So how are we all feeling?
Welcome to the first week of April, 2025.
We're getting close friends.
We're about two weeks away from the draft.
This is my Super Bowl.
Really? The draft is my Super Bowl. Yeah, as a Jets fan, this is this is my Super Bowl really after my Super Bowl.
Yeah, as a Jets fan.
This is when we win.
We win because everybody's going to tell us how good of a pick
we had and a few years from now that person will be either
on another team or out of the league.
But for right now will win and I'm looking forward to that
feeling.
I mean you win up until actually draft night, right?
And then once the pick is in,
you guys usually shift your attitude to you've lost.
No, no, that's kind of an early 90s thing.
That kind of stopped late 90s.
They stopped booing the Jets draft pick.
And every year now,
it's the best player that's ever been in college.
And the only reason he's on the Jets is because we're divine
and we're gonna win
the championship, but we never do.
Can you rank football Super Bowls?
And I'm not talking about ranking
like Super Bowl III, Super Bowl IV,
Super Bowl 51, whatever.
This is how I wanna rank Super Bowls.
And it's really, I think, three or maybe four.
These are the three that I'm gonna suggest
for your Super Bowl.
So, and we can put them in the proper ranking
and if you want, you can, you know, tweet at us.
Sure.
Tag us, hashtag, GBF, whatever it is, right?
And these are the rankings.
I wanna know you the listeners Super Bowl.
So your football Super Bowl, is it the Super Bowl?
Is it the draft? Is
it opening night? And is there any other things that we might
want to throw in there? I don't think free agency falls in
there, does it? The first day of free agency could definitely
be in there. Thanksgiving football could definitely be in
there. Trade deadline? No, the NFL trade deadline isn't as fun as the
NBA or the MLB one. I would put free agency. It's like starting
at noon on the legal tampering period, you know, the first time they actually
start talking to anybody, wink wink, you just start refreshing Twitter. You just
keep going until you see something and then you panic.
So I'll definitely put free agency in there.
As a matter of fact, that might be my number one.
Really?
Okay, well don't...
I'll, we'll get back to it later.
Don't spoil it.
This is what we're gonna do.
Yeah, I like that.
I think fans, if you're listening,
again, follow us on our feed, God bless football,
and you can get us moving forward.
I think that what we should do
is we now have the five out there.
NFL draft, opening night, the Super Bowl,
Thanksgiving Day games, and then pre-agency as our five.
And if you stay listening to this episode later on,
you will get my top five Super Bowls,
Mikey's top five Super Bowls,
and Mike Fuentes' top five Super Bowls. Mikey's top five Super Bowls and Mike Fenton's top five Super Bowls.
So that's an exciting thing.
You want to play a game that I like to call Here's a headline.
Absolutely. So for those of you who are new to the program, here's how here's a headline works.
There's news all the time, but headlines are boring.
So we play a game called Here's a headline where we just throw out a headline and then we break
it down, not just tell you the headline. So we're going to go
around the room. I've started the last couple of times, so
I'm feeling like I don't really want to start today. I want to
pass the ball a little bit. I feel like we should start out
with Mikey today. So Mikey, do you have a headline for us?
And here's a headline. Hey, here's a headline. Brown's quarterback,
the Sean Watson is using doubters as comeback fuel. That's right, folks. In a
video he posted on his Instagram, he said, quote, everyone's doubting me.
Everyone don't believe in me. Everyone don't think I can get back to where I
was, but I know and I believe the work that I put
in what I believe in myself so he thinks he's coming back to I guess play
football at a mediocre level at some point where I don't know what he thinks he's coming
back to where is he coming back not even what where is he coming back to because
Cleveland last week essentially said we regret ever making that decision.
Sure.
So where are we going, Deshaun?
Houston, Clemson, is that where he's going back to?
Wow, did he leave early?
I don't know.
No, I think he was a senior.
I think he was done.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was done.
All right.
Is Deshaun Watson just kind of at this point
a guy that you just kind of want to go away?
I mean, like, he's not good enough or exciting enough
to even like get past all the stuff
and then there's all the stuff.
And it's like, just kind of go away.
Like I don't want to see it like I'm good.
I'm good if I never heard from you again.
I have, I have something that I want to ask you guys
that I was thinking about.
I don't disagree with any of what you said, by the way.
So you were saying that we think that he was a senior
when he left.
I have a hypothetical game to throw at you.
It's a real game.
It's a hypothetical situation.
So who in the NFL do you believe
NFL player? Do you believe that left early or was granted one extra year of college?
Let's say the COVID year, right? Even if they weren't in college during COVID. So they get
an extra year of eligibility, even though they've already played in the NFL, which isn't
how it works. But for the sake of this game, this is how it works. Sure. Who do you think in the NFL presently
could go back to college for a year
and completely rebuild his stock
and make himself a sought after player?
This is a fantastic question.
Wow, I'm gonna go, Justin Fields.
Justin Fields could go back to college right now,
run a college offense, rebuild his stock,
and try and convince everybody that he is
better than he was drafted the first time.
Do you think that he would?
