Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Don't You Know That Zayt Men Can't Jump. That is courtesy of hoss bossman uh i'm jack o'brien that's dj daniel goodman what's going on man hello hello hello not a
Starting point is 00:02:35 mucho man happy to be back yeah have we done zeitman can't jump probably but you know what always bring it back shout out hoss bossman for uh for the many names yeah yeah um all right let's tell the people what is trending uh pokemon unite is trending and that is something i will need you to explain to me i will happily do that for you jack so uh pokemon is in the process of announcing a slate of different games they also recently uh announced a update for pokemon snap which was a very popular n64 pokemon game where you just basically rode around on a truck and took pictures of pokemon it was very popular and then they announced pokemon unite which is kind of like a league of legends pokemon game
Starting point is 00:03:22 and i think it falls into the category of like things people weren't exactly looking for. And it's a cool idea. It's a cool concept. But a lot of people are kind of scratching their heads at what this is going to mean for Pokemon multiplayer in the future and like maybe what kind of direction the company is going.
Starting point is 00:03:39 But for the time being, it appears that you play as a Pokemon against other people as Pokemon in kind of League of Legends style combat, kind of outside of the usual realm of Pokemon. So I don't know, there might be some gameplay that is very similar to the OG Pokemon, but right now it looks a little bit different than what people were looking for from another Pokemon game. So we'll see. than what people were looking for from another Pokemon game. So we'll see.
Starting point is 00:04:04 So League of Legends, does that mean it's like a massive multiplayer online thing? Yeah, kind of. It's the other M one, but yes, we'll see how it goes. I'm interested. I knew that. I was obviously playing dumb. All right. Noose was trending all morning because the picture uh so so the bubba watson
Starting point is 00:04:30 story has been a real roller coaster over the past couple days uh bubba watson is the only black driver in nascar he painted his car changed the sponsorship to Black Lives Matter, and was pretty outspoken. They got rid of the Confederate flag and NASCAR. And then when he went to his garage recently, there was a noose there. So there was an FBI investigation. They found pictures that showed that that noose had been there for like a year. So it seemed like, okay. So the thing that came out today was the picture of that noose had been there for like a year. So it seemed like, okay.
Starting point is 00:05:09 So the thing that came out today was the picture of the noose. And it's so clearly a noose. Like I've never seen something more of. Yeah, it's straight up a noose. Like it's what you would put next to noose in the dictionary it's that specific uh not that you you only see really i've never seen it in any other context uh the other thing that came out today is that they searched all the other nascar garages and that noose wasn't found in any of the like the other garages didn't have that so it's very confusing yeah everybody uh immediately after there was that announcement they're like oh it's a garage door pull it's actually a pretty common use thing and i think a lot of people and i will
Starting point is 00:05:57 even say including myself at first foolishly we're saying oh well thank god but then right you just do the very easy task of okay so let's look in every other garage and they aren't there yeah that's a noose man so it's it's very strange because then the question is like why was it there before and it's um i'm very confused uh hey speaking of racism uh splash mountain is going to be redesigned to remove the song of the south connotations i didn't realize smash mountain splash mountain was a had a connection to song of the south i've never been on it so yeah oh well uh give i mean you know give it a whirl to see what it was representing in the past um but uh yeah also shout out to
Starting point is 00:06:46 night call pod for incepting this idea into existence they talked about this ride needing this kind of redesign months ago so shout out right shout out to the iheart sister pod night call yeah great show great show that's one of like the ones that i don't feel like I can start my week without listening to Night Call because they're just so smart and they always have the most interesting takes on what is happening. So that is Splash Mountain. Great pod. And then the Dixie Chicks are trending because they changed their name to the Chicks. And yeah, good for them.
Starting point is 00:07:24 It's not a good name maybe they should have come up with a different alt uh because the chicks is weird but they felt like they needed to do that and that's probably due to feedback from people who were like yeah dixie not not so cool. Not the best connotation in the world. So yeah, shout out to the Dixie Chicks because they were one of the few people who were willing to openly say that George Bush could go to hell and come out against the Iraq War
Starting point is 00:08:05 in the early days when the New York Times was still ready to send everybody to war and get things going. Talking that WMD. There was young people and the Dixie Chicks who were like, no this is this is a lot they're lying they're clearly lying anyways uh that is what's trending this afternoon
Starting point is 00:08:33 we hope you guys are uh doing well out there staying safe wash your hands wear a fucking mask you guys please wear a mask please it's so easy to do and stay inside uh don't do nothing and be kind to each other be kind to yourselves we'll be back amen tomorrow with a whole ass podcast and we will talk to you then bye bye hi i am lacy lamar and i'm also lacy lamar just kidding i'm amber reffin Bye. into my steamy DMs, answer your listener questions, and more.
