a new Hillsdale College mini-series on Colonial America,
offers a fresh way to think about Thanksgiving. Beyond the food and the political debates,
it reminds us what we should truly be thankful for, our freedom, our prosperity, and our faith.
And in a brand new six-part documentary series, Hillsdale College professors will teach you
about the religious, political, cultural, and economic ideas that shaped a uniquely American
culture during the colonial period. You will learn why the idea of religious liberty
inspired the settlers of America to cross the Atlantic, how Americans organize local governments,
and why America has always been a land where virtue can lead to peace and prosperity.
This Hillsdale College miniseries is completely free, and it is easy to access.
Plus, Hillsdale offers more than 40 other free online courses, including a course on C.S. Lewis,
the stories on the book of Genesis and the rise and fall of the Roman Republic, also ancient Rome,
ancient Greece, so many amazing series that they have there for you. So definitely go check it out.
I absolutely love it. I love to just brush up on some of the things that, you know,
we might have learned in middle school and high school and college, and it's been a while.
And it's good to brush up. It's good to know what's going on. And stay in tune with history
because it all comes back to all of the news and politics that we cover today. That is why it's so
important. So you should sign up, take a course, go right now to Hillsdale.edu slash Vince to enroll.

All right. Let's get into the show. Uh, the government shutdown. All right. Eight Democrat
senators voted to side with Republicans last night to pass a continuing resolution or a minibus bill,
which means the government should be reopened later in the week. Speaker of Mike Johnson thinks that he should have the House voting on Wednesday. So maybe by the end of the week we'll have an open government. Imagine that. It's been 40 freaking days. And the 60-40 vote last night supported a package that will fund multiple agencies and programs for the fiscal year and then all the other ones until January 30th of 2026. So in exchange, Democrats have a commitment.
the Trump administration is they have said they're going to rehire all those government workers that were fired at the beginning of all of this. And there will be a Senate vote in December on legislation to extend that expiring Obamacare tax credit. And here are the Democrats that we have to thank. Senator Catherine Cortez Mastow of Nevada. Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois. Senator John Federman of Pennsylvania. Senator Maggie Hassan of
New Hampshire, Tim Kane of Virginia, Angus King of Maine, Jackie Rose in Nevada, and Gene
Shaheen of New Hampshire. Now, it is interesting to note that none of these Democrats are up for
re-election in 2026. So they really had nothing to lose. They said, we'll just go out. Why not?
I'll side with the Republicans. I'll get the government to reopen. So there you go. When you have
nothing to lose, you come to the table. But let's start off the show on a heartwarming note.
So President Trump was in attendance at Northwest Stadium yesterday when the commanders were crushed
by the Lions. And Donald Trump, you know, he became the first sitting president to attend a
regular season NFL game since Jimmy Carter back in the late 70s. It was 78. So in the third
quarter, Trump even appeared on the Fox broadcast. He was answering questions about when he played
football. And here was a very sweet moment with a Washington fan. Watch this.
USA chance. Here's President Trump. He's motioning for a young fan to come over. And he's giving him
a presidential challenge coin. He said thank you. I mean, what an amazing opportunity for
that little boy. He probably doesn't even know how cool it is to have a presidential challenge coin. But
he will remember it for the rest of his life, which is very, very cool. And President Trump
has also reportedly made it known that he would like the commander's new stadium that's being
built on the old RFK stadium site to be named after him. Maybe it would be, you know, the Donald
J. Trump Stadium or the Trump Stadium. And as we know, our guy, he loves to put his name on
buildings. He loves to build stuff and put his name on the side. So I think it would be pretty cool.
ESPN asked White House press secretary Caroline Levitt about it.
And she didn't really give that many details, but she said it would be a great name.
So it wasn't a confirmation that these talks were going on, but some sources are saying
that, you know, President Trump is really, he's itching for this.
He wants his name on the side of the commander's new stadium, which I think would totally
blow the heads off these liberals.
And maybe that's why some of these commanders fans were upset about President Trump being
in attendance last night.
Maybe they're upset because President Trump sent in the National Guard to clean up the city.
And this is how they repay him.
Here are Washington Commander's fans booing the president, even as he honors military members.
Watch.
I have seen your name.
I hear those booze.
You solemnly swear.
And I will support any fans.
the Constitution of the United States.
That was POTUS reading out the military oath of enlistment to swear in new troops.
He was alongside Secretary of War Pete Heggseth.
And you could hear those booze there during that.
It's so rude.
And it just goes to show that liberals don't just hate Trump.
They hate the country.
If you can disrespect the troops are badass servicemen and women on football Sunday right before
Veterans Day, and you can't put your trumped arrangement and hatred aside for the men and women who
had sacrificed their lives for your freedom to boo the president, by the way, then you hate this
country. They are lucky to live in a country that actually protects speech and actually protects their
right to be disrespectful a-holes. Danny DeVito, he sat down with Larry King, who asked him how he felt
about President Trump, and wouldn't you know everything is Trump's fault? Watch this.
I gather you're not a fan of the president.
not a fan of the president. I just think that, you know, the whole idea of, you know, what we're
supposed to do is bring people together. We're not supposed to separate people. We're supposed
to be a strong country. Look, we've already walking on the boards of genocide. We've taken
the land away from the Native Americans. We put them in prisons. We've imported, we brought
African Americans into the country. We put them in jails. And we put them in jails. And we put
them in in ghettos and we and we bring drugs into the country and we do all these things get
shameful that's not what the sapiens are supposed to be doing we're supposed to be making life a
better like the world a better place for each other what what is he talking about genocide there's
genocide happening in this country who what where I swear the left lives in an alternate reality
And I guess if you do truly believe that criminals don't belong in jail,
like these are the things that, you know,
Zora Mnodani is running on or ran on in New York City and won on,
that, you know, if you break the law, it's no biggie.
