Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. This is the Don Levertor Show with this 2-Guts Podcast. So Greg, how do you defend the back shoulder throw? That's a very good question. You know when I played in the NFL My biggest concern was not being fooled by the statue of liberty play right so you know Classic. Yeah, so I never really had to concern myself much But you know, it's worth talking about you just can't analyze the back shoulder fade enough Mm-hmm, you know, but that was never my biggest concern. How about you? How did you defend it?
Starting point is 00:00:44 I took away the the back shoulder. Did you how do you do that? I would I would defend the back shoulder make them throw to the front shoulder It's a much more difficult throw and plus you have much more help in terms of safety They don't have to get to the back of the guy just to the front of the guy. I like that. So take away the back shoulder Yeah, why don't more corners do that right? I don't know I mean if only we had a former NFL cornerback to answer those questions I'm telling you. Yeah, it's crazy, but take away the back shoulder. You don't I do though good point You got Zach Thomas's Benefactor is what you got mm-hmm. Yeah, how you feeling about that by the way? It was a big mistake by you got a guy with a wooden water bottle
Starting point is 00:01:23 Yeah, it's uh... it doesn't stay focused i know i'm uh... i'm uh... i'm not feeling great about the whole zack thomas thing why i think i may have misplaced it in what regard for those of you gregg was invited by zack thomas and his family to be part of zacks hall of fame weekend much the the way I was invited by Tony Bacelli and his family last year. Now I went, I had a great time. I'll never go back again. Kent is a strange place, okay?
Starting point is 00:01:52 It's just awful. I've been there. Yeah, it's a weird place. But what are you regretting now that you, that you kind of, I mean, you tried to cut a deal with him. You wanted some stuff on the front end of this. He was just doing a kind thing by inviting you, Greg Cody, a man who has covered him,
Starting point is 00:02:07 his entire career and wrote and written many, a great article about him. He just wanted you to be involved and you said no. Yeah, I don't regret that as much as I regret being too honest about my reasoning and everything. Because I think it does make me seem a little bit petty if I'm being honest. You know, I do have
Starting point is 00:02:25 Are there exact tailors like that position the middle linebacker position? I'm Zach Taylor my bad Zach Thomas. That's a fun. Yeah, I'll pay up Zach Thomas like that position Obviously middle linebacker still exists, but the value of that position has shifted. Who is the modern day version? Wow, that's a good question. Stay focused, Greg. Yeah, no, no, I'm, I'm, I would say that who was the guy who played for Carolina? Keekley? Yeah, yeah, Dan Morgan.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Luke Keekley maybe. Who was no longer a player? But I guess the point I was trying to, I've been trying to throw you guys lifelines. It's whole segment, you don't want them. But the point I'm making is that the middle lineback position is one that is no longer in the league. No, I agree.
Starting point is 00:03:06 I agree. What is your bottle made out of? Yeah. So Greg, stay with Billy. Do not stay with Dominique Poplar. Eekly, do you love me? Christopher's like in my ear. I was trying to feed you a great thing
Starting point is 00:03:17 to say right there. Where's that great? Can you guys do me a favor and let Greg be Greg, okay? Like Greg Cook. He's fine. Keke, do you love me? Would have been a great joke. Why?
Starting point is 00:03:26 Cause it's a Drake song. Like trust the people around you. So Drake has a song named Keke Lee, do you love me? Exactly. Yeah, cause he's a big middle line back guy. He loves the stuff to run. I'm telling you, the people that trust in this scenario and this equation, Chris, your son, Billy,
Starting point is 00:03:42 because he loves you. If you wanna go back to that, you could say Teak Lee, do you love me? Because then we're talking about Teak Wood. Because I feel like that would be on your list of ranked woods. Yes. Teak, underrated wood.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Teak? Yeah. I'm not a Teak fan. Top five woods? No. Why not? I like my Hoganie. Really?
Starting point is 00:03:59 Yeah. Really? I'm a Hoganie guy. Do you have a top five woods for us? You're talking about trees? My favorite trees? Should I have a favorite wood, dad? Yeah. Pretty simple. Yeah, I have a top five woods for us? You're talking about trees, my favorite trees? You're talking about favorite wood, dad. Yeah, pretty simple. Yeah, I have a top five woods.