Like if he went back to college,
you think he would dominate? Like if he went back to college you think he would
dominate? Like if they allowed that? Yeah yeah yeah yeah yes I mean listen he's still I mean as much as I
don't want him to be the quarterback of my team and he is he's still a grown man
playing in a college sport like yeah still he still has five years of NFL
experience to bring to a college game but But yeah, that's that's my answer.
Justin Fields.
Do you have one?
Mike Fuentes?
I do.
Actually, I just thought about him right now.
And my pick is it another former Jets quarterback?
No, he's I think he's a former NFL player at this point because I think he's out of the
Oh, he was on the he last played in 2024 with the Eagles, but I'm going to say John Ross.
You don't remember John Ross. John Ross ran a 422 at the Eagles, but I'm gonna say John Ross.
You don't remember John Ross?
John Ross ran a 4-2-2 at the Combine.
It was the fastest in history.
And I believe just based on the speed,
he can go back and just, you know, let's be real,
he's in a lineup against a bunch of future future accountants
and he's just gonna burn them and he's gonna, you know,
get a million yards and touchdowns.
And he's been on NFL weight programs.
And I think he would just ball out
one more year of college.
So you think if he went to college after retiring from the NFL, he would then convince people
in the NFL that he was someone that they should go after in the first round.
I didn't say he retired.
He just said he was he was on a team last year.
He's not officially retired.
Well, OK, so you go out there he was on a team last year. He's not officially retired. Well, okay So you go out there hold on a second burn a bunch of college level quarterbacks
Score a bunch of touchdowns and then they'd be like why not a four first round pick 27
I don't know. I don't kids are getting faster. I don't know if you've seen the combine
You ran a four to get faster. He's the fastest ever the fastest ever
Ever would disagree Xavier worthy might disagree. Yeah, Xavier worthy disagree. Xavier Worthy might disagree. Yeah. Xavier
Worthy is in the NFL. He's playing right now. So I have one, but I feel like it's not the spirit
of the game of the game entirely. You made the game. So it is the spirit of the game. It's not
because it's just like this guy's good and better than we thought he was, and it's not fun, so I apologize.
So I think friend of the show, Trey Hendrickson,
if he went back to college, would absolutely dominate
and be a first round pick where he was taken,
I believe, in the third round.
In that vein, how about Brock Purdy?
Brock Purdy going back to college.
Wow.
Now all of a sudden, maybe he's drafted first overall.
Where would we put Brock Purdy if he went back to college?
What conference would he be in?
When you put him back in the big 12, right?
That's where he came from?
Well, you could place him anywhere.
He could go anywhere.
I don't see him in the SEC.
Maybe, okay, so in this
in this hypothetical, he's still Brock Purdy. So people know that he's coming
back from the 49ers, correct? Um, that's a great question. If that's the case,
there's definitely an SEC team that's gonna drop an NIL bag for him to go play.
Yeah, no, but I don't want I don't want him in the SEC. I feel like he's not SEC breed. I think he could have been a Saban Alabama quarterback
I think he could be that that random an age LSU
Karen is what you think he is. Yeah. Yeah, like AJ McCarran. I was thinking honestly more like McElroy
I was thinking more like a Nebraska, you know, like you have him at Nebraska and you're like, oh my god that quarterback out of Nebraska.
I mean, I guess in this scenario, you know, he's Brock Purdy, right?
But he's like the wow, that quarterback out of Nebraska, that quarterback out of Wisconsin Brock Purdy.
He might be the steel of the draft where if it's Alabama and it's Nick Saban coaching, you're like Brock Purdy.
How much is it him?
And how much is it him and how much is it
Saban system in Alabama are we not sending him out West we can't see him at
USC I can see him at USC. I could see him at USC. Or a Cal Golden Bear.
How about Oregon State? Yeah but I don't think he's gonna get
drafted number one overall even if he is Brock Birdie
and we know what he is.
The problem with him going to Nebraska...
Texas?
No.
No.
SEC team.
SEC team.
Too much pressure, yeah.
But the problem with him going to Nebraska is we all know there must always be a Martinez
at quarterback in Nebraska.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
That's why I threw Wisconsin in there as an option, but West Coast makes sense for him
I think I think West Coast. Yeah
All right. Well, that was a fun exercise. It went this you have a headline. Oh
Yes, my headline. Give me one moment to pull it up here
It's a very very stunning headline from sources that Jets Alan Lazard will take a pay cut to 2.25
Sorry a two point two25 million dollar base salary
to stay with the New York Jets.
Very sad for the Alan Lazard free agent market.
Well, is it that there's no market
or he's such a great team player?
Because I would say it's because there's no market.
He specifically requested a trade
and they were like, yeah, okay, go find one.
And then here we are weeks later
and not only is he staying with the team,
but he's like, listen, you can pay me less.
Oh, that's what we call overplaying your hand.
Alan Lazard, you overplayed your hand.
You went out, you thought, oh, everybody's gonna want me,
especially wherever Roger's going.
Well, that's the thing, right?
Right now, it's kind of, if you're the Jets, right?
And you really want to mess with both him and Aaron Rodgers,
you wait for Aaron Rodgers to sign,
and they're like, you know that minimum salary
you wanted, that base salary?
Here you go, dare you to sign it.
