Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. Nah, not quite. What's up? Sell my car in Carvana. It's just not quite the right time. Crazy coincidence. I just sold my car to Carvana. What? I told you about it two days ago. When you know, you know. You know? I'm even dropping it off at one of those sweet car vending machines
Starting point is 00:00:26 and getting paid today. That's a good deal. Great deal. Come on, what's your heart saying? You're right. When you know, you know. Sold. Whether you're looking to sell your car right now
Starting point is 00:00:36 or just whenever feels right, go to Carvana.com and sell your car the convenient way. Terms and conditions apply. Starting point is 00:01:15 Podcast. I wonder what Roz makes of all this. What do you think? What do you think she makes of all of this chaos here because it feels slightly disrespectful? Maybe she hasn't gotten the word yet. We don't know. Okay, well she was laughing about something but I don't think it's what Stugatz was saying. Ross on Wu Day is our WNBA playoff correspondent. She's got a new show and social channels here at Metal Arc focused on women's sports. I encourage you to follow Good Follow at Good Follow Show on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. And forgive me, Roz, for being offline this weekend and missing the games, but I did see a Spike Lee chirping at Kelsey Plum
Starting point is 00:02:00 in Brooklyn on Sunday when the Liberty were up 10 on the Aces so let's just and welcome I should I'm thankful for you being here let's let's show this to Roz so she could give us her opinion on what it is that's happening here because Spike Lee has gotten in the mix he's always got good seats and Kelsey Kelsey's not Kelsey's not afraid of anybody. No, not at all. I mean, first of all, oh my God, hi guys. This is my first time on your show, hi. Nice to see you. Welcome.
Starting point is 00:02:31 So cool, what's up man? No, actually this part of the game was what was sending me. Like I think Spike found the perfect foil in Kelsey Plum cause she liked to talk her mess. Spike wanna talk his mess. You know, like there's, there's some players who could do that too, and they just be quiet, but Kelsey going to chirp right back and you got to be careful about poking the bear and the
Starting point is 00:02:54 aces because they love a chip. They love us against the world. They're looking for any kind of edge. So that was really hilarious. I also do want to point out though, Spike has been really influential on Sabrina UNESCO for the though, Spike has been really influential on Sabrina Younescu for the Liberty, who's been great in these playoffs. He was actually wearing her jersey at the game and Sabrina loves the big lights. She likes when like
Starting point is 00:03:16 the guard, when, when Barclays is big and loud and spikes on the sidelines and it feels like New York City basketball and she's been great in these playoffs and very efficient and getting to the rim and I do think Spike has motivated her a little bit. Who do you who do you regard as the the league's best trash talkers like if you had to give a gold silver and bronze to don't mind going back and forth with anybody who do you who do you put on the top of the list? Kelsey's right up there in the Mount Rushmore. Like she, as far as young up and coming trash talkers, as far as OG legend trash talkers,
Starting point is 00:03:53 goat trash talkers, we're gonna put Diana Taurasi right there. So I think I'm gonna give the gold to DT, you know, on some goat, respectful. Then I'll say like the next up and comer, Big Mouth. And she'll say I'm a dog, like she don't like the next up and comer big mouth. And she'll say I'm a dog. Like she don't back down from nobody is Kelsey Plumb.
Starting point is 00:04:09 So she and Spike, it was hilarious. And I expect, I expect maybe we'll see more on Tuesday. And then I'm going to give the, uh, so that was silver. I'll give her bronze to a team. I think the like rowdiest talkiest, but definitely most physicalist team is the Connecticut Sun. And they all in your face and talking their mess. And probably it's like within there, probably Marina Maybree who's new and maybe Dijonais,
Starting point is 00:04:34 like cause Dijonais always strapping the seatbelt, Dijonais Carrington. So like that whole team is a little bit, they love to get messy. What did you think of the ending for Tarassi? And do you think it is the ending, as everyone seems to think? Or is she going to say,
Starting point is 00:04:52 no, I scored 21 points in the first game, I might have some more in me? I mean, she could squeeze something out. You know, I wish, Diana Tarassi is my goat, personally. That's my greatest player of all time. And do I think that she's like this past season allowed her to go out so triumphantly and like wildly celebrated?