Starting point is 00:04:09 You do? Yeah, okay. Number five, pine. Uh-huh. B-B Not many people would say plywood. Number two, mahogany. Buh. And the number one would, bamboo. Yeah!
Starting point is 00:04:37 Thank you. What about tiger? Tiger wood. About morning wood. Morning wood, baby! There you go. So your trees though are different from your favorite type of wood? I think it would. About morning wood. Morning wood, baby! There you go. So your trees though are different
Starting point is 00:04:46 from your favorite type of wood? No, no, those are all trees. No, but I'm saying your list of top trees would be the same as your list of top wood. I think so, yeah. Okay, yeah, I think so. I don't think plywood's a tree. No, your arms are more.
Starting point is 00:04:58 It is. It comes from one. plywood, nobody respects plywood. Okay, it's the most denigrated. Why is the all woods? Right. I don't know. I think because it's it's layered, you know, it separates You get pl- you have to treat plywood because if it's rained on yeah, that's why tea is great Teak is great with water. They make boats out of teak. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, balsa wood is shit Get out of here balsa wood. Well, it's so light. well it's so like very limzo yeah the tissue paper of wood guys ever make like boats out of
Starting point is 00:05:30 balsa would like and regatta's and stuff like boy scouts yeah uh huh I did were you pine would guys have scout everybody raise your hand pinewood Derby boys raise your hands yeah yeah me Dominique belly Greg incredible damn right what happened with your your son Christopher here didn't partake in the fine with Derby we did not scout with him we we we sport I remember doing Me, Dominique, Bailey, Greg. Incredible. Damn right. What happened with your son, Christopher, here at Inpartake, in the fight with Derby? We did not scout with him. It was, we sported. I remember doing something where we'd go to the next street
Starting point is 00:05:51 and went to some guy's house. Yeah. Like, stole his boat. Like, that stole his wooden boat. Wooden leg would be another good use of wood. Why? I don't know. People don't have wooden legs anymore.
Starting point is 00:06:05 If you need an artificial limb, it's no longer wood. You know, it's metal. Yeah, it's titanium or metal. You guys hear that? Yeah. What do you know what it means? It's time for. No one hears well.
Starting point is 00:06:17 You hear that. There you go. Pretender or contender. Oh, wait a minute. Woo! Woo! This is going to conversation about wood. I am.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Whatever happened to a wooden leg, it needs an answer. I'll go ahead and continue. Are you certain that no one else has a wooden leg? You know what? Anybody in our audience who has a wooden leg, I'd be curious to know. You know? Why did the wooden leg go out of fashion? We should bring it back, right?
Starting point is 00:06:42 Right. It's, first of all, a wooden leg is more human limb like then... Like a blade in my opinion. The New England Patriots! I'd blade runner. Pretender or contender. Pretender. Pretender or contender. Pretender. Pretender. Yeah. Division 2 tough, conference 2 tough, pretender. Yeah. Division two tough, conference two tough, pretender. Yeah. Yeah, matcho and sterable.
Starting point is 00:07:07 That means that's the pretender sound. That's the pretender sound. So we're off the wooden legs now. I know. I'm looking up wooden legs. Don't worry about it. How many wooden legs? Speaking of wooden legs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Pretender or contender? Oh. Greg. Pretender. Woo! I'm pretender or contender? Uh, Greg. Pretender. I'm gonna say, uh, contender. Resurgence for Baker Mayfield, bad division, Bucks could win that division, find themselves in the playoffs. That's how it's done.
Starting point is 00:07:38 I have a good nominee for this game we're playing. Are you ready for mine? Chrissy Hind, Pretender or Contender? Pretender. Pretender. Woo! Anything on one leg? Trying to find something.
