Starting point is 00:01:26 Presented by Elf Beauty, founding partner of iHeart Women's Sports. I'm Keri Champion, and this is Season 4 of Naked Sports. Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry, Caitlin Clark versus Angel Reese. People are talking about women's basketball just because
Starting point is 00:01:42 of one single game. Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's basketball. And on this new season, we'll cover all things sports and culture. Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio apps, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this edition of Zite of the Concords. Don't know if that was done, but I just wanted to say that because I was just thinking of the name, your name's Brett and Jermaine.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Shout out to just what I thought of right now. Not the most original idea, but I'm Miles. I'm joined by super producer anna hosnier that's right miles and i am so happy to be here on the daily zeitgeist trending episode of march 29 2022 oh i've never been happier to exist in time and space are you and i know you're excited because you say you want to talk nothing but mad boosties the new podcast that jack and i are doing uh you had some you had some really great words to share with everybody yes you guys this is a huge time for us normal human beings who don't understand any of
Starting point is 00:03:00 the basketball talk on this show now guys daily guys, Daily Psych Guys, a known sports show, is finally, finally no longer allowed to legally, legally talk about basketball on Daily Psych Guys. So they are officially moving all basketball thought to Mad Boosties.
Starting point is 00:03:20 I know. This is huge. Look. Oh, my God. Look out the window. There are people celebrating. Incredible. The numbers are going down. Oh, my God. Look out the window. There are people celebrating. Incredible. The numbers are going down. Oh, my God. They're going up. So, yeah, we are legally barred because, yeah, that's that's just how it is when you get in when you're doing these things. So we won't talk basketball right now. We're going to talk about what is trending.
Starting point is 00:03:42 First up, what's trending? White House gap. Not because it's the newest collaboration between Gap and the White House. No, there is a gap in the records. Okay, so the January 6th committee is saying, hey, former Trump administration, we need all of the records from the call logs from January 6th so we can understand who the president was speaking to then they said oh yeah yeah bet okay uh here's uh here are all the documents that way that we have well for those that have been able to look at those records it shows that there is a seven hour and 37 minute gap in the president then president donald trump's fucking phone logs on january 6th
Starting point is 00:04:28 so like yeah yeah we got that here's just here's just a huge black hole from the actual part that is relevant to what you're investigating so reeks of a burner phone i don't know oh i sorry i thought you're about to play a clip uh I don't know why I thought that. No, there's probably nothing suspicious about that. Based on what we're seeing. What could possibly be hidden in those seven hours? Could you imagine being like, hey, we need this evidence. You're like, oh, I got an alibi.
Starting point is 00:05:00 You're like, oh, really? You're like, yeah, let me just show you all my proof. They're like, this shows that you basically almost didn't even exist during the time of the crime right so weird right well we have testimony from people that you spoke to on a phone that day what phone were you using doesn't say there's a phone here so whatever they're saying must be why i'm quite impressed by um just how white people will just be doing that yeah there's like no real like i in my right mind would like never be like i'll get away with this well we've been conditioned to respond differently to things like that that's just incredible work by the the you know rich white man who somehow became
Starting point is 00:05:46 president is all of a sudden like huh do you remember all the paperwork you were getting ready when we were going to canada you're like just in case i'm getting i'm covering my back i'm doing everything on the up and up and they're like yeah you're good and you're like yeah i knew but the thing is like i wasn't going in like, I can talk my way into the country. Right, right, right. With nothing. They're like, Anna, what if they ask you anything? You're like, pfft. I'm getting fingerprinted. I literally was working overtime to make sure I can get into a country.