Starting point is 00:05:13 There was a lot of storylines to pay attention to in this WNBA season. So it was hard. And you know, there's a lot of new fans and attention on the WNBA. So there's a lot of people who don't remember DT at her peak washing girls. Like she would wash all these girls in her peak. How she made you feel. She was Kobe-like with her killer instinct. So the game will miss her. She's transcended,
Starting point is 00:05:36 you know, eras of basketball. I mean, her wife spoke. I mean, you know, I would imagine, I don't know, man. I have no idea what DT is gonna do. Really, what just happened? What just happened? It sounded like you were gonna have an opinion and then you backed off an opinion because it seems like I thought the standing ovation was okay, that's the end.
Starting point is 00:05:57 It's gotta be the end. She's in her early 40s. Doesn't it stand to reason that that would be the end? She's one of those players that don't care what none of us think about her though. It's like, she's not doing it for our closure. Like if Diana goes this summer, or this off season, it's the summer now,
Starting point is 00:06:12 this off season and thinks, I'm not ready to just step away from this. I can still average 15 points per game. There's girls on my team that I'm way better than. She's gonna come back. She's not gonna care that it might be annoying, that people might think it's your time to go make room for other people. She don't care.
Starting point is 00:06:29 And that's what's really made her great. The fact that she don't care. The first round wasn't as interesting as I think people would have liked, right? Not as dramatic. You know, you got the four winners you thought you were gonna get. I thought so. Yeah, I actually, on the Good Follow Show, our host for the day, Logan, was asking Charlotte and I
Starting point is 00:06:51 to make predictions on the playoffs in the first round and the whole playoffs and I was like, well mine is boring. I had all the like, upper seeds advancing. So yeah. Can you tell us about the essay that you did on Nafisa Collier? Sure, yeah. Can you tell us about the essay that you did on Nafisa Collier? Sure, sure.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Yeah, you know, Nafisa Collier has always been a very nice player in the WNBA and has taken the steps accordingly. She came into an organization and franchise in the Minnesota Lynx that had Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles and Simone Augustins and Waylon and had won four championships every other year. And like she came in as that was closing out. Like imagine like a new star, you know, coming to join the Spurs, for instance, after all the years of domination and like you're trying to keep it going. And so like Sylvia Fowles was still there, but legacy players are waiting out and then a rebuild was on
Starting point is 00:07:46 the way and then a pandemic hit. And so within all of that disruption and changes in turnover, Nafisa was always a nice player. She won rookie of the year, you know, she made an all star. And then after that she had a baby, you know, and so she had her first child, Mila, her daughter. And so she missed almost an entire season right after that for maternity leave. She came back right at the end for like three or four games
Starting point is 00:08:10 to see Sylvia Fowles out. So now I feel like it was a gradual growth for her. It wasn't like come in and straight up domination. It wasn't like come to an organization and you are it. But then Sylvia Fowles retired, which many of us will remember Sylvia Fowle's Sue Bird, that big goodbye ceremony for those two over that season. And so now the team is hers.
Starting point is 00:08:33 She's got a full season now back since maternity leave. And so she started to really take ownership of the team as like their star player. And now this season, she came in second in MVP voting. She just won the defensive player of the year. You can, she's been in the first round. She was averaging 40 points per game. Why I called it a glow up.
Starting point is 00:08:55 It's more than just her basketball. Like she's got the basketball elevating to another level. She's got motherhood, like elevating to another level. This is another aspect of all that she is. And now she's got that mogul thing going where her and Brianna Stewart just launched the unrivaled league. Everybody's eyes are on it.
Starting point is 00:09:14 They pretty much are bringing in the top 30 players in the W. They got major venture capital backing for this new women's basketball league happening for three months in Miami starting starting january and they're giving equity to the players it's very much like her moment is right now like we're watching her arrival as mobile as mother as baller
Starting point is 00:09:35 baller basketball player and that happens over the course of the stars life like where they just really emerge and i think this is one of those moments. There's all sorts of stuff around the NBA, WNBA, that has some cultural sparks in it. So the crowd in Indiana during the first round where there was some racist abuse, a fan mocking a player's eyelashes, this woman here wearing a shirt that says,
Starting point is 00:10:00 ban nails while wearing Edward Scissorhands, MAGA hats in the crowd. I wanna play you some video of Caitlin Clark responding to all of this with a preface from what our friend Jamel Hill wrote on Twitter, quote, Caitlin Clark didn't ask for any of this and attaching her character to the ugly behavior of some of the people who call themselves her fans.
