Starting point is 00:01:38 Black history money. Black history money. I'm sorry, Juju. What are you doing? You do it to him all the time. Unbelievable. I'm sorry, Juju. God bless you, I mean, I'm sorry, you doing you do it to him all the time. Unbelievable. I'm sorry, juju. God bless you.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Professionalism in this place. What's the thing? Change the screen on me on purpose. I know they did. I was able to be able to be able to be able. Like he would never do that intentionally. He knows that. Well, I would just not to juju. Right. But no, the other hand.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Billy, I'm going to miss radio rope. Yeah, me too. I know. It's hitting me. It's winding down. It's like it's the last week of senior year, man. I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:02:14 It's been a fun week, juju. Hell, yeah, man. It's been cool. So much love everywhere. I know. Next next year, fellas. Nice little party city. New Orleans.
Starting point is 00:02:24 You know, I had a lot shorter trip. Oh my god. I will finally be on East Coast time We're gonna be central is it central it's not Eastern. Yeah, okay, I'll take us enough. Yeah But I'll take an hour behind. I'm good with that. Yeah, the three hours throws you off Yeah, are you excited when you fly out of Vegas? Me well our flight is so late that I honestly, I can't sleep on planes. I hope I'm able to sleep on this flight. What's your flight? It's like midnight to the red eye. Yeah. I don't sleep on planes. Really? Never. I on the way in, I fell asleep with 20 minutes left on the flight. And then they do a little like we're starting now, right? The descent
Starting point is 00:03:04 into Las Vegas and it woke me up. I was like, Oh do a little, like we're starting now. Right. But this sent into Las Vegas and it woke me up. I was like, oh my God. Two words, Tylenol, nighttime. Right, yeah. Yeah. Or dog walker. What happened there? Nyquil.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Really Nyquil is your go-to thing for sleeping? Is it? Okay. We have a nice episode coming up for you. We catch up with an old friend Ray Wingo Billy was a never a tray look. Yeah, the tan on Trey Wingo. Trey Wingo doesn't know who I am Yes, he does a thousand percent. He was very he was very careful about never saying a name for me Which is great. I think he recognizes you just doesn't maybe not know the name. That's fine. Call a champ or buddy or no, he didn't say anything. He didn't say anything
Starting point is 00:03:51 just to be just to be safe. We're gonna have Colts want we're gonna have Colts want receiver Mike Pittman on as well. He's very sturdy neck. Like he a like he's how Davis nails. Yeah, well, I see him like a dang sturdy Take your word for it. Take the tape sturdy neck Billy was super excited and she was great. Annie Agar is gonna join us. Yeah Yeah, she's a queen of social media all her videos are fantastic Sis. All right, so the great Annie Agar, who I'm a big fan of, know her work very well, she's going to join us on this episode.
Starting point is 00:04:29 And then we catch up with an old friend and really a new friend to Billy. Friends. Now, I'm telling you, we come to Radio Row. We have all these guests on. And still the highlight of my week is Chris Sims and Billy Gil. It's amazing, man. Every time. I gotta be honest with you, when we saw each other, we did both seem genuinely happy to see each other.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Juju and I were walking him across from his setup to our setup. And Sims kept saying, where is Billy? Right. He's got been friends with Sims for 15 years. Every time I see him though, where's Billy? Yeah. The's my guy. The coolest part was, the coolest part when he got here, you was looking regular and then you changed
Starting point is 00:05:10 into his favorite hoodie. He was so cool, bro. I think this is an interesting week for our friend for Sims. I will go to him first here. He's great, but it's an interesting week from this standpoint. He's a big time member of the media. And his best friend has a chance of winning. It's his best friend.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Since he's staying for the game, usually he goes home and his best friend has a chance to win the Super Bowl. That's gotta be a little bit difficult. You know, Billy, like you're supposed to remain neutral, but in this particular spot, I think that's impossible, right? It's definitely hard for him. Yeah. I mean, I wouldn't blame him if he was rooting for Kyle Shanahan.
Starting point is 00:05:46 If I'm him, I just lie. Right, right, right. I just lie. Who cares about credibility? Thank you. Been saying that for years. Let's get to our friend, Chris Sims. It is amazing that even on radio row, even during Super Bowl week, the thing we look forward to most is Chris. The feeling is mutual, I will say. I don't believe that. Well, like, OK, here's like, if you in all honesty, like I'm a fanboy. So like when I see, you know, Michael Parsons or Warren Sapp or whatever,
Starting point is 00:06:21 talking about us, you were a fanboy. I am a fanboy, but like that. Not the same thing to be on that. Not to that extent. So I'm like, so I love all of that. But when you talk about like, we're gonna get behind the mic and talk and do some stuff, this is definitely one of my favorite things I do.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Why I don't know, I must be f***ed up in the head to be like talking to you so much, Billy. But you wore my favorite sweatshirt, so I'm extra excited to be here. He actually brought it. We had a live show this morning, and Billy was smart enough, and we're so busy running all over the place that Billy packed this in his suitcase just for you.
Starting point is 00:06:53 You want to know the truth? So I actually wore this on Tuesday, and it's the only day that I didn't see you this week. And then I had to go do this shoot that we were doing on a zipline, and it was in the rain. So I was soaking wet, so I had to change my clothes. So when I came back, I wasn't wearing it anymore. I'm like, I'm going to blow this somehow.
Starting point is 00:07:07 And then when we saw you today, I'm like, I got to take it. This covers up a lot. It feels like we're at home now. It really does. It really does. All the shows you missed this year. That was not on me. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:19 He got to test the fact that he kept moving me around. It wasn't on Billy. OK. That's family. I like talking to you. OK. It's family as I want. I like talking to you. I know that you might not believe it, but. No, Chris, this is I'm telling you. And I appreciate what you said.
Starting point is 00:07:31 This for me and Billy is the most enjoyable part of our week. This is so fun. Yes. No, but just Super Bowl 2, this is like, I don't know why people don't like this. This is so cool. I'm with you. I've taken the, like, I used to be the guy that, like,
Starting point is 00:07:44 we came here and then, like, as soon as Friday was over, I was like, I'm getting out of here, right? But I've gotten, I don't know if I'm getting older or whatever, but I'm just like, man, this is awesome. I mean, first off, it's the first Super Bowl in Vegas. Yes. I mean, it's my home's in the Chiefs. Yes. It's the 49ers, one of the greatest organizations in the sport, right? I mean, it doesn't get any bigger than this. I got ball, I mean, ballers of ballers are coming into sport, right? I mean, it doesn't get any bigger than this. I got ball, I mean, ballers of ballers are coming into town, right? I got some friends who are like high rollers
Starting point is 00:08:10 who are literally like, I lose a million dollars a year at this casino. I can't get two tickets to the Super Bowl, right? And I'm like, you can't get tickets. They're asking me. And I'm like, you can't get, you're asking me. You're Mr. I have everything all the time. Tell them to lose five million. Right. I have everything all the time. Tell him to lose $5 million.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Right. But if you lose $1 million, just go and buy tickets for like $10,000. Well, that's, but no, it's even hard that way. Like I've told a few like people I know that like have some like, hey, if you got tickets, I got a friend that like, will pay $20,000 for tickets. Like people do that.
