I think we're gonna, I think we're gonna see this through with JJ McCarthy, at least through spring practice, and then we'll reassess the quarterback situation and decide whether or not we need to make a move and whether or not we're interested in Aaron Rodgers, which is an interesting decision.

And it now kind of puts everybody in a predicament because Aaron Rodgers has said that his preference is to go to Minnesota and that if he didn't go there, he might retire, or he might go to Pittsburgh, or he might go to New York. And we're trying to figure that out. But in the meantime, the Steelers have just been waiting to see what it is that Aaron Rodgers does.

The Giants have been waiting to see what it is that Aaron Rodgers does. The Giants might trade up to get the number one pick in the draft and draft Cam Ward, so they don't know what they're gonna do at the quarterback position. And right now it seems like the Vikings are calling all the shots and they've decided,

we're going to kind of put everyone on hold right now while we figure out whether or not we like JJ McCarthy who was our first round draft pick last season and then got injured and we didn't know what to do with him so we signed Sam Darnold which he had already been signed but he was a backup he became the starter they lost him to the Seahawks so if you've been living under a rock now you kind of know what's been going on football in Minnesota for the past year or so. So headline, we're kind of just going to play the waiting game now with Minnesota and see what they got to do and Aaron Rodgers needs to maybe make a decision or maybe not. It sounds like everybody

is learning what the Aaron Rodgers at the end of his Green Bay tenure was like, which is a whole lot of wishy washy. It's a whole lot of wishy-washy. It's a whole lot of maybe, I don't know. We didn't get this as bad as the play was on the field. We didn't get this with the Jets. He was always in. He was always all in. And this is probably just as frustrating because if you're a Steelers fan right now, what are your other options? You burn the bridge with Russell Wilson. There is no other quarterback that can possibly, possibly make you a decent contender right now. It's not me. Well, listen, James Winston with DK Medcalf

and George Pickens might be the, like I would watch Hard Knocks every episode if they just followed them around. Like all I want is that. So if you're if you're a Steelers fan, I don't know what your other option is. But to sit around and wait for Aaron Rogers to decide whether or not he wants to come to your point about Aaron Rogers, I don't think there's a team he's ever been more committed to than the Jets.

Even the end of his relationship with the Jets, he wanted to stay and they didn't want him, which is the weirdest thing ever. Green Bay is like, I don't know about Green Bay anymore. I'm tired of being there. Jets, he loves. He really wants to go to Minnesota for some reason, but they don't really want him. Do you even want, like if you're the Steelers, I know this is going to sound crazy, but if you're the Steelers or the Giants, where you've basically been told, like, I don't really wanna go there unless I absolutely have to, like,

is that who you want kind of in your locker room? Because as it is, there's already all the other stuff that comes with Aaron Rodgers, where it's like, is he a distraction? Is he this, is he that? And now you have an Aaron who's not necessarily even entirely committed to being there the whole time. I mean you do because you don't have another option. Yeah your other

option is is Mason Rudolph and like you know thanks but I'd rather just wait this out. Yeah I'd rather just wait this out. Yeah. All right. Well, that was that headline. Mikey, do you have a headline? I do. There is a certain quarterback who is flying up draft boards right now.

Mel Kuiper has Jackson Dart out of Ole Miss going 12th to the Saints. This is the highest I've seen him picked and I think it's absolutely bonkers for Mel to even consider the Saints taking a quarterback right now, let alone Jackson Dard, who might not be a second round pick, you know, talent wise, but they are committed next year to Derek Carr for a $69 million cap hit. You cannot be drafting your quarterback of the future with that price tag waiting for next year. You can't do it.

There's no point in paying, and there's no getting out of the Derek Carr, because what you kept doing was you kept pushing the cap hit and pushing the cap it until eventually it's all going to come to a head next year with 69 million dollars and I just don't see how you could take a quarterback and do anything other than bench him for two years then why take it? Why not wait till next year and see what else you can get? Is this uh how does this compare in your opinion to what the Falcons did last year after signing Kirk Cousins giving him a big deal and then drafting Michael Pennex right after?

