Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, everybody. Welcome to Vince on a Thursday. It is so good to have you with us, as always. We've got a big show ahead for you. The President of the United States is using a phrase that I've been encouraging him to straight up invoke. The Insurrection Act. We'll talk about what just took place in Minnesota overnight. More chaos there. As the President says, it is time to tackle it. Will he do it? We're encouraging him. We'll talk about it. It's all ahead on this program. We're also being joined by the Harry. Foundation's Dr. Kevin Roberts, a lot to talk about with him and a lot more to get to all on the show ahead. But first, I want to thank the great sponsors of this program. I want to talk to you about something I've been watching very closely. Will the Fed cut rates again this quarter? Everybody's got an opinion on that subject, but I like checking the actual market sentiment on Kalshi. I've got their app on my phone and the odds are saying that, you know, are taking a look at this thing right now. and everyone's placing their guesses as to whether or not this is actually going to happen.
Starting point is 00:01:03 And honestly, I do think it's going to happen. I think they're going to make another cut. We'll see. Kalshi is one of the only places where you can trade on real world events in all 50 states. It's not just politics or economics. They've got markets on everything, from inflation numbers to sports to pop culture. I like using Kalshi to track the odds and see what people are betting on. It's like getting a pulse on what the world thinks is going to happen.
Starting point is 00:01:24 You can go to Kalshi.com slash vince and get a free $10 credit. it when you trade $100. That's kowshee.com slash vince. Once again, calchie.com slash vince. Starting point is 00:01:55 Unbelievable. Just the violence, the chaos, the rioting once again in Minneapolis overnight, more pandemonium. And here's how this thing begins yesterday. We find out from Trisha McLaughlin, a spokeswoman at the Department of Homeland Security, that federal agents were attempting to arrest a man from Venezuela, I think you can safely assume illegal alien, who was, of course, in the country illegally, the New York Times confirms, in a targeted traffic stop at around 6.50 last night, 6.50 p.m. local time. She said that he fled from agents.
Starting point is 00:02:31 He made a break for it. it. When the officer caught up to him, Trisha McLaughlin explained, he began to resist and violently assaulted the officer. That is when two more people came out of a building and along with the man who they were trying to take into custody, the illegal Venezuelan, began attacking the ice officer with a snow shovel and a broom handle. They began striking the officer. So now it's three on one. they've got weapons. What does the officer do? Well, they say he feared for his life and he fired shots and he struck the man, the illegal, who the agents were trying to take into custody, in the leg, said Trisha McLaughlin. So what happened after that is the agent and the man,
Starting point is 00:03:18 the illegal alien. I'm reading from the New York Times. That's why I keep saying man. The agent and the illegal who was shot are now in the hospital, DHS says. And the other two people who were a part of attacking the ICE agent have been taken into custody. That was the precipitating event to all of the chaos that took place in Minneapolis last night. So an ICE agent, just trying to do his job,
Starting point is 00:03:39 take a violent Venezuelan illegal alien into custody. The illegal alien begins to attack the ice officer after attempting to flee in the first place. And then he's joined by two other people. We have no idea what their status is, who they are, but they come out. And all of a sudden, all of these people are attacking this ice officer, including with weapons, broom handles and snow shovels.
Starting point is 00:03:58 So the ICE officer defends himself, shoots the dude in the leg. So why are people even rioting at all? The guy shot him in the leg. Isn't that what Joe Biden told people that cops should do? Cut 11. You remember this? Here's Joe. And the idea that instead of standing there and teaching a cop,
Starting point is 00:04:17 when there's an unarmed person, coming at him with a knife or something, shooting in a leg instead of in the heart, is a very different thing. There's a lot of different things that can change. Yeah, the old Joe Biden rule. Shoot them in the leg. Why are we shooting people center mass?
Starting point is 00:04:32 No more of that. Cops should be shooting people in the legs. Okay. So an ice agent shot somebody in the leg. Now what? You're going to stop rioting? Oh, no, no. Things got really, really crazy overnight in Minneapolis.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Watch here as anti-ice protesters and federal agents have to square off. Just craziness last night in Minneapolis. Cut four. Here's some of the imagery. As you have crowd dispersal techniques. Boom, boom, boom, flashbangs going off, tear gas being deployed. This is rioting is happening all over the place in Minneapolis. Just crazy.
Starting point is 00:05:11 And so that takes place last night. And then additionally, the mob began breaking into federal vehicles and stealing documents from federal law enforcement. Cut five. Watch this. Again, this is all just because the illegal army and planned cops and attacked them. Their whole battle, like their battle plan out here, I guess. They got a hold of ICE's entire, entire, like, game plan for Minneapolis, they said in a packet. That's what status coup was reading.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Okay, so that's what status coup might have been reading on their stream then. So you hear what he's saying. So thank you for that clip, guys. So you hear what he's saying there is like, look, they break into federal law enforcement vehicles. they grab documents out of the car and then they begin reading them over their live streams. He was referring to status coup. They were reading over their live streams the various logistical details that this law enforcement had inside of its vehicle. So that's what the mob was doing last night.