You know, we'll send a health care worker, a social worker over if you have a problem.
I mean, this is how the left really believes, like criminals don't need to be held accountable.
They don't need to go to jail.
And that they firmly believe that illegal immigration isn't breaking the law.
law. So I guess if you do believe those things and you live in that reality, then by those
standards, I guess the Trump administration is just throwing innocent people in detention
centers and deporting them for no reason. But you'd have to do a lot of mental gymnastics that
are devoid of reality to make that make sense. And then he seems to blame the fact that we're on
stolen land on President Trump. It's President Trump's fault. Also slavery, President Trump's fault.
he talked about drugs coming into this country.
How is that President Trump's fault?
The border was open under the last guy, not this guy.
You know, all of these issues he's talking about, the slavery, the stolen land.
This is all way before Trump's time.
But of course, it's still Trump's fault.
But that's okay.
Facts don't matter.
Don't let the facts get in the way of a good podcast clip, of course.
And here is late night host, soon to be former late night host in May, Stephen Colbert.
He is saying that, well, this is what he has to say about late night as a whole.
What the meaning of late night is.
Watch this.
I'm curious what you feel like the great affirmative cases for a show like yours.
Why should shows like mine continue to exist or like Kimmel or Jimmy or wherever?
And I said everyone plays a great affection, which is why I said why?
Oh, we're like your friend who at the end of the day paid attention to the news more than you did.
And you're aware of it.
You just didn't do the detail work that we did.
And then we curate that back to you at the end of the day.
But it's really more about how we feel about her.
I, as the person who is the vehicle for that,
how we felt about today, all those things that might have made you confused
or angry or anxious or happy or surprise or something like that.
I feel that way at the camera, or to the audience, really.
What?
he's literally saying that he pays attention more to the news than any of you, any of us.
So all of us stupid people, we need to tune in to late night hosts to hear what they think about the news.
Who made them an expert?
And don't you think it's strange that he's asked about late night and he didn't even mention being funny or telling jokes?
That should be the first thing that comes to mind when you talk about doing your job as a late night
host, hey, I like to have fun. I like to connect with my audience. I like to be funny. I like to tell
jokes. I like to interview celebrities. You know, I get that they have to wrap in culturally
relevant news and politically relevant news stories into their bits. But late night hosts have
never been and never will be this moral and informational compass for the country and for all of us.
They're supposed to make us laugh. And none of them are doing that anymore. And therefore,
They're being canned because if you want to watch the news, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel
are the last people you're going to.
They're just the last people I'm going to.
There are other news organizations and obviously people in the new media that people go
to for their news.
They're not going to late night for news.
But here is Jimmy Kimmel's wife saying that a vote for President Trump is a vote against
her husband.
What?
Watch this.
It's weird.
When Donald Trump was first elected, I was so upset. We all were. But I remember thinking, I understand it because I grew up in a very conservative Republican house. I mean, I bought my dad a Rush Limbaatai in high school. I voted Republican straight ticket. And that's what I was told to do. And then I left St. Louis, Missouri. And I met people from different backgrounds. And I started to understand different things and different needs and different.
people and there's so there's like a little bit of sympathy I have for people in my
family that I feel are kind of being deliberately misinformed every day and they've
not kind of yeah that they're deliberately being misinformed every day and they
believe it but it hurts me so much because of the personal relationship I now
have where my husband is out there fighting this man and to me them voting for
Trump is them not voting for my husband and me and our family.
And I unfortunately have kind of lost relationships with people and my family because of it.
Oh my gosh.
Someone in the chat said, what a pretentious POS.
And it is pretentious.
It just comes off so rude.
Like they're morally superior.
And we had to educate people in our lives.
We had to bring them over to the right side.
F you guys.
You know, then she says, you know, we had to.
I started to understand different people.
I got out of my, you know, conservative bubble.
And this is fascinating to me that liberals vote on behalf of other people.
I think voting is one of the times in life where you truly have free reign to be as selfish as humanly possible.
You get one vote, right?
If all things are going right in this world, you get one vote.
Why would you vote for the interests of someone?
It's not your interest.
Why would you vote on behalf of other groups that aren't yours?
That doesn't make sense to me.
Vote for what you care about.
Anyway, then she talks about in this clip, you know, she grew up in this conservative Christian household.
She bought her dad a Rush Limbaat Thai.
And she's saying that, you know, with these government shutdowns, she was talking about how it's just horrible that all these Christian people are doing nothing.
and, you know, Christian values are about taking care of the sick and taking care of the poor.
And she claims that Republicans don't do that.
The Republican Party doesn't stand for any of that.
And my question to her, Mrs. Kimmel, is, why don't you do that then?
Why do liberals look at the government to take care of people?
This is a massively rich woman looking at the government to feed people when she could feed people.
And she's looking down at Republicans when statistically Republicans are more charitable than
liberals are. And certainly they go to church or another place of worship more frequently where they can
get involved. But by white, rich, liberal women taking this stance, they say, you know, I'm voting
liberal or voting against Trump. This is like the morally superior stance. Like, see, we voted on behalf
of all the dumb, poor people. You're welcome. That's that pretentious attitude that I hate.
