Do that today. Message and data rates apply. Well, it is Columbus Day, and that's where I want to begin today.
Starting point is 00:02:53 the president of the United States in the White House, they released a statement to this effect, talking about the value of Columbus Day. And it's worth dwelling on because you and I live in a world where the left has done everything they can to diminish our national identity and our national heroes and the things that are supposed to bring us all together,
Starting point is 00:03:13 they often turn into the most divisive things. They demonize the very ground you stand on. They act like it's stolen and that you're not allowed to live here and that there's something bad and evil about you, I just reject that flatly. It is important that we dwell on our nation's heroes and our nation's history.
Starting point is 00:03:30 And that very much includes the voyage of Christopher Columbus, the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria back in 1492, eventually landing in this hemisphere and bringing with him an immense and historic civilization to this side of the planet. It really is an amazing story. And today, the president marks that occasion with a presidential proclamation on Columbus Day, saying a very basic but true thing that isn't said often enough by any politician.
Starting point is 00:04:05 He says, today our nation does honor the legendary Christopher Columbus, the original American hero. A giant of Western civilization, one of the most gallant and visionary men to ever walk the face of the earth. This Columbus Day, we honor his life with reverence and gratitude. and we pledge to reclaim his extraordinary legacy of faith, courage, perseverance, and virtue from the left-wing arsonists who have sought to destroy his name and dishonor his memory. Born in Genoa, Italy, in 1451, Columbus quickly emerged as a titan of the age of exploration. The president goes on. And he talks about all of the work he put in, how he had to approach the Spanish crown,
Starting point is 00:04:46 how he went on a daring expedition that everyone thought would be impossible. He sails in three very small ships, by the way. These are not huge. These were small ships, the Nina the Pinta and the Santa Maria. And he tried to establish a new trade route to Asia. Instead, Columbus makes an accidental discovery as he lands in the Bahamas two months later. He plants a cross in the ground in a mighty act of devotion, dedicates the land to God, and sets in motion America's proud birthright of faith. The president goes on and says outrageously in recent years, Christopher Columbus has been a prime target of a vicious and merciless campaign to erase our history, slander our heroes and attack our heritage. Before our very eyes, left-wing radicals have toppled his statues, vandalized
Starting point is 00:05:34 his monuments and tarnished his character and sought to exile him, kick him out from all the public spaces. Under my leadership, those days are finally over, says the president. He goes on to say that we need to celebrate Christopher Columbus's legacy. More than 500 years ago, he arrived in the new world. And we should follow his example, echo his resolve and offer our gratitude for his life of valor and grit. Yeah. So the president of the United States says that by presidential proclamation that, of course, October 13th today, 2025, is Columbus Day. That's the president with a great message.
Starting point is 00:06:16 And look, this goes back to the point I was just making, which is, and the president. made here, there is a value. There's an immense value in having national heroes and national holidays and cultivating in our population an appreciation for what came before. History, for what has made us who we are today? If you get rid of that, well, what holds us together? We live in a diverse country. With each passing year, it's even more diverse, clearly. And in that diversity, we have to find the places of commonality. We have to bridge all of the things that us different to find the things that make us the same, that bring us together, something we can celebrate, that make us American. It has to be the case. The left has worked feverishly to diminish
Starting point is 00:07:02 the bonds that hold us together. They destroy even the basic building blocks of our existence. Your own biology is on the line as far as the left is concerned. What is a man? What is a woman? Who can know? You can make it up. No, that's not true. There are absolute truths about you fundamentally. The left has worked feverishly to destroy the family unit has suggested that it isn't even necessary. That instead you should turn to government for your salvation. No, you should turn to God for your salvation. And cultivating a strong and healthy family is a great way to do that. In fact, speaking of God, religion is a unifying thing. It's faith that binds so many of us together. In fact, one of the reactions to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, now just over a month ago, was in the United States, people stepped forward and they said, I'm a person of faith.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Or if they weren't, they began exploring becoming a person of faith. It was a positive development out of the horrors of a really terrible tragedy. And so today, on Christopher Columbus Day, it is worth remembering the goodness that Columbus represents. the bravery, the heroism, the adventure that he represented, and the role that he played in getting us to where we are today. We need these symbols. We need these heroes. We need these stories. They do bind us together and don't let the left take that away. It is really good. And one more thing for you on Columbus Day. A lot of people don't realize this, that Columbus Day didn't exist until the late 1800s. It was back in 1891 that there was a mass lynching of
