Starting point is 00:02:02 or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, internet, and welcome to this edition of Zeitman's All for Trend. I just came up with that. Shout out Shirley Bassey. I think isn't that her? And she also did Goldfinger. All those iconic James Bond songs that people really should be sampling more of. But I digress.
Starting point is 00:02:25 I am Miles. I'm joined by super producer Anna Hosnier. Hello, Anna. Hello, I have to be here. Oh, God, I know. Don't we all? So let's tell everybody what is a trending today. Michael Che, he is trending for dumb fucking reasons. This man started posting some real tasteless fucked up jokes about simone biles on his instagram stories like really fucking dumb like it was like this whole thing where he was like oh i want to be cheeky and i want a place i want to do some bad jokes like what do you guys got and he was reposting jokes that people were sending to him. Some had to do with, like, Larry Nassar and, like, Black Don't Crack. Like, really? Like, the most hack offensive shit.
Starting point is 00:03:11 Like, if you're an actual comedian getting paid, like, you got no place even posting shit like this. It's stupid. And, you know, he got rightfully dragged. And then he, like, posted some shit where he tried to pretend he got hacked at the end of the day which is bullshit but i think that what that was part of the bit because he just posted it in the same like i think he was he was continuing to be an asshole by trolling us to be like oh my god i got hacked but it's the exact same font and background of what i've been posting all the fucked up jokes on so i think he's even further being like condescending to us yeah no absolutely because i mean the way it was so like tongue in cheek like he's like man i got hacked today can't believe they got me y'all know i only do jokes
Starting point is 00:03:56 about whites and cops it's all good now i changed my password and everything anyway y'all hear about the baby though that's crazy all right see y'all at church i'm gonna get there early that's what he posted nice pivot again the baby is also what a fucking week that idiot has had um with his stupid homophobic like rants he was doing uh on stage and then like in a video after that but yeah i don't know i don't know why people are fucking think that simone biles is a punchline at all it's's just, fuck, it's offensive. And for anybody who gives a fuck about their mental health, you could immediately have empathy for
Starting point is 00:04:32 Simone Biles and be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, you gotta take care of yourself. Gotta take care of yourself. You don't know anybody, you don't owe anyone shit except to yourself. Billie Eilish is trending because she got a new album out and I'm gonna listen to it in a second because i'm really curious because always interesting to hear people's sophomoric efforts
Starting point is 00:04:51 and apparently this is not a traditional sophomoric effort because everyone's like this shit is good this is very good okay i hope so because i'm really nervous because like I loved her first album. I really like Billie Eilish. And I really, and I really like her brother Phineas. I think he's an amazing producer. Yeah. Just the way the thing, the beats he comes up with,
Starting point is 00:05:16 I mean, incredible work. Like he's a Renaissance man in my mind. I just think he's so interesting. Of course, his sister is great too. I'm just like raving about his brother her brother but uh no i'm nervous listen to it because i was like i don't want it to be bad i don't want to hate it no no and i think that's what everyone you know
Starting point is 00:05:36 has like that feeling is whenever someone obviously comes out with like the fire debut album it's the sophomore jinx the second album curse whatever people want to call it can be very real um for other artists but you know i think that's the difference between great artists and just other artists is that they will be consistent with it um and yeah happier than ever um is just is top in the charts baby um and a lot of people yeah it's it's great i feel like everybody's like you got to check it out you got to check it out i haven't read a or a bad word about it i wish more like celebrities could have the same essence of happier than ever instead of
Starting point is 00:06:17 where's my money or than ever you know right where's my money here? Come on, dude. Sounds like you're doing well. Yeah. Also, Prince. Yes, Prince. The purple one. The artist formerly known as, however you want to talk about him, the man from Minnesota. He has a new album
Starting point is 00:06:39 out called Welcome to America. And his estate has brought it out of the vault it was recorded in 2010 and it is the first full like quite literally unheard studio album from Prince since he passed away in 2016 and that's like yeah apparently they say like the Paisley Park vault is chock full of material that people have never heard wow like the disney vault we're opening it again i love that but no that's cool that they're they're their his estate is willing to release more music that's amazing it was recorded in 2010 it has like a really critical like tone about
Starting point is 00:07:16 america and things like that in it so um should be interesting pink masks are also trending because three fencers on the men's olympic team uh were like when they were entering their first match in tokyo on friday today they were wearing pink masks and then they were like well there's four people on the team three of them have pink masks and one of them is wearing a black one that's because jake hoyle curtis mcdowell and yizer ramirez they were wearing the pink masks to protest the fact that their teammate alan hadzich uh who is he's currently under investigation for sexual assault and they were essentially wearing these masks to show that they do not stand with this person and that they absolutely felt felt that this person should not be on the Olympic team given these allegations about him.
