Starting point is 00:00:00 My favorite part of the football season is the confidence everybody has before it kickoff. Zaslow already knows how the game is going to end. Tony has studied every possible matchup and Chris Cody is convinced his fantasy team is unbeatable. Then the game starts, everything immediately goes off the rails, and suddenly nobody remembers making any of those predictions. That's why a legendary game day starts with an ice cold Miller light, whether I'm at a tailgate, watching with friends, or settling in for a full Saturday of college football.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Miller Light is the beer I can depend on. It's crisp, refreshing, and has a clean finish that hits perfectly during a hot South Florida game day. Starting point is 00:00:59 calories and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces. Let me give you a true story. I was at my favorite bar. Guy working behind the bar, a good friend of mine, huge Bills fan. I opened up the game time map and a spur in the moment decision, let's go to Bills Lions,

Starting point is 00:02:10 now live in all 50 states. All right, it's Friday. We made it. We made it. We did it. We made it Friday. What a great thing we have. I don't think we've ever worked together before.
Starting point is 00:02:27 It's an odd assortment, a grab bag of talent. A grab bag, you will. Yes. I like that. I like that. I like it. It's a grab bag. Where are you going to grab? A cornucopia. Ah, don't use school words around here. It's Friday. Hi, Shaq. What do you call them?
Starting point is 00:02:44 How are you? How's everybody over there? You know what? Like ACC kind of weekend coming up here. Yes, pro football is. I wonder how the Dolphins fans watch a game like the division rival, if you call them a rival, the Buffalo Bills, housing another powerhouse pro football team. Does that matter to you? Are you sort of thinking like, oh, man, now we're down a game and a half in the standings? Or is it like, ha, ha, of course we're not in contention. Meantime, you've got the canes laying like three touchdowns against the wake today.
Starting point is 00:03:17 And the biggest game, maybe on the slate, this side of Ole Miss LSU this weekend, is Louisville and Smoo, two traditional ACCC powerhouses. I can't wait for the football weekend. Southern Methodist. That's right. That is what SMU stands for. new. Yeah, the Mustangs. Well done. I want to circle back to the hurricanes for a very simple reason because I was looking through the schedule and I said, I wonder what's a good home game. They're playing on the road at Wake
Starting point is 00:03:44 this year. What's a good home game? And then I realized their schedule sucks. I mean, they play nobody other than Notre Dame and maybe, maybe Virginia Tech. Are you, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, let's go back. You can reclaim the last eight seconds of your life. Go ahead. Try that again, there I mean. There's a team that is already in the winter circle on this football weekend, and it's just Friday morning.
Starting point is 00:04:09 What team is that? I was watching them yesterday. He talked about the Pittsburgh Panthers in case you didn't. Why them yesterday against Syracuse and wasn't impressed? You thought that was a declarative game? I don't give a good goddamn if you were impressed. They won the game. They're 3 and 0.
Starting point is 00:04:24 I think it matters. I think it matters. I wanted to get a mic to. take me to a Miami game this year because, you know, he's got the rich seats and like he gets the red carpet rolled out for him and all that. And I'm like, okay, what's the game for us to go to? And I looked at the schedule. I'm like, I'm not titillated by any of these matches. You want to go to Duke? You want to go to? How about Central Michigan in a couple weeks? Check, what's the game on Miami's schedule for me to go to at home? Is it Pitt? I know it seems like I'm digging my heels in, but yes,
Starting point is 00:04:57 We went over this as a matter of fact a week ago that the toughest game outside of Notre Dame that the Cains have left is that home game against Pitt. In other words, the Miami Hurricanes can, I mean, whatever you want to do, you have to get a tit ring if you're wrong, whatever a tattoo, whatever the punishment is. I can guarantee you that hurricanes are going to the tournament. Tit ring? I mean, there's no way they can miss it. I don't know. You know, what do people do? You know, like I say, get a back tattoo or shave this or.
Starting point is 00:05:26 Oh, that was a call to a nipple ring. You're talking about a, like, nipple ring. That's what you meant. I got bosoms on the brain after I saw that picture of Belichick. Oh, my God. What a rack. Everybody's not everything. What a rack on that guy.
Starting point is 00:05:39 We'll pull it up here in a second. But I just, you said, oh, they should make the tournament. And I'm looking at the schedule. I'm like, no, making the tournament is not good enough. You have to go in as one of the top two seeds, three seeds. They will. I mean, look at the schedule. Like something catathing.
