I am happy that we had the lovely palate cleanser of song there to break the tension between
Mike Ryan's elevated again. He was going to be rational about the University of Miami.
We got him finally.
He did.
And he's elevated again because the country is coming after Miami, which is 6-0 for only the third time this century,
and they're noticing that the quality of opponent
that you're struggling against and that you're down against,
you've got a very good quarterback,
but there are other things to be concerned about there.
But Mike, we finally got you agitated on your birthday.
That's not what we were going for as a group.
Yeah, it's never what you guys are going for as a group.
Quality of opponent, those takes have really bothered me.
But thankfully, the season will play out
and we'll see exactly how good Virginia Tech
and how good Cal might be able to be.
It's just, I'm not, after a comeback like that,
which is not a game Miami really ever wins,
after a season like this, which is definitely different
than previous seasons
or different flirtations, is Miami back and whatnot.
It's just, for that to be the conversation,
they got lucky, they're beating bad opponents,
okay, we'll see, the ultimate truth teller
is the full season sprint.
And so I think that what happened on Saturday
was a reason to actually celebrate
because they had their C- game, went on the road,
longest road trip that you'll have outside of an opponent
facing a Hawaii all season long in this country.
They went to a hostile environment,
a team that had a bye week to prepare for them.
They played like crap and they came out and win.
And we want to make it about a targeting call?
Tennessee just lost on the road to Arkansas.
Focus on that.
No one's really knocking them.
No one's saying that they're a fraud
to be in this playoff discussion.
So.
Let me help you, Mike.
This is what you say.
You can only play the teams on your schedule.
And so far Miami's undefeated.
That's all you gotta say.
I've been in your position before as a Notre Dame fan
going undefeated and everyone saying,
well, you're playing Navy.
Well, you can only win the games on your schedule.
And this year in the 12 team playoff, you gotta win all your games. Maybe you lose one here or there,
but you got to see what everyone else does. And so far, everyone else has had
missteps here and there. And that's great for Miami. So that's all you got to
say. Miami wins their games. They in the cliche, they control their own destiny.
That's an excellent point in that Miami. Sorry, Dan, that Miami has more pressure
associated with these games than the SEC does. Now it's bad, unfortunate for Tennessee and Alabama to fall to the teams
that they did, but luckily for them, their schedule will allow for lots of times for
the hype train to get back around them and you're going to probably have a three loss
SEC team in this playoff. For Miami, if they stumble, like they didn't even lose and they
fell back because someone was convinced that they lost, like they didn't even lose and they fell back because someone was
convinced that they lost, like they're going to have to be damn near perfect this regular
season to get in that college football playoff.
But it doesn't even matter how weak your schedule is if you're Miami, as long as you win all
your games you get an automatic bid because you're going to be a ranked P4 champion.
That's really hard to do.
I agree.
It's hard to win games.
It's hard to take care of business week in and week out
as we saw many marquee teams fall this year.
Notre Dame, loss to Northern Illinois, at home.
It's really hard and I think people need to realize
that one of the unintended consequences
of having these super conferences,
it's going to make those road trips to Vandy,
those road trips to Kentucky, those road trips to Arkansas. Minnesota!
Minnesota, like extra difficult because you're going to have plenty of spots where you're looking
ahead in your schedule and you have a lot of good coaches with a lot of good resources in their
programs. They're waiting to pick you apart. Sounds like Miami players are going to need an
antidote of confidence drink before their next game. Oh Dan, did you see that story? We'll get to James Franklin in a second. We will also get to PJ Fleck in a second
because I know we want to do that but Pablo Torre has joined the show.
I also think some of what's happening in college football is that most people
understand that the SEC is better than everyone else and they're all going to
feed on each other and while Texas might look better than everyone, I don't know
how many people would be surprised if they lost at
Oklahoma all of a sudden because of how inconsistent college kids can be but I
don't know if you guys saw what it is that Pablo Torre is doing on Pablo Torre
finds out the award-winning podcast this week but he is doing something that
would make I think most people listening to this say man pablo under normal circumstances can be a pretty obnoxious
bleephole
but what he's doing with this episode where only he gets to see the film
that as read elman made uh...
