Starting point is 00:01:59 comes to us from the U.S. attorney out of Los Angeles, Bill Assaley, who had this to say. He said that the FBI has arrested four alleged members of a radical pro-Palestinian left-wing current thing group that's been accused of plotting New Year's Eve bombings. New Year's Eve bombings. And the name of this group is the Turtle Island Liberation Front. That's what they're calling this thing. If you've never heard this expression before, it's because you live in the world of sanity and rationality, but left-wing radicals refer to the United States, you know, the country in which you live. They call it Turtle Island, and they claim this is an indigenous term in that you and I have stolen this land. It was just one big turtle, or it was someplace
Starting point is 00:02:46 where turtles lived, and we ruined it. We've just wrecked the whole thing. They call it Turtle Island. So they have this organization called Turtle Island Liberation Front, TILF. What's a TILF? terrorist I'd like whatever anyway the point is telph is a thing and they're an extremist group and the FBI busted these guys um the feds take a look here at cut five the feds describing what they've busted look at this so um as I mentioned in my talking points on December 12th a group of individuals again members of this uh this uh anti-government group traveled out to the desert to test their explosive devices they had precursor chemicals there and they were going to
Starting point is 00:03:29 create these bombs in the desert. What they are starting to do is put their chemicals and wares and the components out on the table there. This footage that you're watching is from our surveillance plane and then what happened after this
Starting point is 00:03:47 is the Los Angeles FBI SWAT team along with the FBI's hostage rescue team moved in and arrested all four subjects without incidents. They had a surveillance plane hovering over these idiots as they gathered in the Mojave Desert. We're going to practice with our bombs. No, they watched every step of the way.
Starting point is 00:04:07 The feds did. They got a hold of this thing. They sent people in. They arrested everybody. And that's great news. The plan, apparently, was they wanted to create these improvised explosive devices. They had already been building them. And then target five separate locations all across Los Angeles.
Starting point is 00:04:23 And they were testing these explosive devices. And the feds caught them. which is great. The mugshots are as exactly what you'd expect. Crazy-eyed leftists. The four defendants arrested from the Turtle Island Liberation Fund case made their initial appearances in court yesterday. All four defendants remain in federal custody.
Starting point is 00:04:44 They'll be arraigned in early January of 2026. Fellas, can we pull up some of the mugshots here? I want everyone on video to see this, rumble.com slash Vince. And by the way, while you're here and while you're waiting for the mugshot to be pulled up, please like and subscribe to all of this. so I can serve you more left wingers getting busted. Look at this chick. She looks a little surprise that she got caught.
Starting point is 00:05:05 She's, this is her F-Oing after F-Aing. What else do we got? Holy crap. Look at, don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes. You can fire from the moon at this dude. Look at that guy. Holy shit. That guy, he's got the look, ladies and gentlemen.
Starting point is 00:05:22 For those of you just listening, we have a dude here, long hair, pale as anything. eyes so stinking wide it's unreal he's he looks shocked actually i would describe him as as looking shocked somebody said he has uh he has uh he has drug eyes meth eyes crack eyes i'm not sure meth i anyway there he is it looks like they slammed his face into the ground or something he's got a cut on his lip uh and is that a nose ring or a nose bleed he's got something going on anyway that's uh he's a lefty i know who he voted for who else do we got we got this guy a little hard to see on video it looks like his cheeks her a little rosy i don't think he's he's having a good time and then we've got this chick we've
Starting point is 00:06:01 got so the asian chick that they captured at the end she looks like she's got a lip ring and everything she looks like she's a psychopath like she's enjoying all of this you know she kind of looks like the ringleader honestly like she's just having a great time anyway so they caught all these these uh these people and uh that's great news so thank you to the fbi a little bit of a Christmas gift for us as they stop a terrorist attack on Los Angeles by these idiots and it really is always in the eyes can't you tell you can tell that's a real thing you can see somebody you're like I know I know what this is I know you're a psycho holy cat dude adjusted please we put this back up on screen that
Starting point is 00:06:45 that oh my goodness I can't even I can't even believe this is real. Yes, I can't. You know what this reminds me of? This is like all the Antifa people. You remember all the Antifa people? They were busting in 2020. All these arrests and everybody had crazy colored hair.
