Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. This is the Dunlabel Tarshall with the Stugat's Podcast. Hey, yeah, you remember me? Yeah, Notre Dame tailgate? Yeah, it was yeah, I was 2016 I was a foreign eight year, but it was it was cool to see you. Yeah. Yeah, no, that was me with with the natty light Yeah, I know I didn't I mean I didn't technically get to hoist you, but I lifted you to my lips that
Starting point is 00:00:40 Delicious delicious natty light It's been a while though. Here it has. How are you? How are you doing? No, I'm good. I'm alright. You know, you're gonna cut. That's good to hear.
Starting point is 00:00:53 It's great to see you again. You're with this show, huh? Yeah, I know. A big career move for me. I mean, I guess you've just been kind of doing the same old thing, right? Yeah, just slubbed around, Mike. I mean, that's how it's cool. Like, are you? Mike's numbering around, Mike. I mean, that sounds cool.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Like, are you... Mike's number two on my list. Fills number one. Oh, well, do you want to work with Phil Moore? I mean, I could try to put in a good word. Mm. Well, I mean, I'm sorry to hear that. Are you looking for any...
Starting point is 00:01:19 Well, top work is Mike's right here. Oh, okay. Well, if you're looking for a new gig, I can try to help you out. I don't know if metal arc's hiring right now, but we could probably use someone with your skills and talent around here. I hear Dan's just handing out money to anyone who wants to join right now. It's a party.
Starting point is 00:01:34 There's a mixer right somewhere. I don't know where it is. Well, good kitchen. You invited. That's a vibe. I guess it was good to see you. You know where to find me. I've got bad news for you, Cup.
Starting point is 00:01:43 I like this bit. So, yeah. You may have to keep doing that, always. Oh my god. Now, I'm bringing back, at the end of the segment, because Mike, Mike, Mike, I have questions and the group should have questions because he's got all the stories.
Starting point is 00:01:58 But Mike, just to be clear, for people who don't know, you're the guy. Like, it's a group of you, but you are the chief boss cup keeper. I'd probably do the most of it. Phil is my boss, but he does a lot more stuff in the office and coordinating paperwork, paperwork, not cup keeping. And he's a vice president. He's got other, he's got a responsibility in the cup, but I bet he shows up when they lift it. Oh, yeah.'s, oh yeah, he's always there. He'll be, I presented with him last year, but this year I will not be.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Craig's gonna be doing it who's a manager, but he doesn't really travel the cup. But him and Craig do the presentation, which we'll see when that's gonna be. I got to say, if I get given the choice of either being the guy at the ceremony, handing the cup to the champs or being the guy that travels with the cup I'd rather be the guy on the road traveling with the cup man That's boring being in arena take me out on the road It's take me to St. Petersburg, Russia take me to Prague take me all over the world and watch the crazy thing that people do with this cup Am I right? Oh, yeah, I mean that's the great thing about this job
Starting point is 00:03:02 Seeing the world in all the different places we've been in, you know, those places. I've been a Russia, not St. Petersburg, but I've been all over Russia mostly in Siberia. A lot more so the Siberia really. Oh yeah, like Magnata, Gore, Skint Omsk, and Oh wow. Way out in the far Eastern part, Western part of Russia, like right near the main Mongolia border. And the best part is during the summertime, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, no too bad it's not it's it's not too bad in Siberia in the middle of July. I'm staying at a hotel I actually get a better room than Mike. I get a I get a sweet. I go piss Mike. You need a union. What would you say is the strangest place you have found
Starting point is 00:03:42 yourself in? Oh that that's easy, Afghanistan. No way. Yeah, we brought it over for the troops. We went over there, we went there in 07, 8, and 10. And the first time we went over there is a kind of an interesting story. One of the generals asked me if I take the cup to a fall before it operating based, and I said,
Starting point is 00:03:58 well, the league doesn't want me leaving Canada, however, let me ask you this. Yeah, I'm not doing that. Are you coming with me? Because, absolutely. So we get up in this big US Shunak helicopter with the US Marines. And that's when I realized I was in a war zone.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Like, guns pointed. I'm like, holy cow. And anyways, we get to the fog and the place goes nuts that we're there. They were so happy to see us. We fly back to Kandahar and I'm getting ready for a shower and the air raid siren goes off. And I'm like, oh, it doesn't sound too good.
Starting point is 00:04:22 So, I'm looking around for some direction. There's nobody around. Five minutes ago, there's people everywhere. So, I'm like, all right, I have sound too good. So I'm looking around for some direction. There's nobody around. Five minutes ago, there's people everywhere. So I'm like, all right, I have a towel around me. I'm sitting on the cup case, kind of looking at a magazine. I hear the fighter jets taking off. It stops after 15 minutes.
