Starting point is 00:01:40 Our podcast, Hungry for History, is back. And this season, we're taking an even bigger bite out of the most delicious food and its history. Seeing that the most popular cocktail is the margarita, followed by the mojito from Cuba, and the piƱa colada from Puerto Rico. Listen to Hungry for History on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Hello, the internet, and welcome to Zyde Morphin Power Rangers. I'm Jack O'Brien. you get your podcasts. And let's tell them what's trending, Miles. What's trending? What's trending? What's trending, man? Nickelodeon's trending because the NFL, who is the only company that's still the only sports league that's still just upping at them, doing business like nothing's going on. I don't know if they announced this or how this was released, but the NFL will be broadcasting games on Nickelodeon in a bid to attract younger fans. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Which has very predatory vibes. That just feels like... Especially, you know, the reason the NFL is becoming less popular with kids is because nobody's playing football because it is a deadly hazard to children's health um and the way they're trying to combat it is by putting it on nickelodeon oh yeah right guy in a van being like hey kiddos i got i candy. I got candy. I mean, it's called CTE,
Starting point is 00:03:27 but you guys fuck with it, right? Oh, okay. Well, I mean, that's a really desperate move when it's like, do they think suddenly kids are gonna be like, you know what, mom? Fuck Daniel Tiger.
Starting point is 00:03:41 I'm all about these Cincinnati Bengals. There you go. Anyway, Lindsay Lohan. All about these Cincinnati Bengals. There you go. Anyway. Lindsay Lohan. All about these Detroit Tigers. Lindsay Lohan. That's baseball, but fine. Lindsay Lohan's also trending.
Starting point is 00:03:55 I thought maybe she died, but it turns out she just has music coming out. She has an announcement video that was like a smash TV. It looked like it reminded me of that Apple commercial from the 80s when it's like, we're breaking out of the paradigm. It's like from the ashes of society emerges a piece of burnt trash called Lindsay Lohan. And she's got one line. She's just saying, I'm back.
Starting point is 00:04:21 And I can't wait because I remember, I think Rumors was one of her earlier hits that she had. A guy I went to high school with played in her band. And I remember we made so much fun of him because we're like, bro, you're in Lindsay Lohan's band. Cut to him being very wealthy. But yeah, good to see. Good to see her getting out there. And maybe she'll do the weird Middle Eastern affect that she speaks with in some of her live videos. I don't know yet. I was curious what, like in the announcement, what is her dialect?
Starting point is 00:04:54 Like, is she speaking just straight up? She's just like, I'm back. That's it. Okay. There is a video clip of her. It looks like she's dancing at a gas station. And her dancing is like, it's like, you know, I'm not gonna say she can't dance, but she's dancing at a gas station and her dancing is like it's like you know i'm not gonna say she can't dance but she's very rigid so she has like wine mom moves like a wine mom who
Starting point is 00:05:12 you know used to be a cheerleader if you'd believe it sort of those kinds of moves where it's like okay you got a little honey in the hips but there's still a little something mechanical about it i'm having a hard time because wine mom to me is very swaying in the breeze type thing. I might just not spend enough time around Wine Mom. I think if a Wine Mom says, I'm going to actually turn up this dance routine to maybe if I'm normally at a six, I'm going to show you guys what a full on 10. I'm going to do a full out, as we all know from Cheer. If a Wine Mom goes full out, that's Lindsay
Starting point is 00:05:46 Lohan's dancing. Shout out to her. I have to watch this video now as I'm sure do all Zeitgang members. I just googled Lindsay Lohan dancing. Sure. That's one way to
Starting point is 00:06:02 see it. I'm talking a very specific moment at around the 19 second mark of her Twitter video. She's one way to see it. I'm talking a very specific moment at around the 19 second mark of her Twitter video. She's like kind of bobbing. I don't know. There's something, the move she's doing. Oh, okay. This is in her video. I thought you just like found a video. No, this is part of the announcement where she looks like, yeah, she like, I would have believed you said like, you know, I used to dance with Pauladul back in the 80s this is very very self-serious yeah okay okay yeah i feel you you know what i mean you're like a lot of hand dancing a lot of painting definitely feels like it could be part of a routine right but she but she's only doing
Starting point is 00:06:38 the part that she knows she can kill so she'll just give you that right a quick four count wild ghost riding the whip or pretending to ghost ride the whip while she's actually just having the person who she's paying. Oh, was she doing the Drake challenge? What do you think? Is that what she was doing? I think that's what she was trying to do. Do you love?
