Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. This is the Dunluba Tarshou with the StugatSpotcast. Welcome back, Billy. We're all super happy that you're back. And I think the Miami-Morlains have also gifted you a return gift because I saw a slater scoop that the mascot races are coming back to Lone Depot Park. In that tweet by Andy Slater,
Starting point is 00:00:36 I learned that the mascot races had gone away. I was one of the first, yeah, along with the luminaries, it was one of the luminaries, the home run sculpt, sure the mascot race were amongst the casualties of the Geter regime, but now it's back, but it's not the great sea creatures anymore. Good, so we will not be seeing Julio run around unfortunately anymore, which I was very excited about
Starting point is 00:00:57 Julio the octopus will not be running around. The sea creatures look weird. I like the sea creatures. Well, do you wanna know what the, it should be like Miami icons, like a big like, like Pippel. It like the sea creatures. Well, do you want to know what the it should be like Miami icons like it's like like like Pitbull. It's three roosters. Oh, I kind of like that too. It's three new mascot roosters that will be racing first races tomorrow. August first. You've ever the thing about the roosters though is that the sea creatures fit with the Marlins sea motif
Starting point is 00:01:22 whereas roosters and Marlins don't fit. Well, they fit with little vanna. They fit with the, yeah. If you go into that ballpark, there's roosters everywhere. There's roosters everywhere. Yes, I agree. I just meant purely the aquatic motif. We get it. I don't know how I, I'm excited about this,
Starting point is 00:01:38 but also like, do I want to get attached? Because what if the roosters don't last, and then I have to have three more mascot casualties. What were the luminaries? What is that? The lumina while summer back, the luminaries were the the Marlins greats that were let go from I guess their luminary contracts
Starting point is 00:01:57 or whatever their situation was. And it was like greats like Jeff Kohnin and what would they do? Donnie Perez. Oh yeah, Donnie Perez. I forgot about him. Andre Dawson. Oh the hawk, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Yeah, the same guys they always go to. He was at dance wedding. He was at dance for teen. No, we were just like, you know, there for thing. I don't know. You'd have to ask David what it is that they did exactly. I think he just hired like former Marlins and they were kind of just on the payroll to do things like
Starting point is 00:02:25 appearances or whatever. But Niners back and he was doing an appearance. I saw AJ Burnett was also back in the fold too. That was surprising. I thought that ended, well, nah, I thought that ended poorly. It did. Yeah, I don't know why. He's back though.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Looking good, AJ Burnett. So does it stand to reason that most Marlin relationships have ended poorly? No, they, like, no, they, like, told him go away. Like, in the, like, there was like a month left in the season and I think they're just like, you are not on the team anymore because he was gonna be a free agent. Like, that one ended particularly bad
Starting point is 00:02:56 where it's just like, ah, we've had enough of you. The season's over, we don't need you anymore, go away. If I remember correctly, it may not have been that exact way. Since you've been gone, soccer is now the new major. Since you've been gone, soccer is now the major sport down here. We're soccer town. I watch those games on Apple Plus.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Were you completely enraptured by it? Captivated? I mean, are you a soccer guy? What were they doing with Messi not starting in the first game? That was weird. That's a common place common place stupid thing. Why by the way Yeah, yeah, yeah, work himself in the finish the whole time They're like oh, Messi needs to get his legs under him. Oh, it's gonna take him all right And then the next gaming scores two goals in four minutes. Get out of here
Starting point is 00:03:38 Well that game he came off the bench. You have the game winner. Can I ask a question? Yeah, yeah He got a game winner and then he had two goals the next game seems like he found his legs really quickly. Because of the plan. Can I ask you guys a question? Yes. Coach, while I'm happy that Messi is here in Miami and I think that it's great for the town, for the community, but more so, it's great for the MLS and all that stuff. It's great for my re-sell value. If I were another now granted, the team owners, this is great for them that he's in the league because all of their team values will go up presumably correct.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Yes, okay. It's been reported that the inner Miami's valuation has gone up a billion dollars. Yeah, no, but I'm not inner Miami. I'm saying like, I'm not one of those. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I would be so pissed because the fix was so in on him
Starting point is 00:04:25 getting to Miami. Like it was not like, oh my God, David Beckham went and he really sold him on him, Miami. It was like, well, Apple was involved and Adidas was involved and everybody with MLS was involved, it seemed like they hand picked him and just kind of placed him here. Like I'd be pissed if I was like a fan of another team
Starting point is 00:04:41 or like if I was an owner of another team where I'm like, how did the whole league conspire to put him here? And everyone's just like, yeah. Yeah, that's fine. That's MLS for you. But if that happened in basketball, you'd be like, wait a minute, hold on a second. Yeah, but just pick and choose where you're putting the stars.
Starting point is 00:04:55 But the whole league is benefiting from the results, right? No, I know that. I know that, but I mean, it's like, it's the most soccer shady thing. Oh, yeah, and that day has come. BamBases from other teams are trying to figure out, wait, how is Jordi Alba a non-designated player? How are we making this happen?
