But yeah, these guys are hopefully healthy right now, and we'll see how it goes. How many pairs of sneakers does Brooks Capgone? Oh, Way too many I know I own more shoes in my wife. So yeah, I think in my office I've probably it's probably about 300 and then It's even more of my closet and then we have little upstairs storage room. That's probably another 150 to 200 pairs What's your latest pickup Brooks? I'll tell you what ever since I've had had crew my son I haven't I haven't been into the sneaker game. So I got to figure it out. Um, I know we just did

the Travis Scott to me a bunch of issues. So I know they're sitting in the house having unboxed me up, but it'd be nice to get back there and see what's in there. What's your favorite of the 300 and so much shoes you have? What's the one that you like your grail? Ah, I wear them every year at Augusta. It's the Virgil Louis Vuitton off-white Nike collab. They're in that Augusta green. So I was for your... With the Naxelon, right? You got the tag still on them? They actually didn't come with a tag, but they're not. And it was pretty cool. So yeah,

I had some stuff went on with Virgil before he passed and we were on a plane flight when I, when I found out that, that he had passed away. So it was kind of chilling just to know that the last pair of sneakers he ever got basically was a part of that he put in and sent them to me, and especially being a guest agreeing, I think it's pretty cool. So hopefully one of these next few years we can pop a win off. I love your coverage. You're wearing those shoes in the event that you win the green jacket so everything matches. Oh yeah, you have to, right? I mean, it's got it look good. But yeah, it'll be it'll be pretty cool. Slip of green jacket on with those. I don't think many people in the golf world would exactly know what's on the what's on my feet at that point,

but it'd be fun. But that's what we love about you. You don't give a **** about the rest of the golf world, Brooks. I mean, hey, I don't care as long as I look good, I look good in the green jacket. I'll choose all the good and anything. If you can only win one because you've won, you've won five majors, but you have not won the open championship and you haven't won at Augusta. You've been, I think you fit a second, maybe two or three times out of gusty. If I told you, Brooks, you can only win

what the open championship or the masters, which one you want? Masters easy. I mean, you get to go back there every year, right? I think that's pretty cool. And then the Sunday before you to bring your guests, I don't know. My dad was a huge fan of the masters. It was was the one one term every year. We knew we were going to go in and go go watch his family. So that's that one's a little bit more to me. Give me the one negative about Augusta. Everyone just talks about the good stuff. Like come on. Nothing bad about Augusta. So I think sucks there. No, man. It's actually it's legit. It's pretty cool. When you go, I mean, there's not a blady grass.

It's just out of place. It's so perfect. I guess you could say that tree phone last year wasn't so. There it is. That wasn't the best. But if the tree, I'll tell you what, we came back the next day and it was like, it never happened. Right.

But if the tree never fell, there's nothing, right? I mean, exactly. Congratulations on being a new dad, man. That's cool. Yeah, it's the coolest thing. It really is. So it's fun. So he's going to be down here this week. So it'll be his first first event. It'll be nice just to get down and go hang with him. We're done and try to find a new routine. What's the strategy when we're going in the room in the middle of the night and he's

awake? Are we bouncing? Are we swaying? Driving the car, Driving in the car? Like what's the method here? We're gonna go with some bouncing. The bouncing's been effective as of late. So yeah, yeah, we're all patting the bag. Yeah, that's what worked thus far. So hopefully this week you continue story,

but you never know. Are you good at changing diapers? Yeah, it's like a pit stop, man. Trying to do the fastest time is possible at this point cleanup It's gotten a lot easier. I know what I'm doing a little bit more I have to imagine that probably a couple months ago. I mean when the baby's coming cuz I have a newborn too You're like I don't be cleaning up human and now it's like no big deal cuz you just have to kind of do it Yeah, it's it's I

I know things like man. I just don't want, I don't want to throw up on me. I'll get anything on my hands now. I don't care. I just got to keep it moving. Yeah, you stop caring. But then it comes to point when you get the first few in you and you're like, man, okay, this is just gonna happen and it's gonna continue to happen.