Then she says that Jimmy Kimmel is fighting Trump every day. Fighting Trump every day. Fighting Trump
on his show. Again, you have to ask yourself, why is it that late night hosts think that's
what their job is? Late night is actually one of the jobs where if you wanted to tune out
politics completely, you could and it would be encouraged. Because when the American people
work multiple jobs to make ends meet, they're living paycheck to paycheck, they're inundated
with bad news all day long, sometimes people want an escape. And laughing at late night hosts used
to be that escape. It used to be funny skits and fun interviews with your favorite celebrity.
And now people hate Hollywood because it's no longer a sit down with your favorite artists or
actor as they promote their new project. It's these rich people lecturing the American people
about politics. Politics is interjected everywhere. There's no escape anymore. And then these
late night hosts wonder why people are turning their shows off. You used to be the lifeline for people.
you were the life raft when everything is going to shit in someone's real life they get to turn on the TV at the end of the night and relax with their family and laugh and let off some steam and now everyone's just miserable all the time who wants to watch that anyway SNL you know like i say this a broken clock is right twice a day SNL is starting to wake up like sometimes not often but sometimes they're a little funny and i don't even think that this skit is that funny but they are maybe waking up
up to the lunacy of this transgender ideology.
Watch this.
This is pretty serious.
Okay, I got an email from the Greek Life Advisor,
and apparently another sorority just learned
one of their pledges was actually a frat guy
and a hyper-realistic girl mask.
Is that what?
Oh, my God, that's so weird.
Yeah, that is so weird.
I know.
Well, they asked us to just stay.
Okay, so I'm just asking you, if you see anything, just say something, okay?
Um, so I don't want to, like, call someone out or whatever, but I think someone in our sorority might be a frat guy in a hyper-realistic mask.
What?
What?
What?
What?
I think it's Alyssa.
It's so gross.
Wait, me?
Are you crazy?
So mean.
Shame on you, Maddie.
That's messed up.
Yeah.
What the hell, Maddie? Have some respect for your sister.
Who's the serial killer that wears the skin of his victims?
Who is that? I don't know who that is. Ted Bundy? Did he do that? I don't think so.
Wasn't there just a Netflix show on it? Is it Ed Gein? Is that his name? Anyway, that's what that reminded me of.
This man and a woman skin suit, which is horrifying. And I, you know, I'm glad that S&N,
is at least touching on this subject because obviously this is just them poking fun,
but it is a very real and frightening trend of men identifying as women to get away with
entering women's spaces.
And the more that they can soft launch this to the liberals who watch SNL, the better.
Because you have to frame it as like a women's rights issue.
Like all these sorority women are going to feel uncomfortable.
But of course, in this clip, you know, the white liberal women, they just eat their own.
Like, you know, everyone be on the lookout for this trans person.
that might be infiltrating sororities
and then someone says something
and they all attack her.
But, you know, liberal women
would probably sooner fight
for trans men to get abortions
than they would to protect women
in bathrooms from people like this dude
in Georgia.
Watch this.
Restroom, a women's restroom
like I have been for months,
if not years, never had any issues.
Sarah Swinson is a regular
at the Tucker Reed Cofer Library.
She says after she used the ladies room
on October 20th, a DeKalb police officer on hand for early voting confronted her.
He says, excuse me, sir, so misgendering me right away.
You're not a woman.
That's obvious.
Swinson says she tried explaining to the officer that she's a transgender woman, but he got anglingled.
This is a police matter.
There are women and little girls in there, and I have to protect them.
She says it ended up causing a scene in the middle of the library, and she tried to de-escalate.
Finally, I just nodded.
you know, and he walked off and I was very thankful.
The next day, she emailed library staff,
who she says reached out to DeKalb County Police.
The library filed the complaint on my behalf.
There aren't any Georgia laws.
The library filed by complaint from using bathrooms aligning with her gender identity.
DeKalp.D. says its internal affairs unit is actively investigating the incident.
Okay, I'm sorry.
This is so disturbing.
It's a man wearing,
not even women's clothing, but I do think it's very ironic that he thinks he's dressing
as a woman. And, you know, anyone with a brain thinks that this is a man wearing a costume
of a woman. And he is literally wearing like costume beads, like Marty Grau beads. It's not even real
jewelry. It's like quite literally a costume. It's quite literally a female costume. And, you know,
he's not even trying to really look like a woman. And, you know, he's not even trying to really look like a
woman. It's a dude with lipstick and nail polish. That does not make you a woman. If I didn't have
nail polish on or lipstick, I would still be a woman. But that's all they got, right? And it's not just
entering women's bathrooms and locker rooms. This next guy may just have been using women's
clothing as a disguise while he steals packages. Watch this. So this is a cross-dressing porch pirate. That's
what we're calling it. And this dude is smoking a sig. He's in a dress. He's in a headband.
He's got some long hair going. But not a very beautiful woman. I'll say that.
Now he's going to go steal this package. Look, it's just a, it's just a woman. Don't be hard on, don't be
hard on her. Don't be hard on her. It's a woman. Give her special.
treatment. I mean, this is just absurd. This is what I mean by their, this is a costume for them. It is a
costume. They are dressing up as women as a costume. They don't believe that they're women.
They know that this is a farce, but they wear their costume to steal packages or go into the locker
room. They're sick. They're little sick individuals. But I think I have an idea as to why liberal men are
transitioning to women. It is because their own party hates them. The left has turned the
straight white male into an enemy that doesn't deserve respect. Watch Anna Navarro on CNN totally
disrespect her white straight man on the panel. Watch this. Also, I want to respond to you saying
that I was hyperbolic when I talked about a reign of terror.
