Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. This is the Don Levertars show with the Stugat's Podcast. I need the assistance here of Jeremy and Tony because I am sorry to announce this both to them and to the public but Roy, Chris Cody and Mike Ryan Ruiz, young man, I have seen grow up. Have fallen out of the popular demo. They are old dads. They don't make things popular anymore because Roy, Mike, and Cody like them. Young people get to decide for us the future of popularities, whatever they are. And Tony and Jeremy represent a younger demo in Miami and elsewhere, two very different kinds of Cubans.
Starting point is 00:00:59 And I wanted to ask them and you guys, because we're always talking around here, and Stugatz is useless to me in many ways this one included. I say is some business thriving that I remember from my past. They're killing it because I imagine that it's dying and not doing as well and he just says every time they're having their best year ever, Dan. The best year ever, Dan, business from the yourpass.com. Yes. He's he's he's not helpful. Doesn't help me make a conversation out of it. Always the joke goes to die right there because he's got no other move and he checkmates me every time with it because
Starting point is 00:01:35 it's a good move. It's a winning move to not look anything up for me with his broad worst fingers and just say best of your ever Dan. But there are many things that I had not considered that people the age of Tony and Jeremy are eliminating from the earth, okay? I'm not even talking about like phone booths, okay? I'm not even talking about the other day. I could not get my internet to work. So I simply tried to call 411 for information
Starting point is 00:02:02 and it doesn't even exist anymore. Oh my God, you did not try and dial fill. That's a big one. Did you use a lane line? That's a big one. We're going to call 6-1-1 to see the power lines underneath your house too. That's a comedy bit, right? It's unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:02:14 You're doing a thing. Star 16 is still on the phone. What, what, what? Because the internet would not work and I was confused. I don't know when did 411 go out of business? When did calling someone and getting it? 20 years ago? No.
Starting point is 00:02:29 I want that looked up because I did not know. I thought an alumni operator, one somewhere in America. You still use a phone book? Answers you goes, yeah? Hello Dan. Why are you calling? AT&T announced last year that starting in 2023, it was going to discontinue its 411 service.
Starting point is 00:02:48 So recently. Wow. So, recently, wow. I appreciate that the internet is now exonerated me again. I could not get the place. I needed to order something and I could not get internet. Yeah, but you know how the world works. I've heard to go away in 2023.
Starting point is 00:03:03 That means people stop calling and do what thousand. Again, if only I had gotten lucky with a single operator still answering the phones, it's like and just saying, they're like, hello, like just, yeah, there had to be a historic last call taken by 411 where they just said goodbye everybody. We're not going to be giving any more information. I picture it like the dude that was guarding guarding the Holy Grail in Indiana Jones and last crusade Just with like the old like plug-in headphone jack to the entire board. Hello You chose
Starting point is 00:03:37 More it's just like one sad phone that hasn't rung in like Repeat repeat which is Chinese. I've got thoughts. I was just trying to get a cow's out. Oh, I've got thoughts on Italian too. I can imagine what you're doing. You should run for office in 2024. You can win the president. I think I've made Joseph Gackey. I have all the Italian. It's a great character. The whole the whole the racist or one one operator that's awaiting a call. Send it to Sure and McKay, don't make something out of it.
Starting point is 00:04:26 What? All right, just tell me your last name. What? It is a Gaki. It is a Gaki. It was a Gaki there. It is a Gaki. What was it Gaki? Do me a favor, please.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Can you find for me? I know we had to wrestle this away from ESPN. Just find for me real quick the call because are you trying to find Lindy Eric Scotty and monk I can patch you through your life is hot Joe's a gang he's still doing it on you. I'm football game he's been doing it for many years and Mike Ryan impersonated him at the end of the Duke University of Miami game
Starting point is 00:05:05 that ended with 70 laterals and a bunch of illegality. Duke and Miami are both now good at football, legitimately good at football. You can tell that they have athletes on the field. And that's how the game ended. Uh, how many years ago was this when you were yelling about? When we're one, one, we're still a thing. I think there's 2016. It's my league rose.