Starting point is 00:07:57 I think Greg's right. I want the YouTube audience to appreciate how Greg bobbed his head back and forth in celebration at the Chrissy Hind thing. Thank you. I appreciate that. The Jacksonville Jaguar. Oh wow, the Jag. Pretender or contender? I would say contender because the division is probably the most winnable division in the NFL.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I would say contender as well. What the Kansas City want to play off game last year? Trevor Lawrence takes another step this year, an elite quarterback. Very tough conference. You'd rather be in the NFC if your Jacksonville or really any team. You'd rather be in the NFC, but I would say Jacksonville certainly a contender. They were one of the final eight teams last year. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Can you buy a wooden leg on Amazon? You know what, it's so put a fashionable shoe on the peg. You wouldn't, but it wouldn't be like a boot. It would be just a shoe, so you be like a dress shoe Not a lot of shoes for maybe a deck shoe And and by the way the last thing on earth I'm doing is making fun of people with Affirmities and and someone who needs a wooden leg, you know more power to them, right? I think people know that good the Washington commanders That was Dominic's team last year, football expert, right?
Starting point is 00:09:29 Pretender or content. You and Meena keep doing this thing and did and I have noticed it where you guys were big time commander people last year. Telling us they're gonna be so good. Yeah. And every time we question you about it, you kinda sprint away from it.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Meena did the same thing last week when she was on with us. Disowning the pick. Couple of commies cutting it up. Yeah, they're contenders. Not with that quarterback. You could not buy you a good lag on Amazon. Who is the quarterback? I'm not going to take a quiz. No, they have a couple. Have they named a starter yet? Sam. Sam Howell. Is it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:04 They've already I've avoided him would you know Sam how he wanted legs I mean he was a North Carolina Tarheel wasn't not seeing any peg legs on Amazon you get by winning legs for furniture you can yes but nothing on Amazon a bit pricey milley find a cheaper stew commies pretender contender uh pretender. NFC though. Yeah, pretend. Yeah, I would say pretender as well. Yeah. Unless Sam Hall proves himself. He won't. No, he's gonna wouldn't arm it. The New Orleans Saints. Contender or pretender. Derek Carr. That's it. That's all we have. That's the information you have given us. Derek Carr. Is Michael Thomas still around? I think have. That's the information you've given us. Derek Carr.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Is Michael Thomas still around? I think so. Yeah, the ghost of Michael Thomas. He's signed first off, Michael Thomas of anyone in sports. Most looks like he's great at sex. There is zero chance that Michael Thomas is not good in the bedroom. Zero. Recycle. Yeah. Tender. Good team, good quarterback, bad conference, contender. Greg, I say pre-tender.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Oh, really? To the left. The Aaron Rogers list, Green Bay Packers. Wow. Jordan Love, can he answer the call or the bell? What do we answer? He's both of them, right? Both of them.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Pretender or contender? I say contender. Yeah. The energy is begging for a team to step up and and be special and I think it's a love time So all of your analysis is just what conference they're in no But in this case it is what you said the saying who were in the same conference the pretender he said that right Christopher's done pleasant. Well, yeah, wouldn't years You said that right Christopher's done pleasant right good wooden ears
Starting point is 00:12:11 Don't don't swing the coffee there. That is not Los Angeles Rams pretender contender pretender Pretender Take it back now y'all Cooper Cup can only carry us so far Don't lebertard. I don't think in 2021 I can get away with my Michael Irvin radio show and press Stougat's! PAP still doing this hockey ship thing. For me and Dominique are in, Greg is, well, Greg is, quote, hitting the head. Ah, Stugat's in the back row. I looked up, the term originated on sailing ships, where the toilets were at the head of the boat.
Starting point is 00:13:23 A lot of, we've been talking about jibs today in between segments, talking about lots of nautical things. I got a great jib. If you were on a boat, like back in the day, wouldn't you just go off the side? Why would you want to collect that human? I mean, I think it's probably tough to... Well, a lot of wind. Pablo, let's not let them do this to us. Oh, he's doing it again. I didn't even realize that we're not we're not really contenders pretenders was an abomination
Starting point is 00:13:55 No Are we playing It's kind of like SNES music this music sounds like someone should be doing an infield outfield drill in a 90s movie. It feels like I just sat down inside of an arcade driving game at a movie theater. The Chicago Bears! Pretender or contender? Uh, they're definitely not going to win a championship. So contender, pretender, you gotta give them, uh, like I don't know what the bar is like is it make the playoffs
Starting point is 00:14:26 Contender or pretender is the game or the easy game Justin field is like getting MVP favorites. Yeah, sort of bets Bryner lacquer still is bald on billboards throughout Chicago not playing the great game great So they got him DJ more which like all quarterbacks that have that big leap in the early in their career It seems that the catalyst for that is new offensive coordinators sometimes, but most importantly a true number one DJ Moore a turtle who's fantastic football player the question with that is how much of a true number one Can he actually be in the system with the good coach? You got to teach him how to play the game Contender Justin Justin Fields, big league. Bad conference.
