This is the Don Leventor Show with the Stugats Podcast. So that was um interesting right because you could hear those seeds being planted of what ultimately would become
Starting point is 00:01:27 the ethos of Trump's run to the presidency, which is, yeah, who cares if what I'm saying isn't true as long as the people agree with me. Bertherism, who cares? There are plenty of people who were happy I'm asking the question. And that basically became what Trump's run to the presidency would ultimately become. And it's pretty wild to hear the seeds of that be planted on the Dan LeBoudin show with Stu Gatz.
Starting point is 00:01:58 I'm laughing so I don't cry. That was 2013 through the local hour in the Big Su suey what you're going to hear now is a longer full session of an interview from September of 2014 so september 18th 2014 if you want to look up what the nfl controversies were around that time you pause this right now and go try to look that up. Why he didn't like shaking hands because I kid you not from Mr.
Starting point is 00:02:48 COVID vaccines don't need to exist. He didn't want to catch a cold. Also playing golf with Michael Jordan, the quote terrific guy, Bill Clinton. Starting point is 00:05:14 which is now a legit nationwide 5G network. So I must take a break from the jokes here for a second and put on my serious voice, because I would never ever joke about a 5G network that has invested billions building 5G towers across the country. Not even once. Not even if Mr. Boost Mobile himself asked me to. There is nothing funny about it. Boost Mobile is now a legit nationwide 5G network and also provides coverage across 99% of America. Seriously. Visit BoostMobile.com or your nearest Boost Mobile store location to learn more.
Starting point is 00:05:53 The Boost Mobile network, together with our roaming partners, covers 99% of the US population. 5G speeds not available in all areas the joined now by a return visitor donald trump with us on the s p n radio last time we talked to him we thought he was going to buy the bills he did not buy the bills why did you not buy the bills well i love nfl i love football i put in a bid and i guess the nfl release it was a billion dollars which was a nice high price but somebody else paid a lot more money than that
Starting point is 00:06:27 you'll have to speak to them as to why and uh... i said i'll pass because you know billion dollars a lot of money and uh... uh... yeah i think it's uh... gonna be very interesting but after looking at everything i decided not to up my bid so let's see what happens it was very important to me that the bill stay in buffalo and now they will. So that was a big portion of why I even bid in the first place. Let's say Donald Trump was hypothetically the owner of
Starting point is 00:06:51 the bills. Everything going on in the NFL right now, you would be saying and doing what when it comes to Roger Goodell? Well, look, I like Roger. Roger's a person that I like a lot. He's a friend of mine and I think, and that's why I think probably the owners, even though, you know, we have a USFL question with me and like a lot is a friend of mine and i think and that's why i think probably the owners even though you know we have a u s f l question with me and uh... what a lot of people don't know about the u s f l is that i came in long after the league had opened and the league was failing and when i came in i made the week hot and i should get credit for that but of course that i took lauren taylor and i
Starting point is 00:07:20 told them back to the giants for a million dollars i would say they weren't thrilled with that and you know so lots of other things. But I would say Roger would have been very happy to have me. I would tell, say a couple of things. Getting back onto the field, I would say you've got to stop with the flags. It's horrible what's going on. Every play is a flag. And half of the times they're looking and they very, you know, you watch the announces.