Starting point is 00:08:06 So, yeah, a bit of what? Yeah. Yeah. So a bit of protest. I mean, when you look at the picture, it's wild because like you can tell these three other guys are like, fuck this other dude. And they're all standing together. Yeah, it's it's pretty, you know, know i mean like shout out to them for you know really taking a stand and and making it known because i think a lot of the times you know men protect
Starting point is 00:08:31 each other when it comes to shit like that and the tides tides need to turn uh in terms of like when you're calling shitty shit behavior or you know straight up assault and things like that out and saying like i don't want anything to do with it. I don't want to be associated with it. So, yeah. I will say the photo they have going around with the guy who is facing sexual abuse allegations. Is the one where he's like gritting his teeth? They found the most unused photo.
Starting point is 00:09:01 It looks like a Sacha Baron Cohen character. Yeah. It was like, it's like a full tooth grill i don't know why they're i mean whatever that that's the picture that they have of them um so i'm glad they're like fuck this guy um and then ibtihaj muhammad she even tweeted she's like the team wore pink masks for the opening match at the olympics as a show of support for sexual assault victims alan hadjich their teammate accused of rape and sexual assault is on the left kudos to the team for taking a stand hashtag believe women yeah so and i don't think he participated um on friday
Starting point is 00:09:34 but that's what's going on in the olympics uh amongst many other things okay let's take a quick break and we'll be right back to talk My Pillow Guy and maybe In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the House of the Gucci. We'll talk about that trailer too right after this. This summer, the nation watched as the Republican nominee for president was the target of two assassination attempts separated by two months. These events were mirrored nearly 50 years ago when President Gerald Ford faced two attempts on his life in less than three weeks.
Starting point is 00:10:15 President Gerald R. Ford came stunningly close to being the victim of an assassin today. And these are the only two times we know of that a woman has tried to assassinate a U.S. president. One was the protege of infamous cult leader Charles Manson. I always felt like Lynette was kind of his right-hand woman. The other, a middle-aged housewife working undercover for the FBI in a violent revolutionary underground. Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore. The story of one strange and violent summer. This is Rip Current.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Available now with new episodes every Thursday. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do.
Starting point is 00:11:10 One session. 24 hours. BPM 110. 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that?
Starting point is 00:11:24 You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:11:42 They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:11:58 In a galaxy far, far away. No, babe, that's taken. We're in our own world, remember? Right, in our own world. We're two space cadets. And totally normal humans. Sure, totally normal humans. Embark on a journey across the stars,
Starting point is 00:12:15 discovering the wonders of the universe one episode at a time. We'll talk about life, love, laughter, and why you should never argue with your co-pilot. Especially when she's always right. Right. And if we hit turbulence, just blame it on Mercury retrograde. Or Emily's questionable space piloting skills. Hey, join us on In Our Own World for cosmic conversations, stellar laughs, and super corny dad jokes.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Listen to In Our Own World as a part of the My Cultura podcast network available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And don't worry, we promise to avoid any black holes. Most of the time. It was December 2019 when the story blew up. In Green Bay, Wisconsin, former Packers star Kabir Bajabiamila caught up in a bizarre situation. KGB explaining what he believes led to the arrest of his friends at a children's Christmas play. A family man, former NFL player, devout Christian, now cut off from his family and connected to a strange arrest. I am going to share my journey of how I went from Christianity to now a Hebrew Israelite.
Starting point is 00:13:26 I got swept up in Kabir's journey, but this was only the beginning. In a story about faith and football, the search for meaning away from the gridiron and the consequences for everyone involved. You mix homesteading with guns and church and a little bit of the spice of conspiracy theories that we liked. Voila! You got straight away. I felt like I was living in North Korea, spice of conspiracy theories that we liked. Voila! You got straight away. I felt like I was living in North Korea, but worse, if that's possible.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Listen to Spiraled on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. Mike Lindell is trending, the MyPillow guy, because he is taking a fucking stand, y'all. He is essentially, he's so upset that Fox News will, like, refuses to run this ad. Like, he has, like, some stupid fucking piece of content out that's just meant to fucking further the big lie about election fraud and, how he's gonna help you
Starting point is 00:14:26 know what is what i've got going on you gotta check it out it's just it's the truth and it was stolen from us fox was like they i guess apparently they just drew a line like we're we can't do this like this is a bridge too far even for us um so we're not gonna air it in response he's essentially what he said was like look okay then i'll pull all of my ads from fox news and it turns out he is a significant advertiser on fox um but i guess that makes sense when like a lot of like major companies treat you like radioactive waste and they don't want to be anywhere around you um that by default my pillow guy becomes number one but yeah he's taking still selling pillows he's not though he's taking his pillow and running.