Starting point is 00:07:04 But they all had the same sort of crazy eyes. Like somebody drugged them out and sent them out in the street to commit crimes. That's what that guy looks like. Anyway, pray for them. Pray for them. In our country. So Turtle Island Liberation Front gets busted. Thank you to the feds for capturing these guys.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Great work by the FBI. which is wonderful speaking of FBI investigations the Brown University investigation continues we're trying to get the suspect they haven't caught the suspect yet but authorities did release more images of the suspect and it looks like a dude he's dressed in all black he's got a mask on he's wandering around outside of Brown University captured on surveillance footage from various like ring doorbell cameras and things here's some images cut six of the suspect meandering about higher quality images finally released but are we any closer to catching this guy look how fat he is he's got a buda belly he's walking around he's got his
Starting point is 00:08:05 hands behind his back people are trying to read into that like as if that's some sort of cultural thing maybe it is uh not clear there's still a bunch of reports out there that he screamed alahu akbar as he went into the classroom and opened fire on brown university this weekend uh killing two and injuring so many others and but but to this point we still don't have authorities giving us the details they're still not telling us what exactly happened here which is the most frustrating thing imaginable like why can't you tell us anything you're not going to tell us what he yelled don't you think it'd be helpful if they told us what he yelled inside the classroom maybe it would help us track the guy down oh i know a guy who has that thought oh yeah he looks like jim or mohammed or whatever
Starting point is 00:08:48 but nothing they're just they're really holding back on you and the the mayor continues the idiotic providence rhode island mayor continues to say without any evidence whatsoever that the city is completely safe oh you the city's safe i'm sorry what you haven't caught the suspect what are you talking about how can you say the city is safe cut nine here's mayor smiley the moron who runs providence rott island watch intelligence led you to believe that there was no further threat to the community today additional evidence can you just expand upon that to the same it's the same as yesterday which is ever since 405 on Saturday there which was the when the first call came into Brown there's been no new credible specific threat anywhere in
Starting point is 00:09:38 the Providence community with respect mayor there was no threats made prior to the shooting so how can people feel safe with that information the way in which we are trying to reassure our residents is through a noted visible police presence throughout the community she's totally right what an insane thing to say well there's there have been known other known threats made to the community the dude who shot up the classroom never made a threat until he walked in and started firing the gun what are you even talking about why do you say words if they're going to be utterly useless. I get it.
Starting point is 00:10:17 You want to try and ensure the community that you're taking this seriously. Well, then say that. We're taking it seriously. What are you doing to take it seriously? We've deployed more cops. We're trying to protect the community. Okay. But don't lie to people. Oh, it's totally safe. There's no threat. There's nothing to worry about. What the frig are you talking
Starting point is 00:10:33 about? You don't know anything. You don't know anything. You don't even have this guy in custody. They told us a little bit more in the last 24 hours about the gun. They said it was a 9mm. It sounds like a handgun. uh yeah so okay so we're learning that now it's not going to stop the left's desire for gun control they're going to still push to try and disarm you of rifles it doesn't even matter if a rifle was used in the attack they'll try and disarm you anyway and to that we say go to hell you're not disarming us but that is the way they always try and exploit this the mayor of providence already
Starting point is 00:11:04 said that 48 hours ago now right after the attack he said you know we got to start disarming people Australia saying the same thing in the wake of their horrific terror attack this past weekend. We had to disarm people even more. How about no? How about stop disarming people? How about making it so that people can defend themselves so these massacres don't get this bad? They don't become massacres. They get stopped before they do.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Man, the left is always on the march. Every, never let a crisis go to waste. There's the old Rahm Emanuel adage. Never let a crisis go to waste. Crisis happens. They take advantage of it to put you into even deeper crisis. No. No.
Starting point is 00:11:42 So there you have the mayor of Providence, Rhode Island, still has no idea what's going on, promising that the city is safe. And they're not telling you anything. They don't tell you what the guy shouted. They don't tell you who the first person was who was killed. Who were they targeting? Even the president of the United States doesn't, you know, he doesn't know the answers to these questions yet.
Starting point is 00:12:00 And this brings us to yesterday at the White House, our very own Reagan Reese, my White House correspondent, was there asking a bunch of questions that you and I really would. like some answers to. And thank God for her because she was there to talk to the president. The president called on her a bunch of times, which is great. And yesterday, she asked, has the FBI told you at all, Mr. President, why it is hard to identify this shooter? Cut seven, take a look at this. Well, it's always difficult. So far, we've done a very good job of doing it with Charlie, with, you know, the various times this has happened. They've done it in pretty much record time.
Starting point is 00:12:38 But you'd really have to ask the school a little bit more about that because, you know, this was a school problem. They had their own guards, they had their own police, they had their own everything. But you'd have to ask that question, really, to the school, not to the FBI. We came in after the fact, and the FBI will do a good job, but they came in after the fact. The FBI will do a good job. They came in after the fact. In other words, the president's saying, look, the school. school really screwed up here where that where are all the camera angles on this where's where i mean
Starting point is 00:13:13 they don't have cameras protecting the kids on campus like just surveillance cameras everywhere i go i see surveillance cameras you see this all over the place now they're everywhere i mean it's not like we it was when we were kids you know like a surveillance camera you might have it outside of a bank or something but you didn't have cameras everywhere now we have cameras everywhere you tell me they're not on brown i see reports that they have hundreds of cameras around brown and yet no useful footage at all What is this insanity? And so the president's kind of stick in the investigative blame directly at the source of the problem right now, which is Brown University.
