like people with hypertension or some other um like heart related illness and they were just like uh uh so one quick note on uh on this medication you just gave me um so i could see it i don't know it seems like this thing has all sorts of uh unintended side effects that are useful so maybe who knows i wouldn't be surprised to learn that something that affects your blood pumping also affects your ability to get blood near the surface of your skin. But who knows? Who knows? Well, good luck to the football players.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Good luck to the football players. Said like a true sports nut. You know me. You did grow up in Texas, right? I did, and I saw on Trend trending as well was the um texans head coach is fired that's as much as i know about the story i don't have very many details after that it it from what i read it seems people feel like he was set up for failure that he was sabotaged i don't keep up with the texans too much besides my dad being a big old Texans fan,
Starting point is 00:10:07 but it seems like big buzzing news in the NFL, outside of Viagra, of course. Yeah, yeah. Jason Momoa, Lisa Bonet are getting a divorce. I'll just read from their statement. We have all felt the squeeze and change of these transformational times a revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception feeling and growing from the seismic shifts
Starting point is 00:10:33 occurring that sounds like you're about to tell me that you're pregnant that you're expecting a baby and so we share our family news that we are parting ways in marriage so i don't know like that's that's a that's very nice i don't know that's just how people in hollywood uh announced that they're getting a beautiful written from their publicist uh it's like if conscious uncoupling if gwyneth paltrow had a soul but this does make me ask the question is jason momoa the most desirable bachelor in american history now you know i feel like absolutely i think people are devastated because they were such a beautiful couple they represented such power like lisa bonet she is such a powerhouse of an actress of everything she's ever done she's created one of the most amazing nepotism children of all time you know
Starting point is 00:11:32 i would put them like uh with jada and willow with um i'm like who are there's so many nepotism kids but i feel like we need to make that we need to do a segment on on just a whole episode of daily zeitgeist of like top creations of nepotism uh because yeah like the the smiths uh are like beautiful aliens who could not have been invented without uh the growing up in that environment um and yeah so i think it makes him one of the hottest bachelors in in history um like there's the there's the thing of like dating up where like you they talk about in succession where uh greg like dates someone who's out of his league and then uh other women assume that that must mean that there's something about him that is like attractive like
Starting point is 00:12:24 like p davidson and every other woman he's ever yeah yeah exactly p davidson's story but like lisa bonet is like i feel like the coolest person like we've had in america and so like so like the fact that he was married to her and they like parted ways. Sorry, they grew apart in marriage is makes it seem like this could be a new high point in hotness for a single man. Himbos are really in right now. Right. Just so you know, like himbo culture.
Starting point is 00:13:03 You don't think I'm feeling that? Come on. Women want beautiful, dumb men that don't think I'm feeling that? Come on. Women want beautiful, dumb men that are just going to worship the ground they walk on. Not that that isn't what they've always wanted, but I feel like it's, like, made an arc. Like, they're like, where are the himbos on television? Where is, like, the himbo to bisexual woman pipeline of, like, dating? It's very out there in the TikTok sphere right now. So I feel like he is definitely like gonna be top tier material as we see the the press rolls out um i'm excited to to see who he dates next yeah
Starting point is 00:13:32 it's whoever it is it will be a disappointment but it will be a step down but the like this moment a kardashian no please producer brian says a kardashian he's too good for that fuck out of here with that don't too good for that you throw salt over your shoulder knock on wood and throw your computer into the ocean after that uh he said i'll show myself out uh yeah i this is the peak like from here you can only go down um but if like at this moment when it's like coming off of like i feel like lisa bonet also like that's why lenny kravitz was so hot for so long was like oh you're kidding well and also famously his big dick so right you know right but famously yeah famously uh all right let's take a quick break we'll be right back
Starting point is 00:14:31 i'm jess casaveto executive producer of the hit netflix documentary series dancing for the devil the 7m tiktok cult and i'm cleo gray former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Starting point is 00:16:02 Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in experts who do, like resume specialist Morgan Sanner. The only difference between the person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets the job is usually who applies. Yeah, I think a lot about that quote. Starting point is 00:16:35 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session.