Starting point is 00:10:21 They aren't her fans, but people who have weaponized her to express their hatred of black and LGBTQ plus women is wildly unfair." End quote. Let's roll the video here. As one of the biggest stars in this league, what are your thoughts on the things not only your teammates have to endure, but just the entire league and obviously you spoke on this before, but just now that you're coaching your team we're talking about it as well. Yeah, it's definitely upsetting. I don't think there's nobody in our league should be facing any sort of racism, hurtful, disrespectful, hateful comments and threats. You know those
Starting point is 00:10:53 aren't fans those are trolls and it's a real disservice to the people in our league, the organization, the WNBA. But there are a lot of really good fans whether they've been fans for 20 plus years or whether they're new fans in our league. I think continuing to uplift this league in a very positive light is the best thing that we can do because... Be so tired of this if I were her already and it's just sort of started. Your thoughts there? Well, you know, I identified early in the season that I personally felt there were people who were not fans of the WNBA using the WNBA
Starting point is 00:11:38 as a tool for division to further agendas on whatever side you're on. And, you know, I think as far as Caitlin Clark, when asked, she has answered very clearly that she doesn't, you know, support or believe in any hurtful, derogatory, discriminatory type comments to any group of people or persons. Has she been proactive about that?
Starting point is 00:12:04 No, but upon being asked, she has stepped up to speak that way. I think Caitlin Clark is in a really interesting and tough situation where one, she had a fantastic, terrific WNBA season, full stop. Like forget even rookie season. Like she had one of the great seasons of any player period. And then of course, probably, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:28 one of the top rookie seasons we've seen. I think she's going to be one of the best or very elite players in this W. She's absolutely that girl. And she's lived up to the expectations in some ways she exceeded it. Do I expect, and think about the turnaround. Like she's had such a quick turnaround
Starting point is 00:12:45 from college basketball right into WNBA basketball. It's been explosive. Her light, her attention. Do I expect a 22 year old to have all of the right words and answers and strategies for racial tensions in America? I don't and I'm not sure that that's necessarily fair. And I think more what I'll be paying attention to is. This off season where she has proper time to reflect on everything that's just happened to her. So much is happening to Caitlin. Like she's trying to learn the plays. She's trying to play basketball.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Things are happening at her. And so I think she needs some time to just digest her college season, her WNBA season, do some time reflecting, perhaps educating, perhaps working with people to devise a strategy around perhaps like how, if she wants to participate as a vocal ally for her teammates who are mostly black and lesbian and go under attack. If she wants to step up in that way and set a tone for what's acceptable in her fan base
Starting point is 00:13:50 and how to do it, I'll be paying more attention to her in this off season and after it next year. I think we need, I do believe that Kaitlyn deserves some grace this season. And I thought when asked, she stepped up and spoke against anything that was hateful. that Caitlin deserves some grace this season. And I thought when asked, you know, she stepped up and, you know, spoke against anything that was hateful. Rod, we really enjoyed the time with you.

This is the best version of him What Stu gots now you are yeah Feels good. Starting point is 00:16:47 Last year, he came off the bench and led his team on an epic run to the playoffs. He left that team and signed with a new team. And yesterday, when that team needed him, he was there, standing still and looking as good as ever. He strolled into the game, went 16 of 26 for 168 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions, and beat Mike Tomlin. Why? Because that's what champions do. And Dan, just like that, make no mistake about it. Joe Flacco is back. You saw that. It's amazing. It really is.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Tell me Cleveland wouldn't be better off if he was still quarterbacking. Watson didn't want him there. So they pushed him out. Yep. Mets Braves double header. Combined with a pair of Monday Night Football games. Greatest Sports Monday in the history of sports. You excited?