Starting point is 00:05:56 catastrophic has to happen for them not to be a top three seed going in. Well, I mean, though, when you don't have, when you, when there are not a lot of games, a lot of chapters in the regular season to point to and say, well, they did this against that. The only game that really matters on their schedule, unless Pitt were to go in there and upset them, which I don't suspect they will, is the result of the Notre Dame game. Do they narrowly lose to them? Then they're still in play for one of the top four seeds, I guess. but if they beat, no, I mean, they're, they'd have to lose by, I think, three touchdowns to be eliminated from the conversation about being one of the top seeds in the tournament.
Starting point is 00:06:33 A lot of rat poison from no UM supporters here. I see Tristan on my left, Oregon, I see Georgia Tech on the other side with old Brent Key, and I see Fernando Bendoza-less, Indiana Hoosiers. You guys need to stay away. Stop talking about how good the canes are. Just leave it alone, okay? You got a big one tonight against Wake Forest, 20 and a half point favorites at home. That's not the point. The point is. Excuse me. On the roll. The point is that the Keynes need to just play today. Don't worry about what's going on in Pitt. Don't worry about Virginia Tech. Don't worry about November 7th against Notre Dame. Don't worry about that stuff.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Don't worry about tonight. What are you, the head coach now? Don't start with me. Do not start with me because you've been on me all week. Talk about, oh, the canes are already in the feet of basically. You just got to beat Notre Dame. No, you got to focus tonight against Wake 20.5.5. If they lose a single game outside of Notre Dame, it would be an embarrassment.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Well, the reason I've been on me, Kaba, Tony is because he had the temerity to announce that Derek Henry is a top five Super Bowl era running. Well, he is not. We'll be talking about that on Football America upcoming right after this show. I love all the lists, but I mean, very quickly, if I can take a hard left turn here, you're the movie expert. So I was curious about this race going on here.
Starting point is 00:07:45 We're into September. Go ahead. Give me your update here. What is going to win best picture in a few months when it comes up? Will it be the Odyssey? Will it be Project Hail Mary? Or do you want to take the field? Because you know the best movies are held out until right around now.
Starting point is 00:08:05 We're about to get into Oscar window when all the ones that are vying for the or perceive themselves to be Oscar contenders will be released. It's Project Hail Mary for sure. You're bugging. Project Hill Mary is one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life. The Odyssey is going to sweep. everything unless unless the acting wasn't that good in the Odyssey what are you talking about if you go back and watch it again you're gonna be like yeah Tom Holland was just okay you know you know you know what this is I know what this is I know what this
Starting point is 00:08:38 is Robert Pattinson is the only man who gave me good acting in the eyes like Wazamo was good too Lepizzo was okay but he was blind and so that was a prop it makes him a good act for blind people it was a prop it was a prop being blind was a prop put a Put it on the pole as being blind a prop. Yeah. No, look. I don't think you can put things on polls, Jeremy. I can do what I want.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Put it on the poll is being blind a prop. Thank you. There you go. Sign, sealed delivered. Here's my thing. The Odyssey is such a spectacle of filmmaking, right? Acting aside, the scope, the grandeur, and despite being a long movie, does not drag one bit. Doesn't drag it all.
Starting point is 00:09:20 And I'm the authority on this because I go to a movie theater. exclusively to take naps. I will say this. If they went for sound mixing, something's up there because that was not mixed well. And you know that, and I know that.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Yeah, it was loud. Too loud. It was a very loud movie. The, I think you got to give points to Chris Nolan for going the extra mile. Wait, we're calling him Chris.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Now look, that's right. That's how we're, very comfortable. I've seen a lot of movies. We're familiar. The, he didn't go, which, I mean, who wouldn't do this? Like, I'll just CGI the boats.
Starting point is 00:09:52 He's like, no, no. let's make ancient looking boats and put them actually in the water with real people in them. And it's all the difference. Your eye, you think your eye doesn't detect it, but it definitely sees that like, that boat's actually in the ocean. What the hell are they doing? That the thing doesn't look like it should float. And like all the locations are actual locations.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Like when they go to Hades, that's not a sound stage. That's actually somewhere like an ice stage. They did that for Project Kilmerry, too. They were actually in space. So here's the curveball for you. Because you said Project Hail Mary, Odyssey, or the field. You know, we're a few weeks away from the release of this motion picture that Tom Cruise is going to be in. The summer saying is going to be the best performance of his career.
Starting point is 00:10:35 You ever heard about this movie? Taylor, Sam, Swift, Brand. Now, I haven't heard about this. Is that the digler? No, it's close, close. It's a digger. With a Digger. With a D.