And then you either get Allen and Lazard for cheap, right?
But you also keep him away from Tom Brady,
who he's hoping would have ended up on a team by now and he was just going to follow him around.
Did you just call Aaron Rodgers Tom Brady?
Did I call him Tom Brady?
You did call him Tom Brady.
Yeah. Yeah. It's been a week.
So apparently, yeah, apparently, Alan Lazard was going to be a casualty,
a cap casualty of the Jets as he was slated to make $11 million in base salary this coming up year.
It was not guaranteed.
So they basically said, hey buddy, listen,
either you're redoing that contract or you're out of here.
He then reduced it to 2.25 million
and he gets 1.75 million guaranteed.
Wow.
Do you think he spins it?
He's like, you know what?
I was talking to coach Glenn, I'm in on this team.
And I want to do what's best.
I want to give you guys some money
to go out and make the team better.
No, and he's probably like, my wife loves it here.
The kids are in school.
I don't want to move them again.
Yeah, it's not right.
Yeah.
I mean, the Jets win one.
They win one here.
Do they?
Sure.
Sure.
Here's a guy who thought he was gonna go out
and the only reason that he was having trouble
was because he was a Jet.
And that's happened to a lot of people.
But now everybody's like, no, you're just not good.
He's like, okay okay I'll take a
pay cut I'll stay here yeah all right well now I'm thinking of more people
that could go back to college that could really dominate after you I didn't like
my Trey Hendrickson I felt like I felt like that was cheating a little bit you
know what about Alan's art where could he go
bit you know what about alexard where could he go oh his max team yeah somewhere yeah when lv he could go to yeah he could be like
like a lobo or something you know and he's just out there and you know third
rounder I think if he went back you think you'd come out as a third rounder
now everybody's favorite third rounder though really yeah? Yeah, that's what he'd be.
He'd be the one that everybody goes,
hey watch out for this guy, Lazard in the third round.
You know what I think he would be?
He'd be the third rounder that when your team
is four picks away, and I'm talking like your team,
the Jets is four picks away, you're like,
man I hope Lazard falls to us.
Like we gotta trade up for Lazard, trade up for Lizard, or God, I hope he falls for us
and he's still on the board.
It's a good spot for him.
He should re-enter the draft
just to go back to the exact same team.
And you get him in the fourth round,
you think, man, we got a bargain.
Yeah, steal.
Can't believe we got him, yeah.
One mulligan in your first three years,
you get to go back to college for one year
and get redrafted.
Wow, so it has to be within your first three years.
That changes everything.
When we come back, we play a fan favorite from last week.
Anonymous sources.
Hey folks, it's Mike Ryan.
And if you're watching our show, you probably know your boy has undergone a

Sometimes I can put on a soccer match.
Some other times I'm totally locked in on an emo playlist.
Find your push.
Find your power with Peloton at OnePeloton.com the playing, I forgot to give my here's a headline. Well, we need a headline from you, Billy.
It's kind of your show here.
It's the rules and I'm sorry for not obeying the rules.
I just kind of forgot.
I assumed that I had done it already and I didn't.
And then I called Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady,
and then everything was thrown off
and we were sending Alan Lazard back to college
and figuring out where he'd be drafted.
So here's a headline.
Panthers quarterback, Bryce Young is ready to quote, grow and build in year three.
There's a lot of directions to take.
Is year three the year that Bryce Young
grows and builds with the Panthers?
Yes and no.
He didn't look bad once he got his job back
after losing his job because Andy Dalton,
I believe got in a car accident.
We're also gonna have to point out
that one of the biggest knocks on Bryce Young is
that he was a smaller diminutive fella for the quarterback position.
So the fact that he's talking about growing and building is kind of ironic in and of itself.
Well, he could put on some weight.
Sure.
But I'll take it the direction he intended and I do think I do think I've seen enough of him at the
end of last year to think he could take a big leap. Now the problem is I don't know who's catching
the ball over there. It's Xavier LeGette who is everybody's favorite, mine included, player in
the NFL to hear speak and the ageless Adam Thielen. But like you got to get that guy
somebody to throw the ball to. So he's got to get him a whoopie. Somebody that no matter what,
I'm just going to give it to him. And they don't have that. It's hard to take that leap without
that security blanket. What's a whoopie? I don't think I've ever heard that. It's a security blanket.
Really?
Did you name it your whoopie
or is that a known thing that people call it?
That's kind of a thing, yeah.
Really?
A whoopie.
Okay.
I don't think I had a whoopie.
I had a stuffed animal, like a stuffed bear
that I would take everywhere.
Yeah, that's your whoopie.
My whoopie.
Okay.
Did you have a blanket, a bear, stuffed animal,
a pacifier? I did.
I had a blanket.
Do you still have it?
Which I think was a towel.
Really?
Yeah.
Do you still have it somewhere thrown away at some point?
It's somewhere, it's somewhere.
Okay.
It's in the premises.
It's in that closet behind you.
Yeah, well it's the one over there, but yeah, it's there.
All right.
How often do you whip out the wooby?