Starting point is 00:07:42 But that's not the controversy that he's in the middle of right now. Like that he's got a bigger controversy on that and i know i'm just saying i think the game is very important and i think the flags and i also think that goes i mean people rate rate it's key and and dick but kids to these guys would be allowed to play football nowadays so it's a uh... it's i i think that's a real problem i think it's going to be a big problem all the flags and
Starting point is 00:08:03 the good tackles you know what used to be a great tackle today you get suspended from football. That's the problem. The other stuff is is certainly hurting them and potentially hurting their brand very badly. It's got to stop. Donald Trump with us here on ESPN radio. If you were the commissioner of the NFL, would Adrian Peterson, Greg Hardy, guys like that? Would they be playing football right now, Donald? Well, you have to look at individual cases. I mean, as an example, in the race case, you know, he he was knocked out, he was unconscious. And there was pretty bad stuff took place in the elevator. And then I hope that Roger never saw and I would certainly take his word for it. But you know, you have to hope that Roger never saw the interior of the elevator and
Starting point is 00:08:43 what took place because he said he did uh... but but that was not a very hard fine and he got a lot of think he actually admitted that himself any he apologized as far as uh... peterson is concerned great player and you know it depends on exactly what happened that's what you have to take a look at i've heard a lot of people saying today you have over the years i've known people that are good parents but the spankers they
Starting point is 00:09:06 spanked and you know seventy percent of people they say so poll were seventy percent i happen not to be a spanker uh... if evonka did something wrong i was never spanker but there are spankers you know there's a tremendous group of people and i don't mean beaters i mean spankers is a's a vast difference. And you'd have to look into Peterson case. You know, I met him, I was on a big television show, and he was on the same show,
Starting point is 00:09:31 and I met him about a month ago, and what a nice guy he was, he was great. And it's so sad to see, but he's a big star, and they're gonna have to see what happens. Here's the thing about Adrian Peterson. Famously, he has a death grip of a handshake. Famously, you refused to shake hands, correct? Well, I did shake his hand and I really don't refuse to shake hands. But of course,
Starting point is 00:09:52 everyone knows that I'm right because you catch colds, you catch flus, you catch all sorts of things by shaking hands. But if you're living in this society, and I happen to like to jack Japanese custom better, where you just sort, look at each other and you nod. But the fact is that I did shake his hand and you're right, he's got a strong hand grip and that's fine. But he was really a nice guy. And of course he said he grew up and his parents were a little bit rough with him,
Starting point is 00:10:16 et cetera, et cetera. So you have to really look at the circumstances and every one is different. No matter what happens, I mean, you're gonna see other of these things and every one is different no matter what happens i mean you can see other of these things and everyone is different now the adrian peterson one is going to be interesting because it really has to do with a lot of the mores of society so we'll see what happens with that donald trump with us on the sbn radio if
Starting point is 00:10:36 you own budweiser beyond anheuser-bush dot would you spend one point two billion dollars on the nfl well that's the one way that things could start to topple two ways ratings go down ratings start getting hit and that'll happen with the flags and and with that lack of tackles and every that will happen because i have so many friends of the sick of it they can't watch it anymore so ratings getting hit and the sponsors leaving those you do things that you have to worry about from the standpoint of the brand and the, you know, and keeping it going and making lots of money.
Starting point is 00:11:08 And you know, we'll have to see what happens. I think that the sponsors are starting to drop out, but they're not dropping out big league. But if you have big league sponsorship dropping out, then you've got a problem in the NFL. There's no question about it. Let's talk about some other things outside of sports here. Does Donald Trump have a tipping philosophy? How does Donald Trump tip?
Starting point is 00:11:31 I'm a big tipper. I believe in tip. They usually get very nice treatment and everything else. I tend to tip ridiculously because I don't want to read any stories that Donald Trump was cheap. And, you know, I read so much where somebody leaves a tip of 2% and 5% and, you know, et cetera much where somebody leaves that tip of two percent and five percent you know it's a church at you know i like helping people out i'm in a
Starting point is 00:11:49 position where i can do what i want to do and i'd like tipping big especially if i like the waiter or the waitress and i'd like to think that give us the coolest person you played golf with i played golf with so many i play golf with sort of they're all cool in the runway but I play with Michael Jordan he's a great guy gambling gambling gambling Trump not so much I mean hey and let me tell you Michael's a good golfer you know a lot of people say oh he's overrated he's over Michael can play what were the stakes trying he's a great chipper and