Starting point is 00:06:20 And not only are they seizing documents and then disseminating this law enforcement activity to the public. They're also ripping out the weapons lockers from the federal vehicles that they're breaking. into. Some of these vehicles, of course, have a locker in the back to keep guns and other important items. And here's the mob ripping a weapons locker directly out of a federal vehicle last night and failing to crack it open. Cut six, watch this. They strap it to the back of a truck. They put a tow rope around it. They yank it directly out of the back of the vehicle. And the mob jumps all over it. It's like, just like a bunch of animals. And they have no idea. One of the wild things about this video is just how low IQ everybody who's involved is. They don't know how to open a box
Starting point is 00:07:11 with a lock on it. Yeah, because it's locked, dummies. And they begin jumping and kicking it. Jumping on it and kicking it. Is that going to open a locked safe? Is it? Are you people really that stupid? And the answer, of course, is yes, the people, so many people on the ground are really that stupid. The collective IQ of that group probably doesn't break triple digits. We're probably still around room temperature for everybody here. Look at this. And then they start trying to pound the lock with a hammer and that doesn't work. And at one point, some dude picks up the safe and then throws it on the ground thinking that the safe is going to open. And then finally, they, they meander away because they fail to defeat the padlock on a safe. And then they're like,
Starting point is 00:07:55 I don't think there's anything in there anyway. So that they're, they're like, I don't think there's anything in there anyway. They just surrender. These are not the toughest opponents ever. I just want to be clear. They're not the smartest. It is possible to tackle all of this. It really is. In fact, the Trump administration last night deployed the Bureau of Prisons.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Bureau of Prisons officers, in the absence of the Minneapolis police department being of any use last night, the Trump administration deployed the Bureau of Prisons to restore order. Take a look, cut seven. Bureau of Prisons officials showing up. And you can tell because it says it right on their name tags. Look. Cut seven. Yeah, Bureau of Prisons. What does it say on there? Oh, federal officer bureau of prisons. So these guys would normally train to look after prisoners and stop prison riots. Here they are trying to stop a riot in the streets of the United States of America. That's what they were up to last night. You see those guys holding a pepper spray and police batons. They're wearing helmets.
Starting point is 00:08:58 They got tear gas canisters strapped up. These guys trying to put down the mob last night. The riot certainly called into action and stepping up in the moment of need. But this discontinues, right? This happens in Minneapolis. And it's happening with the encouragement of local officials who think it's just absolutely wonderful. They're all in on this kind of chaos. And boy, they hate you.
Starting point is 00:09:23 They hate the American people. They hate the federal government. They hate law and order. here's the mayor of Minneapolis last night. Again, this is all brand new information. It's crazy that we have a new news cycle on this subject every day. And it's more miserable than the last. Here's Jacob Fry, the mayor of Minneapolis, whining last night about federal agents cleaning up his city.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Take a look. Imagine if that city or that town was suddenly invaded by thousands of federal agents that do not share the values that you hold dear. Imagine if your daily routines were disrupted. The local cafe that you eat at was shut down because they're scared that their own family might get torn apart. Imagine if schools shut down and suddenly parents got to figure out what to do for daycare. Are you serious? Are you listening to anything he's saying? He's like, oh, just imagine if your state was invaded.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Now he's saying by ice. You know, you know a state that's been invaded? Minnesota. You know a city that's been invaded? Minneapolis. You know by whom? Illegal aliens who should not be in our country at all. And then he goes on and say, like, what are parents going to do if they need to take their kids
Starting point is 00:10:38 out of school and send them to daycare? Daycare. You want to talk about daycare in Minnesota? The daycare system in Minnesota is rife with fraud. Somalis have been stealing money to the tune of $9, 10, upwards of $20 billion. And you're talking about daycare? Please, you're disgusting. You're disgusting.
Starting point is 00:10:58 And Jacob Fry, how else can you look at this other than he's advancing evil? The soy boy mayor is the face of evil in Minneapolis. And then you've got the limp-risted governor of the state, Tampon Tim Walls, who last night, even before the rioting, he gave an address to the nation urging Minnesotans to accost ice wherever they go. Listen to Cut 9. Here's Tim Walls last night amidst the rioting even ahead of it. Tonight I want to share another way you can help.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Witness. Help us establish a record of exactly what's happening in our communities. You have an absolute right to peacefully film ICE agents as they conduct these activities. So carry your phone with you at all times. And if you see these ICE agents in your neighborhood, take out that phone and hit record. Help us create a database of the atrocities against Minnesotans, not just to establish a record for posterity, but to bank evidence for future prosecution.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Atrocities, to bank evidence for future prosecution. These are criminals, says Tampon, Tim Walls. The governor of an entire state creating more conflict against federal law enforcement who are doing the job. And what job are they doing? They're taking rapists off the street. They're taking child sodomizers off the street. They're taking murderers off the street.
Starting point is 00:12:20 They're getting illegal aliens out of our country. and they're making our country safer. And on whose side do you stand tampon Tim Walls or Mayor Soyboy, where are you guys standing? You're standing on the side of the criminals. That's what you're doing. And then for him last night, he thinks he's being so clever. He's like, just get out there, very peacefully. Record ice as they do their jobs.
Starting point is 00:12:42 You know what he's calling for. This is like the cleanest, clearest dog whistle ever heard. The guy's telling people accost ice officers. Get in their faces, make their jobs more miserable. record them, act like they're the bad guys, try and basically hector them away from this community. Do everything you can to prevent federal law enforcement from doing the job that the American people want them to do.
Starting point is 00:13:06 That's what Tim Walls is calling for. So we've got an insurrection on our hands. I've been as crystal clear about this from the moment it began as you can possibly be. This is an insurrection and the president of the United States should invoke the insurrection. The Insurrection Act. The Insurrection Act dates back to the early 1800s. It is a law that allows the president of the United States to restore order where there is none, where insurrection is taking place in the United States of America. And invariably throughout U.S. history, that includes government officials who've betrayed their oaths of office and have either declared war or implicitly are waging one against the people of the United States.
Starting point is 00:13:49 In other words, they're staging an insurrection. The Insurrection Act has been invoked 30 times in American history, 30 times. And the only time governors have ever protested it, they've all been Democrats, whether it's Orville Fobis or George Wallace. It's always Democrats who oppose the invocation of the Insurrection Act to restore order in the United States of America. In fact, no Republican governor in American history has ever objected to the invocation of the Insurrection of the Insurrection.