Starting point is 00:15:09 This is not the territory that I want to be fighting on, Dominique. I mean, my world. We have smart stuff to do. We've got smart stuff to do. We're being learned into. All right, go ahead. Chris is freaking.
Starting point is 00:15:19 I was listening to their contender for Tinder segment, and I was like, it would be nice to actually tell the people something other than contender for tender. Like, tell my head Pablo smart stuff. Go. It's God real. Go. Oh, I do think, however, the bills, their roster, pretty old.
Starting point is 00:15:40 This might be their best chance to win a championship. And the Josh Allen Josh Allen's like legacy. I know it's early to talk legacy talk, but I think say it. Oh, we're doing a Compete with two guys with legacy talk. I think Josh Allen So Josh Allen has already jumped over that hurdle of like is he gonna be a great quarterback? He's proven does hurdle all of us who thought yay does her all of us who thought he was gonna be unsuccessful And I was one of those people are absolutely wrong. He's more than successful. He's a centerpiece of a team.
Starting point is 00:16:08 He's wondered a few quarterbacks that I think kind of makes you contender just cause he shows up, but their roster is constructed in such a way that- Can you say but? Woo! Their roster is constructed in a way that, if they don't win this year,
Starting point is 00:16:21 it's gonna be a few years I think before they rebuild their roster. And this all matters, cause the way that we remember quarterbacks is largely based on how many championships they want which is not necessarily fair to quarterback but it's the way that we do it and Josh Allen could be setting himself up. Hell am I to play Stugat in a situation? It's a scene for Tender. So to pretend it.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Stugat, tell him how to play, teach him how to play. Pretender, tough, tough tough tough division even tougher conference Josh Allen probably the most overrated quarterback in the NFL You know, I was watching the series quarterback on Netflix and they went to Patrick Mahomes Who was one of the three quarterbacks and he said I don't sweat anyone, but I sweat Joe Barrow He didn't say Josh Allen. He only said Joe Barrow, pretender. Ah! Shut the music off.
Starting point is 00:17:09 I can't do this. Dominique was speaking words in tune with the music, and I was very afraid. Oh, why? Because we're not playing our game, Dominique. Yeah. We're not playing our game. You're playing my game. I wanted to talk about the Buffalo Bills in a smart way.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Okay. Because we're talking about a team that had the biggest story in the entire NFL. And that biggest story, the Mar-Hamlin, I don't want people's eyes to glaze over when they hear that name, because I think there's actually like interesting stuff in terms of what you do with the guy who is alive and back,
Starting point is 00:17:43 and I presume wants to play football while everybody else has to be, I don't know, I think of almost like Vladimir Putin playing hockey. You know, you're gonna defend this guy? What are you gonna do with him? Let him score, let him do whatever you want. So, Demar has returned to practice recently. I think it was yesterday,
Starting point is 00:18:00 or the day before it was his first day in full padded practice. Reportedly, he got an interception in that practice. Hopefully it was not a Vladimir Putin style interception where they just threw a ballalley ball. But it's tough, man. Like I'm of the opinion that he should not play football, but he's been cleared by a number of cardiologists.
Starting point is 00:18:21 There's no health risk. They pointed out that the issue with his heart was a random thing. It had nothing to do with him. So he's's no health risks. They pointed out that the issue with his heart was a random thing. It had nothing to do with him. So he's at no further risk. There's no reason why he can't continue to play. But I just personally, I'm gonna have a hard time watching that man go back on the field.