Starting point is 00:06:55 Okay, that could be it. Anyway. But she made up her own moves because she's an icon. Yeah. It's so iconic. Bacon is trending. People aren't buying bacon buying bacon yeah i was reading this shit people are just uh bacon sales are down a little bit not like it's it's completely dangerous but like the prices have been the lowest since 1999 um that's down 93 cents per pound from just two weeks ago but it's because the eggs and beef are booming right now okay people know what i guess know how to cook positively
Starting point is 00:07:33 booming right now you love to see it but the bacon the pork bellies those pork belly futures not looking too good i guess uh people aren't i I don't know. I feel like I've been buying bacon because that's like a comfort food. Yeah, I'm surprised that that's... It's really strange what we've decided to hoard and what we've decided to leave on the shelves. Vegetarian food, I think, makes a little bit of sense because it doesn't necessarily, at least in your mind, stick to the ribs. But bacon definitely is one of those foods that you would expect people to kind of be all about. Yeah. Also, shout out to all the Zeitgang who came correct in our mentions
Starting point is 00:08:16 to come to the defense of chocolate hummus. We were talking on Thing Monday's show. We're like, what the fuck is this chocolate hummus? People were like, don't try it. The strength of the chocolate hummus community is uh remarkable yeah i hope somebody at one point stands me the way that fans of chocolate hummus stand chocolate they say it tastes like brownie butter they say it's like good with pretzels yeah so apparently uh bacon not good during the quarantine but chocolate hummus you shut your mouth you shut your stupid fucking mouth you podcast how did we bring up chocolate
Starting point is 00:08:54 hummus was that it was like the one thing that was still on the shelf yeah yeah it was chilling on shelves and then we were just kind of overall turned off by them like chocolate chickpeas but then people were like, nope. You think it's bad. You think it's bad until you try it. So producer Ana Hosnia pointed out that chocolate hummus is tragic appropriation. It's like deliciously tragic. It's cursed, but delicious.
Starting point is 00:09:22 It's like calling a Hershey syrup chocolate spaghetti sauce or something. I don't know. Just trying to come up with an ethnic food you could completely bastardize and be like, no, this is the chocolate version. It's just a totally different thing. Maybe you do like chicken mole,
Starting point is 00:09:37 but you use fucking Hershey syrup. Oh my, no. No, no, no, no, no. Don't do that. And finally, Taco Bell is trending. They are offering today, right now, on the 31st, a free Doritos Locos Tacos. I think it's select locations. I think you need to figure out if it's participating locations.
Starting point is 00:10:04 So don't just drive to your local Taco Bell and expect that they're on it. But people were asking the question, like some people are shaming them for doing this during the social distancing. Right. And that raised a question like, are we clear to go through drive-thrus right now? From what I understand right like it's i mean we're able to go through grocery stores because you know that's just a necessity it would seem like drive-thrus would be similar a similar situation yeah i mean unless like i don't know i mean i think at the end of the day if you can stay home and cut down on unnecessary interactions
Starting point is 00:10:44 then like that's probably the best thing to do. But yeah, I mean, a lot of people are saying like, you know, if you do like try and wear gloves, wash your hands, don't use cash, like don't exchange cash. Bring your own pen if you got to sign it or like a stylus or pointing sticks. You don't have to touch any of like the payment equipment. Yeah. But yeah, I think, you know. Be kind to the people working there and say an extra thank you to them tip them if he can yeah exactly and like yeah that's a good point
Starting point is 00:11:12 like a single trip to the grocery store every couple weeks or once a week is different than going out to the drive-thru every for every meal yeah you're definitely exposing yourself try and get those uh taco bell hot sauces those hot sauces you know you could you can turn up a very boring skillet of turkey ground turkey into what is nearly a healthy taco bell alternative option i found i've been using a lot of i keep all my taco bell packets so i have like a i mean i'm running low but i use them to season things to bring that Taco Bell flavor home. All right, guys. That's what's trending on this final day of March, the longest March in the history of human existence.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Seriously. It's been a pleasure weathering it with you guys. We will be back tomorrow for the first podcast of April, and we will talk to you then. Bye. Bye. Bye.