Starting point is 00:14:22 Act to put down an insurrection in their own state. No Republican has ever objected to it. Democrats routinely. And we're seeing it again in this century. Tim Walz opposes President Trump's invocation of the insurrection act. He's said it many times. Don't send the troops in. Don't try and restore order.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Don't help us at all. But help needs to be on the way. And we got some indications overnight that the Trump administration is definitely moving towards something. Now, I've got to be honest, I'm dissatisfied that we're already not at that something. I'd like to see it happened yesterday, a long time ago. But here's the progress we've got right now.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Last night, Todd Blanche, who is the Deputy Attorney General of the United States Department of Justice, posted on X that he is now seriously going after Jacob, Fry and Tim Walls. Here's what Todd Blanche said. He said, ICE operates in thousands of counties without incident. Thousands of counties. Men and women doing their jobs protecting us from criminal aliens.
Starting point is 00:15:36 Minnesota's insurrection is a direct result of a failed governor and a terrible mayor encouraging violence against law enforcement. It's disgusting, says Todd Blanche. He's right. He's right. All of this is correct. All of this is unimpeachably correct. He says, Tim Walz and Jacob Fry, I'm focused on stopping you from your terrorism by whatever means necessary.
Starting point is 00:16:04 This is not a threat. It is a promise. Now, for the Deputy Attorney General to say this of the United States Department of Justice, not a small thing. What we now have is the second in command at the Justice Department, openly referring. to Tim Walls and Jacob Fry as insurrectionists. And he's accusing them of terrorism. He says, I want to stop you from your terrorism by whatever means necessary. He says, this is not a threat, it's a promise. Fine. A promise of what? What happens next?
Starting point is 00:16:49 What is the United States Department of Justice going to do about? this. What can be done that's within the control of the United States Department of Justice? Will you be bringing charges against the governor of the state? Will you bring charges against the mayor of the city of Minneapolis? Perhaps you'll bring charges against people like Keith Ellison, the attorney general of the state who's been caught on tape collaborating with criminals who are defrauding the taxpayers of not just Minneapolis but the United States. Are there going to be charges. Do you have the attorneys you need? If you don't, what help do you need from us to get them? We're all in this together. This is our country. What do you need from us to make this happen?
Starting point is 00:17:33 Just tell us. We'll help you. This audience stands by to help you. Whatever you need. Just tell us. Who do we need to contact? Who do we need to browbeat? Say the word. We're in. And it's not just the deputy attorney general of the United States who's now sounding the alarm. in this way. President Trump this morning has added his voice to this subject. 8.4 a.m. Eastern time this morning. President Trump consuming everything I just shared with you,
Starting point is 00:18:01 the scenes of rioting in Minneapolis, just the atrocious behavior of the Democrats who lead that city and state. Here's what he said today on truth social. If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don't obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists, from attacking the Patriots of ICE, who are only trying to do their job,
Starting point is 00:18:25 I will institute the Insurrection Act, which many presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great state. Thank you for your attention to this matter, President D.J.T. I love President Trump. Greatest president of my lifetime.
Starting point is 00:18:49 I have so much to be thankful for. for about his administration. But this one's always bugged me. President Trump has brought up the Insurrection Act many times. Many times. He's brought it up. President Trump has never once invoked the Insurrection Act. Has he deployed troops to help try and bring about peace to America's cities?
Starting point is 00:19:10 Yes. And he's engaged in all sorts of legal battles, including with the governor of California and other states as he attempts to do that. Has he deployed the National Guard? Yes, he has. attempted to restore peace in America's cities through using all sorts of resources that he has access to as the president of the United States. But up until now, and including now, he still has never invoked the Insurrection Act. There's a theory in Washington. One of the reasons he hasn't
Starting point is 00:19:38 done it is because that Republicans or perhaps President Trump himself are worried about the political consequences of invoking the Insurrection Act, that somehow the American people would turn against him if he did that and that it would be to his detriment in the midterms. I'm here to tell you that it is to your detriment not to restore order. Why do you think the left wages so much chaos? Why do you think they choose election years to do it? What was happening in 2020? The George Floyd riots were designed to leave an impression in the mind of the American voter that nobody was in charge in this country, that the chaos would redound to the consequence. It would hurt. It would become a liability for, and it certainly did for President
Starting point is 00:20:22 Trump, that he owned the chaos by virtue of the fact that it was happening while he was president of the United States. The left intended that to be the impression that voters were left with, and some definitely were. The consequences of allowing chaos to continue politically are far greater than the benefit than any sort of political liability that might come from restoring order. And the other thing to remember is exactly what President Trump just said in this post. Many presidents have done this before him. He's right about that. If you read any of the covers this morning that is talking about President Trump, they don't tell you that.
Starting point is 00:21:01 They spend a lot of time saying things like, and I swear to you, I read Legacy news covers this morning and I was like, these people are either liars or completely ignorant. They'll say things, they'll reference the fact that the Insurrection Act is a law that dates back to 1808 or whatever year. was passed originally as if it's it's so antiquated i can't even believe president trump is attempting to use it that's the implication that they're trying to leave the the reader with or they'll say things like which it requires the governor to request assistance uh in order to put down the insurrection in their state yeah no that that's not true either i i've already explained this democrat governors have routinely routinely routinely oftentimes in the interest of advancing segregation and racial hatred have routinely advanced insurrections and rejected the president's invocation
Starting point is 00:21:52 of the insurrection act those presidents did it anyway they did it anyway to restore order in the united states of america republican governors insofar as they had insurrections in their state they would request help in 1992 during the rodney king riots in the l a riots you had a request from California Governor Pete Wilson to George H.W. Bush in order to invoke the Insurrection Act. And they did. So that was a time when a president and a governor were collaborating. And it turns out those were both Republicans collaborating in order to restore peace to the west coast of the United States. This is not unfortunately unusual. Has it happened this century? No. But if there's ever been a time to do it, President Trump should do it now. do it now there's been a lot of talk what we want is action we want our we want our country back
Starting point is 00:22:49 you know the american military just flew into venezuela and the course of what 90 minutes was able to capture meduro and his wife and get them out of the country the in iran we disabled nuclear facilities in a 15-minute bombing campaign the united states government is capable of incredible things if it sets its mind to it. We've got something, we have a crisis on our hands here in the United States of America. And now is the time to do something about it. We don't want a police state. We don't want tyranny.
