Starting point is 00:02:10 Presented by Capital One, founding partner of iHeart Women's Sports. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of the short one that we do with the trends in the afternoon. Oh, yeah. But what's that uh darling you know we already did darling you dude you're at the beach dude sick ass trend getting sent all right whatever we're trying uh i'm jack. You are Miles. Yep. And, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Okay. I was trying to come up with something. Didn't really work. I was going to say and send like you would on an email, but... Can we do Trendry Baratheon? No. Yeah, I think we did. Yeah, Super Producer Brian just informed us we did.
Starting point is 00:03:06 All right. Well, you know, it's the best we can do. Zite Year. The new Buzz Zite Year trailer. There it is. And we're back. I know we haven't done that. We might have done Buzz Zite Year, but not the new Buzz Zite Year trailer.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Brian. Thank you. Trender. Trender. Zite Year Trender. That Zite Year Trender. might have done buzz zeitgear but not the new buzz zeitgear trailer brian thank you trender true trender zeitgear trender that zeitgear trender uh let's start off with that uh which light year it's about buzz light year not the toy but the real person that the toy was based on and it is a pixar story in the in the universe of toy story it is a pix based on and it is a Pixar story. In the universe of Toy Story, it is a Pixar movie. And it raises an immediate question for me that I'm sure other people are asking and has been answered. But they're going to have to do something to make this a little bit clearer. The trailer takes place in the future, in a distant future, where we're just firing up what looks like fighter jets into space and warping around the sun and shit.
Starting point is 00:04:12 So does Toy Story take place in the future? Oh, right, because we're so technologically advanced from what we're seeing? Yeah, this is too techn for uh to be in a past time so yeah what's happening here i don't know what do they know that we don't i mean the trailer looked kind of cool i was i was surprised i maybe because i just really liked toy story that i'm willing to be like oh buzz lightyear this look is cool. He flew to the sun, maybe. It looks like it could be funny-ish. Is it supposed to be funny?
Starting point is 00:04:52 Not funny. I mean like fun. It seemed like it was like a Pixar movie that was like a serious, moody meditation on what it means to be Buzz Lightyear. We ask this serious question, what it means to be Lightyear. It has kind of a Starman moody, interstellar thing going on. Cosmic gumbo, if you will.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Real cosmic gumbo. Anyways, I will probably see it. i have been very wrong about toy story trailers not that this is toy story but uh i thought toy story 4 looked unnecessary and a little bit like a cash grab and it was the best toy story in my opinion oh i still haven't seen it oh man you gotta see toy story 4 it's my favorite man better than 3 when they almost die it is and toy story 3 was the best toy story yeah that also they done done it again okay they did it again maybe i will maybe i will check it out shiba inu coin is trending uh this is a coin that we talked about on today's episode with aj delario because he's he's in uh he's shiba inu to the moon why is it the the number
Starting point is 00:06:08 one trending thing because because it's been just shooting up in value um and by that i mean like it's still like at seven hundredths of a thousand of a cent but it's on a trajectory and i think a lot of things the the main reason too because like it i guess it surpassed dogecoin by market cap uh if that matters to you but a lot of people have been supporting all that matters to me a lot of people have been petitioning like robin hood to list it um to begin trading it on robin hood and shit like that so for you know it's it's just funny like crypto is such a huge part of internet culture like the second anything happens, it's the highest trending thing on the internet now. Right.
Starting point is 00:06:47 And you're like, the thing that was meant to be a meme of Dogecoin, which is a meme of Bitcoin. Great. I mean, when I Googled Shiba Inu, when we talked to AJ, all I got was a bunch of results about the uh breed of hunting dog and today all i got was the coin so you know yeah we're flying baby we're erasing the wonderful breed of dog in japan ah beautiful dogs i mean i think we're turning into a space show with the light year trailer and now uh this one going to the moon um so welcome to mad money with jack o'brien and let me say it in the buttons oh seven six five four i think we're safe to say folks two one ignition yep this one's going to the moon sending it i mean that sounds pretty fucking good that sounds like maybe it'd be better than our show that's like a stupid i mean that's like an amazing parody podcast is total chaos crypto show yeah total chaos crypto
Starting point is 00:07:58 maybe we'll do uh we'll do an episode if we get enough requests that'll be uh one of our holiday episodes that we do is uh total chaos crypto just piss off anyone who cares about crypto because they're so ignorant it's just like our version of what we think you're talking about i'm in oh this one's getting three aldrins man because it's going to the moon. Hell yeah. Tiger King 2 is trending. Another trailer. Yeah, another trailer. When I heard a Tiger King trailer was out, I had visions of Nicolas Cage dancing in my head.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Apparently, this trailer, it's like, oh, you haven't even... The promise is like, we haven't even scratched the surface. the promise is like we haven't even scratched the surface and like while they talk a little bit more about uh homegirl's husband that died um carol baskin and things like that there just seems like there's just a little bit more texture i i i guess maybe there is some new stuff but i don't know like this is the thing we were talking about when we heard about the second season like is it did we are we gonna have the same you know uh attention span for tiger king 2 that we did like at the beginning of the pandemic and at this point have we gotten like just the weird stuff that people cared about out of the first season i don't know right i mean if they just went deep on doc antley, like that, that would be the, the version that I would watch.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Right. Yeah. One Philip, I feel like there needs to be a real, uh, uh, criminal deep dive into that operation over there. And by went deep on him,
Starting point is 00:09:38 uh, like got him convicted of all the crimes he's committed. Um, but anyways, it's, uh, it's common. People will be talking about it and I will be listening to them and not
Starting point is 00:09:49 watching it myself would be my guess. All right, let's take a quick break and we'll be right back. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. Starting point is 00:10:34 This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. Listen to In Our own world as a part of the my cultura podcast network available on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts and don't worry we promise to avoid any black holes most of the time and we're back uh and the nypd is trending because new york's top cop the police commish uh is saying that uh his his officers uh better get that jab before you you may notice that i uh read this on the drudge report because I'm using all the bullshit news things. The jab. Top Cop argues get jabbed before Friday.