Starting point is 00:18:37 And if that's what he wants to do, I root for him. He even was like honest about how he's nervous about it. He has fears. But I think the quote that he had was to bring religion back into the conversation is, my faith is stronger than my fear, which like, again, to the power of religion tied all in. I am somebody whose faith is weaker than his fear.
Starting point is 00:18:59 In fact, that's why a faith is because I'm afraid. So one thing that I've never understood, so about like religious people is people who are like true believers, how do you ever feel fear, how do you ever feel concerned, how do you ever truly worry? At Billy was joking. Can I tell you my theory about ghosts?
Starting point is 00:19:24 Yeah. Because ghosts connect back to actually religion to me. Can I tell you my theory about ghosts? Yeah. Because ghosts connect back to actually religion to me. I would love to see a ghost. Jesus. You're therapist because if I saw a ghost, Dominique, if I saw a ghost, okay, and I had conviction that this was a phantasm, do you know what my brain would then do? It would unlock itself and allow me to fully have faith stronger than fear.
Starting point is 00:19:49 Yeah. I would then be like, oh, wait a minute. Then all things are possible. God himself, man in the sky, the idea that there's purpose and mission, this ghost has convinced me to believe in the supernatural, which my brain prevents me from doing. The metaphor for this show and this conversation is kind of perfect because there is like a burden that comes with like the analytical mind
Starting point is 00:20:11 that Stu gots in Greg Cody are free of. And it also like the same way that it's talking about religion. Where if you read the book, the Quran, the Bible, whatever book, and you fully commit to it and believe in it, that is a much simpler, happier, easier life.
Starting point is 00:20:31 God, contender. Oh, absolute contender. Such a contender. It is easier that way. And harder for, yes, these brains that we feel obliged to. Because like the idea that you would be stressing because there's lots of turmoil in the world, always, and things pop up, like there's clues happening
Starting point is 00:20:54 in African nations, there's like a mudslide every day that we just don't give a shit about. There are presidents being indicted. There's lots of things, there's supreme courts and making changes to law that we thought was settled on women's rights. Like, these are all things that are happening that could stress you out.
Starting point is 00:21:13 When I was on vacation, they give you like a New York Times digest and I read it every morning on the vacation and it was so stressful. But you know what will be nice? Just to be like, you know what? God's got it. That will be nice. Just to be like, you know what? God's got it. That will be nice. Like I wanted, I could say that,
Starting point is 00:21:28 but I don't sincerely believe it. And like you're on plane and there's turbulence. It'll be nice. That's it. Oh, God's got it. And to have the conviction that even if this goes down, I don't care. God's got it.
Starting point is 00:21:43 That's gonna be really nice. The Cleveland Brown. This is actually church music now. The Lord. You don't dare pretend, you don't have to worry. You won't be stressed. You hold on to your faith and the creator. This is so I go to Catholic church now,
Starting point is 00:22:04 I grew up going to... Yeah, we don't have this. We do Catholic church now, I grew up going to... Yeah, we don't have this. We do not have this. I grew up going to Baptist church where this was the experience, it was fun. Yeah, you don't pop your head in Catholic church. And now I go to Catholic Mass with my wife, and it's like...
Starting point is 00:22:17 I'm very impressed that you do that. I'm Nelvijomiju. It's Latin. It's Latin. That wasn't what I was speaking. The ones that are always talking like this. Yeah, that's Latin. Yeah, like that style.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Dead language. Latin pretender. Lans, huge pretender. Is it dead if people are still using it? People aren't using it. Well, you just said they do it every Sunday at church. Hmm, that's not using it. It's a good point by Billy.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Dead language. Well, I mean, maybe it's not dead, but it's definitely a pretender language. It's a danger. English? Pretender language. Really? It's alive, but it's a pretender language. English is like, you learn other languages.
Starting point is 00:22:59 English is so like, unnecessarily complicated and confusing in a way that other languages are like wood and wood. Yeah, like what are we doing? Why do we have so many spellings for words that sound the same? But you need to speak it to fly a plane. English? Yeah. Need to speak English to fly a plane?