So just get used to it. Brooks, when you're standing over a career altering shot as you do pretty often competing in high level tournaments, I get nervous over a playing five dollars a hole when there's like a three hole carryover and I'm standing over a putt, I get nervous. So I'm just wondering what you do in those moments when you're standing over a putt to win a ring.

It rains it. No, I know, but is there a routine you go, like what are you saying to yourself or is it just it's golf to you and you don't get freaked out in those moments? Ah, I don't get freaked out, those moments. I don't get freaked out. I think it's pretty supposed to be right. You want to be in that position where you're a little bit uncomfortable or

or have a chance to win. So I mean, I love it. I think it's fun. I enjoy the thrill, um, thrill of just being in contention and obviously, you know, losing sucks. So just make sure you don't do it. Do you miss anything about the PGA tour? I mean, I do miss seeing the guys.

So it is kind of different, you know, seeing them four times a year, I guess, you know, five of the rider company in this year, but I mean, it wasn't the full, the full group of guys, but I mean, I see a bunch of them just practicing at home, but it'd be nice to see them a little bit more. But this seems like, Liv seems perfect for you, Brooks, from this standpoint, because you care about the majors, right? Like, that's what you care about. And so this seems to, especially as a new dad

and someone who just got married, this seems to allow you to have more time for your family, still play the sport that you love and you get to play in all the majors. Yeah, I mean, right? That's, that's the ultimate dream. Play, uh, play all the majors. And then, um, you know, playing lives been a lot of fun, right? Like, I've, ultimate dream play for all the majors and then you know playing lives been a lot of fun right? Like I've I started my career traveling the world playing

golf all over and to get to do it again, you know, you've mixed in a little vacation here too. It's it's always fun. Did anything make you laugh? Like I know you guys lost the rider cup that was disappointing, but was there a moment where you just sat back like Rory getting into it with a caddy where you were just like, what the hell is happening here? Yeah, it was, uh, that's, yeah, that was interesting, man. It was a lot of, uh, there was a lot of homey back energy going on, um, at the rider cap. I don't think I would bet to say of the 24 players and the 24 caddies, I would say the cat, the caddies is definitely who would fight, but I don't think really any of the players have been in a fight, including Roy. That was

kind of weird. It was kind of odd. I think the caddies definitely spent a few more hours at the bar than we do. So they're they're probably testing that. If we have a Royal Rble of team Europe versus team USA We're like the last three or four in the ring. That's great. Players only Brooks is wonderful of that rider cup. Yeah See, I'll tell you we were actually talking about this. This is how far deep down the rabbit hole we got I was like man, I really don't want a piece of finna Tommy Fleet was caddy. I know It was he was my choice. I was like, I don't know. I'll let anybody else go. Wait. So you guys discussed this? Which daddy would you want to try? We had open conversation. Who was going to take you? How about your daddy? I mean, I don't think Rick said intimidating. I love him to death, but be it five, eight,

northern Irish. He could have taken, I mean, we, I don't know, he could have gone roaring, same size. Nobody's afraid of bones though, right? We can all agree on that. He's laughing. He doesn't want to acknowledge it, but he's laughing. Broke, we've been talking a lot this week about Halloween. Are you a big Halloween guy, like a costume guy?

I am this year. I believe Jenna has already bought the outfit for crew and myself. I'm not afraid to dress up. Couples costume, what are you guys wearing? I think it's the Mario Luigi costume, some like that. Nice. How'd you come up with that name? It's a great name. It's all Jenna. Jenna, she heard the name. I don't know where. I think we were, I was on all those, like, you know, those baby websites where you just kind of come up with names and look at names and I, do there's like a thousand of them

and I just couldn't scroll any longer. So I just let her come up with it. Yeah, we ended on that. I don't mind like crew. I think it's cool. Wait, but what was crew like you had a top 10, I'm assuming, right? Because that's what parents do is, you know, is they're approaching having a kid. You had a top 10 crew was not on the top 10, right?