Starting point is 00:16:54 24 hours. BPM 110. 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out?
Starting point is 00:17:07 I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams
Starting point is 00:17:26 Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts in a galaxy far far away no babe, that's taken we're in our own far, far away. No, babe, that's taken.
Starting point is 00:17:46 We're in our own world, remember? Right, in our own world. We're two space cadets. And totally normal humans. Sure, totally normal humans. Embark on a journey across the stars, discovering the wonders of the universe one episode at a time.
Starting point is 00:18:01 We'll talk about life, love, laughter, and why you should never argue with your co-pilot. Especially when she's always right. Right. And if we hit turbulence, just blame it on Mercury retrograde. Or Emily's questionable space piloting skills. Hey! Join us on In Our Own World
Starting point is 00:18:17 for cosmic conversations, stellar laughs, and super corny dad jokes. Listen to In Our Own World as a part of the My Cultura podcast network available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or And we're back. And Kanye is popping onto people's trending radar because uh he's being investigated for punching a fan it's very early stages the details are unclear but it was basically there was a listening party with kanye madonna julie fox uh from uncut gems who is his girlfriend now uh and you wrote fun yeah that's fun madonna and julie fox and kanye like that's a fun group uh also antonio
Starting point is 00:19:16 brown and floyd mayweather yee not using yeah but anyways they're having a listening party there's some video from that and then apparently apparently there's video of him maybe punching a fan outside of that listening party. But then some people are saying he was set up. We don't know. But that is, there's news of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson because they just went on a date that involved going to John and Vinny's. Shout out to John and Vinny's. Just a local. It's like very well done Olive Garden. Just like good. Probably my speed of home. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:04 It's good. It's like a great restaurant in in la but then they went to rite aid for ice cream which is a thing that do you guys have that in new york like do you have ice cream you have duane reed you have they're all owned by the same i think people and they have like an ice cream like scooper person like you can get an ice cream cone yeah you can like go get ice cream scoops at the right age like you're going to ben and jerry's or like uh oh no we don't have that yeah it's very uh i don't i'm sure it exists other places i i think it's like a holdover from the days of like where there was one store in the town center where you could get a sarsaparilla uh you could go get your pharmaceuticals and you could also get an ice cream but anyways it's uh that's that's what they're hitting up is right aid for ice cream
Starting point is 00:20:58 which interesting i'd kind of love it for them i think it's cute yeah i mean kim is so curated right like that's her whole thing have you watched press interviews of hers like not even just like ellen performances but i think david letterman's uh my next guest things like that i've never seen someone so press trained when they do interviews yeah she will not let a thing slip she has such a curated like perception and like what she puts out there is so purposeful so it's kind of cute that she's dating someone so whimsical and obviously and just like messy and but yeah like the antithesis like kanye was like uh you are my muse and i'm gonna project everything artistically onto. I'm going to make you into a princess. I'm going to decorate you like a statue and I'm not going to love you,
Starting point is 00:21:51 but I'm just going to look at you like art. And now instead she is the art that through her own lens and not that I, all I say, I do not worship the Kardashians, but it is kind of interesting to see her, you know, maybe actually like let loose a little, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:07 she's worked so hard to create this such curated image. And now she's like, you know what? I'm in my forties. I got my kids. I got my little law career. I'm like a top tier influencer. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:18 I'm gonna go get ice cream with my boyfriend at. At Rite Aid. It's not the top. Yeah. At Rite Aid. boyfriend at right it does feel like a scene from a romantic comedy where pete davidson dates like a disney princess who has just come to life out of a disney movie i mean it's aladdin you know right a little bit like ice cream at a right oh yeah dude it's like totally good you should i don't know why