Starting point is 00:05:14 But I will say, someone that reported on it, it wasn't written in the Stars and Pre-Dest and all those things that you mentioned, the Adidas contribution, the Apple TV contribution. Those were things that came around later in the development. And I thought Taylor Twelman, he has a new podcast called Offside and he had a fascinating conversation with Jorge Moss. It was really good. Jorge Moss was really revelatory in it.
Starting point is 00:05:38 And he explains that Messi told him that, Messi actually really made his mind up back in September to your point. After they talked and Argentina trained down here. And Moss was like, you could have saved me several years on my life. But that's not really how I think. By the way, Horat Moss won, like, incredibly by not buying a Marlins. Like him not being able to afford the Marlins worked out incredibly well. Or him Moss for someone that had to be able to afford the Marlins worked out incredibly. Or hey, Moss, for someone that would be able to know.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Jorge Moss had this reputation and it's a reputation that's kind of put out there by David Samson because he transparently used Jorge Moss as a stocking horse and publicly drag his actual resources. Jorge Moss has wanted every turn when it comes in or Miami. He saved the franchise. He got the park when no one said he could and he got the best player in the world. Well, I mean, but like, also, if we're being totally honest,
Starting point is 00:06:30 like, you know what I mean, it was kind of a mess until Messi came. Like, right, we're in a good team, and he had coming has now like, fixed all of that. Like, none of that matters anymore. But the counterpoint to that is, you can make the argument that they were a mess because they were preparing for this day.
Starting point is 00:06:44 They didn't have a number 10 on their roster. They kept too open, designated players spot because they were also getting trouble for breaking the rules with payroll and stuff like that. You know how that came about? No. Yeah, the Matwidi thing. One of the owners in their ownership group did not like the mosses and their influence because this Chloré guy was supposed to be the main influential figure there.
Starting point is 00:07:05 He kind of started getting phased out as the mosses influence kept growing and he actually turned them into MLS. Like he, he norked. That's what you need to do. I'm telling you with this whole Miami situation, like you need to watch yourself. Nork on, on, just watch yourself.
Starting point is 00:07:23 You know what I mean? Like just keep your ears out. Just to see exactly right. Mm-hmm. I think my proximity to the storage should quell some people's concerns. As it comes to a university, that's the only angle that I'm coming at it with.
Starting point is 00:07:37 But I do wanna talk a little bit more about Inner Miami because we've seen this happen. It's a weird thing on. When did they play again? They play one second. Okay. It's very hard to figure out their schedule if we go on the internet. Well,, it's a weird thing on. When did they play again? They play one second. Okay. It's very hard to figure out their schedule if we go on the internet.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Well, because it's depending on, is there in a cup competition? So it depends. Tell me what day is there. All of a sudden there in a cup competition? It's a made up cup. All his games so far have been made up. It's a whole thing.
Starting point is 00:07:58 To be fair, Mike has talked about it a lot for the last couple of weeks. Yeah, but I haven't talked about it a lot with Billy or something. No, but I go on the internet and I can't figure it out. I look when's their next game? It says like August 29th. I'm like, what the hell's going on?
Starting point is 00:08:09 Why do you play TV? They're next to me. They're next to me. Their next semilece match in that competition. The regular season is August 20th. But right now they're alive in a cup competition. They played their rival Orlando City. And I don't know if you saw this.
Starting point is 00:08:23 There's a mural in Wim Wednesday. Is that a yarn? Be boring yourself. I am. No soccer. I'm dead. I'm holding in gas. Oh the fart. No, it's a chest gas. A burp? Chest fart. Yeah, chart, which is what is a burp, but a chest fart and put on the pole. I did Yeah, there was a mural that faced in win-win by Orlando City fans. There was a welcome messy. He's had enough for the murals.
Starting point is 00:08:51 There's like eight of them. How about enough of messy and Beckham for that matter? Wow. Well, what I'm tired of them. Mike, is this a big deal or as big of a deal if all of this is going on while the dolphin season is going on or any other season? Like, I'm just tired of it.
Starting point is 00:09:04 We have the brawn and weighed down here. I mean, all I hear about is Messi and Beckham. Beckham and Messi, and I gotta be honest, I'm getting tired of it. I did see that they went to dinner this week. I saw on social media. It looked like there was, it looked like it was Moss, Messi, Bousquets, and who was the, that might have been it.
Starting point is 00:09:21 But I was wondering like, do you think like, oh, and Beckham, Beckham was the fourth one, and their wives, and I'm just wondering, like, Moss is obviously there his own or like, do you think that they're really cool them or is he just the money guy and they like, I was always just wondering. They seem pretty, I mean, listen to the podcast yourself,
Starting point is 00:09:37 but it seemed as though I know Moss and Messy's dad were dealing directly for a very long time. Moss does have a salesmanship about him. He is charismatic and he netted the biggest star in the world. I can't really pick this one apart. I was just wondering what that dinner really looks like. Like when the food is the for that. You think he's the for that because obviously the cool,
Starting point is 00:09:59 like when they're walking in, that like cameras, everyone's so excited. We got a special table for you. Like the walk inin is easy. But once you're like there at the dinner and Moss is just like, what's up guys? How's it going? What did you guys, you find a house yet messy?