Starting point is 00:13:46 But is the FBI doing anything in the midst of all this? Yeah, they're helping. The FBI director, Cash Patel posted this last night to social media. He said, we got an update for you on what's going on the Brown University shooting. At this time, the FBI does continue to act in an assisting role with the Providence Police Department leading the investigation. We will continue providing all assets, resources, personnel. necessary to support. We sent additional resources and personnel earlier today. That would have been Monday to help track down leads, campus, neighborhoods, and develop intelligence. Our evidence response
Starting point is 00:14:18 team remains on campus processing the scene, and our lab at Quantico is assisting as well. That's where they're going to handle ballistics and things. Everything, anything Rhode Island authorities need from this FBI will be there. And he said the FBI and partners have released the new photos that we just saw that, right? We saw the video that I showed you on screen. The FBI is also offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification arrest and conviction of the individual. And he gives the number 1-800 call FBI, 1-800 call FBI or tips.fbi.gov. Most importantly, please continue praying for Brown University, the victims in this horrible tragedy and all of their families and friends. All right, so that's the that's the readout from the
Starting point is 00:15:00 FBI. In other words, are they on this? Yeah, they're on it. But the answers, again, continue to be thin this is and so and so am i dissatisfied yet totally totally we saw a young woman and a young man gone down in cold blood inside of that classroom and plenty of speculation continues to rage that she was targeted because ella cook because she is the vice president of the college republicans vice president of the college republicans now having said that i was sent um i was sent a tweet this morning by the great producer jim verde and this comes to us from a woman called Catherine Boyle talking about Ella
Starting point is 00:15:38 and the loss of Ella and here's what she had to say Catherine Boyle had to say she said this is tragic on so many levels but one of the saddest parts of this is how increasingly rare a young woman like Ella is. Look at Ella look how beautiful she is pretty girl
Starting point is 00:15:53 gunned down in the prime of her life young conservative and she says this about Ella it's always been uncommon for a beautiful southern and serious conservative Christian to leave her family and knowingly go to the most extreme bastion of what she disagrees with at brown university in ron island not to evangelize or provoke but to merely exist as a counter to the dominant culture but it's becoming even more rare and with good reason decades ago young woman like her would have
Starting point is 00:16:21 only had to worry about social ostracism or overzealous professors holding her views and differences against her there was a cost to go into the ivy league as an openly conservative outsider but that cost was mostly intellectual and social endure it and it would make you stronger and you'd become fluent in the ways of two worlds yeah this makes sense by the way i'm guessing there's probably people that are in our audience right now who are listening to this going yeah that's me yeah i'm a conservative went to a left wing campus i endured that world i learned a lot about the way they think and now i can kind of operate between these worlds there are people who do this but it's it's a challenge it's a challenge now young men and women like ella know that they can be killed for their political beliefs on a college campus even if they're not provocateurs or influencers or public officials just normal young people participating in a student club she goes on she says i have so much admiration for 20 somethings now the courage they need to speak up is real they're stronger than previous generations and they're asked to sacrifice more and the older generations are failing them she says pray for ella and her family the world lost someone of virtue who knew the stakes and paid an extraordinary price for openly stating sincere beliefs you know as parents you send your kids away you watch your kids leave go off to school and you have so much sadness parents have about watching their kid leave and they think well i'm entering a new phase of our lives this is the phase where they're gone they're they're out of the house they're on their
Starting point is 00:17:59 own they're doing their thing and you worry about the decisions they're going to make you worry if you've prepared them well you're you're thinking through like is this are they ready for this but you probably comfort yourself or at least have in the past to some degree knowing well they're with a lot of other young people they're in a student environment they're going to continue to grow together and you just pray that they succeed in that environment under those circumstances but just you know some of you may be experiencing this now but just I mean just imagine what it must be like now especially if you have a young conservative you're sending off the college to a distant place and we live in a world now where you have left-wing assassins
Starting point is 00:18:42 who are openly calling for the death of and acting on bringing about the death of young conservatives like Ella now we're waiting still to to find out more about who the suspect is and his motivations, but there's no question. He killed her. He killed her. And it's led a lot of people to conclude pretty rapidly that the threat to people on the right continues and that LMA may have been a victim of a left-wing terrorism operation. And whether or not she was, this is a reminder that we live in a world where there's too many lefties who have ascribed to assassination culture. Way too many. Charlie Kirk was the victim of it. President Trump was almost the victim of it multiple times and so this is why our fighting for our country matters so much we need a
Starting point is 00:19:33 world where we have high social trust where we can send our kids off to college with an expectation they're actually going to get an education in a place where they'll be safe where they can succeed and flourish we shouldn't have to fear that we're sending our kid off to a war zone we shouldn't have to fear that their life may be on the line just for them to receive an education and so as we go into christmas and as we elevate our prayers to the lord above pray for the family of ella and pray for our country and continue to fight for it uh i know you will we have the best audience anywhere so i know you will all right more in a moment um i want to get into the other answers from the president of the united states yesterday um we uh we've got like i said Reagan reese our white
Starting point is 00:20:19 House correspondent was asking President Trump a bunch of questions yesterday, including about the blue slips in the Senate, the fact that they still have blue slips blocking accountability for left-wingers who are committing all sorts of crimes in our country. And also, here's a basic question. Why do we have troops in Syria? I asked this yesterday on our show, and then Reagan Reese asked it directly to the president of the United States. I've got all of that coming up on this edition of events. Also, Congressman Andy Biggs will join us coming up in mere moments. Starting point is 00:22:13 We got an update yesterday from the United States government, from the Trump administration, about the soldiers who were just killed in that terror attack in Syria by ISIS. By the way, speaking to ISIS, that's also who's being blamed for the terror attack in Australia, to be clear. And here's the update from the Trump administration yesterday. Officials have named these soldiers who were killed in the terrorist ambush. Those soldiers are Sergeant Edgar Brian Torres Tovar, 25 years old, young man of Des Moines, Iowa. and Sergeant William Nathaniel Howard, 29 years old, of Marshalltown, two Iowa boys.