Starting point is 00:23:27 We don't want our country being destroyed by government or citizen or illegal. We don't want any of that. We want order restored. We want our country back. And we voted for you, President Trump, to help make that happen. So please do. Please make it happen.
Starting point is 00:23:45 All right. More ahead. More ahead on this edition of Vince, including like Tim Walls. Man, has that guy ever done anything right? Even in his tyrannical statements, the guy screws it up. They screwed up the entire broadcast last night. It was a complete dumpster fire. I've got that for you and so much more.
Starting point is 00:24:01 All ahead on this edition of Vince. You know, everyday Americans make choices that shape our country's future, right down to which cell phone provider we support. And here's what people, don't realize. This is what a lot of people don't realize. Patreon mobile isn't just a wireless provider. They're a Christian conservative organization that sells top-tier cell phone service. They're great. They've been on the front lines helping to defend our freedoms long before it was cool, standing in the gap when others would not, when others would not. You know, the best part is this.
Starting point is 00:24:32 They deliver prioritized premium service on all three major U.S. networks, giving you the same or even better coverage, backed up by 100% U.S.-based customer support. Get unlimited data plans, mobile hotspots, international roaming, and more. And when you switch to Patriot Mobile, you're going to support a company that helps fuel the Christian conservative cause and advanced PatriotMobil's values of faith, family, and freedom. Switching is easier than ever. Activate in just minutes. Keep your number.
Starting point is 00:24:57 Keep your phone or even upgrade. Take a stand today. Go to patriotmobile.com slash Vince. We call 972 Patriot. Use the promo code Vince and get a free month of service. That's Patriotmobile. Vince or call 972 Patriot and make the switch today. That's right.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Make the switch today. Thank you, Patriot Mobile. Yeah, so a couple of other elements here. Tim Walls is live stream last night. You know, this speech he gave where he told everybody they need to spend all their time accosting ICE agents, which of course is a complete, a complete mess. This is an insurrectionist mess. The stream broke down.
Starting point is 00:25:37 So I don't know what the hell is going on in. the Minnesota governor's office. But they don't even know how to broadcast their own speeches. Watch this. Cut 10. This video no longer exists because they deleted it from the internet. They went full George Orwell on it. They thought maybe if we just drop it in the memory hole, nobody will see it. Yeah, we saw it. Watch this. Cut 10. So tonight, let me say once again to Donald Trump and Christy. And I know it's absurd that we all have to defend. You've done enough. Let me say four critical things to the people, Minnesota. Four things I want you to hear is
Starting point is 00:26:09 you watch the news and look out for your neighbors. All right. Enough of that. You're doing that? Do you hear that? I don't know what's going on. They're looping his voice. So it's like impossible to understand any words that's coming out of his stupid mouth. The whole thing is just like a complete, a complete mess. And I posted our next this morning. Okay, how about this?
Starting point is 00:26:31 Forget, forget trying to, you know, to list all the things he screwed up. Why don't we just list the things Tim Wallace has done correctly? why don't we just did that'll be a simple list what is tim waws done correctly is there anything have you ever seen him load of shotgun has he ever actually served in combat he lied about that you know does you not a wave has he ever not pranced as he as he flitted about on stage what is tim wall's ever done correctly i'm not sure there's an answer to that question i don't know if he's done anything correctly yeah how did he become governor kind of Yeah, he lost the election.
Starting point is 00:27:13 It says me in 1976. Yeah, that's true. He did do that correctly. He lost the election, the election. And he wasn't, again, nobody even voted for him or Kamala to become the nominees of those party. Yeah. That's good. Oh, and he dropped out of re-election.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Yeah, he did drop out of re-election in Minnesota. So I guess those things he did do correctly. All right. So he's got some things on the list. Lefties are going crazy. Do you see the tool of the week? You know about the tool of the week? this guy, Isaac just looked at me.
Starting point is 00:27:43 He goes, no, I don't know. Who's the toll of the week? Ready? Here's the toll of the week. This dude, he drove four hours one way to come to Minnesota, meaning it's eight hours round trip, eight hours of driving. He did eight hours of driving, burned eight hours of gas to stand outside of a random Mexican restaurant in Minnesota to protect the Mexican restaurant from ICE.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Now, there's no reason to believe that ICE was going to show up at this restaurant. The only thing that would lead you to that conclusion is if you're a racist who assumes that ICE is only targeting people because they're Mexican or something. Here's the tool of the week. Cut two. Paul, you came in from Madison, Wisconsin. That's a long drive. Help explain to me why you're here outside of this business right now. So I'm out here right now because this business put out a call for people to stand on this corner to watch the business for them.
Starting point is 00:28:38 They've been really worried about reopening. They were shut down for the past five days after ICE was here, and they just aren't comfortable just doing this on their own. And this is a Mexican restaurant and grocery store. And Paul, I see that you have a lot of equipment on you. You have a camera, obviously. You have another GoPro back here. You've got this acts as a whistle you were telling me.