Starting point is 00:05:27 It was in as a backup or a Brad Cuyah. I love this character. Can I just talk to this? Can I interview this character? Yes, call 4-1-1. Can I interview this character? It's me, Joseph. I want the fake Joseph Gackie to do.
Starting point is 00:05:43 But it's fake, slightly older Indiana Jones last crusade. Let me explain to you what I want here for Joe Zagaki to do but it's fake slightly older Indiana Jones last crusade Let me explain to you what I want here for one minute, okay? I follow all of your Keynes talk when you preview and talk about the program to be delivered as He's so good as me and we're good the last time someone called this number Okay, I'm gonna call the number and ask is the you back? As a way. There's still here. Derek Rudolph is backing up Kenny Dorsey. They're looking good. A lot of depth at linebacker, a young whipper stepper by the name of Jonathan Vilma. We'll be replacing Dan Morgan. by the name of Jonathan Vilma. We'll be replacing Dan Morgan. Can you play the Duke Miami lab?
Starting point is 00:06:28 I'm still looking ahead. It's a hard bit to do that and look at the same time. Please hold. Do do do do do do do do do do do do. I'm typing with both pointer fingers. I'm doing an internal dialogue, knowing that this Latino cannot hear me. I've got thoughts. Joe's an aggig. Bob, Bob, Bob. Gus, much huddleful. Please continue the hold. A rep will be right back with you. Bupo. Gus, much huddleful.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Please continue the hold. A rep will be right back with you. Fake juggle. Our search functionality here is not great. Starting point is 00:07:28 You want to with the OJ, you can. Calzone. I want to with the many honor music. Stand by, stand by. Got a preview sound. Stand by. Someone will get to your goal in moments. 27, 24, script kick.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Just fall down on it or whatever. No, they're going to try the lateral. Pass it to the other side of the field, this never works. Caught by Cornelder. Pitches it back to Jekwan Johnson at the Miami 30. Delaying the inevitable. Looking for a block. Pitches it backwards. As many laterals now as BS passing
Starting point is 00:07:57 interference penalties on that last run. Walton, now Pitches it back to Johnson. Guess we're gonna keep going with this. Pass it back. Here comes another pitch. Cornelder has it. There was a back to the plum Guess we're gonna keep going with this. Toss it back, here comes another pitch. Cornelder has it, throws it back to the plumbers, 9-1-1 goal line. Dallas Crawford looking for a block, gets one,
Starting point is 00:08:11 definitely not a block in the back. He throws it across to the 30 to Cornelder. Big legal block, he's got it to the 40. Cornelder crossing, help Colossio Delos who goes midfield. Cornelder speeding now to the 40. Speeding ticket, bighower.com. Crossing a full of COD in those who go Smithfield corner elder speeding now to the 40 speeding ticket pick our calm How do now?
Starting point is 00:08:28 Dashing down the dandy bear sign line. So what your kid has ringworm dandy bear elder inside the Gus Rich on our Corner, he's at the 10. He's at the 5 Lindy. Hurry Scotty Mike my Emmy. Take where it Like Miami, Sequoia, touchdown! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! So many blocks in the back. Tori, did that solve your boggle? Did I solve your boggle? You did. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:09:11 And remember, after calling 911 call for one. I was just going to make that joke. I was going to make it the plumbers for one one goal line, or sideline, uh, Guss Machado underrated in there. Oh, yeah. Classic. Palacio de los hoogos too. So what your kid has revolved?
Starting point is 00:09:29 Yeah, that too. We need to advertise on our show that way. We need to do a segment that has that kind of advertising. But where I was headed with all of this. Christmas Palace. Do you remember that green building in Halea? Christmas Palace. It actually used to be a dandy bear.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Yeah, yeah. Neil Kevardato has to have a commercial on the next incarnation of that, which is just holy shit that shit. I don't speak Spanish. It's a, they sponsored Tony stop fire for a little bit. How do you feel about this Spanish? You don't, you don't like it.