Starting point is 00:22:55 And that's according to a Monday press release from the Army Public Affairs Office just released. Those of you watching, rumble.com slash vans. You can see their images on screen. Both of these men's lives taken far too soon in an ambush terror attack. Both guards have been dying on Saturday of injuries sustained while engaged with hostile forces, according to the release. the service members, they say, were conducting a key leader engagement. Key leader engagement in support of counterterrorism operations in the region. That's according to Sean Parnell.
Starting point is 00:23:26 You know him. He's now the chief Pentagon spokesman. The Army press release stated the guards were engaged in assignments related to Operation Inherent Resolve, a combined joint task force aimed at countering ISIS and other terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq. Okay. Okay. So now the president has promised forceful retaliation as a result of all of this. And that's good. We should retaliate against terrorists and these organizations if they even dare touch a hair on the heads of our Americans. But the question still persists. Why are we there? Why are we in Syria? So yesterday, Reagan, our own Reagan, Rees, asked President Trump this very question. Cut 10. Take a listen to the president's answer. Why are we in Syria right now? Trying to make sure that there's going to be and remain peace in the Middle East, and Syria is a big part of it. The new leader is a strong person, and that's what you need.
Starting point is 00:24:24 This is a rough part of the world, and we've, it's been amazing what's taken place in Syria. We got rid of Assad, we got rid of other people that were really bad people, and that we're in the way of peace in the Middle East. You know, we have legitimate peace in the Middle East, first time in 3,000 years. And we have 59 countries backing it. So his answer is the reason we've got guys that are peace in the Middle East. Now, you heard him say something in that answer that made me think even more that we just need to get the troops out of there. He said the president of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharah, is strong and he's very committed to peace in his country. Well, if that's the case, let him deal with it.
Starting point is 00:25:09 If that's the case, let Syria deal with its ISIS problem. And why don't we get the hell out of there? I haven't heard anybody offer a good justification for why our guys need to stay there. The president obviously saying that he wants peace in the Middle East, that's a noble goal. I want that too. But again, this comes down to core points, which is what is directly in the American interest, what serves us, and why are we putting American blood on the line? as Americans we need a really good rationale for that and if we don't have one get them out of there please mr president get these guys out of that region there's no reason for them to be attacked like this
Starting point is 00:25:47 and now their families are not going to have them come home and um and maybe perhaps i don't know i don't know what the families feel i can't imagine what they're dealing with but just from from my distance i see this and go i don't want them to be in that situation are there going to be terrorists throughout the world no matter what we do yeah the answer to that is yes there's always going to be terrorism and we need to do the best we can to put it out snuff it out but at the same time why put our guys on the line so you know unless we have some phenomenal rationale that the american public wants to sign up for let's get them out of there let's do them also the uh the president of the united states um talked a little bit about uh the midterms yesterday he said he's going to work really
Starting point is 00:26:28 hard to make the midterms a referendum on his presidency cut three here's the president with what I think is a very smart strategy. Watch this. The whole election, and, you know, it's interesting. When I'm not running, we don't do as well. And I'm going to try and get that change for the midterms. We had a great election. We won every single swing state.
Starting point is 00:26:50 We won the popular vote. We won everything. And there's a thing that they have in our districts, which is a big deal. I think in a way it's the most important stat from the standpoint of, you know, looking at numbers accurately. So out of thousands of districts, I won 2,750 versus 525.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Think of that. 2,750 versus 525. That's why the map, when you see a map of the election, it's all red other than two little narrow lines on the other side. Okay, here's the thing. President Trump says that he wants to make the mid-term. terms a referendum on him. He said that normally going into the midterms, you know, you don't have a president of the United States on the ballot, so it really affects whether or not people
Starting point is 00:27:45 actually show up the vote. In a President Trump's case, that's a huge deal because low propensity voters show up for Donald Trump, but they don't show up in other elections. This is why President Trump says next year, the midterms, need to be a referendum on him. And normally the media would be the ones saying this. Let's make it a referendum on Trump. Democrats would be saying that. a referendum on Trump because they think they can win on that basis and god willing that's how they operate i hope they do because president trump has a big opportunity here to bring people out to the polls and make it clear that if they want the trump agenda to continue and to grow they'll vote for him but one of the things he needs one of the pieces of support that he needs is he's got to get congress
Starting point is 00:28:26 to help him out he's got to get congress to help him out and that includes getting rid of the disastrous filibuster and blue slip in the United States Senate on that issue in a moment we'll speak to a member of Congress we'll get a his assessment but first let me see can I play a clip here Guy do you think that's possible okay good he said yes I can the president was asked about blue slips yesterday by our very own Reagan Reese should the Senate get rid of them are you going to bear down on them to make that happen cut one here's the president wants to get rid of blue slips? Will there be consequences for the Senate? Well, I think they should get rid of blue slips because as a Republican president, I am unable to put anybody in office having to
Starting point is 00:29:13 do with U.S. attorneys or having to do with judges. In other words, if you have one, not two, you don't need two, just one. If you have one Democrat senator, where we have a lot of them, you have one Democrat senator in a state, it is not possible to appoint because, because of blue slips. A judge, it's not possible to appoint a U.S. attorney. You see that happening. And I think it's a disgrace. I think blue slips are a disgrace. They've long since, I mean, they're not, they should not be relevant anymore. This is a different world that it was 15, 20 years ago. You know, that was a gentleman and gentlewoman world. This is a little bit different, unfortunately. Yeah, we're in a fight for our lives. It's time to get rid of the

Thank you, sir. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas, Vince. Great to be with you. The big thing that we've got coming, and I've been talking a lot about in the recent weeks, is we've got the midterms next year. And I happen to thank Congressman that the way that we can
Starting point is 00:33:07 see Republicans grow their margins in Congress, which is really critical to get the Trump agenda through, is if you actually do something worth voting for. And among those things, I know you're writing this week in a new op-ed on this subject. The United States Senate has some big things they've got to knock out. And I think they definitely include getting rid of the filibuster and getting rid of the blue slip. We don't have time to waste. What do you think, Congressman? I think you're exactly right. The blue slip and the current cloture rule, both they don't require virtually any work on the part of the minority to basically kill the agenda of the majority. And Donald Trump was given a mandate, in my opinion, by the American people. He, this.