Starting point is 00:23:17 Yeah, pretty sure. English is like the universal language of flight. Are you telling me that if I go to like Azerbaijan, there's going to be a pilot who sounds exactly like a We got some Well, I mean maybe not to the cabin, but I think that if you're speaking to like control towers. It's all in English. I'll look that up Pablo that impression was so good because I think the most important part of a limited fake pilot is the In between sentences the Cleveland Browns. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Absolute contender. Really? Ah. Tough division. Real serious conference is going to be really hard. Get that? They have a great running game, outstanding offensive line, talent on defense, a real game breaker
Starting point is 00:24:01 at the past Russia situation. The only thing that's standing between the Cleveland Browns and Championship is Ken Dishon Watson, return the form. I had a question about Dishon Watson. On my podcast yesterday, we talked about this and I don't know what the right answer is yet. Good job, Chris. Yeah, cut the music right there.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Yeah, make sure the bass slide didn't come in before the... Put it in the conversation. So, honestly, music right there. Yeah, make sure the bass slide didn't come in before the shot. Put it in the conversation. So, honestly, and I would like to put this on the table for the next shift that comes in. I need you to ask to determine the answer to this. Is how do we talk about the Shawn Watts? Because I felt like last year, his first year back, it was appropriate to remind everybody of the sexual misconduct. Every time, so when I was on get up or first day, you have to say dozens upon dozens of
Starting point is 00:24:48 losses. Every time I would talk about him, even if it was on field stuff, like I felt an obligation to point out that he was returning from a suspension and not just any suspension, a suspension for sexual misconduct. Yes. And that's all we can do in this job. So yeah, I guess I'm wondering going forward is when do we stop doing that? Because we do stop doing it for everyone else.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Yeah, Ben Rompisberger, we stop. I mean, Tari Kill, and with him, it's particularly challenging because he hasn't, he hasn't like been at all, confright. They'll figure it out. Don Lebertard. I don't think in 2021 I can get away with my Michael Irvin radio show and press.
Starting point is 00:25:29 No, probably not. Stulgats! PAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAP I think you can do it. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. Kim. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha because I think we should concede. Yep, so do I. It's a shame that you're conceding because that doesn't give me a chance to get to my top five ghosts. Speak for yourself. We are not conceding. We are winning. What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:26:12 I refuse. I refuse. I'm over here. We're having a great show. It's funny. It's fun. It's smart. They like this show has been bleeping fantastic
Starting point is 00:26:23 and you got a little bit of pushback and then you crumbled like a cheap shacket. Ooh, what about this? We have a new game. Folded like a cheap suit, huh? Now it's this room versus that room. Oh! Oh!
Starting point is 00:26:36 Oh! I'm trying to get out of the business of competing with the people I work with. It's a true. And you want to go. Chris is dancing. Like, you know, Dominic needs help. He needs help in the consent,
Starting point is 00:26:50 concession speech category. You know, his partner concedes, and then I didn't hear a concession from Dominic. I think he obviously. One hop this time. Recount. Number five. The Galloping Ghost. count number five the galloping ghost number four Casper the ghost friendly
Starting point is 00:27:11 ghost friendly ghost my family number three the Holy Ghost say man good one number two the ghost and Bill Simmons attic. Tired of those ghosts. And number one, Patrick Swayze. Patery had never been more erotic than Swayze. Morning, Wood. Good energy in there, fellas. I love it. I'm glad that you guys are bringing it.
Starting point is 00:27:44 This is fun. Outstanding it. I'm glad that you guys are bringing it. This is fun. Outstanding energy. Good information too. I really like the Friendly that's a good addition That came in this room. Yep Was cat was Patrick's ways he dead in that movie was that like a spoiler alert like the sixth sense right Was like the one where the person's a ghost the whole time was he dead and like that pottery thing was a ghost. Was there a sixth sense reveal at the end of the movie Ghost starring Patrick? Yeah, I haven't seen it, so I'm just kind of curious.
Starting point is 00:28:12 No, it was killed in a movie. Oh, yes. My only experience with the movie Ghost comes from Vin Diesel's The Pacifier, which is a great children's movie with Vin Diesel where they have a ghost protocol and ultimately they stick a DVD into a DVD player and it plays the movie ghost and that's the big joke that clearly was just made for parents and not the youths like us. Younger and smarter.