No, it might be hyperbolic for you.
as a white man oh it's certainly not hyperbolic for me as a latino no i'm not being racist it's
incredible to dismiss my opinion for being a way no i'm not dismissing your opinion i am telling you
that what latino the latino community the brown community in america okay well let me speak with my
voice and you said i was being hyperbolic let me respond i'm not you being a white man as an insult
when you invoke it to dismiss my being a white man as an insult when you invoke it i use i do you think
Do you think Latinos are living under circumstances that other people may not be right now?
Let me speak. Let me speak. Let me speak. That's like all what liberal women say. Let me speak. Let me speak. I'm speaking. Let me speak. And of course, if a liberal woman has to speak, then she trumps everybody else. Certainly white men. But what they're arguing about doesn't even have to do anything with race. It has to do with documentation status. Republicans don't care what color you are or where you came from. As long as you come into this country with,
respect for our laws and assimilate into the culture, Anna Navarro says that the Trump administration
is responsible for this reign of terror.
Reign of terror for enforcing the laws?
And of course, it's the white man that can't have an opinion on that because he's white.
It's a total cop-out.
If you bring facts and reality to the conversation, their response is to shut you down by
bringing up your race.
And if you're white, you're automatically wrong.
And they have the same stance, too, when it comes to abortion.
If you're a man and you don't have a uterus and you don't have a uterus and you don't have
an opinion. Unless, of course, you wear a dress and you say you're a woman, then you're
top of the totem bowl again. Quickly, I want to tell you one more story before we get into my guest,
Madison Cothorn, which I'm super excited about. California gubernatorial candidate, Katie Porter,
she is best known now for being a nasty woman. That's really all she's known for, just snapping at
her staffers. She's just a nasty woman. We haven't heard that in a while, right? Hillary Clinton ran on
a nasty woman. And now we've got another one. Didn't work for Hillary Clinton. Didn't work for
Kamala Harris. It's not going to work for Katie Porter. People don't like, well, can I say the word?
I don't know. I'm not going to curse. But anyway, people don't like mean girls. But anyway, Katie
Porter, she called on the Trump administration to cancel private jet flights and prioritize commercial
flights amid the shutdown. Watch this.
Here's a question for Donald Trump, as he forces airlines to cancel thousands and thousands of flights.
Why is he starting first with the commercial planes that we all use to go visit our families or get where we need to for work?
Every day, thousands of private jets take off carrying CEOs, billionaires, and the 1%.
And they take up the work of the air traffic control system too.
Wouldn't it make more sense to cancel the planes that carry the fewest passengers?
passengers first. It's just another example of who Donald Trump really cares about. And it isn't
us. Yeah, she's losing in the polls, by the way. That's how unlikable Katie Porter is.
But I will say what she is suggesting is already being done by the Trump administration.
Here is Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy setting the record straight. Watch.
Katie Porter is a hack. That's not what happened in the order we reduced general aviation or jet
travel by 10%. But what we've also done is that, you know, if we have a staffing
I think Nate was at LaGuardia or in Newark.
We have one in Newark this morning.
If we have a staffing trigger,
there's going to be no jets flying into Newark.
We're going to, we prioritize commercial aircraft.
Now, if there's a space to fly in with general aviation or a jet,
we'll allow them in.
But the priority is the traveling public.
And so that's been the order.
That's been how this has been implemented.
So it's nice political theater, but that's not what we're doing.
Isn't that funny?
she says Trump doesn't care about us.
This doesn't, by, you know,
she claims that the Trump administration
isn't canceling private jets.
They're not prioritizing commercial jets.
And she says, because of that,
the Trump administration doesn't care.
Then what she suggested,
the Trump administration is already doing,
so therefore Katie Porter loves Trump.

And without further ado, my next guest represented North Carolina's 11th district until 2022.
Now he's throwing his hat into the ring.
Florida's 19th, Madison Cawthorn. Welcome to Vince. It's great to be on, Haley. Thank you for having me.
Thank you so much. I'm so excited to chitchat with you. First, I want to get to this government
shutdown. You know, Democrats blame Republicans. Republicans blame Democrats. Last night we saw
the Democrats finally, you know, eight of them finally come over to the right side of the aisle.
What's your take on this? Do you think it's going to pass in the House? How long do you think
this is going to last? When do the lights turn back on? So I do think it would be able to go through in the
House, but, you know, just because we passed the bill in the Senate last night, doesn't mean
instantly it'll make it so that it can go through. Once you pass the bill through the House,
because the House sent over a clean CR, so now the Senate's passed it, it instantly triggers a
30-hour debate period. Now, the Democrats could be able to waive this if they wanted to,
but the Democrats, although they want to pitch this as if it's Donald Trump's fault over and
over and over again, it's just because they don't have, I don't think they've ever taken
a civics class. They don't understand that it takes 60 votes to be able to pass.
a budget bill through the Senate.
And so we only have 53 seats.
We're incapable of being able to pass this on her own.
And the reason that this had even happened in the first place
is because Chuck Schumer is a coward.
Chuck Schumer knows that if he was to do this,
AOC is going to be attacking him very hard,
trying to take a Senate seat,
and she's going to say, look, he is aiding and abetting Donald Trump,
even though that sounds great to me.
Donald Trump is saving our country, saving our republic.
But Chuck Schumer is afraid of what would happen
if he wasn't to shut the government down.
And then they wanted to be able to pitch this as if it's Donald Trump's fault.