Starting point is 00:08:41 And can't get them. And he still, it's hard to get them right now. How is this one different? Because I know you have to be down the middle on this stuff and you're covering the game and all that But your best friend is coaching the superman. I'm emotionally invested in a big way. Yeah, I really as you should be I mean you have a tattoo of his face on your fire It's on my ass, actually. I found your tattoo. Let me find the tattoo that I found that I told you that he had of him.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Right, but I'm surprised because Chris is normally, and I understand what you're saying as you get older, but on Friday you tend, like you like to watch the game at home, but you're staying this year. I'm staying. And you're staying, all your boys are in town, family's in town, you want to see your best friend win one. I want to see my best friend win one.
Starting point is 00:09:23 A guy that is, without question, one of the best coaches in football, right? And has taken some unnecessary heat. And yeah, this is big to his legacy. Like without a doubt, I don't think anybody doubts he's one of the best coaches in football, but he loses this. It's all going to be like, oh, shit,
Starting point is 00:09:40 a hand can't win the big game. He can't do that. So like I'm not down the middle on this. I'm all week. I've told everybody. I am like, I am going to be total Psycho 49ers fan Sunday. I am going to be the whole week. But I'm picking the chiefs to win the game.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Oh, what are you doing? I am. To win, win, though. I mean, I just, I got to be, I feel like I got to, you guys know me. I'm just too real to go against what I see football and exes and O's wise. Yeah. Right. Well it's too late now. It's important. I'm with you on this because I'm not going to make the mistake again. They went to Baltimore and beat Lamar Jackson. Right. They went to Buffalo. They beat Josh Allen. I'm not picking against my homes again. Of course. That's some of the logic here. Here's my biggest thing, right, guys? Like, I think if both teams play their best football, the 49ers are better.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Right. If they both come out A plus football Sunday afternoon, the 49ers will win the game. But they haven't been. We haven't seen that since early December. No, but he's saying their A game is better than the Chiefs. No, I know. We haven't seen it. So December. Nobody's saying their A game is better than the Chiefs. No, I know. We haven't seen it.
Starting point is 00:10:45 So that is where I get into it. Like, it's been seven weeks since we saw that 49er team. Right. They were outplayed by the Packers. They were outplayed by the Lions. Probably should have lost both games, right? Yep. The Chiefs somehow miraculously, right,
Starting point is 00:11:00 looked like a B minus football team the whole year, and then New Year's came, and they were like, we're going to be a Super Bowl champ. And it's like, I was like you a little bit like, there's no way nobody can do that. You just the NFL, that doesn't happen. We just snap a finger and we go, here we're going to be good again, right?
Starting point is 00:11:14 And then to do that in Buffalo and what we saw in Baltimore, I am astounded by it. That's why they're amazing. But yes, it feels like the 49ers peaked too early and the Chiefs are in the process of peeking right now Can the 49ers regain that magic in the last two weeks off before this game? You know again Those are things that I haven't seen a whole lot in my lifetime as far as this game the magnitude of this game and all that
Starting point is 00:11:40 So that's why yeah, I mean my football brain is saying Chiefs 23-20. Right. My heart and emotions are totally behind the 49ers. They're going to be going all in on that. Oh, nothing wrong with that. I mean, again, it's what he feels first. I feel like I'd be lying to my fans and my people out there, right? I think a lot of people thought I was going to pick the 49ers just because of that. And I picked the 49ers to beat the Chiefs the first time around. And by the way, you would pick the 49ers. You're not doing it because people are like, oh, he's going to pick guys.
Starting point is 00:12:05 No, I picked the 49ers the first time I played, because I just thought the 49ers were better. I was like, they're better than the chiefs. And I honestly think they were better. Yes. It's just they got a guy that plays quarterback like you just talked about that's a magic maker. Does Kyle know?
Starting point is 00:12:18 Like he's very smart. He appears to be very self-aware. Right. He knows this is big for his legacy. He knows. You've had that discussion with him. I mean he knows. He's very aware of that. The cool thing about Kyle is he doesn't hide from any of that stuff. It's easy to talk to him about it. I think at the end of the day it's not going
Starting point is 00:12:39 to make or break Kyle the person or who he is, yeah, he wants this. He's the ultimate competitor. And, you know, on top of that, unfairly, I think, judge, you guys have heard me say before, for some reason, they blew a 28 to three lead in the Super Bowl as he was the offensive coordinator. And I'm still, my brain wants to explode. They blame Kyle Shanahan. Wait, the defense ahead coach,
Starting point is 00:13:05 the new head coach of the commanders was up 28 to three in the Super Bowl and we blame the off as a coordinator. This is insane. And still getting blamed at this day. I got a defendant 20 times this week. What was he doing? Last time I was told the head coach
Starting point is 00:13:21 is the one that manages the game. Hey, off as a coordinator, run the ball. Hey, I don't want this here or there. That's what all great coaches do. And then of course the last Super Bowl because they lost in that way. That goes against him. And I don't necessarily think that was him. I just think that's the greatness of the Chiefs.
Starting point is 00:13:37 One of my favorite things, I'm sorry Billy, to cut you off, is you getting wound up and watching Billy's reaction to you getting wound up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because he like wants to agree, he likes it, but he wants to be an asshole and say something challenging. He just likes when your arms are flailing, he's talking fucking cursing. Who was the quarterback that you were intimidating with? He started throwing up on the ground. Oh, yeah, who did I do that with?
Starting point is 00:14:01 I don't remember it. I know, I can't remember either. So you're a fanboy. Who is the person you've been most excited that you've talked to so far? But like, gosh, we've had some good ones this week, right? Justin Jefferson would be up there because he's cool as hell. Jamar Chase, right?
Starting point is 00:14:16 Cool as hell. I think the one, like no doubt was the most excited for this week was Josh Allen. Yeah. Right, they told me last week, they were like, hey, we think Josh Allen's gonna come by the set on for this week was Josh Allen. Yeah. They told me last week they were like, hey, we think Josh Allen's going to come by the set on Thursday. And I was like, the guy on the Jaguars? I was like, there's no way Josh Allen in the quarterback
Starting point is 00:14:32 is going to be making his way around radio row, right? Usually the big stars of the league don't come here, right? And especially ones that are making $40 plus million a year. So then they were like, no. They actually were like, wait, we're not even sure. We need to check that. And I was like, yeah, they actually were like, wait, we're not even sure we need to check that. And I was like, yeah, it might be due to check that, right? Right. So but he came by the day and I just I love Josh Allen. I do. I love the person. You know, I love the talent, right? Everything he does there. I like how he handles himself. So I would probably say like seeing him and Dion today. I saw Dean. I didn't get to interview Dion, but I'm always, I mean, Dion, prime time,
Starting point is 00:15:06 come on, it doesn't get any cooler than that. So Josh is coming here in a half hour. What have we talked to him about Chris? Come on. How'd it go with you? It went good. I mean, you know, we, I like, I don't want it. I don't get into too serious of stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:18 We did a little bit. The difference is, is that he knows who you are and respects you, where he doesn't know, he neither knows who we are nor respects us. So it's not going to go the same way it went for you. Well, tell him that I'm a friend of the show. All right. And that might get you in some good graces. Okay. But you're going to have fun talking to him. Right. And he doesn't just give you normal BS canned answers. That's where you like it. Sneaky funny. He's sneaky funny. He really is. The problem is though, if we get into his good graces,
Starting point is 00:15:45 I know that Stugatz is going to throw me under the bus and immediately get us in his bad graces. Because like two years ago, or maybe it was last, I think it was last season, we were doing this thing where we were talking about Josh Allen. And I said in jest that he had a stupid face. Because every time he throws an interception, they kind of zoom in on his face.
