Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. This is the Dunluba Tarshou with the Stugat's Podcast. Alright, I'm back. We had a fun family outing last night. Well, feelings were a little hurt. You guys had a metal arc outing at the baseball game. I'm not a member of metal arc, but I was invited baseball game
Starting point is 00:00:37 because I'm down here helping out during this tough time. It's a great time. Had a lot of fun. Then I go and look at the Instagram later. It's a big group picture. You know who wasn't there for the group picture. Me. I just waited until I left to do the group picture.
Starting point is 00:00:52 That was the plan. You left before the game ended though. We waited for all nine innings. Really? You didn't get there when it started though. I was there for the first pitch. Same note too Dominique. Same note too.
Starting point is 00:01:08 I didn't put up a picture of you guys. It's what happened to me. They sent Billy the Marlin, and I think they wanted like a group picture with Billy the Marlin, the mascot, and there was like eight people there at the time, so they're like, okay. I got a picture with Billy the Marlin, as did Lucy, and all the other children that were in the suite. Yeah. Lots of kids there, I had a picture with Billy the Marlon as did Lucy and all the other children that were in the sweet
Starting point is 00:01:25 Yeah, lots of kids there. I had a great time. Yeah Lucy was on the floor in the corner Being a kid with the kids stacking things organizing. She was timing them at some point She had a little a little baby combine happening over the side She's let him loosen clock at him and then my son came over there and wanted to tackle people which I'll say all right. Let's go get some ice cream for everybody. I was like let's be gentle He's like I never I'm never gentle. I know one speed You slow down. That's how you get hurt Is it possibly someone's listening yesterday and you're criticizing his dapping abilities? So he said you know what I'm gonna be extra like rugged today
Starting point is 00:02:03 I mean the death was it about being rugged, but I told him that I criticized his DAP in ability because at the game, there were some important daps that he needed to deliver because they heard about him. He delivered some great daps and I gotta say, thank you, Marlins for having us. Billy to Marlin. Bad Dapper.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Bad Dapper. We's got a talk with those hands. Hey, bad, bad, bad, dapper. We's got to talk with those hands. Hey, excuse, excuse, excuse, Tony got here this morning, like a minute or two behind schedule, try to blame it on the train. Don't blame it on the train, Tony, it's on me, that's personal responsibility.
Starting point is 00:02:37 I should have gotten there 10 minutes early. That's what I'm talking about. I don't want to train blames, and don't blame the fin for the dapp. You got to fin, then you figure out a dapp with the fin. You are big like Tom Caulflin on arriving to meetings 15 minutes early, right? I mean, I talk yesterday about being
Starting point is 00:02:51 kind of sports brainwashed in some ways. And that's one thing that I have not been able to shake is I get everywhere super early, it's awkward and weird. I wish I didn't, but I can't shake the anxiety that comes with like when I know I have to do something, I don't know if anyone else is familiar with this, but if I have to be somewhere in an hour, the whole hour leading up to that time is stressful.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Like, I'd rather just get there and be 30 minutes early and just chill, because I can't get anything done in that time. I feel you. I have a question for you. So you went outside and got ice cream for your children at one point in time. And then we saw Tony eating that ice cream.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Was that a different ice cream? For Tony, because we thought that like you handed to him and tended to give to your kids and he just opened it up and started eating it. Because there's only kids and Tony eating the dip and dots that you went outside and purchased yourself. Tony took it from my youngest. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Took it right out of our hands. Three kids, the youngest is very kind and Tony just took it from us. Do you lose? And started eating it. It was unfortunate. No, what happened was my son who is the most outgoing of my children, who went out and bought himself, he has like a Apple Watch with some money on it.
Starting point is 00:04:11 He went out and bought himself in his sister ice cream and then he brought it back into the place and I was like, eh, into the suite that you get that. And I was like, eh, you can't do that. So then I went back and bought a bunch of ice cream for everyone else and then Tony took like three or four of them because that's what Tony do. Cookie dough.
Starting point is 00:04:28 You said that yesterday when we were talking about the recycled pre-game speeches, as Tony is known to do, he believes he can do everything as well, a better than professionals. One of the things you told me is that you think you could deliver a great pre-game speech, Tony. That's right. I'm talking about it, be about it. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Well, what I'm realizing here is that everybody wants to talk and think shit sweet. Shit is not sweet here, okay? We got to work for this every single day. You know who's out there? Who are people making podcasts? A lot of them! I'm not going to mention what their names are, but they're in the top five. And you know who they're coming for us You know they want to do topple us and that's what we got to be here every day to work hard That's why I'm standing up right now. That's why I got Billy standing up right now on my feet
Starting point is 00:05:13 You know why I'm at attention. I'm ready because you know what people are trying to come for what we got Oh, I'm not gonna let that happen. I'm really smiling around here. No smiles. We're here to work today Thank you, Billy. I'm ready to run. We're here to work today. All right, Mike I don't want to see you smiling today, dude. I want to see you locked in game face locked in new haircut new you let's go Stoos here ready to go make up on no smile looking good. Just smoke the heater. Yep. Get ready to smoke the ops I'm waiting in the front sharing a blanket. I like it. Sharing is caring.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Teamwork makes a dream work. A mean wherever he may be, he's ready. I've already talked to him. He's ready. He's already ready. He's ready for his other show. I got to say, the blanket saved you. I wasn't in, but what you called out to share a blanket.
Starting point is 00:06:01 I was like, this is a family. Sharing is caring. We do care, buddy. Studio B, the people in the back. They're ready to go. Born ready again. Warriors, put them on screen right now. Warriors, ready to go.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Look at them. Ready to ride and die for the look of. Let's go. Look at us. Don't die, though. Look how much that listening. Robert's not listening. Where's my kid, see him?
Starting point is 00:06:19 Oh yeah, he's kind of talking. Yeah, exactly. Robert, let's go. Let's go. The whole team ready to go. He just smiled. Yeah. There's no smiling. And's go, the whole team ready to go. He just smiled. Yeah, there's no smiling. And real T-Six is the smiley show.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Down. We'll talk about that later though. Don't just try to hear that. I like, I like, Fuentes Taylor, ready to ride. We ready to ride. I'm certainly not going to argue that we live in anything other than the patriarchy. However, the toilet seat, hmm, should be left up.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Like it did. I did down. I do, I do. I do put it down. Wait, but why are you saying it should be left to hug? Because I accept responsibility for putting the toilet seat up. I mean down, because that's what we all of a accept it. But in actuality, like the reasonable thing to do
Starting point is 00:07:05 is to leave it up. No, so we can fall in. They fall in. Put it down. I have little. You have to put it down. You have to put it down. I'm saying that it's easier.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Put it down, put it back up, leave it up. Then it is, put it down and lift it up all the time. Wait, do you guys now look at the toilet before you sit on said toilet? You learn the hard way. And now I'm falling in. Yeah, do you guys not look at the toilet before you sit or say toilet? You learn the hard way. And now I'm falling in. Yeah, and then I'll always look.