Starting point is 00:10:45 With a D. Yes. And a G. What is that movie about, I mean? It's about a guy who digs. Literally? Yeah, no, he's like a wealthy industrialist. and there's like an oil
Starting point is 00:10:55 yeah something something's happening where the world is going to end and he's got to save the world but it's not like it's not like that not like an Armageddon kind of way so Jerry Jones
Starting point is 00:11:05 yes it's Jerry Joe he's got to save the world and it starts with the star with Johnny Blue but yeah so I like I gotta go back I want to hear your final answer it sounds like a mean
Starting point is 00:11:17 agrees with me that well actually I don't know you're now floating out there you're all over the place of me Your floating Digger might do it, but otherwise you're positive 100% Odyssey is going to win everything. But be on the lookout for Digger because maybe that will win everything. You're all over the plate. I'm putting my money.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Hear me well, Damashek. Put my money on the Odyssey. The Odyssey is going to sweep everything. I don't think it's going to sweep because. I like that better than Trista's answer. Think about this, though. I understand why you would think that the Odyssey will win Best Picture. But Ryan Gosling has to win Best Actor
Starting point is 00:11:55 because it was just him by himself and some sort of random prop Alien thing. It was him pretty much 80% of the film outside of the flashbacks. A one-man show? And it's three hours long and it was riveting. It was better than the...
Starting point is 00:12:17 What's the Matt Damon one that he was? The Martian. The Martian. It was better than... than the Martian. I watch him back to back. And it's far and away better than the Martian. And he's by himself. Well, and you just mentioned Tom Cruise, by the way. You mentioned Tom Cruise and Digger. Like, he's going to be there for best lead actor. You're going to have Gosling. You're going to have tech, Seth Rogan in the invite it says here. I'm looking at
Starting point is 00:12:41 some of the list. Don't forget Robert Pattinson in primetime, not just in that movie. And remember he's supporting an odyssey. Right. But for best picture, you're going to have Dune Part 3 that comes out soon too. And while I'm not a big, correct, but I'm just trying to articulate like what's going to be out there because that's another blockbuster that's going to feel very cinematic, that's going to get a ton of people to the theaters that has a bunch of
Starting point is 00:13:03 prestige actors in it. You're going to see a lot of people flock to that. And don't forget for best actress, my money's on Indy Never Ready. What are you pushing back on, check? On Dune. Well, those are interesting thoughts, I think, from
Starting point is 00:13:18 Tashay. Trista, I'd like to go back, though. I agree with you about Gosling, although he was very, people indict a lot of actors for just being a version of themselves. That couldn't have been more what I assume Ryan Gosling's like in real life, basically like, hey, Ryan Gosling, what if you had an alien rock as your friend? Let's see the results, is sort of how that movie plays. And I'm not trying to be, you know, a snob or whatever, or a tough guy. I mean, I couldn't believe that all the hype. going into Project Hail Mary at some point, like what, an hour, hour and a half in? It's like, wait, this is a buddy picture with Ryan Gosling and an alien rock that they
Starting point is 00:14:00 pretend like they can understand each other. This is outrageous. And I definitely do not agree with the sentiment with everybody in Miami right now that that movie is better than the Martian. The Martian was way better. My favorite part of the football season is the confidence everybody has before kickoff. Zazzo already knows how the game is going to end. Tony has studied every possible matchup and Chris Cody is convinced his fantasy team is unbeatable.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Then the game starts, everything immediately goes off the rails and suddenly nobody remembers making any of those predictions. That's why a legendary game day starts with an ice cold Miller light, whether I'm at a tailgate, watching with friends, or settling in for a full Saturday of college football. Miller Light is the beer I can depend on. It's crisp, refreshing, and has a clean finish that hits perfectly during a hot, South Florida Game Day. Miller Light is the original light beer with great taste, and beer lovers have trusted it for more than 50 years. Make Game Day legendary. Starting point is 00:15:03 some Miller Lite pretty much anywhere they sell beer. Game time is Miller Time. Celebrate responsibly. Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 96 calories and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces. Dan Levatar. The person who insists, um, that Dave Demichick. When they make a list of the great, well, the first one is when they say, of all time.