about prince because it's caught up in litigation
it doesn't appear that netflix is going to release it but he's seen it because
he's friends with as written a lot of people want to see this film
But it doesn't look like the film is actually going to see daylight the latest episode of Pablo Torre finds out
Explores what Ezra Edelman the Oscar-winning
Documentarian who made the OJ Simpson documentary has spent the last few years of his life doing Pablo
It's very frustrating that you and Wesleyris the acclaimed critic have seen this film
and no one else is seen this film when everyone has to be asking as right can i
see the film
everybody everybody is asking as for that uh... people who i will not name
not to betray confidence is but like
the most a list people in ho in Hollywood are demanding to see this and
they can't and it's because Ezra spent four and a half years of his life making and this is like I'm glad you disclosed the friendship between me and Ezra because it should be
Caveated that when I say this is a masterpiece one of the greatest works of both art and journalism
I've ever seen it should be appended that I also like the guy. But also,
you should know that, Dan, the story here is it's the journalism part, which is why
this movie is not coming out. The estate of Prince is objecting to this vociferously.
They fear that it's going to cancel Prince Rogers Nelson. They fear that this is going
to undermine the bottom line, the money-making enterprise that is their estate.
And the reality is, we're living in this time when this is also why people don't do journalism and documentaries really anymore.
It's typically not something that you have to go to war with an estate over. It's typically something that you approve of because it's gonna make you money. And in this case, you have an almost extinct model
of art and journalism being a very, very, very compelling
thing to watch for nine hours, which I did.
Was Ezra surprised of the vociferous objection
by the estate?
Did he not get to them in advance?
Well, I can't speak for Ezra on this,
but I can say that the estate had the right
to review this film for factual accuracy.
And what the New York Times Magazine
has separately reported is that the concerns
were not even so much factual.
It was about, and David, you know of estates,
it's what happens when you're afraid
that the money spigot's gonna change.
And of course, the thing that is infuriating to me
having seen this thing, and I'm glad Dan also led
with the obnoxiousness of me getting to brag
about how I saw this thing, but when I saw this thing,
what occurred to me is,
I deserve this, frankly.
But when you watch this thing,
what you get the sense of is not,
oh, Prince is gonna be canceled,
because by the way, it's really hard to cancel anybody,
especially someone whose music
for me i'm not a prince super fan wasn't a prince super fan i come out of this thing understanding
why there is this cult of personality around a guy based entirely on his music to me this movie
comes out and the streaming the revisiting the last dancefication of a generation getting to appreciate what this actual superstar was before their time.
To me, it makes money for them. It's just that, you know, it's again, it's a dynamic that is fraught in every possible way.
Pablo, it can't be last dancin' because if it were, there'd be no vociferous objection.
The whole point of Last Dance is that it was just a suck-up to Jordan.
Well, hold on. I think that on the one hand, point well taken.
On the other hand, the Last Dance was really good
because it got you a sense of the humanity of Michael Jordan,
where he started, which was not up in the heavens.
Like, it was the long arc of his bitterness,
his resentments, the fuel for him.
But you're right that, of course,
that was a different authorization dynamic. his bitterness, his resentments, the fuel for him. But you're right that, of course,
that was a different authorization dynamic.
In this case, The Last Dance Parallel is,
a lot of people who are too young to know
how good Michael Jordan really was,
would learn if they watched this film
that Prince Rogers Nelson happens to be
not just the greatest guitarist of all time,
but maybe the most talented musician of all time like a modern-day black
motzart which as it makes the case for in the film somebody who is
transcended in ways that i think defy the fear that people are going to
listen to his music less which is a cynical read but also an accurate one
i would urge the audience to check out uh... tom petty and my guitar gently
weeps and the way
that Prince comes on stage.
Just check it out on YouTube and just steals the entirety of the song from people who are
accomplished musicians.
You were going to say something, Pablo?
That scene is my, we talk about this in the podcast episode, you recreate a bit of it.
That scene, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, right?
That induction, this commemoration
of George Harrison at the time, and they use While My Guitar Gently Weeps as the tribute,
and it's all of these great guitarists on stage, Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynn, right?
The pretext for that is what Ezra tells you the story of, and I want people to see this so very
badly and not just get my summary of it, but by the time you get to this scene you
realize that this documentary is a sports movie you get to realizing as Ezra is interpolating
these scenes you've seen earlier in the film of all of the ways Prince felt disrespected was
smaller than felt lesser than was somebody who was left off the Rock and Roll Hall of Fames and this
is Rolling Stone magazine's production their top 100 guitarists of all time list, right?
Questlove says in the film,
it turns out why people didn't realize
that Prince is the greatest guitarist of all time.
All of that is the buildup to this scene,
which you can watch on YouTube, by the way,
it is incredible, of Prince blowing the doors
and the faces off everybody on stage.