Starting point is 00:29:02 And you've also got a first aid kit. Why is he dressed like a lib version of the Bronner? Man. What the hell was that? I'm going to pull this up, Justin. If we can do it, if we could do a comparison here. Can you, can you? Do you see this?
Starting point is 00:29:27 Is it, Justin, could you do this side by side for me? There's the, I guess this is the modern version of the Bronny man. Now show me that kid if he could. Is it possible? I'm asking Justin to pull off a lot here. We didn't even discuss this before the show. but I'm looking at this dude and he's like he is uh what's the what's the word he's like a flamboyant version of the brawny man except that guy couldn't fight his way through a paper towel
Starting point is 00:29:54 look at him oh that's funny that's great anyway so he man talk about all the gas and what is he doing you see all the cameras the guys got on him he's got a GoPro on his shoulder he's He's got like a Canon digital SLR around his neck. I think he's got a rape whistle on his neck too. And he's standing outside of a Mexican restaurant. And what's he going to do? Like so if ICE showed up, what does that dude do? I can see you.

He's the president of the Heritage Foundation where they're always staying busy. Thinking up all the important ways to rescue our nation. Kevin, great to have you with us on the show, sir. As always.
Starting point is 00:33:49 It's always a pleasure. Thank you for what you do to be part of taking back America. Well, you know, I'm real on this morning. I'm sure you are too, seeing these images yet again at a Minneapolis. We get more rioting overnight. And why are they rioting? They're rioting because a law enforcement officer, ICE officer, had to defend himself
Starting point is 00:34:07 from a mob of people who were looking to hurt or kill him. They were striking him with poles and with snow shovels. And he fires his weapon, hits an illegal alien, violent illegal in the leg. And now there's riots in Minneapolis. And the president this morning says, you know what, it might be time to think about finally invoking the Insurrection Act.
Starting point is 00:34:28 And I don't know if you have a position on this, Dr. Roberts, but my position is he should have done it a while ago. What do we need to do here? Well, something definitely needs to change because at its most fundamental, as you outlined, Vince, this is one of the most egregious violations of the rule of law that I see, certainly in modern American history. And it is as simple as the following. a federal law enforcement agency with jurisdiction, especially over illegal aliens, is not only not being cooperated with by local law enforcement, but in many jurisdictions in this country, obviously in Minneapolis and across the state of Minnesota, those law enforcement leaders are actively undermining their work, thereby putting into jeopardy the lives of those federal law enforcement agents. So the president, I think, is entirely right morally, ethically to be thinking about. doing something like invoking the Insurrection Act. I'm hopeful that there can be additional steps as well. But ultimately, if you take even one step back, additional step back, you realize the American people have had enough of this. They really do want law and order. And ultimately,
Starting point is 00:35:38 these jurisdictions that are sanctuary cities and states and counties stand in the way of Americans' public safety. And also, you know, our media have a way of scandalizing anything that Donald Trump does and acting like it would be somehow unprecedented. It's not unprecedented. to invoke the insurrection act. I was just going over the numbers again today. The Interrection Act has been invoked 30 times by American presidents in our history. Many of those times have been in the last century. And insofar as there's been recalcitrance from governors, it's always Democrats, whether it's, you know, Orville Fulbis or it's George Wallace. Basically, Democrats constantly foment insurrections in American history, and it's often Republican
Starting point is 00:36:16 presidents, but sometimes Democrat presidents who have to invoke the Insurrection Act to put it down. That's just the way things have been. President Trump wouldn't be doing anything unusual here, would he? No, he wouldn't be. I mean, to your point, there's a long history of invoking the Insurrection Act. Heritage, my colleagues, be publishing an analysis of this particular situation later today. So therefore, I'll answer this as a historian of this country, as you know. The reason the Insurrection Act exists is precisely because of what's going on in Minneapolis, which is to say, where the federal government has jurisdiction, particularly as it relates to public safety and the rule of law, occasionally in our republic's history,
Starting point is 00:36:56 cities and counties and states have violated that. And so if in fact we settled something in the American Civil War, which is that the federal government has this authority, then if you believe in the rule of law and you call yourselves, as the Democrat Party does, the party of democracy, then it seems to me that something has to impose that rule of law. That's why the Insurrection Act exists. So one of the things that we're watching these Democrat leaders do is they issue these statements that they, I think they're being very clever. Tim Walls last night was urging people in Minnesota to get in the faces of ICE officers, but he said things like, well, do it peacefully, but take your camera out and then record everything they're doing so we can use that
Starting point is 00:37:40 in prosecutions of these ICE agents. Now, nobody with any sanity about them whatsoever thinks that ICE agents are guilty of any violations of the law here. In fact, they're taking child rapists and sodomizers and homicidal maniacs off the street. That's what they're actually doing. But Tim Walz will say things like that. Jacob Fry will tell people to continue to protest and tell ICE to get out of these communities. It does seem like these government officials are very much a part of fomenting the chaos we're seeing. Oh, I think they're totally guilty of that.
Starting point is 00:38:10 And it's really important for people to understand on a practical level what having a sanctuary city or sanctuary state does, what it means is it makes it that much harder for ICE agents to actually find the felons, the worst of the worst among the illegal aliens, which then means you have to round up all of the illegal aliens and process them, and you continue to undermine the common good. But the key point you're making, Vince, about the governor, the attorney general of Minnesota, the mayor of Minneapolis, who in addition to being a goofball, is also fomenting unrest, there has to be an account. The American people are upset not just with the loss of life and not just with the disorder, but the fact that this is such a pattern and it's being fomented
Starting point is 00:38:56 by a political institution, the Democratic Party of Minnesota. So why is their base so susceptible to this? Maybe that's kind of a sociological question. It's certainly an implication for American politics. Why are there so many lefties who do take to the streets, people like Renee Good, who think they're engaged in some sort of righteous holy war, and she parks perpendicularly across the to try and block ice agents from doing their job. They give her endless minutes of patience as they ask her to move her car. She doesn't. They go up to the vehicle, finally try and get her out of it.