Every time I have to go? Because I never
go in that closet. You know, it's one of those like but like when you have to like get your
passports out, you know, every like you have to go in that closet and then I can't go in that closet
without going down memory lane. Yeah. And then the will be makes an appearance. What else is
down memory lane for you? Oh, there's things like
articles and yearbooks and wow ticket stubs and
You know back when you were happy. Yeah. Yeah, I was married with kids. Yeah
If Bryce Young now that we now that we're in in the year three of game, if Bryce Young went back to college,
I mean, he was the number one pick. Yeah, I mean, he's not getting better.
He can't get better than number one.
But do you think there'd still be a feeding frenzy for him?
If Bryce Young, okay, how about this?
Bryce Young, Cam Ward,
Titans could pick one of the two.
Who do you think they take? Cam Ward. Yeah, I think they take Cam Ward, Titans could pick one of the two. Who do you think they take?
Cam Ward.
Yeah, I think they take Cam Ward.
Just because of his body size.
Knowing what they know now,
but I think if you were to put Cam Ward in that draft,
I think they take Bryce Young.
And Bryce Young's draft.
Yes.
With CJ Stroud.
Okay, how about this?
Next year, Cam Ward and Bryce Young are draft. Yes. Okay, how about this? Next year, Cam Ward and Bryce Young are in the draft.
Is Arch coming out?
Arch doesn't have to.
Arch is, in this scenario, Arch is coming out.
No other manning came out early.
He will be.
Yeah, he knows what's up with the money.
Speaking of all this, our friends over at the athletic,
they did a lot of research, they crunched the numbers. I love crunch and they they came up with this
out of the last 25 years
15 times
The quarterback who was taken first in that draft wasn't the best quarterback in the draft
Hmm wasn't the best quarterback in the draft.
So only 10 times in the last 25 years was the quarterback taken first,
the best quarterback from that draft.
Who were the quarterbacks that were?
That were taken first and were the best?
Yeah.
Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow,
Kyler Murray,
Jamis Winston, Carson Palmer, Andrew Luck,
Cam Newton, Sam Bradford, Matt Stafford, Matt Ryan. Those are the 10 that were considered the best.
Now they used a lot of different metrics to-
Yeah, who was in the Jamis draft?
Marcus Mariota was number two. I know that.
Yeah.
Now there are times where, so like,
Jermarcus Russell was taken first,
but they have Trent Edwards listed
as the best quarterback in that draft.
In other words, hopefully your team
did not draft a quarterback in 2007.
Yeah. Hmm. Interesting. So we're not saying that Zach Wilson Hopefully your team did not draft a quarterback in 2007. Yeah
Interesting so we're not saying that Zach Wilson was the best quarterback in the Trevor Lawrence draft. Yeah, we're not yet Yeah, there's still there's still time also Justin Fields is in that draft
We thought that he might be the number one pick Mac Jones to as a that was a big draft for current quarterbacks
I mean, I guess it was only 2017 so they wouldn't all be out of the league by now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Anyways.
Was it? I mean, we've joked about this and I saw that Trevor Lawrence is now on a quote-unquote
pitch count so that he can get ready for this coming season.
It seems like every year we're saying it's a make or break year for Trevor Lawrence. They've signed him to the extension. He's their guy. They're not going to get out of that contract
after this year. But is this the year that Trevor Lawrence makes that step? How about this? Is this
the year that Trevor Lawrence, in the words of Bryce Young?
grows and builds
No, I think this is what he is really I think he's I think he's a very high floor and very low ceiling guy
Is he good enough?
Yeah, I think he's good enough. I I and I I say this as a jet fan
So please don't get mad at me Jacksonville Jaguars fans.
He's good enough for Jacksonville.
Okay.
That's just what he is.
Who is... Justin Fields good enough for you?
No.
Oh. Who's good enough for you? Who's the...
Who's like the quarterback that is like, yeah, this is, this is the quarterback that Jets deserve.
Last year's version of Aaron Rodgers.
That's, it's just perfect.
It's all headline and no substance.
Were you ready for another year that,
like would you have signed up for another year?
I was hoping for it.
I mean, considering other options, but by the way,
side note on that list that the athletic came up with,
made me think so in 2018
The first quarterback taken was Baker Mayfield and they have a tie for who the best quarterback is
Okay, Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson, and I don't know who's better. I
Mean one is a two-time MVP the other one's a one-time MVP
Sure, but but and and know, some thought Lamar
should win his third MVP,
and then Josh wouldn't have had any MVPs.
That's a good question.
That's a 2018 draft, huh?
That's a good little draft there.
Yeah, Jen took Sam Darnold.
Did they?
Yeah.
I'm gonna go through here.
You guys want the list of other quarterbacks
drafted in 2015 with James Winston and Marcus
Mariotta, I looked them up. Yeah, sure. Okay on the third round you had Garrett Grayson. Oh, okay
Remember that name stud. Yeah, then you had Sean Mannion
Sean Mannion of Mannion of
Los Angeles Rams while st. Louis friends, I think, at the time, backup quarterback status.
Then Jets legend, Bryce Petty.
Wow.
Also in that draft.
And Brett Hundley.
And then to round it up in the seventh round,
probably the best of the bunch, Trevor Simien.
Trevor Simien.
So.
How?
