Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. This is the Don Levertor Show with the Stugat's Podcast. Hey Greg, if you hear it and you realize we have you dead to rights don't stop talking and cut yourself short to make it look like you're You're on to it. I mean ski but at that point succumb to the bit and just power through but when you hear the the horn The power through we're off the air right no what we fade your mic now Just keep the audience here's the horn if you get caught just keep going with your I know but but but it's school me here if you get caught okay
Starting point is 00:00:50 no that's good for such a nearer the car no what I'm asking is this and keep pushing because it's way funny or that way I know look here it's me explaining the show when I hear the horn yeah just in the horn ends is the show still on. No, we're in charge of when we're on. Yes, this is not like radio. Okay. Yeah, you're galloping. So I mean, right? Yeah, stop. Don't stop. You see when the horn hits the commercial start. All right, the point is I'm galloping across the finish line.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Mm-hmm. Had the horn waited two more seconds. Yeah, right. It would have been a real finish. But it also re-empted you. And you're also reverse engineering this two more seconds. You were not going to finish it with a gymnastics dismounting. Yeah, it was. You have. One of the few guys we've been doing recently,
Starting point is 00:01:38 that's actually funnier on audio. So don't rob the audio. Listen, hi. My ankle hurt like Tyree Kill. I was about to land like Carrie Strugged. Yeah. It was gonna be a perfect landing. I was gonna dismount like crazy.
Starting point is 00:01:53 The numbers were gonna go up. 9.8, you know, and that's how close it came. Thank you. You wanna try a gander? Yeah, yeah. You'll get more chances. We are now 11 minutes and 17 seconds from the ending of this segment. Yeah, yeah. You'll get more chances. We are now 11 minutes and 17 seconds from the ending of this segment.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Count it down. See if you can remember that. Do you have a back in my day today? Oh, not today. It's the holidays day. Exactly. And you know what? I was going to have one next week.
Starting point is 00:02:16 You're fairly useless today. I was going to have one next week, but there's a rumor about a turkey off. What? Happening next week. What would I hear? Oh. Between where you belong? Are you in my soul?
Starting point is 00:02:26 A turkey off between Roy. The rumor. And you where? Where are we doing this? I believe it's going to be in this very studio. I'm going to be lighting a propane tank right for I said. No, no, don't do that. Right indoors.
Starting point is 00:02:39 The answer. Going up like flames. Like flames are in flames. No, don't't specify the video might get pulled by you to Sounds threatening, but why? Why can't actually we're fine you have a week to do a back in my day though. Why would that stop you? Well, you mean next week There's a lot going on There's a whole method to his turkey. Yeah, there's a lot going on
Starting point is 00:03:04 It's not just the actual lighting of the propane and the dipping of the bird, there's a whole preamble. There is pump and circumstances. Yeah, there is. And a lot more than that. You off that turk. Correct. Jeremy Poo, I am going to get to your top five.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Oh yeah. Your top five payments in baseball, strange payments in baseball. Jeremy Poo, is that a nickname? Or, that's right. Oh, in it. But before I do that, Mike Ryan has some words for Janis Anttitacompo.
Starting point is 00:03:40 That loser. Now look, I know that we shouldn't be calling people names. So this is a matter of opinion. He displays the behavior of a loser and you guys keep feeding this monster. You did it when you started putting sappy music behind his post game about, you know, these are just failures, just steps towards success. Okay, well, he had another opportunity in the in-season tournament, a semi-final. However, you rate it, it still has some value. And it's still something that matters, especially to some of his teammates. So Bobby Portis, it was reported, chewed out his entire team. And then someone presumably Damien Lillard fed it all to the median.
Starting point is 00:04:16 We found out a word-for-word transcript of what Bobby Portis said to his teammates because defensively they were a disaster against Indiana. Understand Indiana makes a lot of teams look that way, but this was a very good Milwaukee Bucks team, especially defensively. And they have lost that. They've lost some pieces and they gained a Damien Lillard who is as a point of attack defender, not at his peak, not that he was ever great at that. So Damien Lillard in our minds stuck around Portland, even though he didn't do much winning, got to a Western conference final,
Starting point is 00:04:46 we all still trust him and we think that guy's a killer because of what he does famously in the clutch. Yannis does not have that, despite having an NBA finals MVP to his name. Having one of the great improbable performances after hyper extending his knee in a final set, none of us really paid all that much attention to. He still got it to his name,
Starting point is 00:05:07 but he also lost in the first round as an immense favorite to the Miami Heat in embarrassing fashion. And I know he got hurt in one of those games. Dude was on the floor for three of the four losses. So in season tournament season of expectation, they bring in Damien Lillard. You say, hey, Milwaukee's probably missing that little killer instinct there. They bring in they bring in Damian Lillard. You say, hey, Milwaukee's probably missing that little killer instinct there. They bring in a killer in Damian Lillard.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Surely we're going to see a different Yannis. After Yannis gets eliminated, he tweets out this. Sometimes the dice just don't roll your way. Is his brand being a huge favorite and losing all the time and spinning it into IDC. What is this? No, it's IST. I don't care. What is this monster that we've enabled?