It's his dropping 45, wagging his tongue Michael Jordan moment
with the payoff of the journalism that preceded it showing that,
oh, this is pain.
This is a guy who felt humiliated over and over again,
getting to get revenge on everybody,
the establishment on America for not appreciating him.
And the power of this film is that for all the complexity
of what Prince was and what he did
and how messed up his childhood was
and what that led him to do with relationships with women,
by the time you get to that scene,
you also realize, oh my God,
this dude is maybe the greatest of all time.
And it is just an incredible goosebumps inducing sequence that
it's criminal people cannot watch.
Well on this episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out on your social media channels I saw you
tease this episode and you have a clip from the total opposite side of the spectrum.
One that I actually watched and I had secondhand embarrassment for Prince.
It was a very cringey performance and that was essentially taken from this documentary that people can't see. How were you able to get that
clip out there in this episode if the documentaries embargoed?
Yeah, so we found the original source footage which was bootleg posted to
YouTube of this James Brown concert in 1983. And you're right Mike, this is the
opposite. And so what we do with Wesley is recreate. Again, I feel bad
about this because we are getting-
You're smiling.
I know, I know.
I am enjoying how much I got to recreate
the hard four and a half year long labor
that Ezra had to go through the birth of this film.
And to Jess's point, yeah, I get to delight in,
wait a minute, oh, I can scoop this movie a bit.
I can actually present this to
you with our summary of Ezra's analysis, his journalism, and the scene, and again I won't
belabor it here, but it's James Brown, 1983, on stage calling to the front of the room on stage
Michael Jackson, who just happens to be in the arena, right, and Michael Jackson, for those not
familiar, is the archrival of Prince, and Ezra goes on to detail all of arena, right? And Michael Jackson, for those not familiar, is the arch rival of Prince.
And Ezra goes on to detail all of the ways in which,
of course, these parallels, right?
Along racial lines, along cultural lines,
there are these mirror images almost.
And he calls Michael Jackson onto the stage, as you can see,
as we're playing on the DraftKings Network and on YouTube.
And Michael Jackson is Michael Jackson, right?
1983, he is charming, he is incredible,
he wins over the crowd.
And what Michael Jackson does is he whispers
into James Brown's ear,
hey, you should call up that little guy in the audience
because Prince was also in the building.
And Prince goes on stage summoned by James Brown
via Michael Jackson and proceeds to, in so many words, choke.
Like has one of the worst performances
by any public figure you will ever see.
The guitarist playing is out of tune.
He's gyrating, taking off his shirt.
He's trying too hard.
Anybody who's watched sports knows this.
He's trying way too hard.
And he grabs a lamppost at the end.
By the way, he's carried onto the stage by a giant man.
He's riding on his back just to give you a sense
of like what this is like,
the acid trip aspect of all of this.
But at the end of the performance, he grabs a lamppost,
the lamppost tips over and Prince falls into the crowd.
And it's just one of those things where you see
invincibility being fueled by the opposite.
And it's just one of these things that again,
it's a sports movie as well.
And yes, the embarrassment of that is still making all of us,
I think cringe who's seen it.
I urge all of you to check out Pablo Torre Find Out
because Ezra Edelman, I believe to be the best maker
of documentaries that there is. He
won an Oscar for OJ Simpson. I'm guessing Pablo thinks this one is better and I
was very eager to see what he would try to follow that with because of what the
expectations were. Are you trying to see it? Are you angling to actually see it? No, I can't see it. I have
asked Pablo to see it and he has given me the list of people who have asked to see
it who are not allowed to see it because of whatever it is that surrounds this film.
But the thing that I wanted to ask Pablo, because we're in the documentary business,
because today, Metal Arch Media is telling you that we're making our Netflix debut this
month on October 23rd with The Comeback, a three of three episode series on the two thousand four boston red sox when i look at the macro of the business
i see hollywood being chewed up by hedge funds and soon hollywood will be three
or five companies that are just making all the movies
i see vince mcmahon trying to buy back his movie from netflix cuz he doesn't
like what's in it i see oprah winfrey buying back her movie from apple because she doesn't like what's in it
will this ever see the light of day and what is happening in the industry that
great work like this that everyone would want to see isn't going to be seen i
don't think even though the great filmmaker has spent four years putting
his soul into this
Yeah, the question you have to ask yourself as somebody who cares about watching great things that teach us about the stuff
We love the most right is not an obscure random artist
This is a monocultural figure that everybody would have some interest in
Question have to ask yourself is if Ezra's film never gets released
What does it say about anybody who should try to make anything of that level of ambition? You know, to do
not just art, but also the journalism part. And this is, look, Dan, I come on here and
talk about journalism with you a lot. This is what it looks like in real terms when you
make something that takes its subject seriously.