Starting point is 00:08:49 Italian immigrants in New Orleans. There was 11 Italians who were all lynched at the same time. In fact, this was one of the biggest mass lynchings in American history. And it's basically never talked about at all. But I do want to remind you of it. There is a piece. I just found this today. There's an image that you can see for those of you watching rumble.com slash vans. there's an image today on Axios New Orleans. They have this. And they point this out. They say that New Orleans remembers mass lynchings of Italians 134 years later. And in the post, you can see an image of the scene. Thousands of men gathered in the streets of 1891. And they had decided to raid the jail in attempt to avenge the death of a police chief who was shot while walking home by the name of David Hennessy. And it was March 14th, 1891, 11 Italian-American immigrants were killed in New Orleans. It remains one of the country's largest single lynchings. Some of the victims were acquitted the day before in the murder of the city's police chief. Now, Axis, New Orleans rightly points out what happened after that was Italy began to cut off
Starting point is 00:09:57 diplomatic relations with the United States. And there began to be talk of war over this. And as a way to cool down the temperature in the wake of all of that, President Benjamin Harrison created Columbus Day to honor the Italian-born explorer, of course, Christopher Columbus. It's obviously and naturally not the only thing about America that reflects on Columbus. Columbus Day. In fact, our nation's capital is named after him. It's the district of Columbia, very intentionally. But in terms of just remembering how we got here, what this is and why it matters,
Starting point is 00:10:34 well, Christopher Columbus was a great explorer, a great adventure, connected. Europe to the West. And here we have, of course, the convention of Columbus Day. It was born out of the lynching of Italians. So when we reflect on, as I do, I jokingly call it Italian People's Day, it kind of mock the Indigenous People's Day riff. But it is real. That is real. It is, it was designed originally to mark an Italian holiday. And so that's what we've got. So there you go. Now you know, there you go. Lynn and Jeff says, Vince, thanks. for sharing this info. I didn't know that about the lynching. Yeah, most people don't actually. I routinely, every year now on Columbus Day, I routinely have conversations with people
Starting point is 00:11:18 about this. And they say, I didn't know that. I had no idea. Well, that's because the left works really hard for you not to know. That's kind of by design. So there you have it. All right. Let's explore some other things that are going on. Meanwhile, the president of the United States has just flown to Israel. As I'm speaking to you right now, he's en route to Egypt, may already be there. He's, boy, the guys are, is knocking out a lot of business right now. And it is about peace in the Middle East. Remember, last week, we finally got agreement between Israel and Hamas, such that the whole planet is celebrating this. So kind of wherever you are on any of these issues, everybody's celebrating, at least decent people are, because they don't
Starting point is 00:12:08 want bloodshed. So the president has established a meaningful peace. And the breaking news today, the wonderful breaking news today, is that all 20 living hostages have now gotten out of Gaza. They've been released by Hamas and they are back in Israel. This is massive and this does not happen without the president of the United States. It just doesn't happen. In fact, This morning, I've got some footage for you. Here's one of the hostages. His name is Guy Gilboa DeLal, and he's free now. He was abducted from that music festival on October 7th.
Starting point is 00:12:54 He is back in his family's arms now. Here is some of the video this morning of him being released and out of the custody of Hamas. celebration as his family finally sees him again tears a wonderful scene an amazing scene and a family so emotional after these these many many months to be able to get back their beloved family members. So a wonderful scene. A scene that played out 20 times now. So many families being able to get back together with their loved ones. In fact, in Tel Aviv, you know, that they've had a square, they've been referring to hostages square in Tel Aviv.
Starting point is 00:13:51 That's the scene where so many people have spent so much time demonstrating and holding up signs of their loved ones and eagerly calling with each passing day for their loved ones to to come home to be returned. And that day he is here. It is now no longer hostages square. They've changed the name to Freed Square, Freed Square. And there were chance in Freed Square ringing out in the last 24 hours on behalf, directed at President Trump. Take a look at Cut 12. Here are the chance from Freed Square. Celebrations still underway in what they're calling freed square now, no longer hostage square. Thank you, Trump. Thank you, Trump. You know, I want to dwell on this for a moment on the role that President Trump has played. And we've got quite a bit here from President Trump. In fact, he spoke this morning in the Knesset. That's the Israeli legislative body. And look, none of this happens if it's not for President Trump. Let's be really clear about this. And if in case, in case you doubt me, I mean, look no further than.
Starting point is 00:15:11 all sides of the table saying the same thing. I mean, hell, Hillary Clinton just admitted. This only happens because of Donald Trump. I can't even believe the moment that you and I are living through right now. I mean, I can believe President Trump's capability. It's just the fact that he got so many people, including people who hate him with a burning passion, to begrudgingly admit that he deserved credit here.