Starting point is 00:05:56 This is not, I mean, I'm a child of the 90s, Dan. I saw Michael Jordan. If Michael Jordan saw that kind of attitude, I saw Kobe Bryant with Mamba mentality. This is what we're rolling out. There is an unstoppable force out. You know, sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles. It's perspective. I'm, perspective, his perspective should be, I need to find a way to stop losing as an immense
Starting point is 00:06:21 favorite and stop giving off that I'm totally okay with it. Because I think the math has changed for Yannis. Now it's time that we're judging you against the all-time greats. You just got knocked out in the first round by a fledgling Miami Heat Team that made an improbable run propelled by an immense upset that I think was probably the biggest upset in the history of that sport. And your first crack at a trophy. You get knocked out by, you know, Obey topping and his all shucks.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Show me something. We had the sets to success with the failure already. And then we're just going to be like, oh man, I don't care. You just got chewed out by Bobby Portis and your first instinct from that is to go tweet a dice emoji What are you doing? What be the guy what he's doing is in the game you're criticizing him for he was 37 points 10 rebounds on 13 of 19 shooting Okay, be an alpha defender be better. I know that's great. That's a great sat line hard to ask for more
Starting point is 00:07:21 No, ask for more stop losing Stop being okay with losing. How about this? This is the first thing. The will tackle the losing in you. Stop being okay with it. Please. And I know that there's a whole shift in attitude and how... I mean, he got very popular. Dude sold a lot of merchandise. Because of that one clip in the post game, where a bunch of people that maybe didn't mesh with Kobe
Starting point is 00:07:45 Mamba mentality and Michael Jordan were like, hey hooray and No and a lot of people that probably didn't know the price of that series. We're like, yeah cool. All right No, just stop being okay with it because it's not okay for a top dog in that sport to be like that when it comes to losing It's just not it may be It may be cute on a bumper sticker, it may get you a lot of casual fans that might follow you on IG. But that's loser behavior, man. Mike, I think Yannis is like a river and rivers know this. There is no hurry. We shall get there someday. Are you quoting? That's funny to poo, yeah. poo there? No, no, I meant are you quoting shit there? Go to the penalty box. Get out of Jeremy poo poo. But I feel like, what has happened to sports
Starting point is 00:08:26 because I see you looking at me and it looks like I'm doing a thing and we, sports media has become perverse in that this is the hot take. Stop being okay with losing. Like, come on. Like, we were all there. You were the loser.
Starting point is 00:08:41 This one had been the entire show 10 years from now and now it's just like, yeah, no. Cool, great role model for my kids. I'm like, no, a winner, be a winner. You want him ripping the team on social? No, I don't want him ripping the team on social. I don't want him being okay with losing on social. I don't want him on social.
