And I'm like, they have no evidence. You're going to stick your kid in a mask, right? Just to be clear. A mask so he can breathe in his own carbon dioxide and all the pathogens that develop in this moist, nasty, humid Florida weather. That's what happens at the end of the summer. It's hot down here. You're going to let your kid for

eight hours breathe this in despite zero evidence whatsoever it'll put an end to this pandemic. You have no evidence it'll do that. It may have a minor, minor impact on some active transmitter. He's coughing or sneezing but he shouldn't be in school anyway, he or she.

And you want to stick your kid in a mask all day because someone told you to. And I'm coming upstairs. I walk upstairs into the office. I'm like, what kind of parents are you? I've discussed it before on the show because I love economics and I'm fascinated by by it but the reason 10 prison guards can control 2 000 prisoners sometimes is because it's hard the human condition makes it hard to coordinate it's called the prisoner's dilemma it's not a moral judgment it's an economics problem the prisoner analogy why you know because the prisoners they're just they can't coordinate one guy says hey we're going to break out of the prison tomorrow.

You got to trust that the other guy is going to do it. Because if you're the only one charging the gate and there's 10 guards, then it's 10 to 1. Even though it's 2,000, 10,000, 15,000 prisoners. You get it? You have to trust that the other guy is going to follow through. And most people don't trust the other guy to follow through. Reminds me of when I was a student at Archbishop Malloy High School in Queens. It's a great school. I was a student there. I remember they wanted to organize a student walkout and everybody's like, yeah, yeah, man, we're going to do it. Whatever.

One o'clock, we're all walking out. Everybody's like, yeah, we're going to do it. Nobody did. Literally not one person did it. It's amazing. 400 students all agreed they were going to, not one did it because the coordination problem. Nobody trusted the other one, so everybody was looking around to see who would move first. Nobody moved, so everybody just went to class. You may say, well, what's the problem with civil disobedience? Why even recommend that they do it under the mask thing?

Because, folks, the prisoner's dilemma is overcomable through repeated trials. After a while, you figure out who you can trust and who you can't. out who you can trust and who you can't. The parents you can trust and who you can't. The parents who will follow through and not mask their kids. And eventually, once that trust is built, you can overcome the prisoner's dilemma and you can engage in collective action.