Starting point is 00:15:34 It is a remarkable sequence of events. president trump has done this through a number of means one is he used american power to its fullest extent whether it was bombing iran nuclear facilities whether it was providing israel with the support it needed to prosecute its war against hamas whether it was threatening the utter destruction of hamas if they didn't come to the table if they didn't bring about this piece meanwhile on the other side of the table, it wasn't always easy dealing with Israel, I mean, in particular, the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. As great as the relationship is in public, the president himself has often said that Benjamin Netanyahu has been difficult to deal with. In fact, at one point,
Starting point is 00:16:21 when the Israelis, a couple weeks ago, they had bombed Qatar, they had bombed the site in Qatar in the hopes of trying to kill more Hamas leadership, the president forced Benjamin Netanyahu to give an apology to the Qataris. He compelled them to do it. And he sat there as he did it on a phone call. The president was the one throughout all of this who was tough, who forced everybody to the table, including a great ally like Israel,
Starting point is 00:16:47 and said, you've got to bring about a peace. And the president is getting great marks for this in Israel. I just played for you audio of people chanting in Freed Square. Thank you Trump. Thank you Trump. The reality for President Trump is he's more popular than Benjamin Netanyahu is in Israel. Israel has divided politics, just like the United States. Clearly, people going back and forth at each other in a tough political environment there.
Starting point is 00:17:14 But President Trump is widely regarded as the reason why those hostages are now home and why any peace could be achieved. The president today generously used his political popularity in the country in order to call for Benjamin Netanyahu to be pardoned. Netanyahu is being subjected right now to claims that he's involved in some sort of corruption, and that's an ongoing trial. In fact, the trial is supposed to continue on Wednesday of this week. But while the president was addressing the Knesset today, in addition to celebrating this piece, he also said, it's time to pardon Netanyahu.
Starting point is 00:17:55 He called on the president of Israel to pardon Netanyahu. Yahoo. It was a remarkable moment. It was pretty cool. Take a look here. I want you to see this because this is just a sign of how the president never gives up on dealmaking. He's always in the midst of some sort of dealmaking endeavor. Here's the president this morning. Something could happen that changed my mind. Somebody that's really stupid gets into office and wants to do really bad things, but that's about it. We don't think we're going to have that happen. I hope we're not going to have that happen and this man is a good man right here these two men are good men right here hey i have an idea mr president why don't you give him a pardon and that wasn't a part of the
Starting point is 00:18:49 president's prepared remarks uh he he just went out of his way uh to say hey i'm going to help Benjamin Netanyahu out here because, look, he's been a great and at times tough partner, but that's how dealmaking goes. You know, everybody fights for their own interests here and thinks that they've got the best plan. But the president just decided to pull the reins on everybody and said, let's get to the table. And so more, I want to give you some more from the president's remarks here at a moment to the Knesset this morning and then off to Egypt where he is going to negotiate this massive peace deal. Well, not negotiating. The negotiating is really done. It's to to sign this piece deal with these Middle Eastern countries and hopefully create a lasting
Starting point is 00:19:29 piece in the Middle East. If anybody is capable of doing this at a level that's never been seen before, it's a guy like Donald Trump. Great celebration. Boy, it's nice to start the week with good news. I've got a lot of it, actually. More ahead here on Vince. Great to have this audience with us.
Starting point is 00:19:47 The best audience anywhere. Hey, the Fed has finally dropped interest rates. And that is great news for American homeowners. expenses have been a major burden, as you know, on American families. Wages have been flat and prices have kept climbing. You can thank the left for all that garbage. And for many, the only way to make ends meet has been to lean on credit cards. But that cycle of high interest debt, it's made it hard to stay ahead.
Starting point is 00:20:09 So look, if you're a homeowner, you should call my friends at American financing. Right now, interest rates have dropped. Many homeowners are seeing options in the low fives. You can compare that to credit cards charging rates in the 20s or higher. American financing can help you pay off that expensive debt, free up your cash flow, and keep your budget under control. Their salary-based mortgage consultants are saving customers an average of $800 a month. And if you get started today, you may even be able to delay your next mortgage payment. Take control. Call American financing today.
Starting point is 00:20:39 888879-646. That's 8888-879-6460. American financing.net slash Vince. number 18234, NMLS Consumer Access.org. APR for rates and the fives, started 6.327% for well-qualified borrowers. Call 888-879-6460 for details about credit costs and terms. Thank you to American Finance and great sponsor to this program. Yeah, we do. We love winning, says VZ1, so much winning for our country and for the world. Yeah, that's exactly right. That's exactly right. And, you know, there is it has been interesting you know there are people who are giving trump credit uh for all of
Starting point is 00:21:24 this who you don't normally hear from now not all of them obama tweeted something on friday or going into the weekend i was like oh it's great to see a deal yeah it's great but then guess whose name he didn't mention trump he never bothered to mention him he didn't mention the fact the only reason that this deal exists is because a guy who actually deserves the Nobel prize secured it Remember Obama got the Nobel Prize for doing nothing. He was walking into office for the first time, staring at the Oval Office, being like, oh, I got to work here now, huh?