James Winston's the best of the bunch.
Not by a mile.
Yeah, so.
No, it's close.
Trevor Simien has an argument.
Does he though?
Yeah.
I mean.
Kicked around a few years in Minnesota.
Denver, Chicago.
But out of all these quarterbacks, the only starting caliber one quotation marks is James, right?
I guess Mario had a season there right with the Falcons I kind of want to
redraft the 2018 draft that was 10 years
ago I mean it was seven no I'm talking
about 2015 yeah yeah I'm in the 2018
draft okay so it was Baker then say Kwan
then Sam Darnold then Denzel Ward Bradley
Chubb Quinn Nelson Josh Allen Roe Kwan Smith. So the first eight picks right first eight
picks all Pro Bowlers. So so far everyone has hit on on the draft. Well, I mean Sam Darnold so
But they hit they just didn't hit there yeah, yeah, okay somebody
My baby, Lindsey Josh, I was in Cleveland didn't hit. I mean they did but just not with Cleveland. Mm-hmm
Baker yeah, I mean they but just not with Cleveland. Baker. Yeah.
I mean, they, we don't need to redo this so many times,
but man, they messed up Baker so badly.
He should have sat out that year that he played hurt
that ended up getting him sent away from the Browns.
I wonder what if, what if Baker was still on the Browns
and they didn't have this whole Deshaun Watson situation.
Anyway, you wanna play anonymous sources?
Sure.
You wanna save it or do you wanna get one or two out there?
You know what, I wanna bring up,
as long as we're talking about the draft,
let me bring up one thing.
I want to propose a rule change for the NFL
when it comes to the draft.
And I think the first overall pick should be up for a bid.
So all the teams can bid on it.
Now, all 32 teams, and here's the catch to it.
The money that you bid goes to the player all against the cap over a four year deal.
So I have a lot of questions.
Not a ton.
Okay.
So when you're figuring out the draft order every year, then the worst team gets the number
two pick.
We started number two.
Well, unless they bid for the well, no, you could know that the
number one pick is up for grabs. So, so you have 33 picks in
the first round. No, number 32. You just move up your spot. I
don't like that. I like the idea of it's everyone still has
their pick. It's an extra pick. Okay. And the number two pick
could be the first two picks
if they really, really wanted to be.
If they wanna spend the money.
So you can have a year where the number one
and the number two pick both go to the same team
and they really fast track rebuilding their franchise.
Now, I'll make this even bigger for you.
This becomes a live auction event.
Televised, live auction event.
We'll call it the day before.
No, let's do a day of.
So draft day's coming and you have no idea
where the number one pick is
and you only hear little whispers about who it is
that may be bidding.
Who's gonna bid?
There's no cap, right?
You can go as high as you want.
But it all goes to the player against the cap
and it's all on the cap.
Yeah, that's how you have to do it.
So, yeah, because if you don't do that,
Jerry Jones just buys everything.
But does this go against guaranteed money?
So like.
Yes, yes, it's on your cap.
So this is like a signing bonus.
This is like a signing bonus. If you don't have the cap space you can't do it now you
could get into some some tomfoolery some gamesmanship and now suppose I know that
my the team in my division wants a quarterback but I have all this cap
space maybe I bid them up maybe I just keep raising the bid with no intention
of winning it.
I love this idea.
We can have fun with this.
I really, really love this idea.
It's a televised event, all 32 owners
and they have their little paddles.
Get a celebrity auctioneer.
I think that you, I think right before
the first team goes on the clock,
you have like a five minute auction
or you just open auction.
Yeah.
And oh gosh, I really kind of like this idea.
Man, this is a good idea, Mikey.
Yeah, this is a good idea.
This is a Billy idea.
Well, hold on.
Would you do it night of the draft?
I feel like what ends up happening is that then you like,
you move it up like the NBA ping pong balls,
you know what I mean?
It becomes its own thing.
And then it becomes eligible for NFL Super Bowl
that we're gonna be ranking later on today,
which is the draft auction.
Draft auction, draft.
Oh, this draft auction sounds like such a good idea.
Why aren't you running the NFL, Mikey?
I keep applying. They keep they keep rejecting me.
I've been getting a lot of that lately though.
Stick with it though.
Eventually one of those will go through.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Maybe Gullick gets on a committee now, you know,
seems to have some spare time on his hands, joins a committee,
and then he can appoint you to like something, and then you work your way up.
You just need a foot in the door at the NFL, you know?
That's what I have in mind.
I'm an ideas guy.
As long as I get there, I'll make it work.
You'll figure something out.
We should do some anonymous sources.

["Battard"] God Bless Football is presented by Smearnoff. We do game days. Please drink responsibly.
The Smearnoff Company, New York, New York. I am going to come clean. I lied to you two
segments ago. I didn't intend to lie to you.
Yes, I lied to you and I told you
that Anonymous Sources was coming up last segment
and we didn't get to Anonymous Sources.
I also told you the segment before
that we were gonna do Here's a Headline
and then I forgot to do my Here's a Headline.
So we're having a great episode so far,
but last segment I told you
that Anonymous Sources was coming up.