Starting point is 00:08:59 I want him doing what they mean, Lillard did. Leakin' out, I want him doing what Bobby Portis did. Why is Bobby Portis lighting the fire under your asses in that locker room? Why isn't it Yannis? You're just not that guy? Okay, well I'm gonna, I'm, when history reflects back on you,
Starting point is 00:09:16 I'm gonna know you're not that guy. And it's gonna change my opinion of you. Cause when you do have success, like you did in the NBA finals, it's not gonna stick with me as much because you're not building a narrative for me as this serial this serial winner this great mentality this sportsman Damien Lillard's gonna get that attached to him if he wins you're not man for the love of God be less okay with losing you wanted to hurt y'all is the way it hurts Bobby Porter's and the reason it doesn't because I think Bobby Porter's cares too much, okay? I think he needs to relax.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Actually, Mike, it's regular season game 18. That's why Yana's doesn't care about it. I know you love the in season tour. I know you think it's different and I understand what it is you're saying. But to Yana's, that is 18th, the 18th game of 82 this season. That's all it is. The box have, the box have serious defensive problems when you compare their numbers now to what they used to be. This was a team that was a hard-nosed defensive team. They have a cheat code.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Janice is an incredible player. He's the most gifted defender that physically that we may be have ever seen. Can you tell me the origins of hard-nosed? Is that a boxer's punch? Why is someone hard-nosed? What does it mean to be hard-nosed? I know what it means, but what are the origins? You are our words expert, Greg.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Do you know where hard-nosed originates from? I would have guessed it's boxing-related. Why is it so? Why aren't you, they're cheering me on. Why aren't you going raw cheering me on okay here's going wrong wrong might get his ass this the we're we've changed first of all i find it sort of refreshing that not every athlete has to have the macho
Starting point is 00:10:56 uh... speak when it comes to we have to win and we i'm sorry i like the alternative opinion you would like the rational uh... perspective of that the other thing is this live i'm hearing a lot of outrage considering the box have the third best record in the nba it's a quarter into the season and the odds say that yana still has a great chance to win his second nba title
Starting point is 00:11:18 perhaps you're okay with a participation trophy as well no i'm not i'm okay with a guy who's one of the best players in the league with a great chance to win his second championship. Although I do love the Zagaki. Believe me, I love that. He does need to win a second. I'll go there with you. Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:37 He needs to start winning more than just the one that he won. If he wants to be an all-time generational player, he honestly needs to walk away from his career with like five or six titles. I mean, call me a little bit. I just want to know my guys care. And he just lost the championship last week and he doesn't seem to care.
Starting point is 00:11:52 In season tournament, please, you know what the banners should be for the in season tournament in NAPKIN? A little thing, the size of a NAPKIN, they should put it. The Lakers win 17 real NBA championships. It should be a NAPKkin hanging in the corner of your room. A more in passion season. How are you more in passion against the winner than the loser?
Starting point is 00:12:13 No, but Mikey's right because you know what the Lakers and LeBronica did. They're going to make that banner bigger than all the other manners. They shouldn't even allow a banner for that turn. It's hard to see the made up event. If it's a napkin, people won't be able to see it. That's my point. Put it on the poll, please, at Labatar Show, should the Lakers in-season banner be a cocktail napkin?
Starting point is 00:12:33 It should. One that I've used. But it has the ring from your phone. What did you use it for? Oh, my nose. But I didn't use it. Wow, really? So it's not here.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Can we get a cocktail napkin from outside? So I can see Greg Coney give me what it is I used it for. Oh my nose. Wow, really? Yeah. So it's not here. Can we get a cocktail, Mafton, from outside, so I can see Greg Cote give me what it is that that would look like, because I was thinking that perhaps a cocktail, Mafton, that you had used as a coaster. It's particularly disrespectful to have blown your nose into the Lakers Championship banner. If you win the in season two, you'll improve the on-lebertar show with the Stugats, gamble on by Graphkins.
Starting point is 00:13:13 That should be easy. He's coached the perfect. He's coached the coach. He's coached the coach. The maximum. There you go. You made me so happy just now. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa out and hitting the one or two notes up that kind of thing and you know it's just giving us finger guns and leave it.
Starting point is 00:13:47 Baby! You should listen to the Great Cody Show podcast because that's all we do for 55 minutes a week is just say catch phrases. We even make songs about them and you know it is a song for crying out loud. That's great. Hopefully that's a sui nominee for best song. And you know it baby and you know it stoo gots This is the down lebertar show with this to got
Starting point is 00:14:24 Surrounded by losers I'm surrounded by losers That's... That's... Surrounded by losers. I'm surrounded by losers. What? What? It's just, I mean, I mean, come here. Come here, get in front of a microphone. I'm surrounded by losers and I need your help. Are you on air now? Yeah, yeah, we're on air.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Yeah, I need your help with this because I keep asking, I asked the two youngest people, I'm like, you're with me, right? He's got to care a little bit more. And then I got like a soliloquy, I'm just like, I can't, I can't help with this because I keep asking, I asked the two youngest people, I'm like, you're with me, right? He's gotta care a little bit more. And then I got like a soliloquy, and I'm just like, I can't listen to this anymore. I told them just straight up, shut up, stop talking to me, losers.
Starting point is 00:14:54 So, a mean. Am I right? Should Janice change at least the public perception of his mentality? I am always a proponent of people caring and acting like they care. I didn't like it when Yokeish did that stuff or go, do I have to go to parade? I don't like any of that.