Starting point is 00:21:57 Weird. And then they gave him the Nobel Prize. What? For doing nothing? Man, that's nice to be a Democrat. That's not the way it works for Trump. Trump's negotiated eight-piece deals so far, and so far no Nobel Prize.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Yeah, so Obama didn't mention President Trump. And even CNN's Abby Phillip. Cut two, she noticed. President Obama put out this post talking about the peace deal and the prospects of it. And Don Jr. responded to it. I'll finish it for you. Thank you, Donald Trump. Honestly, it's not unfair to say if President Obama's going to write a whole post about a peace deal,
Starting point is 00:22:38 maybe he should acknowledge the president that brokered it. If Donald Trump gets a peace deal, he deserves the credit. If Donald Trump gets a peace deal, he deserves the president. the credit. The guest there, by the way, is a former Kamala Harrisade. So everybody at the CNN table is like, actually, this guy kind of deserves credit. That's, by the way, that's a measure of how big Trump's achievement here is. It's not your run of the mill winning. This is winning on a completely different level, so big that even these CNN goons are kind of begrudgingly admitting it. Like, yeah, Trump did it. What's wrong with Obama? They'll go back to praising him
Starting point is 00:23:15 tomorrow, don't you worry. But as far as they're doing box checking exercises right now, well, there's that. The president did offer some big statements today on what's happening in Israel and what's happening in Gaza in the Middle East. Here he is this morning speaking to the Knesset. Mr. Speaker, Steve members of the Knesset and cherished citizens of Israel, We gather on a day of profound joy of soaring hope, of renewed faith, and above all, a day to give our deepest thanks to the almighty God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. After two harrowing years in darkness and captivity,
Starting point is 00:24:25 20 courageous hostages are returning to the glorious embrace of their families, and it is glorious. 28 more precious loved ones are coming home at last to rest in this sacred soil for all of time. And after so many years of unceasing war and endless danger, today the skies are calm, the guns are silent, the sirens are still, and the sun rises on a holy land that is finally at peace, a land and a region that will live, God willing, in peace for all eternity. A great statement from the president this morning.
Starting point is 00:25:09 His speech was excellent, by the way. Can't recommend it enough when went really well. There was a moment during the address, though, where it was disrupted. There were protesters that disrupted President Trump's speech this morning in the Knesset. Watch, for those of you on rumble.com slash Vince, watch as they throw these guys out of the room instantly. This is good. I think American security should take note. And they somehow can relate to them.
Starting point is 00:25:38 I've known him for many years and I've seen it over over again. Let's see it over at Chavez-O-Doh-Dhese-T-O-Doh-Lade. Let's get him out of the outside, out of, out of-housa. Everyone's clapping. He's so funny. That was very efficient. That was very efficient, says the president. I love that. Hey, so chat, should we do that during the State of the Union? Should we institute that for the State of the Union? So next time Jasmine Crockett or AOC or Ilhan Omar start going absolutely ballistic in the middle of the
Starting point is 00:26:29 next State of the Union. Should we just, you know, just toss them? Yes. I think. think that'd be great that'd be fun to see yeah toss them out yes okay the chat's all in they love this let's um let's uh let's let's do that we got some f yeses hell yeses yeah no that would be that'd be easy to throw it too they'd be easy to toss they're not they're not even those fat dudes that they just dragged out of the kinesop um yeah all right anyways that's uh that's how the president's speech went today and um he's off to the middle east to uh well he arrived in the middle east he's off to egypt now uh he's working with the egyptians and all the various Arab and Muslim countries to have these big peace deal.
Starting point is 00:27:12 So that's that's awesome. Congratulations, Mr. President. Please keep up the great work. And we love it. We love it. I've got a lot more to get to today for you. We've got a what Kamala Harris praises President Trump. That's really good.
Starting point is 00:27:30 I'm going to get to that. But also, we've got some updates on her relationship with Joe Biden. Apparently, it's as awful as you as you, as you, can imagine. And so that's fun. And then I want to get into the Tom Holman thing with you because the left has been trying to invent a scandal for Tom Holman, Holman, who has been one of the single most effective people in this administration. I'm going to help you cut through this because it's just a gigantic pile of garbage and, well, we have to take the garbage out. It's all ahead on this edition of Vince. All right, let me see. I've got, I got something for you.