Starting point is 00:04:33 I grab my shower. As I'm coming out of the shower, as the guys were like, Mike, where were you doing the missile attack? I'm like, what? We were under attack, or a missile's flying in the base, what were you doing? Oh, I sit on the stand on the cup case, sitting there, just keeping an eye on you, hanging out. They're like, holy crap, you're dedicated to your job. So to be under attack in the middle, what were you doing? Oh, I sit on the Stanley Cup case, and I'm just keeping on hanging out.
Starting point is 00:04:45 They're like, holy crap, you're dedicated to your job. So to be under attack in the middle of a war zone, that was pretty wild. Now I didn't see anything or any missiles, but apparently these Russian old scud missiles that the Taliban have pointed at the base, trying to hit strategic target, most of them hit the road.
Starting point is 00:04:58 But yeah, that was an experience for sure. Yeah, it was scary as shit. I was actually too stupid to be scared. I didn't know what the hell was going on So it's probably good that I missed the whole safety briefing. I mean what times that mixer tonight Tim Kamikawa gonna be there I am so sorry I am so
Starting point is 00:05:18 What are that missing? No, no, it's a Gerrit Stoll I'm sorry Any good Ger Jared Stoll. I am so... And he good Jared Stoll stories. Yeah, I got a few. He had an up and Saskatchewan where he's from. I took a golfing and then he had a party of about four or five hundred people as now wife but Aaron Andrews was there too.
Starting point is 00:05:39 And maybe it was a lot of fun. Jared's a great guy and I also remember too when he had it over at his house in LA. And yeah, just like in everybody from Jerry Brookheimer, Sharon Stone, a whole bunch of other different celebrities were there. Your hair looks like Jerry Brookheimer's hair. Yeah. Oh, she had his bank account. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:02 You don't have a split end, so. Mike, I imagine you run into a lot of people, you just named Jerry Buckhammer and Sharon Stone. I can't believe we didn't hit the sounder for that. But have you ever been star struck, I guess, by someone you mean? I know you mean a lot of people, is everyone on the list? Yeah, you know what?
Starting point is 00:06:18 I've met some of the biggest stars, Holly Wood, to TV stars, other athletes, but there's still in presidency in the United States. There's still, and Presidency United States, I mean, there's still one person I still get, it's Wayne Gretzky. That's my idol growing up. I mean, I see him all the time. I just saw him the other day.
Starting point is 00:06:34 He's the nicest man, but Wayne Gretzky is the one that still kinda puts a little buckle on my knee and like I can't believe him around him because he was my idol growing up. Still kinda is to this day, to be honest with you and you too He's the one guy that I still get a little awestruck of It's one of those things man. It's the he's the most undisputed Goat of the sports right like there's no other sport where it's like there is no argument
Starting point is 00:06:57 There is no discussion. It's what I mean Yeah, I think we wouldn't be here in Florida and in Las Vegas if it wasn't for wind grits He come into the LA Kings and making hockey in the South and making hockey kind of putting it on the be here in South Florida and in Las Vegas if it wasn't for Wayne Gretz, he'd come into the LA Kings and making hockey in the South and making hockey, kind of putting it on the map here in the United States. So what he did on the ice was incredible, what he did off the ice and his impact in the game is even bigger and I mean,
Starting point is 00:07:17 you can't say enough good things about the great one, that's for sure. Hey, man. Has there been any confusion with your job now that the popularity of the Stanley Cups has you served the popularity of the Stanley Cup, the reusable stainless steel cups with the straws that are taking the internet by store. I've seen them around for sure, but this is still as a rock star.
Starting point is 00:07:37 But do you have to explain to your family like no, it's not the state, I can't get you a Stanley Cup, I am the keeper of the Stanley Cup. I explain that to them, I'm not getting the multiple. I'm not getting any of those cups. I have no connection there. They retire. I can show him this anytime they want though. They retire tears.
Starting point is 00:07:53 So whose name is on that cup most prominently? Well, I mean, there's a lot. I mean, Jean Belebel. His name has been on here 17 times. He won 10 as a player and seven as management. And then the player that's got the most Stanley cups is honorary reshard. He's won the Stanley Cup 11 times.