Starting point is 00:15:28 This is the Dan Levitare show. Why? Why was the Martian way better than Project Kilmerry? I found the, like you say, a one-man show performance from Matt Damon more compelling in, given the stakes that were grounded somewhere in reality, which is fine that it was some fantasy space movie. I just did not anticipate that. I thought it was slight. I mean, what was the point of Project Hail Mary that Ryan Gosling made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made, made a hard-fought buddy picture, strange. He was a coward. He was a coward that they had to force into doing this. And that's the whole point in the movie. I saw it late after everyone hyped it up. Maybe that's why I'm less excited about it as a movie. Then again, I saw the Odyssey late because I literally
Starting point is 00:16:20 couldn't get a ticket. Again, I have to it wasn't because I was trying to get 70 millimeter. I just tried to get a seat and it was sold out for months. For months. You know what wasn't sold out for months? Probably the Taylor Mary. Could have just walked right up, bought a ticket. 70 millimeter for the Odyssey was pretty awesome.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Never. Never. We're going to rehash this one more time. Ladies and gentlemen, what did I miss? A little bit more sky up there? A little bit more ocean over there. It's the same damn thing. Don't let 70 millimeter is a Scam? Scam by the movie industry to get you,
Starting point is 00:16:54 bilk you out of hard-earned dollars to pay more. As is the Dolby Atmos, Atmos, audio experience. Is that extra? It's like $28 for the ticket. And I could only get that for Spider-Man. It was the only available time that worked for me. And I was like, plus tax is $32 for a movie ticket. Nah.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Big Hollywood out here selling, dreams, empty dreams, but I'll tell you who doesn't have empty dreams. The Buffalo Bills. Boy. Transition. That looked like a machine last night until the second half were like the lions. I sat there and I was like the lions are getting there.
Starting point is 00:17:34 I asked it. Then I watched the second half of mine. Oh, no. The lions look pretty good too. So Damashek, let me ask you this. If you're a Lions fan, are you strangely encouraged by last night's result despite the law? No, no, I am not. and you know early season results in pro football i'll reject them if they disagree with where i was in
Starting point is 00:17:55 august and where a team was headed but i will pat myself on the back and puff my chest out of it seems like i was right with one of my predictions and specific to the detroit lions it was my hot take was which people are going to come around to more and more in the coming weeks but people thought dave you're a lunatic when i said this in august the detroit lions dan campbellera is winding down And you can see that. Ben Johnson, as I said, three years ago was the straw stirring the drink there, more so than Dan Campbell, more so than his quarterback, Jared Gough. Yeah, no, I do not think it was encouraging for the Detroit Lions.
Starting point is 00:18:33 In fact, the last eight days or whatever, it's about what six days since they let the lie, the Saints rally on them and then getting hammered up there in Buffalo. And in that division going forward, I do not have. have high hopes for where the lines are head. Why is he always crying? I'm fine with a man. Yeah, I'm fine with a man who's in touch with his emotions, but every time he has a bad loss,
Starting point is 00:18:58 I think he's manipulating us. He's doing the dick for meal? He's doing the dick for a meal. He's crying purposefully, squeezing out tears of vulnerability so that we say, look at this very tough, very big, very muscular man in touch with his feelings, and we're not holding his feet to the fire
Starting point is 00:19:14 for being in, I think kind of a mediocre, Did he weep last night? He did, yeah. He said, I think we have the clip. It's not me. This is my fault. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:19:27 He did that? Week two. He's weeping. He's weeped in week two. He's doing a dice thing too much. This is the team that Amemian encouraged about their head coach is weeping. I didn't know that part. I didn't watch the press conference. I just watched the game and I thought after watching the first half where they look totally out class.
Starting point is 00:19:44 And the second half, it feels like they discovered, you know, we have a wide receiver name. I'm on St. Rao, who's pretty good. Maybe we should just throw it to him. And he was catching it all over the field. He's kind of tuddies and everything. And I'm like, okay. Like, yes, they didn't win the game, but they didn't get blown out the way they should have. Well, I thought that, I mean, you know, Dan brought this up earlier in this weekend. It's one of my favorite things is circumstantial hyperbole, which is whatever game we're watching, it features the greatest collection of talent mankind has ever seen until next week.
Starting point is 00:20:15 and we'll repeat that this is the best quarterback in the league. And as the game was winding down, Goff throws that meaningless touchdown pass to St. Brown. And they begin a discussion about like, you got to say, you know, the Stafford Gough trade, now that we have some distance from it, like that's pretty much a wash, right? Everybody agrees that Stafford for Gough was a wash. And yeah, yeah, got to say, Jared Gough doesn't have to take a back seat to any quarterback in this league. What are we talking?
