Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. This is the Don LeBattor Show with the Stugatz Podcast. I wanted this segment to offer Stugatz a hearty mazel tov because Tariq Cohen has become a New York jet for a year, but he has gone outside to smoke a celebratory heater and he is not here to enjoy and share my congratulations. I do want to ask the room about the New York Jets. What's the best story? For Aaron Rodgers this year him being great or him being terrible I was gonna say the Lord of the Rings, but then you started talking more Aaron Rodgers
Starting point is 00:00:54 I reread the fellowship of the ring this weekend. Yeah started the two towers yesterday again Doing a big reread ring of power coming back in August the best story About Aaron Rodgers? I mean, I think it just depends, Dan. I think Jets fans are like, this has gotta be it, right? Like, something's gotta happen this year. But all the people that don't like Aaron Rodgers thought last year was the best story
Starting point is 00:01:17 because he got hurt after like three snaps. So I'm asking all of, not just Jets fans, I'm asking everybody, the best thing that can possibly happen from a content perspective. He tears his other Achilles running out to the field with an American flag. Would be funny just because that would be the lasting image. And it's not funny to the person
Starting point is 00:01:35 so much as it is to the franchise. Me personally, I wanna see Aaron Rodgers play well. I think him being great is the best story. Yeah, I wanna see him play well outside of Green Bay. Look at what a big deal he was last year. A lot of it's because of some of the ridiculous things that he said, most of it anyways. But I would like to see that franchise
Starting point is 00:01:54 have Aaron Rodgers be great in that uniform. Time's ticking down here. This might be his last season, for real. And I haven't seen him be great in about a year and a half. And I want to see him be great again on the field. I heard Tom Bombadil was going to be in the new season of rings of power, which is really exciting because he wasn't in the fellowship of the ring. They cut that entire chapter, those two chapters really out of the movies.
Starting point is 00:02:20 But he's a lot of people's favorite character. And a lot of people were talking about on Twitter last week It was like a Twitter prompt is like who are two people that matched each other's freak and Tom Bombadil and Goldberry was my vote Because those two I they're just out there in the woods eating dinner running around talking to trees Singing songs. I mean total freaks. I love him He doesn't actually have to be great that defense was really fun to watch and the quarterback put them in really bad positions. If he's just okay, it might be good enough. I also don't watch porn.
Starting point is 00:02:51 If you're a person that doesn't like Aaron Rodgers and you root for bad things to happen to him for whatever reason, is it funnier if he gets hurt again or if he's just bad? Like he's healthy the entire season and just is bad. Yeah, I think that's the option. That's the option you want. Cause make no mistake about it,
Starting point is 00:03:09 Aaron Rodgers being great and leading the Jets to the Super Bowl is only a good story in New York to Jets fans. To the rest of the country, I think there's Aaron Rodgers fatigue. I think we're all rooting against the guy. I think he's a blowhard. I think he's just done.
Starting point is 00:03:25 The reasons that you outlined are why he's also garnered a lot of support from people that don't necessarily follow football all that passionately. He is held up by a lot of people because he espouses the virtues that they believe in. I think the perfect start is give them a good hot start, maybe first five, six weeks of the season. Jets fans get real excited and then it all crumbles.
Starting point is 00:03:46 I don't know what Pornhub is. Someone had to explain it to me. There are a number of things here that can be interesting about this. Him being excellent at this age, just because LeBron and Tarassi and Serena Williams and some people of and Tom Brady of some age have shown us that a different result could be possible at any other point in human history other than now we'd be declaring Aaron Rodgers at this age done quarterbacks can't play that position
Starting point is 00:04:18 well into their forties uh... the idea of the jet swallowing his excellence is super interesting but him getting his voice amplified when making choices that have resulted in a marketing meeting where state farm got together and said you know what i know we've been using erin rogers is our commercial spokesman but we're going to have to go to the lopez brothers now because uh... what's working with the erin rogers is palatable and safe to all of america
Starting point is 00:04:48 we're gonna have to pull that for him to go from the choices he's made to basically shredding what used to be his identity as a careful quarterback who wouldn't say the things that he's presently saying if he he were also to be great in New York, it would capture the league by storm. Chris mentioned Aaron getting off to a hot start
Starting point is 00:05:09 and things falling apart. Now they start out in San Francisco. If they win that game, obviously that's huge, but they could drop that one. Then they're at Tennessee, that should be a win. They're versus New England. New England's kind of in disarray. That one should be a win.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Versus Denver, you think that one's a win. Versus Minnesota, probably a win there. Then they host Buffalo. Now Buffalo, that's a statement game there. Week six versus Buffalo, that's a big measuring stick game for Aaron and the Jets. That's where I want the peak to be. Really?
