I am going to share my journey of how I went from Christianity to now a Hebrew Israelite. For some former NFL players, a new faith provides answers. You mix homesteading with guns and church. Voila! Starting point is 00:02:09 I'm Jack. You are Miles. That short show title is courtesy of you. Thank you. You're welcome. The brain. Miles. The brain gray.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Let's tell the people what's trending. We're going to talk about the coverage of hurricane ida on tomorrow's show show but suffice it to say that storm uh was a complete fucking disaster and um the media wants to cover some looting so we'll talk about that on tomorrow's episode but yeah donda was a big story from over the weekend uh kanye's's album finally dropped, uh, Sunday morning. And, uh, it's a mess.
Starting point is 00:02:49 It's has real, like some highs that I really enjoy. And, but it's, they are sprinkled across two hours of album, 27 tracks, 27 tracks. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:03:01 dude, I haven't listened to it yet. I, I figured cool shit, but I have like a thread of people who I used to listened to it yet. There's some cool shit. I have a thread of people who I used to work with in radio, and if they didn't say, yo, did you listen to it? Then I'm just kind of like,
Starting point is 00:03:13 oh, I guess there's not much excitement. Unless you're a big old Kanye stan. Big old stan. He can do no wrong. Okay. Yeah. Somebody needs to do the Topher gray star wars cut to this album and just edit it down into like a a good album and release that for what's the topher gray star
Starting point is 00:03:34 wars cut i think he like edited the um prequels down to be a single movie that is like watchable got it and somebody needs to do that with donda just cut it down to like an ilmatic length uh banger um but i mean honestly i feel like 10 songs you got an album yeah that's all you need to do is break into double digits i think he's doing the drake thing though that like if what it's basically uh you know juicing the u-gorithm uh the u-gorithm the youtube algorithm where uh like if you have a long video it like ups your minutes listened which like gets you to the top of the right of the charts i think that's what like drake drake albums now have like 30 songs on them yeah okay yeah that's what everyone says like spotify has changed the game because things
Starting point is 00:04:26 like the game mr anti-vax is trending because somebody who was a radio host conservative radio host went by mr anti-vax died of covid and he was a host for 30 years, said the U.S. government was acting like Nazis for insisting people get the shot. And this makes it the third conservative anti-vax radio host who has died of COVID in the past week, couple weeks. Phil Valentine eight days ago and Dick Farrell, a former Newsmax commentator all around coronavirus denying vaccine resistant right wing radio talk show host died on August 6th. Yeah. And that's also this other, I guess, activist like anti mask activist from San Angelo, Texas, who's like 30. He also just passed away from covid. And like, dude, he's like he's like three young kids that's horrible man it's just and then his wife wears a mask and like she even
Starting point is 00:05:33 said she's like oh you know it's just kind of like we're like opposites but that's why we work like i i wear a mask and like he doesn't and that's that's just kind of what we that's just kind of how we balance each other out yeah so it's just a bad bad situation and that's that's just kind of what we that's just kind of how we balance each other out yeah so it's just a bad bad situation and what's wild though too is like people were fucking speculating like what even i think it was what happened with uh bernier like whether he actually succumbed from covid or if it was like a thing the reason he died was because he's on a ventilator oh no that was because of this other guy Caleb Wallace that people began to
Starting point is 00:06:07 saying like oh it's because they put him on a ventilator and that's ventilators are actually what kills people it's ventilators or another person thought it could have been like a hit from the feds to make a point of course there's no point the only point that's being made is just happening
Starting point is 00:06:23 very rapidly and playing out in a pretty natural way uh so yeah i don't know when these this just feels like this kind of story like we're not gonna stop hearing about until it burns through like this community yeah you know you got to feel for like the true believers it's's just a, it's a system of disinformation. That's like fucking infecting the country. They think they're right, you know, up until their death. But when it's, when it's somebody who's out here cynically spreading the message so that they can make money for 30 years, I'm a little like there's no way in the 30, his 30 year
Starting point is 00:07:04 career of spouting right wing nonsense. He never saw the consequences of his bullshit. So Rand Paul is trending. Yeah. Yeah. This is always good news. Mr. Mr.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Misinformation. He's just back. You know, Ivermectin. Everybody says people aren't fucking putting down the fucking horse cream because they want fucking dewormer to solve their problems all scientists are like this is this doesn't come back covet like yes there have been human applications but there's nothing to do with covet so the logic that people be like well people have used it before and like other doses that's like dude and everyone's like you don't you you not some fucking weird. Well, maybe you are some medieval apothecary, apparently, because you think you can mix up horse paste and shit and get your shit going.