Starting point is 00:08:11 I mean, the Montreal canadians have won the Cup 24 times followed by the Toronto Maple Leafs 13 and the Detroit Red Wings 11. So what happens to, I know we're on radio, but there's five major bands. This top ring here on the cup, before it curls in. It's gonna come off in eight years and go into the Hakello Famicrono
Starting point is 00:08:29 and then move the rings out and put a new ring on the bottom. It's every 13 years that we remove a ring and add a ring. We've got five teams on the bottom. This year's winner will be on the cup for 60 years. Can I say something real fast? To these two piped squeets in the back row. I bleep you guys. That's it, back to you Mike. Boys lot a lot deeper there. I don't know
Starting point is 00:08:47 Be it be an empty deep in LA Well, it's the the boat parade like in In Tampa where you worried because I'm sure you'd saw that Grunk was throwing the the Vinselm party from Both Brady actually yeah, so like there was no they were they were throwing the Their trophy from boat to boat. Was there like an instruction given? Let's not do that with Lord Stangin'.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Wow, yeah, but you know, the, you know, the teams don't own the Stanley Cup. You know, the Buccaneers, they won at the own that trophy. I mean, I just ashamed that, you know, God forbid if that thing didn't make it, it was gonna go down to the bottom of the bay there. Yeah, this is a lot heavier and a lot bigger and a lot more valuable too.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Has there ever been a time where it's been lost? Not really, I mean, the odd flight, but we know where it is, we always know where it is, it doesn't make a flight, but as far as lost, lost, no. You put an air tag on it? We've got some secrets. Whoa! That's a sentence right there.
Starting point is 00:09:41 We've got some secrets. Oh my God. It's so cool I can't believe that we are in the presence of this trophy This sacred trophy if you had to guess Mike if you had to put a number on it The number of people who haven't earned the right to hoist this trophy that have actually hoisted this trophy. Given that I'm sure that when you're not watching or keeping the cup, the other guys have records of where they failed to do what their job is
Starting point is 00:10:12 because you treat this job seriously, and it's an oath you keep to make sure that it doesn't get hoisted by people who don't deserve it. Yeah, I mean, that's a great question. I don't know if I have the right number for you, because that first of all, the trophy's 131 years old. I've only been with it for it for 23 24 years now actually and so and it has it I've seen it the odd time happen like you know you're you're not duct taped to this thing so in my 24 years maybe 50 70 I honestly don't know. But you yell at those people. Oh, I tune them good.
Starting point is 00:10:45 You tune them. Yeah, I tune them. I got to hold your hands. Yeah, you're getting there. You're getting there. It makes me space, man. My so cool, man, the way he talks is so cool. I want to steal some of your lingo, man.
Starting point is 00:10:56 I tune them, but it is also your love and respect of hockey that comes with treating this sacredly. Like, it is a part of the fabric who you are. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, look, people always ask, you know, you've got the greatest job in the world. I think the greatest job in the world is playing for it. That didn't quite work out for me,
Starting point is 00:11:13 not even close to be honest. Second best thing is look at, and I love this game, I love the cup, and I respect both the league and the game and the cup. And I wanna make sure both are treated properly and that this thing has the respect and the deserves. It is the coolest trophy for sure. Your hair is so cool.
Starting point is 00:11:29 It's like coral from succession hair. I love you, man. Mike, thank you for being in with us. Wait, Dan, one more thing. When we win, the Panthers win, because we, because I'm a big Panthers guy, can we take it to the carreta and kind of like do some stuff like turn it in my golf.
Starting point is 00:11:43 That's how we gotta work. Can we do that? Can we go to the carreta? Well, you're not rubbing the cup like that, but yeah. Well, no, we'd have to. Actually, we have like casuela that we hit with like a... So no one checks it. Yeah, you're not scraping some metal thing there.
Starting point is 00:11:53 That's not happening. That's not happening. I'll see. No, it's not happening. Oh, maybe. No, it's the boy's the boy. Maybe it's the boy's the boy. Things happen on the carreta.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I don't know. My carreta, have you ever been to the carreta? Things happen. No, you better go. Yeah, you know, if I can get, have you ever been to like, arreta? Things happen. No, you better go. Yeah, you know, I, I, I can get out of Siberia, or a reshabia, or a, has anyone ever had kaffasito out of that cup? I don't even know what kaffasito is.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Oh, yeah, thank you so much. I worked with it. Oh, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, now because think it's crack he's got this amazing cup and we're going to give him the tiniest cup in the world and it's going to blow through his ears and it's going to make him feel better than this stinky little cup that he carries around. I will be at the car ride tomorrow. I got this seat with Mike Bolt in the other room right now. Yeah. Hello, someone listen to me. I need help.
She can continue to compete. Wow, wow, wow. This is the Don Levatar Show with the Stukats. I'm going to have a hard time explaining what has just happened to this room, I guess, of sports lovers across from where they'll play Game 4 of the Finals and where last night, Game four of the finals and where last night game three of the finals was decided because the Denver Nuggets have a cement mixer advantage. They have a garbage truck advantage where rough advantage. They have a monster MVP who's going to be very hard to stop, especially when their two chief players are going seven of 21s out there when he's not going to go seven, 21 ever.