Starting point is 00:05:40 I want them to be. You want them to win that game? Win that game, be five and one after Monday night football, Jets fans feeling themselves, and then the down. Okay, well then they head to Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh by week seven, I think we've already penciled in a quarterback controversy because when you have two quarterbacks, you don't have one.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Then you're off to New England, that's a win. Then you host the Texans. That one could be interesting. Week nine, Halloween night on a Thursday, Thursday night football versus Houston Toss-up probably then you head out to Arizona for week 10. That's Sunday game Then you host the Colts in week 11 then your bi-week is week 12 great bi-week week 12 Bi-week is good in the NFL Dolphins. I believe a week six bi-week bad bye bad bye
Starting point is 00:06:20 You don't want it that early come back We've got a minor penalty for derailing Chris it off around the sounder it sounds like so you've got two minutes for derailing for Insisting on doing one they won this one losses get out versus the Seahawks Brazzers has a free trial. I'll be back Thank you. Don't threaten us. Genesis is in there. Go ahead and- Wait! Can I go to the penalty box?
Starting point is 00:06:50 Fire off, no. Monaco, that was so stupid when you did that, Dan, that was so embarrassing. Nope, you can stay right there. I thought Ring of Power season one was really good. I'm trying to derail someone, please! Give me a penalty, my back is nuts. Give me the start of the day music, please.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Start of the day, start of the day please Start of the day start of the day in this year start of the day Start of the day start of the day in this year start of the day Start of the day start of the day in this year start of the day Start of the day start of the day in this year start of the day, it is the start of the day. So the Jets host the Dolphins on December 8th at one. Billy mentioned the Vikings and ML football has this stat that surprised me. Two time champion Eli Manning in his career threw more touchdown passes to the Vikings in games played against the Vikings than he did against the Vikings.
Starting point is 00:08:00 Threw more touchdown passes to the Vikings than he threw to the Giants while playing against the Vikings. That's a bit hard to believe. Wouldn't you say that there would be more pick sixes that he had in Vikings games than touchdown passes? I wanted to ask you since your back's still got smelling like cigarettes as it relates to the Jets, we were talking about what the better story is and i believe that erin rogers
Starting point is 00:08:28 elevating the jets out of their uh... lifetime of incompetence is a better story than the jets just dragging down the and of erin rogers career like i had down the rest of it everybody's career it would be amazing to see in that division where that team has been the worst in the history of that division yes there are fewer division titles there than the Colts have and that division I don't know if the Oilers a million years ago also one more somehow in that division
Starting point is 00:09:03 but him lifting them from the muck, we were talking about whether the story would be better. Jessica was arguing, for Jets fans it would be better. I think it's better for football, and I think it's better for people's interest in football, just generally, if the Jets are good, because Aaron Rodgers makes them good. How about this show?
Starting point is 00:09:23 Like what's the best result for this show? It's Aaron getting hurt early Want to do that? That we've done it already. It was it was done as well and as funny as it can be done to me at this point It would be redundant. I mean if it happens twice a second time then I don't want the same exact thing happens I don't want the same exact thing happens. I'm not a leg I mean that show after is pretty It'd be a good story He's saying is like legitimately crazy. That's like it has to be said it is super offensive and crazy
Starting point is 00:10:02 That's right him him making more of a platform, more of a mess, more relevance because he gets more of a voice to do these other things because football gives him a voice. I'm not saying it's good, I'm just talking as a story by itself. I don't think it's good for the country. I'm just talking about the interest around football. Them being good would be a great story.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Part of the story is that he said that the government created aides on a podcast. Oh no, I know. Listen, he's not the most likable fellow in the world. I get it. I understand that. I'm having a hard time getting myself to root for Aaron Rodgers. I don't believe that. You're right. I don't believe that. You had every reason to say that and question me. I was lying. I am rooting for Aaron Rodgers, but Dan is right,
Starting point is 00:10:46 because it's a New York team. They've been terrible forever. Aaron Rodgers against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs would be something that everyone would get excited about. So yes. Just in the regular season, every time that they've teased us with a potential matchup, one of the two has been injured.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Imagine all the people that went to the secondary market looking for tickets and weren't able to get because the demand was so high. Well, I know a place where you can actually get tickets on that secondary market, even if the demand is high. And that place is game time, guys. Yeah, game time. Do they have anything for week 15 jets at Jaguars?