Starting point is 00:22:46 bob cagglethwaite for some reason in my mind but uh all right but the big story uh we we had to hold it for last we're gonna skip over the fact that glenn beck has covet and says it's spread to his lungs because i don't want to like wish harm on anyone uh he's anti-vax and claims to be unvaccinated i feel like he's the type of person who is probably lying about his vaccination status, but, um, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:10 would be the highest profile conservative bullshit artist to, uh, die from ingesting their own bullshit. But I'm not saying I want that. I'm just stating a fact. Uh, anyways, the big story,
Starting point is 00:23:21 the big news, MGK, Megan Fox got engaged to love amazing still exists crazy love the ending of the iconic instagram post from megan fox and we drank each other's blood um the ring was gorgeous it's huge uh it's that i don't remember how it's pronounced i'm not gonna say it but it's like basically um two different stones particularly usually like an emerald and a diamond um together to kind of symbolize like two individuals joining in one um it's very popular cut right now it's a
Starting point is 00:23:59 very expensive cut because it's an emerald and a diamond um but you know it's nice for the diamond industry oh like okay so we've got this new trend it's you're gonna love it it's uh two giant diamonds instead of one symbolizes stuff or whatever emeralds emeralds are so expensive too so it's like the the jeweling industry is gonna go hey heywire over it, but the caption's crazy. Go read it. The whole thing is insane. It's very emulating MGK's best friend, Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian's engagement.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Clearly, there's a lot of strife. It reminds me of my college boyfriend. I'm trying to prove to everybody that everything's fine type of caption. And we go through trials and tribulations and ups and downs but i love this person with all my heart but like clearly there's like toxicity there that's the vibe it's giving but you know we'll see how long they last i'm excited it's fun it's a roller coaster we'll see yeah i just i don't know i need maybe i need to like take another look at the article but it just feels like she's very interesting and like singularly uh i don't know uh pretty
Starting point is 00:25:15 and talented and he's just kind of like okay all right neat well they're very intense that's like been the whole thing with their relationship from like start to finish is that they're very intense that's like been the whole thing with their relationship from like start to finish is that they're like you know you guys did this story about it a while ago where he like blew like what weed into her mouth the first time they like did this hovered over each other she was like you smell like weed and he said i am weed and then yeah i think laid later that night he like blew weed into her mouth yes absolutely super producer brian says angelina and billy bob vibes and that is correct it is very much that it's very gross to look at but like an entertaining roller coaster all the way through but they are both so talented like that's
Starting point is 00:25:59 the thing and like yeah but i guess that whatever and i think a lot of people think MGK is talented. I guess he was good in one movie I saw him in, that Jamie Foxx movie where people had superpowers. I don't think he's untalented. Is he super talented? I don't know, but he's not untalented. He definitely has a star power, or he wouldn't be, I think, still around.
Starting point is 00:26:22 He did the SNL performance of Travis Barker, I think, um, recently, like in October or whatever. And it was good. I mean, I don't, he's not,
Starting point is 00:26:31 his music's not my cup of tea, but I think the things he's acted in has been pretty good, like not bad. So, and Megan Fox, obviously we've agreed is very talented. So, yes.
Starting point is 00:26:40 And then we drank each other's blood. That's how, that's how we will end all episodes from now on. Thank you so much, Becca, for joining. Such a pleasure having you as always. Where can people find you,
Starting point is 00:26:53 follow you, all that good stuff. You can find me, follow me on all platforms at Bex Ramos, B-E-C-C-S-R-A-M-O-S. But I am not very active on anything but Instagram. So just know that. All right. Well, that is going to do it for us this Thursday afternoon. We are back tomorrow
Starting point is 00:27:11 with a whole ass episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccine. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to y'all tomorrow. Bye. supremacy and we will talk to y'all tomorrow bye i'm carrie champion and this is season four of naked sports up first i explore the making of a rivalry caitlin clark versus angel reese every great player needs a foil i know i'll go down in history people are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game.