Starting point is 00:15:05 How is he still selling pillows? He's not though. He's not. That's the thing is like when you look at like the ads that they're running, it's like they're for deep fucking discounts. Like the kinds, you know, like, you know, you and I will do a little online shopping. You know, when you follow a website and then suddenly like they start doing sale after sale after sale after sale he's
Starting point is 00:15:25 like oh is everything okay with this place that i usually like to buy stuff from that's what it feels like when you look at the my pillow stuff but then like everything though is he's gone beyond just trying to be like this is a great pillow it's almost like if you buy this pillow you are aligned with massive voter fraud conspiracy theory thinking like it's just become like you know because some of the codes he'd put in would be like protect democracy like to stop this deal would be like a code to get 40% off
Starting point is 00:15:52 a fucking pillow that's the worst way to find out that the company you are supporting is like use code stop the steal yeah code lock her up to get your new fanny pack. It's like, well, fuck, dude.
Starting point is 00:16:08 I used to like your shit, but not anymore. But yeah, the way Fox News has responded, they said, it's unfortunate Mr. Lindell has chosen to pause his commercial time on Fox News given the level of success he's experienced in building his brand through advertising on the number one cable news network. Whatever. Whatever. experienced in building his brand through advertising on the number one cable news network whatever whatever peace the fuck out um emma stone she's trending she's trending and supporting her girl i know the the the two asian actresses standing up for each other tweets have been flying across the internet um
Starting point is 00:16:46 but yes apparently after scarlett johansson sued disney because of the black widow streaming stuff and she alleges like the loss of revenue from that emma stone apparently this is the thing now quote weighing her options regarding the film cruella so yeah it's just so weird i don't know who who i care less about you know what what are you gonna do like it's what about the people who like have to work in movie theaters and people aren't going to the movie theaters but you're like i need my fucking other million and then you figure out how to make up the rest disney uh but that's that's what doesn't make sense to me it's like what are you why are you suing disney like i don't know to me it's like really pick your battles and this one just doesn't feel like
Starting point is 00:17:37 i don't know like disney's shady yeah i don't know like it it's funny like how the people are already like siding they're like go scarlet or like people like i'm with disney and you're like y'all shut the fuck up you're dealing with people why don't you talk about people who are like you know like in guatemala right now they're doing massive strikes to fucking you know protest corruption and shit and you're like yeah man scarlett johansson needs 20 more million these people man you don't owe them shit but again i get the um the sort of basics of a fundamental business agreement and if you run afoul of that then yes you want to hold people to account but there's a lot of a lot of heroes coming out for disney too this is so weird to watch all this fucking weird solidarity in this version but it is what it is well disney came out with like and shaded
Starting point is 00:18:32 scarlet being like can you believe this fucking greedy bitch wants money during a pandemic is she for real right now y'all we don't think so and you know what i think we saw you on january 6th like it's that it's that shady like they were trying to throw her under the bus yeah so hard i don't know you know she might be one of these communists i don't know do you see that picture with her and xi jinping i don't know they literally said callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. And also it's like, that's rich coming from the people who are like, we need to open our fucking parks. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:13 Really? It's just like, what? What is everyone doing right now? Like back off. Everyone back off. Go home. Wear a mask. Get vaccinated.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Stop engaging in these weird fights like what yeah it's fucking i mean whack it's it's like again it's the battle of who can care less or who could i care less about and i they're both winning okay now let's talk real quick or a lot a bit about this house of gucci trailer that came out where before we were talking with jamie loftus and she was like we're like did you see it and she's like yeah and i don't know if people are doing a good job of acting or a bad job of acting and i'm trying to figure it out because the accents are so thick it feels like an snl sketch and it's kind of jokey but at the same time like it's very glamorous and it's all high fashion and glitzy and shit so there's like it's very visually
Starting point is 00:20:11 stimulating but when you hear like lady gaga like it is about gucci and all the other shit i'm like with beauty and color you're like what it's time to take out the trash and i'm like is that i'm not an expert on accents but i'm curious to know what what went into it um and i don't know everybody looks very glamorous and goochified yeah are you more excited less excited when you watch that oh look you know me i love look i love movies and that that's a little thing you might not know about me i love movies but i i love a trailer like i love analyte my favorite thing is to just imagine how everyone really is on the set like you know one look gaga look Gaga is off her Oscar win on Star is Born
Starting point is 00:21:07 so she knows one thing that she is an acteur she's coming so hard with this accent what did she say in the name of the holy the father the son in the house of Gucci
Starting point is 00:21:22 and you know she's like fucking nailed it i know right meanwhile we're laughing because like this shit is so heavy-handed but also like that's kind of sick though like that's iconic and she's like in a movie with pacino jared leto has 10 pounds of like prosthetics on everyone in this movie is being like i'm fucking killing it and then you got adam driver who you know will never see this movie because he can't watch himself. And he's just there because he's a great actor. And I don't think he says anything in the trailer except for, but they're my family. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:21:56 The whole movie, you would think this shit was called House of Gaga. Yeah. Because these other people, they don't say a single thing. I think Jared Leto says like, she's a spicy one or she's a real character or whatever. And that's it. And it's like our reactions. And Pacino's just like, put on trendier clothes. You know, like that is it.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Right. That's it. They're like, hold on. And they'll just be like, Academy Award winner, Jeremy Irons. Academy Award winner, Al Pacino. And like half the time they show them Jeremy Irons was just sit back smoking a cigarette. He didn't even say a fucking word.