Starting point is 00:11:19 I guarantee you they do, but you may want to. But sometimes if you wait up closer to the actual event you'll get these crazy flash deals on the game time app yeah I want you right now listening to my voice to create an account and use a code Dan that is D-A-N and you will get $20 off your first purchase I've used this I've used this promo code I'm itching to find other promo codes because I'm on game time so much terms apply last-minute, lowest price guaranteed. That part is important because if you find a cheaper ticket out there they will match and then some over at game time. Great
Starting point is 00:11:51 customer service, love you game time. The thing that you're articulating Jessica about whether it would be good for America or not, that more division ain't good for America. More platforming of insanity is not good for america but i'm strictly looking at this as a football story like what is the best result that is going to attract the most interest we could do one show off of him getting injured again him making that team relevant and furthering his own platform
Starting point is 00:12:25 while making it relevant. I'm not rooting for it, but it would be the more interesting story. The best story is Jets, Packers, Super Bowl, and Jordan Loveout plays Aaron Rodgers and they win the game. Backstreet's back. All right. Since the dawn of mankind, we've cooked our food over an open flame and debated the best way to
Starting point is 00:12:45 grill. One thing not up for debate, grilling and beer always go together. But not just any beer will do. Whether you barbecue, text in style, or just celebrate Wednesday with burgers and dogs, I love Miller Lite. Every single time my team plays on television, I am sitting behind that television screen with a Miller Lite or three. Miller Lite keeps it simple, undebatable quality, tastes as great as your barbecue.
Starting point is 00:13:09 It's the beer that strips away everything you don't need and holds on to what matters the most. With the Miller Lite in hand, grilling doesn't just taste great, it tastes like Miller time. To get Miller Lite delivered right to your door, visit MillerLite.com slash Dan. Or you can find it pretty much anywhere that sells beer. Celebrate responsibly. Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 96 calories per 12 ounces. Whoo!
Starting point is 00:13:36 Don LeBattard. I heard that as a woman faking pain. I didn't think that sounded real. I really didn't, you know. It was not fake. It was in no way fake. You can spot a woman faking it. Stugats! Yes, I can, Jess.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Expert. I've been married 40 years. This is the Don LeBattar Show with the Stugats! The podcast that Greg Cody does, and we celebrate it here every week, and he thanks our listeners for their giant support of what it is that he's doing, The Greg Cody Show featuring Greg Cody. With. Fine.
Starting point is 00:14:16 He often shows dangerously bad judgment. So when he comes in here and tells me, I want to talk about something that we talked about on our podcast, and he frames it as, I'd like to make fun of an illness that is funny because of what it's named, I get scared. I don't want to do that without any proper vetting. Well, give it a shot. Well, I see all of this. I'm not surprised that fear sweeps through the room
Starting point is 00:14:43 and then you immediately emerge and they're like, yeah Sure, talk about whatever Greg Cody is talking about that makes fun of serious illness. We're live We've made fun of Ligma for years Dan on this show. He's just saying hear him out. That's okay But I think there's the danger in bad judgment Is that once you hear it out you cause the problems that you can't then correct if this hasn't been properly vetted. Yeah, vetting, shmetting. Exactly right. Then the pepper happened in that whole thing. Core vetting is more like it. I wouldn't worry about vetting this. I would just trust my judgment. I mean he did talk about it on the Greg Cody show. He didn't get fired or anything. Who would fire him?
Starting point is 00:15:20 You like to say mumps. I would fire myself. Would you? I think I might if I said the wrong thing. You wouldn't. I'm very sensitive. I don't think so. And then what would you do? Would you pull yourself into the office, have a sit down, Greg, we gotta talk. Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:32 I wouldn't fire myself, I would suspend myself for three days so that I would be back in time to do the next episode. You say indefinitely. How about three podcasts? Indefinitely. You say indefinitely a week later. And would you understand,
Starting point is 00:15:44 as being the one getting suspended by yourself? Would you understand? I would be very upset at first and then I would forgive myself. Yeah, I suppose. Yeah. There are some funny named diseases and ailments. I think we can agree. My mom had a brain tumor that was named after Sonic the Hedgehog. There you go. See? Huh. You can look that up. See? That's a first person experience. I still feel awkward laughing about that though. She had a brain tumor called a sonic hedgehog brain tumor. It's objectively funny. It's funny. And if you're the medical community getting together
Starting point is 00:16:15 saying what should we name this? And that's what came up on my podcast. More funny names? The great Celine Dion, okay? The great Celine Dion suffers from a malady. Oh no. Hold on. Ear, mouth, ear, mouth.
Starting point is 00:16:28 This is horrible. The hearing, ear, face. I might jump off the gravedracks. This is horrible. This is the vetting. Where did you say Genesis was? We're vetting. Here we will then tell him if it's okay or not okay.
Starting point is 00:16:37 I don't want to be around during this. This is not great. What is Lickman? It's a malady. Look, I did the limbo bending over backward to say, I am not making fun of this disease or people who suffer from it, because it is an incurable disease having to do with the joints and it gets worse and worse over time. It sounds like a horrible prison.