But the poll numbers don't lie.
You can see that everyone's blaming the Democrats for this.
Donald Trump's poll members are actually going up.
And while Chuck Schumer is just walking around the Capitol with basically zero staff anywhere in Washington, D.C., he's having to say, well, look what Donald Trump's doing, but everyone knows that it's his fault.
Meanwhile, President Trump's flying all across the world, bringing peace to the entire planet.
He is making sure that Americans are being put first, that our needs and our necessities are being taken care of.
And so this shutdown, although I think that Chuck Schumer was doing it so that he'd avoid a primary against AOC,
I think what this is really showing is that the Democrats have lost the plot.
They absolutely have no plan.
The only thing they know how to do is hate Trump and get Trump.
That's their only attack strategy.
But as we saw, the Republicans won the popular vote for the first time in decades.
And so this is not a great strategy that's going to carry them through through the primaries
and through going into what's going to be the midterms.
And now I know that we had a couple losses.
in Virginia, New Jersey, and in New York City.
But I don't think that's going to be reminiscent of what's going to happen in the midterms.
Americans all across this country are very happy with the job President Trump's doing.
And now that they realize the Democrats don't care about them at all, they're simply trying to
destroy the government to make Donald Trump look bad.
But this is actually hurting real Americans.
Yeah, absolutely.
I need you to explain to me like I'm five because you've been in Congress before.
So there's a deadline.
I don't understand why they can't just meet the deadline.
If you think that this is going to be some back and forth that's going to shut down the government for 40 days,
why can't they start these negotiations earlier?
Well, really, it comes down to political pressure.
So the Democrats, what I think they were wanting to do is make sure that they can make Donald Trump look bad.
Say, look, this guy's trying to shut down SNAP benefits right before we go into Thanksgiving.
And then they're trying to say, well, if Donald Trump wanted to fund SNAP benefits,
then we would be able to use the emergency reserve.
But the emergency reserve would only cover half of a day.
to take care of SNAP benefits for those all around the country.
And so when the Democrats are shutting this down,
they're thinking that people are going to blame Donald Trump
because they can assume that just laymen all across the country
would probably assume because we have the House,
because we have the White House,
and because we have the Senate, that this is Republicans' fault.
But I think the Republicans did a very good job
of being able to message the fact that we do not have 60 votes inside the Senate.
And it really shows what a different parallel economy we built over the last decade.
Before, CNN would have been running this story nonstop.
But now that we have so many independent journalists, we have so many social media influences
are able to get the message out to the masses, even more effectively than legacy media.
Now we're able to get the truth out and people realize how ridiculous these people are
and that they don't actually care about hardworking Americans like they claim to.
Right. You know, we've been seeing some infighting on the right.
And, you know, during Trump's first term, it was rhinos versus MAGA.
Then MAGA eventually split off because of differences on Israel.
It seems like we're, you know, the pro-Trump America First unity that we had going into the election might be dwindling a little bit.
And we're going to need to unite ahead of the midterms.
Do you think that this is something that's going to hinder us at all?
Or do you think that, like you said, people are just so thrilled with President Trump's second term that they'll just, you know, vote red and down ballot?
Well, I will tell you.
So the thing that I'm worried about is people will definitely turn out for the general elections.
That's going to happen in November.
But the thing that people need to realize is that just because somebody has an R next to their name does not mean that they are conservative, does not mean that they want to put America first.
There's so many neocons. There's so many establishment Republicans that are still left around. And they do still have a lot of funding. That's sort of think the main problem we're seeing right now is where establishment Republicans want to take this in a different direction.
And so I cannot stress enough to the American people, how important being able to go out for the primaries and elect people that are actually going to do what's best for you, not for the special interest groups or for the people in Washington, D.C. that are going to get caught up in this.
Now, the normal way people normally get elected is they will run for state house.
They'll become a county commissioner. Then they'll run for state house. Then they'll run for state senate. Then they might try their hand at running for Congress.
But the thing is, is that most establishment Republicans like this because it kind of grooms those politicians to know, hey, you need to go talk to the lobbyists first.
Then you need to talk to leadership and then you can go make a vote.
Don't worry about talking to your district because the leadership knows what's best.
But that could not be more contrary to what's the reality is.
Now, I really like Mike Johnson.
I think he's doing a good job.
But I will tell you that so many people that go through this political process
of starting out very low as a county commissioner or county commissioners are great.
As they're trying to go through, they do get groomed to understanding how the process works
for people inside of Washington, D.C.
And how they should be going about things.
because they look, this is what the leadership wants.
They want you to look to the leadership of the party first
before you look to your constituents.
And so I think people need to realize
how important the midterms, the primaries are going to be.
Because remember, we could completely change this country
was just 535 America First Patriots.
There are 535 elected legislators, 100 in the Senate, 435 in the House.
And if you were to have 535, you could have a revolution overnight
without firing a shot.
You get people just go in and we have super majorities
and both members of Congress
and be able to actually make the changes
that Donald Trump wants to make.
Did you see what Elon Musk was in Washington, D.C.
for the first six months of Trump's term?
He came up with so many great ideas
of how to get rid of all the waste, fraud,
and abuse that's going on inside our executive agencies.
But the members of the House,
even though we have so many more MAGA Republicans now,
we really only have about 60, maybe 65,
people who are truly America first in Congress.
And that's why primaries are so important.