Starting point is 00:28:38 Greg has a list written down of his own. Thanks for nothing. I mean. With bad bot posture, he's been looking up stuff the entire break. No one can look into a little tiny tablet with bad posture better than Greg Cody. Why do you like the tablet with the keyboard attachment? Why don't you just get a laptop? And this is how he does his columns too.
Starting point is 00:28:56 It's not like this is his mobile unit. This is how, like, right how you see him? That's how he works every day. So me, I'm hunting. Worked for quasi. The hunter neck. The hunter. Yeah. I got my top five Watson's if he works every day. So me, I'm hunching. Worked for quasi. Hunching it. The hunchback. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:07 I got my top five watsons if you want. Ha ha ha ha ha. Watsons. Oh, right. You're gonna talk to Sean Watson I forgot. Right. And what you left for us, I mean. And conspicuously absent from my top five watsons.
Starting point is 00:29:20 The Sean Watson. All right. Number five. Number five. Watson Island Number four Baba Watson You know he's a live guy It you know he still makes my you know what else he is a master's champion I'm just saying my dad wrote me a column. Yeah, like just anyone with live and now all of a sudden
Starting point is 00:29:42 Bubba's one of his very pretty he's got top three. He's good. He just hard to find Watson's out there. Number three. Former Houston Astro Bob Watson. Side note, when should I be drafting Christian Watson? Hmm. Sleeper. Number two. Actress Emma Watson. Actress Emma Watson and number one Sherlock Holmes devoted friend Dr. Watson Thank you take a swag that was good thank you right foot two stomps. What about Pookie Watson? Yeah, what's Pookie? Oh, yeah, it's his list. It's a spot for like your own list. Certain listeners are going into an hour.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Okay. Top five owls. Lane Kiffin. Well, he used to be. That would be a good list. Top five owls. Show them we're gonna be number one. You conceded to this. You conceded to this, Pablo. I've got never been more angry and disappointed at someone. We were winning. We had to lead. You just conceded to go in there and do owl lists. Here's the problem. And this is why Pablo conceded.
Starting point is 00:31:00 You just couldn't match wooden leg. You just couldn't come up with anything that resonated nationally like wooden legs went back to the God well One too many times That well how about the wise potato chip fell Oh, that's a good one. That's a good one I've not seen wise in certain supermarkets But I think that it's like
Starting point is 00:31:21 Demographically based because I will see them in that same chain in another location, but not in certain locations, which makes me wonder what's up. I love wise potato chips because they're extra salty. More economical than ladies as well. Yeah, correct. Top five owls. Number five, owl-k-line.
Starting point is 00:31:39 I like it. That's all I have right now. I'll get back to you in the before. Okay, Thanks. This is your team, Pablo. It's your team. You can see it. Albert Pujos.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Pujos. Jim Alvman's. Was that for Jim Edmunds? Albert Bell. Back to you guys. That was four. Greg, you and I had a really good conversation before the show. Well, back to you guys. That was four. Greg, you and I had a really good conversation before the show about the Women's National
Starting point is 00:32:12 Team. I know you are a big soccer guy. You watched all of those games and I sure if you watched them at the hour that they were playing. I did. Yeah, so what's your final take away? You didn't get your thoughts yesterday. I had lots of thoughts.
Starting point is 00:32:23 I'd love to hear what you guys say. You know, I hate to say it. The US women's national team, to me, choked in losing to Sweden. It doesn't take away from the great dynasty they had or all they did off the field, you know, for equal pay, for LGBTQ rights and all that stuff. Kudos to them. But in that game, they outplayed Sweden,
Starting point is 00:32:47 in regulation, and in extra time, they had the six or seven best gold chances in the game, put none of them in the net, and then in penalty kicks, this is unheard of. I said on my podcast, the Greg Cody show, that when you miss two penalty kicks to literally blow it and lose and get out sit in the world cup, that's like, it's inconceivable. That's a three foot pot. You're missing free throws. It's crazy the way they lost that game. It's kudos to them.
Starting point is 00:33:21 Kudos to them in the long range, but in the short term, the way they lost is like losing a national spelling by misspelling the word cat. They said that joke. It was so many times. It's not really a joke. It's a metaphor, and I mean it. So it's what makes the penalty kick.