Starting point is 00:16:56 The limbo's like a weird reference to Paul also concerning this. Thank you. Thank you. You're welcome. Okay, and I'm just wondering, the medical community at some point got together and said, what should we call this disease that affects people's joints? And what they came up with, which struck me as funny, was stiff person syndrome. I regret this so much. I mean, stiff person syndrome.
Starting point is 00:17:21 You know, why would I ever follow Billy? Let's not let, look, we heard about, let's follow the let's not let I look we heard about let's not let's not go down now thank you we heard about this is the vetting Billy let's not go down this path Greg Cody both of you go sit in the whole thing I don't want to this now I don't want to hear him out anymore we're not we're not going to we're said no more we're gonna go a different path Greg I think you should send yourself to the penalty box. Have a conversation with yourself. You know what?
Starting point is 00:17:47 I might do that. You've wronged. I might do that. Got a minor penalty, two minutes for ruining comedy. I think the rule is, yourself or an immediate family member has to have stiff person. That helps.
Starting point is 00:18:04 When you did it, it worked because you had the drum. I didn't know he was gonna go with Celine Dion, especially after that video just came out where she, I think there's a documentary about her coming out and it just seemed, what she's going through seems horrible. Horribly sad. And I just saw that trailer a few days ago and now Greg comes in with this,
Starting point is 00:18:25 and it doesn't feel the same as me laughing about Sonic the Hedgehog. I feel like if Celine had watched this, she'd smile. I love that Greg put you all in this spot. He's harmless. He's gone, you're still like. We fell for it. It's not falling for it.
Starting point is 00:18:39 If somebody were to go back, I encourage, I encourage people who are listening to the very start of this show on YouTube to listen to the first time Billy spoke on today's show because about four or five minutes in he decided to get in and it was just to keep the balloon in the air on supporting Greg Cody on something that couldn't be supported. That should be an Olympic game, by the way. Keepy upy, Chris. I feel like we could be on a team in the Olympics.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Just keep the balloon up. It is what he does, Billy does, with the entirety of his career. It's what he has dedicated himself to. Supporting things that shouldn't be supported. That can't be supported. Sometimes it floats away, you kick it with a big toe. And sometimes it explodes and the entire company descends into the sewage you know what the the one thing that I have to say about stiff person syndrome it's a very serious malady and and there are
Starting point is 00:19:34 variations of it I'm suffering from stiff person syndrome right now I don't He just made an erection joke like that's the last thing that you heard an erection year Dan No, if you go to the penalty box instead of me, I'm gonna kick your ass no you can stay there for it's an erection year I'm not kicking you out for that Chris is just trying to signal his dad on how not to ruin comedy and his dad isn't taking any of the cues well i mean it look there's there's a the nickname for stiff person syndrome and it's called erectile function syndrome so uh... and i a m a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a Just get him out of here. That'll be all with that. Just get him out of here. Just terrible judgment all around.
Starting point is 00:20:25 I'm sorry. Are ya? Are ya? No, because you and Billy spend all of your Tuesdays here. You do. It is true. It is true. You, Billy and Cody exist to make my Tuesdays
Starting point is 00:20:40 a lot harder than they should be and threaten the company from every angle. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha every angle. Speaking of harder, what? He doesn't know how to play with the show. He just, you can't orchestrate the comedy. You can't teach him how to do it. You just gotta sit back and watch him fail. No, it's like he's already been really offensive
Starting point is 00:21:03 and they want him to make a more offensive joke, but he doesn't wanna go there. We found the line. Oh, he's already been really offensive and they want him to make a more offensive joke but he doesn't want to go there. We found the line. Oh did you? He already went there. Finally found it. I want to check in here and this is bad judgment by me but go ahead and hand that microphone over to Taylor please because I don't want to do this anymore with Greg Cody. I do want to go to Taylor because i am told that he has a top five list uh... that includes some observations having golf with the cody's this weekend some observations that might not be offensive that might be funny endearing and illuminating about what it is to spend time with the father-son tandem of greg
Starting point is 00:21:43 and chris cody what do you think is going to be revealed here, Stugatz? I'm not certain, but as you said, Taylor did play golf with Greg and Chris Cody on Sunday. I have played golf with both of them at the same time. It's a hoot. It is. It's fun. Like Greg Cody on the golf course is a lot of fun. But I can't imagine what Taylor took down as his top five observations of Greg Cody playing golf because all my Observations are good ones before we get to Taylor doing this Chris and Greg What are you fearing here from having played golf with Taylor observing you two in the wild is Pretty funny. You guys have interesting father-son chemistry
Starting point is 00:22:21 He got the full experience Like I kind of don't want to get into what some of the stuff he did because I feel like it might be on his list But my dad like I know my dad has his things on the golf course and he played the hits for Taylor Taylor got the full Experience uncle dick was out there What a round yeah, what a foursome yeah, and uncle dick can bring out the worst in me believe me talk about erection, but I'm worried what Taylor's gonna say because golf for summary i think it because it frustrates me so much i want to be always better than i am
Starting point is 00:22:50 and so golf tends to bring out the worst in the in a lot of ways so any alcohol well you know that uh... taylor we setting this up with the whole i hear what do you have here do you just want to go straight to the top five straight into the top five all right now and these are just observations uh observations from golfing with the Cody's with Greg specifically Greg okay so does his son even need to be there? He wasn't observing anyone else.