Starting point is 00:15:14 I'm too cool for this stuff. So if your point is he should act like he cares about losing, then I'm with you there. If your point is he's a loser, I can't get with that one man. Fair enough. You got to have the pivot though. Two for two. Well, it was the pivot because Mike had us,
Starting point is 00:15:32 I think until Dan gave us the stat line to which I told Mike during the break here, you have to come back at Dan with score less than 37 and cry. That's it. I mean, that's all my wants. Go 11 for 27 with 22 points. And just, but just be devastated. Just be, be, be Bobby Porton.
Starting point is 00:15:52 So just to be clear on what the behavior's allowed to be, it's your, your saying, score less, cry more, be my homes on Sunday. Yes. Oh, no, well, he embarrassing. He cared though. He cared. Yeah, but he embarrassed himself. He was being a baby. We didn't do enough about how embarrassing of a look that was for Patrick Mahol. Wait a minute. So both are embarrassing, caring too little and caring too much. You have a governor that's Matt Ryan's indoors. No, he wants the referees to bend the rules for the chiefs in a great play. Hell, Annie! You've lived a charmed life.
Starting point is 00:16:26 You're gonna act like that at the first moment of adversity. Oh, I don't get to lose to one of our hosts. First moment, what about last week when it was a clear passing experience call and they didn't call it? Last week, yeah, and you know how we took last week and tried. Like, I'm not other open or ball. And then this week is like, enough with this shit, dude. Yeah, it's just ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:16:45 I would love, can I, can I, can I, I'm throwing his helmet, acting like a child. I wanna hear this, I wanna hear the fake mahogany arguing with each other since they're actually on opposite sides of this. I would like to hear positive, because Chris Cody is, so I've never seen him so passionate about a game that didn't involve the dolphins.
Starting point is 00:17:04 I would like them homesies to argue. Take it to call me. And the result helps like a Alex Jones. You can't mind that or Geron. You can't take that away from Travis Kelsi. Go, Joe. Okay. Okay. Okay. One of the great, one of the great players of all time. And you got fast switch energy drink player the week one time. Cater Tony you can't do that. He's raps are fucking us left and right. Go Tiger. Wait a minute. This is all confounding. We will work on it a little bit. Too much twang in both of theirs. Mahomes XC and Nunca. It's really well as just he has that other sound that's happening. Too much Alex Jones man. Sorry. Too
Starting point is 00:17:41 much Swap Monster. Welcome back to Twitter. Thank you. I mean, I want to get your thoughts here on something that's happening now because we're talking about where the takes need to go in the future. The evolution of the takes because the media climate is going to keep getting more and more competitive and more and more young people addicted to social media are not going to necessarily understand why Stephen A Smith, professional man who is an adult in his 50s, is now taking the lane that is stronger than anyone else and is more attacking than anyone else on body shaming Zion Williamson.
Starting point is 00:18:28 And I am getting that I am very woke again, as often happens to me, simply forced to God's because I do need to preface this with something. Yes, of course, obviously a professional athlete should be in professional shape. Yes, obviously. I am simply pointing out to you that if someone has some eating problems, and this could just be a lack of discipline, and perhaps I, in Williamson, doesn't care enough, and just loves binés. It could be that they're delicious.
Starting point is 00:18:59 I don't blame him for loving binés. In fact, that's a bad city for somebody with some some eating issues because New Orleans you could do some real damage they're eating and drinking but I don't know what's going on inside of Zion Williamson I would go the next step of saying sometimes heavy players can be in the right amount of shape for them they don't all have to be 4% body fat he's an overwhelming physical specimen who is stronger than most people at whatever his size light or fat but i mean i wanted to ask you just what you made because i know you two
Starting point is 00:19:33 say get in shape get in shape what did you make of how strongly steven a smith is enjoying the mocking of zion williamson because he's getting a lot of applause for it well i was look i was flabbergasted i I was taking it back, I was appalled, I was disgusted. What Stephen A. did was unacceptable because he stole my goddamn bit. I've been doing that for three years. For three years I've been on that corner. All of a sudden Stephen A. Smith wants to just parachute down and make his Zion's fat jokes.