Starting point is 00:39:24 She guns it into one of the ice agents. And, of course, he opens fire rightfully, defending himself and his fellow agents. What leads a woman like Renee Good to do this? How does this happen in America at such scale? I think there are two huge factors that play into that. The first is politics has become their religion. This group of people, largely speaking, I'm sure there are exceptions. are people who have among the lowest church attendance in the country.
Starting point is 00:39:49 They're part of the accelerating trend of a lack of religiosity. And what that means is that that's going to be replaced by something. And that something has become politics, which is just an awful thing to worship, right? That's not an altar we want to build. But the second thing is, and you know, I'm going to answer this as an educator too, you can't love what you don't know. And so two generations of not only poorly teaching American history and civics and philosophy and economics, but actually using that time for other projects like indoctrination have finally come home to roost. This is what we're confronting is the rotten fruit of that miseducation of the American populace for such a long time.
Starting point is 00:40:31 Okay, this brings me into something that I know you're focused on right now and is the restoration of the American family. Because I do think that that's at the epicenter of a lot of the problems we're seeing. What has been the trend in family formation in the United States? What does that look like? Are people getting married? Are they having children? I mean, are they going to church? What has been, what does that trend line look like?
Starting point is 00:40:52 And what is Herod is doing right now to try to address this? Well, and you're right that it's completely connected to this dynamic of someone like Renee Good, because what's happened during this period of miseducation is the deterioration of institutions, and schools and universities, but the deterioration of the greatest institution in human life, and that's the family. And so what we're saying at Heritage in this landmark study we released a few days ago, Vince,
Starting point is 00:41:17 is that in addition to very important cultural, economic, social factors that play into someone's decision about whether they will be married and if so, if they will have children, is a set of government policies at the federal level that have disincentivized marriage and childbirth. What we're arguing, bottom- online at Heritage is that we want to invert those policies and actually eliminate those disincentives
Starting point is 00:41:42 and use a couple of tax credits to incentivize what we think will be a modest uptick in marriage and birth. If we do that, and if we see an improvement in those even more important factors of cultural, society, and economics, I think we can see a reversal in this downward trend of the American family. I mean, marriage and having married parents, they really are the kind of the single biggest indicator of whether or not a country succeeds. And anyone is taking any look at this at all. It's like, it's like, you know, the social science on this, the economic science on this, is if you're born, if your child born to a family with a single mother, for instance,
Starting point is 00:42:17 your chances of being in poverty are very high. And especially if you start in poverty, your chances of staying there are sky high. But if you're in the lowest quintile, for instance, if you're a poor child, poor family, but you have two married parents, your chances of making it to the highest quintile, the top 20% of the country are even odds. You have very high odds of making it there. And it's all dependent on whether or not you have married parents.
Starting point is 00:42:41 It really seems like one of the most important ingredients to our country's success. It is the single greatest indicator of stability and success. In fact, to your point about the research, all of the social science research from the leaning politically left, leaning politically right, all of it bears that out.
Starting point is 00:43:02 And it reminds me of one of the studies that former education secretary Bill Bennett made, who was trying to get at with some great research. You know, what are those factors that go into a poor child's success? And ultimately, what it boiled down to, it wasn't even the school that they went to, it wasn't after-school study to sort of improve someone's skills and something like math.
Starting point is 00:43:22 It was the fact that when that child woke up, regardless of how rich or poor his or her family was, that they woke up in a family. And that remains true. And so what we're saying at Heritage is, If in fact we want to expand upon what we truly believe can be the golden age of America and be successful with all of our policies at home and abroad, at the heart of that success moving forward, has to be the restoration of the American family.
Starting point is 00:43:46 And we're urging policymakers in Washington and in state capitals to participate in this restoration. I told the story, and perhaps I've told you this too before, but I told the story on the air recently about my late grandmother just passed away a couple years ago. wonderful woman deeply religious a great Catholic and her name's Mildred and she told me I asked her years ago just as a as a teenager I was hearing I was listening to talk radio and I hear about like
Starting point is 00:44:15 how social security was like out of money and it was like completely run like an idiotic operation which of course it is and I said to her I was like do you ever worry that you're not going to get your social security check and she responded why would I worry I've got nine children and I thought ever since then I never stopped thinking about that.
Starting point is 00:44:33 And I was reminded, and I'm just constantly reminded of it, that there was a time in our history where, insofar as we were dependent, we weren't dependent on the government almost at all. We were dependent on each other. Like if you had some sort of emergency that required a babysitter, you had a family member who probably lived next door to you, or maybe lived in your house who could watch the kid. Or you have a pet situation.
Starting point is 00:44:53 You have a family member, somebody nearby. That was the country that I think people remember, but in many ways no longer exists. exists because of the government dependence and the attack on family that you're talking about. No, it's true in the same way that politics has replaced religion for so many leftist Americans. The government has replaced the institution of the family for so many Americans. And so our argument at Heritage is we ultimately have to focus on those factors that are upstream of politics and policies, culture, society, economics.