Starting point is 00:20:43 To any quarterback? What are we talking about? Was Troy Eiffman on the call? Well, that's what I'm saying. I mean, the hyperbole from Herb Street and Michaels, I thought, was pretty wild. Do we sign off on that, Tony? Do you sign off on like, yeah, the world of football fans agree? I mean, obviously, golf for Stafford, no winner there.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Both sides' winners of that. I guess you could say it that one. That I probably agree with, even though that, you know, the Rams won a Super Bowl, but like the lions were taken out of the pit of mediocrity into like somewhat entertainment value as a team. I mean, if things go differently in that San Francisco game and the NFC championship game, maybe they have a shot to win that title. But, I mean, other than that, like, they're a fun team, right? Like, they've got fun players.
Starting point is 00:21:24 I think Gibbs is all world talent. But outside of that, like, golf is just a regular guy. He's just in a good system. He's a system quarterback is what he is. I think we have to remember what the Lions look like for, like, 60 years. Even with Stafford. I was going to say mediocrity is too much. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:38 They won, what, one game? One playoff game in a million years, right? Like it was, it was awful. It was, it was so awful. They gave them Barry Sanders and Megatron, and they still managed to be awful. We were talking about 20, 30 years ago. Like, you had perhaps the greatest running back of all time, and at a different time, perhaps the greatest wide receiver of all time. And in both cases, you still manage to be awful, not like mediocre, not like, seven and eight, seven to nine or whatever, like just awful every damn year.
Starting point is 00:22:10 And so what? you could call them both winners, right, damn, in the sense that both teams benefited from the trade. That is a fair way to couch it, I guess. And yeah, it was presented, and I think like we felt for the year, at least after the deal, poor Jared Gough, first overall pick goes to the Super Bowl. How embarrassing for Sean McVeigh, the QB whisperer, to realize, hey, you know what's holding us back? you. Right. So let's trade you to Detroit and upgrade to Matthew Stafford. And poor golf is now lost at sea and, you know, in purgatory, football purgatory in Detroit. And then all of a sudden they're good.
Starting point is 00:22:53 But I think the takeaway goes back to what I said three minutes ago, which was Ben Johnson was there. And now Ben Johnson is not there. And I think things are starting to be laid bare with each passing game and each passing season now that Ben Johnson was the critical factor. Dave, you could say the defense is the issue, right? Like they have no secondary. Max got hurt yesterday, too. Their offensive line is missing three starters. Like, there are key pieces to try and keep this thing afloat just aren't there.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Terry and Arnold got arrested for all the things he got arrested for. And then now he's in Seattle. So it's like, how do you keep something afloat when all you really have is Gibbs, St. Brown, and Goff and like trying to scotch tape the whole thing together? Well, I love, by the way, we have to go back very quickly because what Dan Lebitard was going on and on about earlier and this week about Troy Aikman, which I love with that kind of stuff is hilarious
Starting point is 00:23:46 to me. Amina al-Hasson just did exactly that. Did you hear him? Like, they had perhaps the best running back of all time and perhaps the best one receiver of all time. At least the second part of that is silly to say. So, so. No, I won't. I'm a ramble.
Starting point is 00:24:01 I'm a ramble. I don't know. And Barry Sanders is not the best running back of all time. Two things. Number one. I'm not Troy Eakman. I'm not saying he's as good as anyone in his. I'm saying to you, Megatron's the best wide receiver of all time. You know what I'm saying that? Oh, you've removed to perhaps even now. I'm trying to be nice. I'm trying to be respectful to people like Jerry Rice and Chris Carter and Randy Moss. But in my heart of hearts, the rambling wreck from Georgia Tech, that's the best
Starting point is 00:24:26 wide receiver ever. I didn't put two and two together. It's the rambling rack from Georgia Tech. He's a yellow jacket, everybody. Therefore, I mean, loses all sense of objectivity. You told me Pitt was a good game. What are you talking about? Pitt is a good game. I don't think Pitt's going to win down at the U, but I think Pitt is their second toughest game on the schedule. You said Virginia Tech. Virginia.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Well, I think Virginia Tech might be Pitt in Blacksburg on a Friday night in a couple of weeks. But that's a tough spot. That's a tough spot to go into. But Pitt is the better team ultimately. You know what? You're doing the Troy Eggman right now. That's a tough spot to go. I hate when people say, oh, it's a tough place.