Starting point is 00:12:20 he's a great putter Trump stakes on the golf gambling I know Jordan George not playing out there for free i don't know what were the states have a little bit but you got to ask michael about that though i don't know if you want to call me conference and then we'll ask him a right now i don't think so you'll be happy when i say he was a great people one i know but i'm not as i do want to say we were partners and we want okay we were
Starting point is 00:12:44 partners and we want okay we were partners and we want well we played against we were playing well actually we had on a concern stand in the group and we had somebody else on your side well no no i think it was a company also said and when we realized how good she was but we immediately all fought over realize that good she was a little bit longer ever hey arnica arnica was seriously good and she is
Starting point is 00:13:08 seriously that you're terrific not going to give us the stakes of the bad now i don't want to do that i don't want to a better let me do it another way the highest stakes that donald trump has ever played for on the golf course well actually the highest stakes are united some of my best deals on the golf course and i've gotten to know people and i'm i bought trump tower on and you know if that that built it but i bought the site because of gulf because the people that i played golf with really like to be a lot
Starting point is 00:13:33 and i made the deal because of them i mean because of golf and i've made many great deals and these are billion dollar deals because of gulf so gulf and you know i tell the people at the watson school of finance which is considered the best business school i say you know you should teach golf at the school cuz i've made many great deals on the golf course one of the reasons i got turnberry was because of golf i was
Starting point is 00:13:56 playing something else and the folks that had term very for many years i've got to know me on the golf course and i was able to get turnberry in scotland which is one of the great places were the great iconic places in the world not just in the world of golf so i've made many great deals on the golf course abt big ones students do you see what trump just in the main courses so trump do you know
Starting point is 00:14:17 what you just did to me i had to get around you did how can you get it aware i had to do it and i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i answered it like a policy to talk about the most i ever played for i gave you an extra little spin i think that's that was more interesting but you know i don't know trump answer that question is that i i i flipped it around i like my answer better i think it's not the audience doesn't like that answer they want to have that baby they maybe they. No, I like to gamble a little bit, but I keep it down to a minimum. Number one, I've won a lot of club championships. I play well, but it's still
Starting point is 00:14:54 not my business. Lawrence Taylor, I've heard many stories. I know you play golf with LT, and I've heard many stories about Lawrence maybe cheating a little bit on the golf course, Donald. Can you confirm that for us? Well, I'll tell you what about large large is a funny guys got the worst grip i've ever seen but he can play and he's as good a chipper as you'll ever see and lauren's played jerry rice or to show that i have on that the golf channel where i introduced people that played as a celebrity and jerry played terrific but lauren's is chipping was
Starting point is 00:15:21 it yet to see the show at donald j. Trump's fabulous world of golf. Trump, I can't believe you. And I played, believe it or not, we had different people on the show. Oscar De La Hoya played something. Donald. But Jerry Rice and Lawrence Taylor played golf.
Starting point is 00:15:35 And I'm telling you, Lawrence put on a chipping display. And Lawrence is a very good guy. And you talk about a guy who likes to gamble. But Lawrence is a very good player. Donald, he asked you for a great LTts story on the golf course area turn that around to you know i could i could tell you that when he played jerry rice uh... he won it was very interesting and he made a statement at the end he said jerry is a
Starting point is 00:16:00 great golfer but i'm a great winner and i said boy that was a killer statement i was on television and you know they'll be playing that matter for many many years to come but did he cheat and i'll not just a reminder that by the way and here is a great good no i never saw a large sheet i played a lot of golf with laurence and i could tell you i still plenty of guys that you know very well that i know that you like crazy but and i don't want to give you a name one i know that'll be dan you think that one of name one of them no no no i could tell you plenty i won't do that
Starting point is 00:16:28 i don't have a rate of a beef you're not going to believe me with laurence laurence i've never seen laurence alright next question last question he beats for the president i don't think that everybody who are you i played i played with bill clinton a lot and he's a terrific guy cheater and he's actually a very underrated golfer he actually if he played white plays he likes to play but he actually hits the ball very nicely who are you beefing with these days give me a name who are you beefing with meaning fighting with yes yes wow nobody have many people I can't believe it I must be losing my edge I'm getting along
Starting point is 00:17:04 with too many people this is an exciting but not too many i mean the rosies of the world as far as i'm concerned that you can have her but not too many people i get along with a lot of people alright donald always good talking to thank you for putting up with our nonsense thank you guys it's a great job have a good time that i don't know about all of this