Starting point is 00:33:52 He had the biggest victory in a long, long time. He took all the battleground states, and the House has done okay, not great, but okay, getting a lot of his agenda through. Then he gets to the Senate and it just gets stuck there or else the Senate leadership on the Republican side, they actually capitulate to demands made by the minority because that's the way the cloture and the veto process works. and Vince, that it will not get the agenda through. And if you can't get your agenda through, quite frankly, low propensity voters who don't pay much attention anyway,
Starting point is 00:34:28 and even people who regularly get out there say, why should I vote for the majority, the Republicans again, when they can't get the job done? And we can't get the job done because of arcane, Byzantine, anachronistic Senate rules. And that's those two rules, the cloture and the blue slip are killing us. So I get that there are still some Republicans who think that there's like some sort of good faith argument for holding on to some of this. Maybe those, but I think those are few and far between. What I'm really bugged by congressman is it feels like that there are Republicans in D.C. in Congress who are perfectly comfortable with sabotaging the president's agenda. Like so for instance, like three things jump to mind immediately.
Starting point is 00:35:14 One of them is the filibuster gets maintained, the silent filibuster, the cloture vote that you just referred to in the Senate. And they won't kick it down in order to get the Trump agenda through, despite the fact that they're all aware Democrats intend to do it anyway the second they get power. They won't get rid of the blue slip, which allows Adam Schiff to have vetoes over who gets to be U.S. attorney in California, which is crazy. And the other thing is, like, they don't go into recess. So the president's got a recess appointment power. And the House and the Senate, the leadership of both the House and the Senate have made a decision, no, we're not going to go into an authentic recess, which would allow the president to get his people in place. And I get it. They keep saying like, look, we're approving tons of people. And the Senate is approving. They're confirming people. That's definitely happening. But the people that matter, the prosecutors and the judges right now, they're being blockaded by this corruption, Congressman. It drives people crazy. Yeah, it really does. And it actually, this is the problem with it too. events, it gives the minority the power over the majority. So we are, our constitution was designed for
Starting point is 00:36:19 obviously a religious and moral people, but it's also designed for the majority to get its will. And that's why, that's why voters just say, well, why bother? And there's so much that's misset about this stuff. For instance, if you eliminate the cloture rule, which takes down to simple majority to shut down a filibuster. What that does is everybody's to, you still keep the filibuster. It's a speaking filibuster. It's always been there.
Starting point is 00:36:47 But now they don't have to go speak. They just have to say, well, we're not going to vote to close up filibuster. So they can stay in their office, either with a blue slip or the cloture, and kill it. And if you get rid of it and get it down to 51 votes to close down to filibuster, then if you want to stop the majority's plan, you have to rise up off your behind, get out of your office and go down and speak on the floor and actually put some physical strength in there. And you know what happens? If you're convincing enough, then the bill gets changed. If not, then you can get your agenda through. And quite frankly, this is why
Starting point is 00:37:27 we have $38 trillion in national debt. It's why we have a failure to basically launch this agenda of President Trump is because of those rules. And this notion that, oh, we're doing this to save the institution. I get it. They say we're institutionalists. You're not saving the institution. You are creating and fomenting, not creating, but you are fomenting the uniparty, control over Washington, D.C.
Starting point is 00:37:56 And that's why lobbyists, bureaucrats, the media, they all are fine with keeping it exactly the way it is because that's what it is okay so here's here's something i'm sensing from some republicans in the senate unfortunately including people like chuck grassley i just played a clip from him the other day chuck rassely's been great on whistleblowers and transparency that's all wonderful uh but uh he said earlier this year that most of the american public doesn't even really know anything about the blue slip and he's a little surprised people are talking about it and then he said in reality it protects all of these states uh where the senators get to have this veto authority over U.S. attorneys.