Starting point is 00:06:15 But yes, I didn't just, in the end, just casually walk through the gates and they didn't care at all. But still, it was like, I prepped like no other because i understand my position in the world and i just you're like seven hours right that's how wasn't that how long the whole thing lasted they're like basically from like 10 to 6 they're like oh yeah here's this one tweet when he said i love you all my beautiful protesters go home they're like there's that if you want that so i don't know what the fuck is going on if they're willfully just being like we don't have that shit or this guy was really on his like you know small time drug dealer shit and just had a burner phone and he's like well they can't they can't figure
Starting point is 00:06:55 this part i mean that must be what it was right like yeah i mean i'm sure we'll know or we won't know because you know on one hand you have people being like no the doj they're they're rubbing their mitts and you have other people like i'm not seeing any mitts being rubbed i don't know what's happening so whatever uh just just put that on the board and say we'll put a pin in that and just see how bad uh you know how bad the fascism gets over time uh the next thing that's trending is hunter biden because many people are pointing out the hypocrisy of the republicans as they defend jenny thomas uh supreme court justice clarence thomas's wife who had her texts uh published to
Starting point is 00:07:37 the white house chief of staff or then white house chief of staff mark meadows whispering all this q anon nonsense in his ear and then being all you know all up in the january 6th stuff they're like clarence thomas should recuse himself at a minimum based on his wife's involvement or it's intersecting with that meanwhile the gop is like no no it's all good we trust him but hunter biden's laptop remember that shit yeah where he's got like cool ass pics of him like smoking yeah or that was like it entered into evidence yeah honestly they were like yo do look at him he's he's taking like real wacky looking selfies smoking a cigarette with a leather jacket on that's that's disqualifying
Starting point is 00:08:19 right for his father you know look at him with that cigarette put it in evidence there's also wasn't in a one shot of him like taking a picture of his back tat like in a mirror he was taking all sorts of like like look at my body yeah look at my body you but like what does that have to do with anything for national security i'm sexy and i know they're like put it in evidence put it in evidence he's sexy and he knows it uh yeah oh okay okay uh let's see let's see let's see uh what else is trending let's fire up the trend machine oh smishing is trending which is sms phishing because look i don't know if you've ever fallen victim to people's phishing scams but there's this trend a lot of people who have verizon um on their mobile as
Starting point is 00:09:12 their mobile provider they're getting spam text messages from their own phone number when it's like hey don't worry just paid your bill for you and have a cool treat check this link out and it's you know a lot of people are already just confused they're like this text came from my own motherfucking number and it's telling me it paid my bill what's going on click the link then next thing you know you're exposing yourself uh and your sensitive information to people with bad bad intentions so i really love that i think they're i mean shout out to the the people doing the phishing scam where they're like yo hit them with their own number yeah because that would feel like something every older person would be like well it's me it's me
Starting point is 00:09:58 texting myself so i have to be able to trust this right no it's pretty um incredible that you're like oh i mean like the thinking is like yeah use their own number and you're like huh right i texted myself this so it must be safe like it just like as if we really like we would it's from me wait so i go wrong i did try time travel five years ago when i bought that machine oh my god it's happening i just don't know no maybe people do fall for it but it's still like really the concept that they're not even like trying to scam us anymore like is the level of like work is is just they're like whatever whatever, just send them their own message. Pretend it's themselves.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Yeah, try that one. They're like, yeah, it's working actually. Pretty cool. When people trust themselves. We're genuinely witnessing the collapse of society. All right, next trend. Oh, I mean, that's been happening. It's just kind of, it's amazing to witness.
Starting point is 00:11:05 It's just reaching like a lot of the rich people now. Yeah. All right, let's take a quick break and we'll be right back. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and LA-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high control groups and interview dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine. Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling firsthand accounts, the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration. It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Gianna Pradente. And I'm Jemay Jackson-Gadsden. We're the hosts of Let's Talk Offline, a new podcast from LinkedIn News and iHeart Podcasts. When you're just starting out in your career,
Starting point is 00:12:28 you have a lot of questions. Like, how do I speak up when I'm feeling overwhelmed? Or, can I negotiate a higher salary if this is my first real job? Girl, yes. Each week, we answer your unfiltered work questions. Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring your unfiltered work questions. Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice.
Starting point is 00:12:46 And if we don't know the answer, we bring in experts who do, like resume specialist Morgan Saner. The only difference between the person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets the job is usually who applies. Yeah, I think a lot about that quote. What is it, like you miss 100% of the shots you never take? Yeah, rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting yourself. Together, we'll share what it really takes
Starting point is 00:13:07 to thrive in the early years of your career without sacrificing your sanity or sleep. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports, where we live at the intersection of sports and culture. Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry,
Starting point is 00:13:31 Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese. I know I'll go down in history. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game. Every great player needs a foil. I ain't really near them boys. I just come here to play basketball every single day, and that's what I focus on.