Starting point is 00:23:13 His cars aren't interesting. Is Uncle Dick making an appearance here it's just featuring Greg? Most of Greg, some feuds between Greg and Chris. Okay, yes there are a lot of those that break out. Number five, Taylor. Hearing an, oh f**k me live after Greg shanks a shot. It was about... It's a staple. I'm not denying it. So seeing one live. Oh no. Go. Go. Oh fuck me.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Oh fuck me. I meant to play the last part, my bad. You're getting one of those a hole. Number four. Greg keeping score and getting mad at Chris for saying par and not a number. Greg keeping score and getting mad at Chris for saying par and not a number. Greg keeping score and getting mad at Chris for saying par and not a number. It's one of the most annoying things my dad does.
Starting point is 00:24:04 It's one of the most annoying things my dad does. Like hey, it's a par four. After the whole, I say par. He's like, what is it, a four? It's like, give me a number. It's on the score card. I don't want to look at a score card. I don't need to reserve to looking at a score card.
Starting point is 00:24:16 Just say four so I don't have to go back to my card and look at a score card and figure out what all this is. You're writing it on the score card. It's right in front of you. Okay, to say four and to say par is the same amount of effort. Yep. It's one syllable. He's right.
Starting point is 00:24:31 So when the scorekeeper is asking you, would you get that hole, just give me a numeral. That's all. It's exhausting. You seem tired. You're reacting as if you're tired of this from your son. Your son's not changing it at this point. This is not a first. Would you? And he rubs it in by saying the word par by the way. That's why he's saying it. I mean I get
Starting point is 00:24:53 one par a month. He gets like you know seven around and so he's subtly rubbing it in by saying par. I'm just saying par. That's what I'm doing. Just say three or four or five. That's all you gotta say. You're really mad about this. It's annoying. Golf brings out the worst in me. I admit that and I apologize ahead of time for whatever these next three are. That's what you're apologizing for in this segment. Well, he should be apologizing because I ask him every single round, could you just give me a number please instead of saying par birdie bogey number three Greg saying if he gets a hole in one on the par three we have to stop the round for an emergency Greg Cody show with Greg Cody emergency episode I say that because it's never gonna happen never gonna happen I've been playing go for 40 years thirty years and it hasn't happened yet so why should i
Starting point is 00:25:47 just hold up hold up so you're what you're saying is if you make a hole in one you're telling chris he's got to go back to the house and bring back the equipment so that you guys can do at that hole the live hole in one coverage emergency pod yeah well while a hundred and fifty golfers are queued up waiting because we're on the green for an hour and a half. Number two. If you don't give Greg a putt he thinks is a gimme, he'll hold it against you for the rest of the round. I can't believe there's one better than that. That is the pet peeve. If I'm standing over a putt that's a foot and a half and nobody is giving me a gimme.
Starting point is 00:26:26 You measured it with your putter. Okay, so I was two inches over. You can't do me a solid? And then if I have to putt and I miss the putt, oh my God. But then it wasn't a gimme if you missed it. Should've been. Should've been a gimme.
Starting point is 00:26:42 That's why they call it a gimme because you're giving somebody something. It's death, taxes, and my dad walking off a green, huffing and puffing, saying, I'm not giving out any more gimmies. No more gimmies. I won't give out, you could be on the lip of the cup and I'm gonna make you make that quarter inch putt.
Starting point is 00:26:58 I'm no more gimmies. If they don't give you one, right? Right, yes. Then you're not giving them one. Done. Correct, I love you. Right. Number one. Greg playing a. I love you. Right.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Number one, Greg playing a hole complaining that his glove feels uncomfortable only to realize it was on the wrong hand. There was one! Oh my God. That did happen. I was, terms, and responsible gaming resources. Don Lebatard. You don't remember the idea for a home run call?