And there are ways, of course, to do great films with the participation of the subjects.
Right?
We see it all of the time.
We mentioned a couple of them.
The Last Dance being one prime example.
The Red Sox film, again, I work for Metalwork Media.
I'm super excited to see that.
But the question is whether this other version that Ezra is the best at, maybe the
greatest of all time at, again caveats included, whether that can even exist anymore, whether there
can be enough demand expressed in the marketplace to make it worth the while of Netflix or any
streamer to pick the side of the artist, in this case the filmmaker, over an estate or the subject?
And that to me is a mathematical question
that is looking real bleak right now.
And so the hope is you listen to an episode like this,
you think about whether you wanna see something like this,
and you express that in the marketplace
because I want more good shit made.
I want more great, actually forget good.
I want the best possible things made,
which means that here's the category that is laying fallow
because the math seemingly involves risk aversion
in a way that's depressing.
Well, the industry kind of changed
during the course of the close of five years
that Ezra was working on this.
Documentaries kind of changed
in terms of the authentic stories they're able to tell because I guess part of the cost
analysis that Ezra was doing when he decided to take this project on is how
do I tell a Prince story without having access to his catalog and in order to
get his catalog you need the blessing of the estate and that's how they shift the
power dynamic a little bit isn't that right? Well the back story it's a great
question Mike the back backstory is Netflix reportedly
paid tens of millions of dollars for Prince's personal archive, his vault.
Right?
So this means thousands, and by the way for those not familiar, Paisley Park literal vault,
which Ezra shows in the film, of thousands upon thousands of songs, right?
This legendary archive.
Netflix reportedly pays tens of millions of dollars for it.
And they have a choice to make.
What do we do with this? Do we make a concert film?
A straight up easy to produce thing that everybody would just love?
Or do we hire the OJ guy, the guy who does work that is singular and challenging
and takes pop culture as a concept seriously?
Takes public figure seriously as a matter of, again, pop culture being the thing we are all
downstream of. Politics, everything is downstream of the stuff we actually enjoy and watch, and that's
Ezra's whole thesis, right? Take it seriously. And so what the arrangement was reportedly is,
we will pay for the vault, and in exchange you don't get final cut on the film this now Netflix talking to the state
you get the right to review for factual accuracy right that's how you thread the needle and currently
what we're locked in is this idea that Ezra came back with a film that was nine hours instead of
the prescribed six hours which allows all of these arguments to take place about okay wait a minute
if it's not by the letter of the law exactly what we signed up for, this according to Puck
Now, reportedly, then how does this get ever released if now the estate can hold it up
by claiming, no, no, no, no, no, this isn't what we signed up for.
It's longer than it was.
And also we have these objections around what it's going to do to our bottom line, even
if it's not exactly
about the facts.
That's the way that Netflix ended up working some of this
with Adam McKay and Don't Look Up.
The only way he can end the movie, spoiler alert,
with the world ending is if he came in
at an appointed time on movie.
If he did anything after that that would allow people
to start messing
with the creative they were going to be able to mess with the creative last
question Pablo is it better than the OJ documentary yes how did never gonna see
it and we're just letting him see it I mean he's seen it look this I'll
summarize it right OJ was taking a guy that everybody broadly knew about
and it took us in a zoomed out way
into a discussion about every big topic
in the country, in the world, right?
What Prince is, is a journey to the center of the earth,
into this vault that has been locked.
It's a story about a guy who never told
the truth about himself.
And so it's going more inward than outward, but you still get that same sensation of,
this is not just about this man, this is about us. Not in a cliched way, in a real way. And
unfortunately, Dan and David, the way that this has happened the meta text of this right
another film locked in a vault another artist who has to contemplate what does
it mean to make a masterpiece that no one can see think about that how maddening
that must be for four years this particular guy too unbelievable yes just
brutal Pablo we got to go Pablo Torre finds out I'm sure people will find this
interesting because almost everything that he's doing on Pablo Torre finds out I'm sure people will find this interesting because almost everything that he's doing on Pablo
Torre finds out is interesting. So Pablo's episode is just me edging to a movie I'll never see. That's right. Okay, that is correct
That's exactly right. Thank you Pablo. The balls are blue and purple even. Okay maximum bleep hole is Pablo Torre

Getting back to what it is that we were talking about before we got here,
I just saw that Lucy popped up in the Zoom.