Starting point is 00:13:43 From college to the pros, Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports. Angel Reese is a joy to watch. She is unapologetically black. I love her. What exactly ignited this fire? Why has it been so good for the game?
Starting point is 00:13:59 And can the fanfare surrounding these two supernovas be sustained? This game is only going to get better because the talent is getting better. This new season will cover all things sports and culture. Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. In a galaxy far, far away.
Starting point is 00:14:26 No, babe, that's taken. We're in our own world, remember? Right, in our own world. We're two space cadets. And totally normal humans. Sure, totally normal humans. Embark on a journey across the stars, discovering the wonders of the universe one episode at a time.
Starting point is 00:14:43 We'll talk about life, love, laughter, and why you should never argue with your co-pilot. Especially when she's always right. Right. And if we hit turbulence, just blame it on Mercury retrograde. Or Emily's questionable space piloting skills. Hey! Join us on In Our Own World
Starting point is 00:14:59 for cosmic conversations, stellar laughs, and super corny dad jokes. Listen to In Our own world as a part of the my cultura podcast network available on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts and don't worry we promise to avoid any black holes most of the time and we're back madison cawthorne is trending again because this guy we might get into it in the in a daily show or we might not he's he came out and saying these quotes being like yeah man you know and when i was when i'm in dc i've been offered cocaine and like going to sex orgies like that's what these people these people do out here even the republicans
Starting point is 00:15:45 and everyone's like wow real salacious story but also be believable um when you consider the people who are literally under investigation for their drug use and even sex trafficking mad gates um or just even like the general disposition of donald trump jr you know that man is flying uh through the beltway so he put this stuff out a lot of other republicans were like aghast they're like this never happened why would you even say stuff like that we don't even have sex this is nonsense um which now has led to minority leader kevin mccarthy saying he plans to speak with him um about his wild allegations but again i don't do you believe kevin mccarthy is being invited to orgies no and i think that's what he's probably gonna ask when he says i'm gonna talk to him he's like yo man where these orgies at he's like can i get in no
Starting point is 00:16:39 fuck yeah well he's trying he's trying he's trying and it's not happening for him so yes uh orgies drugs apart for the course i mean i've never heard drug or sex scandals involving politicians ever ever ever ever uh and maybe he's like yo keep that shit down don't let people know about the blow fuck parties that we have. Hilaria Baldwin is trending. Our favorite Spaniard. Because she's pregnant with her seventh child with Alec Baldwin.
Starting point is 00:17:16 I had no idea that they even had... I thought they had like three kids. I didn't know they had six. A lot of them are born while she's doing yoga positions on her oven. So what? They don't count? I don't know they had six a lot of them are born while she's doing yoga positions on her oven um so what they don't count i don't know let's just pop them out apparently i don't know she's like oh shit i'll get pregnant of her doing a yoga position on her oven top stove top wait there is you thought i made that up i mean honey these visuals don't just come from my brain i mean
Starting point is 00:17:43 your imagination is strong enough that i was like, okay, I like that. Wait, so she's, hold on. Hilaria oven yoga. Yoga. Stoga. Stove yoga. Oh, interesting. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Her head is in a pan. Yeah. What? So this is the other one where she's like like let me get these things out of the oven while doing i don't know any of these poses uh so good for them annoying um you know they're they're expecting their seventh child i can't imagine having i could i could barely imagine being a parent damn near fucking seven kids. That's like with one wife.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Woo! I do think her brand is like yoga mom. So I do think continuously having children helps that brand. Right. Because if you have no more babies to pose with, you're shit out of luck. Because people need that baby yoga content. How else can you continue continue to promote uh how to raise a child if now all your children are 45 and have moved on you know exactly she's like once
Starting point is 00:18:53 they're seven they're fucking useless to me to be honest for content like so she speed dials alex she says send over the sperm and she uh i'm assuming in a yoga position uh scoops it into her yeah god this is terrible i'm sorry i'm sorry terrible imagery i'm sorry um but that's uh shout out to them you know while being like cucumber cucumber uh how do you say in English, cucumber? I don't know. How do you guys say it in Massachusetts? Yeah. You say pickle over there or something? No, we call them cukes.