This segment, and that is in fact the truth,
because right now, we're gonna play a brand new edition
of Anonymous Sources, presented by Smyrnaf,
the world's number one vodka, please drink responsibly.
Mikey, take it away.
Well, for those of you who listened last week,
you remember Anonymous S anonymous sources is I read just
that a quote from an anonymous source about a team in the NFL.
Last year, we limited it to only AFC teams.
This week, we're going to do all NFC teams.
Okay, these are all quotes from an anonymous source about a certain NFC team.
And you guys are going to tell me you guys are going to guess which NFC team, and you guys are gonna tell me, you guys are gonna guess
which NFC team they're talking about.
And you can guess along at home as well if you want to.
And if you want, you can follow our feed,
God bless football.
And if you're playing along live,
just tweet your guesses at us,
hashtag anonymous sources,
and then we'll know right away if you were right or wrong.
Because we're doing this live at the same time,
together, all of us.
Whenever you're listening to it, we're doing it.
You know what I mean?
That's exactly when it's happening.
I like to think, some people will say,
you're pre-recorded, you're taped, this isn't live.
And you know what I say?
No, this is a live show to you,
the listener who is listening right now.
Exactly, what he said.
Yep.
Right now, I'm live, right now you're live.
We're in the moment anyway.
We're in the moment.
Anonymous sources. You wanna go first?
Well, isn't it, doesn't it go like this?
You give an anonymous source
and then we have to guess which one it is?
Sure. Okay, cool.
All right, here's the first quote.
Yeah. Quote.
They are putting a lot of trust
in their ability to draft.
They are keeping the true difference makers
and letting go of those they feel were overpaid now
or resting on their laurels.
Wow.
Which NFC team is this anonymous executive referring to
when he says, quote, they are putting a lot of trust
in their ability to draft. they are keeping the true difference makers and letting go of
those who they feel are overpaid or resting on their laurels.
49ers.
Fuentes?
I'm gonna say Los Angeles Rams.
Billy Gill is the best at this game because he got so many right last
week and he's already won for one today. The San Francisco 49ers. Oh baby. That's why they
call me Mr. Football. No one calls me that. I do sometimes. Okay. Sometimes. At night.
Oh am I there or just? No okay you know when I'm talking to my
whoopie I said you know Billy Gill that Mr. Football. All right here's the next one.
Me and Mr. Football had a great recording today if only two guys showed up. Anyway he's
on assignment. All right quote I like what they have done they have gotten better I
do not know how much we will see it in their record though. If they
win eight games, is that progress? Which NFC team are
they referring to when they say that? One more time. Like what
they have done. They've gotten better. I do not know how much
we will see it in their record. If they win eight games, is
that progress? Bears. I will also say the Chicago Bears.
You both are correct.
It is the Chicago Bears.
I don't believe how well you're,
do you have it Billy?
Do you have it? No, I don't.
Do you have all my sources, my anonymous sources?
It has to be someone obviously that had less than eight wins.
So it was a team that wasn't that good.
And the options then become the Giants.
The Giants better. I mean, first, at first, the Giants, maybe I guess, because of quarterbacking,
but didn't feel like a Giants thing. When he first said it, I thought the Giants and I go,
have they really gotten that much better with Russell Wilson? And then, yeah,
then I was like, five game jump is a lot. Yeah, that's a ton. Yeah.
All right. Next one quote.
There would be a lot about them. That scares me, but it's not the players.
I'll be curious with role players if there is a drop off because you have to have a vision for on how to deploy those guys.
Quote, there would be a lot about them. That scares me, but it's not the players.
I'll be curious with role players if there's a drop-off because you have to have a vision for how to deploy these guys
You have to have a vision for how to deploy these guys the role players there's a big hint in there
Give it to me one more time like
It's not gonna help
There would be There would be a lot about them that scares me,
but it's not the players.
I'll be curious with role players if there is a drop off
because you have to have a vision for how to deploy these guys.
I have a question.
Are we doing the same rules as last time?
We're not repeating.
Yes.
OK, no repeats. We'll save repeats for uh for the players one because
little little little spoiler. We're gonna probably play this
at the draft. I'm really good ones. I'm gonna say the
Minnesota draft in Nashville. The draft in Nashville. Come
join us. I'm gonna say the Minnesota Vikings.
I'm going to say the Minnesota Vikings.
I'm somewhat stumped. I think it's not the players, role players, how you deploy them Why would there be a drop-off I
I mean it could be it could be the Vikings it could also be the Seahawks if you get rid of your
quarterback
Or maybe your coordinators well, I was thinking
Could be the coordinators in Detroit
or it could be there's a new head coach
that's trying to figure out.
Can I change my answer?
No.
No, okay.
I'll go with the Lions.
Yeah, well, you know, come on.
Billy got it.
Yeah, that's done.
Billy got it.
Damn, I'm on fire.
No.
I love that you cursed to make me pay for it.
Yeah.
Oh, sorry.
I forgot. There is also cursing in the background
behind you Fuentes in the last one.
I had to yell at Malley
because he was very emotional or something.
I heard you go.
Wow, Mike Malley of all people.
He's back there.
Hey Mike, wave.
Potty mouth.
There we go.
Hi Mike, good job.
Yeah.