Starting point is 00:38:36 It's just a very condescending assessment, one that's basically like, you know, we're a little annoyed that the American public found out the way the Senate operates. Is that really kind of one of the ways that people think in the Senate? They're annoyed that we're aware of how they're selling us out? Yeah. Look, they breathe a different air than the rest of the world breathes. Come on, you know that. They view themselves as all of them wake up and look in the mirror in the morning.
Starting point is 00:39:05 They say, this is the future president of the United States. And so they kind of have that attitude. But the problem with it is, of course, that you allow people who, you know, like in my state, you've got two Democrat senators, but the vast majority of the state's Republican. And we are sitting there with interim attorneys general. constantly in Arizona for literally years at a time. And this is a huge problem because it kills the consistency of public trust in public administration of the U.S. Attorney's Office for Arizona. So it's a problem. But yeah, it's rarefied air over there in the Senate, that's for sure.
Starting point is 00:39:51 Well, it sure seems like it. So what do you think the White House should do about this? you know the president has brought this up a bunch he keeps on indicating that he's annoyed by it i feel like he's not going the distance he's not he's not really going at john thune he's he still considers him a great man he's very complimentary of him but he keeps saying guys you got to get rid of the blue slip guys you got rid of the got got to get rid of the got to get rid of the at what point congressman do we move from simply friendly cajoling to saying this is existential to our free. Well, it needs to happen like yesterday. And the reason is because for any of this stuff to have an impact on the midterm election, and it is an existential threat, by the way, for two reasons. But if
Starting point is 00:40:40 President Trump really wants to get this done, he's going to have to go on the bully pulpit super hard like right now, Vince, because here's the two ways it's existential. Number one, you don't change, you don't get the agenda going. And if you don't get the agenda going, then you move to the second existential threat, and that is you lose the midterm. And quite frankly, if you lose the midterm, President Trump's last two years are over. Because the Democrats have already got their impeachment articles drafted. They're ready to go. And they believe that they're going to get the majority. That's how critical it is that the Senate Act. And then the other, the other aspect coming is, you know that the Democrats, they've already said they're going to eliminate the cloture rule
Starting point is 00:41:27 when this, next time they get the majority of the Senate. And if that happens, guess what? All of the policies change. You get Puerto Rico, you get Washington, D.C. as states, you get a U.S. Supreme Court that's packed and logged up with more than nine members. You change the very nature of the trajectory of this nation. Do you get the feeling that there are Republicans, colleagues of yours in either the House or Senate who prefer to be in the minority, who like not having the responsibility of the majority where you can actually affect change for the country, you can be held accountable. Like if you're in the minority, you get to be called congressman or senator and then you don't get to do anything. You have, you have excuses for,
Starting point is 00:42:11 well, we just get to complain. Are there people who like that? I got to believe that there are. Some people are very comfortable. I, you know, I was chair of the Freedom Caucus when we were in the minority before, and we pushed back everything. And I actually had, you know, we were asking for roll call votes on virtually everything we possibly could to slow them down, do everything we could to slow down their agenda. And I actually had Republicans come to me and tell me how irresponsible they thought that was. And so that's a crying shame to me because I believe that we shouldn't be in the minority. I believe that America is still a majority center right nation. And that means that you have to
Starting point is 00:42:51 do everything you can to preserve that center-right status, which means you have to keep the Republican majority in the House and the Senate and lay the Brown works for 2028. Because if you screw up 2026, guess what else is screwed up? The election of 2028, which is where a new president will be considered. You know, I've spent recent weeks and certainly all this year, I'm very grateful for a lot that the Trump administration has achieved. I mean, the border is secure at levels that I didn't even expect. And I definitely voted for. I'm super happy about that. They are deporting a lot. of people we're nearing in the vicinity of three million people either self-deported or physically deported from our country those are those are great and important numbers the president
Starting point is 00:43:30 is dealing with an economic hangover of the biden era that is still having real impacts on the american people that i think that they need to get really serious about i i wonder in addition to the accountability mission that you and i have been talking about what other priorities do you think congress needs to take up immediately in order to make a strong case for the midterms Well, you're going to have to do at least a couple of things. Number one is the health care issue because, and I'm not suggesting that you have to extend the subsidies, but you have to provide an alternative so that the vast majority of Americans have their premiums go down, they have better access to health care.
Starting point is 00:44:11 And you can do that by just creating a free market system that's separate and apart from Obamacare. to turn down a lot of the Obamacare regulations. But we have legislation to do it. I introduced legislation last week on it. I think we're going to be voting this week on a bill that's going to largely, I shouldn't say largely. It's going to make a difference. It will actually reduce premiums by about 12 percent, save $30 billion over 10 years. Now, that is just little bitty parts of what needs to be needs to happen. But that's a first step in a right direction. The second thing you have to do is you have to give a nod to creating affordability conditions.