Starting point is 00:07:51 But yeah, Rand Paul is saying, like, the reason they're not looking into the efficacy of ivermectin is because there's just a hatred of Trump in the air. It's a big horse, man. All the horses got together. They're like, no no you don't get our dewormer exactly a horse from the the fucking brave hearts you know naz's rap crew yes calm horse what a name killer what a rap name but yeah it's uh this is just it's gonna this uh sort of never-ending campaign about trying to get ivermectin as like a treatment i don't understand why it it what's the point of this like it just there's preventative medicine why are you going all in on weird treatments and if you don't want treatments go get duped by ron desantis or greg abbott and to go pay out you know through the teeth for regeneron yeah it's just it is interesting it's like a folk remedy that that's
Starting point is 00:08:53 like the thing that they're willing to believe in anything that the government isn't telling them to do basically yeah i mean is there any sense in putting the vaccine in the horse dewormer and just like getting. I don't know. Doing like some psyop shit where we start getting people vaccinated by just like tricking them into thinking that they're taking some sort of like renegade cure that Donald Trump mixed up himself or something. It's such a delicate thing. It's like you're not, you know, a part of me like the mischievous side is like well look if they're if they can be duped by misinformation you can probably be clever enough to dupe them into information again right um but at the end of the day it's just not it's the people are just too all in on like certain things and yeah i'm i'm really not sure
Starting point is 00:09:40 at this point i'm just sort of like you know what you're gonna go off and go do you because you know i i see it in my surroundings too where it's like i don't i really i truly don't know what to say to people um aside from just like i'm not interested in an argument i'd rather just be like okay look i'm not we're not going to convince each other so just do you away from me all right uh let's take a quick break and we'll be right back. This summer, the nation watched as the Republican nominee for president was the target of two assassination attempts separated by two months. These events were mirrored nearly 50 years ago when President Gerald Ford faced two attempts on his life in less than three weeks. President Gerald R. Ford came stunningly close
Starting point is 00:10:32 to being the victim of an assassin today. And these are the only two times we know of that a woman has tried to assassinate a U.S. president. One was the protege of infamous cult leader Charles Manson. I always felt like Lynette was kind of his right-hand woman. The other, a middle-aged housewife working undercover for the FBI in a violent revolutionary underground. Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore. The story of one strange and violent summer. This is Rip Current, available now with new episodes every Thursday. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:11:12 I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session. 24 hours.
Starting point is 00:11:29 BPM 110. 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it.
Starting point is 00:11:42 That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller
Starting point is 00:12:02 from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It was December 2019 when the story blew up. In Green Bay, Wisconsin, former Packers star Kabir Bajabiamila caught up in a bizarre situation. KGB explaining what he believes led to the arrest of his friends at a children's Christmas play. A family man, former NFL player, devout Christian, now cut off from his family and connected to a strange arrest. I am going to share my journey of how I went from Christianity to now a Hebrew Israelite. I got swept up in Kabir's journey, but this was only the beginning.
Starting point is 00:12:46 In a story about faith and football, the search for meaning away from the gridiron and the consequences for everyone involved. You mix homesteading with guns and church and a little bit of the spice of conspiracy theories that we liked. Voila! You got straight away. I felt like I was living in North Korea, but worse, if that's possible. Listen to Spiraled on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In a galaxy far, far away.
Starting point is 00:13:16 No, babe, that's taken. We're in our own world, remember? Right. In our own world, we're two space cadets. And totally normal humans.ets and totally normal humans. Sure, totally normal humans. Embark on a journey across the stars, discovering the wonders of the universe
Starting point is 00:13:31 one episode at a time. We'll talk about life, love, laughter, and why you should never argue with your co-pilot. Especially when she's always right. Right. And if we hit turbulence, just blame it on Mercury retrograde. Or Emily's questionable space piloting skills. Hey, join us on In Our Own World for cosmic conversations, stellar laughs.