So I think when they drafted Michael Pennex they knew that going into this draft class it was not going to be a very good it was not going to be a very good draft class. So they wanted to make sure while they had an opportunity to get a guy they could. They were also a little worried about Michael Pennex's medicals. He had a lot of injuries in college so they wanted him to sit and to learn a little bit. At the end of 2026 the Falcons can get out of the Kirk Cousins business for 45 million dollars I realized that's still a big hit but it's not almost 70 million dollars like 70 million dollars is isn't it is an entire defensive line if you

play your your cards right so I I think it's a little bit there they're they're a little similar, but the Falcons. Thought they were going to need Kirk cousins longer than they do. Yeah. All right, where do you see should door going? I know that's not the game that we're playing, but Jackson Dart is flying up the boards. Where should do we're going to go? I don't see how the Giants pass on a quarterback. The only the the question becomes do the Giants move up to one for Cam Ward? I mean I'm sure there's still

some questions in Tennessee if they're gonna take the quarterback. They could take Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter and and be run running back one year with Will Levis but I don't see how should or goes past the Giants, especially if Cam Ward goes number one overall. Do we think that Will Levis is going to go on the Redemption Tour at some point? Is he gonna have like a Sam Darnold, Geno Smith type year somewhere, or is a team gonna convince themselves that they can do that with Will Levis and give him a shot? I don't, I mean, I don't see it. I don't see Will Levis having this redemption tour

because I just don't think he's that good. I think he can't get out of his own way. I think Will Levis is much more likely to go the Jameis Winston tour, where it's like he's gonna go back somebody up, he's gonna come in and he's gonna be like, oh yeah, that guy, he's so good. Oh, look what he just did, nevermind.

I feel like we laugh at Jameis Winston a lot. Jameis Winston, so he's only 31, but I see a world in which Jamis Winston, I mean, he's been in the league already 10 years. Jamis Winston can easily be like a 17 year NFL vet, I think. Oh, yeah. Like very easily. Make no mistake about it. The number one quarterback I wanted for the New York Jets going into this offseason was Jamis Winston. That was who I wanted because I figured if we're going to be bad we might as

well be entertaining and James has got all the talent in the world he just has to get out of his own way. Yeah. Zach Wilson was introduced this week to the Dolphins. Ugh. How'd that go? It was, you know, I think that they were expecting it to be something not the best. Oh, by the way, also, here's a quick headline, because I think Mike Funtas is going to get to it, but we're running out of time this segment. Here's a headline. The Cincinnati Bengals decided to give all of their money to their two receivers. They've not learned anything, and they're going to have two receivers making 80 billion dollars a year. And they're going to trade their one player on defense that was worth anything because they paid their wide receivers and their quarterback all of the money. All of it.

introduced a new segment on this show. We pretty much just play the same segments every week. More Mike Lee, winners and losers during the season, headlines, you know, all the segments that we do. So I'm really excited about this and I've been waiting to do this specifically for March Sadness just because it's bracket themed. It's called God Bless Football's Brackets Bonanza. And I haven't really given you guys a ton of information

on how this works just yet, but we're gonna play it as a group today. So Mikey, myself, Mike Fuentes, GQ if he wants to play is allowed to play as well. So- You're excited about this. Like you have been since I saw the light bulb pop on just before we started recording and you're like I have an idea

Yeah, I have a good idea. It's called God bless football's brackets bonanza And this is how it works and I feel like you guys are gonna Misunderstand how it works originally and I'm gonna have to clear things up, but I'm gonna shoot you straight so this is how God bless football's Bracket Bonanza works. So because, and in honor of March Madness going on presently, I think what we could do here today is we can construct a bracket style tournament with the AFC teams and the NFC teams. And what we'll do is we're going to seed them one through seven.

The one seed will get a buy. And then we will do is we're gonna seed them one through seven The one seed will get a buy and then we will have the five face off against the four the six against three the seven Against the two and like that one side will be the AFC the other side will be the NFC And then we're gonna kind of go bracket style have them competing against each other and then decide an ultimate winner of God-blessed footballs Brackets bonanza. Okay. Isn't this just called the playoffs? Well, some people would say that, but this is different. There's a very big difference and this is, this is why it's different.

Okay. In the playoffs, there's reseating in God bless football's brackets bonanza. There is not like not reseating, but you realign the matchup so that the highest seat always faces the lowest seat, et cetera. Not how it's going to work today. Not in brackets bonanza, there is not. The one seed gets a buy and the one seed, I hate to say it, gonna play the winner of the five and four, the winner of the six and three playing the seven and two, so on and so forth. So what we're gonna have to do here collectively, myself, Mike Ye, Mike Fuentes, some people would say, is this the season ended today?

No, this is God bless football's brackets bonanza. Sure. So what we're going to have to do first is we're going to have to seed the different conferences. So I would like to suggest, and I don't know if you guys feel as strongly as I do, but I think we should start in the AFC. I want to make a suggestion for the one seed

and see if it's OK with you guys if that's all right All right Okay, I want to I want to pencil in the bills at the one seed next season. I think Okay, next season next season. Okay. Yeah. Okay Well, well, what what were you thinking? Well, I mean the chiefs were 15 and two this year. So she's were but we're we're But we're into next season. Yeah, we're looking ahead here. We're looking ahead. Yeah, we're looking ahead.