Starting point is 00:07:28 The reason why I say that is because again, I have children, I have one son, and it's, if you leave the toilet seat up and my daughter's check, they're good. If you leave it down and my son doesn't check, then we got a dirty seat. So that's all I'm saying is what you're asking is you're trusting every man to do the right thing
Starting point is 00:07:48 all the time in actuality. Take some accountability for yourself. I'm with you, I do. Next. The standard of the standard. Why don't you guys just look. Should it just make me down? Should it just make me down?
Starting point is 00:07:58 Okay, okay. Okay, it just makes me feel like our families are doing. Are you walking with your eyes closed? Like I don't get it. You're just assuming every seat is down. You're just assuming that every scene is down. Yeah, it's telling the seat is up and the seat is down. I haven't left this seat up since 98.
Starting point is 00:08:10 I'm just saying, practically, the reasonable thing to do is because- So you're saying we were asking for it? Okay. Has an inspirational speech ever caused a schism? Yeah. Great job. Wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:08:22 Wait a minute for me. Iron sharp and zyron. I lost interest in a patriotic one. Iator for it. Iron sharp and zyron. I lost interest in the Patriot Act. You know what I found out? It wasn't about horses. Oh, Barbie, great picture. Did you guys like Barbie? I loved it.
Starting point is 00:08:32 I did. Haven't seen you yet. Not surprised. Patriarchy trying to perpetuate it or I mean. I just went to see Oppenheimer and then I haven't been back. Oh, of course. Oppenheim. Lou.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Oppie. Maybe. Will you ever see it? What, Barbie? Yeah. I saw it on opening night with my daughter. Good answer. Good answer.
Starting point is 00:08:52 I still haven't seen Oppenheimer. I do want to see it, but I haven't seen it yet. Little long, but really good. Sound freedom guy. If you haven't picked one, you're picking Barbie, right? Haven't seen that one either, Mike. Less than two hours long. Sorry, bitch, I should work nine.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Sorry. I for work done. I do feel like. The question is, is Mike gonna watch Sound of Freedom? No. Oh, okay. No, I see where we are. I'm like, it's fine. I heard that was great. Yeah, no, I've heard it's great too.
Starting point is 00:09:17 That's heard it. People have told me it's great all the time. Mike's gonna watch you in a hit streaming services. He can't be seen watching Sound of Freedom in person. No, can't. I mean, I feel like you're better off seeing it in person. I'm not gonna see it in person. I got a name for like monumental things.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Monumental thing. I mean, like super important. Good filmmakers. The, uh, the Cavizel's crazy ass. Yeah, I can't go see that. Even if I was interested in it. I'd rather see Tom Cruise's crazy ass.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Yep. So that was great. Great. And we can't say that we can't rank it yet in because we still can't because they're telling one story. So it's unfair to say this is better than dead reckoning part one because it's just part one of dead reckoning. These part one of four right? I hope so. Yes. Spider-Man's been the best movie this year so far. Oh. The multiverse thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:05 I'm a multiverse. I like the scene in the flash when the baby's on. That was Spider-Man. Yeah. And then Barbie by that. Yeah. I feel you on the tide of multiverses, but that's a pretty good story. You saw it, I assume.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Uh, no, I haven't seen any. You can't see it. No, you can't. Judd, did you haven't seen it? I'm getting to it. I mean, it was so much judgment. It's now available on digital, which means now it's on myplex. It's not my size. It's not my size. It's so much judgment. It's now available on digital, which means now it's on my plex.
Starting point is 00:10:25 It's on my plex. I was talking about this yesterday, how the polarization that we all experience means that certain things that used to believe in or used to have skepticism about, you can no longer have skepticism. I find myself like a fan of the FBI. It's real weird to place to be in for a black man.
Starting point is 00:10:43 It's really uncomfortable where you're like, hey, trust everything. Coming from me, it's a real weird place to be in for a black man. It's really uncomfortable where you're like, hey, trust everything, coming from me, it's real hard. Like, uh. Trust the authorities. Don't forget this out. I hate that. I hate that I find myself in the place where I'm like, hey, you know those people over there that are in charge?
Starting point is 00:10:58 Why don't we believe them? I will watch down to freedom, I guess, if there's- You don't have to say that. It's growing. No, it's just, it's become like a, people identify with it. It's a, You'll watch it when it gets to you.
Starting point is 00:11:11 You're not going out of your way to watch it. Well, it's just like, I guess I identified with Bourbon Himer, so I'm talking out of both sides of my political meetings. I watched Blindside, so that's kind of like Sound of Freedom. Right, same thing. It's the same formula. Probably similar audiences.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Yeah, targeting. Yeah, both. Yeah, targeting. It's funny now that Michael Orr and I guess we'll get to this again later in the show. I wasn't happy with how we discussed it yesterday. I gotta be honest. I think we won a lot of segments yesterday.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Michael Orr's segment was L. We gotta come back on that. But I did rewatch some clips from the movie and I've never seen the movie before because I was on the team with Michael and he like openly, I was like, yeah, it's movie sucks and I was like, all right, cool. That should have been our first hint, right? I was like, I don't want to see it.
Starting point is 00:12:00 He didn't really love the book. He didn't really appreciate the movie and I was like, yeah, I'm good on that. But I watched some clips last night and We as a country really love that movie and now everyone's turning on it like y'all assholes was eating it up back there like yeah Save that big black man white ladies save him maybe feel good Green book done libbert. Why are you guys
Starting point is 00:12:25 blurting out safety names? It's the best game ever. Little while ago we were talking about an art Pollard and now I think we're just playing a game in the studio where we're just naming safeties. Yeah. Kind of like the 90s baseball player
Starting point is 00:12:39 game. Like a couple minutes ago I just blurted out Brock Marion. Great work. And it made a few people happy. Yep. Still got Bob Sanders. Yeah. No, he was early in the list. Classic.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Very cathartic. Yeah. Adam Archaleda. Not a good safety. No, but a great name in a name. He had a run name alone. Sounds like he should be better. Adam was a good safety for a few years.