Starting point is 00:28:05 if there's something all of us can believe in, is hard work, self-reliance, and showing up for the people who actually count on us. All right, let's see. I've got, yeah, okay, one more for you. There's a bunch of these. Hillary Clinton is praising Trump and CNN is praising Trump. Kamala Harris is even coughing out commendations for Trump.
Starting point is 00:30:56 I commend him, she eventually says. Cut three. Take a look at Kamala. Both former secretaries of state Hillary Clinton and Anthony Lincoln have commended President Trump for the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. Do you agree with them? Should he be commended? I don't think that we should hold in credit where it's due. I mean, first of all, let me say about that deal. I really do hope it becomes real and that the hostages are out, that Gaza is no longer being treated. treated with such brutality of force that aid goes in. And I commend the people who have been a part of this process.
Starting point is 00:31:41 I'd commend the Qataris, the Egyptians, and the president. I love how she'll commend the Qataris first. And then she'll commend the Egyptians. And then she won't say his name, but then she'll just say the president, I guess. Hilarious. A deal that would not have happened. Never. Not in a million years if Kamala were president. We know what that looks like. Joe Biden made it worse. All these wars only happened because Joe Biden was in office. Donald Trump is here to clean that up, that gigantic mess that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris left behind. So how's that for a win? As now even Kamala Harris is begrudgingly admitting that that Trump's the man. Hey, one more for you on Kamala. Kamala. So we got some news this weekend that Biden in his cancer. is now going through radiation treatment as well. And I disagree like crazy with Joe Biden.
Starting point is 00:32:38 I was horrified that he was ever president of the United States, but I don't wish any sort of illness on him. I wish that this cancer could be resolved somehow, although that seems unlikely. I wish it could. And I've no doubt, I've prayed for every American president. That includes Joe Biden, and he continues to be in my prayers. But we get this, we get this news that he's undergoing radiation therapy. So Kamala was asked about this. And, oh, Have you talked to him and listen to her lie? She starts with a lie. She's like, oh, yeah, I called him.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Oh, what did he say? Oh, I didn't actually talk to him. Her instincts are to instantly lie. Listen to this. His spokesperson said that he is going to now start doing radiation for his prostate cancer. Have you talked to him about it? I called him earlier. How is he doing?
Starting point is 00:33:24 I have not talked to him. I just left him a message after I heard the news. I was otherwise in my on the event at the event I that my missing something producer Justin did I hear that correctly where she she starts with yeah I just called him earlier and he's oh okay what did he say and then she's like I can't even she couldn't even make up a lie she wasn't creative enough for that she was like I didn't talk to my left him a message in other words he doesn't answer my calls Joe Biden doesn't answer what Kamala calls him I'm telling you that relationship is
Starting point is 00:33:58 far worse than anything that they've indicated in public. They do not like each other. It was a marriage of some sort of weird convenience, but whatever. The point, it's so crazy. She won't even, he won't even take her calls. And she lies. She lies, right? Like Justin, I'm not misreading that, right?
Starting point is 00:34:15 That was what she was trying to do. Yeah, Justin totally agrees. Yeah, no, it's, it's funny. It's really funny to witness that. Crazy. Hey, all right. let me move on to more important news than that though hey the shutdown continues i think we're on day 13 lucky 13 the shutdown is continuing and last we spoke i'm telling you on friday this is one of the
Starting point is 00:34:39 weird problems with this podcast guys have you noticed that so what ends up happening is i will bring something up on the podcast and by the time the live show is over usually within a few hours things change rather dramatically and oftentimes towards the things that you and I want. So on Friday morning, I was raising yet again that, hey, this government shutdown is continuing. Please unleash Russ Vote. Let Russ Vote fire everybody. Start shrinking the government. And sure enough, by Friday midday after we had done our program, Russ Vote put out a really simple tweet.
Starting point is 00:35:22 look at this if you can see this hold up here it is on the on the screen the riffs have begun that was 1227 p.m. Eastern time the riffs have begun now for those of you who are in the government or familiar with it riff means reduction in force the reduction in force has begun what that means is they're laying people off well that's wonderful news that is exactly what you and I have sought used your power to shrink the government. And so the Trump administration has begun this with some intensity. The Trump administration has already laid off some 4,100 people. That's the update we got. The Trump administration is slashing agencies now with shutdown layoffs. The Daily Caller reporting here, the Office of Management Budget announced another round of reductions in force would begin on Friday.
Starting point is 00:36:18 Over 4,100 employees have been laid off over the weekend. RIF notices swept Friday through the Department of Health and Human Services with between 1,100 to 1,200 employees laid off across multiple divisions. The Centers for Disease Control was notified of terminations late Friday night as well. The Department of Education, 466 laid off. 442 people laid off at Housing and Urban Development. 315 at the Department of Commerce, 187 at the Department of Energy. The Department of Homeland Security has laid off 176 people.