Starting point is 00:10:12 Like I just wonder like what the actual intimate conversations are like. I think they're friendly. Right. To answer your question. What do they talk about? Where is that group going out? Schools, I think schools. Schools right now.
Starting point is 00:10:24 We're boring. Were we moving saw I saw somewhere that Messi's already considering a move because the traffic to the stadium has has caught him by surprise. There in last place in the in MLS. Yeah. Oh my god. I also saw internet. I saw internet rumors that the whole public's thing was a setup because public is a huge sponsor. Yeah. I don't like any of this. That he would never actually go shopping. He would have people do it and that's awesome. First time I've seen photos of him going shopping.
Starting point is 00:10:50 So there might be something to it. Really? There's also this thing where when people that have never lived in America come here and see how big our supermarkets are, they always freak out like my brother-in-law. We take him to Costco and he's just like, I don't understand this.
Starting point is 00:11:05 So maybe he just wanted to see it for himself. But I am of the belief that everything is for publicity and fake and staged. So, guys, we will see your hypothesis that people are only caring because it's a slower time in sports. Yeah, that has to help right now in terms of the national discussion. They've been talking about Interminean Daytime Sports Television. And I don't think that happens so much during the NFL season. We will see the latter parts of the MLS season happen during the football season.
Starting point is 00:11:31 There'll be direct conflicts between MLS games and big time college football games. They play their schedule, the regular season schedule on Saturday. So you want to see the NFL program. What is this season? It's confusing. Billy, just stop in the middle of the season. They have tournaments. And when does it start? When does it start? Suddenly there are playoffs season. It has the season. They have tournaments. And when did it start?
Starting point is 00:11:45 When did it start? Suddenly there are a playoff team. And that's hard. It's the last place. I mean, what do we do? They're also in a semi-final and another cup. Cup this season. They're in two cup competitions.
Starting point is 00:11:53 This is the same time. Yeah, that could be in three. She's next to me. This season, what were you going to say? Good. The season has started. It's been started. It has stopped for this competition.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Why? We'll resume. But why? Because it's the worst. It has stopped for this competition. Why? We'll resume. But why? Because it's the worst. Do you ever watch any other soccer? No. There's always like, I mean, it just kind of makes it seem like the season's not that important.
Starting point is 00:12:14 If you're just going to take time off for some made up cup, which is what this is, right? There is a higher rate. It's a mid-season competition. What they all made up? Like the NBA is the only way. That's a whole new, that's a terrible idea. It started on that. It would be like if the NBA had an in-season competition with another league though. Yeah
Starting point is 00:12:29 Made for television just play your games just play your season if they are Giving you more game they're giving you but what but more opportunities to reach out your tickets Are they good are they not good? I don't know wait But what happens if they win this they go back to the regular season and then back to last? No matter what are you guys just finding out about soccer? Yes Don Lebertard Dave cool. Yeah is with us. Did you see the channeling documentary Judd Apertout did? Stugats. Yeah, I did it. This is the Don Lebertar show with this two gods I won't play some of the cynicism that you guys are applying
Starting point is 00:13:06 to this. I'm not this is not citizen. This is I'm trying to learn what the hell is going on. You guys are just doing the soccer big. No, no, this soccer thing is weird. There's an in-season tournament that every team makes even the worst team, even our team, they could win that tournament and then go right back to last play. Just figured it out. Yes, there it is. It is. But why? What matters? It gives tears. You know what it does? It gives teams who are at the bottom of the standings something to play for in the middle of the season.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Yeah, and you have great moments that were. Yeah. And the real stories happen. The Jets would have been in it so many times. How many teams. This was for all. How many teams make a playoffs? It depends on the conference.
Starting point is 00:13:43 I think eight to nine, and depending if COVID is happening, they're so far back. They can make it. They can make it. All they got to do is rattle off four in a row and they're right back in it. That's it?
Starting point is 00:13:54 The fourth place, you have 15 wins. They have five. Yeah, but there's three points for a win. I mean, technically the maps are still in it too. So. It's just, it's kind of like the Ted Lasso thing. How many countries are in this country? It's how many seasons are in this season.
Starting point is 00:14:06 I had a problem with that by the way. What? I mean, we try to go and we have our Australia and expert Morgan out there wanting to contribute talk about these games out there from Australia. And so we brought some actor that's not even in the country not going to the games talking about. You can hear her on the Greg Cody show.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Morgan will have her day. You stole, I can't believe that you got, I mean, good for you guys stealing Morgan, but poor Morgan, man. Goes to the games. Poor Morgan will have her day you stole I can't believe that you got I mean good for you guys stealing Morgan But poor Morgan man goes to the games for getting some Morgan from Australia I have a women sports podcast and I'm not an Australia right now. There is a there this whole thing is your fault My fault house so because you just casually threw out there that Morgan should be our expert. I just know Morgan is great I ask because of Bonafide's art. She lives in Australia. Yeah, she's there. I mean, I'm familiar with how this case
Starting point is 00:14:46 was on the save on the ground, some money. Exactly, I did. I didn't need to send people there. No, so headed into three weeks of paternity leave, you just throw that one out there. Which I played horribly by the way. Why? Because I found out we have 12.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Oh, wow. Yeah, so I have nine to go. Yeah, which is great. Did you get a couple of months? The first time I didn't take enough. And now this time I was like, yeah, I'm gonna take the full and they're like, well, it's 12 now. No, I'm like, no, no, yeah, so I have nine to go. Yeah, yeah, which is great. You get a couple of months. The first time I didn't take enough, and now this time I was like, yeah, I'm gonna take the full, and they're like, well, it's 12 now.