Starting point is 00:17:49 Baseball starts today. Twinbill. Who's interested in that dolphin game? I mean, it's a big game. Double Twinbill, Baseball Twinbill and Monday Night Football Twinbill. Couple of twinbills cutting it up. Twinbill Twinbills. What do you mean who's interested in the dolphin game? baseball twin bill and Monday night football twin couple of twin bills cutting it up when bill twin bills Mm-hmm. What do you mean? Who's interested in the dolphin game twin?
Starting point is 00:18:09 Twin bills what I think it's twins bill Or twins bills or is it twin bills? I'm glad we don't have twin bills around here I'm glad there's only one everybody else in the division lost and Miami's got a primetime game When do they ever let you down in this spot? It's a big game though. I mean get the two and two Pro bowlers starting right back in the mix Dante diva chenzo your best days are behind you Dan was right. There's something just a little off in Kansas City.
Starting point is 00:18:46 They're 4-0. You said it. Just agreeing with you. Julius Randall. Congratulations on going back to being Julius Randall. Steve Spagnola needs 15 minutes to figure out your offense. Spags. Did you see that yesterday? It was amazing. to get to this. Mojave you guys are alleging that I need to see and need to know about it. I still haven't talked about it. We still haven't talked about it and I
Starting point is 00:19:09 don't know what you guys are talking about. Hey, Julius, you know what the M in Minnesota stands for? It stands for the M. Minnesota stands for the M. Minnesota stands for the M. Minnesota stands for the M. Minnesota
Starting point is 00:19:23 stands for the M. Minnesota stands for the M. Minnesota stands for the Julius, you know what the M in Minnesota stands for? It stands for man. I was living in New York and now I'm living in Minnesota. You know what it does it stand for? Mecca. Carl Anthony towns. Welcome to the There are certain places he can go and not be bothered. Yes as a seven-footer. Yes, but those days are behind him because now Mecca, okay. Yeah, I mean it changes everything. I mean he was a pretty important college basketball player Did you feel bad for Frank Beamer? No, why would I feel bad for Frank? Whenever they lose I feel bad for him. I mean It's Frank Beamer Anyway I mean, it's Frank Beamer. Anyway, Cam Ward, some advice, enough bullshit.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Protect the football, you're welcome. Hey, sloppy with the football, he's too cute. I mean, that is the one criticism you can have of him. It's the only one. Too cute. No, he turns the ball over. He can be prone to turnovers. He's very confident.
Starting point is 00:20:49 He is very confident. He called himself the best player in the nation. And he believes that, I believe that he believes that. If I'm gonna have turnovers, I want it from a player who's got too much confidence about how good he is instead of the one who doesn't have enough, and that's why he's turning it over.
Starting point is 00:21:04 Stash this away in the Something the Ponder file. Will JJ McCarthy ever take a snap for the Minnesota Vikings? No need to discuss now, just stash it away for a rainy day. Sam Darnold, man. All they needed was Justin Jefferson. It helps. And a bunch of Packer turnovers. And a couple of missed Packer field goals as well. You needed a lot actually in that game. They put up 28-0 and came very close to coughing it up.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Totally fair. But he's the MVP right now. No, he's not. What do you mean? Daniels is the MVP right now. Four games in. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:40 It's the most impressive start a rookie quarterback has ever had in terms of completing all of his passes. I get it. Sam Darnold's been ridiculous though. I understand what you're saying. Jaden Daniels is great. Is it really the wild card if the twins aren't getting bounced on a Wednesday? Mike Norvell should spell his last name with four L's. That guy. Did he turn down Alabama? Did Mike Norvell turn down Alabama? That was the word. Oh my goodness. Georgia, do it against Alabama. I was told
Starting point is 00:22:12 with the expanded playoffs, these games would feel like they didn't matter. Alabama and Georgia didn't get the message. You could expand the playoff to 64 teams and Alabama and Georgia would still matter. Wait a minute. What happened? You told everyone that. Wow, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:22:32 It's almost like he doesn't write these. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Alabama receiver Ryan Williams was born in 2007. Jesus Christ. Twitter is older than Ryan Williams. So is the iPhone. So are the first three Fast and Furious movies. Nick Saban hadn't coached a game at Alabama yet.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Hank Aaron still had the home run record. He's young then is what you're saying. 2007 dad. Yeah, it's not very long ago. Joe Flacco. Savvy. Our show is older than that. Oh my god. There's no way Michael Irvin was on cocaine. Reckless. The thing we should be most concerned about from the Miami Virginia Tech game is Michael Irvin. Has anyone heard from him?