Starting point is 00:45:26 But that downstream of them have been some government policies that actually have changed behavior. And so let us have the boldness, let us frankly have the hopefulness about the future that through a couple of tax credits that we can amplify some of the decisions that Americans want to make to restore that beautiful image that you mentioned. It doesn't ultimately mean that every woman needs to say, we're going to have nine children or any specific number of children. As much as an institution, we want the American family to be revitalized. Yeah, yeah. I guess if there's anything, and I don't know if you feel this way, but if there's anything that might give you hope through all of this crisis, our country is going through.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Oftentimes it's these moments of crisis where people are reminded of the eternal truths. Because I don't know, the people I run into in my life, I do feel like are more spiritual now than they've ever been. People are thinking more sincerely about what it's all about, what it means. And I do think that there are some people who are going back to church now. So maybe something good can come of all of this, Kevin. I think so. I mean, you and I both know because of our shared faith,
Starting point is 00:46:28 that where evil exists, where challenges exist, there's always at least a commensurate amount of good. The question for us as Americans is, what are we going to do about the opportunity in addition to what we do about the challenges? And at Heritage, I'm so proud of my colleagues for seizing upon this moment, surely filled with a lot of challenges, long-running patterns like we've talked about regarding the family, some short-term problems in Minnesota, hopefully short-term. But we have to have answers to take advantage of the opportunity, which exists because the American people are hopeful about the future in spite of the present day. And we have to be brave.
Starting point is 00:47:06 We must. And we have to pray for courage and light. The light to know the way, the courage to take it. Kevin Roberts, thank you, sir, for your time and your great work at Heritage. Good to talk to you today. Thanks, my friend. Take care. There is Dr. Kevin Roberts.
Starting point is 00:47:18 Nice to chat with him today. I mean, the family thing really does come. I'm obsessed with this issue because I do feel like it is right there at the core. of how we fix all of this. I mean, how often do you turn on the news and you see this chaos, like places like Minneapolis and you're like, oh, yeah, those people have healthy family lives.
Starting point is 00:47:35 Oh, yeah, those people, the people were flipping cars and tying tow ropes to weapons, safes, and the backs of cop cars and stealing all of their documents and attacking police officers. Oh, yeah, I'm sure they've got a very healthy family life. That's probably what's going on. No, no, there's, there, these are a lot of tortured people
Starting point is 00:47:55 with some sort of trauma going on that they're just manifesting on the rest of us. We need to put an end of that. That needs to stop. So we need to crack down on the lawlessness. We need to invoke the Insurrection Act. We need to arrest the bad guys. We need to stop the weak leaders
Starting point is 00:48:09 who are making this fester or fermenting it outright. We need to arrest people like Tim Walls and Jacob Frey. If they're running a foul of federal law, arrest them for it. Impose consequences. But simultaneously, we need a restoration
Starting point is 00:48:22 of the American family. We need a restoration. of the most important institution. The most important governing unit of our entire culture is the family. In a restoration of that. Stop grooming the children. Stop that. Let's start taking care of them and raising them right.
Starting point is 00:48:44 Okay. Let's see. I've got, well, we've got a lot going on here. We have a lot going on here in this country. It is, you know, so that happens overnight. Did you see all this stuff out of Iran? I'll just mention in brief. I went to bed last night thinking,
Starting point is 00:49:01 are we going to be doing some more missile strikes in Iran? Are things going to get crazy? Well, President Trump kind of indicated yesterday that he says the Iranian government has stopped, at least for now, killing protesters. Now, we've heard the reports are all over the place. And I don't, candidly, I don't even really know what to believe coming out of Iran right now. They shut down Internet access for the whole country. You know, sometimes getting casualty numbers or death numbers.
Starting point is 00:49:27 Like, you know, like remember the Gaza health ministry was giving casualty numbers out of Gaza? And you're like, well, the Gaza health ministry, what are you talking about? That's run by Hamas. I was supposed to trust the specific numbers. It's difficult work. But regardless, there's no question. There's absolute chaos going on in Iran right now. Protesters are taking to the streets, holding up signs, calling on President Trump to intervene,
Starting point is 00:49:48 to fight back against the ruling regime. The government buildings set on fire. Lots of people, I think, getting killed. That's the reporting on the subject. and even some executions that were planned for this week, that for now, President Trump says, have been forestalled, that his administration is in negotiation with the Iranian regime, however that takes place, and for now, Iran is playing ball for now.
Starting point is 00:50:14 There was an effort to try and evacuate American military bases in the region last night, specifically in Qatar, and then once President Trump indicated that actually things are settling up with Iran, at least for the moment, then the evacuation order was reportedly reversed. So this thing is ebbing and flowing right now. But we're keeping an eye on it. But I did. I was lying down last night.
Starting point is 00:50:40 I was like, man, I'm going to wake up tomorrow. We're going to have a full-blown Iran show on our hands, depending on what happens there. But it turns out it's a domestic show because we've got a crazy, crazy insurrection going on in Minneapolis. Now, yesterday morning, just like every morning, not every morning, but a lot of mornings, including this morning. I got a call from my great White House correspondent Reagan Reese. We always try and go over questions for the president of the United States, things to ask him. And yesterday I had, as I recalled, I had two big questions that jumped right to the top of my head yesterday morning. And I said, would you ask him about this new assistant attorney general to investigate fraud?
Starting point is 00:51:18 I want to know whether or not we're going to get to the bottom of the fraud nationwide and how, quickly that'll happen. Where is this guy? Because we're expecting a nomination. We haven't had it yet. And so Reagan did ask President Trump yesterday about this new assistant AG and the president tipped his hand a little bit. Take a look. Cut one. A new assistant attorney general position dedicated to rooting out fraud. Yeah, he's fantastic. The person is fantastic. Who is it? It's a he. I will tell you maybe within minutes. I mean, I don't know if it's appropriate to say yet because we're going through a process. But We have chosen a person who's very tough, very smart, very fair.
Starting point is 00:51:59 We've chosen a person who's very tough, very smart, very fair. We're going to be announcing him soon. He said maybe in a couple of seconds, that didn't happen right away. There must be some sort of process the White House is undertaking. But let's go. Let's get this person out there. We need to get after them. Mago for Life 923 goes, Vince, ask the Insurrection Act question to Reagan.