Starting point is 00:13:03 Did someone say Brock Marion? Yeah. So that's where this was. That was a gambit. Hey listen, I'm struggling with memories I get older. This is the Don Lebertar Show with this two gods. What's up, man? What's up, man? What's up, man?
Starting point is 00:13:16 What's up, man? What's up, man? What's up, man? What's up, man? What's up, man? What's up, man? What's up, man? What's up, man?
Starting point is 00:13:24 What's up, man? What's up, man? What's action, including seeing game Paul A's, props, live betting, and so much more. You just go down when you sign up on a DraftKings sports book app to check it out. Messy! I'm in, baby. I was at the baseball game. I enjoyed the baseball game.
Starting point is 00:13:38 I don't mean to disparage the baseball game at all. I enjoyed the Marlins. Yeah, thank you. It was fun. They lost, but it was a close game. It was enjoyable. However, I did a lot of peeking over my man, Mike Ryan's shoulder, a lot of peeking over shoulder because you know what he had set up. He had a little Apple TV device set up there watching messy. Those pink jerseys, Bousquet, Alba, there you go. Analysis complete. That's all I got for you, baby. Sockers, Faker, right? Come on, Billy.
Starting point is 00:14:06 I'm just asking, like this guy comes in. He scores nine goals in like six games. He's leading the team in goals. They have more wins of when he was on the team and like 22 games. Like he's making it look too easy. That goal that he scored, he hit from like the other side of the field practically. It looked like it was just like a bowling ball, just kind of rolling a bounce. I got the end. It didn't seem that hard to stop. I am enjoying watching Mike's face.
Starting point is 00:14:26 No, it's fun. Like I'm not saying it's not fun. It's fun. It's good for, you know, the city, the team, the league, whatever. For a long time. That's a whole nother. So should we hold on before you get to that? Should we, should we start calling it sports entertainment now?
Starting point is 00:14:40 Like, I think that's fair. Put it in the wrestling category. Stopper didn't like his real sports. Let's go sports entertain. There's nothing wrong with that label. And I don't I mean, WWE's worth billions of dollars. What's the MLS would love that, right? I just I don't understand one, the made up cup, right?
Starting point is 00:14:56 Where they're actively like postponing actual games in the league for this cup that didn't exist before real Real games. Real games. Meaningful games. Well, I don't know. I don't know what's a meaningful game. It's forced entertainment. It's just really the meaning is just to entertain us, right? So they're moving actual league games and every game he scores.
Starting point is 00:15:17 How's it possible? And they tell us he's 36. He can't play a certain turf. And this and that. It's really just fine. I really just find. I really appreciate how they gave us that short, like, injury storyline. They tested the injury storyline and then they're like, no, we can't do that. They put them back out there, put them back out there, scrap it.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Yeah. Well, that's another thing. Why is a guy playing 90 minutes into a game when they're up four to one? If he has this injury, it seems like not a great idea to put them out there. The guy's your entire team. He's your entire league. He's Apple. He's MLS. He's everything for this league. Why do you have him out there in a game that other teams not gonna come back and it seems risky? Mike. No, but all excellent points. All of it.
Starting point is 00:15:59 To be rigged. I would say rigged. I said it seems fake. Well, it's not rigged. Like the guy is clearly playing in a league that he doesn't belong in, right? The league's not good enough. I appreciate, look, I guess Apple's marketing strategy is working and it's a great move for the league for you guys to realize that Messi is good at soccer. He doesn't say everywhere.
Starting point is 00:16:16 I have MLS plus package, whatever it is. Yeah, I got it for free with T-Mobile. Yeah, I still have it. He's only got nine goals. I mean how many games six Mike say you're saying that he does this all the time nine goals six games. I'm saying that's like a little above his normal output I mean keep in mind he was sharing the ball with guys like him bop Bay and and name are in his last place other people were eating too but it's also It's also not exactly accurate when
Starting point is 00:16:47 people say they just plugged Messy into the worst team in the league and they got better. Yeah, he got plugged into the team, but so did Buskets, so did Alba, Alba scored yesterday, Buskets has been dynamite. New manager for brand new manager, so a lot has changed and we're game removed from them having to go to pens and conceding four goals. So he's not running through this league like a hot knife through butter. Yeah. Individually, he's been seller, but he's not doing anything unmessy like this isn't like, oh, this guy was watched at the tail end of his career. The guy scored a brace
Starting point is 00:17:20 in the World Cup Final against France six months ago. I think you can score a goal against Philadelphia Union. All right, the ultimate test for whether this is real or fake is can we predict the storylines? So like I think we need to see if we can predict what goes on next. I think it has to be something physical. Like I think they lean into the messy injury. At some point he's got to miss a couple games and we have to see how the team does without him. Like that into the messy injury. At some point, he's got to miss a couple games
Starting point is 00:17:45 and we have to see how the team does without them. Like that's the next move they'll lose. Yeah, and then we build it up for the big comeback for the first knockout game. So I have a question, well, the next game's a championship, right, in this tournament. Yeah, that to the regular season. First ever, we don't, we don't.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Well, this is all like, well, so there's a storyline. So regular season, how does a storyline go in this? Does he win the championship in his first time? Or does he miss some of it? And then they lose? And then there's like, vengeance for next year? No, they have that storyline. This is the first year of the cup. Right. This is the first year of this cup. However, he doesn't have to wait that long for his second opportunity at Hardware because the oldest trophy in professional US soccer is no no no the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. It's a that's tennis. They're football. I mean real football. They're inner Miami made it to the
Starting point is 00:18:40 semifinals without Messi. They're playing FC Cincinnati, but that fixture is next week. And so if they make it to the final, there's actually talk that if they host the final, that final gets moved to Hard Rock Stadium down here. So he actually has a little home cooking. Yeah, and through the victory last night, through the victory last night against Philadelphia, they punched their ticket to next year's
Starting point is 00:19:03 ConkaCaf Champions League. Because the top three in the league's cup automatically qualify. Philadelphia, they punch their ticket to next year's ConkaCaf Champions League because the top three in the league's cup automatically qualify. So like all major soccer leagues across the planet, there are about three to four competitions going on simultaneously throughout the season and they're all regular season. I guess the hard rock would be a neutral field, right? Yeah, that's not a home field, no home cooking there. Double road game, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Different county. I love when you get to punch a ticket nothing like punches for it's yeah it was it was my hope that it was my hope that if this guy came into town and performed at a high level we'd stop talking about it the way that we had doing it we're talking soccer right now would we be talking about the right MLS no it's it's cup. It's, I think it's cup. What this move has done. Midseason tournament. What I love most about this move,