Starting point is 00:16:02 And he's just like deep in thought. And he's just like kind of like looking off at the distance. So I said he had a stupid face. And then that turned into a whole thing and then Dan wanted to put billboards around Buffalo and then the city got mad at us. So time has gone by. And I feel like that's forgotten. And if he ever knew about that, there's no way he'd be thinking about that, right? And he never knew who did that. But I know that someone here to my left will immediately bring that up. I'd be disappointed if he doesn't. Yeah, but that's gonna. My man. But if he does, if he does, it's gonna tank the entire interview. Right. I mean, and why you're asking him this, I'm sure somebody back here with all this million
Starting point is 00:16:35 dollars of DraftKings f***ing stuff you got here, find a picture of Billy Dumbface. I don't like that. I'm sure he's made Dumbfaces before. He's thrown some interceptions on this show before. What? Yes. Can I tell you why I said it? Because that was when Tua had that thing where he got the concussion. You know that little thing, the concussion situation.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Yeah. So he had the concussion. Then we had a guy that used to be a wrestler that turned into a doctor on saying that Mike McDaniels should be charged with murder, even though he was alive. So then we were going down that path, and I'm like, how do I please get this conversation out? The Dolphins won the case, by the way.
Starting point is 00:17:07 So you went to Bill's Josh Allen dumb face? They had just beat the Dolphins. They had destroyed the Dolphins. So then it's like, oh, to a murder, all this stuff. I'm like, Josh Allen is a dumb face, huh? And then I thought we'd just move on, and then it stuck with me forever. You know he's the smartest quarterback in football, right?
Starting point is 00:17:21 He's also a really good golfer. Yeah, but no joke. I think his Wonderlix score was out of all the starting quarterbacks in football, right? He's also a really good golfer. Yeah, but no joke. I think his Wonderlick score was out of all the starting quarter-rex in football right now. I think Josh Allen has the highest Wonderlick score. So, Sam, I need to leave with that question. What was your Wonderlick score? Not that great.
Starting point is 00:17:35 I mean, it was good. It wasn't great. Is that one of those things, like when you're in school and you want to go, I could take honors, Spanish, whatever, let me tank it and pretend like I don't know anything. Like you take a Wonderlick and you're like, ah, it doesn't matter how this comes out,
Starting point is 00:17:45 why am I even gonna try it? Definitely not, no, no, you try to. There was some other ones where I was, other tests, like the Giants gave me a two hour personality test, and I got to like question 375, and I was literally like, wait, I've been at practice all day.
Starting point is 00:18:00 You grew up with the organization. The Giants don't know you. I started filling in B, whole way down the last hundred questions And I came out of the room and I said if you guys don't know me then nobody does yeah, right? And I then started to fall down trap boards For other teams like I don't really want to go One or two that I definitely got and I was like this is how many times are they gonna ask me Do I like a cat more than a dog? Yeah, and I was like, this is how many times are they gonna ask me, do I like a cat more than a dog?
Starting point is 00:18:25 Yeah. And I'm like, what the f***? And I'm frustrated and I'm like, forget it. I don't care. Do you like a cat more than a dog? I like cats. I love animals. Yeah, a cat or dog. I like them all though.
Starting point is 00:18:37 A cat or dog though. I mean, it's a big difference. Yeah. We got to count. Cats are creepy to me. Yeah, see, they're not creepy to me. Cats are extremely like amazing, the most self-sufficient animal in the world, right?
Starting point is 00:18:49 Who's smart, who can be a friend of our dogs, literally like, tell me what you want. Very needy. Yeah. I don't even know how to eat. I don't know how to s***. I don't know how to do anything. Just tell me what it's like.
Starting point is 00:18:58 You've got enough of that in your life. You can't eat it. It's your wife. I'm starting to understand why you fell down the draft board. Maze or red flag. Michael Pittman just told us actually that he gives his kids treats for pooping. Poop treats. Yeah, that's a great idea, man.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Poop treats. Right. Like, it is a good idea, but what resonates with kids better than sugar, right? Nothing. Right. So I could get that. In fact, I'm disappointed I never thought of that myself. We told him to give Anthony Richardson slide treats.
Starting point is 00:19:26 Damn. He doesn't keep getting drilled. Is he teaching them out in the yard? Is he like putting it out? Like, here's a treat in the yard, son. I think they're children. That's a good idea by Billy, though. Giving Richardson slide treats so we stop running all the time. I'm worried about it. BFT with Mike Florio every day at Beacock, the unbuttoned podcast as well.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Football Night in America. Chris Sims is with us. People talking about the storylines or the lack of storylines. What the fuck are they talking about? It's just haters. No, but you have Chiefs and Niners. You have a guy chasing Brady going against the last pick of the NFL draft.
Starting point is 00:19:57 How could the storylines get any better? I don't even like, yet to me, I'm looking at it going like, isn't this like the greatest storyline Super Bowl we've had in six years? Yes. I mean, it's literally like, yeah, to me, I'm looking at it going like, isn't this like the greatest storyline Super Bowl we've had in six years? Yes. I mean, it's literally like, wait, we can have a dynasty maybe, officially. We can have a quarterback that goes into a territory where it's only like Akeman, Montana, Bradshaw and Brady.
Starting point is 00:20:17 Yeah. Like what? That's not a storyline. Yep. Andy Reed talk of maybe retiring after the year. Good storyline. Brock Purdy is not only good, there's not any good, there's no game manager.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Like what a bunch of BS all that is, right? You got that. And then you got like the stuff we just talked about with Shanahan. I mean, Shanahan wins. Everybody's gonna be like, he's one of the greatest coaches in the last 15 years. If he loses, he's gonna be like,
Starting point is 00:20:41 oh, I choked again. Like so there's tons of storylines, let alone Taylor Swift and all the stars are going to be here. Haven't you though, it to be fair, haven't you though said that Brock Purdy could be replaced by people like Matt Jones and they'd still be around the same? Because Kyle says so good. Not that he's just a game manager.
Starting point is 00:20:59 I mean, Jimmy Garoppolo went to the Super Bowl. Exactly. That's all the point I was trying to make. I think it swayed too far though, right? I've said he's got, he's, he does game manage, but like, why is it so negative to be a game manager all the time, right? Yeah. It's not that he's young in his career and he's more than a game manager. First off,
Starting point is 00:21:18 like game manager would also imply a lot of the times that they're kind of simple on offense too. We don't even want to do too much, right? Because we don't know what this guy will do or what will happen. That's not the case with them. They have the most extensive, crazy offense in all of football. And then what I don't like is, like, why is he a game manager? But I'd never heard that would, like, I don't hear that with Jared Goff, right? Like, there's other things I want to point at and go, wait, Jared golf can't move four inches. He needs an offensive line and the running game and everything to be perfect. He had one fourth and two play. He had a hop to the right and he couldn't make the throw. Perti made like 12 backyard
Starting point is 00:22:00 plays in the game and scrambles. He's the manager. Jared Goff's really awesome. Like I'm not saying this to be negative on Jared Goff. I'm just giving food for thought a little bit. I'm like, why do we always see it that way, even though we just watched the game for four hours and one guy made plays and the other guy didn't, and we're going to call him the game manager. That's when you know I get fired up about like stupid.