Starting point is 00:14:10 He's never going to have a 14 point game. He's never going to throw up a stinker. It's all going to be giant numbers because he's controlling the entire game. It's only the third time I've watched him and I think he's the greatest player I've ever seen. And it's a reasonable thing to arrive at. I know last night. And it's a reasonable thing to arrive at. I know last night. And I saw Jordan.
Starting point is 00:14:26 Well, last night on the broadcast, they were trying to find the words. They were trying to find the words for what Yokech is and they're like, he would be a star in any era. Yes, if he's a star in this era, he would dominate any era. If this, if this era makes him the most versatile thing
Starting point is 00:14:43 we've ever seen, then that is happening across the street, but the cup arrived here and just jostled the room, what just happened in here, people coming from all over across the street throughout the hotel here to just be near the sparkly, sparkly thing. And it was so awe inspiring that I think even Jeremy fell into its swoon. Jeremy, who's like, what is that? It's just an old silver thing. My grandma Wella has one of those in the backyard. She cooks out of it. She boils water in it. You get me, Dan.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Kasuela has been also in the house for 90 years. Also for a pass down from Graham wrong and longer than the and mom was reverent to about no one hoisting that. I will say being in front of it actually in person the reverence around it and watching everyone in the room freak out sort of it gave me butterflies my heart fluttered a little bit it really did Jeremy. That was a copy. That's why hockey will never catch on in this town. Okay, we can't take it to La Garreta. We can't hit it with something.
Starting point is 00:15:49 We can't, no, we can't. Because if you take it to La Garreta, we gotta, we gotta grade it. I need to take a picture of the plan against Cup with that right. So that's why hockey's dead in this town. Sorry, Dan. You might have missed your opportunity, Mike.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Yeah. Is it gone? He packed it up in the giant suitcase. Yeah, he's gone. He said, he said it's 90 pounds. He's always carrying around every day. It's a 90 pound box. The trophy's not, but he can't have it dented. And it is put man. I'm surprised. It's in that good of shape. That's absurd. I know it gets redone and stuff, but that's absurd that that that thing's been batted around. Isn't it weird that like it's the only cup that we have in America's sports or maybe all sports where like nobody gets to keep it. It's it's just in cup every year and it goes
Starting point is 00:16:29 around as opposed to getting a replica made every year like this is why hockey thinks and is right that it is better. It is. It's things matter more like of course they of course that thing that trophy has been all over the world and all the best parties and still only hoisted if it is earned. It is a single most prestigious trophy, I think, in all the sports and it surpasses the World Cup, which by the way is a pretty lame trophy considering, like, how difficult it is to win.
Starting point is 00:16:56 But the fact that it's always transient and that it doesn't stay with you and all you have is your memories with it and it goes off to the next scene but you're etched into it. You know it. It's so cool. Like it's it's gooseies. And I got gooseies looking at it. It's it's not America's most popular sport by a wide margin but everyone agrees that that's the top prize.
Starting point is 00:17:20 So white gloves are just for show though. I saw him texting with the gloves on. Yeah, no he took germs on your phone. He took the capacito with the gloves on thing. I think it's a fingerprint thing Right, is it a germ thing? No, it's a fingerprint should have asked a car if I have white gloves on and I can I can touch this with the white Love it's just for sure you see the little barbie trophy after from passage it around Smudge is on it. It's not quite as cool and shiny. Also, phallic shape. Tony blurted out back here that the FIFA World Cup trophy looks like a dick, but I would argue that most trophies look like a dick because that's kind of like the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Well, the college football player. Well, my dick. Well, my trophy looks like both a dick and a vagina, which is incredible. That is so true. Put it on the pole, dude. Why did you add that? Levittar Show, do most trophies look like a dick at Levittar? Exactly.
Starting point is 00:18:13 But the college football executive decision, no thank you so much. That's probably one of our least controversial. Can you put it up on the pole? Does the college football play off trophy look like both a dick and a vagina? At the scene, damn time. This trophy, though, and I don't mean to go all sports reverent on you, but just so you understand what the final is. These people are unbelievably tough and earning that thing is really impossibly hard. It's impossibly hard to win that thing.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Like it hurts, it breaks everybody's bodies. And you couldn't have cared less. You really embarrassed me. I took a call, we were all taking pictures. You understand that you would have died if you took the hit that Radco-Gudas got in game two. You would have died. It would have killed you.