Starting point is 00:20:03 No, no, no, no, you gotta get in line, buddy. I've been doing Zion puns for so long. Me and Zach Harper on NBA radio talking about Zion's teammates are eat one more and Zion's eating them on his diet. Like, hey, man, you're not just gonna come here and say, oh, he has a belly and think that you've won the day, Steven A Smith. No, sir. Lucy, what are your thoughts on what's happening here? I don't love it. It makes me wildly uncomfortable. I hate how much this show makes fun of each other's bodies.
Starting point is 00:20:33 So I mean, that's so much. And so I don't know. I think it's definitely like a generational thing as well. Like you brought up earlier, like the, you know, Gen Z is a little more attuned to that. You never know what's going on with someone's health. You never know what's going on with someone's health. You never know what's going on with someone's life. So like, I don't like any sort of body shaming stuff
Starting point is 00:20:51 because it makes me feel yucky. And then it opens up the gate for people to body shaming each other. It's just not fun. It's a great point for us. I couldn't agree with Lucy Moore. Look, I cover a team that is notorious for players needing to be in shape, right, in the Miami Heat. But there's not actual body shaming that happens from there.
Starting point is 00:21:10 They keep that under wraps. And that, right, publicly at least. But there's a difference, right? There's a difference between publicly body shaming your players and where Stephen A. is getting all of this information from as he goes public on, he wants to, you know, he'll eat the table. Like it's just taking all of this way too far on a 23 year old guy who clearly struggles with his weight, right?
Starting point is 00:21:33 And one day when his playing career is over, he's probably going to balloon up in size because you know the way that playing basketball keeps these guys in shape. And to think that we're sitting here essentially with a guy who's already been cyber bullied for a whole bunch of other things continuing to pile on for no seeming reason. I mean, he had 36 points last night shooting like 80% from the field.
Starting point is 00:21:56 His play doesn't warrant this type of criticism. If it was actually impacting his ability to be a dominant player, then fine, maybe. Fine. But Steven Knight clearly thinks if he's in better shape, his ability to be a dominant player, then fine, maybe fine. Steven A clearly thinks if he's in better shape, his play would be even better. Yeah, and if Yama is right harder, he'd win the. Steven A doesn't say that. He goes, he's fat. Yeah, well, that's what he did.
Starting point is 00:22:14 I thought Sion had a perfectly reasonable, you know, kind of rebuttal to what Steven A said. He said, if it's coming from a place of love, if it's coming from someone who cares about me, then I'm okay with it. If it's coming from someone who really doesn't know's coming from someone who cares about me then I'm okay with it If it's coming from someone who really does it know me there's nothing I could do about it exactly right I hear everything you guys are saying also Jonas balance too much Let me ask all of you this laugh as a gaki that one stuff question keep working on work on that keep working Also, please turtle the Patrick myomes is need to get better and stronger
Starting point is 00:22:48 Not become Alex Jones and Ed Orscher on the floor. Let's work on that. I But I would like to admit some vulnerabilities here and perhaps cast some light on a little bit of what is happening here in the culture wars that make everyone I'm gonna ask some light on a little bit of what is happening here in the culture wars that make everyone fight about some of this stuff and dismiss me and Lucy and Jeremy is soft and sensitive and get out of here. Gen Z. You don't get to decide Love how you're putting yourself in that group Oh wow Because because I give you I'll tell you why because I'm the only one who was aggregated for supporting Zion Williams and as sounding soft when we were
Starting point is 00:23:30 talking about this yesterday and I was the only one aggregated as the liberal who can't toughen up enough because it's all about participation trophies and why can't Stephen Asimeth just laugh at Zion Williams in sway but let me go through this for a second for you so that I can explain to you what is happening to me in the culture wars, because I'm supposedly as free as I've ever been. And I too am a little afraid of some of this stuff because I too can be out of touch in a number of places.
Starting point is 00:23:58 I can call instead of unhoused, I could say homeless. The other day, instead of disabled, I said to handy-capped. I made an embarrassment of myself the other day talking about Dwight Howard in a way that, um, chames me still and keeps me up at night. And because I'm in this space of feeling a little out of touch and not wanting, when I've been been confident all my life about these things, being woke enough. I feel sensitive about being told and it's what rises up in me is a defensiveness that is hard to push down because I don't want to be told by others what I can say. And because I'm afraid of that, I lose the funny in a mistake like this I made that when I was trying not that long ago and it's a glorious as a mistake.