Starting point is 00:22:21 That's stupid. That's a huge Jared Goff guy. I like Jared Goff. I like him. He made me one still made one that trade mad respect. He's better than Stafford. Well, that's why he's still got. He's been to two Super Bowls. Oh, no, even the one he lost. Right. Stafford went to one and one, but Stafford also needed the right situation. They all the everybody. Well, no, no, but except for like three, five people in the history of football. Well, thank you. I wanted to work this out with you because I think like we always talk about the great quarterbacks and what separates them. Right. For me and you want to, you know, we're splitting the hairs here, but I think it's
Starting point is 00:22:53 like Burrow, Josh Allen of the current quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes, those guys. You put them in any situation. They don't give a f*** who the receivers are. What organization they're with. They're going to be the reason that team wins. So it doesn't matter. Other guys have to be in the right situation. The Bengals were bad forever.
Starting point is 00:23:11 So that's like how I distinguish the great from the good. The Bengals were bad forever. Joe Barrow didn't give a sh**. He walked in there and said, no, now we're great. We're great, I'm here. Yeah, that's right. That's it, right? The Chiefs, like nobody was looking at the Chiefs going,
Starting point is 00:23:24 they're so great. Yes. Right? And here they are. They were like in Medi-Occityville for 50 years. Yes. And he came to town and was like,
Starting point is 00:23:31 they're the coolest thing I've ever seen. Like, right? I mean, now it's like my son, any kid you talk to, it's my homes, my homes, oh my gosh, my homes, my homes. I mean, it's insane what they've done. If you put any of the quarterback side just named on the Jets or in any situation Think of one of the bad teams in the NFL. They'd be instantly become good, right? Yes
Starting point is 00:23:50 Like Super Bowl there. Yeah, that crew those three you just mentioned there. I guess I think they are Transversable whatever the word you want to say they transferable that was the word they can Play in any offense make it work for the most part with any type of support system. And to me, again, that's, it's a low number of players in the history of football, right? But it's Marino, it's far, but it's Rogers, it's Elway, you know, it's Manning, it's Brady. Best of the best. Right. It's those kind of guys. But you put Purdy on the jets and the jets are still the jets right. Right. Well yeah. I mean I think they'd be better than the Zach Wilson jets. No doubt. For sure. Yeah. Okay. Right. I do. This is where like
Starting point is 00:24:34 Purdy with a team like the jets I think because of his savvy and knowing how to play and get the ball out of my hands and instincts he could actually make it happen. I think they're a little bit better than people want to give him credit for in a lot of ways. But yeah, it certainly wouldn't be like, oh, now parties on the jets, they're going to the playoffs. No, not that. You're great at doing this. So if San Francisco wins, the reason they'll win is why? I think it is patience with the run game with McCaffrey, right? I don't think they're gonna make the same mistake the Baltimore Ravens did right that to me is where they dropped the ball Sheeps are gonna load the box, right? They're gonna load the box
Starting point is 00:25:16 But they're gonna help you throw the ball, right? They're really waiting for you. Oh, you got a blitz We're gonna play man. We're gonna disguise it and we're really playing for you to do that So you gotta get you can't be scared by the numbers you can't go. Oh, they got a blitz we're gonna play man. We're gonna disguise it and we're really playing for you to do that So you gotta get you can't be scared by the numbers you can't go Oh, they got eight guys in the box. We got to throw it now You got to have some plays where you just run it stay patient with that. It'll calm down spagnolo That's the big thing it'll calm down the craziness of the disguises as blitzes because you go Oh, I want to bring this blitz
Starting point is 00:25:42 But if I bring this blitz over here to the left and they run this run play to the right, I got some problems stopping that run play. So that's what scares defensive coordinators out of that. I think McCaffrey is a real joker or jack of all trades in this game. And I think the past game is where I look at him to be really going to make his way too.
Starting point is 00:26:03 So I think I wouldn't be shocked in the first driver too You see Shanahan move around McCaffrey just to go okay They played him like this in this formation that is to dial up place for him later on the football game The other aspect is the 49ers got to change what they've been doing on defense right? Yeah, so much space everywhere Yes, you know, I just I can, I'm watching the film. I know my buddy, Shanahan's got to be seeing that and their defense of coaches.
Starting point is 00:26:29 And they sit back and play some of the soft zones they played in the first half against the Lions or how they played against Green Bay. He's gonna kill them. He's gonna kill them. He's gonna shred them apart. And we're gonna go in the first two drives and go, Mahomes is 17 for 20 for 144 already.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Right. And he's just dinking, dunking is 17 for 20 for 144 already. And he's just dinking, dunking and surgically destroying them. They're going to have to play some man, some aggressive, maybe in your face zones or whatever. And they're gonna have to tactically blitz from here every now and then. Cause I don't think their front four is gonna get there on a consistent basis.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Make Pacheco beat you. That's it. That would be the formula for you. Pacheco beat you. Right now the's it. That would be the formula for you. Pacheco beat you. Right now, the Chiefs are, you've heard me talk, it's screens, it's RPOs, it's short pass, it's run ball, run ball. Hey, screen out here.
Starting point is 00:27:14 And then they get the team to come up and play man to man. And then he goes, oh, perfect. There goes MBSD. Woo! Right? So that's really what they're doing. But yeah, I think the Chiefs, I mean, the 49ers got to keep the chiefs off balance a little bit in a more of aggressive frame of mind because once Mahomes and Andy kind of know what you're doing,
Starting point is 00:27:33 they start to dial up the right plays and you're in trouble. Alright, we'll get you out of here. PFT with Mike Florio, the button podcast has been walking around radio row like just like he owns the place. He was here the other day when like CBS was doing a big press conference right. He was walking around like he owned the place. I didn't get to even get him on our show which I was disappointed about right. He was on with belly. Big time by the big f***. That's what I got happen. It fits in it. But no, I mean I went out to dinner with him last night. Had some fun sat with him. Boomer, Howie Long, Chris Long, I had some fun sat with him boomer howie long Chris long, right? Steven a and mad dog were having dinner at a table close to us. I'm sorry. There were two extra seats at this table
Starting point is 00:28:15 There was a dress code and it wasn't for that sweatshirt We all have been like what team is that what color Miami Marlins what they're not that color. Why are you wearing that? I think it's time to go. Billy, we are far away from being invited to that dinner. Both of us. All right, man, we appreciate everything all year. We love you guys. We love you.
Starting point is 00:28:36 We love the Sims family. You guys too. We love the Sims family. Chris, enjoy the game. Good luck to your buddy, man. I know that's going to be emotional for you. It is going to be emotional. I've actually even gotten choked up talking about it a few times, man. I know that's going to be emotional for you. It is going to be emotional. I really, I've actually even
Starting point is 00:28:45 gotten like choked up talking about it a few times this week. I know. I'm not, I'm not invested in it. So we'll see where it goes. You care, Chris. I do care. I try to. I found a picture of your tattoo.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Let me see it. It's our faces back to back. It's roses tied together. What did you do? You little created bastard. He's an evil genius. I mean, how long is it going to
Starting point is 00:29:04 take you to come to the punchline? You little created bastard. You're a second. He's an evil genius. How long is it going to take you to come to the punch line? It was there, and then it went away. And so you got to just fill for a second here. No, it's all right. I mean, we're filled. No, we're watching you squirm.
Starting point is 00:29:15 I like it. I like it. Chris wants to watch you joke. You're squirming. Yeah, I did bad. You can't find it. You lost it? You don't know where it is?
Starting point is 00:29:23 So wait. It's just that mine's a big W with my initial, my friends around it. That's what it really is. Listen, he's gonna edit that porn out, but if God forbid you did it, he would have kept it. Oh yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Of course. I got it. All right. Oh, you got it? All right, he's there. We're a minute away. You need me to fill another minute or? Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Here we go. Here we go. Oh, you're funny. Here we go. Oh, you're funny. I knew it was going to be something stupid. It was worth it though. Oh my gosh. I can't unsee that now. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:29:53 I don't even want to tell the people out there what the hell that was. Oh my God. We love you. Get the hell out of here. All right. I'll see you later. All right.