Starting point is 00:19:50 outside of being a season ticket holder, a day one supporter of the franchise, being super happy for my hometown, not close to Book of Retone, but the general region of it. And for the United States to have messy and primetime and realize, hey, this is pretty cool and pretty good. What I find coolest about it
Starting point is 00:20:09 is someone that's watched messy basically my entire soccer-loving life is he's having the most fun I've ever seen him have. And it could be a combination of things. It could be post-winning the World Cup and that pressure's off his shoulders, but we did have a sample of him in Paris after he won the World Cup and he was visibly not the same guy. He's having fun, he's cheesing it up. It's done the impossible. The
Starting point is 00:20:33 move to Miami has made Lionel Messi charismatic. I saw him try to stand up for one of his teammates last night and I was impressed. I appreciate it, but I also was thinking, hey guys, what are the rest of you doing? Like, this is a, hey, this guy scores the goals, you guys do the dirty work. But he's also team captain. He's also team captain. Yeah, it's been coming upon the team captain
Starting point is 00:20:57 to mix it up like that. Yeah, but to Billy's point, you don't want to make a game. He's so important to the team and the league that when you're up for one, you should probably take him out and to dominate each point. You don't want that guy being your force. I, I, it's actually really, there's a reason. There's a reason. There's a reason. There's a reason Wade had Haslam, Jordan had, you know, Oplea, Rodman. He's got, he's got, he's got other people there to be enforcers and some people have tried testing him. And I
Starting point is 00:21:21 imagine if, if they were playing Monterey, Monterey probably doesn't have the message from the league, which is hey, protect the money maker, keep him fit. I'm not saying let him run rough shot. However, it was a little curious. And this thing always surrounds messy, be it all the, it's usually sending from Ronaldo fans, but the conspiracy theorist said it was all predetermined.
Starting point is 00:21:43 And they just wanted messy to win the cup because the host country said as much. I have never seen Philadelphia play that poorly. And it's not just because they run into Lionel Messi. They gave Messi so much face early on. That is the best defensive team in MLS. As a reigning Eastern Conference champion, and they got blitz from the start You saw in the second half them kind of settle in and you saw what the game plan was but they kind of got starry I'd they kind of got sorry I'd early on I actually thought Philadelphia had a decent chance of winning that game
Starting point is 00:22:16 Should be noted that they were missing Karanso who's a former inner Miami player who's a DP for them and a tremendous player He had a hamstring pool. I think got really good players in Philadelphia. And if that was your first time watching Philadelphia Union, you think that the league is a joke. Part of the reason why we end up in a bad place talking about this sport in a way that annoys Mike Ryan and probably annoys other MLS fans is because, I don't know shit.
Starting point is 00:22:40 So you said a bunch of names and a bunch of things, and I would like to respond with expert analysis back in your direction. I don't know shit. So you said a bunch of names and a bunch of things and I would like to respond with expert analysis back in your direction. I don't got that. So you know what? It's fake. Yeah, but I don't know shit about a bunch of the sports that we're talking about. Like I try my best.
Starting point is 00:22:54 You know how many college basketball teams there are? You know how many I closely follow? Like I know the ACC and when other people speak with authority, I tend to listen. Like when Billy has opinions, when Chris has opinions on baseball, I'm not gonna pretend like I have conviction on these things. I'll fake it and set other people up. I'm trying, as I grow older, I'm trying to take the piss less. You know, I don't, people like these things,
Starting point is 00:23:19 people are informed on these things, and I understand that we have to speak largely for a group of audience that doesn't care. But look, Chelsea Liverpool is most streamed soccer match in the history of soccer in this country. They got almost million streams on peacock as media is evolving, as MLS itself is evolving, as we gear up towards this nation hosting a World Cup in 2026. You have a right to be bullish, and I think as a nation, we should probably stop being so sarcastic when we talk about it.
Starting point is 00:23:49 I think that I've decided that I'm gonna give myself some sports homework. One, get smarter and soccer. Two, watch your baseball game. It's one. Looking for you, there's a World Cup final. In less than a week, Sunday morning, gotta get up a little early.
Starting point is 00:24:03 I think the game starts at five, maybe six. Australia lost this morning, very sad for the material. They did? They did, three to one. It was such a heartbreaker. Sam Kerr had one of the most gorgeous shots I've ever seen to tie up the match. Plus two sixi on that.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Came back scored two more goals. Sam Kerr missed a couple opportunities. And now England will be playing Spain which is a really interesting match up because of everything going on with Spain and their federation so you should all tune in if you want to you know watch some high level soccer it's going to be a great match what's going on with Spain their federation well well I know they like hate the manager everyone hates hates the coach, Jorge Vieldeb, because he apparently is not showing a lot of professionalism. There's a lot of issues that the players have with the way
Starting point is 00:24:50 that they've been treated. So a number of players wrote a letter to the Spanish Federation ahead of the World Cup and said to not call them up to the World Cup team. They didn't want to play on the national team. So a couple players did end up playing on the team, but a lot stayed at home. So some of Spain's best, most talented players are not even on the roster. And they a couple players did end up playing on the team, but a lot stayed at home. So some of Spain's best, most talented players
Starting point is 00:25:07 are not even on the roster. And they still made it to the final, which is crazy. And they are still not happy with the way that things have been handled by the Federation. So it's a very interesting kind of tense vibe within that team right now. And there's been a lot of clips of star players not wanting to shake hands,
Starting point is 00:25:25 not wanting to celebrate with the coach. Now that Alsteria is out, we got a room for Spain to win, just so we can see how awkward it gets in the celebration. Like the biggest achievement in all the professional sports, winning the World Cup, but we hate the guy who let us there.
Starting point is 00:25:40 That sounds fun. You know, the NL has a DH now? More sports homework. I need to watch show Heyo Tani. Like, I gotta do it. I promise I'm gonna do it. Don't let me talk! You know what a razor is, Dan? I do not know. I don't know what a
Starting point is 00:25:55 motor roller razor is. You don't? No. I bet you you had one. I did not have one. Really? Let's walk through your phone history. What kind of phone? I never had a motor roller razor. I did not have a motor roller razor. What was kind of phone? I never had a motor racer. I did not have a motor racer.