Starting point is 00:25:06 It is a tough spot. It's not a tough spot. It's not. It's a tough spot when Michael Vick is there. Yes, it's a tough spot. In general, there's no such thing as that's a tough place to play. I'm not even talking about the student section jumping up and down. The thing that would, right out of the gate, you're nauseated if you go in there to play the Hokies
Starting point is 00:25:24 because you have to look all game at maroon and orange. Who came up with that color scheme? It is the worst on the planet Earth. I mean, think it through. Think it through now. I'll tell you what's worse. I'll tell you what's worse. That god-awful pit, light blue and bright.
Starting point is 00:25:41 yellow. What happened to the Navy blue and gold they used to wear? That was the pit of Chevy Troutman and LeVance Fields, right? Like Jean Blair. And Chris Taft, right? And Duon Blair and those guys, that's the pit I remember, dark blue and gold. That meant something. That was intimidation. Now you look like Disney characters. Your brain is broken by Georgia Tech. So they should dress like Georgia Tech. They should go Navy and metallic. Well, they did do that. And then they realized that looked ridiculous and they went back to the good colors. This is, I want to put a marker down and we're talking about hyperbole and all of that talking into a microphone, but this is not hyperbole. That is your worst take ever, I mean, that pits better uniforms were the ones that they wore
Starting point is 00:26:25 in the early portion of the 21st century. The metallic gold and navy blue and that weird blob on the side of the head versus script pit with the nice bright yellow gold and the striking royal blue. Shame the devil. It's like a kindergartner designed it. Like, get me get the brightest finger paints and make the jersey out of that. That's what Pitts jerseys look like last night. I'm looking at this. I'm like, who made this?
Starting point is 00:26:48 Who designed? Who decided like, this is a good idea? I mean, I don't even know how to respond to this. I'm just, I'm so shook by it. Trista, I mean, any thoughts? Arizona State is worse. Yeah. No, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:59 Hold on, wait a second. Hold on. What's happening? Jersey combo. Forks up. Yeah, hold on. We're not. We're not, we're not going.
Starting point is 00:27:07 what we're not going to do. We're not going to just attack all of a means alma maters on one day. That's what we're not doing. We go to high school, I mean. Tony, you know that moment at a party or a tailgate where everything just sort of clicks? I know it well. It's usually when I show up. Everybody goes crazy.
Starting point is 00:27:21 Yeah, you usually take all the credit for it. But it's because Tony usually walks in with Quervo. I'm walking like this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Quervo is a thing that turns hanging out into this is the night. It has that effect on people. It does. You usually take the credit for it.
Starting point is 00:27:36 But again, it's the quarevo. It's like that moment in a big game where everyone in the crowd just starts standing up, hooting and hollering. Keep it quervo. Keep it quervo, baby. Dan Levitar. Too much with the chef on a rific. Behind. You know, I'll go, I'll go doctor.
Starting point is 00:27:53 I'll go senator. I'll probably go even coach. Dave Demachik. But chef is where I draw the line. I'm not calling you chef. I'm calling you Gary. This is the Dan Levitar show. Okay, let me go back to the other one then, because Georgia Tech this weekend is committing the cardinal sin in my view,
Starting point is 00:28:26 and this is as someone who has gold within their color scheme, when you wear what is a yellow jersey and then have the gold helmet that does not match the yellow of the jersey, it drives me up a wall. This is just a PSA. Gold jerseys don't look good. Gold jerseys are not. Good. You can maybe get away with gold pants if you can find the right color to match with that gold helmet. But overall, if you're going to wear a gold jersey, first and foremost, you can't wear it with a gold helmet. But overall, every single gold jersey just looks like piss. There's not a single good gold jersey in all of football, and you cannot find one that makes any sense. It's why the New Orleans Saints only wear gold as an accent color in any of their jerseys. And it's why UCF has gone away from wearing any level of gold.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Do you remember back when Blake Bordels was the guy there, and they wore those awful light yellow, and you say, oh, we're black and gold? No, we're not. You loved it. No. At the time, you loved it. I loved.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Even embarrassingly, there's a look that they wore on a Black Friday, I believe in 2014, where they wore a black helmet that had nothing on it, and a giant gold stripe down the middle of it. And it was the ugliest thing I'd ever seen, but at least they were wearing a black helmet. And now, hey man, I wish there was more, combinations involved. They used to have pewter.
Starting point is 00:29:49 They used to have what they called anthracite, which was like a dark, a dark gray, silver color. But now it's just black and gold. But hey, gold's only going to be used as an accent or it's going to be used as a helmet. And what Georgia Tech is doing
Starting point is 00:30:01 with these yellow jerseys and then a gold. Yeah, that's fine. Then wear a yellow helmet. Do not give me a gold helmet if you're going to be the yellow jackets. It's ugly. It does not match.