Yeah, absolutely.
we need way more patriots. Just you talking about that has gotten me excited. I'm hopeful for the future. But what do you think will be the uniting factor for Republicans, especially because, you know, President Trump's not going to be on the ticket anymore. I'm sure his endorsement will still, you know, move mountains. But at the same time, like, we need to carry this torch. So who do you think is going to do that?
Well, I'll tell you, my number one reason, so many people were really distraught about Mom Dani winning in New York City.
And now, let me tell you, New York City lost itself many, many decades ago.
And it's been going down a more and more terrible route.
But when you saw him lose this, when you saw Mom Dani win this race and these people just vote with their feelings, not with their minds whatsoever or with logic,
I think this is actually going to be a really good sounding horn for the Republican Party going into the primaries and into the general elections.
in the midterms. Reason being is because we have someone who's literally saying he wants to
confiscate private property of landowners so that you can have state-run housing. You're going to have
someone who's going to try and create state-run grocery stores. You're going to have free busing.
You're going to have free transportation underground in the subways. And now, this all sounds nice,
but everyone knows that any time communism has been tried anywhere in the world throughout all of
history, it has led to hundreds of millions of people being killed. It's led to the worst
financial crises the world's ever seen. And it's led to people losing their very human and soul,
the spirit that they have within them, because it doesn't reward any form of hard work, any form of
innovation. And so I think that when Mom Donnie gets in, he's going to do so bad for New York City that
I think it's going to be a great sounding call for all Americans around this country to be able to say,
look, if we don't start fighting, if we don't start electing people who can message well, who can be
aggressive out of the gate, who aren't going to be bullied around by special interest groups,
but are going to fight for the American people,
then I think at that point,
people are going to come out and vote
because they're going to realize,
I don't want to live in a communist country.
I want to be able to go to work.
I don't want to be capital on how much I make.
And listen,
if he wants to raise the tax rates to be ridiculous,
let's say,
I think what was floated one time
that if you make over $2 million a year,
then you're going to be taxed at 98%
after every dollar after $2 million.
And now $2 million is a lot of money.
No one's going to deny that.
But what's going to happen?
Are these people going to continue working their butts off
for the other eight months of a year?
No, these people are going to come in and they're instantly going to say,
listen, I'm hanging at the clock.
Good luck trying to make money on your own because I'm not going to be coming in to produce any of my effort
because I'm not getting rewarded for it.
Yeah.
You know, the scariest thing about Mom Donnie, it's that, you know, if you've got anything in between your ears,
you know that all these things that he's pushing, it's a pipe dream.
You can't get this done, actually.
It's just, it sounds good, doesn't work.
And the scary part is he's talking.
talking about issues that actually do matter to younger voters. This is why they've signed on to
this bill of goods that he's selling because it is hard for young people to buy houses. People
are living paycheck to paycheck, especially in New York City where it's the cost of living is
astronomical. And a lot of people are age and younger. They rent because homeownership feels
like a pipe dream rather than the American dream. So first of all, I will say he won because
of white liberal women, which is crazy because he ran on raising taxes on white rich people,
which again, you know, I can't make sense of this because I do have something in between
here. But for other people in New York, maybe they don't. And, you know, that's their prerogative.
But how do Republicans package these kinds of issues that are very real for young people
in a way that is actually feasible rather than just, you know, we'll give you everything for free
because, you know, you deserve housing and everyone deserves this. It's kind of like a treat yourself
mentality on the left, but these issues really do matter. So how do we package that on the right?
Yes. So I think during the 2024 election and also the 2020 election, it was really about defeating
the cabal or the deep state, whatever you want to call. We're talking about permanent Washington,
the people who are globalists, the people who are cared more about the concerns of the rest of the
planet rather than what's happening here in America. But now that Donald Trump's elected,
now that we're taking control of our border, now that we're doing things, we're putting America first,
putting tariffs on another country, who've been taking advantage of our economy for decades,
and decades and decades. I think now we need to pivot our messaging to look more to the interior
of the United States, to what actual Americans are having to face. And even if we have to go outside
normal conservative doctrine, I'm willing to do that. Because if our economy does not work for
the average American person in this country who's working, the muscular class, the people who actually
make our country run, then our economy isn't an economy at all. It's just a Ponzi scheme. And so what I
think we need to do is start messaging, how are we going to lower housing costs? And that means
going after the EPA. The EPA has so many ridiculous regulations on home building costs and the
actual products we use, whether it's the wood, the sheetrock, whatever it is. It drives those actual
prices of just building a home through the roof. And then when you start looking into how our
zoning goes on in this country, we have so many people, so many places that have super high
residential housing that are owned by BlackRock and Blackstone, but don't actually have any of
the attractions that want to make young families be able to stay in those areas and make their
community better. I think we need to start attacking commercial real estate in a way that's going to
make sense for the community that's going to uplift the young family so that we have more children
in this country so that we can stand a chance in the next century. And what I think we need to do is
we need to remove significant amounts of regulation. We need to find a way. And whether that means
if you have three or four or more children, then maybe that means getting rid of your federal
income taxes, whatever we need to do to make sure that people can have money in their pocket. And whether
it's the man or the woman going to work, I don't really care. I think that we need to be able to
create an economy where a family can be able to survive with four children, have two nice cars,
have a good home, be able to go on vacation once or twice a year, and do that on a single income.
If somebody else wants to be able to go to work at the same time just for extra, that's totally
fine. But we need to have a country where you can take care of your family on one income.
And the only way to do that is to bring manufacturing back to this country to give more high-paying
jobs to stop exporting all of our goods, all of our resources across overseas.
and it also means that we need to stop importing all these ridiculous workers.