Starting point is 00:26:05 What was your first phone? Ooh. Not a motor racer. A telegraph machine after that. The motor racer, Dan, was the one that was like really, really thin that it flipped over, but it was like as thin as like a razor blade. That's why they called it the razor. What is a telegraph machine?
Starting point is 00:26:20 I don't know. They had one in down nabby. Still gots. The Titanic stop. sunk in stop! John take a bath to stop! Is missing! Stop! You think that was my phone? You think that my first phone was the Titanic's emergency signal? This is the Don Lebertar show with the STUGATS!
Starting point is 00:26:42 show with a stugat. Presented by Draft King Sportsbook, one of America's top rated sportsbook apps. Draft King's has all kinds of ways to get in on the action, including same game parles, props, live betting, and so much more. Use code Dan when you sign up on the Draft King Sportsbook app to check it out. All right, so first of all, I feel like we need to name the portion of the show, like at the end of every segment, there's like a spot where you can get one good line in or one good word, and then we need to name for that, because I feel like maximizing that is important.
Starting point is 00:27:21 You know like they say movies, people only love the movies that end well. Like the whole movie can be great, it has a bad ending, it's a terrible movie. I feel the same way about a segment. We can get it with a perfect joke in that, I don't know, that alley at the end of the show. You wanna stick the landing. Yeah, right, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:36 So we're calling it the landing, Tony. You tried, I liked it, I think you did. But you know what, I came in over the top and messed up your landing. You're good, I thought that you needed a second, so I was gonna give you know what? I came in over the top and messed up your landing. You're good. I thought that you needed a second, so I was gonna give you that second.
Starting point is 00:27:48 I gave it and then you said something in the middle, so I got in between. That's on me, that's on me. I'll take that one. That's my responsibility. We'll work on it. We'll get better. I got it in my spot.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Personal, you know. Yeah, I appreciate it. We have Charlotte here via Zoom. What up? Hi guys, how are you? Good, also. Amine has joined us in studio. Three women on at the same time. What woman's topic are we gonna talk about now?
Starting point is 00:28:11 Because we have three women on at the same time. We did. We had three black people yesterday. We did it. Yeah. We had three. We had three. And this place is still open. My man Tony gave us pre-game speech and so I was wondering you've been around sports your whole life. Have you ever given a pre-game speech? One time and it was terrible and I wish I remember the particulars. It was something about like they're coming for our way of life or something like that. Like it was who are you speaking to? Who are you speaking to? Who are you speaking to? I'm speaking to like the young kids on our team. This is like a preseason.
Starting point is 00:28:50 I might have even been like a scrimmage now, I think about it, but it was just, it was something online that coming for your way of life. Like, you know what? You want to make a rain in a club? No. You're coming for your way of life. You know what the key is to a good pregame speech
Starting point is 00:29:04 is what I realized afterward is, and Tony, you made this mistake. You tried to launch right into like, you gotta tell them a story, man. You gotta set it up. You gotta set it up with a story. And there are certain things you have to say twice. Like I listened to Michael Irving's pre-game speech
Starting point is 00:29:19 that he did here that he recreated. Right, I guess he did it before an FSU game or a half time of an FSU game. He says everything twice for the good. For the good. Nice. But very pretty early. But that's when you reach the crescendo, right?
Starting point is 00:29:34 Like before you get there, you gotta be like, I was on my way here and I stopped off in a corner, so I thought it's old man, he was bent over, right? There's gotta be a whole story behind it about how the old man, even though he couldn't stand up straight, he was still sweeping in front of his store because he had pride. Pride.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Pride. That's what I know every single one of you in this room has. Pride. And even when you're back certain, even when you build up, and then you start doing the double talk. Yes. And the raising of the thing.
Starting point is 00:30:03 Charlotte, what is a James? What is a James Harden pregame speech look like? I feel like he's going to use their coming for our way of life. He's very big in his way of life. Well, I first have a question for me and I mean, are you talking about the young kids on the sons or is this like a youth basketball situation? This is, yeah, this was, this is in my professional life. No, let's go youth kids. They're coming for our Capri Sons. We won't stand for it. Yeah. I love Capri Sons.
Starting point is 00:30:30 I mean, who doesn't? Who doesn't? Who among us? Some people don't like them. No, who are they? I don't know. We should call them out right now. I don't like Capri Sons.
Starting point is 00:30:38 All right, get her up on the wall. Like, that's right. Wall. Coming up for our way of life. Pick me out of the studio, but now we're gonna shoot me. Yeah, well, look, I didn't say that. Whoa, nobody said that. Nobody said anything about an SU.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Anyway, well, I was trying to throw it to Charlotte so we could go with this James Harden topic and you, he then took it back, so it's Charlotte. It was Charlotte's fault. Yeah. Yeah. I derailed it on purpose so that I could think about what James Harden's pre-games. and took it back. So it's Charlotte. It was Charlotte's fault. It's just. Yeah. She threw it back. I derailed it on purpose so that I can think about
Starting point is 00:31:07 what James Harden's pregame. So James Harden, he would say, Darryl Mori is a liar five times and then stopped talking. Well, I mean, he did do that. Like, like, Darryl... But like, that's what you do in the locker room. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Hey guys, let's get wild though. Darryl Mori is a liar. And I don't want to be a part of this anymore. Let me say it again. I mean, we have had lots of pre-game speeches that is us versus them. Like, pre-game speeches always us versus them. You have to decide who the them is in the context.
Starting point is 00:31:36 It's the world. Yeah, but I mean, I've had been on teams where the pre-game speech was us against upstairs. Yes. And during training camp, in particular, it's like, look, it's us first them. They're looking for a reason to trade. They're looking for a reason to cut you. They don't care much.
Starting point is 00:31:50 When their trade talks out there about players, that is always the center of the pregame speech. And the coach, at that point, the coach who had been hanging out with the GM all, all, all offseason is now like, I don't know about that. I'm with you guys. I'm now here in the trenches with you guys.
Starting point is 00:32:03 That's always my favorite when we're we're definitely saying the people upstairs or they're they're evil. They want they want to break everything up. They don't believe in you. Da-da-da. We go and we know we're not going to give them an excuse. We'll go out there. We go win and then people are going to be like, why'd y'all break it up? I feel like the heart and saga as much as heart and the celebrity, he's not the player that he once was. Whenever I think of the 76ers and I think about James Hardin or Darryl Mori, I think about Joelle and Bied. So Charlotte, would it mind to take away from any of this and how Joelle and Bied feels
Starting point is 00:32:36 about it is and how any of this is impacting his future with the team? Well, I mean, it's obviously a total mess. Like James Hardin is, there's something going on. I want to know what Darryl Mory lied about because if it's that he said, you know, if you take a pay cut this year, then we'll, you know, we'll give you a little something on when it's time. And that's not allowed. So then he'd be in a ton of trouble.