Starting point is 00:28:27 I was probably like, that kinda thing. Something? Okay, no, the home run call was that kinda swing, that kinda thing. Stugats. Oh, that's a good call. Thank you. And plus, it doesn't matter who's hitting it,
Starting point is 00:28:41 like you're not tailing it to a particular name. Correct. You know, all that jazz, you know, you don't gotta do that. You just do a generic call. Oh, that would be a great call. Up, up, and away. That kind of swing, that kind of thing. This is the Don LeBattar Show with the StuGats.
Starting point is 00:28:59 I want to stay with golf here, not because I want to talk about lexie thompson though i do and not because i want to talk about chef for getting off which i also do uh... on the charges uh... yes thank you stagat correction and important to act as a child correction here or erection here yes if person syndrome but before i do that i don't want to leave just yet how it is that Greg Cody managed to wander around
Starting point is 00:29:27 with a glove that he was wearing incorrectly without realizing that he was wearing it incorrectly. How long did it take? You seem genuinely embarrassed by this. I am, because it made me worry about myself. I'm like, did I just have a small stroke? What happened there? Kind of like right there.
Starting point is 00:29:47 It was funny for me for one second, and then I was like, are you okay? You were concerned. I'm telling you, maybe if you don't golf a lot, this does like, you know what hand your golf glove goes on. And he came up to me on the fourth hole, just with this innocent. Four holes in?
Starting point is 00:30:02 I'm telling you, on the fourth hole. No, I thought it was a third hole. It was a legitimate, man, he goes to me, I'm going gloveless today, because this just feels weird on my hand. And I like turn my body, and I'm like, that's your right, I'm like, it's on the wrong hand. And then he pulls it off, and as he's putting it on,
Starting point is 00:30:17 like he's like, oh man, this is much better. And I'm just like. It fit beautifully. Where were you on that hole? Just like a glove. Maybe you were supposed to be having a small stroke if you weren't like near the green. No, we were at the tee box on the third or fourth hole.
Starting point is 00:30:31 It was scary. Here's the thing, Greg, put up your right hand. All right, now put up your left hand. And now turn your left hand this way. No, just your left hand. Just your left. And put your right hand back up how it was. See, the thumb's on the same side.
Starting point is 00:30:44 So is the index finger the ring and the pink? It could happen to anyone. See, the thumb's on the same side. So is the index finger, the ring, and the pink. It could happen to anyone. No, no, no, no, no. Hands are tricky. Billy, his thumb was in the pinky hole, and his pinky was in the thumb hole. Yeah, and I was trying to make it fit. And being perplexed, that's the scariest part.
Starting point is 00:30:59 It's because you'd think he would have in his brain, oh shit, it's the wrong, but he comes up to me with just this innocence of like, what's happening, why is this not feeling right? And I'm like, the glove don't fit, you know? Am I being punked, where's Ashton? Golf strokes, that was very clever. What I will say to you, Chris, is just like I'm viewing
Starting point is 00:31:18 South Florida's heat wave unprecedented and saying, this is as good as it's gonna get, it's gonna keep getting worse. It's 126 degrees in India. Your life right now with your father, this is the best it's going to be. It's going to keep getting worse. There are going to be more things like this glove incident where you're like, how does this age?
Starting point is 00:31:40 This is how it ages. I mean, it is. It's not gonna- And it's how you'll age. You are someone who doesn't care about learning. You've given up on the idea of I'm going to be formed and I'm good with who I am at this point. So if you're reluctant and stubborn about these things,
Starting point is 00:31:55 you're not going to do the things necessary to make that all stop happening. It's just gonna keep happening worse and more. It made me assess myself. I'm like, I'm gonna turn into him. Like I was literally in a car with Taylor, like I need to start reading more. I gotta stop smoking weed.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Like I am just like, I can't. Changed everything, huh? I was just like, I had a moment of like, I'm gonna turn into that. So I need to like be proactive. But imagine being poor Greg. He just wants to go, he wants to have a round of golf with his boy,
Starting point is 00:32:21 his brother and you know, a coworker, you know, a mentee if you will, and Taylor, right? And you have the son here, he makes simple requests, hey, don't say par, just give me the number on the scorecard. His son intentionally trying to confuse him the entire day, not saying if it's a three or four or five,
Starting point is 00:32:36 just saying par, bogey, all of that. Intentionally trying to confuse him. You have Taylor taking notes on everything that he does. You have Chris trying to correct everything that he says. I mean, how's a man supposed to relax? Who can blame him for putting a glove on the wrong hand? Yeah, Billy gets me, I tell ya. Greg, have you discovered, like in your,
Starting point is 00:32:55 I wouldn't say old age, but past middle age, that you've now turned into your parents, and do you feel like it was at some point inevitable that you would? No, no. I would say they were both better than me in terms of not doing things like that. My dad never golfed.