We're looking ahead. Next season. Do you guys have any issues with me penciling the bills in as a one seed? No. Okay, so the bills are going to get the buy in brackets bonanza. Would you like to have any suggestions on seedings or anything of the like or you want me to just keep suggesting if we have any differences of opinions will work on it. I like I like suggesting. Yeah, I like this. Okay, I'm gonna say the chiefs gotta be the two.

Yeah, Mike, you can have an opinion. I'll just just out of respect like the chiefs gotta be the two seed, right? Well, I was gonna go Baltimore to see chiefs three seed. But you know, no No that's fine. We can do Chiefs. We'll do Chiefs to you want to do Ravens 3 or do we think maybe the Chargers are going to make a run here? Nope I like the Ravens at 3. Ravens at 3

okay. Who do we like at 4? Do we have faith that the Texans will bounce back? Are the Chargers gonna come up swinging? The Steelers don't have a quarterback right now. I don't know where we're gonna put them. That was gonna be my question.

Do they get Aaron Rodgers? Well, this isn't if the season ended today. So we can project that. You know what? I'm going off board. I'm going off board. Yeah. The Bengals. The Bengals. That's who I was gonna gonna say they have Joe Burrow. I like the Bengals. Yeah. You know, they have two very rich receivers. Let's go to the Bengals.

All right. We could put the Bengals there. I was flirting with the Bengals not even making the bracket, but that's fine. No way. The Bengals are four seed. That's fine. That's fine. The Bengals, they, at the very least next year. They'll be fun You know, they'll have to score 50 to win every game, but they'll be fun Texans do we see the Texans in here anywhere? I Have the Texans off the board off the bear hole problem their whole problem last year was They couldn't protect CJ Stroud and then all they did was get rid of their two best linemen and sign a one year stopgap at left tackle.

So I just don't see the Texans having a good year. CJ Stroud is going to is going to develop the yips if he's getting hit on every play. Here's my question for Brackets Bonanza. Do we have to have an AFC South team? No, sure. Why not? No, I love that. I love that about this. I love that about this. Then I'm going to the Chargers at five. Chargers at five. Okay. And then we have two slots left. You don't want anyone in the AFC South. You have said I kind of like the Broncos.

I like the Broncos. And I'd probably say just because of the great unknown, probably the Steelers. All right. I'm gonna go off board a little bit. I'm gonna throw it. I just wanna throw it out there. Not saying it should be, I'm just throwing it out there.

The Patriots. Wow. Okay The Patriots. Wow. Okay. I like the Patriots in just to just because of the unknown. So then do we leave out the Broncos or do we leave out the the Steelers Steelers? Steelers Broncos are in at six and then at seven we will put in the Patriots. Now we're gonna hop over the NFC real quick before brackets finances really gets interesting. Okay, so at the one seed and the NFC, who are we liking? I mean, it's hard to say,

it's hard to go against the Eagles. They lost their third D tackle, their second D tackle. They've still got like a lot of draft capital. They all right. So we'll see good moves. I'm going to say that Eagles to seed. Can I sneak a commander's in there? I was going to say I like it. I like it. Okay, we're going to sneak the commanders in at the two seed. The Lions, how far will the Lions fall? I have them borderline in. I have them as a seven.

I have them as a seven. Okay, I like that. Wow. Okay, Lions at seven. Packers, step up this season. Fairs. Yeah. Fairs?

I think I have the Packers a little lie to be honest. Really? Okay, where do you have the Bears? At three? No, not at three. You still got Tampa Bay and Baker Mayfield will always have that. And the Vikings are still going to be okay. Like I think. You want to put the... Okay. Why don't we put the Bears at five? Can I do something real quick? Everybody's so low on the Vikings, but then everybody almost hated Sam Darnold. So now they get rid of Sam Darnold and then we hold it against the Vikings

even though nobody thought that Sam Darnold was that great. Right, am I wrong? I plugged in the Bucks at three, the Bears at five. So we need a four and a six. We still have the Rams, we still have the Vikings. Sam Darnold, is he gonna be the answer in Seattle? Michael Penick is going to lead the Falcons all season. Cowboys. San Francisco lost their entire team. Yeah, 49ers are out of it. Sorry 49ers fans. So we have

two slots left, the four and the six. What are we thinking? Give the Rams the six. I want the Rams in there. I want I'm a LA guy. Put the Rams in. And then and then I'll let Fuentes pick the NFC North team he wants. And I'm telling you the Rams, I love a Devonte Adams signing. I think you're gonna see a really good year from them next year. We have them at six already so we need a four. Vikings. Vikings okay. All right I like how we go from the Vikings won't make the playoffs to their 4 seed. That's fine. No, I just don't understand like nobody likes Sam Darnold there.