Starting point is 00:31:46 Hey, hey, hey, hey. And it should be better. It still, it sucks. Come on, Tre. Get out of here. We have some good days. We have some bad days out there. What's your best round?
Starting point is 00:31:54 73 at Kapalua at the Bay Course, not the Plantation Course. That's the best round you've ever played. 73. Really? And I was one under through 13, and I texted my wife and said, oh my God, I'm wondering. She's like, what are you doing? Put down the phone. I bogeyed the next three holes. my wife and said oh my god I'm wondering she's like what are you doing put down the phone? I bogey the next three holes. What's the matter with you? I'm an idiot. Yeah, but your wife is right Yes, you don't brag about your score so that's over really really right on her. How is it on her?
Starting point is 00:32:17 What are you doing? She was trying to help you, and here you are blaming her, man. Minus 1 after 13. You had to call somebody. I had to tell somebody because this will never happen again. Right. But next time, call me. Yes.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Done. Done. OK. I'm just going to unblock your number. No, I'm kidding. I love it. We met in a bathroom. You remember that, right?
Starting point is 00:32:42 That's correct. That is great. He has met at Bristol. 24-hour fantasy marathon. Shreya was walking in. I that? That's correct. He has met at Bristol. 24-hour fantasy marathon. Shreya was walking in. I said, it's the magic of live TV, Billy. He was in a rush. He had to go to the bathroom. We crossed paths for the first time.
Starting point is 00:32:52 He saw me. I saw him. He said, hello. I said, hello. I said, I love your work. He said, I have no idea who you are. He went to the bathroom and went back on TV. Were you just hanging out in the bathroom waiting to see people? I had to go to the bathroom, Billy. It was a 24-hour marathon. He was with Gojo on that one.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Yes, I was. But you remember that moment, right? Oh, absolutely. We locked eyes for a second. And the foundation makes all, but we locked eyes. Yeah. Keep them up here. Keep them up here.
Starting point is 00:33:16 Keep them up here. He has a new pod out, altered it routes. It's available on Amazon. And I can't read my own handwriting. Wondering. Wondering. Thank you for that. He's been a pod writer. He's been a pod writer. It's available on Amazon and I can't read my own one. Wondering. Wondering. Thank you for that.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Biggest thing to read your handwriting. It's on Ultra. It says Amazon and Woody. It says Woody. I have been up for five days. I don't know how you do it, bro. I don't know how you do it. I can't dig deep anymore.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Since you love the NFL and the history of the NFL so much, I know you do. If I told you 20 years ago, 10 years ago, five years ago, Super Bowl in Vegas, you would have told me what. You're crazy. I know you do if I told you 20 years ago 10 years ago 5 years ago Super Bowl in Vegas You would have told me what you're crazy. I know right like I we're all old enough to remember when the NFL Would not let Tony Romo have a fantasy football convention at a Las Vegas hotel. Yes a casino and crazy right now There's a team here. We had the draft here now. We have the Super Bowl here, which means the NFL is Really good at following the money, right? Okay. Yes. That's why it's a $22 billion a year industry. The best. The doors were opened once the Supreme
Starting point is 00:34:09 Court rule changed. We're good. All that stuff we said before. Fuck. Forget about it. Doesn't exist. It's absolutely crazy. Patrick Mahomes versus Brock Purdy. Like we were just talking to Chris Sims about this. The fact that people talk about, hey, I have great storylines in this game. Are you out of your minds? This is two of the storage franchises in the NFL. Yep. There's something about those two teams being on a field together.
Starting point is 00:34:33 They just make sense. Football feels right when the Chiefs are playing the 49ers. You got my home trying to beat the last pick in the NFL draft. Yeah. How are they not storylines? There's plenty of them. Yeah. I don't understand that at all. You know, Kyle Shanahan's storyline is also a great one.
Starting point is 00:34:47 I think there's more pressure on him than anybody else on any team in any level. Pressure meter, I love that. Well, think about it. Third and one in Super Bowl 51, they're up 28 to 12 with eight minutes to play. Seven step drop. Why? Run the ball. Run the ball. Then Super Bowl 54, the rematch that we're seeing this Sunday, they're up 20 to 10 with eight minutes to play and somehow they lose by 11 Yeah, you know and after the chiefs scored to make it 2017 Kyle Shanahan who famously one year handed Had Jimmy Groppel throw it eight times in an NFC champion eight times An NFC championship game ran it on first down got seven yards through it on second and third down incomplete incomplete chiefs
Starting point is 00:35:20 Get the ball back they score and they take the lead I mean like there's more pressure on Kyle Shanan who I think is a great coach but it you know he's got to come through in one of these situations. How about the homes though because I feel like there's pressure there just hear me out of this okay I know he's one too he's lost one you don't want to be the guy that starts having like a 500 record in Super Bowl losing the guys like Brock Purdy. I would agree with that. Yes and if you care about chasing the chasing of history and chasing Tom Brady. Well see this is where you and i will always differ okay and i respect this because i i will never look at the rings as the thing okay that
Starting point is 00:35:53 makes someone great at what they do or not right uh... nobody's getting seven no one's ever getting set i think my home's nose is not getting set at every it's not happening so so for me i look at how they've played and I looked at the numbers over their first six seasons as starters Tom Brady and Patrick Holmes the chiefs under Patrick Holmes have more wins in the regular season than Tom Brady did with the Patriots they have more playoff wins than Tom Brady did with the Patriots he has way more passing yards way more passing touchdowns a better passer rating and fewer interceptions. So the only place in those
Starting point is 00:36:25 first six seasons where Tom has it one up on Patrick is Super Bowl rings. Tom had three through his first six years. If Patrick wins on Sunday or the Chiefs win on Sunday, Patrick will have three and he will have been in four, which is one more. So when you look at it along those lines, that's what we're talking about. We're talking about a guy, I mean he's in his fourth Super Bowl at the age of 28 It's crazy Tom Brady used to be the youngest and it was 30, right? So he's got him by two years I just think we're looking at a guy who was rewriting The way things are done and the knock against him was well, yeah, all those games were home. All right fine
Starting point is 00:36:58 I'll go to Buffalo and supposed to be the bills year there better now. We're gonna win Oh, we got to go Baltimore number one scoring defense They have the MVP they hold them to 10 points. They went 17 to 10 They set the tone early with those first two touchdowns and they couldn't do anything in the second half until they had to make a Play on third and I and they hit Marquess Valda scantling for 32 yards who suddenly grew hands again Yeah, I didn't know you could grow hands After a terrible regular That's how their season was bailed out? When they dropped so many passes the entire season.
Starting point is 00:37:29 38 passes dropped, most in the NFL. And Marquez was awful. Like, you know, the game against the Eagles, the game against, uh, uh, he had one against the Raiders where Patrick hit him right here and he dropped it. They went like this, throw it, I said, no, catch the ball! You put your hands on it. Catch the damn ball.