Starting point is 00:24:48 It is a comedy writer's dream as a mistake that I made and we made no fun of it because I'm too scared around some of this stuff that you can make a mistake that ends your career and it's especially a lack of confidence if you're out of touch and that mistake can cost everybody their jobs here. Okay? The mistake I made in talking about someone sitting Chris Cross applesauce is I said Indian style and then I got scared and backed off and I corrected it to Native American style. I actually did that.
Starting point is 00:25:22 I've never been more proud of you. That's an amazing mistake. That's a joke for modern family. It's unbelievable. I get offensive lines. Turtle. Jalil Okapork. Turtle again.
Starting point is 00:25:41 Don Lebatard. So here's the chant. Are you ready? I'm speaking to the rest of the country You say who we say who? Stugats you say who we say who you say who? We say who this is the Don Lebatard show with this to got The other day I saw Rob L low is hosting a game show now I think it's the floor for I didn't do you wait have a wall or just like hitting
Starting point is 00:26:12 all the cute parts of a house yeah he had a cute always LeBron John had a wall that was hosted by Chris the walking Trump had one of those too yeah so I was thinking and I was like, man, I should have seen that coming. Rob Lowe hosting a game show because it just, it fits. It all makes sense. So it's the last phase of your career, I feel like. Right, it almost career death. And you know how he this, we've never done this.
Starting point is 00:26:37 What I'm about to say, there's things out there called death pools where you guess a group of friends, which celebrity is going to die next? It might. Steve Harvey became, and I'd love where you're going with this, but it is not the death sentence to your career. It's a launching death. What would it do to Steve Harvey? Look what it did to Drew Carey. All right, whether or not it's a death for a career. Patrick wakes up every morning with regret that he didn't take that job, whether he'll tell you or not.
Starting point is 00:27:01 What did it do to Drew Carey? I mean, he's a household name. He makes like 10 plus million dollars a year. He was a household name before. No, he's a show anymore. No, no. Nobody's Ellen Luddon, except the original. I'll tell you that.
Starting point is 00:27:14 So what I wanna do, I wanna get out in front. I don't want what happened to me with Rob Lowe to happen to you guys. I want you guys all to now. I wanna go around, we can almost do this. If we want, we can do this like a draft and we see who's right at the end. I know, I think I have a couple good nominations
Starting point is 00:27:29 for celebrities that will be Game Show hosts. And I think we should go around. And then we can check back in a year and see if any of us were right. This is fun. All right. I want to be a Game Show host when I grow up. Oh, me too.
Starting point is 00:27:40 I think Jeremy would be great at it. I would do that. I'd thank you. Well, I don't know. I just wanted to do it too. You didn't say Jeremy great today. I mean, I do think Jeremy would be great. I would do that. Thank you. Well, I don't know. I just wanted to do it too. You didn't say I'd be great to that. I mean, I do think Jeremy would be better. I have long wanted to be a game show host.
Starting point is 00:27:52 I think that that's my final form. Like I think all of these puns and your career jokes that I've been making. It's just leading to me being a game show host. I want to host something like a cupcake wars, some sort of baking show where I can just make puns and smile and laugh. And I genuinely, I don't think I would be great
Starting point is 00:28:12 at a lot of things. I think I would be great at hosting a game show. I don't know what camera I'm supposed to look into. If that's it, any network out there, if you need a game show host, I am willing and available. All right. Game show hosts have to be likeable, Jeremy. It's kind of what their whole deal is. All right, a game show host have to be likable, Jeremy. It's kind of what their whole deal.
Starting point is 00:28:27 All right, so let's do this. Let's start the draft. I will be like a laden. Yeah, no, it's on the preview screen. It's on the preview screen, right? Like, can you throw up a photo of that? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha 81, age 63. He was the original game show host in my mind. All right, so we're gonna do a draft. The goal here is for everyone to end up with two people that they draft.
Starting point is 00:28:51 I will go first. We're drafting people that we think are going to be game show host. Why do you get to go first? Because I have one and I was just gonna, I'll let someone else can go first. I don't want to go first. I don't want to go first.
Starting point is 00:29:01 But two each, you're set. I just say that we could do 10, but that would take a while. I don't like that just we're accepting that I wouldn't be a good game show. I just think Jeremy seems like he'd be great at it. Really? I think we could play off each other really well. Like I could be the over Lee Zellis. I've got you undercutting the entire game.