Starting point is 00:10:02 I've got thoughts. Done. The place that I was headed with this conversation with Tony and you know the Josh Darrow. Still we are still going down the sidelines. Still Josh Darrow's out. Go down to Brian London. All right, thanks, peace. Why you knock Tony down with Brian, the beast London. Alright, thanks, piece. Why you're not Tony down with Brian the Beast London. You have news on Brian Braum. This is a bit then lives so much longer than we ever thought it would. I go around my house doing fake Josie guy. Kim, my wife has never heard Josie.
Starting point is 00:10:40 She's like, who are you doing? And I'm like, ah, you wouldn't get it. If people have no idea who the gaggy is. And they still like hearing, is this who? Jeep, handy, is this who? They're like a jazz band in sneakers. Sickers.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Has everyone got that one? He describes the basketball team. They're like, can you guys find for me a photo of the great legend, Joe Zagaki, accidentally getting too much sun in the kitchen? It's how I think he lives his life. When you say, Josie Gaki to me,
Starting point is 00:11:06 that's the photo that I see. I didn't know that he didn't ever not look like that. No. Your father has been saying Zagaki as exactly in your house. I say, yeah, now it's just how I say exactly. My whole life, it's how I thought the word exactly was said. Zagaki.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Put the picture up for us, please, of Josie Gaki getting so much sun that his face got sunburned, and you can see while he's doing a basketball broadcast at the gym that he has turned a violent, violent shade of red and pink, except where the shade from his sunglasses protected his pale and freckled face. Well, we get to your boggle. Let me remind you, if you're not on a boat getting some burn, you could always visit Lulee poles and supplies.
Starting point is 00:11:49 That's Lulee poles in Haya-Lia. Are they still doing retain shack, retain shack? Oh, retain shack. I think that doesn't exist anymore, right? retain shack. No, I think so. retain shack is dead. Correct? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:06 It's the big building that says, Lulee Poole's on the roof. Since 1978, servicing your pool. Retan Shack since 1984, still up in Hollywood, uh, high leo. It still exists? Yes.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Retan's coming back, Dano. How can young people make everything popular? Is there a bestie or ever? I never got to that. There's nothing with you guys. Does that solve your bugle? So I first came to Edward Jones with a great deal of trepidation when I first met with my advisor.
Starting point is 00:12:39 And I really was feeling vulnerable about what I would have to share. I was, of course, pleasantly surprised to find that there was absolutely no judgment and a lot of support. And when it was time to get serious, he really took my hand and helped me to do that. Edward Jones, we do money differently. Visit EdwardJones.ca slash different.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Don Lebertard! Who I'm thinking of is Lauren Green. We all remember Lauren Green. Who could forget? Bonanza. Lauren Dorn. Am I right? There's a cookie named Lorna Dune or something like that.
Starting point is 00:13:13 It's my favorite cookie. It's number one of my top five cookie lists, yes. You and nobody else. But Lauren Green played the head cowboy in Bonanza. Thank you. You're so whole, thank you. Yeah, the stumbling on his word, the precise manner of it was as old as you've ever sounded.
Starting point is 00:13:32 It's still gots. Also, why did you say thank you at the end of that? Well, because I'm enlightening people. People out there nodding like, Boba has gone, yeah, yeah, Lauren Green, Bonanza. I remember that you're welcome, then. Well, I mean, Bonanza and Gunsmoke were like big rivals on TV. It was must see TV.
Starting point is 00:13:51 We'd watch them at 1440 on a black and white magnovox every week. Yeah, my turn. Not mine. My grandma used to watch those shows every day, right? Damn right. She would have been 90 this year. Hello. Good for her. She had good taste in TV. Damn right. She would have been 90 this year. Hello. Good for her.