She just came up with that. She came up with it and then it was, I was like, listen, I really like it. So it's better than anything I'm gonna come up with because my dumb ideas aren't exactly always the best. Ha ha ha ha. Just continue to do what she wants you to do, Brooks. That's a lot of it.

Exactly, right? It's my lesson for you. Okay. If I were to show up to the Capca House for Halloween, what could I expect? Big bars, small bars, what are we getting there? I think you're going small bars. I think I'm not going to lie. I'm a big Reese's peanut butter cup and Snickers guy.

So I'd say intentionally we're going to buy probably, I don't know, four or five bags of those and keep the, you know, two to the side. And just got to fill out that dad bod. You know what I mean? Yeah, I do. Brooks, Stu Gotts and I in a couple weeks are playing versus Bob does sports. Oh, three versus three golf match. We say yes. We're kind of in the market for a third. So yeah, that was, that may be the worst, but sorry, I can't help myself. It's, um,

I guess it means a little bit more riding around in that, uh, that golf card, no one, no exactly the beat down I gave him. But you and Bryson have become friends with this, right? Yeah. It's, uh, it's definitely helps. It's, uh, it's been a lot, a lot better. Um, he's a nice kid. He was just an easy target. And then eventually when you start, I mean, tease it up for me that much. It's kind of hard not to take a swing at it. Uh, that's what we love about you. Because Brooks, like, you just stroll onto the golf course. It's kind of hard not to take swing at it. He's also my favorite Formula One driver. He came on the show last year and Dan hijacked it and it was terrible. So now Dan is gone. So you guys predictably has left even though we were preparing to play a game of Lando or Lando. Maybe we'll get to it, maybe we won't. I'm not sure Lando, how are you doing today? I'm very good, thanks.

Yeah, good to be back. I'm excited. Seasons going well. Yeah, just a pleasure to be back, I guess. So thanks for having me once again. Of course, anytime. The last time we saw you on TV, you were sweating in the cool down room

after the race in Qatar. Have you fully recovered yet from that? I did, yeah. It took me a couple days. It was pretty the toughest race I've ever had physically. Just very draining, lost a decent amount of weight. It was a tough one for everyone. I think that was very clear from the videos and the pictures that probably everyone saw.

So I took one, but yeah, now an Austin ready for this weekend and ready for the end of the season. There was some consternation amongst like former drivers and analysts and everyone about whether or not there was like a legitimate safety issue in Qatar. So what were your thoughts on all of that and all of the chatter after the race ended? And obviously we found out that a few drivers did have to go and get some medical attention afterwards because they were so hot. Yeah, I mean, I think the main thing everyone was OK in the end. It just shows how difficult it is.

It's one of the sports that almost looks the least demanding and physically looks fine from the outside, but probably is one of the most demanding and physical sports that there is in many ways. But it went maybe a little bit too far. I think you never want to get to the point. Maybe some sports, I don't know, it's it's seen to be like pushing people to their limits, you know, when people start to pass out and things like that, but not in racing, not when you're driving a car at whatever 300, 350 kilometers an hour, you don't want to see people getting to that kind of off of limit, that's not what it's about, it's not, is it the most physical sport, you know, it's about racing what it's about. It's not, is it the most physical sport? It's about racing and it's about the actual,

the racing itself, not so much the physical aspect. That's not what formal one is about. So we've spoken about a little bit. It's something that will be reviewed and they're definitely gonna try and avoid, I guess, simply going to places which are as hot as humid as Qatar was. And the main thing is that Qatar next year is already six weeks later on in the season. So it's not

going to be the same. But there's still going to be places like this weekend in Austin. It's still going to be 35 degrees, which translates easily to probably 50 degrees or also in the population. And to Fahrenheit because the entire right now, no idea. 35 is like 88 degrees Fahrenheit. I think is that sound No idea. 35 is like 88 degrees Fahrenheit. I think is that that sound right? No, it has to be a lot more. I think more. Okay. I don't see. I don't know either. 95 95 95. Okay. I was not that close