Starting point is 00:52:18 Hey, Maga for Life. I got you covered. Easy now. I already talked to Reagan this morning. Yes, we talked. talked about the insurrection act we'll see you know there's an art to these questions sometimes you got to figure out a way to strategically ask which questions you know you're going to get some some of it's like kind of reading the room what mood is the president in how
Starting point is 00:52:35 basically the top priority is how can you get valuable information out to the public so we'll see i'll leave it to reagan in terms of which questions she's asking but i believe me brought up the insurrection act it was like first thing this morning she called me she's like what do you think and i was like got this insurrection act thing president trump's all over on a true social. And he's talked about it a lot. What is it going to take for them to finally do it? What threshold are you waiting for, Mr. President? So we'll see. That's definitely on the menu today. So there's President Trump. They need to get this guy in there quickly. He says he's great. I hope that means he's cutthroat. I hope that means he's going to come in and just start slicing
Starting point is 00:53:15 throats. Like we're taking down fraudsters left and right. Please get this person in fast. and then there is then there's this issue there was something oh Politico had a report this week Politico which of course meant instantly I wasn't sure
Starting point is 00:53:33 if it was real or not but I'm concerned about it Politico reported that the Trump administration quietly quotation marks in the air quietly restored Planned Parenthood funding
Starting point is 00:53:48 to the tune of millions that they had taken away from Planned Parenthood and Title 10 funding, Title 10. And they did that in December that HHS had done that. That doesn't sound good to me. Under no circumstances should your tax dollars or my tax dollars be going to killing babies. It shouldn't be happening. And certainly not be given to an organization that kills babies at scale.
Starting point is 00:54:15 But en masse. No, of course not. Not a single dime to those demons. No. And so you get a story that says, oh, they've got some money back. Well, what's that about? Is that true? Who came to that decision?
Starting point is 00:54:29 So, again, I was curious. Reagan asked. Reagan asked the president of the United States yesterday, and hopefully the head of HHS, RFK Jr. was standing right behind him. Listen to this. This interested me. I didn't realize both of them seemed completely caught off guard by the topic itself.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Listen, cut three. Watch. It's being reported that health and human services released frozen funds to Planned Parenthood. I'm wondering why this happened and why Planned Parenthood is receiving any federal funds. I don't know anything about that. Bobby, do you know anything about it? What is the question? It's being reported that frozen funds were released to Planned Parenthood in December by AJS. I'm wondering why that happened.
Starting point is 00:55:11 I have not heard that. Mr. President. I have not heard that. I have not heard that. Now, I don't think either of those men are like lying or anything. I think they were genuinely surprised by that item and didn't know what she was even referring to. But we got some more information yesterday afternoon about this. This comes to us from the Daily Signal reporter Elizabeth Troutman Mitchell.
Starting point is 00:55:37 And I'm keeping an eye on this because I don't want to see a single dime go to the baby killers. I don't know about you. Here's what the headline says. why Trump's HHS did give Planned Parenthood tens of millions in funding back. And there's an explanation for this. The explanation that Daily Signal gives us is that apparently it was a tactical retreat designed to make it so that the administration can cut even more funding from Planned Parenthood. It's a legal battle, in other words.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Here's what they got. Political reported that the ACLU on Monday dropped its lawsuit against the Trump administration after HHS quietly released tens of millions of dollars in Title X family planning funds to plan parenthood and other clinics. The move sparked widespread outrage from pro-life conservatives, rightfully so. The ACLU, joined by the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, had sued the administration over what they called unlawful withholding of more than $65 million in Title 10 grants. But the agency may have had no choice but to restore funding, to Tom McCluskey, who's a veteran pro-life operative and the director of the government affairs
Starting point is 00:56:47 operation at Catholic vote. The agency withheld the funds before amending 42 U.S. Code Part 300, a rule which governs family planning grants. McCluskey told the Daily Signal, quote, the Trump administration was virtually certain to lose the lawsuit, forcing them to repay the full amount plus interest and then cover attorney's fees. Even worse, continuing the litigation would have any future funding cuts, which are highly likely under the new regulations in prolonged court battles before an unsympathetic judge. A former senior Trump official told the Daily Signal, the administration will now be in a better position to defund Planned Parenthood.
Starting point is 00:57:29 Quote, HHS was caught in a tough spot because the judge was almost certainly going to rule against them, and they would have had to restore the funding under Biden-era rules, possibly with interest and attorney's fees on top of that. With the case dismissed, the administration has far greater ability to cut Planned Parenthood funds under Trump-era rules. And that will be the true test of the president's promise to end taxpayer funding of the abortion industry. All right. This is one of those things. It's like, okay, okay, I'll take it as an explanation.
Starting point is 00:58:06 They say this is a big, this is a tactical retreat by the Trump administration. It came down to the lawyers in the Trump administration, HHS, DOJ, making a decision saying, okay, we just have to back off for now. They get access to that funding for a moment. But we are using this as a predicate to cut even more. Planned Parenthood, by the way, should not receive a dime. Plan Parenthood should not receive a dime from any kind of operation in our federal government. Every single dollar needs to be cut. And by the way, they don't just abort baby.
Starting point is 00:58:42 they also inject children and humans full of all sorts of cross-sex hormones. I think are the number one provider of cross-sex hormones in the country? Yeah. Planned parenthood. Yeah. So they need to not exist is what needs to happen. And certainly not with any of our tax dollars. So we will stay vigilant to the story. We'll keep an eye on it.
Starting point is 00:59:06 I see that this will be the, quote, true test of the president's promise to end taxpayer funding of the abortion industry. Good. We'll keep tracking it. By the way, President Trump has had more success as a pro-life president than any president of our lifetimes. That's just true. He got Rovi Wade overturned.