Starting point is 00:13:53 And super corny dad jokes. Listen to In Our Own World as a part of the My Cultura podcast network available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And don't worry, we promise to avoid any black holes. Most of the time. And we're back. Certified lover boy. Speaking of Drake. Speaking of Drake.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Speaking of nicknames that you went by for a long time. Certified lover boy actually before i should come at him i used to be called certified flubber boy uh because on the movie flubber the robin williams version yeah i was all about that flubber and they're like look at this little flubber boy certified flubber flubber quotes all over the place oh yeah like flubber or that's flubber yeah i think those i don't even know i haven't i can't remember a damn quote from that my dad always used to call me lover boy or be like he's a lover not a fighter because i because you cried when you got angry yeah exactly because like i would like hang out with a girl or something instead of like playing
Starting point is 00:15:07 basketball all day right right yeah i'm just trying to make sense of these kids you know he's uh he's a lover anyways uh fellow certified lover boy drake is dropping uh an album this friday to yeah you know let kanye know what's what and to uh you know drop some more hard verses about all the calabasas mob ties he has uh in calabasas canadian mob ties yeah that song's so good on scorpion mob ties but it's so dumb because he's like rapping about what but he's he's got you know that's his thing is he's just a performer so yeah it's everything's believable but yeah his album cover you see the album cover it's all these emojis of like pregnant people oh really yeah
Starting point is 00:15:57 um i so we'll see you know what i? I'm a, I am simple. I have simple taste. I'm fine with, uh, I will listen to the shit out of Donda and certified lover boy and, uh, probably enjoy them. Oh man.
Starting point is 00:16:17 I I'll, I'll do my thing where I'll listen to it. Like I did when I was 12, I'm gonna go straight to the singles. Yeah. And then if some of the other tracks catch my attention then I'll listen you leave it on too long and you hear one of the tracks yeah I mean that's when I felt like I was a fucking adult is when I would play it I'll buy an album and let
Starting point is 00:16:36 that shit cook from track one to the end because I used to just be like I would put in no way out and go straight to track 10 all about the Benjamins um and i for a while i had like it was a cd single of all about the benjamins without realizing all the other shit that was on there victory um yeah but like i missed that's how you feel on scorpion for a long time oh yeah that was that was the one track that got me yeah that one's like a very low-key one yeah um anyway certified lover boy out friday bishop sycamore oh my god well what is this jack this is the fucking best thing i've ever fucking read uh first of all just this is the headline that caught my attention high school football team may have lied to espn to
Starting point is 00:17:25 play on national tv i said okay well you maybe lied about who your background who was on the team things like that so there was this game that was being played between uh img academy and this school called bishop sycamore and you know img is like a real place you know that's like that's an actual school uh and then a lot of people like okay we heard of them like bishop sycamore i don't know it sounds like a fucking school sounds like a school they named the name of the school yeah yeah because bishop whatever is just no i feel like in every state there's a bishop something that's like some kind of jesuit or catholic high school that has like a football team. So this fucking team, this game aired on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:18:16 And you come to find out Bishop Sycamore is like not really a school, like an actual high school. They played like two games in three days, like before, like that culminating the Sunday game. Their head coach has an active arrest warrant and a lot of their players are like juco dropouts who aren't even close to being in high school like high school age so it was like some fucking whole just just a fucking scam so i just want to play this money for like playing in the game i have no idea what exactly have like what they got in exchange or whatever the one thing i'll say is like when people looked into like what bishop sycamore was they're like dude this i don't even know if this is a real school at all the only
Starting point is 00:18:54 thing they could find uh like a football scoop where they were looking is that there's like an online only charter school with a web but they say a website that resembles a blog oof so this was like all you had to sort of vet this team and they said they had a bunch of like d1 prospects i just want to play this thing because as the game is happening this team bishop sycamore lost 58 to nothing you can tell the commentators are like realizing that this is a fucking shit show that they've been duped by. Bishop Sycamore told us they had a number of Division I prospects on their roster. To be frank, a lot of that we could not verify. And they did not show up in our database. They did not show up in the databases of other recruiting services.