Starting point is 00:30:12 It does not work. It is not a combination that any team should be wearing. Well, I have to push back on that. I largely agree with that sentiment when teams try to go gold as a jersey and the saints can never get it right. They can never match the gold in the helmet versus around the collar versus the number in the pants. It's very strange looking. But there is a looming exception to what you just said. Metallic gold as a jersey as a primary as the primary uniform color. You're going to like this one. I mean, it's the Georgia Tech rambling
Starting point is 00:30:42 wreck from way back when they had John Sally and Mark. Mark Price and Bruce Dow Rimble. Those metallic old uniforms, they were everything. They defined that era of Georgia Tech and ACC basketball in this reporter's book. Absolutely. Kenny Anderson and Lethal Weapon 3. They had the gold jerseys and they made them look spiffy. You know why?
Starting point is 00:31:04 Because gold looks good on people who deserve it. Now, if you're from central Florida or somewhere like that, I can see how you're an uncomfortable relationship with the color of gold, No, we're not worthy. So you're like, oh, I'll just accent and I'll put them around. Who's won a national championship? We have. In this century?
Starting point is 00:31:23 Yeah, 1990. Oh, shit, it's a 21st century, shit. Maroon and gray? It's five years before I was 20. Maroon and gray is a really bad color combo as well. Don't you agree, I mean? Maroon and gray? Yeah, maroon and gray.
Starting point is 00:31:35 Central High School. Yeah, I don't know. Nolan High School was maroon and gray. That's mine. Uh-oh. There you go. Roon and gold a little bit, Roy. You got a gold accent in there, too.
Starting point is 00:31:45 No, no, no, no, it was maroon and gray. There was no, when I was there, there was no gold. I'm pretty sure there's gold in Northern's colors. You know what else? To Tachay's point, the Golden Knights uniforms that they wear are disgrace, those gold jerseys, hideous. That's right. You know what else has gold back in its color scheme? Wendy's.
Starting point is 00:32:08 You guys see this? This is the best news ever. I know. I'm so excited. And this is embracing yellow, not gold. It's gold. But, but. Wendy's going back to having yellow for everything that they do.
Starting point is 00:32:20 This is such a play to all of our millennial hearts. I remember the first time that I saw Wendy's changing in terms of construction. And it was actually while I was at UCF. And I remember seeing one that got torn down and then built back up with the new infrastructure. And I was like, this doesn't feel right. Don't try to sell me on a luxury experience. Give me my yellow wrapping and give me my old-ass building and call it a day. This is what I need.
Starting point is 00:32:42 I need the Wendy's logo with the old style font. Your logo. Not that like, ooh, we're modern thing. I need that like a sunroom or whatever. Salarium. A salarium, that's the word. There it is, right there on the screen. I need that right there happening, right?
Starting point is 00:33:00 Where I can see kind of what's happening inside there. Wow, it's pretty cool. And I can sit with my friends against that and feel the warmth of the sun, even if it's a cold winter day outside. And I need, what I need is I need the term biggie. from the Biggie fries. We need Dave back. Remember when they had Dave everywhere. It's like, oh, it's Dave, it's Dave.
Starting point is 00:33:20 And now where's Dave? Where's Dave been? We don't know. We have no idea. Where is he? I don't know. He passed on. Oh, I get that, but we can have him in Memorial.
Starting point is 00:33:26 At least somewhere. I'll do it. Yeah, do we do what KFC did, basically? And trot out a bunch of people dressed as Dave Thomas to say that's Dave Thomas. He's back. I like it. They used to have my favorite one ever, the OG in my lifetime of if a certain team, if the home team scores a certain amount of points or goals
Starting point is 00:33:45 or whatever, you get blank as a ticket holder. The OG was, if the Pittsburgh Penguins scored seven goals, you got Chili. Seven. And then the Penguins would rarely a garbage team at the time. When they would get the six, the place would go wild. Chili, chili, chili. I can't remember anything that compares with that. But also, by the way, now that I'm in a Pittsburgh-centric mindset, Wendy's following Pitts lead.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Don't you see, I mean, you're on the wrong side of history. They went back to the nice bright gold. No, no, no, no. I'm not on the wrong side of history on this one. But first of all, seven goals is insane. As a threshold. Hey guys, when the heat score 180 pull-man. Yeah, seven goals, man.