Starting point is 00:14:05 She had good taste in TV. Low and green. VCC down Libertar Show with this two gods. All right, we are here with Matthew Kitchuk in first of all. Thank you. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:14:23 You're so sweaty right now, but I want to hug you. Yeah. I would ask, but I don't want to hurt the sternum. No, it's all good. We got to keep that in place because the injury was devastating, but thank you for the greatest season in Florida. Payton, there's history memories that'll last a lifetime bus in 10, the walkoff. I already have started. I've commissioned a statue outside of the arena of you sliding in celebration. Can't believe that's not the NHL 24 cover. Thank you so much for a wonderful season. How is your health because the entire team was a match unit after last season's playoff run? Yeah, I actually feel unreal right now.
Starting point is 00:14:56 And just like, it feels like a new year, but it also feels like it's just a continuation of last year, which I think is a great thing for our team. And we can kind of just bring in that I think is a great thing for our team. We can just bring in that good mojo that we were having in playoffs. We have a few guys that are going to be out early, but I just think the mindset with all the core players with what we went through last season is going to make us stronger at the start of the year. But we do have a right amount of new guys where it feels very fresh.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Is it hard at all to, because you got so close to the mount top, like you're here in training camp, like is it difficult at all to get like, get your mind like start over again, essentially? At the bottom of the mountain. Do you want, not necessarily. I think it took a little bit of time after the finals to get over it,
Starting point is 00:15:37 but you know, it's something that you just got to learn from. And we know the road to June is a a long ways away but the painful that is that is a you know what but you're rewarding road as well so we know what it takes to get there we learned it last year and I think now it's just up to putting in the work right now to start the start that road. We said you will full go at media day really surprised everyone like what went into your rehab? Just so many hours, lots of PT, lots of work out, lots of treatment, good old PT. Lots of rest early, which doesn't sit well with me.
Starting point is 00:16:16 But I think all things considered, I probably had to work my hardest this summer out of all summers to get myself back to this point. And it's rewarding I guess because I feel good right now and hopefully get no few pre-season games and start the season feeling fresh. I've seen some quotes of yours if I mean you're getting you're super sorry you're leading into it you do all the media veils we appreciate that I've seen some quotes of yours describing the
Starting point is 00:16:42 morning after you took that hit I know Brady helped you out of bed and their legendary stories about help and put your pads on. What can you describe? How can you describe that morning after that game, which by the way, you came back and had heroic moments? Yeah, I think that, well, I heard it during game three came back and played. We ended up winning that game. The next morning I woke up, obviously, pretty sore, how to go to your MRI X-ray CT scan,
Starting point is 00:17:09 like did all that. They sent me, I went and did that, and there was something potentially scary, which thank God it wasn't. So I had to go back and do another CT scan on one day. And I wasn't really like, I was hurt but not crazy. And that it was. Not hurting at all. And then it was, it was, even when there was one thing that was potentially scary,
Starting point is 00:17:28 not that that his body already looked like he was in a massive car accident. There is, there's some guy, yeah, there's some guys I had to go back and see. And then on Thursday was the, the game four day, woke up feeling worse. Went to the ring, felt better from treating. And I went down from my nap.
Starting point is 00:17:43 And when I got up, it was like, oh, and it came to describe that. So that's when my brother helped me was before the game after the nap. So yeah, tried my hardest, and yeah, I can hold my head high, no, and I did. Everyone talks about how painful hockey is. What's something in hockey that actually doesn't hurt as much as it looks like?