Starting point is 00:23:35 I sent him a text yesterday. I did. I told him he looks great. He does. And that's what you do to him here? You send him text. It's my way of making sure he's okay. You just wanted to get him on the show
Starting point is 00:23:46 or you just wanted a response to make sure that Michael's okay? How does this work with you? Anytime that somebody's on television, do you reach out just because famous people fascinate you? Yeah. You just want to be close to fame? I want to make sure Michael's okay.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Playmaker. If you don't want Colorado in the playoffs, you don't like sports. Mike Ryan, Mike Ryan, you want Colorado in the playoffs? I mean, it's great theater wherever they go. I will say incredibly impressive. 14 and a half point dog to thoroughly dominate UCF there. A bit of a stunner. It made me question everything about UCF's defense to be dragged like that. Oh, I'm very quick to criticize Colorado when I think it's time to. They really impressed the hell out of me.
Starting point is 00:24:35 They got tremendous talent. Yeah. Michigan left the back door wide open. And you know what scooted in, Dan? A little golden gopher. What was that, 27, 24? Oh, it hurts. It was the put the town on alert play.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Put the town on alert. There are 17 year olds playing with and against 28 year olds. College football is a mess. Also, never been better. It's amazing, it's what it is. the best of both with and against 28 year olds. College football is a mess. Also, never been better. It's amazing. It's what it is. What is happening? We'll find out tonight if the dolphins can stay in the
Starting point is 00:25:20 Huntley. Oh, come on. Deserve the better fate. The Packers are better without Jordan Love. You know, everyone, no one made a big deal about this contract. He, I believe he's 9 and 11 in 20 career starts for the Packers. Again, you're going to do wins as the quarterback stat. What else do you use? Losses? Quick 7 and a half minute morning on this bed. Three to go mm-hmm well now I can't allow a page
Starting point is 00:25:49 That's a lot of pages That's a lot of pages you know I Taylor was busy over the weekend He was traveling had trouble getting back here. I wrote him out that Taylor added a bunch of unfunny ones And I took them all out That's what happened. I mean being honest. He would tell you the same thing. I don't think I Can't do this. I can't do this for 20 more minutes. I can't it seems like Doug Peterson is seeing how far he could push it Before he gets fired
Starting point is 00:26:20 It's fair Young Hoku has been getting it done for years down there in Atlanta That's not how you pronounce it. How do you pronounce it? young way Now a Taylor put That is not fair that is what young way coup That is not fair what you just did to Taylor. That is not Taylor's fault. Atlanta is north of us, I realize that,
Starting point is 00:26:49 but when you mention Atlanta, you have to say down there in Atlanta, even if you live south of Atlanta. Put it on the poll, please, that lebitard show, Juju, who lives in Atlanta. When you're in Atlanta, do you have to say down there in Atlanta, even if you're south of Atlanta
Starting point is 00:27:09 Dan you know what the K and Q stands for? I do not. Clutch. Zach Wilson, Revenge Game. Carolina, here's an idea. Get Andy Dalton the defense. Jets, the more things change the more they stay the same. I hate them former jet quarterbacks headed into tonight's action our Seven and oh eight no if you want to include Joe Flacco I hate them we lost to a team that had negative passing yards at the half I hate them the matchups of one lost teams is the new matchup of undefeated teams in college football. It is, makes sense?
Starting point is 00:27:50 Because undefeated teams can lose and still get in. One lost teams, you lose, season's over. How about that? A battle of one lost teams. Oh, exciting. Where was it? Lucy, how do you feel about that analysis from Stugatz? I'm so tired. I don't even have it in me today. It's just being in airports, right? It's just 15 hours in airports.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Yeah, we had four canceled flights this weekend for me. Hey Jets, the hard count is to draw the other team off sides. Alabama, Georgia, the rare tale of two halves with a team that won the second half, still lost the game. That is rare. I know, thank you. It is. But Lucy knew, she had a hunch and she knew.