Starting point is 00:15:08 No, it's like around another time. I like you. No, it's like around another time. No, it's like around another time. I like you. Yeah. You can't go during soccer season. I'm gonna see if my wife wants to have another child.
Starting point is 00:15:15 You should, man, do it now, 12 weeks. Do you get it if you adopt? I don't know. Probably, yeah, there's, I think there's new, it's apparently policy. Yeah, parental, yeah, it's great. What I had to make just- You don't have enough time off, Sue Godds. Oh, I'm there's new it's Yeah, parental yeah, yeah, what I had you don't have enough time off Sue God's I'm by the way you guys reveal that I had a child before the child was born. Yeah, yeah
Starting point is 00:15:32 Yeah, he announced that I gave birth to a child before the child was born happy and healthy Best prediction Nailed it. Sorry. Yeah, nailed it. Thank you. You're on a heater. I was like, what, like, getting all these congratulatory things, I'm like, what happened? Oh, man. And then I'm looking around and I'm like, and I'm just trying to figure out like,
Starting point is 00:15:51 in the hospital trying to figure out like, in podcaster's scriptures, like, how could this have happened? Do I have a child? Literally the worst thing you could do. Oh, I can't say anything worse that you could do. I was so mad at him in the hospital, I'm like, what a jerk.
Starting point is 00:16:04 And I didn't even listen to the whole thing. I listened to like 30 seconds. I was like, oh buddy, three weeks. It seems excessive to me. I was back at work the next day. And I'm like, this mother. He was just left on vacation for two weeks to watch the Gravel then.
Starting point is 00:16:20 He's currently playing golf in Tahoe. And then he's off in Colorado, Seattle, somewhere else doing something else. You know, in San Francisco, which I found out he didn't tell anyone's going to, he's in San Francisco the next day for some other concert and he's complaining to me when he just had a three week paid concert trip that I was taking time for someone that had a child. I've had a month. I mean, I gotta be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:16:41 Sorry for cursing. Billy, my favorite thing about your new child is that your wife was pregnant at Moss. And is he's boyfriend knew immediately and was like, you're pregnant and she was like. Yeah, so it's funny, full circle. Two people knew at Moss. It was is he's boyfriend and it was Morgan from Australia.
Starting point is 00:17:02 It was like, you guys expecting it would get like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. That's not great. People shouldn't do that. You should, even if you know it's again, it's definitely a risk. It's definitely a risk.
Starting point is 00:17:13 It's definitely a risk. So I had Mina, Mina's expecting came out publicly in a beautiful red carpet moment at the SPs. Are you gonna do the Pablo thing? What? I knew eight months ago. But I was the one that told Pablo. I back-channeled with Pablo,
Starting point is 00:17:30 and you're not supposed to do this. This is not a great look. And I'm hoping Mina doesn't listen to this. No, tell me who we are. But we were talking about Mina, and I was like, I got a work in theory that she might be expecting. And he's like, what do you mean? You said that? You made it seem like a prediction.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Yeah. But you do. I don't mean a pregnant minus 300. I thought you said you got me an pregnant. No, no, no, that's not what I was doing. But you have to say the way you just said is the way you have to share that news, right? Not to get too much whisper or pull out the mouth. You can always tell people's path to having children by how they know how to
Starting point is 00:18:07 talk about these things. So I didn't necessarily want to bring it up, but probably not our clothes and we're close with Mina and I was just kind of running this theory by him because I had dinner with Mina in Los Angeles and when we went to an Italian restaurant, she ordered a beer. But the waiter circled back after we ordered. And she said quite loudly for the table to hear, you're aware that that's a non-alcoholic beer, right? The beer that you're ordering doesn't have alcohol in it. You ordered a non-alcoholic beer. And so, Cynthia and I, like, just put her head down. That's always that that's always that game that you play where you're analyzing you're like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:47 And you're like, what is that person's pretty severe on St. Patrick's Day? Is that green beer? Non-alcoholic? If you're not discreetly trying to not drink alcohol, this later is totally just the worst. Totally blew up her spot. Totally.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Not the best. To the point that Cindy and I just glance at each other. And the second we say goodbye to Mina, we put her spot. Totally. Not the best. To the point that Cindy and I just cland set each other. And the second we say goodbye to Mina, we put her in the car, we all turned. She's bringing her head, she's gotta be bringing her, she's gotta be bringing her with her mouth, I'll always gotta be bringing her. It makes sense though now because like,
Starting point is 00:19:16 if we're gonna go in the weeds, so dandered a South Beach session with her here in person, like on a Saturday, and I mean, whatever, it doesn't matter. But she was in town by chance for a bachelor at trip for someone else's wedding. And then I remember hearing the plans and I'm like, so she's gonna leave a bachelor at trip to go do a south beat session.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Like she had a really good friend to Dan or a really bad friend to this person. What is all that? She also would do leave to do a South Beach session for three hours in the middle of a batch trip? She already, she recorded the Bachelorette a South Beach sessions at like 11 a.m. on a Saturday. But if you're on a Bachelorette party with a band,
Starting point is 00:19:55 people are still sleeping at that point. That's not true. You're, hair of the dog at brunch. Hair of the dog, really? Yeah. But what time is brunch? That, no. Bachelorette's are like very high stress situations.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Especially ones in Miami. Someone has like a whole schedule and like a whole thing that you have to get brunch with. It's just like a, I've, you know, it's well planned out. Yeah, very well planned out. Very detailed. Very well planned out like exhaustively so
Starting point is 00:20:20 where it's kind of like this is like a job. Meena did well though, because I was out with Meena the night before. I wasn't invited to the Bachelorette party. I just helped them. Wait, you were out. Hold on a second. You were out the night before.