I was not expecting her, but this is a perfect time
to talk to Lucy because we were about to talk about
both PJ Fleck and James Franklin.
Let's put on the screen again,
the last time we talked about the Minnesota coach,
PJ Fleck, he was crazed with a referee
and he started barking at the referee
like a small dog would bark in a rage.
What is the latest information that we have as we
cover the holy hell out of PJ Fleck?
The latest information is they were aided in their upset victory because PJ Fleck made his team take a shot of confidence.
And that wasn't a metaphorical shot of confidence. He concocted an actual literal shot of confidence that had
spright as one of the ingredients,
and he made his team drink this antidote.
Apparently it was capsules filled with Sprite.
Lucy, what are your thoughts on PJ Flex's
little gimmick here that kinda worked?
You guys are new to Big Ten West football.
He does this all the time.
This is like the most normal PJ Flex behavior ever.
It doesn't result in wins very often,
and I don't feel like-
No, it doesn't.
And I don't feel like the shot of confidence
should have Sprite in it.
I think it should have something better than Sprite in it.
It has McDonald's Sprite in it, that's different.
Wow, the best Sprite.
I wonder that you won.
That's really different.
What's going on with James Franklin, Jess?
So James Franklin's trying to lobby to get state college
to build a longer runway, because right now they're flying
to USC this weekend, requires a large plane
to go a long distance, so they have to take a bus
to Harrisburg and then fly from Harrisburg,
which then it's like a six hour flight from Harrisburg.
So he's like, this is a long flight for us
to go to a conference game,
which he's absolutely right about.
And so he's been trying to lobby to get the city
to extend the runway at their home airport.
Work in a refueling stop.
Okay, that takes a long time too.
And you have to, like, that's not that helpful.
The big city is Harrisburg that we're flying to LA on.
This is the capital of the state. Yikes.
James Franklin can feel like he is the center
of that particular universe if you know what it is
to be Penn State coach there.
He's following Paterno and he's got Penn State undefeated
again even though I feel-
Why is he following Bill O'Brien?
I feel like this is the same Penn State team
that it always is, that they're gonna be capable
of winning nine games but they're gonna score 21 points in the ones that matter and lose which
leads me to my put the town on alert play we like USC
now the town on a lebatard reddit I gave you license to put this out there for
whatever reason you put out the qualifier of Mike also thinks they can
win this game I guess the vanity spread was too big that you didn't believe it.
Thankfully, I have tape of this.
I called that Vandy.
That Vandy money line sprinkle.
So I think USC can win that game straight up.
That's your classic Big Ten clash, USC Penn State.
Lucy, are you calling any upsets this weekend?
No, I actually have to go.
We plan this timing out really poorly.
I had about three minutes to talk and my talk took two of them.
All right, Lucy, good talking to you.
No one told me you were going to be here.
Jess, do you want to put the town on alert?
Do you have any upsets?
Yes, I would like to put the town on alert
to listen to Jen CFB for my upset picks of this week.
You will hear it in tomorrow's episode,
where Lucy and I will have more time.
Lucy actually, she got bumped like 30 minutes because Pablo got bumped like 30 minutes so that
was not her fault but someone's got to defend her around here. You guys look very upset. She said
she had a heart out at noon. I just don't understand. No one told me at any point today that Lucy was
going to be on the show. That was not something that ever came up from anybody, any single voice from any of the people who work here.
And then when she came up, no one mentioned,
by the way, you've got 120 seconds to get it done.
She made me feel bad about talking for two minutes
and it's my birthday.
Wow.
Wow.
Ha ha ha ha ha.
And happy birthday to him.
I don't care.
Good luck. I don't think she knew that and she's usually much nicer to me
Texas and Oklahoma is this weekend you guys have been talking for a while about these monster weekends that we have I
Happen to think that Texas A&M is also exceptional and can beat just about anybody
I was surprised by Tennessee losing to Arkansas, but I don't
know how allowed I am to be by any of these good SEC teams losing to any of the other
good SEC teams.
I think that when, well, if you want to start with Texas, Oklahoma, that's the 330 ABC game,
the Red River rivalry in Dallas. It's a neutral site. Every year they play it there at the
Texas State Fair.
Texas is coming in now as the newly anointed
number one team in the country
because Alabama lost last weekend.
In Oklahoma, while they're ranked 18,
they have had some big struggles on offense.
They have a new-ish quarterback
who didn't start the season, Michael Hawkins,
who's gonna be starting this game.