Starting point is 00:29:17 Oh, you've never seen me in a suit. I've got you like, do you guys really care about this prize? To Shay. All right, here we go. First pick. Hold on a second. Lucy was trying to say something, and all of you are yammering so much that she has no spaces to say it.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Thank you, Dan. I was talking to Billi and Jeremy about this earlier. Billy would be a great dating show host for like, like if it were like a trashy dating show, Billy would be a great host for that. Trashy. Yeah, like there's like shows called like F-boy Island or something like that.
Starting point is 00:29:44 I love F-boy Island. Yeah, you would be a great host for that. Freshy. Yeah, like there's like shows called like F Boy Island or something like that. I love F Boy Island. Yeah, you would be a great host for that. With the first pick in the next celebrity game show host draft, I select Ty Burrell, the dad for modern family. That's good one. Yeah, that is a good one. Yeah, approaching the final phase.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Yeah, glad you said who he was. He was next. Unless it's the Alan Ludden Wheelhouse of Greg Cody. I'm not tin-you. I walked to the bathroom and Greg Cody was boring the hell out of Cougs talking about crooners. Yes. Oh yeah, Tony Bennett, Mel Tormay, what an era.
Starting point is 00:30:22 The second pick is Lucy. Lucy, you're on the clock. He might already host a game show. I don't know, but I feel like Gronk will be a game show host. OK, so bad. Good answer. Good answer. And we're just doing a combination of likable.
Starting point is 00:30:35 I'm sorry. How did you and Koug stumble into that conversation? I was singing, coming out of the bathroom, as I want to do. And he mentioned enjoying my world premiere Christmas Carol, which debuted on the Greg Cody Show podcast and the DLS was kind enough to play it. And we were talking about crooning and that whole era, and it was just a nice conversation.
Starting point is 00:31:00 You know, it was a beautiful, he's a good guy. Cougler, Cougler the Keckler, He's great. That's a bowling joke with the third pick Is Roy Bellamy Kate McKinnen. Oh Strong Roy All right with the fourth pick is Dan Thanks Mike Gregg Cody with the fourth pick with the fourth pick David Samson. Oh, terrible terrible. Could not be worse.
Starting point is 00:31:27 Could not be worse. I mean, he was on a game show. You have to be likable. David Samson is air you died. He's well spoken. Extremely succinct. He would be a beautiful guy with the fifth terrible. That's a terrible.
Starting point is 00:31:40 Two gots with the fifth pick. Peyton Manning. Strong. I believe he already was. Yeah, really? I believe he hosted some like college battle show that was on ABC. He's done the country music awards twice.
Starting point is 00:31:54 I know that. So he's kind of hosting. Not a game show. Not for me, that's clear that. So that's a good one. Billy, six pick. Well, I have one that you're not going to say, oh, well, actually, he got the wheel
Starting point is 00:32:02 of fortune hosting job. So Ryan C. Crest. I mean, that I mean that's terrible. He's done a million. He's not the game show. He hasn't. No. He's one of the most famous people that I associate with the doing of television. Yeah. Game shows. Regis Philbin is first. Dan Patrick's a good selection. Who would be just this one's tough. There's a degree of difficulty involved in being a sports media member and being through the roof on likability. So, Barclays likable, but Barclays doesn't, the mechanics of game show this would allude. Barclays, it'd be funny. You're looking for that. It's me. I'm you mentioned that already. Yes.
Starting point is 00:32:43 I will be your game show host. You are the RG free of this topic and that you think you're the answer to everyone. I am the answer. Game show and quarterback. How about Carlton? Did he host a game show? Yeah, he's recently hosting Daineson with the stars. He's been in the final phase like 30 years. He hosted America's funniest home videos. That's a big game show either. I understand what game show is. Jeremy, your first big. Competition. I was gonna be a good game show host.
Starting point is 00:33:09 He would. In our world, Juju would be the best I think. I would like to create a game show that Juju was doing. I want to do, I want to do third in line for game shows. This was my idea. Don't give away the idea, Dan. You hear something, I like to run with it. That's why we get to my home's things.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Go with it sometimes. Jeremy, who are you taking? The first two thoughts that I had both have already hosted game shows. Just give me the pink Joey Fattone and Josh Dumell. So I'm gonna take Frankie Munez. Solid Mike, first pick. BEEP
Starting point is 00:33:39 Jim Parsons. A big bang theory. Dan, you took Dan Patrick, right? Well, I think Dan Patrick would be exceptional at it and is exceptional in television. I do want to go back to the idea who is this most likable sports media. Pat McAfee. No, it's polarizing. It's polarizing. Yeah, they're really good. Very likable. Oh, SVP, that's good. Do the Hemsworth brothers? Do they have anything for this?