Starting point is 00:19:32 Call them cukes. What's it like in Boston? I don't know. Oh, in Massachusetts, we call it pepino. What? That's Spanish. You know what? Never mind, Hilaria.
Starting point is 00:19:43 Thank you. You are hilarious. Also, you know what never mind hilaria thank you you are hilarious also uh you know quick update at the fda authorized a second booster for people 50 and up and other vulnerable groups that's coming again yet another reminder still a pandemic folks um and the the other trend i want to talk about is the flash actor ezra miller he got arrested in hawaii after an incident at a karaoke bar and when you read what went down yo this shit is wild so he was at a karaoke karaoke bar um he was allegedly quote yelling obscenities and became agitated when people began singing karaoke at one point police say miller grabbed the microphone from a 23 year old woman who was mid-song miller later lunged at a 32 year old man playing darts both of those actions led to a disorderly conduct and harassment
Starting point is 00:20:29 offense and please recall blah blah blah blah blah so that's the flash um out here i mean did he not know he was at a karaoke bar or is he just doing a thing i look i'll be honest i hate not knowing when i'm at a karaoke bar and when it starts i'm like what the fuck we're at this karaoke uh i kind of have to be in the mood to be around it but i'm also not grabbing people's microphones yeah i don't know this guy seems like he has a lot of sort of stories about him potentially acting out like that he seems like a wild card in a way shoved a woman in like iceland or something like strangled her some shit like that and then wasn't he also saying like i'll slap a i'll slap a fucking nazi senseless yeah he also releases
Starting point is 00:21:18 videos of himself like threatening like white supremacists and stuff which is you know it's fine but i think it leads you know i i once everything starts to add up you're like yeah this behavior if not um i guess aimed in the correct direction could lead to you getting arrested at karaoke bar yeah look flash you need to pump the brakes you need to pump what's going on with him uh but yeah i don't know if what's going on with him uh but yeah i don't know if there's there's something else happening but you know what uh i don't know just there's something about the visual of somebody just going up to a person mid-song and snatching the microphone away from them that is kind of hilarious to me not in this context but more in a
Starting point is 00:21:59 harmless comedy scene version because i do there have been times i i'm just like have you ever been at a karaoke place and like not enough people are doing it so one person turns it into their like amateur karaoke show yeah totally it's not me or anything i think i just hate you like are you talking about when i did celine dion's third album front to back Yeah, I mean, who would do that? And why is that even a problem, though? Yeah, you're like, this Ezra Miller dude sounds awful. Just let people sing. Well, that's going to do it for today's trending episode.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Check back in tomorrow. We got a whole new one coming up. Jaquise is helping to co-host. And we got a great guest. And yeah, until next time. A quick reminder, guys. Mad Boosties is coming out this week. And the guys are legally not allowed to talk about basketball on Daily Zeitgeist.
Starting point is 00:22:55 And if they do, tweet at me and I will have my lawyers on it. Wait. Okay? I'm like, wait. Who's enforcing this? You're like, me. Oh, don't you guys worry I have a team of lawyers
Starting point is 00:23:08 That will have Miles and Jack Held up in litigation For years To come over this So get excited you guys We will drain them Of all their resources
Starting point is 00:23:18 Exactly Like a draconian Republican bill Opening us up To lawsuits Shout out to Everybody out there Doing good in the world
Starting point is 00:23:27 Please take care of yourselves and each other Protect yourself from the virus However you can If you need to get a booster or whatever Wear that mask, just keep yourself safe Don't do nothing about misogyny, hate, transphobia Homophobia, no kinds of nonsense like that And until next time
Starting point is 00:23:43 We will see you next time Okay, bye and nonsense like that. And until next time, we will see you next time. Okay, bye. Hey, I'm Gianna Pradenti.