Starting point is 00:37:46 He has two great catches against the Bills. He has that unbelievable catch to seal the deal against the Ravens. And he had the catch in the AFC Championship game last year that helped them beat the Bengals because everyone else in the Chiefs receiving core was hurt. So maybe just Marquess Valdes-Scanling is the next great playoff pressure guy. Who knows? But Billy, that's what he's kind of saying.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Like, it's interesting. There's so many things that go into winning and winning is super bowl and correct me if we're wrong I guess what you're telling us is if my homes never wins another one if he ends his career with two you still think we're seeing a better version of Tom Brady I think you might not be wrong I think the thing that makes Tom the best for me is the number one is by all the numbers passing yards touchdowns completions you know all those things uh... the the rings are sort of uh... byproduct of that and what why say this like you look at the
Starting point is 00:38:33 look at that the two of the last three super bowls that they want he was the he was great in the act look at the last three but okay i mean they held the chiefs in nine points okay they'd scored an average of thirty points a game yet somehow tom Brady was the MVP of that game No, the defense was the MVP of that game right Super Bowl 51 if he's not bailed out by the third and one call by Kyle Shanahan They probably lose that game if you throw them if you hand them all off to Marshawn Lynch and Super Bowl 49
Starting point is 00:38:56 Which by the way is one of our alternate routes. What if you do that? Maybe you maybe things are looking very differently. That was well done Yeah, so all these things, thank you, not my first time, all these things make play out very differently. And we may look at Tom Brady as the guy that won three and then lost four in a row. So your new podcast, Alternate Routes, comes out March 5th on Wondery Plus. How did you choose the alternate routes to go down?
Starting point is 00:39:19 Actually, we have a production meeting every week. One of them we're talking about, I think, which also is interesting, is what if the CP3 Lakers trade wasn't voided by the NBA? Like, how does that change how we look at CP3? Right? Oh, he's the one guy can't get it done, 3-1 lead can't get it done. Well, if he goes and plays with Kobe, they lose in 3-1 leads, right? And how many rings does Kobe get more than than Michael Six? How do we look at that scenario now? And there's a really weird one, and you'll appreciate this. The Lakers and Bulls in 1979 have coin toss to decide who would get the number one pick
Starting point is 00:39:53 in the draft. It was Magic Johnson. Freaking coin toss, by the way. That's a reason. The Lakers won. That's ridiculous. Irvin Magic Johnson goes there, and the Showtime Lakers are born. Well, what if the Bulls win the coin toss?
Starting point is 00:40:04 And he goes to Chicago. Artist Gilmore's numbers were almost identical to Cream's numbers at that time. Does Artist Gilmore become the greatest scorer in the history of the NBA? Does Pat Riley ever exist? Does he go to Miami? Does he go to New York? Because Pat Riley was built on taking over for Paul Westhead in the Showtime Lakers. Like all of that stuff changes. What if Pat Riley's parents never met exactly right? What if instead of going to Philadelphia because of the draft a few years later Charles Barkley goes to Washington? Whereas teammate would be Tom Macmillan who became a congressman Charles Barkley becomes the first African-American president set of Barack Obama
Starting point is 00:40:38 Everybody we'll see you later. That's how we play alternate routes Magic then plays with Jordan. Or no. Or maybe they don't get Jordan. They don't get Jordan because they're not drafted in that Ivy because they'd be so good. Does Michael never become like... One of the reasons that Michael became the thing symbol of Nike is because Magic turned it down. Magic turned it down.
Starting point is 00:41:03 It's crazy stuff. I'm going to listen to your it down. Right magic turned it down You know me well It's all that goes back to the bathroom. Oh my god Who wins Augusta this year? I want to talk some golf with you just for a second here because I'm going to Augusta. Okay. It's my second time now, but I'm going there. Last year, right? I went two years ago and then we didn't go last year, but I'm going to go back this year because I loved it so much. Who's going to win that thing, man? You know, the interesting thing is like, you almost hesitate to say this, but like, is
Starting point is 00:41:40 he healthy? If he's healthy enough to play once a month, once a month? I don't know. I don't know. Do we get it? Do we get it? I don month? I know once a month. I don't know I'd love to see someone like Tony Fina when it like you know, but the peanuts. Yeah, we're peanuts with Tony, you know, he shot a 68 with a dislocated ankle his first round at Augusta He can make birdies and bunches. He's just got it. He's just got to drive it straight. Yes Are you upset? Does the PGA Tour live thing? Like, I'm over it. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Like, go do what the hell you want. My problem is when the PGA Tour went down this road. And I do some stuff for the PGA Tour. So I'm comfortable saying this. Don't play the moral card. That was their mistake. What is the PGA Tour you've been ashamed of? Well, you want to talk about the history of the African-American
Starting point is 00:42:23 golfers at Augusta? You want to do Shoal Creek 1989? There's a lot of things that we can talk about of course Don't play like the it's the FedEx Cup. You know how many FedEx offices there are in Saudi Arabia Right, like don't go down that road. Yes, just just just be just be honest about it But I think what the players have the players have spoken and what they're telling you is that we only care about the majors Yeah, and that John Rom saying winning the Masters is what propelled him to go to live. Correct. Because he knows he can now play. By the way, do you think the league kept flipping that coin until it landed on Lakers? Oh, we didn't get it right. Let's do it again. Oh, we messed that up. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:42:58 All right. Check out the new pod all to the rounds on Amazon and Wondery Plus. There you go. Right there. Yeah, you did. Try. I love seeing you. We appreciate the time. Starting point is 00:44:56 They had an ad in there. So they're really a faith-based organization. And it's really just about bringing people closer to Jesus and really just sharing that compassion and your personal experience with Jesus. And yeah, I mean, that's pretty much what it's about. Starting point is 00:46:05 Well, how do you have a show with your wife on social media, correct? Yeah, so we have a YouTube. We're not as active as we used to be now that we have two kids. How old are your kids? Two and eight months old. So my daughter's two and my son is eight months. I mean, Michael, you are in it right now, man.
Starting point is 00:46:21 I have a two and a half year old and I have a seven month old. So we're in the same boat. Wait, let me just, this is not easy. Bless you, brother, bless you. I tell him this all the time. We'll get to the YouTube show in a second, but I tell him this all the time,
Starting point is 00:46:31 enjoy every second of it. Yes. Because I have twin girls. Okay. Okay, and they're 20 now and they're in college. Yeah. And so you're gonna be, you know, a hero. You're gonna be a superhero to them.
Starting point is 00:46:41 And then when they get to like 15, 16, you're gonna be a source of embarrassment to them. Yeah then when they get to like 15, 16, you're going to be a source of embarrassment to them again. So enjoy it now, Michael. Tell us about the YouTube show. Yeah, so we started it when we were in college. And it was more based about the football lifestyle and giving people a look into what a football player actually does.
Starting point is 00:47:03 Because sometimes people have this misconception of like what we do. Like we're always out partying, doing stuff like, like, like lots of money getting thrown around in it. And like, I just wanted to show people that it's not like that. You know, we're just normal people and we do everything that anybody else does. Right. So, and I think that people really gravitated towards that. I posted like last month, but other than that, I think that people really gravitated towards that. I posted like last month, but other than that, I mean, it's been real sparse just because finding times hard these days. Is that frustrating to you? It's why you're doing the show. I get it. But Rahim
Starting point is 00:47:35 Mostor is a friend of ours. He's a friend of the show, Austin Eckler as well. They say some of the, some of the same stuff, similar things as, hey, they really don't, people don't understand. They just see the glitz, the glamour. They don't understand, hey, we're real people with real issues. Yeah, and I never thought that I was that entertaining either. Like people just like watching. Like I'm like, because my wife actually brought that to me.