Starting point is 00:17:59 Like a good old fashioned check against the board. Yeah, I would say like work. Yeah, I would say like against the glass. Like the boards. Yeah, I would say like work. Yeah, I would say like against the glass. Like the glass is pretty, I would say it's a cushion, but it's giving. So it doesn't, unless it shatters. And unless it shatters, I would probably hurt, but I would say one thing that hurts more
Starting point is 00:18:17 than what you would think would be like a shot block. Oh, like on the shins. No, shins are fine, but like if you get it on the pelvis or the foot, or like that, or like the leg, like the extremities. Yeah shins are fine. Okay, if you get it on my the pelvis the foot Okay, like like my Extremities. Yeah, or like off the toes the toes of the worse. Yeah going back into the game After sustaining that injury like that's warrior mentality. Yeah. Oh, are you crazy? Probably both But I think hockey players most of them would do the same so I'm watching you guys do these sprints You guys are going a hundred times around the rank Like I'm my thighs are hurting watching you guys
Starting point is 00:18:46 But I notice every hockey player the move when they're really tired It's stick on the across the thighs bent over like this. Yeah, I was always taught when we want oxygen We go hand on the head. Yeah, like why is no why is no why don't I just proven scientific? No hockey players doing this move, you know what? I do not care what I was just proven scientific. I see no hockey players doing this move. You know what? I do not care what science says. When I'm tired, I'm putting my hands on the knees
Starting point is 00:19:09 and I'm trying to find any way possible to feel better for the next rep. That's hard skate though we doing training. I was in pain watching. All right, new season. You have one more opportunity to celebrate what happened last year. That's the banner.
Starting point is 00:19:21 You think it's gonna be risen or is it gonna be right there next to the president? Just have it. Just have it. Yeah, I mean, I don't know what their plan is for that, but I'm in super special memories. I'm sure that'll be like the one of the last times where I can really reflect on that. But our job is to put a new banner next to it this year. Hell yeah. You know, you're sweaty, but give me a hug We fired Chris winning him because he was on board That's like really against the odds. I will here with Josh Mahir. This is your second year with the Panthers
Starting point is 00:20:05 at the coming in from Anaheim. Yeah, a bit of an uptick. You played every game during the regular season. How do you think you first year with the Panthers went? Yeah. Yeah. You know, it was good. I think personally, I took a lot of steps in my game
Starting point is 00:20:17 and you know, just be able to come here and kind of go on the run that we had. You know, it was a lot of fun. That's why you play. So I just think personally it was just a lot of fun to be a part of and just pretty run that we had. You know, it was a lot of fun. That's why you play. So I just think personally it was just a lot of fun to be a part of and just pretty fortunate to be here. It would have been fun if you didn't enjoy last season. Yeah, that was pretty lame, actually.
Starting point is 00:20:34 It's probably like a four out of 10. Yeah, I know. Yeah. You had a memorable moment, one that I'm sure you'll never forget last season. From where I'm standing, face is looking good, but there's a little bit of a memory there. A little keepsake on the left cheek. Yeah, I think that was kind of the big talk for
Starting point is 00:20:52 me this summer. It was coming around family and friends and taking a peek at my left eye there. Maybe that healed up. Maybe this year we work this move in. I try to block it a little bit. No, I know. I know. I know. block it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, with it like hey get my good side. Well I think the left side might be my good side. Oh right. We'll see. Well you just get another one even out then. You have two good sides. I don't know if we'll do that but yeah. Hopefully not. I don't know I mean I think most people in the audience can can kind of piece together how much that hurts but let's relive it a little bit. What exactly like is there a delay? Like you see it coming and you're like this is gonna hurt Is there a delay? Like you see it coming and you're like, this is gonna hurt.
Starting point is 00:21:45 And do you feel the pain almost immediately? Do you have the adrenaline surging through you that you're hurt? Or you're hurt? Get me back on the ice, right now. Is your thought like, I gotta get back out there for my guys. What is your thought process in that moment
Starting point is 00:21:59 as a competitive juices are flowing? Yeah, I think somewhere in between all of that is where you're kinda, I don't know, I think somewhere in between all of that is where you're kind of like, I don't know, I didn't really see it coming, but I think the body was just kind of in shock and then up or down on the list is, do I still have an eye? Yeah. It was pretty high on that. Oh, yeah. Was it two? As it should be. So I think, you know, when I once I looked down and saw the blood all over the ice, I was like, oh, damn, I'm a little in one here. So were you like, man, that was my good side.