Starting point is 00:33:00 But if he said something like, you know, I promised I'll trade you if you opt into your contract. And I think it all depends on what the actual lie was if there was a lie. And Joe LNB, meanwhile, is just standing there very tall being like, uh, can we, are you going to press me? Like, what's going on? Yeah, I'm actually in between them. He trying to keep up, you know, like at a UFC fight the way in.
Starting point is 00:33:25 I got like a heart. Dana White. That's what Charlotte is right now. What's in the lie you mean for? Did they ask Cardin to opt in? I don't know, Tragey. I don't know what the lies, I don't know if anyone knows what the lies. Because there's a couple of things, right?
Starting point is 00:33:38 It could be, hey, take this smaller deal and then we'll take care of you next summer. It could be, hey, if you opt in, it'll make it easier for us to trade you. There's a couple of things there that could have been the things. But to me, it's irrelevant because what you're talking about, Dom, is the big thing, which is regardless of whether he liked him there, he liked him there, he didn't lie to him. He kind of insinuated whatever it is the reality is This is Mori's guy. Yeah, it's his guy right and his guy has turned on him And this is the guy that he went out and traded picks and obviously Ben Sims didn't want to be there or whatever
Starting point is 00:34:16 So this is a guy he's paid 225 million dollars to but specifically in Philadelphia's two guys right this is your mess Yeah, there's one guy on this roster who preceded Darryl Mori one but specifically in Philadelphia's two guys. Right. This is your mess. Yeah. There's one guy on this roster who preceded Darryl Mori. One, Jo Ellen Beade, the one, the good one, right? Everyone else here is here because of Darryl Mori. So regardless of whether hardness is mistaken or hardness is one on a point, if you're Jo Ellen Beade, you're gonna be like,
Starting point is 00:34:40 hey dude, you made this mess. You, I thought you were gonna fix it. There's a point that happened and I don't know what we're pointing at, but we, you made this mess. I thought you were gonna fix it. There's a point that happened and I don't know what we're pointing at, but we're all looking at each other. Well I think Dominique was pointing at Charlotte. Like, right. I, I, I, I, I.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Oh see, dumb, I, I can't see that. When you point, I see a sideways finger come into the camera. I don't see it pointing at my screen. Well when there's an awkward pause like that, you could say Charlotte. I could. Yeah, you could.
Starting point is 00:35:04 I'm having a rough start. I'm having a rough start. I'm having a rough start. No, you I could. Yeah, you could. I'm having a rough start. I'm having a rough start. I'm having a rough start. No, you're okay. We're getting better, man. I'm, I don't, hey. The one thing I don't do is patronization. I'm a rough start.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Dominion is what I sell. Rough start. Let's focus. Hold on, hold on, hold on. On my way here, I walk past this corner store. There's an old man like me. His back was hurting, right? But like he kept...
Starting point is 00:35:27 I mean, hold on, hold on. You think shit is sweet, huh? That's what you think. That's what I'm talking about. You think that Dan's gonna let you do this again with that hate talk? Hell no. Yeah, Dan will never let me come out here. Work for free.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Again, after that, thanks Dan. He kept dropping the broom, right? I don't want to hear the rest of this, please. But even though he was dottering and all, he kept reaching down and dropping the broom right? I want to get the rest of this, please. But like even though he was dottering and though he kept reaching down and getting the broom because you know what? We're not defined by our mistakes, Dominique. And now I'm turning it to actual somehow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:55 We're not defined by our mistakes. We're defined by how we react to those mistakes. Speaking of mistakes, I think just about everything they've done in Philadelphia has been a mistake. And the sad part about this whole situation to me, Charlotte, is that I don't see a way out. Like, what is the way out? I don't think there is one. I feel like my favorite, my favorite thing that people say in pre-game speeches is we're going to burn the boats. Like, I always thought that was hilarious because like, what boat did you row here like the whole analogy is just like insane to me and I feel like Darryl Moring, James Hardin are burning the boats and for the
Starting point is 00:36:35 rest of the team without the rest of the team's consent and then the team is stranded on also in the boat situation are we on an island did we take a bridge and burn the bridge so we can't the New World. What's going on? We came to the New World and then we burned the boats and then we brought smallpox with this. And then we ruined absolutely everything. Your speeches are horrible. I feel like the hardened and more are both too stubborn for there to be any clean way
Starting point is 00:37:02 out of this. I feel like the Sixers are going to implode before anybody come. It's like a battle of the egos at this point. They're both like, well, it's a game of chicken. I don't know. Charlotte gets five fleck bucks for mentioning rowing the boats. Nice. Good job, Charlotte. That made you can smoke weed. All you want this week like I do regardless I Think that was how you got out of drug test Wow, okay now you sold me again on bj flag hold on now hold on. Yeah, I believe it by I mean If I speak it out of turn I think I read the article and suggested that
Starting point is 00:37:39 Mr. Flex the flex bucks for acting right? I mean keep up Yeah, and for like going to do community service and stuff and the people who high on flex bucks could use them to buy themselves out of drug tests and other things. Really smart man, hold on man. Like you hold the carrot here and you say just do this stuff here that no one likes to do and like you they have go and they're doing it and somebody even end up liking doing it.
Starting point is 00:38:03 But they're racking up P.A. Flagbox, but can you then sell Flagbox to other teammates? I think so, I think. One Flagbox is 0.003, Dogecoin. Oh. It's gotta be a Black market to Flagbox or a white market. I don't know, I don't know. I'm just a market.
Starting point is 00:38:21 I mean, the original market, we're talking about once you sell it amongst your your teammates The 76ers we're done talking about 76ers. They're gonna be sad. They need to trade Joe LnB to move on and start all the way over to Miami. They need to turn to Miami right only Miami Yeah, this is for nothing. This is what you do you call day. He's a hey, I know you wanted to play with bam But what if I told you I could turn bam into Joe LnB Jimmy Butler David Lillard and Joel and Vee? Come on, man. Who says no? Three team deal and no one's upset because an ulcerer heads somewhere. My Amy doesn't just do the Tyler Ero thing. There's an eye and fix everything.