Starting point is 00:14:34 Jab or job. Yeah, A. I mean, you said it. That's basically what he said. If you don't get the shot before Friday, I'm going to have to send a quarter of the police force home. So not great adoption thus far from the NYPD. A quarter?
Starting point is 00:14:52 Wow. And then they'll be forced to leave their boots on the steps of City Hall. Someone take these boots and take them to a mutual aid operation. That was so haunting. That was so haunting to see those fallen heroes. But in one of the cities, though though the second they put them down these activists took the boots and took them to like donate they're like yeah thanks then we'll give them to people who need shoes so haunting just so
Starting point is 00:15:17 haunting to see five pairs of shoes on the steps yeah and these these fallen heroes as in fallen for facebook memes uh i keep on falling for these facebook memes drew barrymore is trending uh because she reunited on her show after two decades with one tom green tom green show um do you remember when they got married in the year 2000 i i mean i thought it was great news thought it was yesterday wait i thought they were still together this is this is uh actually sad news for me because spoiler alert yeah it's bittersweet story here but yeah they apparently so they spoke once like last september i guess he was like a virtual guest on the show um and at that point in september of last year it had been 15 years since they spoke wow which i don't know why i'm like what but that was your ex-husband like i don't expect them to keep up with each
Starting point is 00:16:24 other but apparently this uh appearance was them having like i don't expect them to keep up with each other but apparently this uh appearance was them having like a really they were just really kind of talking about their relationship and drew's like i respect you and love you he's like i love you too and i love you so much i didn't talk to you for 15 years and only talked to you on a tv show right she said quote when you say it's 20 years sometimes it's the blink of an eye and sometimes you're like oh my god we've lived so much in these last 20 years you've had a whole life and i've had a whole life and it's just really nice to come together and check in and talk about it i think the world of you i celebrate you and i always have and i always will daddy would you like some sausage
Starting point is 00:16:58 daddy would you like some sausage sausage that show god it where's my dinner statue uh that he made yeah that the fucking hood of the car with like the sex scene on it the just the the microphone with the poop on it yeah uh one of the greats learning how to completely just upend social norms but laugh about it yeah i it's it's still strange to me that drew barrymore has a daytime talk show yeah i don't know it's just she's not here i'm sure people have kind of gotten over that a long time ago since she's had it for probably years now okay a year a couple years maybe i remember in the beginning people were like make they're like yo this show is fucking out there like it just feels like a fever dream because like she's not like at the i remember early on people were like she's not like the
Starting point is 00:17:54 most natural sort of daytime host but she also has like an energy that like even when she's doing bad scripted jokes like they kind of are funny because there there's like a self-awareness in the studio that it was really bad yeah she has like a supernatural like cuteness like energy that i don't know just cannot be suppressed that's drew barrymore yeah but yeah i haven't i haven't seen like a show aside from like when people are writing it up and like, this thing is surreal, but I mean, I get it, but she's got, uh,
Starting point is 00:18:28 she holds a very significant place in popular culture for many people. Uh, well, I talked about how I took my, uh, five-year-old to see ET at the, the new Bev Quentin Tarantino's theater. Um,
Starting point is 00:18:41 and Drew Barrymore, uh, popped off the screen more than anybody else and she was fucking four in the movie uh and had like the biggest laugh lines like of the that the crowd responded to the most um was pretty pretty impressive it was right then that i knew that kid's gonna be a star yeah wasn't she like yo i was like on coke when i was like 12 years old and you're like oh my god yeah yeah i mean i'm telling man the child acting shit is destroy you yeah uh and finally frederic arnold is trending this is uh the third richest man in the world's son um and i think he's trending
Starting point is 00:19:27 because people are looking for that real succession um that real world succession he is currently uh this is a 26 year old he is the chief executive of tag hewer so i mean that's impressive i mean how do you become a ceo at 26 yeah that must have worked so hard wait who's your dad bernard arnold maybe that has something to do with it um but people are saying he's a rising star in the world of uh i don't know really rich people um well i mean that dude the that lv mh or whatever empire that bernard arnold sees is like like fucking anything that's rich people use like hennessy louis vuitton your fucking like any like a lot of these luxury brands and i remember that recently right he shot up in those like wealth rankings
Starting point is 00:20:25 because of like the because rich people got more money they started buying a ton of luxury goods and then suddenly bernard old bernard bernie number three as i call him bernie aren't aren't out yeah yeah bernie arnold but i mean he's right up there with bezos and uh elon like yeah literally he's right after that yeah he's third he's right he's right there right there he's right there come on let his 26 year old kid be a ceo of a luxury watch brand come on now um he's the newest power player in luxury's first family um it's wild that that's a real news story that people are paying attention to anyways uh that's why i thought i'd share it with you yeah we love uh god we're already we're salivating over billionaires again what the fuck hell yeah but he's 26 26 billionaire come on and
Starting point is 00:21:21 he had a youtube channel where he showed off his exotic pokemon cards he's a man of the people it's just such a it really seems like a headline from a bad movie about a rich person uh the newest power player and luxury's first family and then there's a picture of him with his arms folded with a look off to the side it says like yeah i could care less about being critical about my position in the world yeah good for him uh all right those are the stories that are trending on this wednesday afternoon we are back tomorrow with all last episode of the show until then be kind to each other be kind to yourselves get the vaccine don't do nothing about white supremacy we'll talk to y'all tomorrow. Bye. Bye.