Starting point is 00:19:00 It would have killed you. And he's playing tonight. And he's playing tonight so he can, on the chance, that it could hoist that thing over his head. He hasn't been able to skate in a week because of whatever's happening in his body. He has not the same player that he was earlier, correct?
Starting point is 00:19:13 No, he's, well, tell him, get me started. You wanna talk rigged games? That whole first period was essentially a second quarter of last night's camp. Yeah, everything is rigged, Tony. Because they lost? Well, so it was set up for us to get here and then lose Look, I'm not gonna get into it anymore with you guys
Starting point is 00:19:30 But you need to send that film to the FBI from the second quarter because Tony brothers holy rigged that quarter Why are you looking at me like this the NBA Finals have been fixed before the second I They've been fixed before Make sure the sandboard is up. Please hold on. Hold on. Time to throw away all your realistic credibility and get red glaze. Here is something we like to call a rugless speculation. You're good.
Starting point is 00:20:00 I'm mad that Erick's Bolstrad didn't say, I don't care what you find me, find me. That second quarter was flatly rigged. It was rigged. I would love my best friend. It was rigged. Do you have that sound? It was rigged. We do not.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Mike, I am hours away from having illustrious NBA elite league officials here hosting them. It's rigged. No, dude, you're rigged. No, no, no, no, rigged. it's rigged no dude you're no no no no rigged it's rigged It's rigged I'm gonna mark it I'm gonna murtar you yeah I am okay, this is not good analysis. How does Gabe Vincent get called for both of those fouls back to back Look Yokech we all acknowledge his greatness How does Gabe Vincent get called for both of those fouls back to back look?
Starting point is 00:20:47 Yo-kitch we all acknowledge his greatness He can't keep getting away with this shit He can't be playing the game a different way and also be better than everybody else They they they instituted rules from LeBron where they're like he's just big faster strong than everybody and occasionally rules Yeah, they did it for sure to one you've gone gone from how does Kyle Lowry push him to the ground? Yochitch was in his bag in multiple ways. That's okay. That's weak. Come on, dude.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Flatfooted. No, that's weak. He, no, and this, this parts fair. Yochitch, stop flopping. Like, come on. Look at you. You can't get better than everybody else. I was seeing it.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Like, come on. You can't, that second quarter else. I was seeing it. Come on. We can't, that second quarter, that was a crazy atmosphere, and it felt like, oh no, the Denver's on the ropes, how is this team that hasn't actually ever been here, going to deal with this, and Tony Brothers wheeled them back into that game, and granted, manageable deficit at half time,
Starting point is 00:21:41 and they kicked the ass of the Miami Heat in that second half. Also, the Miami Heat's defense changed because of how that game was called in the second quarter. Mike, but they also changed it because they have two dynamic players that had a 30-point triple double for the first time in history together on the same quarter. Yeah, and Yoki Chowd have been out of that game in the second quarter. No, if that game were officiated properly and they actually called fouls on him because he's bigger than everybody else and yet he still feels the need to put his forearm in
Starting point is 00:22:11 your lower back and fully extended so he can grab an easy rebound. Vinnie Goodwill during the press conference said this is the biggest discrepancy of rebounds since 1972. Yeah. Like they can't play the the same way they're bigger than the heat Yes, and across the board. I understand and additionally They're allowed to play a different style of basketball than Miami That's why they thought they were dominated in the paint go get a board not just because they're bigger But because they're pushing in the back and they allow Yoke itch to do whatever he wants on that court Yo, the heat were 17 of 46 in the paint.
Starting point is 00:22:48 The effort, the effort was bad. Jimmy Butler said the effort was bad effort. That's not bad effort. Oh, bam, bam had a, a, a, a, a, trotious effort. There was a loose ball rebound that trick. There were four heat players around it. And it took a balance and went right into the orange. Wait a minute. We're really going to do this. Yes. Yes. There was a play where the four guys stared at a basketball and it ended up being an offensive rebound for the four.
Starting point is 00:23:10 What I'm doing is I'm listening to the team leader, Jimmy Butler, say effort was a problem. Okay, and every time a team loses, this is, they did this after Denver. Reeged to, he wins with that though. Reeged, that's the big. It's the Trump card. It's good, That's right.
Starting point is 00:23:25 That's right. Fossies, come on. It can be big. It can be both things. They could have kicked their ass, but they kicked their ass because of how the game was officiated in the second quarter. It could just be bad calls, though.