Starting point is 00:19:40 So it's okay. If that's what you're telling us, fine. That's how we take it in from what we've seen so far this is not a fair fight and and there's got to be a point now ludes where you do worry about health and safety i already am worried about it i think it's um this is this could potentially be dangerous given the circumstances and the mismatch that we have here and um and and quite honestly bishop sycamore doesn't have not only the front line players, but they don't have the depth in case something were to happen to their roster
Starting point is 00:20:12 with maybe a kid or two here throughout the remaining two and a half quarters of this football game. It was so bad. They were getting beat so badly. They were like, something's up here. Something's up. And then I think that's when they were like oh my god this none of this is real because this other this this like legit high school team img like they were just so good they were just lighting them up did they make it to the end of the game i think so i don't know i mean like they only have five guys if one of them gets hurt yeah so it hasn't been a great couple of weeks for espn weird scam why what else happened to espn i haven't been you know the rachel nichols thing she got pulled from all the nba stuff
Starting point is 00:20:51 oh right it's like the because that maria taylor tape anyway so yeah uh good love to see this hope to see y'all on uh scam goddess coming yeah i was just gonna say this would be great because this is a scam that i don't understand the angle like i don't understand who's getting what out of this right although like the coach and you saw him the second i saw his gold his one gold tooth i said come on now he looked like the bad guy in 80s movie like he's not but hey maybe he's just like this roughneck coach but anyway you tried it and you succeeded. Finally, Ed Asner is trending because he passed away. He was 91. Classic actor you've seen in many things.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Although I can't name them right now. Everything that they were talking about him being in is like lou grant but he oh he was the voice and up um mary tyler moore but that was before my time elf he's an elf yeah yeah a classic you got it he's done it all i mean i just know him as like ed asner who would like do he would do so many like he would just pop up on a sitcom as someone's grandfather, and people were like, wow, Ed! And I'm like, oh, I guess people used to, they really loved Ed Asner. But he's also a super politically active guy, too. Wait, who was he in Cobra Kai?
Starting point is 00:22:19 Who was he in Cobra Kai? Oh, he's Johnny's dad. That's right. Oh, that's right! Looking. Yeah. Looking old. old yeah looking real but yeah he's um dude i remember he was like all about like free free mumia abu jamal and shit he's he's kind of he's out there dude nice yeah so this got us cut started on the conversation of like people who we were kind of surprised when we heard they
Starting point is 00:22:45 were still alive and we were we were talking about how we couldn't believe wilford brimley is still alive uh except he died last year but wilford brimley when he was in cocoon was 51 years old he was eight years younger than tom cruise's right now he he was like young he just played so hard to compute when you say it like that he played he just played an old guy even when he was like in the thing he was in his 40s right well i guess just when you have a like a salt and pepper gray push broom mustache yeah that'll do it you're like oh yeah this guy's fucking 90 yeah it's like i'm fucking 14 folks sorry right kind of kind of just look a little older than i should this is what happens to the kid who like buys you beer when you're all in like
Starting point is 00:23:38 middle school because he looks right he just keeps it was it was wilford brimley the whole time i mean yeah the other part i mean no disrespect i thought ed asner had already passed away yeah like when he said that i said oh i thought he oh okay yeah it's you know it's time look we we don't know what's going on anymore but to know that he when you think about that tom cruise is 59 years old right now. Yeah. What is he? What's his secret? Is it the Thetans?
Starting point is 00:24:11 Like, what is it? Yeah, man. I think I've said this before, but seeing him in person was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. Just walking past him. I know. And I'm not going to go get a personality test as much as you keep asking me to do that it just helped me I don't know yeah you know might not help you but it definitely
Starting point is 00:24:30 helped me and how many auditions did you get that you said you're gonna get all these auditions if you went to some of the class some of them the group it's not about the auditions it's about the fact that when I'm driving by on the highway and I see a car crash I stop because I know I can help them. Oh my god!
Starting point is 00:24:48 That's a direct quote, I think. From Tom Cruise? Tom Cruise, yeah. In his Scientology video. Dude, Scientology saviors out here. Okay. Yes. Alright, that is gonna do it for today. We are back
Starting point is 00:25:04 tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccine. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Bye. What happens when a professional football player's career ends and the applause fades and the screaming fans move on?