Remember, the H1B2 visas are created for the best of the best of other countries,
not for call centers, not for people that want to come in and work at $3 an hour,
whereas an American could do the job better and be able to make a living wage
that's going to be able to help them.
And so I think we need to prioritize the American working class.
And if that means, and listen, I don't want to get rid of H1B2 visas at all.
I just want to use them for what they're actually intended for.
And that's the brain drain.
I want to take the best of the best from the rest of the world if they're going
to be able to be profitable and great citizens to this country and assimilate to our great
values and the greatest country in the world then i want them here but i think one we need to
extremely go after very aggressively insurance rates on cost of home especially down here in
florida in flood insurance is absolutely ridiculous and that's because there's real no competition
that's also because we have too many regulations whenever government gets involved in something
and tries to create regulations because they think it's going to be better they're absolutely wrong
The American buyer, the American purchaser can make the best decision for him and his family and or her family.
And so I think that we need to give the power back to the people.
Don't be bringing in these regulations that are going to pick winners and losers that then allow companies to make ridiculous price gauges on whatever they want to do, whether that's insurance, whether it's the cost of building a home, whether that's being able to buy a car, whether it's the taxes you're going to face.
You know, down here in Florida, we're actually debating right now getting rid of property taxes, which I think would be a massive win for the American people.
because listen, if you have to pay the government rent to be able to own your home,
then you don't actually own your home.
And that's the reason why so many of our blue cities aren't actually conservative at all.
Because this is what the reason they want to push everyone to live in a city.
One, it creates a generation of renters.
And they want to be able to say, well, if you want to be able to afford a house inside of this city,
then you're not going to need two incomes.
And so here's abortion on command.
And you should have children later and later and later in life.
And so then if you have a population of people that don't own any property,
They don't care about what the financial outcome of the future is for their area.
They don't care about what the tax rates are.
And if you don't have any children,
then you're obviously not going to care about the next generation
or how your country is going to look in 60 years because you're not going to be around.
That is what creates so many of these reckless voters who vote to say,
gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, that's why Zoran, Mom, Donnie won.
I think we need to make it extremely accessible for young Americans to be able to buy a home
to be able to have a great job in whatever part of the country they want to live in
and to where they can afford this on a single income so that we can have more children.
in this country. I believe family values are the one thing that creates more conservatives.
Family values are what creates a strong country. And a strong country gives us a great future for
the next 250 years. And so I genuinely believe it is the, because should be conservative's number
one prerogative to make this country affordable for young Americans, to make this country accessible
where you can be able to get into the workforce. You've had a high paying job and you're able to
get great jobs without having to go to college. College is one of the biggest scams I've ever
heard my life. And if you start looking at what happened in Virginia, what happened in New Jersey,
what happened in New York City, the reason these radicals were able to win is because all these
college educated people were going out and they voted based on their feelings, not what's
based best for their countries help, what's based on their financial outcome, what's based for
their spirit, what's based for their soul. So many people want to vote on what feels good rather than
what actually does good. And I can understand the impetus. If you're a freshman in college and you
hear, well, if we give just, you know, you go read Carl's Mark's absolutely ridiculous,
propaganda, then you're going to think, yeah, we should give health care to everyone. Yeah,
everyone should be able to have a nice house and all this stuff. But what they failed to realize
is that Karl Marx did not include human greed whatsoever. People will take advantage of the system.
And if we can't go out and make money for ourselves and for our family, create a legacy for our
children, then no one's going to want to create or innovate. And therefore, no one's going to
have any great jobs and things are just going to skyrocketing price. We're going to have breadlines.
Your life is going to be significantly less better. And we're going to start having to ration what
kind of medical care we got. I had to spend $4 million to be able to survive a car accident
I suffered when I was 18 years old for almost a year and a half in the hospital. Do you think
that a government run or a state-sponsored medical practice that Zora and Mamdani wants to be
able to do would have said, oh yeah, that's a valuable person. Let's get that going. But no,
because if we in America have no regulations, we see the promise in the spirit that everyone can
bring to this country. And therefore, you can go out and make a difference for yourself.
absolutely do you worry about you know people who were living in new york there maybe they're
democrats maybe they're afraid of mom dani maybe these are quomo voters and then they're going to
come to florida do you worry about new yorkers making florida new york yeah and so i mean obviously
i like quomo voters way more than i like mom dani voters but it's been very evident for the last
three decades if you vote for the establishment democrats like they have in new york city for i don't know
how long, it leads to an inevitable end where people are just going to say, who can give me
the most, who can take away from those that have and give to those who do not, because we don't
actually want to work hard. That is going to lead to more Zeramamandis all around this country.
That's going to lead to an Islamist invasion of our nation. That's going to lead to people
removing the soul and spirit and private property ownership and the right to bear arms, the right
to freedom of expression. That's going to remove all of these rights that we hold so dear in this
country. And so all I say to these New Yorkers who probably will be running is that if you're going
to be leaving New York City, leave your bullshit politics at the Hudson. I've also think, I mean,
at this point, I think we need to have a little survey that you have to fill out before you
move to some of our great red states. Because if you vote for what you fled, then you're just going
to create more hellscapes all around this country. You're going to have high interest rates. You're going
have high taxes. You're going to have people who don't want to go out and work. You're going to have
so many people on welfare. And listen, when I talk about welfare, when I talk about all these things,
I don't mind giving a helping hand up to somebody who's been hurt.
Obviously, I've been in a situation where I needed a lot of helping hands.
I was in a hospital for a year and a half.