Starting point is 00:23:36 It doesn't have to be rigged. I mean, I mean, please, let's get some reasonable. It's Tony Brothers. Let's get this is the only sport on the planet, only sport on the planet where everybody knows Scott Foster did that shit, okay, and yet he gets his assignments and when Scott thoughts oh equalizers coming to town That foster wasn't even refilling I understand but it's emblematic of the sport the fact that everyone knows Oh here comes the extender and every time he delivers on it this port has an issue
Starting point is 00:24:05 i got to do this again and then you can get a day and took issue with how adam silver was closely garden the jama rand thing we have a sport this is your you're good we have a sport you're good we have a sport let me take a deep breath
Starting point is 00:24:22 yes please well we should take a few how about this ticket second and re-read take a deep breath. Yes, please. No, we should take a deep breath. Let's take a second and re-breath. Take a deep breath in the penalty box, please. Oh, please. Because he's recklessly speculating. He's not recklessly speculating, Dan. He's recklessly ruining my event.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Where I have people coming. Like I, I, I, I the media hospitality. Went there with shook hands with kids babies. We let them know, hey guys, we're doing this thing. We're very appreciative of everything you guys have done for us at Metal Like Media. You know, they've helped us tremendously over at League of Office. And I said, this is our way to say thank you. And they were all very touched. So yeah, we'll be there for sure.
Starting point is 00:25:00 Like we're excited to come over. They haven't been in Baycares event, but they're gonna come over after that. But like, here's the deal. I mean, now I got my- You're gonna make me anti-NBH. No! Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:25:10 I know what you're making. How many of you guys have been in? Mike Ryan. Tom. Tom Tolberg can have a kaipetian yet anywhere else wants. You're ruining this. You are ruining this for me, Mike. And so is Tony Brothers.
Starting point is 00:25:20 He's ruining this for me. We have an A-CID. We have a short team. They're giants. It's hard enough. The guy makes circus shots with ease and Additionally, he's allowed to play by different rules equalizer just like you did with chat So just just like you did with the rod to be clear just like they did before they integrated the sport The boss Celtics Shut up. He won't do game for you guys know he'll be on the rules the basketball when he loses
Starting point is 00:25:44 Don Lebertard. Elton John does not like performing crocodile rock, but to the point we were making, I think he still does because he just knows the crowd wants to hear it. Right. He has to. I feel like that safe. He might be litigious, but that was such a poor imitation of the song. Stugats.
Starting point is 00:26:02 We can all agree. Piano Man. It's my good son. The can all agree, piano man. It's my good son. The crowd needs to sing piano man. Yeah, but I want to hear Billy Joel sing it. Yeah, most of it. They just let you at the end go. But do you do? Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do I'm trying to avoid that. He's rocking our rock. Big Billy Joel's piano. You got it.
Starting point is 00:26:25 It's all right. This is the Don Limita show with this two guts. I believe we just got the get of gets around here. It's not don't laugh before I've gotten this introduction off the ground. He's going to be all humble and stuff. The man is a legend and he's a legend in Vegas where it's hard to be a legend. I've seen him. His face is ID to get into all the big places. And he's also though, he's a Florida guy as well. And I think he should be a Panther fan because he grew up in both. So I don't know where he is, but I believe
Starting point is 00:26:59 he's bigger than Wayne Newton. Now he's more Vegas than Wayne Newton. And I'm not joking when I say comedy legend for 40 bleepin years, 40 bleepin years and still doing it four times a night in Vegas. You, Cara top, Mr. Top, are rooting for who in this series. I just, you can't say 40 bleepin years. It just doesn't sound cool. You know, you guys ain't saying, farting, yes. But yeah, it's gonna be really rough.
Starting point is 00:27:29 It might be the hardest decision of my life being from Boca. I think I performed at this sunrise musical theater when I was young, but my roots, I mean, I'm in Vegas. They're listening to me right now. I'm here in Las Vegas and it's tough. I gotta be honest, I think my heart is a little more for Las Vegas stuff.
Starting point is 00:27:49 What? No! I know. No! I mean, you sell out. You sell out. Yeah, but I'm also for the panthers, to wait. No.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Yeah, you got that political thing, you know? You're gonna be fans of both teams. You're playing both sides. I'm four racing taxes, but we back a political thing. You know, you can be fans of both teams. You're playing on charge. I'm for racing taxes, but we can't race taxes. Right. So, uh, so, uh, I'm for both, you know, and it's hard to say I'd be in some Florida one and I could be.
Starting point is 00:28:16 You don't have to get all political. You've avoided that your whole life, huh? I did. How did you manage? This is true. I forget I'm calling it the number one political show in the sports world. I figured I'd help you get one.