Starting point is 00:34:04 Oh, just one. Just one. But after Miley dropped flowers, I was like out on the other one. That's good. Uh, do the Hemsworth brothers? Do they have anything for this? Oh, just one. Just one. But after Miley dropped flowers, I was like out on the other one. They're too tall. All right, kicking off the second round here. I will take. You guys want to go snake?
Starting point is 00:34:15 Or are you home to go? Snake? Me go. Jake Roberts, you think? Kenny Stabler? You think they'd be good game show hosts? I'm going with Michael Strahan. Pliskin. What is he hosted?
Starting point is 00:34:25 He hosted like the 20,000. There was a pyramid or whatever. He also one of the pyramids. I'll go pick it on the paper. It's good. Tiki Barber would also be good on the game show that Michael Strahan turned down. All right. I'll replace Michael Strahan with the red headed guy from Modern Family. All your pigs can't get it. just watch modern family. I just think they want Rick pony Yeah, do me both those guys with crush it though, right? Jesse Ferguson yes Don't you would be good to actually he knows the Lego show. Oh, all right. We're the second pick
Starting point is 00:34:57 Oh, Lucy. Oh, no, he doesn't host the Lego show the Batman Lego guy hosts the Lego show We'll talk to Dan anymore. He hosts a show about Dominoes, I think. Riveting. I didn't greenlight it. Who's the second pick who you got? This is a, I don't know. Ryan Reynolds, if his career really goes down here. Oh, it's bad, bad.
Starting point is 00:35:22 He's so, everybody likes it. Wow, who is your first pick? Grog. I can't have a second pick He's so bad, man. He's so, he's so, everybody likes it. Wow. Who's your first pick? I'm Grog. I have a second pick prepared. This was a lot of pressure all at once. I'm not built for this. There are a lot of people outside.
Starting point is 00:35:35 You're overwhelmed. You're still reeling from everything that happened in Army Navy. You shot a gun for no reason. I'm having sensory overload right now. We need to turn the lights off. All right, go ahead and do that. Let's go ahead and turn the lights off to make Lucy slightly more comfortable here because we do need to improve. Just everyone's a little, everything's moving a little fast, but Lucy, you
Starting point is 00:35:56 are now in a room with lights off, but the light is only bathing you. You right now are the only one with light on your face. Yeah, I'm just a girl and I cannot handle this. Roy, third pick. Well, second pick. Jim Gaffigan. Got that. Who's next? Danny McBride.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Nice. Danny Tabito. Tommy Tabito. Oh, that's a good one. Danny Puddy. Wait, are you taking, I'm on a real Danny. You're taking all to Danny. Just on a name.
Starting point is 00:36:23 Greg Cody, your next pick. Charlie Day. We're riding the bloodlines with Alan Ludden III. Are you taking I'm on a real Danny you taking all the Danny's just a name great Cody your next pick Charlie day We're riding the bloodlines with Alan blood in the third Two guts no, but doesn't snoop dog Strong I think that one yet. I think he's done that the the one on TBS the great talent show thing Jeremy Daniel Radcliffe, okay And Mike bring it home. At Helms. Dan, second pitch.
Starting point is 00:36:48 I'd like to stop for a second before I get going so well to my second pick. This is making it seem brighter in here. Can we turn the lights back on? It's worse. I just want for a second. I don't know whether because things are indeed moving fast. Lucy's a little overwhelmed. She shot a gun. I am amused by how quickly things are moving around here so quickly that I don't know how many people noticed that when Danny DeVito was nominated, did you notice this to Gatz? Yes. Greg Cody in the middle of that because things were moving fast and this is about when he starts petering out Throughout a lame Tommy DeVito Just cuz it was the same last day when it roamed dead
Starting point is 00:37:36 When in Rome Paul Rudd I don't know Paul Rudd's likeable. I still don't have anyone telling me who is the most likeable of the media members. I don't I haven't got you got to beat SVP. I mean I told you. He's the Johnson. Oh Ernie Johnson. Ernie Johnson is pretty good. I will- Wait Travis. I'll clothe. Shit staying. You go sit in the penalty box. What? Yeah, shit staying. I renounce your penalty box.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Shit staying. Oh, you're what are you gonna do in insurrection? Peaceful protest. Crisis actors. Crisis Actors.