Starting point is 00:22:27 That was not the good side. No, so once I got off, there was kind of that thought of a one and to get back in. And honestly, at that time, and the rest of that night, it wasn't too bad. It was kind of the next morning when I woke up. I should know the answer to this because I went to a lot of home games and they have the intro video of everyone's nicknames and hockey players always shortened things with a Y at the end of it. But Josh Mahura isn't the easiest name to come up with a... Mahura! Yeah, like Mahuri, like so... Are you all this Muzzy?
Starting point is 00:22:57 Are you Joshi? Like what is your nickname? Why don't the boys do not call me Joshi? Yeah, that's for sure. I mean it's adorable. What do we call him? What's your nickname? Why don't the boys do not call me Josh? Yeah, that's for sure. I mean, it's adorable. What do we call on you? What's the nickname? Yeah, no, the voice call me Muzzy and the rumor Muzzy. Oh, hey! Kind of, I don't know exactly how it got going, but. Muzzy?
Starting point is 00:23:15 That's been kind of stickin' like Muzzy by you, though. Yeah. How about some like, Scarface? How about you, Josh? How about Scarface? Scarface. There's something like, incidental. Oh my god. Muzzy. It's just season outlook right here. Maybe you're going to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game.
Starting point is 00:23:26 You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to start a new game. You're about to hopefully bring in some of that energy from last year and bring it into the start of this year and just get off to a good opening and a good first half of the games is gonna be huge. Let's get in front of that eight ball this year. Yeah, I hate being behind that. Yeah, I know. It's like I wanna shoot for that stripe over there
Starting point is 00:23:55 but I'm behind this goddamn thing. Who's the guy that's gonna skate in front of you to take the puck to the face next time? Longburg. Long me would be a good guest, sure. All right, Josh, thank you so much. One last question, would you take a title last season and not watch movies for five years? One, I wouldn't watch a movie for the rest of my life.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Oh, no, that is it. Alright, we're here with Nick Cousins. He had to go on the playoffs. He was a pretty big one. It was the one that won the series against Toronto. Yeah. You were there. You saw Raccoon Gouda's Russian to the ice. Russian to the gold tender. He made that big ground, that big roar at the end. He scored that goal. Like what was the feeling? I mean, obviously a big moment for our team. But yeah, that, remember after the game,
Starting point is 00:24:45 we saw that picture that was going around in our team group chat for a while. So I mean, obviously it happened in Toronto. So the media obviously likes to blow it up there. I think they're still talking about it this year. So I mean, obviously a big play about him to drive the night, kind of take away the deed to kind of open up the play for me.
Starting point is 00:25:03 But yeah, I know a big play about him. And the night, kind of take away the deed to kind of open up the play for me. But yeah, I know a big play by him. And then obviously that picture after the game kind of goes viral since the magnitude of the goal, but all in all is a good play all around. We were down three one against Boston. What was the message in the locker room that Palm Rees had for you guys? Just win one game. Yeah, win one game, get it back home, and then all the pressure is on them. And then we just kind of feed off
Starting point is 00:25:26 our energy at home and then you know you win that one and then back to Boston for game seven. It's anybody's game. I mean yeah just talking about it gives me a good reason to run through this. Well thank you so much for joining us. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. If we win the Prince of Wales, do we touch it this time? Yeah. I would say yes, but that's not up to me. I say I'm on your lesson, huh? Yeah. Exactly. At Public Mobile, we do things differently.

Starting point is 00:26:19 Don Lebertard! You are very comfortable talking about how you met your wife, how much you love her, how important she is to you, and that's the reason that I asked the question. I've always admired that about you. That you have no problems whatsoever professing your love. Well, the thing is, I got a new wife now, me and Bianca didn't make it. So I moved on, we moved on. it was for the better of both of us. Still got things just got a little awkward there. So let me be the first on this show to congratulate you on the new wife.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Vance, congratulations on feeling whole, feeling complete. You know, let's talk tailgating. Yeah. Don't be, don't feel awkward, buddy. talk to tailgating. Yeah. Don't be those don't feel awkward, buddy. You know, I don't have too late. It's much too late for that sense. I appreciate you soothing me in this regard, but I already feel
Starting point is 00:27:16 terribly awkward. And then my teammate comes to my defense with not a question, but just a healthy congratulations. And the further pointing out of that awkwardness because he's always good for me in those spots. I'm also thinking of divorce Vince after many, many years, 18 years with a partner who does things like that to you.