Starting point is 00:28:44 I texted my friends. She doesn't care. She texted her friends. Thank you. It is. But Lucy knew, she had a hunch and she knew. I texted my friends. She doesn't care. She texted her friends. The only reason James Franklin didn't lose that game is because Illinois wasn't ranked high enough. Did you just put an S on Illinois? Illinois, the Illini.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Hard S. They're not making sure-handed punt returners like Phil McConkey anymore. Put it on the poll, Juju. Are they making sure-handed punt returners like Phil McConkey anymore? What a catch in the end zone. anymore put it on the pole juju are they making sure handed punt returners like Phil McConkey anymore what a catch in the end zone the only undefeated team in the AFC is the Chiefs Baker I love you but make no mistake about it if he
Starting point is 00:29:19 called Tampa tomorrow and said he was coming back and told them to trade you they would there's two McConkies yeah Wow Phil and lad not related though what I know lads the one that had the good catch lad with two D's you weren't talking about Phil who played in the 80s well you said Phil well I sure handed punt returner did you see all the fumbles yesterday? Punt returners not sure-handed Phil McConkey never dropped a punt He didn't gain a yard, but he never dropped a punt We have to we have to try and feel the punt as a show
Starting point is 00:29:58 I don't think any of us would actually catch the football that is so hard to do would actually catch the football. That is so hard to do. You're right. It is dropping straight out of the clouds. There's people running at you. With a terrible spin. I'm not even talking about the people. But imagine that.
Starting point is 00:30:14 I'm not even talking about the people. I'm talking about simply the punt. A giant punt is what I'm saying that nobody on our show could catch. Army, four and O. Navy, four and O. Go ahead and circle that one if our show could catch. Army, four and O. Navy, four and O. Go ahead and circle that one if you haven't already. Thank you for your service.
Starting point is 00:30:31 I mean, the Army-Navy game is gonna be massive this year. It is back! I think Mike said Army's gonna make the playoff. I think Mike predicted that. I predicted Memphis, but now you attach college football playoff stakes to Army-Navy and that is a must attend. Army had over 400 yards of offense against Temple this week. Almost 500. Not your father's Army. Not your father's Army. That's for sure. Also the third straight game in which they played a team
Starting point is 00:30:59 called the Owls. Really? Really. You know what? It is your great-grandfather's army because there was a day when army There was a day when an army would kick your ass in football. Yeah, University of Chicago is next they're coming back It's just a hundred years ago. That's all that was a hoop played FAU rice Rice. I thought you were going to beat me too with your... I thought he was going to give himself the Hakeem Nicks laugh again. It is time now for a weekly update on...
Starting point is 00:31:32 Of course. On Derrick Henry's 87 yard touchdown run, he reached the top speed of 21.29 miles per hour. What the hell? Speaking of hell, Ar miles per hour. What the hell? Speak it to hell. Orp Riles. Dan, those are the weekend observations. I think that they said that Derek Henry, that one of the few people to be caught
Starting point is 00:31:56 or timed at that speed has been Tyreek Hill. Like there haven't been a lot of people in the league timed at that speed. I'm telling you it's's crazy to see someone that side running, so that side's running away from the secondary. Not since Arch Manning. It doesn't make any sense. I've got a...
Starting point is 00:32:14 He was pulling away from Damar Hamlin, who had a rough game last night, but honestly is probably more worthy of the Comeback Player of the Year award this year than he was last year, which he didn't win. Can you give me the Stat of the Day music please Billy because I've got a Stat of the Day for you guys as we mentioned Joe Flacco and the idea that Anthony Richardson went down again with an injury and the next thing you know Mike Tomlin is losing for the first time this season. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Play whatever you want and I'll just give a stat of the day anyways Get off my plane
Starting point is 00:33:08 Jimmy Butler, this is not the stat of the day I will wait for Billy to see if he can find it Jimmy Butler didn't show up at media day or people gonna make a big deal out of that because We were all waiting for the costumes, which I can't imagine that Pat Riley likes very much I have not asked Pat Riley about this, but I'm just assuming in general demeanor that that's not something that he loves. Jimmy Butler didn't show up
Starting point is 00:33:30 and they're saying travel issues. He apparently did finally get in town, but he's been delayed. He's gonna arrive to the building later this afternoon, but that means his annual routine of dressing up for Media Day. We were all wondering what it would be and so far he's dressed up as a DMP
Starting point is 00:33:47 because he's not a media day. He was in Paris over the weekend in his fashion week and he was at a PSG game. So they're saying travel issues. I'm sure Pat Riley loves that as well. White woman, white, white, white, white, white. Start of the day. white, white, white. I start off the day. I start off the day.