Starting point is 00:20:34 So it was Bachelorette party. Yeah. I went out with you instead. No, no, no. The night before then. I left the Bachelorette party to come do an interview with me. I mean, I mean, and I hate Stephanie Snowden. She has a big bunch of plans with me on Sunday, but we didn't end up going.
Starting point is 00:20:48 A mean and I linked up with the bachelor. I blew you off. I don't remember what happened. We didn't end up going. I had the same thought. Oh my gosh, she must not want to be on this bad. It was very much. She wants to get lunch with me.
Starting point is 00:21:01 It was Stephanie Snowden's bachelor at party. A mean is very close with Stephanie Snowden. A mean was in town. I helped facilitate part of their Bachelor at Party because of my friends at club space. So I kind of got them taken care of and I just made sure everything was good. But then I was with her until like the wee hours
Starting point is 00:21:21 by then knowing Mina's situation. You knew for a fact at this point. Yeah, we wasn't just here. No, I knew at that point. Yeah, we'd been talking about it openly by that point. I love that we're all Columbo right now. Yeah, I love you all. You have more things.
Starting point is 00:21:36 I love you also showing up to the club. Like I'm just here to make sure everyone gets in, all right, you good? All right, mean it, good. I'm just dotting some teas. Ladies. That's how it is. You know, people know who detect text when they get into town.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Crosses the teas. Dot eyes, that's right. Yeah, I just wanted to make sure, I just wanted to make sure that my friends were taking care of. And at that establishment, I have sway. So that's all I was doing there. But I was really impressed knowing what I knew about Mina that she had this early South Beach sessions call time
Starting point is 00:22:09 and she was out, she wasn't raging obviously because she was with child, but she turned that thing around. She actually made it happen on very short rest. And she got a makeup artist well before, it was a reality for us. Which by the way, how am I looking? I still have this scar up here that I'm trying to get rid of
Starting point is 00:22:28 and I think my cheeks are a little red. How are you gonna get rid of a scar? Well, you just cover it up. They asked me if I wanted to make up today and I said no thank you. No, just a little bit. Even if you don't put makeup on, they'll put products on your face that feel so nice.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Well, that's exactly what I was told was like come here, it'll make you feel like, I can make you feel like, I need hours of therapy to feel good like that. Thank you. Like the under the eye patch you're gonna put on is not what I, that was the first time. She puts these things under my eyes every single morning,
Starting point is 00:22:56 they fit to Jess's point. I don't know if they're doing anything for me, they feel great. This was my first day with that. But it's the same for everyone. But it's for everyone. No, it's not shared. She keeps them in the refrigerator.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Yes. And it's really soothing. Look how hydrated my lips are, really. Did you have to make the nose great on? What's that spray that she puts on her face after? It's like a mist on it. It's like setting spray. It's right before you're done.
Starting point is 00:23:22 It's a little mist. It's like a hairspray but for makeup She has me stand up and then I step into the mist. Oh You got to do the bag thing. Yeah, the under eye thing is super refreshing. I'm in the back row You know, not well lit. I'm fine over here. It's not a big deal. I have glasses on you can't even see my eyes I don't don't do it for how you look do it for how it feels exactly Yeah, but there's like a line now of people waiting to do makeup and like I can see.
Starting point is 00:23:47 There has never once been a line. I've never a line. There's no. She'll come to you, Billy. Like, when it's your turn, she'll say, you're ready. I like my girl talk in the morning. I heard there's times over there. There has to be two.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Two makeup artists, depending on how many people are here. Is that true? We've had two at a couple times, yes. Yeah, when Dan's on. That's just for one person. One thing, and you just got a two person team. One for the rest of us. He's got a two person team.
Starting point is 00:24:10 He's got hair too. You don't know, because he wears those flappin' haps, but they're doing his hair ever. Yeah, many people don't know that. Dan actually has hair. It's not so into his head. It was nice, so Mike and I got to Chitchat with the makeup artist, Chess and Willa.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Yeah, I love the girl talk for coffee. Chitchat. Yeah, let's see that more often. I love the girl talk. I love the girl talk. For coffee. Yeah, let's see that more often. I was trying to get to your cynicism when it came to soccer. It's not cynicism. I'm telling you, I'm just, I'm trying to learn.