Starting point is 00:33:12 My dad, like Leviton, wouldn't know what end of the golf club to pick up. But like in terms of like some mannerisms. Get his ass. I feel like I find myself every day becoming more like my parents and I find my boyfriend starting to turn into his dad a little bit. Like he goes fishing and he wears these disgusting shoes.
Starting point is 00:33:34 I'm like that's something your dad would do. Jessica, my wife, you have to see these things for yourself to truly be mortified by them. Sometimes a loved one can point them out to you, but in order to change some things, you have to see them yourselves or some of us will be so stubborn that we will not actually make the change. The number of times that I have been looking at my wife with something I'm doing and the mirror that she's holding up to me is my father because I'm behaving like him and didn't realize I was behaving like him.
Starting point is 00:34:09 I get mortified by the way that those things have managed to make their way into my tapestry without me realizing it. Chris, and I kind of see it with you and Greg. And I do. My humor, I make jokes and I'm like, who am I? Right, exactly. You're Greg.
Starting point is 00:34:25 I started drinking the same coffee order as my mom. Every day growing up, she had a Doppio espresso macchiato. And if they put milk instead of foam, she'd get upset. She'd be like, there's too much milk in this cup. It's too heavy. I wanted foam. I didn't want milk. And now I'm drinking espresso macchiatos.
Starting point is 00:34:42 And if they put too much milk in, I say, I just wanted the espresso shots and the foam. And I look at myself sometimes and I ask myself, who have I become? Anytime I get a bill at a restaurant, I say, what did we break a window? And I punch myself in the face. You say that too?
Starting point is 00:34:57 That's a classic. I will say this, Jess, I didn't answer your question correctly because what came out on the golf course which was entirely 100% accurate was surly wild Bill Cody my dad was very irritable He had a lot of things that really upset him little tiny stuff barking dogs Clinking ice in a glass you hate that refrigerator you hated me eating ice my entire life Okay, and and that's I inherited that from my father. I tend to be overly irritable at stuff that doesn't matter,
Starting point is 00:35:29 that just little tiny minutia. And that's, yeah. Not to bring it back to a past topic, but imagine the person that named it irritable bowel syndrome. Yeah, IBS. As if the bowels have feelings. Right. Silly. That's a good point. Thank you Greg.
Starting point is 00:35:45 Irritable Gregg syndrome, it sounds like. Irritable Gregg syndrome. That's what all the Cody's get. Yeah, I like that. I should have a syndrome named after me. You should. What would you choose? I don't know. I would have chosen stiff person syndrome, but it was already taken. Right. That wouldn't be named after you. Well, if he was stiff, it wouldn't. Yeah, you know. Erection year. Scheffler has gotten off on the charges? Yes, he has. What are the details that we need to know? Is the police officer in any trouble whatsoever?
Starting point is 00:36:16 Well, the police officer was in trouble for originally not having the camera on, the body camera. Well, but he didn't get, he has a history of like doing donuts in the police car with a drunk pants Passenger there's a cop from Superbad not Scotty Scheffler. I thought you were talking about Scheffler Yeah, it's one of the perks of being a cop though. You could do those things. Well, mmm debatable Why he got into trouble for it and why it is that it's being reported that he has a pass that suggests that he's not the most responsible as as part of the charges
Starting point is 00:36:50 being dropped both sides have agreed not to have legal action taken against the other so it would appear on the outside looking in not a lawyer I'm not a lawyer that maybe there was some fault on the other side there if you're agreeing that you can't be sued well from I think Scheffler just wants it to go away. I think Scheffler didn't like the attention of all that. But from what we did see from Darlington and other camera angles, it didn't seem like Scheffler, even though it's not allowed to drive into an active crime
Starting point is 00:37:21 scene where you're investigating someone's death, it didn't seem like Scheffler from any angle that we got was disrespectful or kept the car moving much longer beyond the policeman's admonishment. Most people, I think, I haven't heard another opinion on this, most people see that situation and say that Scheffler shouldn't have been treated that way not because he's the number one golfer in the world
Starting point is 00:37:48 just like because it seemed like an overreaction from the police officer who was indeed trying to protect what could have been an investigative scene you're not allowed to drive through where they're investigating someone dying that's not something anyone's allowed to do not the number one golfer in the world or not anyone else but i think most reasonable people reasonable people thought the the the police officer was overly unnecessarily aggressive there
Starting point is 00:38:15 it could be but at the same time they did uh... now they obviously didn't prosecute the case but he originally was charged with a felony you know when you when you injure a police officer it's a felony and normally the cops take that pretty seriously but the lack of a body cam I think really made this well no one was injured though there was no injury the cop was taken to the hospital the cop was injured now there was a differing account from Jeff Darlington and the other witnesses as to how he was injured and that I think is