Starting point is 00:36:55 They're laying off people at the cybersecurity, infrastructure security agency, CISA as well. So there's a lot. The list keeps going. Thousands and thousands of people have been laid off already, and those layoffs will continue. So this gets back to the point that I was making. with you on Friday morning. Now, I get to the national radio show, the big national radio show Friday,
Starting point is 00:37:21 and we start reflecting on this. And I said, man, well, this is great. All these layoffs are coming in. I've got another idea. You ready for my next idea? I swear, I said this on the radio show Friday, for those of you who follow both the podcasts and the radio show.
Starting point is 00:37:34 I said, Mr. President, now's your chance to pay the troops. Because if you fire enough people, you can save enough money. that you can make sure that the troops get paid on October 15th. So two days from now, on the 15th, the troops are scheduled to be paid again or they were supposed to be. But because of the Schumer shutdown,
Starting point is 00:37:57 we didn't have enough money. So what's happened is Russell Vote, Russ Vote has been firing people in the federal government. And ladies and gentlemen, Eureka, it happened again. The president posting two truth social, the following information, He said, Chuck Schumer recently said, every day gets better during their radical left shutdown.
Starting point is 00:38:21 I disagree. If nothing is done because of Chuck Schumer and the Democrats, our brave troops are going to miss their paychecks on October 15th. This is why I am using my authority as commander-in-chief to direct our secretary of war, Pete Hegseth, to use all available funds to get our troops paid on October 15th. We have identified funds to do this. So Hegseth will use them to pay our troops. I will not allow the Democrats to hold our military, our nation hostage with their dangerous government shutdown. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Starting point is 00:38:54 President Trump. So we've got some good things going here, ladies and gentlemen. I was joking with producer Jim. I got to be careful. All these suggestions that we come up with for the administration, they keep doing them. We should really flex, you know, stretch our wings a little bit here. producer jim is a big um you know he loves uh smoking meats he's a big barbecue guy down in texas he loves his texas barbecue and i said jim is there anything you want you want like a new smoker
Starting point is 00:39:22 or something well we should just manifest it now the now the president trump keeps doing everything we keep recommending and he said well i'd love a new trailer smoker so here's the here's the big test if a trailer smoker ends up in producer jim's driveway over the next week uh well then yes we We've got something going on here. I don't know what it is, but it's a real blessing. The whole point of this, of course, is do I really think that the president's following my guidance on this? I don't anticipate that that's the explanation for this. I just think that the president is a thoughtful person, and you and I are constantly thinking about how the country can get better.
Starting point is 00:40:01 And luckily, the president keeps pursuing that. The same thing happened here, by the way, on this show. Remember when we were talking about deploying troops to Memphis saying, hey, look, go to a Republican. led state. Send them in the Memphis. And if you do that, then maybe you can clean up a Democrat city inside of a Republican state with the cooperation of a Republican governor. That could be a really, really big deal. And sure enough, it seems to be happening. And he did it shortly after we started raising that on the program. So that's been a really, really big deal. Now, over the weekend, we had the vice president of the United States appear on the Sunday shows. This is why I
Starting point is 00:40:42 wanted to hit with you. And he was asked at one point whether or not Trump was going to invoke the Insurrection Act in order to protect America's cities. And here is J.D. Vance fielding that question. Look at the answer to this first. Here's cut five J.D. Vance on the Insurrection Act. Are you seriously considering invoking the Insurrection Act? Well, the president's looking at all of his options. Right now he hasn't felt he needed to, but we have to remember why are we talking about this, Kristen? Because crime has gotten out of control in our cities, because our ICE agents, the people who are enforcing our immigration laws have faced a 1,000 percent increase in violent attacks against them. We have people right now who are going out there, who are doing the job the president asked them to do, who are enforcing our immigration laws, they're being assaulted, they're being beaten, they're being shot at.
Starting point is 00:41:33 The problem here is not the Insurrection Act or whether we actually invoke it or not. The problem is the fact that the entire media in this country cheered on by a few far-left lunatics have made it okay to tee off on American law enforcement. We cannot accept that in the United States of America. We want everybody, black or white, rich or poor, to be safe in the United States of America. But to do that, we have to empower our law enforcement agents to keep us safe. That's what we're talking about doing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:02 All right. So he's looking, all options are on the table. The Insurrection Act is a very real thing. It allows the president to be able to deploy the military in order to restore peace in America, wherever there is disorder. He clearly has that on the table. Now, the media are acting like this is completely unprecedented. This would be somehow authoritarian or insane.