Starting point is 00:38:59 There's also the possibility like we're assuming that James Hartton means to things that he says. I don't know that James heart and cares I think he just wants out of town. I think he probably loves Darmore He just wants to call him an asshole so he can get traded watch oddball every day on YouTube every day DKN don't miss it. How the landing? Stuck it Don't let it hard. Chris Cody does an impression just be careful dangerous game There's a dangerous game. I don't want to play this game. No, you say man. I could do such's a dangerous game. I don't want to play this game
Starting point is 00:39:25 No, you say man. I could do such a great. Oh, I don't want to play this game. He's like man I This is who we're gonna trust me. Let's let a mean do it. I think I think you could do it Chris because you did a great Charles Barkley your one for one there did no one just hear the segment we just did with the mean we cannot be taking judgment is not the House from the local drunk on whether or not you Should do the impersonation of a black man stumbling over his words like you don't see the bad Moza moody moody moody moody moody We got it like We cannot do this. It's too close to the line.
Starting point is 00:40:07 This is where the line is. Something legitimately funny can't be funny because we're scared our ginger is going to do something racist by accident. Carry the hell on, Dan. Rachel. Dan, the line is where we feel alive, though. This is the Dalabatar show with the Stugat.
Starting point is 00:40:23 This is the Dalabata show with this two cats So one of the things with the hard and thing and I'm curious to know your thoughts I mean is it seems like the mainstream media that has these partnerships with the NBA is finally circling back to James Hardin's deal last year and Like you guys mentioned you don't know exactly why he's calling him a liar. He could just be trying to start James Harden himself might not be knowing. But I do believe him a little bit more because he said, allow me to repeat that. So, and that's how you know, let me say it again. That's how you know he feels strongly about that. Very sysco of him. I think I'll sing it again. I'll sing it again. You got dumps, I got truck, truck. How, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, how do I, folks, and let me just say, I claim to Mrs. Metc for any else
Starting point is 00:41:26 all that ass as my ass. It's, we have a lot of weird things that are cannon on this show, but anytime we talk Mrs. Metc, I think Jim Bofischer. That's a weird timing in. I'm not even really sure how that all happened. I can't wait for my trip down to Miami to play the hurricane games this year. And hopefully Mrs. Mets is going to be watching too.
Starting point is 00:41:48 Why was she being Miami? Watching on TV? And I'll give her a little smooch in the camera. A smooch. You know what I'm finding? What I was trying to get at was this was obvious while it was happening that this was, I guess where you could push back is, the perception is, here's the theory, James Harden took less, so they could sign guys like PJ Tucker, someone else I forget.
Starting point is 00:42:15 Daniel Hauss. Yeah, Daniel Hauss and so. Yeah, to improve the team, there are chances of winning a title last year, and then they'd sweeten the pot for James when he came back up. And then that's where we can all perceive the deal when sideways. And the only notion against that is what was James Hardin's market value last year? Would he have found someone to give him the full max or at least what he was, what he opted out of? What do you believe? So there's a lot of things, right?
Starting point is 00:42:41 So there's, there's, there's that. Then there's the league investigated them and docked them a couple of things, right? So there's that, then there's the league investigated them and docked them a couple of second-round pay. Right, because the tampering only happened with PJ Tucker and Daniel House. It didn't happen at all with the contract that made it possible. There's so many parallels to the Joe Smith fine.
Starting point is 00:42:59 Well, the Joe Smith one always go down in history because they had it in writing. And exactly because they had it in writing. And the reason they had it in writing was because they weren't sure, the Joe and his agent weren't sure that Glentaylor would be alive long enough to honor the deal. This happened in 2000. I want to say 2001. It is now 2023. Glentaylor still with us.
Starting point is 00:43:22 And if you've seen Glentaylor, if you've seen a picture of Google it right now, if you haven't, he looked like that in 2000. Secret aging. Well, the secret aging is looking like you're on Death's Door for 20 years. Yes. So Abe Vagoda just had a career. So it's, there's that part of it.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Let me ask you this. How do they, how do they ping them for tampering on the contracts that James Harden made possible? They didn't, they ping them on illegal contact with PJ Tucker and Daniel House before. Right, but illegal contact wouldn't be made if they didn't have this cap room that James Harden made possible.
Starting point is 00:43:58 So how are they not looking deeper? This was, this was obvious to everyone. Rubin divest himself and then you, you'd figure that James Harden makes it up with fanatics endorsements. We said this as it was happening. And now that it's gotten ugly, everyone's circling back to say,
Starting point is 00:44:13 hey, that was curious, and the league looked into this, and the sixers who have historically always been ringing the bell for other teams. They did this with Kyle Lowry. Yes. So that's where i'm coming from it yet all that that that that that that that that's no that's my son that's more clarity on chip's on the table like they they were upset
Starting point is 00:44:34 because he got cala rean they didn't have a shot and then they do the same thing with pj tucker and they circumvent the salary cap to do so and get hurt by it well i mean and then they have people carrying water on mainstream media while the superstars do in the same exact thing that Damien Lillard's trying to do. So I'm curious, when does the league do something about this? What are they supposed to do? Do more.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Do what they did with Damien Lillard. What did they do? What they did with Damien Lillard? But they didn't do anything with, they put out a memo. Okay, but they haven't done that with this. But the memo said this doesn't just apply to Damien Lillard. It applies to every situation.
Starting point is 00:45:06 And immediately after that, what does James Harden do? Okay, but that's not message not received. Yeah, but he didn't say I want to play only for the clippers. He has been, but he didn't say that. His reps did. He didn't say that out loud. Damien Lillard didn't say it out loud. He played Will Smith in the background.
Starting point is 00:45:22 His rep, but it means, his rep said it, which you know it, you know what that means. But it comes from James Harden. Where did his rep say it out loud. He played Will Smith in the background. His rep said it, which you know what you know what that means. But it comes from James Huller. Where did his rep say it? Well, Mike is saying that the rep said it. Where it was it was the old world report that he wants the clippers. Again, there's a difference between according the sources, they're pushing for the clippers and coming out on the record and saying, my client will only play for the Miami. When did he when did they come out on the record and saying, my client will only play for the Miami.