But their wide receiver room's extremely banged up
and their offense has been really sluggish
and not scoring a lot this season.
So I think that it's gonna be sort of like
a similar game plan to the Michigan game
where Oklahoma's gonna try to slow down the game
and not let Texas be explosive and come up with a big lead.
But these are also two teams with very good defenses.
I think Brent Venables,
he's one of the best defensive minds in college football.
He's gonna throw everything at Texas in this game.
But I think overall Texas has the better team
because they have a good offense.
Quinn Ubers will be back after missing a few games
with an injury and a solid defense again.
So that's where I think the weakest position on the field
is going to be the Oklahoma offense. So they can come up with a game plan where they are
able to keep like make it a rock fight. I yeah, I even could win this game, Dan, but
I do I do give an edge to Texas. Over the last 10 years, I've always thought this game
is going to end up being one sided one way way or the other because very often it's as obvious as this one is where everyone thinks Texas is better
I would assume even on the road that Texas is a substantive favorite because
people are looking at Texas as the most talented team in the country and yet I
always think that this game is going to be close because of how often it is
close just because it's these two teams playing against each it's always a wacky it's a right yeah it's a rivalry game there are there's always weird stuff
in the red right red river rivalry but that's why you play the games like on paper yeah i can
tell you i think texas is going to win but you play the game and then some stupid wacky
shit happens what's the point spread is it 10 points i saw more than that yeah i think it was
14 the last time I checked.
I think Oklahoma's pretty mid.
I think they were super fortunate to win that game at Auburn.
Venables just runs red, and I think as the season goes on,
those players are gonna check out,
but this is one of those instances
where you just stay away from this game,
because you've learned from previous experience.
One thing that I'm keeping my eye on
when it comes to college football is,
there's a lot of casual media talking heads, you know from like their climb.
They've never really had to pay attention to what is arguably the second biggest sport in this country and because of the television investment
they kind of have to now.
The way that ESPN will pump the SEC, the way that Fox will pump
the Big Ten is something to keep an eye on because it frames every discussion. There isn't much of a difference between
some of these non-SEC schools and Big Ten schools that are in that same tier,
but they'll have you think losing at Arkansas isn't that big of a deal
because it's happening in the SEC and it just means more. To an extent it's true.
It's certainly a more difficult conference
than other people, than other conferences,
but I don't think it's nearly as true as they projected.
And I think there's a lot of lazy analysis
that goes along with it.
Let's watch this weekend when you have
number two versus number three, Oregon.
Oregon, I watched that team play.
They've certainly figured some things out along the line,
but they had an abysmal performance against Idaho
They were they were living and dying against Idaho
And we've totally forgotten that because they're on the West Coast and their Big Ten and the media machine will feed it and Big Noon
Will be there. It's just something to keep an eye on
Yeah, I think like I think certain brands do get like a brand bias in any sport really where you you know
I think maybe Tennessee Arkansas is a good example of that where it's where you, you know, I think maybe Tennessee, Arkansas
is a good example of that, where it's like,
whoa, you know, Arkansas, they're tough.
They were pretty bad last year, actually.
But I'm, I think the, it's kind of what we talked about
earlier with Miami, where it's like,
I'm sort of waiting to really decide
if I think Oklahoma's as mid as they've looked
a few times this season, because they'll get opportunities to win big games.
They'll also get opportunities to lose those games.
And this is an opportunity where if they don't win this game against Texas, considering they already have a conference loss to Tennessee and they have looked pretty shaky at times, I think it would sort of not like eliminate them from the
playoff because I don't believe in saying that.
But it would be really hard to overcome.
And I think it's a big year for putting the town on alert because you have a lot of big
time college football programs that are viewed as bottom feeders. Like Illinois spent some
money on their college football program. They have a staff of repute. You're going to have
so many more games where people are genuinely looking ahead. They're going to take big time
programs that have a lot of resources that are sometimes coming off of
bi-weeks and you're going to see a lot more Vandies, a lot more Arkansases. I
guarantee you. Put the town on alert. Sampson do you know what that is a movie
reference about? Do you have any idea what the town is being put on alert for?
I just know it means that Mike's about to win a lot of people a lot of money.
Okay it's been successful this year that is the correct answer and speaking of a lot of money
our listeners as always have raised a lot of money more than $5,000 just in the
couple of hours we've been on the air here. We are trying to raise money for
victims of Hurricane Milton and global communities in need. World Central
Kitchen is a great organization and I'm urging you again, donate.wck world central kitchen,