Starting point is 00:24:32 This is the thing is I'm being judged for asking legitimate questions. Well, coming up next, I'm gonna give you a history lesson. No. On Miami's biggest rival race. Anytime that sentence is said, whatever automatic skip, like,
Starting point is 00:24:46 I'm gonna get you a history of that. I'm gonna get you so pumped for Wednesday's match. Be careful between Orlando City and Inter Miami, you may buy tickets. Tickets are super expensive. I'm never gonna see that see. I'm never gonna go to these guys. That's another thing.
Starting point is 00:25:04 I was like, I saw Chris and Pablo were like, on the field the other day, well that was, we got invited to that. expense i'm never gonna see that see i'm never gonna go to the bank right i thought christian pop up like on the field the other day that was we got invited to that that was who invited you when you get into town you know who did text mic invited you that just wanted to make sure my whole crew was taking care of well i got an email separate of mic but believe we're not driving a broward that probably not yet
Starting point is 00:25:22 done lebert hard he said while you were off there while the connection was bad he had mentioned that uh... you have lost a lot of weight and that he admires that what got into you why did you decide i thought it was all i thought we enjoyed being about the money uh... uh... slurring again okay the connection is bad again unfortunately back to mag this okay back to mag this is going about as well. As you go, thank you, Billy, again, for laughing in my face.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Stugatz. Magnus. I have to ask you guys. Yes, we can hear you. Hello. Yes, sir, action. Hello. Action.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Man, I'm really sorry. This is literally the worst way to ever do this. This is burning my heart that this is happening. But if you could hear me, just understand, I'm sorry. This is the Dalabatar show with the Stugats. I wanna say that I agree with your soccer cynicism when it comes to one thing. Not cynicism.
Starting point is 00:26:20 All right, curiosity. Well, a lot of people are going to be curious about Messi's next match. It's against Inter Miami's rival. And they have a rival. They do have a rival. They have four wins when he got here.
Starting point is 00:26:34 So this mural that I alluded to before that's in win wood, that's welcoming Messi to the vice city, and it's done by one of the supporter groups, was defaced. It was vandalized in purple paint by presumably Orlando city supporters. And there was a message that said something to the effect of the state of still ours or something like that, which,
Starting point is 00:26:58 what? Yeah, something like that. It's salt. What a lame rivalry. It is. It is. I'm not still. It also seems fake. Like the people down here, let's go paint. It is, it is. I'm not, it also seems fake. Like the people down here, let's go paint it.
Starting point is 00:27:08 It's like, you know, that is strong UCF energy. Yes, it is. To me, it feels so damn contrived. I get it, we're supposed to hate Orlando because they're in the same state, but come on, they have Disney as a sponsor. Like, what are we doing? It's not, this isn't Millwall West Ham.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Your water's crappy. Your water tastes like the right water. What are we doing? Are we sure this is real? Like, check Leo's hands, there's like a purple paint or something on there. They're doing it themselves. This is the same part from the makers of the public's shop.
Starting point is 00:27:39 The hot mansion movie was a flop. Is it true that he said he's not playing someone told me this? So I'll just ask you instead of googling it. Is it true that he said he's not playing someone told me this, so I'll just ask you instead of Googling it. Is it true that he said he's not playing on artificial turf, and that a bunch of different teams are saying we're gonna put real turf for those games? No, it's not true that he's saying it.
Starting point is 00:27:55 It is true that that's assumed. And I think, you know, my Emmy would be dumb to try to out them out there, unless it's a hugely important game for their season, which in their league fixtures right now, pretty much every game that they're going to have left is important if they want to make the playoffs. But it is true that Messi shouldn't be playing
Starting point is 00:28:13 on artificial turf. You're asking the greatest soccer player of all time for this artificial surface. So Billy, what do you do there? Because if you're the opposing team, you're putting grass, Messi plays, you don't have as good a chance of beating them. So that's a thing, right?
Starting point is 00:28:25 You put the grass in you get a full you know pack-touse. That's yeah You're basically your play you're you're putting that in so that you get him to come and you get the money Yes, but you might lose right or you just decide like eh, we don't want him to play It could actually I would put turf on top of the turf. You're not playing buddy It could actually come down to gamesmanship like that, like you just alluded to, but the almighty dollar will reign. When it comes to Atlanta United, they play in the same stadium that the Falcons play in. And they're planning, they told me as much
Starting point is 00:28:55 that they're planning to clear out the upper deck and allow for a huge packed house. But Charlotte FC, which plays in both of stadium, I believe, it's both of them it is both a, they've already come out and said they're not going to install real grass that messy. If you want to play there, we'll have to play on the artificial. I'm sure them. I mean, you're hustling backwards, though, because you're not going to get to see, you're robbing that of your fan base, you're robbing that from your, your own pockets. So go for it. Yeah, but Mike, do they get packed houses anyway? No.