Starting point is 00:47:58 And like I'm like, and like just like, I'm thinking like, nobody wants to watch us just do like daily thing The way you're selling this isn't the best Watch us, you know hold laundry. It's like I don't know about this. Yeah. Yeah, I would watch you fold launch. Yeah, you know So so it's fun But but we've kind of scaled back in and maybe in the future like just like we'll get back to it But you doing the diapers and stuff? Yeah, so we actually just potty trained my daughter,
Starting point is 00:48:29 so she hasn't used pull ups in a long time. Really? What's the trick? Lots of treats. Yeah, like a dog. Like a dog. Yes, yes. So we just carry around a bag of M&Ms,
Starting point is 00:48:43 and they are potty treats. So like whenever she uses the bathroom, she gets a treat and then that keeps her focused on it. And then my son goes through about a pack a day. So yeah. Oh my God. So expensive 2G. Potty treats. I love potty treats.
Starting point is 00:49:00 I want a potty treat. If I've learned nothing from this Super Bowl, it's potty treats. And I'm going home with that information. But it's exactly like a dog. It'd be funny if you picked up the poop in a bag or something. Not that funny. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How great was this season for you? I mean, it gets off to a weird start with Anthony Richardson
Starting point is 00:49:16 going down. And then Gardner Minshew's there, and he filled in tremendously for him. Yeah, yeah. I mean, just going back through that, it was the third game of the season and I just remember standing there and he's like rolling around and I'm just
Starting point is 00:49:29 like, what are we going to do? Yeah. And then Gardner comes in and and he sets it on fire. I mean, I think Gardner played great. Obviously, he made the Pro Bowl so he was doing like something right and just like the fire that he brought to our team, I felt like really set the pace.
Starting point is 00:49:49 So just having him and everything that Shane did to kind of help us out. And I think we had a great system. And now we're looking forward to seeing what Anthony Kiena do when he comes back. You guys have a talk with Anthony, say, hey, Anthony. Trevor Lawrence tried to warn you after week one. Stop running.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Take it easy a little bit. Exactly. Calm it down a little bit. Let's make this a long career. We're in this together. Yeah. I mean, I've told him countless times. I even joke around with him.
Starting point is 00:50:16 And I tell him, hey, you can't take those hits. You're just, everybody is counting on you. And he's probably watching me like I might lead the whole league in most hits taken. So like I just keep telling him to like not be like me. So. I have an idea. You should give him sliding treats.
Starting point is 00:50:35 So like if he goes and he slides instead of getting hit for a run every time he slides, you give him a treat. Great idea. So it's like toilet treats. There you go. Did you see enough of him in the, I guess, three games or so to know that, oh my god, this guy's the real deal?
Starting point is 00:50:48 Absolutely. I mean, like, there were flashes of, like, greatness. I mean, now you go back and you look at that, like, you look at that Rams game. And when we didn't win, but we came back from, like, 7 to 30. Right. And then we're competing to potentially win. And that doesn't really happen.
Starting point is 00:51:08 I mean, usually you're down to a team like that. Like the game is over. So just seeing him be able to bounce back in, I think that his best game is going to be around the RPO game because he's so dangerous. And you got him. You got Jonathan Taylor and everybody that we have like in our receiving room like like it's just going to be so hard to stop because there's threats on every single corner right.
Starting point is 00:51:36 So I think that Shane's really going to dial that up. Is Gardner mentioned cool? Oh, I mean, I mean, he is too cool for school. Really? I mean, there's days when I walk in and he's outside doing his son yoga in his underwear. And like, I just like peek out there. I'm like, Hey, bro, you all right? And like, he's like, Oh, yeah, you know, he's stretching doing his thing. So he's definitely a quirky dude, but he's also one of the coolest guys like that I've ever met. We appreciate the time. A continued success to you. Enjoy the rest of your time here.
Starting point is 00:52:08 You had a great season, man. So congratulations. One more time though on the way out. Tell us what you're doing with he gets us and then hey, I'm one of us this flower. Yeah. Yeah. Suspense is killing me. So we actually have this thing where we are giving away meals this weekend. So we're serving the under served communities out here and it's really just going to give us a chance to get in there, mingle
Starting point is 00:52:37 with them and just show them just like a great time and hopefully they go home and they learn something and we and like just like that we did something. So really cool. Awesome. And then this flower right here. I know who it's going to. I'm actually going to give it to both of you guys. Wow.
Starting point is 00:52:51 So I couldn't pick. Thank you. You'll be terrible at this sports radio. I'm going to pick someone. Well, but he knows. He knows what's going to happen if he chooses one of us or the other one. We're going to then like each other.
Starting point is 00:53:01 He gets us. Keep up the good work. But on the field and off the field. We appreciate it, man. Thank you guys. All right, like he gets us. Keep up the good work on the field and off the field. We appreciate it, man. Thank you guys. Alright, buddy. Thank you. You got very excited. You are. I am. Tell me why any A guard out. Hi, Annie. Hi. How's it going guys? Yeah, you know. I'm honored to be the source of your happiness. Are you? I am.
Starting point is 00:53:30 Okay. Well thank you for that I guess. I've never seen I've never seen him happy to be honest with you. Ever? How's Radio Row week going for you? Because we're here now and it's late Thursday so I'm kind of running on fumes. I seeumes because we got here on Monday. So this has been a long week for us. Is it Thursday? It's Thursday. It is Thursday, yeah. It's hard to tell.
Starting point is 00:53:49 That should tell you everything you need to know right now. That has nothing to do with radio row and more to do with Vegas, I feel like, though. I haven't really done a lot of Vegas. I lose track of time in Vegas. I may or may not have been at the Crap Stable till three last night. Really?
Starting point is 00:54:01 I may or may not have been. Really? But guess who was here at 9 AM this morning, ready ready to go but that's what Super Bowl week is all about Super Bowl week is yep play hard work art exact how'd you do at Grapps I was on a roll pun intended for a little bit right um I was doing pretty well and I just had learned the game so I was on a roll for a little bit it seems really complicated I'm gonna be honest with you it's kind of dumb complicated yeah like they teach you to and you still don't get it and then that makes you
Starting point is 00:54:24 feel stupider because it's just rolling dice and putting chips down on the table Right too much to think about it's a lot to think about what's he's like? It's not a lot to think about it shouldn't be but somehow cool you can side But it's like any sports buddy like you can do side bets on that I guess yeah, but I just like two cards blackjack Yes, blackjack is my game. I can add to 21. I know when I'm over. Yes Counting I can add to 21, I know when I'm over, you know. Yes. I can only play the numbers. Counting, I know how to count. I'm rolling that.
Starting point is 00:54:47 Can you believe that you're here? No. It's crazy, right? I can't, I can't. Third Super Bowl, I cannot believe it. Yeah, so this all started more or less COVID pandemic, right? So you obviously had a career, but then things took off just,
Starting point is 00:55:00 is it just boredom, really? Kind of, yeah. You know, it was, everybody was so down and during COVID and we didn't have sports. And I worked in, I was a local sports reporter at the time and we didn't have anything to cover. And I, I moved back home. I was in my childhood bedroom because of COVID and nobody had any money. And I got on TikTok and I thought, you know, we, we're not talking about sports and nobody's laughing.
Starting point is 00:55:19 Like everybody forgot it was kind of a, you can, you can still make jokes. So I did this like parody video about the big 10 getting football up and running during COVID and it had three million views overnight. And I thought, okay, this is what people want right now. And I think it just was timing of it was great. And I did a couple of other conferences and I took it to the NFL and now I have this series. But isn't that great?