Anyway.
Ready for the next one?
Yeah, I'm on fire right now.
They are going for it.
One executive said their coach is like let's go.
I do respect that it's a boldness
that is not afraid to fail.
Kind of like how Howie Roseman in Philly
pouncing on Saquon Barkley.
They are going for it.
Their coach is like, let's go.
I do respect that.
It's a boldness that is not afraid to fail.
Kind of like how Harry Roseman in Philly pouncing on Saquon Barkley.
I'm going to say Rams.
I love how this guy likes the coach saying, let's go.
Yeah.
I'm thinking a coach that would say, let's go.
Yeah, actually, Sean McVeigh is a let's go. Yeah, actually I'll go. Sean McVay is a let's go coach.
That's why I said it.
Yeah, so I'll also say the Rams.
I didn't give this one much thought.
But it's not him.
No.
Oh, well I'm not locked in yet.
Yes you are.
I didn't say final answer.
Double or nothing, so it's not the Rams.
We both had the Rams, so we'll guess again.
Their coach is like, let's go.
One more time, Mike?
They are going for it. Coach is like, let's go. One more time, Mike. They are going for it.
Coach is like, let's go.
I do respect that.
It's a boldness that is not afraid to fail.
Kind of like how Harry Roseman in Philly
pouncing on Saquon Barkley.
So did we sign an older player?
Their coach is like, let's go.
There's a hint.
All right. It is the commanders. I right, uh, it is the commanders.
I was gonna explain it for those who were just listening. I turned my hat backwards and yes. The commanders?
I didn't get the guess again.
You got it wrong. We know it. No, I'm not gonna give myself credit for that one.
Dan Quinn a let's go guy. Yeah, Dan Quinn's a big let's go guy.
Dan Quinn's a big let's go guy.
I don't think so.
Dan Quinn's a big let's go guy.
I feel like I was misled there.
Can I tell you something?
Not a fan of the whole let's go thing.
I don't like people that just say let's go
at the end of everything.
Weird trend with the kids.
Yeah.
Weird trend.
Anyway.
All right, let's go.
All right, quote is a long one. Oh no.
Quote, there is a big push by the owners to stop firing people and eating all the
dead money with coaches. Some owners are paying credence to that. If you have the
most stable ownership, you come out and say, I believe in these guys. It's been a
weird set of circumstances, but they are the right people.
There is no way you can run a franchise going from a bad year
to a playoff mandate.
All right, so this is a team that has a long standing coach,
obviously.
So there is a big push by the owners
to stop firing people and eating all the dead money with coaches.
Some owners are paying credence to that. If they have the most stable ownership, you come out and
say, I believe in these guys. It's been a weird set of circumstances, but they are the right people.
There is no way you can run a franchise going from a bad year to a playoffs mandate.
the Panthers going from a bad the right way. Nice. Cuz it
could be a team like the Panthers.
It fires people every single year.
Yeah. I don't know. Mikey's eyes
perked up when he said that. So,
I'm going to go Panthers. Yeah, I'm
going to go Saints. You guys were
more right the other way. I'm
going to go with the Cowboys. No, they just got a new coach.
Uh uh more right the other.
What the hell does that mean
with the last question?
Someone that's been there.
Someone that's been there. If
you have a more stable
ownership, the owner can come
out and say, quote, I believe in these guys. It's been a weird set of circumstances, but they are the right people.
Weird set of circumstances.
No, there is no way you can run a franchise going from a bad
year to a playoffs as a mandate.
The Giants.
Yeah, David's been around a while.
I'm saying Giants.
Yeah, sure.
You got it. Wow. That's the New York Giants. I'll give you a while. I'm saying Giants. Yeah, sure. You got it.
Wow.
That's the New York Giants.
I'll give you a point.
Fuentes.
Thank you.
You got a point there, Fuentes.
Just to make things interesting.
Because my lion's one was not great.
Let's do one more.
Let's do one more.
One more.
Okay.
Quote, they got a little better, but they are still working from
a deficit.
They were a three year reset from last year, but they are still working from a deficit.
They were a three year reset from last year,
so this is just year two for them.
This sounds like the Giants again.
It's not, it's not, okay.
They got a little better,
but they're still working from a deficit.
They were a three year reset from last year,
so this is just year two for them.
I'm gonna say the Arizona Cardinals. I was thinking Falcons maybe but they got Kirk Cousins and that
wouldn't have been a three-year rebuild. They got a little better especially at
the end of last year. But they were working from a deficit. They were in a
three-year reset. know, year three,
big year, big year for them.
Big year.
Year three is when you'd grow and build.
A little better.
They were a three year reset from last year.
So this is just year two for them.
They got a little better. for a three-year reset from last year. So, this is just
in there. Yeah. Yeah. Yes, it was the daddy V turned around
and he was telling me, small got bigger I'm like hey you're
cheating Danny B gets a point Danny B gets a point wait you guys are cheating
I don't know what you're talking about one more one more one more sure fine I
got I got two more if you want two more I got two left all right let's do one
quick and then see if we can sneak the other one in. Okay, quote, quote, it's like the 2015 cults all over again signing older
guys who have been hurt who are on their third or fourth contracts. You cannot
build a team with old players, especially old players who have been cut because
they were hurt.