Starting point is 00:44:56 And that means that you have to get the, it's all based on energy, quite frankly. If you can lower the energy costs, all of a sudden, everything else comes down by about 30 to 40 percent. That happens. Everything seems and is more affordable. And those two things alone will actually change whether Republicans win the midterms or lose the midterms. That's, it rests on those things right there. You know, the health care reform thing is a huge deal. I mean, just the core point about Obamacare,
Starting point is 00:45:24 Obamacare made health care prohibitively expensive. It's not the Affordable Care Act. It's the totally unaffordable act. You know, it's not even care. It's just a disaster. And so the big debate that you all in Congress have been having is how big is the cover-up going to be going forward? That's really fundamentally what the debate is. It's like, oh, these subsidies, subsidize what?
Starting point is 00:45:44 What do we need to subsidize? Oh, the extraordinarily high cost of health care. We're going to steal from the taxpayers in order to bring the price down and pretend like it's super cheap. It's not. It's a cover up orchestrated at my expense. Thanks a lot. So fixing that does seem like a critical issue. The thing I fear, Congressman, is that we're going to reach a level that we often reach with Republicans, right when it's near crossing the finish line, that the Republicans will chicken out and not actually repeal this thing in order to replace it with something that gets the government out of it and makes it more affordable and more efficient.
Starting point is 00:46:16 I'm always fearful of that, Vince. So that's why you're seeing, in my opinion, you're seeing this thing's kind of being double-tracked right now. The people who want to continue the subsidies. By the way, think of it this way. The socialism of this healthcare, Obamacare, it's not working out. So we're going to actually have to put another layer of socialism on top of that socialism to see if we can make it work better. That's really what you got going on. And so, but you got people over there.
Starting point is 00:46:45 And that's a separate track. The other track that we're trying to do is we're trying to build a track that the 335 million Americans can get out and actually have choices for reasonably priced health care. And basically, that means that you have to create a marketplace of insurance. Because the insurance in companies right now, there's so much fraud and deceit that goes on where people, they're literally, Vince, probably 15 million people at least on the subsidy side that don't even know that they're enrolled in a policy, an Obamacare policy. And the government, and they'll never know it because they won't get a bill, because the government sends that money directly to the insurance companies. These are the types of things that have got to be fixed.
Starting point is 00:47:36 If they're not fixed, the prices will remain high. Fraud will be, will remain rampant, and we'll lose that race. We'll lose the narrative. Do you like President Trump's plan? President Trump's plan, as I understand it is, stop sending all this money to the insurance companies. Instead, give it to Americans in the form of health savings accounts. So they can, they'll just, they'll get that money that's currently being directed directly into the coffers of the insurance companies. And instead, Americans can spend on health care expenses. Do you like this plan? I like it better than the current status quo. But what I would like better is if you, if you created a real personalized health account that allowed you, for instance, if you're a single guy, you get
Starting point is 00:48:18 20,000 bucks tax deductible. If you're a married couple, you get $50,000 tax deductible plus $20,000 for every kid. And you can go right into that savings account. You and I could donate, if we saw somebody that needed some help, we could donate money tax deductible in that account. And that way the government would save the money that they're paying to the insurance company and people would be able to get the same benefit that employers get. So an employer gets to write off that tax for the health care premium. Why not let the individual do the same? And that would actually lower premiums and help create the market
Starting point is 00:48:55 because you have to have some additional insurance products out there as well. Yes, that big time. All right. Congressman Andy Biggs, thank you as always. Appreciate all of our sincere conversations through the years. They're always great. appreciate you again today. Merry Christmas, sir. Merry Christmas, Vince. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:49:10 There's Congressman Andy Biggs. Thank you for his time today. And, you know, there's a big thing in politics in the House and the Senate. You're normally each body, the members are like, oh, I don't talk about the affairs of the other body. And then that's how they tap out of, like House members will often tap out of talking about the way the Senate conducts his business. Congressman Biggs by saying like, yeah, they should get rid of the filibuster in the blue slip. That's unusual. that's how crazy things are now that's unusual for a house member to do that and god bless him for doing it because he's totally right and you know just just say what's true just say it was true
Starting point is 00:49:45 we have a country worth saving so president trump wants to get rid of the blue slips jd vans wants to get rid of the blue slips there's a congressman big saying get rid of them also senator mark wayne mullen up until recently apparently was on board with keeping the filibuster in his own body and now he's he's come to his senses and he realizes wait a second this silent filibuster thing, it's wrecking our country and we don't have any time left. Cut two. Here's Senator Mark Wayne Mullen. Watch. There was a conversation that's taking place to say, well, maybe we don't do all the filibusters, but we just do it when it comes to appropriations. Well, that's where the policy is made to
Starting point is 00:50:23 appropriations. Anyways, I think that's a sound policy for us to have a serious conversation about because we only have three years here. And the president is laser focused on setting a foundation for the golden age to be rushing in. We know they're not interested in it. So we need to do it by ourselves. And so my position on the filibuster has changed. My position on the filibuster has changed. Well, that's what I call progress. But look, the only way we're going to get more progress is if you keep browbeating your Republican senator to change everything, there's no time to waste. And a lot of this, and as I mentioned with the congressman, a lot of this comes down to There are people in Congress who are very content with not changing anything,
Starting point is 00:51:09 not very content with not changing anything, especially things that they think that you don't know anything about. Like, who knows about the silent filibuster? Who knows about that? Who knows about the blue slip? Well, the reality is because we have to figure out what the hell is wrong with our country. A lot more of us are aware of this now than ever before. And so, yes, contact your senator and let them know, you know,
Starting point is 00:51:31 and that now's the time. they've got to save their country and they got to get rid of this garbage so there's uh there's there's there's some of it we'll keep uh we'll keep knocking on the doors here uh trying to fix things you know look if the left gets control again you understand what they're going to do with it you understand this if they get control it doesn't matter if republicans get rid of the filibuster now or not democrats will if they get control of the senate and if they can control both houses what's the plan the plan is to make puerto rico a state and get two democrat senators the plan is to make D.C. a state and get two Democrat senators.