Starting point is 00:29:25 Are they gonna sell out? What, Charlotte? The other reason you would put the grass in is to get the crowd. Charlotte FC plays in an NFL facility, so they're not cap the way that other people are. And that leads me to another point about how I'm bothered by how some of this
Starting point is 00:29:40 intermiami stuff is reported. Because no doubt we'll head into our third consecutive match where someone like Darren Revelle will screen cap what the secondary market is and say how many tickets are available and try to laugh at tickets being available for $180 which by the way is more than 100% markup from what their price usually. I saw people drawing comparisons, you know you can get season tickets for $500 to buy in Munich and Manchester City. Why would you spend $800 on a solitary inter Miami ticket?
Starting point is 00:30:15 Couple of things at play. I don't know why it's messy, there's a novelty to it. Number two, this is a 21,000 seat stadium. My guess is you wouldn't have $500 seats in Byron Munich if they were limited to 20,000 people. That's why there's talk that if, in a Miami advance and yet another cup competition, the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, that they could play that game at Hard Rock Stadium. What does Lamar Hunt have to do with anything?
Starting point is 00:30:39 Lamar Hunt was one of the hugely influential figures in getting soccer off the ground in this country and popularizing. I think one of the hugely influential figures in getting soccer off the ground in this country and popularize. I think one of the founding league fathers in MLS. That's a cool competition because it's open to all levels of professional football here in the United States. I mean, soccer here. Is there anything we could say about soccer that that wouldn't be your reaction? Well, how come so many in-season tournaments?
Starting point is 00:31:02 That's all I'm asking. Like, just play a season, have your playoffs and whoever wins wins. They do. And additionally, there's other competitions going on. There's too many teams in this Lamar Hunt open cup. A hundred teams is insane. Yes. Anybody that's accredited with the US Soccer Federation can compete.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Oh, come on. It's actually pretty cool. They do this in England, the FA Cup, to the oldest cup competition there is. And you can have a rag tag group of plumbers, but as long as they're credited with the FA, they have an opportunity to play in the very same competition, the Titans of the game playing. It's actually pretty cool. And you have really cool. It's super cool. I don't understand like as they're so anti it, if you just really stop and think about it, it's more games. It's more competitions.
Starting point is 00:31:45 What more things for you to get excited about for your team, but what's most important to the players is if we're lifting, lifting trophy. There isn't hierarchy, though. I think in European soccer, too, what players prefer to win the most, but it's not like we would rather win Champions League than like the league cup. It's like the, it's just different. Yeah. I's like, it's just different. Like, there are different things that need different things. But think about it. Think if there was an NFL in Mexico
Starting point is 00:32:10 and they had some of the best players in the continent and the American NFL had the best players in the continent. Wouldn't you be like, wow, I wonder what would happen if they played each other? That's all this is. And that's it, yes. No, I'd be thinking, I don't want any Rogers to get hurt during a meaningless,
Starting point is 00:32:24 you know, he's a tortimata. It's not meaningless. It's it. Yes. No, I'd be thinking I don't want any Rogers to get hurt during a meaningless, you know, he's a Torto man. It's not meaningless. It's meaningless. The super balls all the Meaningless by your math. It's also kind of meaningless unless you assign meaning to them. You also get a spot. This is going to Really at Noi Billy. I'm not annoyed. If you win the league's cup. Yeah, which is this is the first year that they're doing it. And it's exclusively to the top flight. This is the last cup, but not the league championship. Correct. That's the leagues plural.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Oh, it's multiple leagues. It's Liga and Meckys from Mexico and MLS. They take the two teams, the two leagues and they put them in a World Cup style competition. All right. If you win this competition, if you lift the trophy at the end you clinch an automatic birth into the conquercaf champions league who's conquercaf conquercaf is a lot less
Starting point is 00:33:13 i mean leeks what are we doing here qualifying region here of what it's north america and the Caribbean island nations central america right central america and what does that get you if you win that you get an automatic birth into the club World Cup Which takes all the winners from all the qualifying Regents around the world and this is a competition in which you can really just have to order it until messy wins sounds like a unicorn convention and in 2025
Starting point is 00:33:42 There is going to be a formal FIFA club World Cup that is replacing the confederations cup. Wow. That'll be a warm-up for the World Cup here in the United States. It's not a warm-up for the World Cup because Andrew Miami is never going to play for the World Cup. No, it's a warm-up for the infrastructure. What? It's a warm-up for the host nation.
Starting point is 00:34:02 So if you win a thing now, you could get in this tournament in 2025. And Messi won't even be on the team anymore. Messi will be on the team in 2025. Man, we'll see. You don't play any turf or not. Well, he's that he shouldn't play on turf. Why? And teams like Seattle, teams like Atlanta, they acquiesce.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Whenever big teams like New England, they acquiesce to these requests. Whenever they have, they host these big summer international friendlies, they act we as to these requests. Whenever they host these big summer international friendly, they lay down the sod and they put the real grass in there because they know, well, it's fine for our professional soccer league here in the States. It is not up to the standard of true clubs. How come we don't hold in burps like we do farts?
Starting point is 00:34:43 I've been holding in a it forward since we got going. Yeah, like I just burped and I said to her, I just farted with my chest and I just, it's kind of acceptable to give off a little burp. You don't want to have an open mouth, you want it closed. I disagree actually. If I cover, if I could fart it, if I could, no I'd grow burp.