Starting point is 00:34:25 That's number one. But number two, I did not have good memories of this because I was on the opposite side. But I'm going to tell you something. There's nothing more intimidating slash deflating than hearing the Lakers' faithful chant, we want tacos. Because if they hold you under 99 points, everyone gets free tacos. I think from Jack in the Box. They would get so, like, and this is a wine and cheese crowd. It didn't get excited if it wasn't a playoff game.
Starting point is 00:34:52 But I'm going to tell you right now, it was in the middle of December. And you had like, you were stuck on 87 and there's two minutes to go. The last two minutes of that game, they're just chanting, we want tacos. Chow, chop, chow, damn, man. Oh, man, those bring back memories, huh? Have you ever had a Jack in the Box taco? Of course I've had a guy. Man, they are so gas.
Starting point is 00:35:13 They are so good. In every sense of the word. Every sense. What's the line from cocktail, champagne, like champagne going in, sewage coming out? In the case of the jack-of-the-box taco, it's exactly that. It is a lot of... Well, that's kind of true about all foods that you ingest, I mean. But you know what deserves a shout-out to?
Starting point is 00:35:36 The two tacos for 99 cents, I don't know if it even still exists, but for a long stretch, that was the greatest deal in fast food. But fast food, you need the tip of cap, or I think we should at least, to the frosty. What a creation. It's not a milkshake. I don't like the frosty, but I don't like how it doesn't know what it is. Tell me what you. What are you sauce?
Starting point is 00:35:58 I like that. I don't know. I don't like that. I'm not in a cone. I'm in a cup. Declare yourself. No, you could choose to decide whatever it is. Am I drinking this?
Starting point is 00:36:07 Am I eating it with a spoon? It's your decision. I don't like it. I don't like this. Yes. The answer is yes to that at all times. Obviously. You were 100% putting prize in it.
Starting point is 00:36:15 That's what it is. It's a vehicle. Whoa. A means a fast food bigot. I can't believe it. Wow. It has to identify. It's what it's your business.
Starting point is 00:36:23 Let the Frosty be what the Frosty wants to be. Yeah. What do you mean? To paraphrase. And you know what? It's the same thing. You know what? We're talking about chili just a second ago.
Starting point is 00:36:33 And like weaners, those three things have something in common. What is chili? A soup? Is a wean or a sandwich? No. There's something better. They're their own thing. To paraphrie.
Starting point is 00:36:43 the Great Ian Carmel. Per fries. Yeah. That's right, because I got my Southern Prospect Awards going on now. To paraphrase, the Great Ian Carmel. I am an avid fast food segregationist. I believe the ice cream should be ice creams and the shake should be shakes and we should not have ambiguity between the two.
Starting point is 00:37:03 Mr. Damashik. You use the spoon in a restaurant, you use a straw in a car. That's right. That's how that one. You can't do a frosty with a straw. You can't do it. It's too thick. You can try.
Starting point is 00:37:12 No. Too thick. No, no, no. So what? So what are these? What are these issues you're throwing up? So what? Well, I don't know. I don't know if it's a spoon or, you know why? We're talking about Frosties. And that's what that's what Mr. Wendy, Mr. Dave Wendy was hoping what happened one day when he created the unique treat called the Frosty. Is it a shake? Is it ice cream? I don't know. But it's delicious sitting in the bottom of my belly right now. Speaking of ambiguity, this is what I love about the topic sheet. We have a sheet. I'm going to take people behind. Hold on. Oh boy. Oh, boy. Dan doesn't like that.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Dan is very upset. Oh, let me find the button. Hold on if I can find the button somewhere. I'm going to find the button. No, we're not doing that today, Dan. We're pulling back the curtain. You shut your mouth up right now, O'Hasson. You shut the fuck up.
Starting point is 00:38:00 It sounds just like them. I love the topic sheet because it's typically typed up in shorthand. So sometimes there's things that I see here that I don't know what the hell is happening. And the first one I have on this card right here says, courtesy of Trista, Michael Porter Jr. is not gay, underscore. I'm overly straight. I just like women so much that even though I'm a Christian, if I was a woman, I'd be still into women. That's a direct quote. Is that verbatim? All right, throw in the video. Maybe I got it wrong. I'm so straight that, Even if I was a girl, I would go against my religion and still like girls.
Starting point is 00:38:48 That's how much I like girls. That's what overly straight means. Okay. Caird it. Courtesy of curious Mike. Oh, boy. What kind of curious are you? I love women.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Women, women, women. Tick ring.