I couldn't speak.
I couldn't use my arms, couldn't use my legs.
But, you know, there was a system in place that was able to get me back on my feet.
I was able to move forward.
But when we create a system that wants to just give, give, give,
it's just like when you go into a national park.
It says, warning, don't feed the animals.
Because if you feed the animals, they'll be dependent and we'll forget how to hunt.
That's the exact same thing that's going on in New York because of all these Andrew Cuomo voters
who decided they were just going to vote for more handouts, more free things.
things, and that's lettuce to Zora Mondani. So I am actually very terrified of people moving out of
those cities and making red states into blue states, changing our cities, making things the worst,
getting rid of the rule of law. And so if you're going to leave one of those states, make sure that
you go somewhere that you're going to continue to assimilate to what made that state great in the
first place. And if they are not going to, I say let's go ahead and just build one more wall right
across the border of Florida. Love it. So you're running in Florida rather than North Carolina.
when did you move to Florida you're running for you're running to fill
Byron Donald's seat because he's running for governor so who's your competition
how do you see this race playing out are we going to see Congressman Madison
Cawthorne again well absolutely so I moved down here right after my election in North
Carolina we had a redistricting battle that went on and it gave me a very liberal city so
then I said if I'm not going to be able to represent myself I'm going to let the second
best congressman in the world who's probably the best congressman right now
byron Donald's be able to do it so I moved down here about two or three days after I
moved down maybe maybe a week we got hit by hurricane Ian which one of the best biggest hurricanes
we ever been hit by in Florida so I always say I was baptized as a Floridian there's no better way to
get your neighbors than delivering gas to them and just everybody banding together to make sure
that's going to be able to survive a terrible storm and so I've been here about for almost four years now
and it's just my home it's the greatest place in the world but really watching how the community
came together to be able to support one another is what made me fall so in love with this place
also being on the water everything's all hand control so it makes me not feel paralyzed whatsoever
So I love this area, love this warm, warm temperatures.
But I will tell you, Florida has got to realize that just because,
and this is one thing that's southwest Florida down here in Naples and Fort Myers,
that they understand very well, just because somebody has an R beside their name,
does not mean that they're conservative, does not mean that they're going to fight for freedom,
does not mean that they're going to actually fight for you as a normal American.
And so that's why I'm running, because I know how easily Washington, D.C. can take these good,
good-willing, good-hearted patriots, and then turn them into permanent Washington.
They can get them bought into the system drinking the Kool-Aid and they'll be voting against the interest of their people and they'll be voting for whatever interest group is paying the most money for their re-election.
And so I'm someone who's obviously been to Washington, D.C.
I could have gone left or I could have gone right and just been led astray by either the leadership or by going to permanent Washington, but I stayed on the right path.
And obviously, I was punished for it because, you know, Republicans' leadership and the leadership on the Democrat Party, they don't like people that vote for themselves.
They don't like people that are going to listen to their constituents rather than the special interest groups.
And so they'll activate every weapon they have to be able to get those people out of office.
You're seeing this happen to all the conservatives in Washington, D.C. right now.
And so I'm just wanting to get this message across.
If you want someone that's going to lower the price of your food, that's going to keep the cost of gas down,
that's going to be able to let your children and your children's children be able to afford a home
and not have some multinational conglomerate buying up all the single family homes in America.
You have to elect people that understand how to fight the beast,
someone that have been there, someone who knows how to actually win in the face of an extreme,
controversy and extreme adversarial opponents who are very powerful, very strong. But if you send
someone up there who's just going to be led around like a puppy by leadership, you're going to get
more of the same. And when so many people say, well, don't go to Washington, D.C., because, you know,
you might rock the boat some. The boat is sinking. If we don't do something to save our republic now,
and Donald Trump is holding the wall as hard as he can, but we have got to have America first
patriots who are going to back him up and codify this stuff into law so that when a Democrat gets
elected again, they can't just instantly roll the time back. And so I think it's a
extraordinarily important that people really look at the candidates who are running,
figure out not just, okay, is that person a Republican or is this person a conservative?
They need to figure out who is going to fight for you.
Because there's a lot of people who would actually go to Washington, D.C. and want to vote
correctly. But if you can't build a coalition, if you can't build a movement to be able to get
a majority of Congress to vote with you, then it does no good. And so that's why I'm running,
because I know how to be able to build a coalition. I know how to use the platform of being a member
of Congress to be able to get things done. I know how to get things through appropriations,
lead bills over to the Senate so that things can get past and actually make Americans better and
stronger. I believe in American hegemony. We should dominate the entire Western Hemisphere. We should
control all precious resources all around the world. If you want something done, you should have to
ask America for it. I don't want an internal revenue service. I want an external revenue service.
I want the American people to be a special class of citizens all around the planet because we
work so hard and our Americans are so great and deserving of so much more than they're being
given right now. All right. Where can people find out more about your policy?
website. Where can people follow you? Absolutely. So Madisoncothorn.com or on any social media
Madison Cawthorne, I'd be honored for you guys to get involved, honor for you guys to follow along.
If you live down here in Florida, I'd love to have your vote. And if you're out of the district,
I need some door knockers, need some people to come to support. And if you're outside of the state,
you can't make it down, your prayers are extremely appreciated. So Haley, I appreciate you so much
for having me on. It's been an honor. This was awesome. Thank you so much, Madison.
Absolutely. Thank you. All right. I hope you enjoyed that conversation with Madison Cawthor.
him back in the swamp. I mean, who would have thought going back to the swamp? You get out and then