Starting point is 00:55:37 Because like, like, I tell kids all the time, if you want to get into this industry, you don't have to do what I did. I mean, it's so different now. I'm 51. I used to travel. I had to make tapes. I had to edit my own tape. Well, Jesus was still alive then. I know. But I mean, now you just get on social media. And if you're good, you're good. Yeah. Yeah. You're good. Yeah. But that's cool. It's wild.
Starting point is 00:55:57 It is. And I tell people that people ask, like, what advice I would give to someone starting out. And everybody has something creative they can bring to TikTok. I mean, I look at the millions of creators now that have millions of followers just because they did the same thing. They did one video. So it's, it's opens up a whole new avenue for kids and people to get careers out of its wild. Yeah. It's great opportunity. Do you still do it the same way you did? Is it possible to eat it? There's no way.
Starting point is 00:56:18 Oh, you don't have to tell us. Just say yes. Yeah, I still there. I'm still put it all together. I mean, I still do it all myself. Do you really? I do. I write everything and edit everything. I wake up at 3 am on Tuesday. You're big time now. I have a control problem. Really? I kind of get that. You don't trust anyone?
Starting point is 00:56:34 I mean. Well, no. Once you give up control, then it's not, it doesn't feel the same. Like you don't have your own imprint. You can trust people only to a certain extent. Yeah, but I try. You need to get people that you trust.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Right. Surround. Well, and the other issue is, sorry need to get people that you trust. Right, sure. Surround. Well, and the other issue is, sorry, I mean, cut you off. That's okay. The other issue, sometimes I'll start the video and I'll shoot things,
Starting point is 00:56:51 because I shoot it all out of sync and out of order because it's, and I'm trying to get the jerseys right and everything. And then I'll go back and once I edit half of it, then I'll think about how I want the rest of the video to go. Yes. So half of it's in the editing process too. So I've just come to the conclusion
Starting point is 00:57:03 that I'm just never gonna get easy. You need a billion in your life. Oh, okay. No, that's what I'm process too. So I just come to the conclusion that I'm just never going to get easy. You need a billion in your life. Oh, OK. No, that's what I'm telling you. What do you mean? That's a compliment, Billy. I have a lot of it. I might have a lot on my plate already.
Starting point is 00:57:12 No, no, no. You need a billion in your life. Someone like Billy. OK. I need a billion in my life. I know you do, OK? We're working on that. But you need, well, you have my gear.
Starting point is 00:57:21 Well, that's true. You kind of do. But I speak into the microphone for four hours, and it's not lost on me that when I'm done, and I just have mic EA. Well, that's true. You kind of do. But like, I, you know, I speak into the microphone for four hours and it's not lost on me that when I'm done and I just throw my headsets down, the bill is gonna do all the editing. And that's not lost on me, but I trust him. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Find some people you trust. You need someone in your circle that you trust. It's kind of sick though, because I kind of like the editing. Like I like the process of it. I like kind of putting it together. Maybe you have a control problem too. No, I definitely do.
Starting point is 00:57:44 I 100% do. Oh, he does, yes. But you like the creative nature of it, right? I do, I like kind of putting it together. Maybe you have a control problem too. No, I definitely do. I 100% do. Oh, he does, yes. But you like the creative nature of it, right? I do. I like it. And I like kind of like tweaking things. Like, it's fun. It's fun.
Starting point is 00:57:51 And it is hard to kind of let go of that when you come up doing all of that stuff. And to see the finished product, I think that makes it all. Well, by the time that I'm done doing audio video stuff like that, I don't even want to see it anymore. I just hate it. I'm like, this isn't going to be good. Like, I'm just so sick of this. Because you've seen every little bit of the TV thing. Yeah, because it's just hate it. I'm like, this is this isn't going to be good. Like I'm just so sick of this.
Starting point is 00:58:05 You've seen every little. Yeah. Cause it's been so long. I'm like, I have no idea if this is good or not. I'm just glad it's over at this point, honestly. No, I feel you have that. Absolutely. Who's the person you've had on or spoken to this week
Starting point is 00:58:15 that you were most excited about? Most excited about. That's a good one. Um, I, you know, I love Warren Sharp, you know, Warren Sharp on Twitter. Of course. He's a hilarious guy. Never met him in person and I met him today for the first time.
Starting point is 00:58:27 And we, and he is, his insight is hilarious, but it's so knowledgeable. And he helped me with a lot of my prop bets going into this game. So that was pretty cool because I'd, we'd followed each other for so long and I retweet him all the time. He retweets me. So it's like a weird little like pen pal situation. You get to, yeah, meet friends that you've never actually met in person. And I don't think I would have recognized them if it weren't for the mustache,
Starting point is 00:58:46 so I told him he can't understand it. So you're with Stadium and tonight you're doing the NFL honors, which is really cool. I'm excited. So what are you doing? Just like red carpet stuff? It should be red carpet, a lot of content because I want to show people what it's like to be at the honors and then hopefully some red carpet interviews and last year we were with a brand, so I did like we had a whole set up there. This time it's just kind of a roaming thing, but yeah, I'm very excited. Do you have people that you're like targeting, like that you want to get a hold of? You know, I love CJ Stroud and I saw him walking around today and I didn't get a chance to talk to him. He's so good.
Starting point is 00:59:15 He's so good. So good. So I freaking love him. He's so good. So I'd love to talk to him, but yeah, just kind of trying to figure it out for him. What are the propettes you're taking? Okay, the top one. I'm writing it down. Just listen to this one. I'm writing it down. Just listen to this one. It is plus.
Starting point is 00:59:26 I've told everybody this. And I hope it hits, because I've now told half of radio row. So if it doesn't, I look like an idiot. Plus 550 for Travis Kelsey to score two or more touchdowns. He scored three or more touchdowns in every playoff game since 2019. And you did, right? What?
Starting point is 00:59:39 Tell me they're not going to scheme him up. He might even be this first touchdown score, but I'm not going to bet that, because that's risky. But yeah, two or more. I can, did you actually think so? Two or more touchdowns? Plus, I mean, it seems like a lot, you know? Right, but plus, I mean, the odds are just...
Starting point is 00:59:51 So here's what you need to do, okay? Cause, and Warren Sharp would tell you the same thing. I know, Warren, okay? You need to tell the other half of the... I was just going to say, the best way to not look like an idiot is to tell people the other thing. Yeah, exactly right. Do not bet Travis Kelsey to touchdowns.
Starting point is 01:00:05 There's no way he scores. Cover all your bases. Yeah, actually, Warren actually said he doesn't think Travis Kelsey is going to score at all. I'm going to talk about that the entire day, Warren. So if that happens, one of us is going to look like an idiot. You just want to please 50% of the people. Exactly right.
Starting point is 01:00:17 Yeah. Make half the people happy. You're never going to make everyone happy. Make at least half of them happy. There's one thing I've learned in my video that is exactly true. And usually it's Cowboys fans that I don't make happy, which I'm fine with. Good at that. Are you going to the game?
Starting point is 01:00:30 Yes. I'll be the first half of the game and then we have like a deal with Verizon so I'll be at a watch party because I actually want to watch it. And it's hard when you're at the game, the atmosphere kind of takes over. It's hard to actually focus on the game. It's also harder to watch party though. Yeah, that's true. I'll be locked in. I'm gonna be locked in. I think I'll stay for that. Okay.
Starting point is 01:00:48 I gotta stay. What song is the open with? Do you guys think? I don't think he's gonna open with yeah. Do you? I don't know. It sounds tricky. The piece of A-Town Down would be electric but it's also like one of his best songs so probably save it for... He's gonna have people come out. For sure gonna have people come out. Yeah. I don't know. You guys are speaking a foreign language now, you know. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