Starting point is 00:22:30 I'm like, okay, what do you win an Academy Award for smoking a cigarette? And this lady got like, I don't really consider myself an ethical person. And you're like, okay. What is going on? I mean, it's going to it's again it will be a sight to behold yeah i'm
Starting point is 00:22:49 just like really you know what i love a good like wild movie like this that's based on true uh like a true story so i'm excited like excessive too yes so excessive everyone's doing acts like italian accents that you're like what and you know what i'll be there i'll be in the theaters yeah what do you think like what what should they do you know like i mean because a lot of people the accent stuff is has been i think some people are like it's great and i've also seen stuff be like yo this is so hack like what what is this accent this is like other people like she sounds russian at times but i don't know like what you do like are you supposed to just not do an accent like or do it like how they did like chernobyl where some people just spoke like in their natural voices rather than
Starting point is 00:23:42 trying to do an accent of like this specific country but i guess like for gucci it has to be accents because it would be sound just wild if lady gaga is like in the name of the father the son and the house of gucci like it doesn't quite ring the same but i don't know i mean it helps that lady gaga is italian um but i will say if you're gonna do a movie like this you have to go i mean i think they took the right direction like just go hard like just be like it's time to take the trash out like literally like you just be like who is this person yeah and it's like just do it you know what go camp go hard be hack who cares because you know it's going to be a very aesthetically pleasing movie with ridley scott directing and so like why not you know what i love a good cinematic absurd masterpiece that in about one year we'd be like
Starting point is 00:24:37 who the fuck made this you know that's what i want to see i want to see a movie that stands the test of time in the sense that it is absurd as hell. Yeah, it stands the test of time, the time that it takes to watch it. And then you forget about it. And then you question why you watched it months later. There is a post on Twitter that said from Gaga Daily that says they're trying to say like, no, she actually did well. It said Lady Gaga bodied Patrizia Reggiani's accent and mannerisms. Let me just play this really quick so we can assess if Gaga really did body Patrizia.
Starting point is 00:25:11 Let's see this. It's better to cry in Rolls Royce than to be happy on a bicycle. Okay, so that's the real Patrizia right there. Lord. I don't consider myself to be a particularly ethical person, but I am fair. I don't know. I think, I mean, look, they're fans of Lady...
Starting point is 00:25:34 But I am fair. To cry in Rolls Royce than to be happy on a bicycle. On a bicycle. That is for sure, you poor piece of shit. Get out of my face. Okay, I could have played that role yeah hey we're gonna hey anna hosnier got the best actress oh my god thank you thank you for this moment of appreciation she's done it folks she's done it she's done it oh god but uh yeah i mean
Starting point is 00:26:01 look i love accents and uh i love when that's a tough take i look, I love accents and I love when people... That's a tough take. I love accents. I love accents. You know, I love to hear them. I love character work, but we'll see. And this one, again, because it's so like high fashion, high, you know, like just excessive wealth and stuff.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Like, it's like, I don't know, like, do we need to really give a fuck about how they're represented? These are like characters anyway. Yeah. I mean, Gucci's not exactly the most ethical brand we've ever interacted with. Gucci doesn't give a fuck about how anything is represented. Okay. So in that way, we're fair game for the dumbest shit you can do.
Starting point is 00:26:40 But anyway, shout out Patrizia. Shout out Lady Gaga. Shout out Adam Driver. Shout out adam driver shout out uh films okay well that's gonna do it for today thank you anna for joining me today um everybody else have a great weekend we got a new episode coming monday obviously until then please wear a mask encourage people to get vaccinated we encourage you to get vaccinated to stay safe uh and just treat each other with kindness and go forth and do the things to be happy in the rosary and not in the vice and remember to take out the trash all right we'll see you later bye
Starting point is 00:27:18 kay hasn't heard from her sister in seven years i have a proposal for you I'm sorry. repeating itself. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing.