Starting point is 00:34:07 Oh, there we go. Ah, little switcheroo. Start off the day, start off the day, and this is the start of the day. Start off the day, start off the day, and this is the start of the day. Start off the day, start off the day, and this is the start of the day, start of the day, it is the start of the day.
Starting point is 00:34:36 From at Volodis on blue sky, losses this season in football combined, Stugats combined. Justin Fields, Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold have combined to lose two games. Deshaun Watson has lost three. The Cleveland Browns have an enormous problem. Their defense was championship worthy last year and their only giant problem is that they have a quarterback who is taking up a ton of their salary cap, has an enormous amount of guaranteed money, and they're not going to be any good at offense. And I'm telling you, Stugats, we have not seen in this sport a lot of things that look like this
Starting point is 00:35:29 He can't play anymore. Like it's not it's crazy. We can go ahead and call it It's we've got enough of a sample. We don't have to wait around Thinking that he's going to figure something out He may figure it out, but he's not gonna figure it out with that team. Like that's I don't know what they do. You can't get out from under that contract. There's not much you can do. I mean, this is a guy who I don't know three years ago was considered one of the five best quarterbacks in the NFL and the guy you
Starting point is 00:36:00 probably wanted to build a franchise around and now we can't figure out how to play football. It is crazy. The offense has been bad for over a year now. But only when he plays. It's not, it's not. Yeah, they had flat goal issue, they were fine. I mean, they obviously, they miss Chubb.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Like it's an important piece, but they're not going to recover from this. Offensively, they feel to me like the Patriots. Like they're not going to recover from this. Offensively, they feel to me like the Patriots. Like they're not gonna, they may win games here and there, but it's not something that can be overcome giving this much guaranteed money to a quarterback who stinks. A lot has been made about officiating.
Starting point is 00:36:39 We'll say, there wasn't like an 80 yard touchdown to Amari Cooper that got pulled off the board. That was a terrible call that went against Cleveland there But I'm really fascinated by because as soon as the Cooper thing didn't go their way You knew that the legion of people that for whatever reason feel compelled to go on a public social media app and Just cape up for Deshaun Watson like say what you will Yeah, the offensive line has been bad. Is he a contributing factor there?
Starting point is 00:37:07 Is he making the offensive line look worse? Some have said. The fact is the results haven't been there. But one thing I can never understand for the life of me, why do you feel the need to defend this at every turn? There've been plenty of other quarterbacks in Cleveland that would love the same amount of excuses being made. I just don't understand the mental makeup of someone that says, no, you guys are wrong. Here's why Deshaun Watson is good. And let me explain the ways,
Starting point is 00:37:35 guys, he hasn't been good. If you spent every single one of your football Mondays, defending ways as to why he's been good, as you it's been years but if we isolate this and we put it out to public consumption it'll be littered with comments of people that feel the need with their avatar attached to be like stop being mean to D'Shawn, D'Shawn's not that bad he's not the problem what has he done to deserve this from you? He hasn't been good, fact, full stop. We haven't seen it. Once he starts being good, keep up for your guys, your team. I understand. I made a decision. I walked away from that team. You don't have to. But week in, week out to be like, what am I going to do today? Defend Deshaun Watson. It's whack! Now's a good time to remember where the story of tequila started.
Starting point is 00:38:22 In 1795, the first tequila distillery was opened by the Cuervo family. And 229 years later, Cuervo is still going strong. Family owned from the start, same family, same land. Now's a good time to enjoy Cuervo, the tequila that invented tequila. Go to Cuervo.com to shop tequila or visit a store near you.