Starting point is 00:45:46 When did they come out on the record and say that? God, man, it was a... Because it feels pretty similar. I'm not gonna do the defensive thing. Like, I just did that because I wanted to undercut what people are gonna come at me with. What I'm saying is, this was obvious as it was happening. I mean, it was obvious what was gonna happen
Starting point is 00:46:02 as soon as Ruben divested himself from owner. That they going to circumvent the salary cap and then when James Harden What I want answered to me really is what was the market for James Harden last year? Was he going to get the same kind of offer because Houston was out there as a team that would have given James Harden a supermax No, yeah, so here's the thing he opted out of 40 plus mill He may not have gotten five years max or four years max somewhere else or whatever. He also wasn't gonna get 30 over two, or 60 over two basses.
Starting point is 00:46:34 He's getting 33 this season. Like 63 is what he signed or whatever. Whatever that number was, everyone recognized that was well below his market value. And not only that, to take a well below market value and also say, play a style of play that's not going to make you look dominant. Now, even though that's the funny thing I said everybody's like, he had a great year. Yeah, his season actually went better than you would expect considering his physique.
Starting point is 00:46:59 But the last time we saw him was a game seven, I think against the Celtics, he had six points. No, but it means about to make a good point. Six points. He had a really good. He led the lead. No, I know he did. What on you? He led the league in a sys. 20 and 10 shot the second best three point percentage of his career and played a role that everyone said he could never play. Oh, he'll know he can. He has to have the ball.
Starting point is 00:47:18 He did it. And by the way, yes, he had a bad game seven. Why were they in a game seven and begin with? That's like, he, what did game one of that series? Like he had, he had remarkable, he had a better outline arguably than Curry had on a game clinching game seven on a series clinching your seven. He got them to that game seven. He had a big series to get them.
Starting point is 00:47:38 Yes, because they were up in that series. Yeah, yes, yes. Now, did he have a bad game seven? Absolutely. I'm not here to say like, oh, James Harden, it wasn't his fault Whatever it's not his fault like it's not his or are Blake's fault. I was gonna say Drake's fault Because he had a concert. Yeah, right. Yeah, I'm getting my my things confused. Yeah, but
Starting point is 00:47:57 The point is no, it wasn't my fault It wasn't my fault either you were feeding me the line. It was so loud in my ear wasn't my fault either Well, it was a by-fall either. You were feeding me the line, it was so loud in my ear. Wasn't my fall either. Yeah, go. I'm getting lost in the multiverse. The reality is, this dude is a great player. Now the problem is, and this goes back to Stu Gotts'
Starting point is 00:48:15 question in last segment, is the lie, hey, opt-in, that'll make it easier for us to trade you? Because had he opted out, he could have gone the market and and maybe got the bag of money that Houston threw at at Fred Van Vleet right the bags of money that got thrown all over the league maybe he could have been one of those people but i believe that's the lie he's talking about where it was like hey sign this thing opt-in and i will take care of you i will trade you and now he's saying i'm not going to trade you and it like no coincidence that his Dalmoy's a liar speech
Starting point is 00:48:47 comes within 48 hours of a report from the mainstream media that Dalmoy shut down all talks, don't even call me about James Harden. So he's picking and choosing how much he values James Harden. He values him by like the contract he's not actually willing to give him. Well, I mean, I think he's picking and choosing to what makes it more convenient for him,
Starting point is 00:49:09 and maybe Darryl is trying to be, as he's known to be, coy in negotiation, and be like, well, you know what, maybe I'm not gonna trade him and hoping the clippers step up with something more substantive, but like the reality is, that much like Miami and Portland is like, look, this is the deal, dude.
Starting point is 00:49:24 It can't get that much better or that much bigger. like the reality is the at much like Miami in Portland is like look this is the deal dude. It can't get that much better or that much bigger. He makes for a bad martyr, but if anybody would make for a good martyr, it's same in Lillard and perceptions against him too. See, but this is the thing they won't do what Hardin did ever. Now what hard he's running into opposition that James Harnan isn't running into where there are other forces plotting. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, noay doesn't like his deal. Well, I'm not showing up. There's only 16 games. How about, if we give you a little bit more money,
Starting point is 00:50:07 you're like, okay, that's better. And I'll show up. In the NBA, my money's guaranteed, baby. Okay, you don't like it. I don't like it. All right, cool. I'll show up. He did that in Houston.
Starting point is 00:50:16 Yeah, but mail it in for the preseason. Like what happened? James, well, James is. Mail it in for at least long as you want. The regular season as well. James, well, James is not right. is going to want to try to his tummy. You're right. Mike, you are right.
Starting point is 00:50:28 But but all the mail in means I get delivery. Well, let's I want to ask Dominique this because once the season starts, your professional athlete, you're still making $33 million a year. You're on a team that's good enough. That team can contend. It's him and Joel and bead. Like doesn't just pride take over at that point and you start playing hard. No. I so sometimes we make this mistake of thinking that because we're all former athletes
Starting point is 00:50:53 that we all think the same. I have no clue what is going through James Hard's mind. He didn't ask you that. I didn't ask you that. He said, wouldn't you play hard if you're in the situation, not by you? If you felt like you were lied to and you still had to show up to the team, go through training camp, and then the regular season kicks in. Who cares what I would do? And I've never been in that position.
Starting point is 00:51:17 And so that's the point that I was making is like, I don't know what it feels like to be so valuable to an organization that I can act like a complete asshole and they can't do anything about it. And like, I'm not judging him. I know it seems like I'm judging him by saying he's acting like a complete asshole.
Starting point is 00:51:31 I don't mean that negatively, but I'm saying he is so good that he is free to do whatever he is that he wants to do. I get away with it. You gotta, ha ha, ha, ha. A minute too early. You, uh, ha ha. You gotta, you gotta make a mess? Stugots, you gotta, you want out? You gotta make a minute too early. You, uh, you got to, you got to make a mess?
Starting point is 00:51:45 Stugots, you got to make, you want out? You got to make a mess. Right. You have to say, okay, oh, yes, he's making a mess. And that's where I actually think that Damien Lillard's different in a lot of ways, but I don't see Damien Lillard being on the court and just doing what James Hardin has already shown as he's capable of doing.
Starting point is 00:52:01 Right. Like, and the reality is, without Without that all they'll do is say He's a professional. He's all right. He'll be fine as soon as we start playing soon He's starting winning everything is gonna be cool But no if you've got somewhere that you want to be doesn't matter whether you're under contract or not You want to get out show up to work show up to work and do a terrible job of it How about show up to their work like I did to wfa yet and do a terrible job of it. How about show up to their work?
Starting point is 00:52:23 Like I did to WFA yet. The stigma. If you want to be a clipper, show up to their can. Yeah, just say. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