Starting point is 00:42:21 But even on their own shows, listen to George Stephanopoulos this weekend, be confronted with this reality. A lawyer at the table points out, her name is Sarah Isdra, She points out to him really rapid fire that the Insurrection Act has been used a ton by American presidents, including when the governors refuse to bring peace to their own cities. Listen to Stephanopoulos pretend like President Trump's doing something authoritarian and a lawyer instantly dunking on him. Cut six. Watch this. We only have 30 seconds left. Do you think it's going to get that far? Is the president going to invoke the Insurrection Act? Nearly half of U.S. presidents have invoked the Insurrection Act during their terms, some more than once. Donald Trump said he would do it during his first. Not over the objections of governors. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:43:05 Think about Eisenhower and Little Rock. It was absolutely over the objection of the governor to desegregate the schools. The Insurrection Act for years, lawyers have been saying this is far too broad. They warned about it at the beginning of the Biden administration. This is the time to change the Insurrection Act. We miss the opportunity then. And here we are. Yeah, what a great and like pithy little dunking on George Stephanopoulos here.
Starting point is 00:43:26 And she's right about that. If you go in this, I'm reading from a guy called Brendan Beebe with a great substact post this past week on the subject. He wrote about this extensively. And he said, you know, back in 1957, of course, you get the Little Rock integration crisis. President Dwight Eisenhower is in office. You have the Arkansas governor, Democrat Orville Phobis at the time, who was blocking black students from entering Little Rock Central High School. That was September of 1957. Dwight Eisenhower federalizes the Arkansas National Guard and sends in 1,000 U.S. Army paratroopers from the 101 Airborne to enforce the student's entry under the Insurrection Act.
Starting point is 00:44:08 It's not just that. In 1962, John F. Kennedy uses the Insurrection Act in order to force Democrat Governor Ross Barnett to integrate Ole Miss, the University of Mississippi. That's, again, over the objections of Democrat governors. That just keeps happening, by the way. that's the trend. Democrat governors refuse to enforce the law, to treat people with respect and human decency and to honor America's laws. They support chaos. And oftentimes presidents have to stop these Democrats, including Democrat presidents like John F. Kennedy. In 1963, the same thing was done at the University of Alabama, as once again, President Kennedy has to invoke the Insurrection Act there in order to stop Governor George Wallace.
Starting point is 00:44:59 Democrat from his lawlessness and racism. So that just keeps happening, doesn't it, ladies and gentlemen, where you get these Democrat governors who support dehumanizing people, who do support systems of oppression, who support segregation, who support all this garbage, and it requires presidents with at least a little bit of decency or a lot of decency in some cases coming in and saying, no, no, no, you're not doing that. I'm going to invoke the Insurrection Act, and I'm going to stop you. So that's the trend, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:45:29 and the president of the United States may explore that. That option is on the table. Speaking of these vice president, Vance interviews this weekend on the Sunday shows, he also did one with George Stephanopoulos. And Stephanopoulos wasted a bunch of valuable time with the vice president, trying to demonize Tom Holman. I want to explain what's going on here with the time I have left with you. Here is George Stephanopoulos, J.D. Vance.
Starting point is 00:45:57 Listen to this, and then I'll tell you about what's actually. going on on the other side. Watch. I don't know what tape you're referring to, George. I saw media reports that Tom Holman accepted a bribe. There's no evidence of that. And here's George, why fewer and fewer people watch your program and why you're losing credibility, because you're talking for now five minutes with the Vice President of the United States about this story regarding Tom Holman's a story that I've read about, but I don't even know the video that you're talking about. Meanwhile, low-income women can't get food because the Democrats and Chuck Schumer have the government. Right now, we're trying to figure out how to pay our troops because Chuck Schumer has
Starting point is 00:46:33 shut down the government. You are focused on a bogus story. You're insinuating criminal wrongdoing against a guy who has done nothing wrong instead of focusing on the fact that our country is struggling because our government's shut down. Let's talk about the real issues, George. I think the American people would benefit much more from that than from you going down some weird left-wing rabbit hole where the facts clearly show that Tom Homan didn't engage in any criminal wrongdoing. It's not a weird leftling rabbit hole. I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50,000, as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. And you did not answer the question. Thank you for your time this morning.