Starting point is 00:33:40 So it's what makes it the most tricky thing in sports because it's so easy, or at least it looks so easy, that when you miss, you get, it's what makes it the most tricky thing in sports because it's so easy, or at least it looks so easy that when you miss, you get those types of reactions. Not just from the players, but from fans as well, because it seems so easy. I mean, I'm the guy sitting here, and I said this years ago, if you put me in front of a professional goalie, give me five pks, I would score like three or four times. But this is the difference between Dwight Howard and B.A. player sinking every free throw in practice and then going out there in a game and
Starting point is 00:34:10 Right to Greg's point choking Like the the idea that they choked Cowsign I'm willing to be I'm I'm happy to Even laugh at how this game ended for them It was abysmal in the ways that Greg alluded to. But the idea that it was easy to win is where I get off that train. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:34:31 And the second Miss penalty kick was by Sophia Smith, their rising star. She's 22 in her first world cup. You can forgive her the massive nerves. She must enter the game, right? No, she had to. Rapino, it's just enter the game. But Rapino, the veteran of all veterans, for her to choke like that in that situation, she could have been the hero. They win on her penalty
Starting point is 00:34:54 kick, right? And for her to miss it, but they would have won in the next penalty kick as well. But that's so, but all the focus is on Rapino because she's the veteran. She's one of the greatest soccer players of all time. Because she kind of smiled afterwards. Yeah, she kind of smiled. I mean, that part is just absurd. How do people not understand her reaction? How dare her have perspective?
Starting point is 00:35:13 How none of you smiled grimly upon realizing that you messed up something royally in your life. Like that. Like everything's smiling right now. Yeah, I know, but everything that I've accomplished and the last thing memory I'm going to leave on this soccer pitch is me missing a penalty kick. That's evil as she pointed out. It's an evil kind of comedy and of course you would have that reaction and I don't blame her.
Starting point is 00:35:34 It's a cruel way to lose and everybody associated with soccer hates when a game goes in the penalty kicks because it's a crap. It's not the game. Exactly, it's not the sport. Totally. But the greatest team in history, case because it's a crap. It's not the game. Exactly. It's not the sport. Totally. But the greatest team in history, a team going for a third world cup, which no men or
Starting point is 00:35:51 women have ever done, to lose like that, it was just diabolically shameful. But do we have that's aggressive? But don't worry. Diabolically shameful. He gives them credit for Equal rights and all that stuff kudos. Yeah kudos to them. Well Dominic You can say they choked in that moment, but respect the body of work. It can be both things Yeah, so not if you call it diabolically shame Little too lost was the loss was right and I don't backtrack on that. The way they put it on this, not backtracking.
Starting point is 00:36:28 The way they lost was a choke job. It doesn't mean. I mean different ways can do it. It doesn't mean that they don't deserve great credit for all they've meant to the sport. That's directed that sport. This is why this story was a perfect story. It was something that gave everybody on every side of every
Starting point is 00:36:45 issue something to bite into. If you wanted to praise them for being the winningest team in the history of the sport you could. If you wanted to praise them for being chokers you could. If you wanted to attack them for making this about- Not praising them by the way. If you're calling them to. Yeah, not praising them. Criticize them. If you wanted to raise them for being the victors of an equal rights battle, you could. And if you wanted to make it about how they made themselves, the equal rights champions ahead of the sport
Starting point is 00:37:17 that they dominated better than every other team that ever existed, you could do that too. So this way it was an inkblot test. You saw this thing happen, what did you want to take away from it? And a lot of people took diabolical shame. Rochak. A Rochak. And a lot of people took, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:33 This is also a standard choke shop. Slide to the left. They, I mean, I feel like ridiculous that we have to talk about the people who are like being critical of them because I don't hear those people and those people are not genuine like it's just it feels like I'm in. I mean, no, I mean criticizing them but talking about smiling and all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:37:55 Yeah, that's ridiculous. That's just like, I don't know, it feels like it's phony. I don't know, women should stop smiling in public. Say something, anything, don't end on that. uh... you know smiling in public say something anything don't end on that