Starting point is 00:28:29 Are you? No, it's the tough. It's the tough. It's really tough. I mean, it's hard because they do like both teams. Are you cranking it before the game? You mean like drugs? No, I mean, the thing where you crank it
Starting point is 00:28:40 and get everybody out. Oh, hey, you cranking it before you have it. Yeah, man. Now, I cranking it Now I never cranked it Yes, they have that's a personal question, but yes, I have cranked. They give me the they gave me that one twice I've done it twice and apparently Wayne Newton has Has beaten me be one by one crank so I was watching wait. I was at game two and I was just watching I got a catch up on a crank Wayne looks great to catch up on a crank. Wayne looks great. Wayne looks like hell. What are you talking about? Be honest. Come on, Karen Tom. No, no, no, no, no, no, I love, I love
Starting point is 00:29:15 what you're doing. You can't take out the legend. What's the matter with you? But you know, I love I love you are more Vegas than him though. You are I help no, he's Mr. Vegas. I I'm Mrs. Vegas. Yeah, we changed one night. We were doing a we were doing a video. It was really hot like really hot right? I looked over and Wayne Newton's hair was dripping. So I went over and I said, you're I said I gotta I said I. I got a picture here and and he's look back at me and I said it's just like a little black. Oh, no. I was dripping. So I had my match. No, it's natural. It's just naturally dripping. It's naturally. Wait, I want to really, I'm sitting there dripping. I thought I should
Starting point is 00:30:02 probably. You have seen Hollywood melt away, vanity melt away. So you had to laugh to yourself that that symbol for Vegas excess that is hair was tripping down his face. Yeah, I know what to do. No one else is doing it. The makeup bar is like, I'm not touching it. It's like someone fixed way new hair. So I took over the...
Starting point is 00:30:23 I mean, you don't hate the Panthers though, because they keep getting... No, no, no. But their fans keep getting their... I love the Panthers. They love the Panthers. Great Americans. No, I love a... I love a...
Starting point is 00:30:36 I don't know why I'm doing my... My Trump impression is the worst in the world, but I just go into it. I think it's pretty good. I was hit. It's pretty good. I was it. Pretty good. I saw it. I saw it. Michelle Malib that a carotop doesn't really
Starting point is 00:30:49 get on the pump. Always been a fan of you. I'm always been a fan of you. I wish we could say that. Oh, come on. We're paid. We've got to we've got to work together. Well, I love this game.
Starting point is 00:31:04 It's very exciting, though coming to to to to nothing I mean, it's really this town's going crazy as you're done and They're getting in a way of course probably going crazy. Oh, yeah Are they already talking that already? They you know the have you ever been to the arena because it's kind of where you went to Community college. It's often it's kind of where you went to community college It's often it's like in the Everglades. I was curious as to where it was because I said I've been I lived in Florida my entire life I don't think I've been to to that area very often
Starting point is 00:31:37 But I went to Bokeh. I was in Bokeh. I guess I saw too far from From there. It's right next to sawgrass mills. You ever been a sawgrass Sawgrass mills man has been a while, but they apparently they have a hockey team down there. So that's good. This is good show. How do we get goose off horseling going? How was that? How do we get Brandon Montor going? We had like anything else. They're going to have to get these guys motivated and that's what they did in the last game. I mean, I think it's just like watching the basketball game last night. I mean, I don't even,
Starting point is 00:32:08 I'm not a huge bath muffin. But that series is unbelievable how close the first second third games have been by by one like motivating thing, one factor that
Starting point is 00:32:16 all comes in. Same as the nights they came in really motivated. Now I think we'll see what happens down in a floor. Do you do you think three was rigged though? Because we have some game rigged. Yeah, like the and same as the nights that came in really motivated. Now I think we'll see what happens down in the
Starting point is 00:32:25 in Florida. We was rigged though because we have some game rigged. Yeah, like the officials rigged it. We mean the basketball game last night. Yeah, yeah, very clearly. Oh, tell everything's rigged in sports. Yeah, the whole thing was rigged.
Starting point is 00:32:37 What are we doing? He knows what he's talking about. Does when Wayne Newton speaks to you, do his team whistle? He doesn't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It looked like they whistle.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you know, I'm not going to say, you know, they never speak. What am I talking to you never speaks to me? What are you crazy? Never spoken to me. No, I contact. No, no, I can't.