Starting point is 00:35:01 If you covered your butt, if you covered your butt when you farted, you know, if you cover your mouth, I feel like you're good burping in front of people. Like if I burp, but if I cover, no one comes out of your asshole and that's why it's, oh my, I take showers. I heard it, but it's your insight. I heard what's his name on smart list.
Starting point is 00:35:17 That's all, showers don't make your fart smell better. Jason Bayman, Jason Bayman makes it, he says it does. I heard Jason Bayman talking on the smart list, it's called smart list, so maybe that's why he was talking about this, but he was just like talking about, he was convinced that if you shower regularly, it makes your face. And why is the shower fart among the worst parts?
Starting point is 00:35:36 I don't think it is. The shower fart? Oh, the shower fart will stay in the shower forever. Shower fart, if you're going to be the fart. It gets caught up in the steam. It's a bad fart. It's a the scene. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart.
Starting point is 00:35:47 It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart.
Starting point is 00:35:55 It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart.
Starting point is 00:36:03 It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. It's a bad fart. Do you want to be in the poop chat? No, burp chat I would join. But the poop chat, you would break barriers. I'm good. Alright, we'll talk about it some more. Brian Williams is going to be in the studio and maybe he can sell it better than I can. So if Chris Fordy, would you have been upset? If it smelled, it's kind of gross.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Just talking about it right now. In polite. Also, guys, I ran into... You've been holding it apart for for like 20 years, Mike. I've needed a poo. I've needed a poo. Since it's our 15th year. So we had a break.
Starting point is 00:36:30 And we're at the L-sert. We love it here, but the hotel's getting busier. And I was waiting for an elevator to go down to pee. I've ever seen you so rattled, by the way. He is the elevator floor that I'm getting off of. I don't like these elevators. Dude, it took me seven minutes. I walked out.
Starting point is 00:36:49 I didn't get to poop. These elevators have a... They need to get over themselves. These elevators. They're terrible. It's like smart houses. This thing is just gonna take control of where they want us to go one day.
Starting point is 00:36:57 We're not gonna be able to get in. What? It's just a whole thing. What is it? Are these called firemen elevators? What is the name for the elevator system that we have here? It's not your traditional first come first serve. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:07 That's the word. But this is like the norm in New York. I have never seen these in New York. It's not really. Metal-Arch New York offices have the same kind of weird... I want buttons. I want to push a button when I get inside the elevator. I want first come first serve.
Starting point is 00:37:21 And that's it, right? And that's it. Just your floor and that's it. Now you realize it's put in there for our protection, right? Like having a key, having the hole to key up and put it in a coat. So our protection, so when I get in the elevator, I have no control over where it goes.
Starting point is 00:37:33 Until the robots take over. I mean, I understand you're right, but it doesn't feel like you can't follow you into the elevator who's not spitting at the hotel and just go up to your floor. But if they do follow me in, I don't have any button to push, like there's, I mean, I assume there is an emergency button in there, sorry.
Starting point is 00:37:47 So if you press the wrong button, which I've done several times, you have to, like literally, it takes five minutes to correct your error. Additionally, I have never gotten off on the wrong floor as much as I already have in this building. Oh, it's every floor looks the exact same. Because I just assume, because in the early days, if I put in destination, I'm the only person going to this destination and there are no stops
Starting point is 00:38:08 But now the busier it gets there are stops so I'm just in my phone Walking off the elevator and I'm not in my floor and it takes five minutes to correct now It's jarring when I see someone else in an elevator. I'm like whoa. What are you doing here? This is mine. It's like it's just weird. Usually it's something I'm normal. It's normal But it's just not now my ceilings, it's normal, but it's not now. High ceilings too, and the elevator. We are gonna have our own private elevator. What?
Starting point is 00:38:29 Yeah. It's back there. You can push buttons. Yeah. Does it have buttons? There is an elevator back there. I think it comes online in September, where we don't have to worry about this problem
Starting point is 00:38:40 that we have right now. If you get an elevator at a hotel, let's say, that requires your key, and someone says, Hey, hit my floor for me. Do you make them show you a key? No. I do. But you can't hit the floor for them here. There are no buttons inside the elevator. There are certain elevators, though, where you're holding a key out. If you do it quick enough, you can get my two to three floors. You had people ask you to just get in. Yeah. That hit 11 for me. And I'm like, show me your key. I would be scared to that too. That's how you show me your key.
Starting point is 00:39:08 I mean, otherwise they're not staying at the hotel. They can't go to floor 11. I don't want to be responsible for what happens on floor 11. I don't know these people. I also get insulted when I have the interface pop up after I apply my fob and I see all the floors that I don't have access to. I'm like, why don't I have access to these floors?
Starting point is 00:39:25 I should. Why don't they trust me? We only have access to like three floors. Kasia, I wanna pop in at 27. Yeah, let's see what's up there. I wanna see what's up there. See what's what? What do the hallways look like?
Starting point is 00:39:35 Who knows? Yeah, I've stayed here once before and I heard that they scraped off the FTX logo. Finally off the top of the, the new arena. It's nice. Cause say, a center. And I wanna. So, you can say a center. And I want to be able to take a look at that. Can't do that with just access to P.
Starting point is 00:39:49 Oh shit, scrub that. I shouldn't say where we are.