Starting point is 00:38:44 why none of this really adds up to the police officer's account of what happened because there were eyewitnesses. And Scottie Scheffler also said that he never did the things that were alleged to have happened. So I mean, yeah. Your opinion of the police weighs a lot into which side you're automatically giving credit and credence to.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Correct me if I'm incorrect though, I don't hear a whole lot of people defending the police officer in this instance. I don't see, we can argue about anything, especially when it comes to the politicization of police reform, we can argue about but the specifics of this incident I just don't see or hear a whole lot of people saying yeah that seems like the way to police well once I heard he didn't have his body cam on and and then I read some of the background about this cop not a pristine cop has a little bit of a record negative record then you're thinking to yourself
Starting point is 00:39:45 no way they're gonna prosecute this case so it's not a surprise that they dropped let's be honest the only one who had the right to do what he did was scottie chefler he had to get to the p g a championship the right to do what he did that i had was gonna play golf i think that major understood but i have a little error when i saw what the video i saw though i imagine scotty sheffler dragging the police officer who was holding on to his window for twenty or thirty yards like that's what i imagine when the arrest
Starting point is 00:40:14 happened that he was being arrogant or defiant or entitled but the video does it the video i saw maybe you guys have other video you've seen doesn't support a policeman who's been wronged wealthy i mean he was taken to the hospital i'm not saying it was justified and i'm not saying he didn't have a part in his own injury it was a cop
Starting point is 00:40:35 taken to a hospital and they were talking about a felony charge so until the body cam uh... lack of a body cam happened you're thinking all right what if they prosecute this case that i i i'd generally wonder chef lar were more vindictive if this had happened to greg cody and he were the number one golfer in the world this wouldn't have been dropped it wouldn't just go away to chef lar doesn't want this in his life that that that that you
Starting point is 00:41:00 would be vindictive about making sure you got public justice if you feel like you had been thrown in jail thrown in jail before a tournament because you wanted to get to be the number one golfer in the world the two people i'm sitting with the mess they would make of our legal system in the aftermath of being wrong just for the publicity of showing everyone they'd be wronged I think this police officer skated with Scheffler being kind about things and telling his lawyers no matter like I
Starting point is 00:41:32 Legitimately think here that this was so overblown that a lot of people could be less graceful about this than Scheffler's well What do you want him to do like the charges ended up being dropped the videos come out siding with him audio has come out That seemingly also sides with him like what else what else is he gonna do people would expect a lawsuit Billy puts two gods and Greg in that position you think would be a lawsuit you think they're just dropping it well here's the thing I'm the kind of guy who sweet talks a cop out of a traffic ticket okay I've done it on multiple occasions I know know just what to say. How do you do it? Pretend I pulled you over. Let's do this.
Starting point is 00:42:06 I pulled you over. Greg. You got role playing. Let's do this. Greg, I'm going to have to see your license and registration please. Yes, you certainly may officer. Here they are. And I have to tell you, I apologize in advance.
Starting point is 00:42:18 I didn't realize it, but as soon as I saw the blue lights, I looked and saw that I was going five, seven, ten, maybe ten miles over the ten Maybe ten miles forty three miles over. I really apologize and you were doing your job I'm sorry and that kind of thing actually has gotten me out of multiple tickets. That's it Can I sue the cop For doing that the Scheffler For doing that to Scheffler? For doing that to Scheffler? And ruining your bet. Because I had a 5% play on him to finish top five.
Starting point is 00:42:51 I had a 5% play on him. We should try to do it as a show. Sue him as a show. He shot a 66 after he was released from prison. But then he fell apart. Once it like, there's a moment. He ran, he ran. And he said that that was why.
Starting point is 00:43:00 He said like it all hit him the next day. Jail, not prison. Sorry. If you'd have blown up your first round, you'd have a better suit. Seriously. Backstreet's back. All right. Since the dawn of mankind, we've cooked our food over an open flame and debated the best
Starting point is 00:43:16 way to grill. One thing not up for debate, grilling and beer always go together. But not just any beer would do. Whether you barbecue, Texas style, or just celebrate Wednesday with burgers and dogs, I love Miller Lite. Every single time my team plays on television, I am sitting behind that television screen with a Miller Lite or three. Miller Lite keeps it simple, undebatable quality, taste as great as your barbecue, it's the beer that strips away everything you don't need and holds on to what matters the most.
Starting point is 00:43:47 With the Miller Lite in hand, grilling doesn't just taste great, it tastes like Miller time. To get Miller Lite delivered right to your door, visit MillerLite.com slash Dan. Or you can find it pretty much anywhere that sells beer. Celebrate responsibly.