Starting point is 00:33:02 I got to be honest though. It seems to us honestly, and I don't know if the Vegas is got to you the Vanity whistle. Yeah, that's the rest. They just look away You are faking it when it comes to your sports fandom. You don't care Well, you don't care one lick about anything that's happening in sport right now. This is how I know. No, I thought, I thought baseball, I thought, no, but that's just bullshit analysis. They look. No, I know, like super motivated top. Come on. Super, super motivated top. I am very for these games, I am in
Starting point is 00:33:41 the normal and the normal here. I can tell you your saying the difference in the game is that Vegas was super motivated. Well, I think well, I think they were one they had the home advantage of being home. That's a very loud arena. I think they did come pumped up fired up. Heads are when it was real loud. There was some call. There were some calls on those games and the hockey game too. That were a little bit people were going to questioning. Yeah. I always say that the one score. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Ragged. I think every time when you watch any of these games, you see these things that are sports that are that it just seems planned to me. So you're from Bokeh. I mean, even when the coach gets thrown out at baseball games, I mean, that's kind of now becoming kind of a joke, isn't it? Like if coaches just take a scene like, ah, they're out. Like, you can't, you can't, you can't do anything. So I think that's kind of silly, but you're from Boka and Lionel Messi is going to be playing his soccer games professionally about Diffund. And it's away from Boka. Any Boka nightlife tips outside of Blue Martini for Lionel. I say book or tones. It's like the bed life of fun. Yeah. When I went to college in Boka, there was there was one bar. I think it was still is that really what it's called? The
Starting point is 00:34:55 blue. It's still there. I think it's closed. I don't think. But it's yeah. Yeah. Well Lane Kiffin left town and he took the blue martini with him. I think it's symbolic. Yes, just a blue martini, just a franchise blue martini. I think he got publics. I think that's about it. I mean, when I went to that publics, when I was in college, there was valet parking. And I used to just say, they have valet parking
Starting point is 00:35:19 in a grocery store. Are you crazy? That's how much money they had. And you know, it's what a great town to be when you're broke and just have nothing living in Boca, where people are driving on Rolls-Royce, it's high-hour. So it's kind of a tough town to go to school. Well, me, you still got the beach,
Starting point is 00:35:34 you still got a lot of things you could do, trouble-wise, but there's a lot of things to do in Boca or town, or even down that way. So, I think, I think, last time you were on with us, you told a great Nick Cage story, what's best Vegas story like you've lived there a long time and I've seen profiles over seriously I obviously I need to explain to the audience I feel like this man is yeah this man has been comedically relevant for 30 35 years it's really hard 35 it's really hard to do yeah what happened
Starting point is 00:36:03 of the four I lost five years somewhere. Well, because you said you didn't like 40 years, but you've been doing it a long time. You've been doing it a long time and you've been doing it in Vegas. How many shows now? How many years? We've been in Vegas for, geez, 29.
Starting point is 00:36:18 Really? Of the 40, yeah. We've been in a while, I started when I was six. Oh. Yeah. I was in charge of checking Wayne's hair to make sure it wasn't dripping. And then you can go up.
Starting point is 00:36:32 And then when I was my turn, he'd whistle. His teeth was, whistle, I'd go, and I'd go. No, it's been many years. I've had people come this, you know, we've had like people come, it's kind of fun. We had you, we had you come this year. That's not too much. We had them. Yeah, it's kind of funny. We had you, we had you come to the show. We had, we had, we had the band Queen. Wow.
Starting point is 00:36:51 We had Meatloaf, that was fun. Here's my fun Meatloaf story. So I figured, hey, it's Meatloaf. He's at the show. He named himself Meatloaf. He must have a sense of humor. So, I mean, I call myself Caratop. So I come out and there's Meatloaf, right, sitting right there with two sides.
Starting point is 00:37:07 And, uh, no. And, um, and, uh, so, yeah. So I think it sounds like, it sounds like a bit, doesn't it? So it's meatloaf, it's got two sides. And so I thought I love you meatloaf. And the whole crowd went nuts because it's meatloaf right there. It was going, oh my god god That's really meatloaf. How did he what's he and so I said I have a I had a prepare because I knew I knew it was coming So I said I have my favorite meatloaf song. He's ever done and he's like what's that and I says this one for me to you We played that song. I would do and the thing for love But I won't do that and when I pointed to that behind the big screen is a big picture of a pentaton exercise fight Well, do that. And when I pointed to that behind the big screen is a big picture of a pentaton exercise bike. Oh, come on. And the crap, yeah, no, the crowd.
Starting point is 00:37:50 No, no, no, no, I never, Oh, man. What are you doing? What are you doing? I was trying to do, I was trying to do comedy, and it didn't work. I mean, I never, I never got to meet me after that. You kind of boot out, but what do you do?
Starting point is 00:38:04 And he's no longer with us now. Yeah. And that was that now was no longer he was in love just to retort that. Maybe. Hey, maybe if he did do that, he'd still be here. Yeah, right. Exactly. I might have really, really, you're both. I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I might have killed me. I'm not I'm cut. I might have killed me. Love. Yeah. Well, no, that was COVID. Oh, yeah, take over God.
Starting point is 00:38:27 And the two sides are fine, by the way, in case you worried about them, they're great. They still come to the show.