He wins 14 games, then they get rid of Sam Darnold, and then we still don't like the Vikings. So they got rid of the part that nobody liked and then this guy's supposed to be better. I don't know. It's weird. All right. So now that we have our teams and our brackets seated, it's time to play Bracket Bonanza! Alright, so we're gonna head to the AFC and we're gonna have the 5 and the 4 match up the Chargers against the Bengals. Who do we like? Chargers.

Really? Wow. Okay. I was leaning Bengals there. Listen, Fuentes, you're the deciding vote. Yeah. He is an LA guy. Yeah, but the Chargers offense isn't that great,

but then the Bengals defense isn't that great. Yeah, it sucks. I'm gonna go Chargers. All right. Their defense is better. All right, we then have the Broncos and the Ravens Number six and number three seed the Broncos and the Ravens I love bracket bonanza

better offensive line. I'm putting down the Bears because Bear down Billy. So, that's two out of three. So, we're gonna just keep him. Of course. Rams and bucks. Fuentes is a noted LA guy. Big Rams, big on the Rams. Let's go. Big on the bucks.

Big on the bucks. You know what I was surprised, Mike Ye, now that you said that, I'm surprised they resigned Godwin. I thought he was for sure done there after the injuries and how much it was going to cost. I'm surprised that they brought him back. He's a great player.

Don't get me wrong. I didn't think they were going to, yeah, like the money wise and stuff like that. So it's on you. I don't like the deciding vote. I'm going to put the Rams. I like the ball. Oh, I like the I like the Bucks.

I like the Bucks better, but I feel like Baker is always capable of having a Baker game, and that might be the game. It's funny. It's funny how you say he can have a Baker game and yet that goes both ways. Yeah exactly And then we have the number seven Lions against the number two commanders in a big revenge game That games in Washington, yeah the higher seed. That game's So the number one seed bills are going to take on the number five seed chargers. I love that matchup. Oh, man, I love that matchup.

Give me the upset, give me the upset, give me the chargers. Wow, Fuentes. I don't trust Herbert. Do it. No, I don't trust Herbert. But you trust Josh Allen in the playoffs? Yeah. I mean, the only person he can't beat is Mahomes. I should say it's not Josh Allen.

Okay, Fuentes? Yeah, it's chiefs. Oh, I was gonna go bills, all right. So the chiefs are back in it again. What is that? We have the five seated bears against the two seated commanders. Guys, Fuentes, I'll give you the first shot okay I'm gonna say the Bears because the ultimate conflict bear down Billy versus chiefs kingdom Billy

in the cerebral oh I don't like that I'm going commanders guys doing to me exactly what you do to StuGots every week. Making him be the deciding vote. I'm gonna go commanders. Wow, commanders versus chiefs. I think the bears might be a year, they're a year away from being a year away, maybe. Or they're just a year away, I don't know.

Whatever that saying is. So we have a battle of two seeds here in the championship for brackets bonanza the number two Seated chiefs against the number two seated commanders. Who do we like? You'd be the chiefs, okay Fuentes. Yeah the chiefs the chiefs Commanders, all right. Well regardless so Congratulations to the chiefs. I mean, they didn't three-peat. They're not necessarily going to the Super Bowl next year,

Like NBA teams there's maybe like one or two franchises like at the top that are like gonna be worth crazy amount of money where NFL teams are

always gonna be worth a crazy amount of money. I mean let's be real all the teams are gonna be worth a crazy amount of money. But to your point, if a middle of the road team is going for the same as one of the premier teams in the NBA, NFL team. Yeah, I'm gonna agree with Billy, mainly because the Commanders are a historic NFL franchise. They have a lot of, like, like Gibbs era, all that stuff, very long tradition with the commanders.

So even like maybe I would say there'd be a little bit of an argument if it was like the Jacksonville Jaguars or like a lower tier franchise of the NFL. Cause obviously the Boston Celtics are one of two premier franchises of the NBA. If they both fail, the answer should be Cam Ward. If they both fail. If he goes number one in the draft and he fails, he will, even if they both fail at the same time,

if he's the number one pick, he would be the bigger bust. Shador is getting so much hate that I believe everyone wants him to fail, just to begin with.