But that's gonna feel like a walk in the park compared to last race, right? I mean I'm not quite as hot. I mean the thing which made it so much worse in guitar was one It was just a very physical track a very high speed There we we were almost forced to do a pitch top strategy, which was a three-stop race Which means you're pushing a lot more, you know, there's no like let's say chilled tire saving Things going on it's new sets new set of tires High amount of grip you're pushing flat out,

by the time the tyres start to drop away, you're pitting again. So that made things even worse, then it kind of should have been and normally is. But also it's so humid. So normally you kind of open up your visor, you get a little bit of a breeze from just the air, but because it's so just humid and, and was so hot, that wasn't helping. And just the air is very thick and warm, and it's just not a nice feeling. So it probably won't be as bad here in Austin, but it's still gonna be tough,

and it's still gonna be a challenge for us inside the car. Babylanda, why are you guys letting Max for a stab in win every race? You know, why not? Just a spare. That's fair. You know, why not? I a spare. You know, why not? I guess someone's got to do it.

And the people chose him for a little bit. So his time will come to an end. But for now, it's him. But a couple of years, it won't be. So all good. I like that. So the driver's championship has already locked up. Max clinched it in the last race.

But there's five races left, couple of them in the US, including the new one in Vegas. You and your team may ask your P.S. you're having a really great second half of the season in the McLaren car, which is one of the fastest on the track right now. So how important is it for both of you to finish the season strong?

I mean, it's very important. I would say it's more important for the team almost than it is for us as drivers. It's always important. I would say it's more important for the team, almost than it is for us as drivers. It's just a bonus. If we can go into the offseason, into the winter, just feeling good because you're on top form and things are under control, that's always a nice thing and you can just feel good about going into the winter. If you end on a bad note, you don't want to finish like that, so you don't have to wait

two or three months before you can't want to finish like that. So you don't have to wait two, three months before you can try and turn things around again. But it's more important for the team, that they have that motivation, they have that boost and that energy going into the winter to just push them on and try and find that more lab time, make the car quicker, because that's what the winter is all about. So make sure we can start the next year even stronger. So it's very important, pretty

more for the team than it is for us as drivers, but yeah, the better anyone can do at any point of the season, the nicer it's going to feel. So it's always trying to do. We're on good form. The team are doing an excellent job, and our goal is to try and maintain where we are till the end. Mr. Baby, what's it like being the veteran on your team? It is definitely slightly different to how I've been the last few years. Just because I've got, I don't know that experience of, I guess, for some working with different teams. That's one of my big things, but that can be the case even if I'm 20 years in Formula 1, I can still do all of it with the Clarence.

There's a little bit of that, but at the same time, there's knowledge, there's always things you pick up along the way. Even though growing up, like I always always say stubborn in terms of never wanting to blame experience as a reason of failing to achieve things. as a reason of failing to achieve things. The more you do, the more you realize that it is a factor and it is something that helps out over time is learning all these things along the way. Sometimes it's very small things, but they all add up over time.

So it feels good. It doesn't feel too different, which is a good thing. I just feel like the team rely on me a little bit more because I have the experience and knowledge of our last few years on what was good, what was bad, how we've done as a team. And I guess that's probably the most different and important thing. Do you feel like tennis and golf are kind of stealing Formula One's thunder now that they have their own Netflix shows too? Absolutely not. They've got nothing on Drive to Survive. Oh, have you watched Full Swing and Breakpoint? Is that what it's called? Yes, I have.

But you're like, this doesn't even compare. You guys don't have me. No. You don't have Daniel and Cardo, Carlos. Yeah, it's just not as exciting. You just don't have as much of a personal rivalries, team competition. tennis, you would easily say, is one of the biggest sports in the world.

I mean, golf is also huge, and Formula One is something that's growing very quickly. But I just feel the experience of supporting people in team events is way higher. I feel like that's why the rider cup is such a big event comparing to normal golfing events. I feel like the team aspect makes it so much more exciting. You don't want to talk about the rider cup here, Lando, let's move on. Oh, what I do. So let's, wow. Okay. Will.