Starting point is 00:47:13 No, George, I said that I don't. Up next, we'll be right back. Wow. Okay. Do you hear how the end of that interview went? Do you hear that? The vice president of the United States tried to offer a clarifying comment in the midst of that weird, angsty little lashout from George Stephanopoulos, and Stephanopoulos cut him off and went to brick. Just cut off the vice president of the United States. So here's the recommendation I'm going to offer to the White House today if I could be so bold. No more interviews for George. I get it that you want to appear in adversarial quarters. You're good at it. All the members at the top of this administration are very good at it. George Stephanopoulos does not deserve another administration interview, not after how he treated
Starting point is 00:47:57 the vice president of the United States. I couldn't in a million years imagine doing that. Show some respect for the person you're interviewing. Does that mean you're not allowed to ask them tough questions or anything? No, that doesn't take that off the table, but you do have to show some common decency. George Stephanopoulos is a left-wing hack who couldn't demonstrate that. So he doesn't deserve another one at all. Yeah, he cut off the vice president. It's, it's Unreal. On this Tom Holman thing, I just want to emphasize something for you about how silly and ridiculous this and how this actually deserves an investigation. But that investigation should be into the Biden administration. And here's what I mean by that. This story is a fixation right now
Starting point is 00:48:40 of the left, a claim that Tom Holman accepted $50,000 in cash from the FBI, unbeknownst to him. now here's the story this is how the new york times reported it uh recently they headline trump justice department closed investigation into tom homin for accepting a bag of cash tom homan who was later named president trump's borders are was recorded in september of 2024 already listen to this september 20204 that means he's not a he's a private citizen he's not a member of the government he's not even a member of the transition team this is before the election the biden FBI was trying to entrap Tom Holman in a fake bribery scheme.
Starting point is 00:49:27 This is a massive story. It's not about Tom Holman. Tom Holman was the target of another corrupt FBI stunt under Joe Biden. Tom Holman was recorded in September of 2024, accepting a bag with $50,000 in cash in an undercover FBI investigation, the claim goes. According to people familiar with the case, which was later shut down by the Trump administration. They said the cash payment was in a bag given to Holman, according to the people who spoke on condition of anonymity. Holman's encounter with the undercover agents recorded an audio tape led him to be investigative for potential bribery and other crimes.
Starting point is 00:50:12 After he apparently took the money and agreed to help the agents who were posing his businessman and secure future government contracts related to border security, the people said. Now, again, he's not a government official at any of the time that this is alleged. So a private citizen taking cash from someone, how would this even amount to a criminal violation? After President Trump took office this year, Justice of Department officials shut down the case, ready? Because of doubts about whether prosecutors could even prove to a jury that Mr. Holman had agreed to do any specific acts in a case. exchange for the money, and because he had not held an official government position at the time of the meeting with undercover agents. One person familiar with the case said that the evidence
Starting point is 00:50:56 gathered hadn't even met the necessary elements of relevant federal crimes, while another contended the case was effectively ended prematurely before such additional evidence could be gathered. Justice Department officials concluded the evidence against Holman was insufficient to support any charges of wire fraud, bribery, or conspiracy. Okay. So what I'm looking at is not a Homan scandal. I'm looking at yet another Biden, DOJ, corrupt, deep state scandal. This is September leading up to the election. We're almost to Election Day.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Tom Homan is clearly the guy that President Trump has a lot of trust in in order to take care of the nation's immigration problems. And by the way, on that report card, Homan has been an absolute star. They are deporting people like crazy. They've secured the border. The border czar is a real border czar. And the reason they are attacking him and have been attacking him is because he is effective. He is good.
Starting point is 00:51:57 He's quality. And he is thwarting the left's chaos that it has imposed on this country. This is a Biden scandal. The United States Congress or any other investigative body, including the FBI and Cash Patel and Dan Bonjino, they should be opening up the books on how it is that one of the most effective Trump administration officials was targeted with this kind of garbage. A fake bribery scheme that was generated by the FBI? They tried to entrap him. They tried to invent a crime, invent a crime.
Starting point is 00:52:37 Even given the circumstances, the Justice Department couldn't find any sort of justification. to bring charges against Tom Holman because there was no violation of criminal law and yet the Biden FBI tried to invent one. Does this sound familiar to you? Well, sure. It's the same thing that they've pulled routinely on Donald Trump over and over and over again. It's the same thing they've pulled routinely on anybody who's ever worked for Trump over and over and over again and anybody who would be enthusiastic about doing that yet again. Tom Holman is an American patriot. This is garbage. And in fact, it's of the same corrupt vein that the left has been responsible for through the years.
Starting point is 00:53:23 So in case you were wondering, what the hell is that story about that the left keeps getting worked up on? Like, is Tom Holman? What's Tom Holman doing? Is he doing something bad? No, Tom Holman was targeted by a deep state operation designed to rob you of effective governance of America's border. That's the truth. And we should get to the bottom of that, shall we? I am nowhere near done with all of the stuff I have on my plate today.
Starting point is 00:53:48 But that's going to do it for us today on the Vince podcast. Lucky for you and for me. I've got the Vince show, the big national radio show today.