It's like the 2015 Colts all over again signing older guys who have been hurt who are on the third or fourth contracts.
You can't build a team with old players, especially old players who have been cut because they
were hurt.
Hmm.
The New York Giants.
No, we already did the Giants.
We already did them. We don't repeat. Oh, I the giant already did them. We don't repeat. Oh
Is it the Saints
Hold on. Give me one. Give me a second
Guys that are hurt all the time. This is a part where I started overthinking and I'm gonna say I'm gonna say Falcons
Neither is correct
From last year playoff playoff scene. I meant the Rams I meant they did the
Rams no we didn't know we did it I didn't mean the Rams though I meant the
I meant the commanders no we did the commander this time I mean the Rams oh
no no it's not he told us it's not I meant the Seahawks. And Seahawks were definitely not a playoff, but I meant the Buccaneers.
I met the Buccaneers was the thing.
No, think, think, think further north, further north.
Oh, I meant I meant the yeah, that's who I meant.
Green Bay. I love Green Bay.
It's not me. No, I think I meant the West Vikings.
Maybe that's exactly where you think that's
what I'm like a soda Viking that's what I thought yeah all right one more one
more we can't end on that horrible note yeah that was pretty bad well
considering what that quote was take a listen to this one quote they are a
well-run team but what they want to do and what their fans want them to do are
two different things right now they are more serious about staying relevant
and keeping that brand up high than they are about winning.
They are buying low on former highly drafted picks,
but how often do those guys really pan out?
This sounds like the Dallas Cowboys.
I'm gonna say the Rams just have a different answer than you.
It is the Dallas Cowboys. Way to go Danny B.
Wow, Danny, you did it. Good job, Danny.
All right, when we come back, we have our top five Super Bowls.
Don't go anywhere. Guys, tech is not really my thing.

Alright, we've been teasing this all so long. We just played another great edition of Anonymous Sources.
As usual, I started out hot, completely fell apart at the end.
Mike Fuentes was cheating, Danny B was giving him the answers, Mike Malley was cursing in
the background.
Things have gone well so far this episode, but we don't wanna end it and leave you hanging
before we give you our top five Super Bowls.
And you again can tweet at us your top five Super Bowls,
hashtag top five Super Bowls,
at us hashtag God bless football, follow us on our feed.
Mikey, do you have your top five Super Bowls?
I do, I'll run through them
and then you can run through yours.
No, no, no, you don't have to, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Take your time, because I didn't do mine.
Yeah, yeah, okay.
All right, that's what I was just checking
to see if everybody had them, not to just start going.
And as we do with our top fives,
you start at five, not number one.
Don't tell us what your number one Super Bowl is right away.
All right, fair.
All right, do you want me to go first?
Do you wanna go first?
You go first with your number five.
We'll all do number fives. Oh, okay, we'll do fives across the board. All right, my you want me to go first? Do you want to go first? You go first with your number five. We'll do number fives.
Okay, we'll do fives across the board.
All right. My number five Super Bowl is free agency.
Yeah, free agency. My number five Super Bowl.
Mikey, your number five Super Bowl.
My number five Super Bowl is Thanksgiving.
Very rarely do we get good matchups,
and I'm always guilted for watching it.
Okay. By certain members for watching it. Okay.
By certain members of my family. Faster. Let's go faster.
Fuentes, your top five Super Bowl.
Don't have it. Keep going. It's up to you.
Okay. My number four, Thanksgiving.
Yeah, it's my number four because I get excited about it. I like the idea of it,
but I also get taken away from the games. Oftentimes by the time we get to the late game,
I'm kind of tired. I don't really pay attention. So my number five Super Bowl is Thanksgiving. but I also get taken away from the games oftentimes by the time we get to the late game.
I'm kind of tired.
I don't really pay attention.
So my number five Super Bowl is Thanksgiving
or my number four Super Bowl.
You're number four?
Gotta be faster, gotta be faster.
Let's go.
We're good, don't worry.
My number four Super Bowl is the Super Bowl.
The rivalry rarely lives up to the hype.
Really?
My number three Super Bowl is the NFL Draft.
Your number three Super Bowl. Pre
agency. It's it's exciting. It's exciting for a while. Okay.
My number two Super Bowl is opening night.
I agree with you. Number two. Opening night. Opening opening
night. See, Fuentes was worried about us, and now we still have 40 seconds
to each give our number one Super Bowl.
You really went for a long time on Thanksgiving.
I was like worried about it.
We didn't.
Don't, I'm a professional.
I'm looking at the clock here.
I wouldn't waste time for no reason.
Just filling in time with unnecessary words.
I get right to the chase.
Boom, boom, boom.
You say, hurry it up.
I hurry it up.
I don't delay.
I don't waste time.
I get right to the point.
Know what I mean?
Jelly bean.
My number one Super Bowl is the Super Bowl.
My number one is the draft.
It is the Super Bowl. Wow.
And it's also next.
Next week.
On the calendar, next on the calendar. Next on the calendar. Hey, next. Next week. On the calendar.
Next on the calendar.
Next on the calendar.