Starting point is 00:27:35 This is the Don Lebatars show with his two cats. What if we do the Super Bowl's the best of seven? So we extend the season from one game of the Super Bowl, we extend it all the way into March. I have a bet. Seven weeks and eight. I have a bet idea. Also, the Super Bowl goes on tour. So it's not just in one city.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Oh, okay. Okay. It's in one city game two is in another. Do you ever do it at like home stadiums for the teams? So two of them can be at home one and one and they go on a tour after that. Maybe game six and seven can be at home. Home field advantage. Yeah, so you don't schedule six and seven. That's up in the air. One is for you know, I get, but if you okay, here's the question. If you do this and
Starting point is 00:28:20 game six and seven belong to the teams. How do you award six and how do you award seven? Better record has seven. Yep. Better record has seven, because what if you wanted it six? Could you choose like better record chooses, I think. They can choose six or seven. Going into the series.
Starting point is 00:28:33 Who won the astronaut name? The probo. Exactly. It's a mobile matter. Are we still in the probo matters? Is that still flag or no? It matters. It's been flagged right speedy.
Starting point is 00:28:42 It's been flagged right speedy. It's been flagged right speedy. Yeah, so last year. Okay, so we're on the same page here. Just so everyone can catch up. uh... in the matter of the five competition here okay so so we're on the same page here just so you can catch up the super bowl is now best of get seven seven it's a tour
Starting point is 00:28:54 right and that's a two uh... to where yeah that they have a program program situation i i i say the same way before i say the same way to her yeah will just say to my image traveling a traveling carnival of a Super Bowl and then how you choose six and seven is based on who won the carnival game
Starting point is 00:29:15 Pro Bowl the season before the season before or the week before I was gonna say the Pro Bowl gets played before the Super Bowl Huh before week one two so you've got five weeks to then let the team make the decision on whether they want game six or seven. It seems like logistics would be difficult to turn around a Super Bowl in six days, but I guess it's the best of seven. It's not. You really would have like a month. You've got plenty of time.
Starting point is 00:29:37 You've got six weeks before you got to worry about getting there. Okay. So now if the Super Bowl is a series, are we doing Monday Night Football? There's an effortful Sunday Night Football, or are or we just doing one day they've got to be all Sunday nights. Yeah. Can we throw a day game? They're or Saturday can we do a Super Bowl Saturday finally? That would be nice. I know that the game time at will be selling these tickets left and right. I can guarantee that part. Wow. But yes, Super Bowl Saturday's two guys we see you. By the way, download the
Starting point is 00:30:03 game time app, use code DLB for $20 off your first bus. I love game times. Oh, why? I love game time. That's what I use for my tickets at Penn State and although that game sucked, our tickets kept us shielded from the rain. I ask you, I use game time this past weekend
Starting point is 00:30:17 to go take my family to the Marlins game, incredibly easy, two taps. I love where you can see, where you can sit, and you can actually like go around the stadium with the app. So you look around and you can actually like go around the stadium with the app So you look around you're like, oh, okay, perfect. That's where Jeremy. That's it That's where he would stay and if I was watching the moreland's I believe they also have a feature where you can just put in the section that you want and they'll choose a ticket for you
Starting point is 00:30:33 And it's like up to 18% off. Yeah, that's not a game time commercial That's not about my wmba tickets really Friday against the Connecticut sun versus the New York Liberty who are in the Simmel finals right now championship wise So all you did you really did you just put the section and picked the New York Liberty who are in the semi finals right now, championship-wise. So did you really do that? You just put the section and picked the C3? Yep, and I can see right where I would be sitting. I can see the view. I have never experienced another website
Starting point is 00:30:54 that does tickets like this. That's right. Specifically. I've looked at game time. Absolutely game time. So we do it Saturdays, right? There's no college football, but we do it seven Saturdays in a row.