Starting point is 00:52:05 There's some chatter about making Guam a state, a U.S. territory, making Guamma state and getting two Democrat senators. Their plan is to pad their numbers. Well, where else were they pad numbers? They want to pack the United States Supreme Court. They want to add justices to the court to permanently tear up what you and I know as the United States Constitution. That's their plan.
Starting point is 00:52:29 ladies and gentlemen the time is of the essence we don't have any opportunity here we have to act now and if they can control the house they want to impeach trump again now nancy pelosi who is retiring is aware that running as a democrat at this moment leading up to the midterms and admitting you want to impeach trump the voters don't love that they don't love it so she doesn't want to say that this is their plan it definitely is their plan But here's Nancy Pelosi doing an interview yesterday, cut four, pretending Democrats don't want to impeach Trump again, when, of course, it's all I fantasize about. Watch.
Starting point is 00:53:08 That's not an incidental thing you say, well, we're going to do that. No, there has to be cause. There has to be reason. We had review. This was a very serious, historic thing. And our founders knew that there could be a rogue president, and that's why they put impeachment in the Constitution. They didn't know there'd be a rogue president at the same. same time, a rogue Senate that didn't have the courage to do the right thing.
Starting point is 00:53:34 That's, it's bipartisan in the Senate, but it wasn't enough. You know, I love how she pretends. That clip has been going around the internet. It was like, Nancy Pelosi admits that President Trump hasn't done anything impeachable. And yeah, you could say that, but that's not the point of that clip. The point of that clip is her pretending like they don't have this aspiration to get rid of Trump, impeach him yet again that's her that's her playing a game of pretend because everything with her is fundamentally deceit in the service of her long-term power deceit in the service of by any means
Starting point is 00:54:11 necessary power for democrats so any word coming out of her mouth even if it was if she came out and she was complimenting trump today i would say she's lying there's a reason for this there's a purpose behind this and that's what she's doing again she's trying to downplay the left's desire for impeachment. And this is why you had Democrats. There were reports that they were upset with Sri Tendahar, that guy with the hilarious Indian accent who keeps trying to impeach Donald Trump and everybody around him. They're upset with him because he's making that play too early. He's trying to kick the field goal and they're not at the end of the field yet. So they're trying to stop him from doing that. He's stupid. It's not time for a turnover. We can't do that yet. They're trying to do
Starting point is 00:54:51 the same thing to people like Al Green. They're constantly trying to tamp this down. Like, don't let people know we're crazy don't let people know that we're trying to run this guy out of office pretend like we care about what's the word again affordability let's pretend like we care about that for now and by the time we get across the finish line after the midterms then it's weapons free we can do whatever we want after that that's their actual plan so there's nancy Pelosi pretending like they don't want to do it of course they do and as she goes out um one more thing for you Pelosi is upset that you prevented her. You should literally pat yourself on the back for this if you can.
Starting point is 00:55:34 Nancy Pelosi is whining that you prevented her from disarming you. Listen to this. Cut 11. Here's Nancy Pelosi complaining about the great regret of her career. My disappointment always haven't. I'll never give up on it is guns, a four-letter word, guns, guns. that children would be dying in a classroom that families are just just the saddest thing but it's about two things that politicians should think that their political survival is more
Starting point is 00:56:06 important than their survival of children and families in our country and that the gun industry I'm not talking about lobbyists here I'm talking about a gun industry with endless big money just deciding that they are going to have it their way at the cost of lives in our country so they can make a profit. And it's a global issue too. I mean, you understand that guns are very a border issue as well. They don't care.
Starting point is 00:56:38 They just care about making money. So it's money and power and kids pay the price and families pay the price. What a deceitful old hag. She's unreal. And of course, carrying a, about kids it's very rich coming from her she has worked feverishly to advance the abortion of a million babies a year in our country while simultaneously importing a far a million foreign nationals
Starting point is 00:57:03 into our country every year legally in addition to the many millions that she and her party have brought in illegally into our country the last people they care about are protecting children they imported children across our border who are immediately sold into both labor and sex slavery in the United States. Tens of thousands went missing. The Trump administration is recovering them. Some 60,000 or so. They have recovered these kids. That's what they're doing right now, cleaning up the evil mess that Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Democrats have created. So spare us the lectures. Oh, and by the way, we need guns to protect our children. She pretends like getting rid of law-abiding citizens' guns is going to somehow protect us. No, it's not. It's not going to
Starting point is 00:57:49 protect my family, which is why you're not taking my gun. As always, great to have you with us here on this edition of Vince. I'll be back with you tomorrow.