Starting point is 00:31:03 Well, no, you need us, Super Bowl. Super Bowl, game one should be on a Sunday Super Bowl Sunday one and seven Yeah, it gets a seven if necessary well, but what if it's a sweep and it's a sweep Yeah, but what about the the five and six seven those three games? They don't exist It was a sweep. I know but you're disappointed for the home fans of home fans right? That's too bad. Sorry. Yeah, do better. Your team is too dominant Do better. Yeah, it's like I'm mic me Daniel. I think you should have scored 73 points. Should have won us a not scored 73 points
Starting point is 00:31:33 Stop us. He should have scored like 85 points. Slut the fangs. Yeah, salute to fangs man big big revenge game for him Absolutely, even though it showed up would have been better, but you know, we're not going to nitpick here. Right. That's a different show. Mm-hmm. Anyways, what are we looking at the college slate this weekend? Are we excited about anything? It's a kind of a letdown weekend, right? Yeah, after last weekend, it's not as good, but I think it's still a pretty solid slate. You got Georgia Auburn, Georgia's really kind of funky this year. They're not as good as everyone thought. Still gots to been testing this thing. I don't remember if you did on air this week or if this was just an inoffice thing where he said something's a little bit off about Georgia. He's trying to get out of it.
Starting point is 00:32:09 He's trying to get out of it. No, he's right though. Wow, don't tell him that. They were pretty, they ended up winning by a lot, but they kept it close against UAB for a while. There hasn't been anything where you're like, wow, Georgia's so much better than everyone else. Although that's not a crazy, like, untypical thing. They almost lost him as Missouri a few years ago when they won the National Championship.
Starting point is 00:32:27 We're gonna, like, play this little game where we're like, ooh, Georgia might not be the best and then come play off. They're gonna boat race everybody. I have this college football theory right now that more so than ever, and I think it's been the case for quite a while, that literally the only thing that matters
Starting point is 00:32:40 is who you're starting quarterback is. No, because Iowa's starting quarterback last year was really, really bad. And our starting quarterback this year is all right. And somehow we've gotten worse. Yeah, but that seems like a U problem though. That's an Iowa specific problem that I don't know if those things can be fixed. This is more about the idea that like any program right now if you just end up with a superstar quarterback Or what is your programs version of a superstar quarterback your programs version?
Starting point is 00:33:11 I don't know why superstar quarterback you're gonna end up just being one of the best teams in college football because right now There's so much parity, but isn't that in any like football? General pop one around the room and vote on this theory The yays anyone I vote yay. I vote yay. No hold on. I vote yay just because in every division of football Peewee high school college. I think it's more of a gap It's more of a gap. I'm saying you have a quarterback. Make sure you have a good quarterback You're gonna be a good year reference. That's what I get to analyze college. I feel like you've lost Like you can't use a Peewee football example to analyze. No, but if you have a good tier. Like that's what I was talking about. That's what I was talking about. I get to analyze college, I feel like you've lost.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Like you can't use a Pee Wee football example to analyze a bunch of words. No, but if you have a good Pee Wee quarterback, your team's gonna be good. If you have a good high school quarterback, your team's gonna be good. It's like it just kinda goes the entire way up the ladder. If you have a good quarterback, you're gonna be good.
Starting point is 00:33:56 I would argue Michael Vick was playing me good, but the fact that he was playing me reggae. That's what I'm saying. We call that regal in the hood. Yeah, that's what I was saying too. Just about. Also, side note on Iowa. I, saying. We call that regular in the hood. Yeah, that's what I was saying too. I was so side note on Iowa. You're filming?
Starting point is 00:34:08 They have phenomenal pants. I like y'all a black and yellow pants. Should I go get the pants? Can you go get the pants right now? No, no, the ones that they sent you, can you go find the pants really quick? Hard network out. AHHHHH
